Also, while I do like the Insomniac version of Harry, I do think it's worth critiquing how the Insomniac games approach the issue of wealth and the wealthy bc as I have discussed before, the games have a confused position on corporations and billionaires where they are evil, yet worth protecting despite the immense harm they cause - and the writing for Harry very much positions him as a foil to Norman where Harry is the Good Billionaire to Norman's Evil Billionaire, where Harry is kind and compassionate and uses his wealth to help the world (in the most bizarre eco-capitalist way, like, sorry, but the EMF is basically the idea that capitalism and super technology will solve things like the climate crisis instead of the whole system needing to be dismantled), and going by the art book, he even wears casual clothes instead of suits bc he's so relatable and down with the poors like Peter; Harry in this universe is basically the perfect person and has zero negative influences from growing up as a billionaire.
And again, I like him, but it is worth considering the broader picture of why a billionaire character would be written like that, especially in a narrative that leans into capitalist apologism at times - it's not even a source material accuracy thing bc 616!Harry is a VERY flawed person in the way Insomniac!Harry isn't (and this is arguably part of the recent trend in adaptations to idealize Harry as perfect, but that's a whole other discussion); I think some of it could be due to the rushed pacing and writing at times, like the story needed to establish the Peter and Harry friendship quickly and didn't have time to give Harry a more complex personality that might dampen the BFF soulmates they needed for emotional moments to hit, but who knows.
This is definitely an issue with Emily Osborn as well bc while you can handwave some of it as us only really knowing her through Harry's perspective and he idolizes her, plus the way the dead get put on a pedestal, especially if they died young under tragic circumstances, the narrative does present her as objectively a saint - but this is a rich woman who willingly loved and married Norman Osborn, who doesn't exactly hide his evil, so either she was extremely naive for a grown woman and lawyer or she was fine with what he was doing, and neither reflects well on her, but I feel like she would be more interesting as a complex flawed character than the objectively perfect billionaire angel the game writes her as.
