half baked thought bc I’m actually chewing drywall abt this trailer rn but I’m really interested to see if and how bachelor route leans into film as the vessel for performance rather than theatre- I think it’s a fascinating narrative shift that really articulates the difference between the haruspex and bachelor routes. “any choice is right as long as it’s willed” really reflects the ever changing and in-the-moment presence of live theatre whereas with “there is only one truth,” the film has been made. the events have already come to pass. they are preserved in time ad infinitum. which also adds to the tragedy of daniil dankovsky i think :)) idk i just think its Neat and i am so so incredibly excited about this game cannot wait to see the sillies again :))

idk about liu duan duan's intentions, but his acting choices this season are only strengthening my interpretation that the second prince is gay. the way he interacts with fan xian, his reaction to his marriage arrangement with ye ling'er, even the way he interacts with his bodyguards... it all has a certain atmosphere about it. he acts like a man who exactly knows who he is and what he wants, and who has completely locked away every single piece of himself and his heart as part of his quest for power.

i feel like it makes a fascinating parallel to the emperor (and his relationship with ye qingmei?): if you want the throne, you need to hide what you are, who you love and all your feelings, be that for the unsuitable woman with a mysterious background who's just arrived in the capital or for your secret son or for men or whatever. and it's a trade that they're willing to make, because that's part of the deal. being on top of the world allows you to ignore some rules, but it binds you even tighter to other ones.

and if you do decide to openly be who you are and love who you love—then you've made the biggest mistake, because you've shown your cards and opened yourself up to attack. you're vulnerable.

don't wear your heart on your sleeve. bury it and keep your eyes on the throne.

This is a brilliant live performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The great Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty , Steve winwood and Dhani Harrison. Prince steals the show with his excellent solo. People forget how good this guy was when it comes to the guitar . Hopefully this should give people a little reminder 😉😁
