i can't believe my account got permanently suspended for telling a transphobe that i will mutilate them beyond recognition as a joke. first offense, permanent suspension. not a lock. when i reported actual mutilated bodies twitter either ignored or denied my reports and MAYBE if i am extra lucky they get a *7 day lock*

So Twitter's making sharing social media links illegal now... One of the ones included is Linktree. A site that I not only used to promote all my different works, but also something you can have your own donate button on, so people can send you money to support your content. As someone who's developing their own game, streams on Twitch when I have the energy, and turns Twitch Clips into TikToks, having a Linktree where I can have everything in one spot, AND have a donate button for people to support me is a big deal. So Musk making it a bannable offense to share the link feels like nothing short but an attack on individual content creators. I imagine a lot of people who's main revenue is from online endeavours are going to take a huge hit in the following days.

UPDATE: All of my works are now locked to registered AO3 users for the time being. It upsets me to do so but I’d rather they’re accessible to some rather than to no one. Until the Muskbots are done sweeping the site, this is just how it’s gonna be.

Gosh it's really such a heart-sinking feeling when someone you love starts to fall deeper and deeper into conservative ideology, anti-trans, anti-lgbtq Ben Shapiro/Matt Walsh/Jordan Peterson vibes coupled with the Elon Musk and shitty capitalist neoliberal sentiments.

Someone you love and have grown up with and want in your life because they're immediate family or a dear friend and basically all their beliefs and values are opposite to yours (in my case i am a non-binary, asexual lesbian leftist atheist). I value people having the freedom to be themselves, as long as they aren't hurting anyone. And to have someone who i genuinely love and care about have such hateful beliefs is really difficult to reconcile with my values and who i want in my life. Cause in my case, it's my older brother. He's gonna have a kid. I am gonna be an aunt. And i'm so scared that that kid is going to be absorbing such insidiously hateful crap or is queer themselves and gets taught to hate themselves from an early age like i did, being raised by "well-meaning" bigots.

I dunno, just a ramble. And i know this might be a bit of a displacement of emotion and it's not all their fault or anything but right now idgaf, they've contributed: fuck Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh and Jordan Peterson for spreading their crap around, and doing this to my family. We're not even American or living in the West and we're getting their shitty fucking brainvomits. I'm so upset about this actually lol.

Look, I just think it's really "interesting" that PayPal can not pay you what you're owed and get away with it despite multiple interventions from legal agencies you go to, but heaven forbid you go into negatives for too long or you're the greatest evil and "we will pursue legal action if this continues".
