An embroidery hoop I made for my eldest child (junior at work) leaving home (going freelance).
Quote from IWTV s2e2, with silk ribbon flowers. The cards have illustrations of each flower, with their meaning on the back.
Asphodel: my regrets follow you to the grave; Camellia: longing for you; Cypress: death and mourning; Hemlock: death; Roses: Love; Willow: mourning
All I can see are mistakes, but I'm trying to be positive and proud of myself for creating things, not judge myself overharshly, so I'm posting it here.
Image description: In an embroidery hoop, there is grey fabric with a mushroom embroidered on it using soothing shades of red, orange, and yellow. In the background, a laptop screen displays a real mushroom majestically surrounded with green plants, warm sunlight, and sparkling drizzles of rain.
“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
There will never be a show quite like it. The Homoeroticism. The Dialogue. The Suits. Every single thing about it was perfect, and I miss it every day.
Made a pair of Kodama embroidery hoops, the little forest spirits from Princess Mononoke. 🙃 Find them in my sh0ps or at @thebrightonbazaar on March 17th!
