A Future Return For O.W.C.A. Files? (Discussion):
Tumblr media
A frame from the OWCA Files theme song sequence.
O.W.C.A Files is a 1 hour special that premiered on Disney XD November 9, 2015 a while after Phineas And Ferb’s “final” episode.
It was one of the possible spin-offs the creators thought about doing, but it didn’t really go anywhere. It followed the B-plot characters post Doofenshmirtz turning good which is a smart idea for a spin-off since most people tended to like the B-part of the story better while more were bored with the A-plot.
However, among the fanbase it is a pretty controversial episode. Some complaints are that Doofenshmirtz is too annoying in the episode, the character design isn’t great, animation is mediocre, the pacing isn’t good, and the existence of the “Bits of All Of Us” song which some found very pre-school-like.
Tumblr media
It definitely could have used Norm or Vanessa to balance out the absence of another talking being while also toning down Doof’s annoying-ness over the course of a series, but I still think it was a pretty solid episode with other Phineas And Ferb level songs and shows the Doof n’ Perry action packed secret agent show spin-off that could have been.
Other spin-offs like a Fireside Girls one and Doof 101 were also contemplated, but out of many different show pitches, Milo Murphy’s Law would ultimately become the next show Dan and Swampy would work on instead, as well as the next Dwampyverse show.
Tumblr media
But could O.W.C.A. Files still be?
Before the revival was announced the creators have always talked about how they might one day revisit the show in “the next summer”.
Since it’s starting to look more and more like the Phineas And Ferb Revival will take place in the next summer while also visiting other episodes of the characters in the future it is possible that we could see an O.W.C.A. Files like B-Plot in a future episode once again, especially since Doofenshmirtz might likely be good after he turned good in the Season 4 Finale and after the events of Milo Murphy’s Law.

Doof does return to evil in the timeline though.
When it comes to the episodes that Doof is still evil in, but take place after the events of the Summer, (the Christmas and New Years specials/ etc.), Co-Creator Dan Povenmire’s explanation was that sometime after the events of Doof 101 (the fall after the summer) and before or after OWCA Files (I forget) Doof relapsed to an evil phase again which is believable, but after the events of Milo Murphy’s Law where his new, less evil, destiny is revealed it is less likely the creators will want to make him evil again unless they decide to switch of the Dwampyverse timeline once again🫠.

Milo Murphy’s Law and O.W.C.A. files both proved the B-Plot does not rely on Doofenshmirtz to be evil for entertainment. Not to mention some of the most memorable moments of the B-plot in the series have Doof being pretty tame and actually working together with Perry to accomplish a task.
However, it still seems unclear whether the crew or executives will decide to make him evil again or not in order to capture the same charm of the original show. We’ll just have to wait for the next announcement of new details soon.
Overall, it’s probably about a 50/50 chance whether the B-Plot will be an O.W.C.A. Files like Doof n Perry duo fighting evil, or not.
Even if nothing like that appears in the revival, Povenmire did sign a deal with Disney to make additional shows for the Disney Channel, including properties for the Dwampyverse, which means something like O.W.C.A. Files could still be on the table as a future show.
Tumblr media
How do you think they will handle the show?
Also, feel free to point out any details in the essay that should be changed.

You, Doof fans! Which spin-off would you have liked to be canon?
I kinda am attached to both.
The former for the sake of more Dooflene, more Vanessa and Doof moments, Perry being a teacher and potentially some episodes on Vanessa’s friends which I always got fun vibes from. It could work the best in canon because the things that went awry could be reworked to be the events of ‘Last Day of Summer’, ‘The Phineas and Ferb Effect’ and Doof’s consequential MML arc. As part of his attempts to being good, he could finally leave the Murphy household, get his own home and a job at Danville High.
Oh wow, another Doof lie tangent, anyway the latter would just be fun for the sake of O.W.C.A. lore and potentially using the scrapped Dr. Destructicon concept through an O.W.C.A Files exclusive special.

DTVA/DTS TAGTEAM TWEET-ATHON MOVIE #83: THE O.W.C.A. FILES (2015)
I’m gonna be honest, you shoulda left this in drafts.
I’ve always been of the mind that Phineas and Ferb are the least interesting parts of their own show, but I also have always been of the mind that you need both the Doof vs Perry story and the Phineas and Ferb build something story for an episode to work.
If you only focused on one, the show would be much less interesting. This special is an obvious backdoor pilot for a spin off series that gets rid of the Phineas and Ferb storylines, and gives top billing to a story about OWCA characters, and it’s definitely funny.
...but
I don’t think this needed to be a TV show. I’m glad it wasn’t, but I also didn’t need it to be a Special Episode. It takes the core of what made the original series special, and kind of messes with it. It does have a new supplemental story, however. It’s about bugs.
The bugs are really funny, but I don’t think they work as a side story that ties in with this world. I’d like them better as a series of shorts a la Looney Tunes or Animaniacs.
As it’s own thing it’s fine, but I don’t think it would have worked. I’m glad Milo Murphy’s Law was the real next step for these guys...until it wasn’t. Anyway, the movies fine.

Not sure if this has been asked before, but do you know how old Doof was when he was raised by Ocelots? Was he raised for only a portion of his life and reassimilated into his family or was he raised by ocelots into adulthold?
There’s no official answer available to my knowledge! However, according to his initial flashback to the event in “The Chronicles of Meap,” Doof’s young child model (AKA the pre-/baby Roger one) is used, which means he should be younger than five years old (which is when his older child model is used) when the ocelots adopted him!
To clarify: as Doof ages, his facial structure seems to become more elongated/less boxy (for a comprehensive delineation of this process--and beyond, since i’m on the subject--look under the cut).
Tumblr media
As for being raised by the ocelots, he was indeed only part of their family for a short period of his life before he was re-assimilated into his old family! In “The Chronicles of Meap,” Doof explains that he had been working at the carnival dunk tank because he had been disowned by his family/adopted by the ocelots, which led him to create Balloony. As Balloony was shown to be present in his lawn gnome period (that period’s character model is used up until a year after Roger’s birth), this means Doof’s parents took him back in before Roger was born.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Doof continues to be shown living in Drusselstein with his family of origin in numerous scenes (see the screenshots/gifs below the cut for more examples) up until he was tricked by his parents into leaving the country at the age of 16!
Tumblr media
(Though he then seemed to return to Drusselstein for a stint as a young adult, again pictured under the cut.)
Additionally, if you take “O.W.C.A. Files” as being canon, Doof also briefly lived with the ocelots as a baby after his parents abandoned him in the hospital until they evidently took him back (this had to have been an extremely short window of time, otherwise Doof wouldn’t have been able to survive or successfully assimilate back into society/not become a feral child due to missing critical period experiences).
Tumblr media
*Note: for some reason, “Make Play” uses Doof’s boxy/Young Child model during the time when Roger was a young child, but this seems to be an error considering how consistently his features change. I didn’t include it or every single image of Doof at each stage from other episodes because the focus is on the differences between models.
**Note x2: differentiating between his various adult stages mostly relies on context clues/accompanying backstories

Phineas and Ferb, Miscellaneous Songs Tournament!
We are going to do something a little different now. I have compiled 55 songs that are not part of any season of Phineas and Ferb, but are nonetheless considered part of it. So I decided to put them all in a tournament and see what results come out of it!
Here are the first round matchups:
What Does the Fox Say? (Doof Daily/DDD) vs Meet Our Leader
Girls' Day Out vs Animatin' Rap
Perry the Platy-Bus vs We're Back
Bits of All of Us vs Perry Saves Christmas (Frosty the Snowman)
Unsung Hero vs Jack Black's jam (hangin' out with Phineas and Ferb)
Dodgers Etiquette song vs Open Quantum Style (DDD)
Phineas and Ferb's Dad-inator song vs I'm Done Really (DDD)
Farmer's wife's song vs Jason Segel's rhyming song
Isabella's Dad-inator song vs Walking Through an Alien Landscape
Adulting vs Such a Beautiful Day
This is Our Inspirational Song vs Just Wanna See You Smile
Quirky Worky Song vs The 12 Days of Christmas (PnF version)
Doofenshmirtz Evil Jingle vs My Secret Agent
Doof and Agent P's Dad-inator song vs Andy Samberg's rap (The Boys Who Make Summer Fun)
The OWCA Files vs Greenland Song (DDD)
Where the Heck Were We? vs The Doof Raps on Rap (DDD)
Phineas and Ferb theme vs How We Make Phineas and Ferb
The Elf Police vs They Left Me Standing Outside
Silhouettes vs Step Into the Great Unknown
The Platypus Walk vs We're Gonna Put on a Show!
We Wish You a Perry Christmas (commercial) vs I'm Bringing my Muffin Through an Interdimensional Portal
Us Against the Universe vs Vanessa's Dad-inator song
This is Our Battle Song vs O.W.C.A. (Y.M.C.A. Remix)
Once again, a friendly reminder that the bracket is completely randomized. So the fact that two of the matchups are completely within CATU is coincidental.
Since you probably haven't heard of or don't remember all of these, feel free to vote for only some of them. (Not that it wasn't an option before, but I just want to remind you.) Or feel free to look them up on the wiki: https://phineasandferb.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_songs
The Take Two songs are for some reason not on the wiki, so view the Jack Black episode here instead: https://youtu.be/wTQEtH8Qjuo
And the Andy Samberg episode: https://youtu.be/s39nsXfWveU
And the Jason Segel episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8h5uPAYNOs
Also, vote here: https://forms.gle/MdyUB8nJt7aaQAf97
And view the new bracket here: https://challonge.com/7t24ww6m
I will end this round in the middle of this week sometime.

Do you know that if Big City Greens is getting a third season with 30 episodes, it will be the first Disney TVA series not produced for Disney Junior since Phineas & Ferb to get more than 80 half hours of episodes since the series' total half hours will be 90 half hours?
Well S3 obviously is happening but the question of how many episodes S3 is gonna have is still a question, if it gets 30 the amount will be 90th half hours.
And to clear on Phineas And Ferb if we include The O.W.C.A Files & P&F Star Wars, the total of half hours is 136 half hours making one of the most longest Disney TVA Series besides Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Sorry if this has been asked before, but do you know what episodes are more OWCA based? (ex: “Undercover Carl” “Where’s Perry” or that one where Perry was a butler) Love this blog btw!
The butler episode was “The Remains of the Platypus,” and here are some more O.W.C.A.-centric ones: “Thanks But No Thanks,” “Sidetracked,” “I Was a Middle Aged Robot,” “Minor Monogram,” “Agent Doof,” “No More Bunny Business,” “Sipping with the Enemy,” "Druselsteinoween," “It’s About Time!” “Misperceived Monotreme,” “Perry the Actorpus” “Traffic Cam Caper,” “Excaliferb,” “Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!” “Phineas and Ferb Save Summer,” and “O.W.C.A. Files!” I’m glad you like the blog!

What are your hopes and expectations (and also fears) for CATU?
I haven’t been thinking too hard about Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe because i’m worried about working myself up about it prematurely (I didn’t really like “O.W.C.A. Files” or the MML crossover, so i’m not sure if i’ll like another post-series creation), but I do hope it’s not just a remix of past episodes we’ve seen! I also hope that Isabella gets a role in the story (one of the reasons I didn’t like the crossover, among other things), which seems probable if the rumor I was told about her getting a duet with Doof is true (part of my not thinking involves not looking at trailers or Dwampy reveals, so please don’t send me any further spoilers). I kind of expect them to have Phineas be angry again since they’ve even joked in-show (”Phineas and Ferb Save Summer”) about how he only does that during special episodes, and I do fear that they’re going to try to be relevant to modern times and screw up the timeline (though if that happens, I suppose I could write off the movie since it’s post-series/you can’t retroactively change a show once it’s over + the multiverse was shown in “Lost in Danville”/Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension to be a real thing in the PnFverse).

Hey you might know my brother and I were talking about the whole doof was raised by ocelots bit, could you point me to the episode(s) that talk about that if you’ve got the time?
Doof being raised by ocelots was mentioned in “The Chronicles of Meap”/Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension/”Skiddley Whiffers”/”Agent Doof”/”This is Your Backstory”/”It’s No Picnic”/”O.W.C.A. Files!”

I know perry is technically certified fearless but we all know that’s bull. Do you know which episodes show him genuinely scared?
Hmm, it’s kind of hard for me to parse out “scared” from “shocked” or “panicked,” but when considering context: he was scared enough from Doof’s driving to be left shaking in “The Doonkelberry Imperative,” the way he wakes up and the fact that “Phineas and Ferb Get Busted” was his nightmare indicated that he was scared of losing the Flynn-Fletchers as his host family, he looks scared when being chased by Professor Parenthesis towards the end of “O.W.C.A. Files,” he’s scared when being chased by the thugs in “Phineas and Ferb Save Summer,” the scare cords indicate he was horrified when Doof initially showed off his platypus form in “Doofapus” and by the escape-proof trap in “Blackout!” he’s shown to be scared in “Spa Day” when Doof falls off D.E.I., he seems scared several times throughout Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension, “Night of the Living Pharmacists,” and “Primal Perry,” he gets scared in “Act Your Age” when Doof zapped himself with the Mid-Life Crisis-Inator, and the time when Doof fell off of D.E.I. in “Last Day of Summer” was arguably one of his most terrified expressions in the series!
