Zardozi or zar-douzi or zarduzi (Persian: زَردوزی, Hindi: ज़रदोज़ी, Tajik: зардӯзӣ, Urdu: زردوزی, Uzbek: zardoʻzi), is an Iranian, Indian-subcontinent and Central Asian embroidery type. Zardozi comes from two Persian words: zar or zarin meaning 'gold', and dozi meaning 'sewing'. Zardozi is a type of heavy and elaborate metal embroidery on a silk, satin, or velvet fabric base. Designs are often created using gold and silver threads and can incorporate pearls, beads, and precious stones. It is used as decoration for a wide range of applications, including clothes and household textiles. Historically, it was used to adorn the walls of royal tents, scabbards, wall hangings and the paraphernalia of regal elephants and horses. Initially, the embroidery was done with pure silver wires and real gold leaves. However, today, craftsmen make use of a combination of copper wire, with a golden or silver polish, and silk thread.

Hi there. Idk if this question has been asked before, but where do they find the fabric for the mandarin coat?
I'd say there are as many answers as there are versions of the costume. But some pointers:
Many of the early versions were made with partly antique embroidered textiles from the Qing dynasty. These were a popular collector's item in the 19th and 20th century, to the point where some of them were never intended for use in China, they were made as souvenirs. The original design by Maria Bjørnson suggests antique Chinese fabrics, with a hem showing the classic water-and-mountain motif, the collar being a cloud collar usually seen in women's attires, and the hat a decorated winter hat.
Tumblr media
Even if all these costumes are made from scratch rather than bought, I thought it could be interesting to compare it to a similar authentic Chinese robe - without the collar - dated to the 1890s and sold by Augusta Auctions some years ago:
Tumblr media
This robe has a badge - an insignia of rank and position of a Mandarin official in the Qing dynasty. These were used both on the chest and back, and the bird or otherwise animal told onlookers all they needed to know, if the person was a civil or military employee, and how high up in the system they were. The badge is not featured in Bjørnson's design, but it has showed up in a few costumes. Maybe most proninently in Michael Crawford's original West End costume, which Bjørnson would have supervised:
Tumblr media
To my eye it looks like many of the elder costumes (up until c. 2005) used a lot of antique or vintage fabrics, but used on a new base. Details to look for is distinct gold couching, re-used badges, special dragon embroideres, antique collars and tabards, fringework etc. I am quite convinced some of these are antique or vintage details, like the China blue tabard with water and mountain motif used by John Owen-Jones in West End c. 2002:
Tumblr media
The cuff and details on one of the original Australian robes, and continued to shine in the World Tour up until 2015 or so:
Tumblr media
The tabard of the Swedish/Danish version, first made in 1989 and still in use in 2019 (maybe not too visible in the stage photo, but definitely when seen up close backstage!):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a contrast, newer costumes tends to be brassier and bigger, with less embroidery and more appliquées and trims. It looks to me like they mostly rely on new fabrics and materials, maybe with some elements of elder embroidery. This collar made for Ben Lewis in West End is a good example:
Tumblr media
And the recent German version, here seen on Mathias Edenborn in Hamburg. It's a costume I got to study up close and I couldn't spot any particular details that looked old:
Tumblr media
And this Broadway robe with what looks like a very new firefly pattern brocade and embroidered gold trims appliquéed on:
Tumblr media
So why this change? I guess it depends on what is available. Qing textiles has become more rare on the open market, and more expensive. Elder textiles are also more fragile, while new textiles will handle wear and tear, dry cleaning etc. better. Some of these costumes are used on stage up to eight times a week, after all.
Due to the fragility of elder textiles, they may have to cover the embroidery with fine mesh. This dulls down the effect and makes the costume heavier, so it's not always ideal. Better then to use new stuff. Here's an early 1990 West End one covered with mesh, to protect the embroidery:
Tumblr media
A last aspect is of course that by using elder textiles you may put specific meaning-bearing motifs on which ideally shouldn't be there. The beautiful embroidered Indian fabric with elephants and swastikas - in India a symbol of the sun and good luck - which appeared in an unfortunate Danish Elissa skirt is a good example. Luckilly the costume crew knew what they were doing by including the five bats - for good luck - on this Broadway Mandarin robe:
Tumblr media
If you plan on making your own costume, I would say: Create the base of a Chinese brocade (silk or synthetic) with predominantely black or dark blue base and polychrome pattern. As an inspiration, here's the robe, collar and tabard - fairly undecorated - in making for Scott Davies (top) and Ben Lewis (bottom) in West End, with photos generously shared by head-of-costume Ceris Donovan:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the back: Go for a main motif, and build everything around that. And layer! Gems upon trims upon embroideries upon fabrics. The more structure, embroidery, couching and details the various materials has, the better. And then add some on top of that.
Note that it varies if a production do both the robe, cloud collar and tabard. Some production only do two of these, some do all three. But whatever the case, the costume with hat should create angles, texture and lines that makes him stand out from the previous scene, where he wore black and white and tight-fitting clothes.
Tumblr media
In West End I think they source it in the many amazing fabric shops in Brixton and Soho, including Borovicks, as well as antique dealers. For Broadway I know a lot was bought in the fabric district in NYC. Other productions may be equipped with fabrics and trims from these, or they may source their own materials locally. I also noticed that the Chinese (left) and Japanese (right) productions tend to use more red and purple fabrics for their versions, which I would think was also locally sourced:
Tumblr media
So yeah. As many answers as there are versions out there...

Little Bear sits on toy plane and flies on the world globe. Embroidery Project idea based on Little Bear’s travel adventure and the destination of last weekend’s short trip. I done half of the embroidery in the plane (I completed ‘aeroplane’ in the aeroplane), and final completion when I am back home. This is the first time, I brought my embroidery along while travelling and did it in the plane. It was a memorable experience.
Thank you my colleagues who contributed for the photo and video with the elephant, and ideas for my embroidery background design.

@aeghon said: company .   silently  sit  with  my  muse  to  comfort  them. (Helaena!)
Her embroidery needed threaded fluidly through fabric, without Helaena even paying attention to it. She had perfected this habit of letting her mind wander while she stitched thread through cloth, always far away, while her designs took shape on clothes and blankets. When she had been a child, she had struggled much more to contain her anxiety and find ways to cope with it. With time, she had discovered that this was a fitting way to alleviate it and distract herself enough to calm down. Every since Jaehaerys had died, she spent almost every waking moment with a needle in hand, trying to forget...
When the door opened and her husband stepped inside, Helaena tensed. They had not spoken since their son was taken from them so violently and though Helaena had wanted to, she hadn't known how to. Aegon harbored a deeply rooted dislike for her, which he had nurtured since their childhood and though there had been glimpses of brighter moments through the years, they mostly avoided each other. For him to approach her in the safety of her own chambers was uncommon and she was worried about what he would do. Much to her surprise, he only settled down next to her, quietly observing what she was doing.
Silence stretched out between them for a long moment, in which Helaena tried to order her thoughts and find words to say that he would not mock, or be repulsed by immediately. If anyone understood her grief, it was Aegon. He had not been present in their lives at first, but in recent years truly tried to be some sort of father figure to them. She could tell that he was insecure in their presence, perhaps because their own father had left much to desire, but at least he had tried. And now their son and heir was dead and she worried so much for their little girl, who was left alone. "I am sad because of Jaehaerys", she finally said quietly, halting her hands and staring at the elephant she was embroidering on a blanket. "But everyone acts like nothing happened. They moved on so quickly."

My thoughts on Weston College Arc
Episode 1
Wow! This was a fantastic start, like amazing!!! I noticed a couple of scenes out of order, but I actually love how they did it here. The first like 5 minutes reminded me of UP, and the pendulum swing was so mesmerizing.
My favorite sounds were the bells, the pendulum swing, and the crackling of the fireplace, too. I experienced the first episode with headphones on, and it automatically enhanced the experience!
The way MacMillan said “P4!” made me snicker. I wasn't expecting his voice, I'm sorry.
I gasped at its beauty and when Sebastian walked in, I felt his presence! It was demanding and domineering? but welcoming! He looks so damn good, I bit my finger. 🫦
This first episode got me fucking hyped! Oh and “Yes, my lord” with his hair falling out from behind his ear was perfection!
The only nitpick I have is the change from fags to drudges but I understand why and I'll get used to it. It just… feels too vague to me while fag was used for a specific reason since Weston (Eton) is a British school and not because teehee f slur.
Episode 2
I didn't enjoy this one as much as episode 1 but still liked it nonetheless. The animation of the cover, best fucking part! I fucking gasped. Oh and want the fucking tea and the lemon myrtle soufflé glacé… ca cest toujours delish!Seeing
Soma at the end was great!
Episode 3
Best one yet! I liked that they added a recap.
I awed when Agni showed up and cried for his master. 🥺 It was better than in the manga! The sound design fucking wowed me once again! 🤩 The hooting, bells, and organ were perfection.
Maurice Cole is more tolerable now re-reading the manga but I still don't like him. His scenes with Soma and Ciel exposing him were funny and satisfying af, cooked to perfection! Edgar breaking his bond and seeing his devastation and his fucking ugly ass were the cherries on top!
The expressions were on point, especially with Maurice Scowl and Ciel's face when he said he wouldn't know what it's like to be a second son, forever untitled. His voice changing from soft and feminine/innocent to his real one was also perfect.
I'm glad they included the elephant scenes because I loved them and the sound the elephant made. It was not as great as the manga, but the scene with MacMillan and Ciel sharing a bed was nice, too.
Ciel is such a manipulative bastard and I love it! I'm glad he shared a laugh with the P4. They're buying his performance and good vibes all around. The organ music playing while he accepts the flower to be Clayton's fag? Magnificent. That devious smile sells it and sets up for a great viewing experience next time.
The only nitpicks I have are I wished Ciel was asleep while Sebastian rummaged through the trash and the chibi demonstration while Ciel explained vibrations was kept.
Episode 4
The footsteps, clinking of the teacup, and pouring of the tea sounds so clean. The sound design scratches the itch in my brain. The crunch of the bread!
That whole scene under the Swan Gazebo was the best one. I love it when Ciel masks and laughed at Violet, not drawing Greenhill, who got clonked with a piece of bread. I gasped because I knew the scene was coming.
*dramatically gasps for air* That charcoal snapping off and hitting the ground was fucking perfect! 🤩 It didn't disappoint me one bit! This sound design is fucking fire and crisp as hell! They really sold me on this whole scene.
I've been looking forward to this scene as well as a few others. It captured the intensity of that scene and the comedy of it as well! I'm glad they put no music and showed everyone's reactions rather than something dramatic playing in the background.
The scenery around Swan Gazebo is beautiful! I rewinded it. They also changed embroidery to poetry for some reason?
This episode had me laughing with Agares falling down the stairs. I also love Sebastian's reaction to him and how he looked at his hand. That's enough of a giveaway to anime onlys that something about him is off.
Lantern scene: Manga vs Anime
I also finally watched the fire scene where Ciel threw the lantern, and I like it more now that I've seen the episode in full. I think the music here was wonderful, and the whooshing sound/smashing of the window while the dorm caught fire was great!
Manga
Is it inconsistent and makes less sense for Ciel to throw it that far? Yes, and yes. I like it, though, because impossible things happening is the beauty of fiction, and he is doing something himself.
He also has agency and he does have Sebastian use his powers to find Derrick but only after he gives the order. He had an option because of the dialog. Of course you can argue Sebastian is doing what he can help his master.
Sebastian teased him in that scene, though, thus bringing up how Ciel is going to go about this. I like that teamwork makes the dream work, but in the manga, Sebastian gave Ciel an option to make his own decision, and that's what I like about it.
Episode 5:
Yes!!! Burn. Burn! I like the burning and crackling of the fire in any scene. I also love the glow of his eyes and the negative effect used in the anime (as seen with Undertaker and in the intro).
Like, ooh! Ah!
That poor elephant. I like his sounds and scenes, too, like Soma telling him he did a job. I give props to Soma for calling out Violet but a mayor of purple house? Lol. I'm sure he meant prefect.
I like that Clayton being hit comes into play later. It's not really significant, though. It's just funny that he gets hit twice in the same fashion. Next time, don't have a voice that makes you sound like a crabby old professor.
"Shit! There's people around, and I better act normal." *runs gayily toward his "teacher" and places his hands on his chest rather than a normal thank you* Love these two, especially when they share a conniving smile and a brain cell.
I love their entrances, especially Violet Wolf but maybe I'm biased because their my favorite house. It's cute that Lizzy cheers them both on. Ciel should have Edward Midford down as cause of death on his death certificate, lol.
The individual fires are so pretty and combining them are even better!
Pfft, Violet Wolf dormitory eating like gremlins.
Lawrence sisters have really lovely designs, and the little sister they offered to Ciel as a wife looks the best. Soma looks good as well, and Sebastian winking at them... hot! 😍
Edward is clever but couldn't figure out who Mr. Michealis was, lol.
Start of the Sapphire Miracle fashback: *sniffles* Those men are beautiful! I love me some Vindee. ~
Episode 6:
I love that we continue with the flashback of the "Blue Miracle." Vincent may be a cunt who likes to mess around and cheat but he won't let anyone speak badly about his house, even another prefect. The wind and the shadow shows he means business.
I like the sound of birds and the water and the music as well while they talk. The transition from "You better hold up your end of the bet/You as well" to Green House losing was absolute perfection! 😂👌🏻 The music is wonderful, and the sway of his hips as heads toward the boat just... the ✨️ sassiness and sexiness. ✨️ People don't like Vincent's eye color but they made both men beautiful.
Dee swimming after the boat had me rewinding and snorting this time around. Lmao! His voice actor did a wonderful job. I know Alexis is the original fanboy. He ships them! Anyway, their faces at the end of the flashback was priceless. Everyone else is either o.o or 😒 while MacMillan is just 🤩✨️. I wish we saw it.
Imagine being named Coward. That's unfortunate because your teammates could yell at you like: "Get the ball, Coward! Defend the wickets, Coward! We lost the game because of you, Coward! 😤" I'd cry.
Okay, so I don't have much to say about the cricket part overall, except it's beautiful, the hits are satisfying, and like father like son. The Ciel is evil, and that part with Harcourt being sent to heaven DID NOT disappoint! One of my favorite moments, and they did it justice! 😂 There are smaller but significant moments I like, but I'll get to those when they come.
The bit between Tanaka and Sebastian is always great. The old man knows they use dirty tactics but still respects them for it. I like his new VA, too.
Purple Burnout is so pretty! Not so significant, but Edward observing other people and making their moves his own is what makes him great. It's like a fanfic of an original work. He's playing homage to it or gets inspired, and/or even if he copies it, he still respects the author who created it originally.
I love how he can see through Ciel's tricks quickly and that he's there for the Queen, but not that Sebastian is Professor M. God bless him, lol. At least Greenhill sees that he's a genius.
The Radetsky March was done nicely. There's not much to say there.
I honestly thought that removing the cricket explanation and funny bit with Bard's pie missing is sad and fucked the pacing first time around. Also, no Snake. 😭 Stop doing this to my boy!
I love the last shot of Sebastian taking off his disguise, though. Possibly, my all-time favorite part is next. Go, Sebastian!
Episode 7
I like how when Ciel imagined Sebastian, the heart had little sparkles and it floats away! I love when Lau pulls the "Sorry! My English no good" shit! 😆 Lmao, on top of it, Cole is so salty.
The tiny flags waved by Tanaka. 🥺
Yesss!!! The principal vanished?! That would make a cool ending of an episode, but I like how they did it here.
I love it when they do the demon eyes all staring at you twice: First when Ciel trespasses at Purple house and now with Blue House players surrounding the wickets. The first batter for that round feels dread, lol.
The chant "It's not cricket!" to complete silence with no music is wow! That was so good. The cliff tactics visual is really cool and I like the sound of thunder and the batter falling of the cliff.
They went from laughing to being in awe, and the wickets clattering was satisfying as hell. Ooh! I love the visual of Bluewer and the Owl, too. I like the flashbacks they put in the games as well. That smack made my mouth hang open. Like, damnnn Greenhill. The ball damaged the seating area!
Is that a piano version of "The Parade of Battlers" when Ciel is giving Bluewer a different ball? That's awesome until... Ciel gets hit with the bat. 😆 It's the dramatic, and the sound of Ciel grabbing the ball is good like their sportsmanship, and they WON the game!!!
Episode 8
The moment they moved everyone to tears to Sebastian tending Ciel's wound was just beautiful. That Eton looks delicious too. Love anime food! 🤤
They all look so good in the uniforms, and I like the photograph and how short Ciel looks in it compared to the rest. The music is heavenly!
Okay... both the boat scene and the festivities are where the visuals and sound design fucking shine! They are at their best thus far and probably won't get no better! The sword draw was clean and fireworks sound so nice along with the music and other stuff. I want to be there celebrating the festivities with them! Just wow... Amazing. 🤩
The owls cooing, crickets chirping, and the piano music playing while everyone's asleep... "Weston College is blanketed in a silence that sharply contrasts the day's clamor." That's actually worded better than how I would've put it. That flower and teacup/saucer is really pretty! I wouldn't mind having a bouquet and teased like that. It's even prettier when it blooms. *gasps* The bells, the organ, the moon and garden, the opening of the passage, and the clinking of teacups... I love it!
I like how the shadows are over the other boys in the photos and Derrick in the middle as he is the minor antagonist yet main focus of the entire arc.
Great ending with him showing up as if nothing happened. Fabulous!
Episode 9
I like the petals. The voice going from normal to like demonic... that's good. I don't know the sound made after Ciel points his gun at The Headmaster, but I'm down for such a heavy sound. The wind is back with the brief silence, and I have no complaints. Ooh... Derrick's death reveal! 💯 They made Undertaker being Ryan's research partner more obvious, lol. Omg the heartbeat growing louder, yes!
Teeth, teeth, teeth! And Sebastian's red eyes. Lovely!
The visuals and music/sound design for his reveal in this scene is everything! I'm glad Junichi Suwabe returns to voice Undertaker! The cinematic record, the ink, splatter, his smile... absolute 🔥🔥🔥! Not to mention the style and colors, too. I adore that they added this, and it's the coolest way to recap and remind us who he is/what he did up to this point! ❤️
One of the students being hit made me bear my teeth. 😬
Episode 10
I don't think I like people being hit in general but I'm okay with it in Derrick Arden's case. 😌
*chants* Teeth! Teeth! Teeth! Teeth!
Yes! Rock and wobble while laughing in that chair, I love you crazy old man! Also, the whole explanation and imagined fight were so awesome! It shows the difference between Sebastian and Undertaker and how the soul he crafted and molded to be stolen away from him as well as the person he cares most about.
I didn't know Edward came back with a sword. Does that mean he was going to fight and/or protect? In the words of Lizzy: "Big brother! You're so cool!"
Love the shot of the bloodied flower.
My boy is back! I missed the chaos and enjoyed it more in the anime with the sheep chasing Meyrin and Tanaka riding one, lol! I wish they kept "bastard" but I can't complain because my boy is back!!! 😄🥰🙏🏻😭
The striking of the match and crackling of the fire is always pleasant. I wish they kept the photo, though. 😔 It does look like the oven or stove is like the ones they had back then!
She's got to be the antagonist. That bitch is up to something! There's one episode left but this was a very nice wrap up for WC Arc!
Episode 11
We wrap up this arc with chapter 85 and end it with the beginning of GWA after the credits. Let's talk about it!
Okay, so the beginning scene is really nice! My baby is back, and he's looking beautiful! 😍 Finnian humming is really cute, and a scene that confused me was explained. I was confused because I thought she walked toward another cabinet, not backward!
Who is Agni's VA? They did a wonderful job, though brief, I loved seeing him again! 🥹❤️ These two are always a riot.
Everything looks so pretty, and I love the stuff they add, which made the scenes better imo. The servants are so fun and adorable with the glasses and Ciel the hat!
The Snake and sexy girl scene made me laugh and the cigarette scene was done well, too. Finnian with a lollipop! 🥺 I like that they gave Bard a scene to explain Somerset House.
I like the clinking of the mourning hair jewelry, and it looks really pretty!
They didn't lag in the second half either! I enjoyed the music and the cards gracefully floating down to the audience with sparkles for pizzaz! Miss Irene is looking beautiful in both her appearances as herself and Juliet. This part also got laughs outta me, such as Sebastian pulling the carriage, the crowd rushing toward them, and Ciel's "Sebas-chan!" when he got pulled back and held up. Plus, Sebastian's little clapping bit, lol.
The last couple of minutes after credits like omg! They get you hyped, and there's no down in the quality either! They also actually speak German, and it sounds SO good! I can't wait for my favorite arc to be animated!!! 🤩
In conclusion:
Very solid anime with gorgeous animation, voice acting, and 100/10 sound design that stayed faithful while adding its own touches. The outro isn't bad and is super gay while the opening plus visuals is a banger! Episode 10 is my favorite. I'm over the fucking moon for GWA being animated and I actually enjoy Weston College Arc a little bit more now. Thank you for your excellent work, Cloverworks!

Inspired by this post right here , have a post I'd like to call
Ranking how easy each linked universe link would be to cosplay!
1-5, 1 being hard, 5 being easy
Read more if you dare ~
First up to bat is Sky!
Tumblr media
So there's a lot of ways to approach his outfit. I think his shirt, pants and boots could easily be thrifted. Earrings too probably. Hack up a green shirt and put it back together with some slits and there you go. His white undershirt seems pretty simple too, minus the blue, but I'll come back to that.
The red wrap+belt might be a tad more difficult, I could argue for making the red wrap out of a base or from scratch. The cape though, make that from scratch. Thrift some white bedsheets and make a simple cape. You've got a lot of options for his blue designs. Vinyl appliques, topstitch some blue fabric, paint, even embroidery if you're crazy (like me lol)
I don't think his wig would be... Terribly difficult? He's just got chin length hair and bangs. I just feel like it would be hard to get volume into it and keep it from looking flat and lifeless.
The chainmail is where I stop bc. I know nothing about chainmail in cosplays. How make it? I met a guy once who made his own chainmail by individually twisting metal wire around itself for each loop, and I think that is utterly insane. I embroider and I don't even have the patience for that. But I wouldn't know an easier way to do that so ¯\(°_o)/¯
Overall Sky gets a 4/5 his base outfit is pretty darn simple with some minimal sewing knowledge required if you want it 100 percent accurate. His cape would be fairly easy to paint, so maybe not a beginner cosplay, but not too hard!
Now Four (sword not included)
Tumblr media
So Four's tunic is where a lot of the difficulty comes in (clearly lol). I could see fusing four shirts together, but I would be concerned about the way they would fit together being different patterns, different fabrics, ect ect. I would probably not bother and just make his tunic from scratch. If you want 1000 percent accuracy, you could make his tunic lace up in the front, which would look awesome but is out of my skill set lol. His hood I feel like would need a couple mock ups to get the right shape. His whole tunic actually. It's kinda dress like. The drape is important if ya feel me.
Other things I would make would be his weird belt, his kinestones, and his Ezlo bobble (don't want it to be too heavy or else it would drag down the hood, so no metal = harder to thrift) For his earring I would probably dye a plastic feather.
Now his tunic would require quite a bit of embroidery, which sounds very fun to me, but a nightmare to many others I'm sure.
His wig would be pretty simple, but again I feel like it would be hard to make look good, especially with the headband. I'm not really a wig person so I wouldn't know though.
As for easy things, his tights, boots, and undershirt would be pretty simple to thrift or cobble together 👌
Overall Four gets a 2/5. Definitely not the easiest out there. There are ways you could make it easier on yourself, but there's quite a few skills you need to even start.
It's time for Time! (Kaepora Gaebora not included)
Tumblr media
Oh Time buddy where do I even start...
Let's start with the easy stuff. His underclothes are super simple. Just black turtleneck and black pants. Thrift em, easy.
We've discussed how much I don't know about chainmail, so I'm choosing to ignore that. The boots I think depend on how much you care for accuracy. Brown boots are easy to come by. This particular style? Not so much. I've only ever modified shoes via paint so I wouldn't know all that much here.
With time's wig, I think the biggest thing would be getting his bangs right. I think using that combing backwards technique would work well, but I haven't used it so idk
Ok ok let's address the elephant in the room. I have no idea how to make armor. I know there's a lot of different methods, I've never used any of them, I don't know. Armor isn't necessarily gonna be harder than embroidery, but my complete lack of knowledge might tank time's score a bit.
For time I'm gonna give a 1/5. You gotta know quite a bit of cosplay stuff for this guy. I've done about four cosplays now, and I look at him and shudder in fear. Do Time if you're good with armor and chainmail.
Let's go downfall boys, starting with Legend (seasons rod not included)
Tumblr media
I think legend's might be one of the most fun (for me lol) I could easily see both his tunics starting as thrifted bases which you hack up to fit the design a bit more. If you wanna be lazy, just find a blue beanie for his hat lol. If not, it's just a standard link hat but blue.
For his shoes, basically find some brown books and add some feathers. For his weird belt maybe buy a Hufflepuff scarf 😆. His bracket and rings could be super fun to thrift and modify if you're into that.
Now, admittedly, you would have to embroider stuff for legend, which hikes up the difficulty a lot lol. But whoopsie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think his wig would be super fun. I don't know much about dying wigs, but this could be a fun project to learn about it bc it's such a small, low stakes section of his hair.
Overall, Legend gets a 3/5. The required embroidery makes things difficult, and modifying some bases to fit could be a bit hard, but overall seems like a super fun cosplay to put together.
The hero of Hyrule!
Tumblr media
Ok so I feel like a lot of this outfit could be thrifted and modified. Just buy the pants, find a brown shirt and add yellow accents, maybe tear the sleeves off a green shirt, dip the neckline, and open the bottom up. Not too bad. I could see the boots being easy too. The gloves is where I'm not sure on. I've never actually made gloves bc I'm not good at sewing tiny, form fitting things. So I'm kinda ¯\(°_o)/¯
I think his potions could be fun to make. Of course, he doesn't have them in the comic, but hey it could add some depth to the costume. Just buy some glass bottles and line the insides with different paint colors. Could be a fun afternoon.
I'm not really sure where to start with his wig. Fluffy wigs are hard to make fluffy as far as I'm aware. Synthetic hair tends to lay quite flat. But I've seen ppl curl them, I know it's possible, but I don't really know how. So this is gonna be a "do your own research" thing.
Overall, debating between 4 or 5/5 for Hyrule. I think his getup is as hard as you make it really. If you go all out in accuracy, probably a 4. If not, a chill 5. Probably the simplest you'll get from the lu boys.
Child timeline with Twilight!
Tumblr media
Not the chainmail 😭 we've established I simply do not know. I am actively ignoring it. Anyways, his under clothes are just white/cream pants and shirt, easy, thrift store. His tunic could be pretty simple, just take a green Tshirt, cut some slits, and transfer a dark green sleeve from another shirt and boom you got twilight tunic. The wrap wouldn't be to hard, basically the same as sky's so I'm just gonna move on.
I think if you don't wanna go to hard, his boots are easy, just get brown boots, thrift stores my beloved. But, on the other hand, twi's a cowboy, his boots gotta be intricate! I don't know much about shoes so I couldn't say how but y'know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Twilights hair is basically the same as Time's in the bang's swoop being important. I think you could do it with a tutorial on wig styling 👍
So his wolf pelt... I'm not quite sure what to think. I know they make fabric that mimics fur, but the idea of letting that furry monstrosity near my sewing machine is giving me chills. I would have to clean it out after ever seam. I dunno man I'm afraid of that fur 😆
Let's give twilight a... 3/5? I'm really not sure what to do with his chainmail and wolf hoodie, but the rest of him doesn't seem too terrible. Basic sewing knowledge needed
The best timeline adult timeline with Wind!
Tumblr media
Ok I lied when I said Hyrule was as simple as we were gonna get. Wind is challenging for that spot. Let's break this down. He's got a greenish undershirt, orange capris, and black booties. Thrift em.
Like four, most his difficulty comes in the tunic. But unlike four, you've got a lot of options. For legend and four, I only mentioned embroidery for their tunics because I don't know if other methods would look good in such small details. but with sky and wind, you can basically do whatever you want! Alter a blue shirt (or maybe dress with the length of his tunic) to fit the neckline and slit. Then, for the details, you could do embroidery (you're crazy, but sure), white fabric topstitched on (mostly worry about the curves), vinyl (again, you're crazy, but sure), even paint (underrated option in my opinion)!
His wig seems pretty easy, again just getting it to be fluffy is the issue. And that's one I can't help you with lol.
You could basically stop there, but if you want some finer details, the spoils bag would be a fun felt project, his swirl belt buckle seems like a job for polymer clay and paint, and I think a bead + gold wires and some kind of pink see through sheet could make a very cute joy pendant.
Another case of "as easy as you make it" let's give wind a more solid 4/5 since it's maybe slightly harder than Hyrule.
Nebulous timeline placement with Warriors!
Tumblr media
Hhhhhhhhh I'm crying what. Chainmail, armor, and custom shoes???? Just kill me now.
Ok ok so we all know how I feel about chainmail and armor, I'm gonna leave those alone. He's got the same under clothes situation as twilight just white shirt and pants. His tunic I could see as a modified dress or very large shirt. Make the v neck the deepest v in the world lol.
He has... So many belts. I've not been mentioning belts unless they're weird bc, again, thrift store. But I. I think you're gonna buy out the whole store's worth of belts my goodness. But yes, you can modify belts to fit the areas he's wearing them.
His amazing scarf cape kind of scares me. It's too beautiful, it relys so much on the drape, and I am but a poor soul on the internet. Buuuut I could see maybe a deep blue knit fabric, or even just blue bedsheets at, again, the thrift store. I dunno what the orange is, if it's embroidery or what. I'd find a reference of it, but it's midnight and I've already spent way too long on this lol
The shoes... Like ok they're cool conceptually with them being a reference to historical army shoes. But you're not gonna find those out and about. Luckily, I think if you took some brown boots and did some cut outs in the back, you could get a similar affect.
Finally, his wig also kind of scares me bc his hair is so nice, but this one seems simple with some bangs styling required 👍
Overall warriors is getting a 1/5. I don't think he'd be as hard to make as time, but definitely harder than four with the shoulder armor, customized tunic, cape, and customized shoes.
Last but certainly not least, the Wild child!
Tumblr media
So wild is basically a cartoonized version of his botw self, and there's plenty of botw link tutorials out there if you want some more advice. But! He doesn't seem too bad. He's got the white underclothes deal, easy to thrift. his tunic could just be blue with your choice of white applique like wind. You could be extra and do the dualing colors. Can't remember if wild keeps that design element in the comic itself, but it's neat! Basically Frankenstein two shirts together. The only concern would be how the different fabrics interact and how the differences in pattern and sizing interact. But with only 2 pieces it shouldn't be too bad.
His boots are as simple as you make them. If you want the orange flap, I could see it made out of some wiggly foam and painted. His arm wraps are basically any grey fabric in strips so I'll leave that to your disgression.
His cape doesn't seem all that hard, your choice of applique on the back, make it out of a simple cape pattern, basic sewing knowledge maybe required.
Honestly my mind concern is his wig since long wigs are always such a pain. But styling wise, looks pretty simple.
Overall, wild gets maybe a 3/5? About on par with legend, maybe a bit harder. Or maybe not necessarily harder than legend, but more effort.
Bonus Malon bc I love her
Tumblr media
Another case of as hard as you make it. I don't think it would be too hard to find a pink skirt and white shirt. If you want it too be accurate, you'd have to do some finagling, but it wouldn't be too bad. Her waist wrap is similar to sky, and whatever that brown drape from her belt is doesn't seem to hard. Her yellow cape thing could honestly just be like a square of yellow fabric, it's all in how it's tied.
Shes another, simple shoes, unless you consider this is a cowgirl, they gotta be good wink wonk. but not actually, make it as hard as you want lol.
Honestly, her wig is what scares me most. She's got the time bangs and the long hair.
Let's give malon a 4 or 5/5 like Hyrule. As easy as you make it! Quite a range you can get while still having it look good.

Sometime in 1598, Jane Bostocke, a young Shropshire gentlewoman, finished a long worked-over project, carefully stitching her designs and lettering into a piece of linen with various coloured silks, and decorating the result with small beads and seed pearls. As well as intricate geometric designs, she carefully stitched a dog with a collar and a lead, as well as a rather more exotic chained bear. She included trees and flowers and a small heraldic lion. It is clear that Jane changed her mind on more than one occasion, carefully unpicking a castle on an elephant, a squirrel cracking a nut and a raven.
Jane intricately stitched the letters of the alphabet, too, before recording her name, the date and the birth of her cousin, Alice Lee, on 'the 23 of November being Tuesday in the afternoon 1596'. She may already have begun the work before her cousin's birth, later deciding to present it to her as a gift. Undoubtedly, the work of stitchery must have taken her many hours of careful work – sometimes by the light of the window, sometimes with a candle burning close at hand. The result is the earliest surviving English sampler that is dated, and it now resides in London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
Upper-class Tudor girls, such as those at Sherriff Hutton, and women such as Jane Bostocke spent much of their time at their needlework. A sampler of the kind on which Jane worked was intended for the beginner, allowing girls and young women to perfect different types of stitching. Another surviving Elizabethan example, by a girl who stitched her name as 'Susan Neeadri', contains the queen's arms and initials accompanied by heraldic beasts. This sampler, which is long and narrow, is extremely intricate, its top panel embroidered in red and gold silk and the second panel in black and silver. The remaining bands were worked with cheaper, linen thread.
Lower down the social scale, too, girls were taught embroidery. Thomasine Wolters, an orphan living in Sandwich, Kent, in the 1580s-90s, was boarded out in the house of a Mistress Smythe. There, she was taught to sew; she later purchased her sampler from her old mistress when she left to marry. The Sandwich Board of Orphans, which oversaw Thomasine's modest inheritance and paid for her maintenance, also periodically purchased silk thread for her work. As well as producing beautiful embroidery, Thomasine had been taught to stitch her own gowns and coifs to cover her hair, and to make lace.
Sewing was, after all, a practical skill. Tudor women commonly made and repaired their own clothing, and even high-born women stitched clothes. Henry VIII's first wife, Catherine of Aragon, was skilled at shirt-making. The future Elizabeth I sent her half-brother, Edward VI, a shirt 'of her own working' as a New Year's gift when she was just six years old. Women frequently made vestments and other items for churches, too. Elizabeth's lady-in-waiting, Blanche Parry, gave an altar cloth that she had made to the church of St Faith's in Bacton in Herefordshire in 1589.
There was nothing unusual in seeing Tudor girls and women of all classes sitting with their heads bent, stitching.

Sarees with a Soul: Ganesh Chaturthi’s Trendsetting Traditions
As Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, there's a general feeling of enthusiasm, festivity, and devotion in the air. This auspicious celebration honoring the venerated elephant-headed deity Ganesha is not just about rituals and prayers, but it's also a time when traditions and fashion combine to create a vibrant tapestry of cultural expression. Sarees are one of the various options for clothing; they complement modern styles while capturing the spirit of Indian culture. Why not make a statement this year while being fashionable with sarees that embodie the essence of Ganesh Chaturthi customs? Here are some ideas for combining tradition and style this holiday season, ranging from the majestic heavy gota patti work saree to the airy chiffon sarees.
The Majestic Gota Patti Saree: A Festive Favorite
Gota pattis, a traditional Rajasthani craft, are strongly linked to extravagance and festivity. The intricate metallic appliqué on a saree transforms it into a work of art, making it the perfect option for Ganesh Chaturthi. Invest in a striking gota patti work saree to show off your love of traditional crafts and to dress up your holiday wardrobe. The glittering patterns, which are often in shades of gold and silver, complement Ganesha's sacred aura, making them suitable attire for the occasion.
Tumblr media
Designer gota patti sarees provide a modern touch on this traditional skill for people who desire a more contemporary look.Since these sarees blend ancient techniques with modern designs, they are ideal for women who want to embrace modern trends while keeping a strong sense of tradition. Thanks to the expertise of Gota Patti, you will stand out during the festivities whether you choose to wear a saree with a classic red foundation or a more daring color like pastel pink or mint green.
The Graceful Chiffon Sarees: Effortless Elegance
Sarees made of chiffon are a fantastic option for a more delicate yet elegant appearance. Chiffon sarees are airy and shimmering, and they drape exquisitely to highlight the wearer's figure. The fabric may be embellished with a variety of elements, such delicate zari work or exquisite embroidery, making it a versatile option for festive attire.
If you want something airier but yet stylish, chiffon sarees are a great substitute. Chiffon sarees, renowned for their airiness and sheerness, drape exquisitely to highlight the wearer's figure. Because of its adaptability, the fabric may be embellished with a variety of embellishments, such as delicate zari work or elaborate embroidery, making it a classic option for festive attire.
Tumblr media
Banarasi Kora Silk Saree: A Regal Affair
Any discussion on festive sarees must include the magnificent banarasi kora silk saree. These sarees are famous for their luxurious fabric and excellent brocade work, and they come from the holy city of Varanasi. Because of its rich texture and lightweight feel, the kora silk variety is a perfect choice for those who wish to stand out without losing comfort.
Tumblr media
During Ganesh Chaturthi, a royal blue, deep maroon, or pure white Banarasi kora silk saree will make you look like a queen. Floral designs and Mughal architecture often serve as inspiration for the delicate zari embellishments, which lend a touch of sophistication and beauty. You will look stunning in a Banarasi kora silk saree whether you're participating in the Visarjan Parade or attending a family event.
Bridal Gota Patti and Tissue Sarees: A Luxurious Choice
Those who prefer to live in luxury should wear tissue sarees or bridal gota patti sarees. The bridal gota patti saree is not just for brides, thanks to its elaborate patterns and opulent ornamentation. This kind of saree is symbolic of riches and devotion and captures the opulence of the occasion when worn on Ganesh Chaturthi.
With their gossamer-like texture and faint gloss, tissue sarees are a modest yet opulent choice. These sarees are perfect for night time celebrations since they catch the light brilliantly and are frequently stitched with gold or silver threads. If you want to shine brilliant like the celebration itself, a tissue saree in shades of gold, silver, or bronze would be the ideal option.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Ganesh Chaturthi is a celebration of customs, dedication, and cultural legacy rather than just a festival. Allow your saree to embody the essence of the occasion this year. You will be continuing the tradition of Indian craftsmanship while making your own fashion statement, whether you go for the grandeur of a heavy gota patti work saree, the elegance of chiffon sarees, the regality of a banarasi kora silk saree, or the luxury of a bridal gota patti saree and tissue saree. From formal occasions to casual outings, selecting an ideal clutch bag is critical for completing your appearance. A clutch bag stands out among the myriad of available accessories as a dependable and versatile piece, often featuring marvellous embellishments that add a touch of elegance to any outfit.
In simple terms, a clutch bag is a compact, flat handbag with handles or straps, although larger bags with handles or detachable straps are also referred to as 'clutch bags'. Designer clutch bags, also known as clutches, handbags, evening bags, or party bags, are classy and stylish items that distinguish themselves as comfortable and extremely useful accessories. A clutch bag was designed to be held in your hand or tucked under your arm. The term originates from the fact that there are no straps or handles, thus you have to "clutch" it.
Clutches for women at ScrollnShops are normally rectangular or flat in shape; however, they can also be square, spheroidal, circular, or uniquely geometric. They usually include some kind of closure, such as a magnetic snap, zipper, or clasp, which keeps your items safe. A designer clutch bag is crafted with premium materials like wood, raw silk, 100% upcycled cotton, brass, 24K gold foil, chiffon, crepe, georgette, chanderi, and more with countless colours from shimmery hues like silver, gold, white, black, copper, to pastels like mint, powder blue, baby pink. They encourage you to cut down your belongings to the very minimum: you have a credit card or two, a phone, keys, some cash, and perhaps some lipstick. Women prefer wearing a clutch with Gowns, Sarees, Co-ord Sets, or Dresses for a party, get together or festivals and wedding functions.
A designer clutch at ScrollnShops is a masterpiece of art that features royal embroidery handcrafted by beads, Zardosi, Jaal, Sequins, Pearl, Cutdana, Motif, Tonal, Sparkle, Floral or Stripes designs. It also features animal designs like peacocks, birds, fish, or something that is inspired by nature, like flowers, leaves, trees, rainbows, and some out-of-the-box things like evil eye or illusion embroidery. A designer clutch at ScrollnShops features a long or short permanent attached or detachable strap that is constructed by different kinds of fabric, metal, or pearls depending on the style. This will ensure that you stand out from the crowd during formal or festive events.

Embrace Your Radiance: A Samyakk Musical Journey of Lehengas Cholis to Festive Elegance
Introduction:
From religious reflections like Diwali’s lights to harvest bounty celebrated in Onam, India’s festivals are a vibrant mosaic of culture, history, and seasons. Lehenga cholis, dazzling in rich fabrics and colors, are a festive staple.
Marriages see brides adorned in auspicious reds and gold, symbolizing prosperity and new beginnings. During festivals, these outfits reflect the joyous spirit and connect people to their heritage. The celebrations extend beyond attire, with elaborate feasts specific to each occasion. Sweet treats like laddoos and gujiyas become synonymous with Diwali, while biryani takes center stage for Eid celebrations. Festivals are a time for communities to gather, share traditions, and express individuality, all woven together with delicious food and vibrant attire.
Tumblr media
“Festivals are the times when the whole world seems to come together as one family.” — Rabindranath Tagore
The lehenga choli, a dazzling ensemble of a skirt (lehenga), blouse (choli), and dupatta (scarf), is synonymous with Indian festive attire. Its origins can be traced back centuries, though the exact timeline is debated.
Early (Ishara) means indication in Hindisuggest depictions of similar skirt-and-choli combinations in Indus Valley Civilization artifacts (3300–1300 BCE), hinting at an even longer history.
Mughal Era Influence: The Mughal era (1526–1857 CE) is widely seen as a period of refinement for the lehenga choli. Tailoring techniques flourished, and intricate embroidery using zari and silk threads became a hallmark.
What it was called before?
While “lehenga choli” is the prevalent term today, there are regional variations:
Langonior ghagra choli in some parts of North India.
