Okay

I'm in the middle of moving into a room on the other side of my house. I also get my brother's old bathroom(BIG upgrade btw). It kind of put into perspective for me how much shit I have.

I was planning to do a project pan a lot sooner because I know I have a lot more beauty/hygeine shit than one person will ever need at a time. I didn't truly realize that the real problem was the amount of stationery I own...my room can classify as a stationery store. I will never have to go school/art supply shopping ever again.

I'm hoping to finish everything in the next 2-4 years AND I KNOW THATS LIKE CRAZY, but I have high hopes.

My goals for this project pan is to:

♡ Save Money/Make sure I get my money's worth with all the shit I bought

♡ Fix Spending Habits/Overconsumption

♡ Being more environmentally conscious

Here are the categories for the products I'm project panning:

BEAUTY/HYGEINE

◇ Body Spray

- I only need like 3-5.

◇ Perfume

- I only need like 1 regular sized bottle and maybe 3-5 roll ons.

◇ Lip Balm

- I only need 3 and a big tub of Vaseline that'll last me over 10 years.

◇ Lip Gloss

- I only need 3.

◇ Mascara

- I only need 1.

◇ Lipstick/Crayon

- I only need 1 of each color.

◇ Lip Tint

- I only need 2-3 different colors.

◇ Eyeshadow

- I only need 1 pallet and it doesn't even have to be big.

◇ Serums/Toner

- I use 3 serums every night. I think it would be fair to have 3 refill serums for when I finish a bottle.

◇ Toner

- Toner isn't a necessity in my routine, but it's nice to have sometimes. Even then, I only need 1 bottle.

◇ Body Lotion

- I only need 1 big bottle and maybe 1-3 8 oz bottles.

◇ Body Oil

- I only need 1 bottle of baby oil.

◇ Face Masks

- I only need 1 bottle of mud mask or 1 pack of paper masks.

STATIONERY/JOURNALING SUPPLIES

(I will give myself the permission to go crazy even if I have enough stuff if I have the opportunity to go to Daiso since I don't live near one)

◇ Coloring tools

- I only need one set that includes atleast rainbow, black, brown, and pink. In the future, I think I'm gonna try to stick to mostly crayons and colored pencils for environmental reasons.

◇ Stickers

- Honestly, for this one I could go crazy on buying them until it feels right, but only if I have like 5 left. For vinyl stickers, I only need a big pack on amazon, but only if I have none left. This one varies. I believe I have the impulse control to not overdo it over one shopping spree for stickers.

- I also have a bag full of pretty cutouts from magazines I use as a substitute for stickers.

◇ Notepads/Scrap Paper

- I only need 3-6 and maybe a pack of construction paper.

- I also keep a bag of scrap paper to reuse for journaling.

◇ Washi Tape

- I only need 5-10.

◇ Notebooks

- I only need to buy 5. Otherwise, I will get gifted one or I will come across one randomly that I have to take home with me. The limit I've given myself is 10. By the way, Composition notebooks are awesome.

◇ Highlighters

- I only need a pack.

◇ Stamps

- I have stamp sets where all I have to do is buy stamp pads when they run out, but for the cute instant refillable ones, I'll allow myself to get 3-6 at a time if I want to.

◇ Erasers

- I only need a pack of rubber rectangle ones and maybe 3 cute ones.

Those are the products I'm project panning.

For the beauty products, I've learned that I need to buy in moderation because one eyeshadow palette could last me YEARS. And almost half of my body sprays date back to middle school. I'm in college now. They also don't have to be expensive to be good quality. I like drugstore brands and I find some of the best things from TJMaxx, Marshalls, or Ross.

For the stationary products, I've learned that I need to buy in moderation. Again, I still have shit from elementary school. I've also learned that I don't need to buy fancy overpriced stationery. I love Daiso. Hehehehehehe daiso I love daiso.

Anyways, this is where I need to get with my project pan. Spending money normally and not like a hoarder. If you have any tips to how I can use my products faster without wasting them, let me know.

Don’t burn them, the heavy metals would end up straight back in the ground. If the concentration is high enough, it could even create seriously harmful toxic fumes.

Lead, arsenic, and mercury suck so bad because they *can’t* be broken down into a completely harmless format. They are chemical elements, you’d have to alter their atomic structure.

Until we get Star Trek matter-replicator type fantasy future tech, there ISN’T a zero-waste solution.

Bag ‘em and make the appropriate waste disposal company deal with ‘em.

Which type of waste disposal is most appropriate will depend on various factors, such as how high the concentration is in the stalks, how many of them you have to get rid of, what your local regulations are, and what kind of facilities are available.

Look up your town’s hazardous waste program and see what it says.

Small-scale, low-level, it probably gets classified as regular degular household trash. When in doubt, err on the side of caution. In our capitalist hellscape, even waste management facilities are susceptible to unscrupulous regulation-dodging profit-driven bullshit.

The ultimate goal is to get the stalks handed off to a facility that will separate and consolidate the nasty shit, and store it somewhere safe where it won’t hurt anyone or be returned to the environment.

Large scale, sunflowers ARE literally used to mop up nuclear fallout and industrial-level soil contamination. It’s called “phytoremediation” and it’s really cool!

The average suburban lawn would benefit immensely from a year or two of sunflowers.

Test your soil! Get curious about the land you live on! Try to leave it better than you found it!

Loving reminder from your land history auntie:

North American golf courses have had 50-100 years of arsenic and mercury based fungicide and herbicides applied to their soils.

Do not eat anything that has been grown on a golf course or downstream from a golf course. I know it sounds cool and radical, but you are too valuable to poison yourself with heavy metals.

Protect each other, turn your local golf course into a pollinator garden, not a sex forest or community garden.

Switch off the light when you don’t need it. Turn off the radiator or the AC and get a blanket or fluffy socks if it’s cold. If your PC is running but you’re not using it, turn it off. Don’t buy a one-use plastic bottle, buy a reusable, sustainable bottle you can refill daily. Go for a bike ride instead of going anywhere with your car!
