hello!! my name is sozila, and this is my first ever work on tumblr/ao3 so bear with me if my writing seems a little elementary :,) let me know what you think, esp if it's constructive feedback! i've been a huge fic reader since i was 11, if that's any solace <3 (i'm in my second year of college now lmao) this piece really just came to me because i craved older brother sukuna and breezed through every fic with him in it. also, i wanted to incorporate parts of my college experience and hence the allegory to infectious diseases, i promise i'll hash it out adequately soon haha <3 also to note: i'm aware this chapter is rather short, but i intend to make longer chapters as the story continues! until then, here's a little bit of what i have :) enjoy!

incubation. (part one) you were 2 years into being best friends with yuuji itadori before you saw him. an idea of him was created in your head through a web of yuuji’s descriptions, megumi’s mild irritations. nobara’s hot-cold opinion that “he’s an insufferable asshole, but those tattoos do numbers on girls”. some part of you felt allured by the mystery of his identity, even though you knew exactly who he was. at least, as much as you could from the near-empty instagram account and pictures from yuuji’s childhood littering the apartment.

it was odd you didn’t meet until now, but university had other plans for you. it made sense though— as a pre-med student, you didn’t have much time to hang out or go to frat parties, as much as nobara complained about your lack of thrill for wilding out. you digressed, but promised as soon as you secured an internship you’d maybe allow a bottle of vodka on you, in the comfort of your shared apartment. yuuji and megumi never held your busy schedule against you; which you genuinely appreciated. you loved that whenever you did get to see them, things picked up right where you left off.

which is why you were surprised at the very least to be met with someone you knew yet were so unfamiliar with standing before you when you knocked on yuuji’s door.

“you one of yuu’s new leeches or what?”

your brows furrowed a little more at the jab on your character, but you utter nothing as you take in the fact ryomen itadori isn’t a mythical brother your best friend made up. he looks exactly like the lockscreen picture on yuuji’s phone, save for a couple new tattoos on his face and arms. his hair was a mix between a mean undercut and ivy league, sporting the same pink hue of his younger brother’s. a simple silver chain hung on his neck which drew you downwards to his chest. he was definitely built much bigger and wider than yuuji. coarse, and just.. raw. you register you’ve been staring at this man clad only in a wife pleaser and joggers for an inappropriately long time and clear your throat, straightening, holding your bag a little closer as if it was going to disappear with a glance of his sanguine eyes.

“you gonna stand there all day, or should i close the door on ya?”

his gruff voice now laced with irritation led you to match his demeanor. you give him a wry, plastered smile and push past him. he lets you, surprisingly.

“can’t really go in with you blocking the entire entryway, asshole.”

he doesn’t acknowledge the blatant insult and walks towards the kitchen. your nose catches it first- he was cooking something really good. suddenly, he yells over his shoulder while he stirs the pot.

“yuuji c’mon, i’m not babysitting for your ass!”

the thomp-thomp-thomps of yuuji’s footsteps follow with him hurrying down the stairs and he flashes a dorky smile to you. “sorry, sorry! you met my lovely best friend then, aniki?”

he grunts without turning around. you didn’t even consider this a conservation, but yuuji seemed unphased by his wet-blanket personality. guess older brotherhood looked like this. yuuji flits around the stove where he’s working to stick a finger in the pot and steal a taste, which sukuna smacked him upside the head for.

rubbing the back of head, yuuji then turns and faces you to give your arms a little squeeze. “megs is running a little late from swim team practice, but he’ll be here soon. ryo made dinner for us though!” he quips brightly.

with a whip of his head and a withering look, you deduced sukuna wasn’t aware of this information, but grumbled to himself. you made out a “motherfucker” and “freeloader” in his long curse.

you pull your happy-go-lucky friend a little out of earshot and bring him to your level to whisper harshly. “yuu, i don’t want to inconvenience your brother.. he already seems pissed i exist,” you murmur. your gaze returns to the giant man in the kitchen and something tickles in your chest. immediately he slaps your shoulder and chortles, as if you told him something outlandish. “don’t even worry! he acts like that all the time, he just doesn’t know you well enough yet.”

you weren’t sure you even wanted him to.

it was 7:30 when you heard the ring of the doorbell and your head lifts from the snug placement you took on the couch. sukuna had already slipped away upstairs so yuuji answers this time, much to your dismay. you lament internally that megumi wouldn’t face the same frosty welcome as you did. you hear two voices instead of just the one you expected and crane over to see a certain red headed girl you knew. she beams upon noticing your peeking form. “you’re here early, miss i-have-no-time-for-my-beloved-friends,” quicker than you could react, she was already beelining to jump on you with a smothering hug.

you try to muster a clear response but get muffled by her puffy knit sweatshirt. “if you checked your phone you’d know i told you!” you push your computer out of reach so it wouldn’t be swept in the tornado that was nobara kugisaki.

megumi had already taken a seat on the rug beside yuuji, deep in conversation about winter finals. however, it became evident it was more megumi lecturing yuuji on course material and the latter looking more confused and stressed by the second.

you move nobara enough to clap your hands and catch their attention.

“if you guys utter the word ‘exams’ one more time, i swear will explode.”

nobara snorts above you and knocks on your head. “look who’s talking. is your memory shot to hell or do you not remember all the times you bring it up yourself?”

“she literally did this afternoon,” yuuji mumbles with a pout. you throw a decorative pillow at him.

“hey! don’t forget i literally made your study schedule for you. and even the studious want a little break,” you defend with a huff. nobara d’awws and squishes your cheeks. “my poor little baby! however did you survive.”

“you guys suck. i deserve nothing but love and affection.”

yuuji rolls his eyes and whines. “oh my goood, yes we love you and appreciate you, hugs kisses rainbows blah blah— i wanna watch a movie already!”

you giggle at his antics as nobara pushes off you, walking to the unabashedly large TV and starts filing through yuuji’s big movie bookshelf. “what are we feeling tonight? fast and furious, ladybird, jigsaw..”

after a couple minutes you all agree on midsommar, which you protested but lost in a 3 to 1 vote (democracy is a joke). you could never sleep properly after a good horror movie, hence you always watched them during the daytime. but because your friends were evil, namely nobara, you had to endure some at night and ended up sleepless and jumpy. “if you can’t sleep, just slip in with me tonight,” nobara counters with a dismissive wave. while you knew neither nobara nor her girlfriend, maki, would bat an eye because of their long friendship with you, you worried for your own well-being. nobara was a huge kicker in her sleep (she denies this profusely). too many times after a night out you’d wake up on the floor with bruises on your side while nobara dozed peacefully, starfish-ed on the bed. you sigh and accept your fate.

the movie ends up being just as if not more unsettling than you expected. you knew nobara clocked out much earlier than you thought when you heard no reaction to the bear scene (never getting that image out of your brain, you fear). you stretch your neck to assess who’s out. beyond the dirty plates on the coffee table from the dinner sukuna “made” for you all, you can make out yuuji cradled into megumi’s chest, snoring lightly. the urchin haired boy didn’t stir much either, so you peel from nobara’s vice-like grip on you to throw a blanket over the two of them. out of the corner of your eye, you see yuuji cuddle into megumi a little more, a small smile on his dozing face. god, you eagerly await the day they could be honest about their feelings. you step back around quietly to adjust nobara on the couch into a more comfortable position.

to navigate out with a better light you fish your jeans for your phone but to your dismay, are met with empty pockets. it didn’t help that your nerves on high alert and the living room was lit only by the glow from the tv. something straight out of a horror movie. genuinely fuck my life. you frown as you crouch down to feel around underneath the couch. after a few minutes of helpless padding later, the task seemed fruitless and you began to retreat to yuuji’s room. nothing could prepare you to feel a big, cold hand palm your shoulder. you freeze, your spine going icy. is this how i’m going to die? swiveling faster than your mind could compute you almost let out a bloodcurdling shriek, only to be met with the same cold hand pressing your mouth shut.

“are you fuckin’ mental?”

sanguine eyes bore back into yours and you fight the urge to bite the hand pressing on you. the audacity of this guy was baffling, really.

you shove him off and glare pointedly.

“me? i’m mental? says the dick who decided to sneak up on someone and grab them like a fucking serial killer!”

you jab a finger on his chest, seething in a whisper. his chest, in reality, was much harder than you anticipated and your finger probably hurt more than the attack on him.

a step. he’s closer to you and now in possession of said finger.

“i lightly tapped you. the rest was damage control, sweetheart.”

“sweetheart?”

“i can’t call you that?”

“how about you don’t call me anything, ever? thanks.”

“makes sense that i can’t call you. got your phone, and all.”

your mouth drops a little. “what?” he snickers. “if you weren’t so busy trying to curse me into the next domain, you’d realize i’ve had your phone in my hand this whole time. fuckin’ idiot.”

lo and behold, your phone was nestled in his raised hand, looking much smaller than you remembered. or was it that his hand was just that large in comparison? how big was this guy, really? part of you wanted to stop everything and just ask him to hold different objects and compare how they perceived in his grasp. but reality struck and you recall this is the same guy who just scared the living daylights out of you.

you yank it out of his stupid mammoth hand, ripping his grasp on you in the process and take a step back. you were awfully close to one another upon closer inspection.

“not an idiot, by the way. 4.0 gpa doesn’t exactly scream stupid.”

“idiocy applies to everyone, sweetheart. regardless of how much you dick ride your textbooks.”

every word that left his mouth had a lilt to it. the laughter in his eyes, his head cocked to the side.. he was messing with you and relished it. that pissed you off. who the fuck was he to decide who you were? what you stood for? you had barely known this imaginary-but-actually-real brother for a couple hours, and here he was insulting and teasing you all in one gift-wrapped present. what gave him the confidence to be so insufferable? and better yet, what could you do to stomp it out?

“go to hell, sukuna.”

you were unwilling to stay in his irritating presence for a moment more. your face was stony and unrelenting, your foot tapping incessantly in impatience. you wanted to slap his face off, but thankfully for him, your best friends were in dreamland just a few feet away.

“goodnight, idiot.”

your feet padded angrily up the stairs and you could still feel those dark sanguine eyes boring into your skull and all over your body. you decided that imaginary or not, yuuji itadori's older brother was the most pompous asshole you've ever had the displeasure of meeting. you didn’t get hit with your skin radiating heat until you closed the door of yuujii’s bedroom behind you. question is, was it anger or arousal?

i really wanted to mix revival and older replica for this one. the thigh-high boots, sparkly, tasseled dress, and generally the wig are all revival inspired, but the curly fur stays and the makeup is old because i really do like the very dramatic, gothic grizabella looks. her coat is also heavily 2019 inspired with the length and stripey purple fabric

i also was not sure how i wanted to do her hair other than it covering one eye (SHOUTOUT TO THE FANART I SAW WHICH HAD THAT. I CANNOT REMEMBER THE URL) esp the color so i did a gradient of light grey to dark brown, which i REALLY liked ! it also helped me decide that shed be chocolate smoke instead of a tabby

i very much want to emphasize the "proud" and "indomitable" of her character in my portrayal of her; think betty buckley. i think shed be 61 in human years.

HER DESIGN... is very similar to her replica one because.... i really like it. very heavy emphasis in how her makeup is sometimes done with the HUGE lower lashes and squiggles. she also gets a cute little pink nose and blue eyeshadow

very 2019 inspired also. the hat, tasseled jumpsuit and bejeweled tap shoes stay ...... but i did want to give her the vest and collar from 2019. i just like that. shes also fat because yes

she remains sweet and nice yes. but i think warsaw was onto something when they made her Like That. shed be 56 in human years

i ORIGINALLY drew her design a month and a half ago with the headcanon that shes gus' caretaker but bro. that jellylorum & asparagus jr. & gus family angst potential was too great. so i redid her as looking closer to gus. :3

idk why but i decided to go with a 1940s inspired formal look for her.... i quite like the hat and think it helps her to stand out, so i'm comfortable in that decision. her fur design is also mostly replica inspired. enjoy her neapolitan ice cream makeup too

she also gets a pink nose and her collar from the 2019 version. idk why the collars went so hard in that movie

i LOVE one of her 3 words being practical... yes, she is THE practical cat. i think shed be 59 in human years

VERY replica inspired.... with notes of other productions. opera populaire had full glasses bustopher which i liked. an older makeup look also had stripes which i also thought looked nice (and makes him look more related to mistoffelees) ! there are also multiple bustopher designs that have the moustache and beard 2 for 1 dealio..... and decided to incorporate that as well

he also gets the fishbone hanky crevat thing and a fishbone brooch. i almost made his rose white but i liked the contrast of the red. enough that i decided to give him lipstick too . and youd best believe that he has a giant fucking pipe that he smokes out of

i love the idea of him being the older generations' tugger in his time. i believe it. i think hed be like 55 in human years

I COULDNT RESIST BASING HIM OF THE MOVVIEEEEEE im not sorry that was peak skimble. the whistle and chains, the MATCHING conductor hat and pants, the moustache, the tap shoes..... truly, it was too good. my only regret was that i couldnt show the suspenders in this design because i wanted to keep the vest

i did keep the makeup/fur pattern very similar to his replica design though. idk. its just good. emphasis on the brown in his tail, the brown of his clothes, and the bell

lets go babey asparagus jr. inclusion ! i Really struggled with the clothes because i wanted to include the weird yarn poncho but didnt want to make him look hippyish (hippies are cool it just wasnt the vibe i was going for).... so it is reincarnated as this strange tassel-y scarf shawl thing. idk

he also gets a collar similar to jellylorum's because i like the idea of them living in the same house :^3. his makeup is also pretty different from how it appeared in the 98 version because i wasnt really feeling it. i like stripes. so stripes he shall get

hes also wearing a corset thing. idk what my propensity for designing men with a slightly feminine touch says about me (IM A FEMININE QUEER MAN)

MUH OLD MAN... i love him. very much based on a bunch of different replica designs for him. he gets a beard and sideburns because i think i really do love the costumes w facial hair, and i think it just fits. he also gets glasses

he gets the coat and handkerchief (now a scarf) that typically hides the growltiger costume... which has a crisp formal outfit underneath. maybe he takes the coat off during his number to signify having moments of clarity and humor during his song

i do think in my interpretation hes well enough to joke around during his number and play the rumpus cat but like. damn you can tell this cat is old. hed be like 93 in human years

ANYWAY YEAH UH. shes very different from the replica deut and other nonrep deuts mostly thanks to judi dench, with her saying that her version of deut was a transgender woman, and her complaining about not looking regal enough in the movie. here you go girly. the nose freckles/dots from some replica makeup get to stay though

she gets a lot of design notes from her children. the grey from munkustrap, macavitys white eyelashes, eye and mouth makeup, and tuggers cheek heart. shes also a light grey to kind of reflect her appearance in 2019

I see many people saying (or mixed opinions) saying Aemond's High Valyrian was weak, the grammers not correct, the pronounciation all wrong and stuff. But how so exactly?The show creators might be complete assholes towards the writing, but one thing they ARE good at, is creating the world of ASOIAF. And in no way they would let a character's actor get in front of the camera without a proper knowledge of what is written in the script, or having been verified by experts. Plus , con lang english romanizations exists. The actors just get a brief idea of how to drag and pronounce certain drag and rolls on the letters, rest are just memorized from what is written in the script.

It is why actors, during games in interviews are not able to answer what is the meaning of basic valyrian words such as ''Zaldrizes'' or ''Perzys'' etc. Cuz they spend much time on perfecting their roles and getting thru to learn an entire diff language. Romanizations are always written in the script, they just need to take the time to memorize and perfect their accents.

Yet people are coming and saying Aemond's HV sounds horrible, or stuff is not correct. But Where? He said what he was supposed to say, with perfectly emotions laced to it. Sometimes it is difficult to get grip on the theme you want to interlace within the language u are speaking; esp languages u r def reading memorized from script. So one needs to focus on the language itself, AS WELL AS the emotions they want to convey. Aemond sounded mocking, sarcastic and definitely intended to get on Aegon's nerves; thus his HV adapts that way as well. You will notice when he speaks HV, he very much sounds like his own self; that is Aemond's own soft, almost evil-siren-smooth tone he goes for as in Common Tongue. So considering it, the HV came out really well, breaking off and chaining back to a gentle flow.

Besides, the construct of the sentences and hard words were DELIBERATE. Aemond was taunting Aegon, knowing his brother cannot for the life of him piece two HV words tgthr. This complex constructions, now smhw seemed like mistakes to yall.

HV's accent does not roam around one singular one. We saw Dany's one being clear and frankly, HONESTLY not rolled and flowy enough. It was like she was pronouncing english words. But it was expected. Targaryens were nearly extinct and Dany learned her Val mixed with Essosi and Lyseni dialects. She even says ''Dracarys'' in a way it LOOKS like it should sound, whereas it actually shud lean heavily on ''Thra-ka-ris'', The way she had said to that Slave Trader holding Drogon.

Then when HOTD came out, it is set in a time where Targaryen dynasty was flourishing and thus the Valyrian culture amongst them was heavy; all having Dragon Keepers and their own fam members to guide them thru. They all have different accents you will notice, Milly as young Rhaenyra has one that flows naturally and multiples words chain into the other which often cannot be understood when matching with the written romanizations. She pronounces her ''J''s like ''h'' or at times a mildly heavy ''g''. Daemon's one is, tbh one of the best and he rolls his accent perfectly, although still leaning on a heavier side. Emma's one is more similar to Matt's too. All actors are given even a small amount of freedom in how they speak HV in their terms; and the accent varies. It gives a look into the character they are playing. Everyone learns the language in the same way, but they adapt it to a form comfortable in their own mouth and goes with it. Bcz that is what Valyrians are supposed to be, they are not fixed to one single form; they are open to everything. It is at the end of the day the language sinking into your character, as a part of who you are.

So Aemond's HV was good. Not only that, but brilliant as he is supposed to be, as a person who trained to immaculacy all his life. He managed to not sound robotic in a language Ewan barely knows and tried to pour the theme aimed for and how Aemond would talk in Common Tongue in the HV. Besides, if u match it with romanizations in the script you will find that not a single one of his words are incorrect. His rolls on the ''Y'' and ''a''s are fascinating and somehow suits just right for character.

So do not come at him yall, he would not speak if it was not approved by the showrunners, or that he does not roll the accent or forms the sentences in ways that you feel it is incorrect. The showrunners are fools, but they are not THAT big of fools to not review the foreign language speaking with respectable experts.

Even if they ARE fools in this regard too and somehow overlooked certain things, do not blame aemond or Ewan. It is the producers own doing. But i doubt the latter will be the case knowing how concentrated Condal tends to be on small details.

Oughhghh been thinking about petplay recently, specifically with the 2nd beastkinsona I conceptualized for that Kabru fic. A little bit of backstory I made for them because it’s kinda relevant to the dynamic: this sona is mixed with a shapeshifter (the ones that read minds and create illusions out of leaves). They saw the people that owned them as their family, but knew because of their mind reading abilities that the feeling wasn’t mutual, even though they were outwardly very affectionate to Shifter, praising them, giving gifts, etc… They only did this as a means of keeping control over them. Shifter is convinced for a long time that they can earn genuine love from them if they keep using their powers for whatever unsavory things they ask for, before eventually being like “fuck these guys, actually. They only love me for my cool and awesome mind powers and illusions. I’m out of here.”

Anyways, Shifter meets Kabru and IMMEDIATELY dislikes him because they can see how he sees them in his mind, and it doesn’t match how he acts towards them, and it reminds them of their “family”. They can’t stand his fake ass. But then when their annoying self-absorbed ass actually manages to pull a genuine reaction of distaste from him, they have to pause and evaluate some things about themself because why was that kinda….. 🥴 cus they’re so used to being spoiled that it’s like they’ve never considered that someone could be condescending or mean to them, so they’re completely caught off guard by how it makes them feel. Shapeshifters (at least in comparison to other monsters) seem pretty cowardly, and I think that bleeds into their personality. They’d submit embarrassingly quickly if Kabru decided to stop playing nice with them.

EMMET COHEN with Nicole Glover, Sasha Berliner, Russell Hall, and Kyle Poole with Miki Yamanaka, LIVE FROM EMMET’S PLACE, 22 MARCH 2021

LIVE FROM EMMET’S PLACE, a refuge during Lockdown that I didn’t visit enough, is coming to an end in the Fall. I caught individual tunes, especially the Footprints that I’ll include here, but my first full show was with ANAT COHEN last week. So there’s a whole cache to explore that will pose getting You Tube Premium as there were 12 ad interruptions over these 100 minutes. EMMET COHEN brought lots of players, veterans and up and comers alike, to his apartment in Harlem and started streaming them. Brilliant!

This one is a fitting place to start. Like EMMET himself, Nicole Glover is a bright young face of jazz. If anything, I’m a bigger fan of hers than of Cohen who is the right mix of smart prowress and deep respect of the tradition/s. Both though are discoveries of Lockdown, though I guess I saw him and this rhythm section as part of a workshop with Marquis Hill and Melissa Aldana at Jazz St Louis. This show falls on the heels of my discovery of Glover as part of Palladium, a Wayne Shorter repertory ensemble, that performed Speak No Evil in its entirety at Smalls at the end of 2020. She took on the tenor role with respect but not undue reverence; she was totally her own voice. I’m sure I’d begun catching pre-jam sessions at Smalls with a trio which matched her power but didn’t let her tone it down. Still she was perfectly capable of pinning one’s ears back.

Here she, with Sasha Berliner who was also on the Speak No Evil gig, dig into the deep deep Wayne Shorter book with EMMET COHEN and his good old trio (Russell Hall with his purple Jimi Hendrix hat and probing lines and Kyle Poole’s infectious pulse. I suppose Cohen has outgrown them (certainly Glover outgrew her rhythm section at that same time) but they were good together.). They gave her room to breathe and the tunes, certainly meaty and challenging, have a space that her usual spikier repertoire didn’t.

The right material was there, even Getting to Know You which was evidently on Shorter’s first album. The closer was the later Meridanne—A Wood Sylph which Berliner did solo with interesting effects, a suggestion of the way New Music composers—and let’s think of Shorter that way at least occasionally—find the vibraphone expressive. The standard When I Fall in Love was for trio, but otherwise Lester Leaps In, Contemplation, and This is For Albert were tunes he brought into Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers while ESP was from the Miles years. Just as Glover was less frantic and rambunctious than I’ve heard her, Cohen didn’t quite have the same swagger as he did with the ebullient Anat Cohen. Glover is shy to the point of being almost dour. She plays intently and oh so well and then disappears.

About two thirds of the way through this Footprints, Cohen makes a seamless hand off of the piano chair to Miki Yamanaka suggesting parallels in their playing—smarts, power, thorough grounding. She is wry but clearly has fun. Glover seemed to relax too. It’s quite a gem.

Yamanaka posted on social media about hanging out with Glover ahead of a duo set. I commented hopefully about mashing up their bands as they both often play with Tyrone Allen and they could bring along both Kayvon Gordon for Glover’s part of the evening and Jimmy Macbride for Yamanaka’s. I got a thumbs up from Yamanaka herself. Obviously their collaborations go back a ways.

The main thing though is I’ll go back to EMMET’S PLACE again and often.

Haas: had to see what kmag and hulk wears day to day😭 but George gonna slay in this. Haas kept the design simple and stay true to the black, white and red concept. I love the jacket design on the left. Can see George slaying on that. This ⬇️ gon be 8/10

racing suits and fireproofs? No 💙 But this is better than Mazepin era Haas where that ugly Ural Kali logo is there. The current one stay true to red white black concept (i think haas fits red white black colour scheme than blue white one), the logo placement is not bad but can't see george slaying in this (his face still gonna save the whole thing tho) 6/10. Mid. George face card saving the fits tho

Aston Martin: If george can make petronas green beautiful, he can make aston martin green amazing. I think aston martin is one of the teams that is really creative with their fashion line (rb the least sorry). I dislike alonso's jacket on the left but lance's jacket is a slay for george (esp if he unzip the top zipper 👀). team shirt is amazing. Staying true to their white and green concept.

Racing suit and fireproofs is a yes. I love how "aramco" and "cognizant" font just clicks together (some teams' sponsor fonts ruin the clothes cuz they dont match). That big ass AM logo on the fireproof? YES. Not a fan of those big logo but George can wear these fits and slay AM green (i have proof for that)

Darker shade but aston martin is a yes for him. 8.5/10 for AM

Ferrari: MIXED FEELINGS. I'm sorry to ferrari george supporters but this thing is 2nd worse after mclaren. Ferrari's fits are authentic and screams FORZA FERRARI to anyone who wears it. The mix between red, black, yellow and slight white are very good combos but for george? No. I cannot imagine george in this

Ferrari fits can scream SCUDERIA FERRARI and McDonalds at the same time. Besides the last time we saw george in a bright red fit, he look goofy but pookie always handsome tho ❤️

Alfa Romeo: This yes. Black colour is for GEORGEEEE. I swear Alfa Romeo release one of the best fashion merch. Like??? SLAY?? I love the jacket + hat on top right. Reminds me of the tie dye merc merch george wears (and he slayed wearing that!!) I think AR logo is also very pretty + the fonts too

Alpha Tauri: Mid. I mean they stick with the white dark blue scheme but it's plain mid. However, i don't see how george would fail this. From shirts, jackets, racing suit and fireproofs. George wpuld slay this mid outfit and i'll give it a 7/10 (yukierre pics ☺️)

For anyone failing to imagine George in RB suit. I found this from a youtube thumbnail long time ago. I am fine with RB racing suits but the brand logo colours makes it look cheap.

i had a dream about george in an aston martin shirt (idk what happened) but imma rate (based on my imagination) george in other team's clothings:

-Mercedes: Love their sponsor/brand logos placement, good white and black colour logos which is basic and also classy at the same time, their trademark is honestly "PETRONAS" and it's kinda hot tbh. It fits George simple but classy outfit choice sometimes which is why he looks the best on merc merch no matter how mid they are. Merc always keeps it simple but classy 9.5/10

-Red Bull: I have mixed opinion abt this. George would look good on their main dark blue colour BUT the sponsor/brand logos kinda ruin it with their flashy dominant yellow-red colours😭😭. Plus those big ass bulls. Can't fully imagine the image of george on that. But George would look great in some of the more simple shirts like this:

Williams: Same as merc. The base colour is good. I love how they place their brands and logos on the shirts/racing suit. It's not too flashy and contrary to him looking villainous in red bull's dark blue, a lighter shade of blue like williams' would make him look ✨👼. 8.5/10

McLaren: Sorry to say but i hate their racing suit & fireproofs design.. IT'S LIKE THEY JUST SLAP THE LOGO EVERYWHERE + the colours messy 😭. They look like fcking human billboards. The merch is nice and simple. The orange is so mclaren but it's funny to imagine george in papaya colours 🤣🤣. He would pull it off looking a bit goofy ig. 4/10

in every fandom there comes a time when you have to ask yourself, ok but what classes would these characters be if they were in D&D

overlong headcanons/design notes under the cut:

I based this AU off my rudimentary knowledge of D&D and it’s classes, but I’m taking creative liberties and it can be thought of as just a general fantasy rpg-style thing. Ended up being a mix match of comics and MCU but it’s an AU so hey it’s fine right lol

KAMALA - Sorcerer/Monk

Arguably one of the hardest to actually decide a class for?? I’m imagining her powers here as more akin to those she has in the MCU show; they’re something innate to her, passed down through her bloodline (and possibly unlocked by some event or heirloom as in the case of the TV show). I think the way she fights would be something closer to a monk, though? After awakening her powers, she journeys around helping people in the same way as she becomes Ms Marvel, both on her own and with the party. 

Kamala’s design is based pretty much entirely off the Mystic Marvel design (originally I believe from Champions, also in the Avengers game)! I saw this design and my brain instantly went brrrr because it basically combines my two fave marvel heroes (Dr Strange and Kamala)!! I changed a few parts of the design, and simplified the shirt a bit. I think it suits Kamala well for a fantasy AU - even in the main comics she wears an outfit that’s comfy and easy to move in!

NAKIA- Sorcerer/Cleric

Since Nakia is the only sensible one here, it made sense for her to be the (begrudging, probably) healer. I think it suits her personality well too though! I’m imagining here that her powers are innate (like a sorcerer), but she just uses healing magic the most (like a cleric). More similar perhaps to something like the cleric class in Fire Emblem Awakening, where clerics are often religious but their powers aren’t something directly conferred by the gods. 

Nakia’s design is based entirely off of her Storm Sage look in Ms Marvel (2015) #38 (aka the one where the gang gets isekai’d) Once again simplified it a little and softened some of the shapes (since it’s more of a villain look in the comic, but she’s obvs a good guy here) 

BRUNO - Wizard/Artificer

Bruno’s outfit is also partly inspired by #38 (esp for colour scheme), but I mainly just did my own thing for what I thought he should look like in a fantasy AU ahahah. Gave him a long coat because if there’s one thing I love more than wizards, it’s wizards with long coats lmao

To me the D&D wizard class is much more the ‘study and research’ side of magic so it think it works well for the scientifically inclined Bruno. The thirst for knowledge and hubris (all the benchmarks of a good wizard character, really) are also very fitting for him, I think..!!

He’s a natural prodigy of magic and manages to get accepted to a prestigious and exclusive magic school but is kicked out after The Accident. Leaves to find somewhere else that’s willing to teach him since he can’t accept the idea of not learning magic. Meets Kwezi and the rest plays out much as it does in the comics

His prosthetics are powered with some kind of Magical Rock (call it a magic substitute for vibranium), and made by Kwezi. I’m undecided whether they’re grafted onto his arm/leg or it’s a whole Full Metal Alchemist situation but maybe a bit of both? The arm also acts as a conduit of sorts for casting his own magic (hence where the artificer class comes in). As he makes all sorts of stuff for Kamala in the comics/show I think him having the ability to craft magical items also fits well. Probably learns that magic from Kwezi. Which brings us to...

KWEZI - Artificer

Another magical prodigy, but I see Kwezi as more of a support type to Bruno’s spellcaster. The embodiment of chaotic good. I think he’d be mainly a crafter of magical items (sort of like Olruggio in Witch Hat Atelier?) 

His background in this AU is the same as in the comics, and him and Bruno go adventuring a bit themselves before joining up with Kamala and co eventually. I think he’d be pretty sheltered when it comes to travelling outside fantasy-Wakanda, especially compared to Bruno, so hijinks ensue. (Side note, but I absolutely adore that contrast when it comes to Kwezi & Bruno’s dynamic, I’m so in love with them both)

The green cloak-wrap is inspired by his formal outfit in Ms Marvel (2015) #30, and the harem pants are from #29. I think comfy, practical clothes suit Kwezi, and I like that the colour scheme for him is a nice contrast with Bruno! 

KAREEM - Rogue

Probably the easiest class to decide on because really what else could it be?? I’m undecided on whether Kareem should have his origin from the MCU show or the comics for this AU - personally I prefer comics but I do think a secret society sort of thing would work well for a fantasy AU so I’m leaning a bit more towards that perhaps.

His design is a mix of MCU, comics and my own take on it to make it a little more fantasy/rogue-like.  

KAMRAN - Sorcerer

Probably the only one here (except maybe Kareem) who’s primarily based off his MCU appearance rather than the comics. I see him as being initially a bit more of a bad guy than in the show though, a sort of misguided villain who eventually ends up joining the party (see: Zuko in ATLA)

He’s grown up with the Clandestines (probably some kind of cult here) and he generally believes in their mission, so it takes a little more for him to turn on them. As a sorcerer his powers manifest suddenly and he doesn’t understand how to control them at first. The Clandestines probably want him to use his powers to their ends, and that, along with run-ins with Kamala gets him questioning whether he should continue to follow them or turn away from the only family he’s ever known...

Kamran’s design was probably the hardest to figure out, since he only really has appearances in regular clothes, and no canon alternate designs to work off of (like Nakia/Bruno/Zoe). In the end I was thinking of the Clandestines and what they might wear in such a setting? The blue colour scheme is based off the jacket he wears in ep 6 (probably his most iconic MCU look) and also his coat/scarf look in Ms Marvel (2014) #13. I don’t think I captured Kamran’s likeness very well here but his outfit actually turned out to be one of my faves, so swings and roundabouts hahah

ZOE - Fighter

I’m imagining Zoe in this AU is the daughter of some lowly noble family (a big shot in the town that her and the gang are from, not so much elsewhere). After a run in with some bandits where she’s saved by Kamala, she resolves that she needs to get stronger. Not the strongest nor the most skillful fighter, but she’s trying her best!!

Zoe’s design is inspired by her fantasy look in #38 (the pink tunic in particular), but I changed and added some details to it. Her cloak I swapped out for the pink scarf, as inspired by her stint as Ms Marvel!

BECKY - Paladin-->Warlock & JOSH - ???

The actual bad guys of this AU ahahah. I’m imagining here that the events of Civil War II play out pretty much the same in this AU as in the comics. Becky starts out as a paladin with generally good intentions, but when she crosses a line she gets disowned (is that the right word?? probably not) by her god. Unable to deal with it, she turns instead to darker powers, making a pact and becoming a warlock. 

I haven’t really thought about what class Josh would be... maybe a fighter as well (to match Zoe?), but I’m imagining him as a sort of mysterious Black Knight type figure, hence the you haven’t unlocked this character yet question marks lmao

Their designs are based entirely off their lockdown/discord appearances, just adapted into fantasy-armour style. I think the designs carried over really well, actually (definitely helped by the excellent colour schemes!)

And there you have it LOL I have no idea if I’m gonna do anything more with this AU but just wanted to share the brainrot, so if you got this far THANKS..... any thoughts/suggestions for other characters I should add are always welcome!!

You know how now day's a lot of video games are getting movie and tv show adaptions (league of legends, Uncharted) if a company were to go up to Choices and say, "we want to adapt one of your interactive stories into a tv show" I feel that the It Lives series would be a great choice.

It's got a solid, interesting storyline that keeps on giving, a cast of diverse character's that people can relate too, a good mix of suspense, humor, drama, heartbreak and fantasy. The game already has a way of grasping the readers and getting them attached to the story line and characters, so image how it would feel to see them come to life.

Not to mention, the whole series is already set up in a way that each book in the series could be a season, It lives in the Woods would be season 1, It lives Beneath would be season 2 and It lives Within would be season 3. Different story line's each season, different character's and the viewer's would have a chance to grow up with the characters as each season takes place a few years or so after the last season. Also, if you've watched Shadow and Bone and saw the season 1 poster's I feel that would look really good for the 1st season of the show like, Stacy would be holding pom poms, Andy would be holding a basketball, Lucas would be holding his bottle of pills, Lily would be holding her books and the ripped up letter she wrote for Britney, Noah would be holding Jane's whistle, Devon would be holding their bat, Dan would be holding his phone with the weird messages he sent at the beginning of the story, and Ava would be holding one of Cora's spell books.

What do you guy's think, do you recon they should adapt the It Lives series if they got the chance, or do you think they'd ruin it?

They may spend a lot of money on books, new gadgets, music, tattoos and puzzles. These people are addicted to all things new! They have a thirst for knowledge and experiences and will seek it out effectively. 🧿When I look at a person’s birth chart, whatever gender, I especially pay close attention to their Mars sign and house. To me, Mars represents the overall energy and vibe a person gives off and the house placement is where it’s most naturally acted out. For example ; Aries Mars in the 6th house. Aries Mars person would give off a hyper, motivated, impulsive energy. Physically this could manifest as shaking their leg while sitting, quick movements,standing/walking instead of sitting down, gives off a more to the point and carefree attitude (keep in mind all of this is affected by many other aspects and placements in a chart). Being in the 6th house, ruling day to day routine, health, how we act at work, etc., this means that the Aries Mars characteristics are more prominent during work and day to day rituals (quicker to learn, effectively performing daily tasks, gets shit done, or they could get into arguments at work easily, constantly rush around, might be stubborn about seeing a doctor/health professional, might be more prone to getting headaches at work or in general) again, depending on the rest of the chart

If this were a movie, he would be your perfect match and the story would end happily with the credits rolling to a perfectly timed soundtrack. Too bad this wasn’t a movie— this was real life and life came with complications.

SYNOPSIS. 10,305 individual athletes participating in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games. 10,305 frustrated athletes trapped inside the bubble they called the Olympic Village with no means of leaving the grounds or releasing their pent up stress. Amongst the almost indestructible cardboard beds that were rumored to prevent athlete contact and the condom supply they supposedly cannot use, the message the Olympic organizers tried to send were mixed. Many athletes saw this as a challenge, one athlete being Team Korea’s one and only, John Suh. The famed swimmer was ready and willing to take on this challenge but he couldn’t do it alone. He needed a partner for it and you—best friend, fellow teammate, and competitive swimmer—were the perfect match.
