‘The unforgettable was yesterday. The measure here is not the time but the value. And the most precious of all things, whether happy or sad, is our childhood. Don’t forget the unforgettable.’

Apád-anyád idejöjjön - a 219. epizód
Apád-anyád idejöjjön – a 219. epizód
Legújabb adásunkban folytatjuk a klasszikusok adaptációinak szemléjét, és ezúttal Erich Kästner örökbecsű műve, A két Lotti egyik feldolgozására esett a választásunk, ez pedig a Parent Trap, azaz az Apád-anyád idejöjjön. I was reading up on regency for the Chameleon Arch thing like @/rlainarin  wisely suggested and it awoke a kind of, Wants To Mostly Have Whimsical Fun In A Disney-Like “Little Historical Town” setting side of me, although still adress Work and Money and Society VS Historical Detail Realism Setting side of me and after a fight between them I came to realize that I’m as concerned w Tone as with setting, and for the level of non-Written For-Fun story im doing tone might be more critical, so. i think tone wise, it all comes back to Erich Kastner for me. Some Poverty And Crime as experiences the characters tangle with and effect their lived experience but its kid friendly and hopeful and Fun/Whimsy centered approach to reality. Specifically like Puntchen And Anton / Emil And The Detectives Kastner, obviously tiny man and 35th and whatever have a different approach to reality lol, but. not adding this to the post cuz its not relevant enough but thats how the thinking’s going

Quote
Most people put their childhood away as if it was an old hat. They forget it as if it was a phone number that does not apply anymore. They think about their life as if it was a salami which they are eating slice by slice and then they become grown-ups, but what are they now? Only those who grow up and still remain children are real human beings.
Erich Kastner
