hii! thanks for answering my ask about your favorite namjoon fics 🥰 could you recommend your favorite yoongi fics if you haven't done it yet? thank you soo much! 💗
you got it 🫡
most of these works contain mature themes/content. please heed tags and do not engage with any explicit work if you are a minor!
i know there are a bunch i’ve forgotten, so please reblog and share your own work and your faves!
also, please note: there are a lot of fics on these lists that are posted to ao3. it has recently come out that a volunteer was removed from their position for being pro-palestine (you can find the twt thread here). i am in the process of looking for a better alternative, but until then, it is unfortunately probably the best way to share these stories. while i personally won’t be posting to or reading on ao3 for the time being, how you choose to engage going forward is completely up to you! i just wanted to make sure i was being transparent.

Online/Offline [C.S] - forty-six | intelligent pants
“Hi, can I get a Green Tea Frappe, a Peach Iced Tea, and an iced Americano with vanilla syrup?” The customer, a young woman, asked.
“Yes,” Minsoo said as she punched the order into the register screen.
You watched as she got the cups and started putting the drinks together, and then dumped the Americano all over the counter and floor.
“I bumped into it!” She yelled quietly.
“It’s fine, I’ll remake it, just tell Wooyoung what happened so he can show you where the cleaning supplies are, in the back.”
She nodded and hurried away, stepping around the spill.
“Sorry about that,” you apologized to the customer.
She smiled. “It’s fine, accidents happen.”
You brewed the espresso and put the replacement Americano together and started on the Green Tea Frappe. Minsoo came out of the back and started cleaning up the spill.
“You’re making that for me too?”
“Sure, you have to clean so why not?”
“But now you’re doing everything, y/n.”
“I’m not cleaning,” you chuckled.
She made a noise that sounded like a worried whine as she cleaned as fast as she could. “Can I do the Peach Tea at least?”
“Sure, go wash your hands.” She threw the paper towels into the garbage and ran to the back to wash her hands and came running back out a few seconds later.
“Be careful.” You warned her. “You didn’t dry the floor all the way.”
She slowed her stride. “Um, how do I make a Peach Tea again?”
“Peach syrup, ice, tea’s in the fridge.” You said gently as you emptied the frappe into the cup.
She nodded and put the drink together, mixing it quickly.
You watched her out of the corner of your eye as you put the drinks in the drink carrier. “Don’t move too fast, you might spill it.”
“Oh-- yeah, sorry.”
“You don’t have to apologize, just be careful.”
She nodded and exhaled a moment and slowed down. She got the lid and put it on the cup and then put the cup sleeve on and handed you the drink.
You handed it to the customer. “Here you are. Have a nice day.” “Thank you.” She smiled and left the counter, revealing another customer, a man, who had been waiting behind her.
“You help customers and I’ll mop the floor, okay?”
“Okay,” Minsoo nodded and took the spot you had been standing in.
You tested the edge of the spill with your foot and confirmed what you expected: the sugar in the syrup was drying and making the floor sticky. You went to the kitchen and got the mop and rolling bucket and came back to the front to clean the spot.
Minsoo was making what the customer had ordered; what appeared to be an iced americano. She seemed to have finally shaken off her nervousness brought on by spilling the Americano, and was moving slower and more deliberately than before. You smiled to yourself; at least she wasn’t freaking out anymore.
You felt eyes on you and turned, expecting that maybe it was Seonghwa or maybe San had come in early, only to find the customer Minsoo was helping looking right at you. You looked
behind you, wondering if maybe he had zoned out looking at the wall, but he didn’t seem to have the glazed-over look of someone lost in their own thoughts. No, he was looking straight at you.
You cleared your throat and turned away from the counter and mopped the sticky floor quickly. You weren’t sure if you did a good job, but you could still feel his eyes on you and so you took the mop and bucket back to the kitchen. You dumped the bucket out and hung the mop up to dry and found yourself not wanting to go back to the counter.
“Umm…” you looked around for something to do. A pointless vocalization as Wooyoung had earbuds in his ears and was singing to himself quietly as he mixed dough. “Ah!” You saw that the jar of blood orange marmalade you used to make sodas was running low earlier, you could make more.
You took the oranges out of the fridge, got a cutting board, knife, and jar and set about slicing them up nicely.
“Oh! You’re back here.” Minsoo said as she leaned in the doorway.
“Yeah… we only had the one customer and we’re low on marmalade so I figured I’d make more before I leave.”
She nodded. “Thank you for cleaning the floor for me. And I’m sorry for freaking out.”
“Hey, it’s no problem. And I think you just need to take a breath when stuff like that happens and not let your emotions carry you away with them.”
She thought for a second and nodded, smiling. “Yeah, I’m not very good at that. I’ll be sure to work on it in the future.”
You smiled.
“I’ll get back to the front and let you cut things.”
You nodded, “Holler if you need me.”
She nodded and left.
About a half hour later you were done slicing oranges, had dumped them into the jar and covered them with sugar, screwed the lid on and put it on the shelf with the others. You washed the cutting board and knife and put them away and looked at the clock. You still had five minutes before you had to leave.
You peeked out the kitchen door to see if that customer was still around and, finding him gone and no other customers around, went to the counter to make yourself a boba tea to take home. You took out the ingredients and then shoveled double the amount of boba into a large to-go cup.
“Are you sure you have enough?” San asked.
You jumped, startled because you didn’t know he was next to you, nevermind in the café already. “Jesus! Warn a body, will you?”
He laughed. “Who’s that for?”
“Me. And don’t worry, I’m paying for the extra boba.”
He watched you as you finished making it: more sugar syrup than was probably good for a person, three cubes of ice, and the milk tea.
“I can’t believe you make it like that.”
“What? ‘More boba, less ice’ is my family motto going back generations and generations. It’s the only way to live, really.”
He laughed again and raised an eyebrow. “‘Generations’?”
“My great-great-great-great-grandmother, Granny Boba, invented tapioca pearls you see. One day, after just turning some tapioca root into flour, she was relaxing by the sea. As she walked along the beach, she saw an oyster and decided to open it--”
“And there was a pearl inside?” He asked as he watched you with a wry smile.
You put the lid on the cup and started the process of ringing yourself up at the register and moved so he could see what you were doing on the screen. He nodded.
“Of course, where the hell else do you think pearls are? The forest? And that’s how she got the idea. She was like, ‘Well, I can’t make real pearls, so what if I make pearls out of tapioca and sell those? I’d make a killing at all the gaming parlors!’”
“Because computers didn’t exist and there were no internet cafés yet?”
“Because computers didn’t exist and there were no internet cafés yet! San, you figured it out, you smart little smarty-pants.” You reached around the register’s screen and tapped your card against the reader, finishing the transaction.
He laughed and shook his head.
“Intelligent pants.” You said to no one in particular as you left to get your things. You picked up your drink and sipped it, chewing on the pearls. “Alright, cowpoke, I’ll see you on the flip.” You saluted him.
He saluted back. “Okay… Tex?”
You snorted. “Nice.”

First Date Headcanons for Tom Hiddleston's Characters - Part 2
(Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters or images. This is just a fun listicle, not designed to offend anyone. As always, please feel free to leave comments and/or constructive criticism below. Thank you, and without any further ado, please enjoy!)
Click here for Part 1 with Will Ransome, Henry V, Loki, Bill Hazeldine, and Caius Marcius Coriolanus
Characters in this list: Jonathan Pine, Robert Laing, Magnus Martinsson, Oakley, Thomas Sharpe, Jaguar!Tom Hiddleston
Jonathan Pine from The Night Manager
Breakfast date
Tumblr media
A date with Jonathan Pine would begin with him inviting you to share breakfast after his shift as night manager. The meal wouldn't be terribly decadent, but it would be beautiful enough for a
date.
(If this is set in the Hotel Nefertiti in Cairo, then breakfast might be foul/ful or taameya (which are made with fava beans) or whatever was left over from the hotel kitchens. And if this is set in Hotel Meister in Zurich, then breakfast would be bread, margarine, marmalade, and hot chocolate.)
"Are you tired after a long night?" You gently asked while he placed some food on your plate.
Jonathan let out a chuckle. "I'm used to it." He filled his own plate, and then sat across from you. "What do you enjoy doing most at night?"
"Aside from sleeping?"
"Sleeping only makes up a third of a person's life," Jonathan replied without missing a beat. "There must be something else you like to do after sundown."
Jonathan would be very courteous, asking you about where you were from and what you enjoyed doing. He would not reveal much about himself, merely saying that he left an army career for an occupation that was much more 'quiet'.
After the meal, Jonathan would be happy to accompany you for a small stroll or he would escort you to wherever it is you wanted to go. Before saying goodbye, he would gently hold your hand and sincerely thank you for your company, hoping to see you again soon.
Robert Laing from High-Rise
Going out to the restaurant in the high-rise
Tumblr media
A date with Robert Laing would begin with him picking you up from your apartment (which is also located in the high-rise) at about 7 or 8 PM. He'd be dressed to the nines, wearing a grey suit and a gold tie, with his hair combed.
As a new resident, Robert wouldn't be very familiar with the fine dining places outside of the high rise. So he'd prefer to go to the one within the building (in my mind, it's also the place he frequently orders dinner from. He can cook, but doesn't prefer to do it often.)
Throughout the dinner, Robert would talk mostly about his work as a lecturer at the medical school. He would also ask about your apartment, how often you went to Charlotte Melville's parties, and where you were from.
"What do you think of the parties?" You asked while Robert cut his food with a fork and knife.
"They are…nothing like I have ever been to before."
"Do you go to many parties?"
"No," Robert replied, taking a bite. "I don't always have the interest. I prefer something intimate like this. In any case, I'm happy we could do this."
"Me too. Charlotte has said many good things about you."
Robert raised an eyebrow. "Did she tell you that I've been wanting to go out with you since that afternoon we met?"
After paying for the meal, Robert would walk you to your apartment. You offered to make him some coffee, saying it was the least you could do. Over two cups of hot espresso, Robert and you would talk some more, possibly falling asleep in each other's company. But in the morning, Robert would thank you for a nice time and help you get ready for the day before leaving for work. Of course, not without forgetting a kiss.
Magnus Martinsson from Wallander
Drinks at the local pub
Tumblr media
A date with Magnus would begin with him picking you up after his shift at the police station. Depending on how much work there was for him, he might come to pick you up at a pretty late hour.
"Wow," Magnus gulped, watching you lock your front door and come towards his car. "You look fantastic tonight."
The two of you would go to the local pub and share a few pints, talking about work, the weather, and anything else that catches your fancy. Maybe if he's feeling like showing off, Magnus would play a round of billiards or darts (and hopefully win). And if you asked, he would gladly teach you to play, unafraid to hold you close while he tells you how to properly hold a billiard stick and shoot.
The date would end with a couple of kisses, and Magnus driving you back to your place. He'd bid you goodnight, and if everything went well, he would ask you when you'd be free for a second date.
Oakley from Unrelated
Swimming or skinny dipping at night
Tumblr media
A date with Oakley would begin with the two of you sneaking to the pool after everyone else has either gone to sleep or retired to their rooms for the night. And tucked under his sleeve, Oakley would smuggle a bottle of alcohol from the cellar or a flask containing the ingredients of a Negroni. The two of you would take turns drinking, laughing all the while.
When the alcohol's finished, Oakley would quickly remove his shorts, t-shirt, and underwear and jump into the cool, still waters.
"Did you just…?" You gasped before bursting into a fit of giggles.
"Of course I did." Oakley leaned his head back and treaded water. "It's so much more fun that way. Come on, love. The water's relaxing and the weather is still unforgiving at night."
Taking a breath, you jumped into the pool and waded towards Oakley. He whispered for you to relax before putting his arms around you and his lips on yours. Depending on how comfortable you were with him, Oakley would kiss you more, leaning you against the edge of the pool so he could nuzzle against your neck.
You can use your imagination for the rest ;)
Thomas Sharpe from Crimson Peak
Ballroom dancing
Tumblr media
A date with Thomas Sharpe would begin with you meeting him at a party where he's either the guest of honor, or a party where the two of you are guests. He would politely catch your attention, drawing you away from your friends so he can have a word with you. With an innocent smile, he would make small talk, asking about how you're enjoying the festivities.
And when it's time for the dancing to begin, he would graciously offer you his hand.
"Will you grant me the honor of sharing a dance with you tonight, my lady?" After pressing a kiss against your knuckles, Thomas clutches your waist and begins to lead you in a swift yet gentle waltz.
The two of you would dance together for a few songs, not taking your eyes off of each other. And after that, Thomas would lead you to a less crowded part of the ballroom, talking to you about your family, about the things you liked (so he could remember in the future when buying you a present), and about where you were from.
The night would end with Thomas (and his sister) escorting you home as a gesture of courtesy, and a proper good night kiss. A few days later, you would receive a letter -penned by Thomas himself - about how much he enjoyed spending the evening with you, and how he would like to continue courting you.
Jaguar! Tom Hiddleston
Cocktails at a fancy lounge, and a long drive at night
Tumblr media
A date with this Jaguar villain would begin with him inviting you to drinks at an exclusive club in downtown London. Showing off his influence, he would get a room just for the two of you. After a few bits of small talk, he'd move closer and whisper in your ear just how pretty you are, sending chills down your spine.
"You look absolutely ravishing tonight, darling," he purred, placing his hand against your lower back. "After you finish that drink, what do you say to taking this elsewhere? Surely you must be wanting more…"
He'd take you for "a spin" in his Jaguar only for you to end up on the road at nearly 140 kilometers per hour. Little did you know, he actually had some pretty interesting cargo in the dicky - the type of cargo that police might be attracted to.
"Don't worry about the sirens," he told you excitedly, as if he were a child on Christmas morning. "It just adds to the excitement!"

Origin: Ethiopia
Region: Odo Shakiso, Guji Zone
Farm: Various (managed by Wadessa Yachisa)
Variety: Indigenous landraces
Process: Natural
Altitude: 2000–2150 m
Raspberry, light marmalade, and melon(?). I haven’t had a melon in something like a decade, allergies being what they are, but I think I’m right about the resemblance. Any combination of Rubus fruits, cooked fruit, and melon notes raises suspicions of fermentation (usually natural or darker honey processing methods), which is of course exactly what’s going on here.
Less juicy and more roasty than it sounds — this roaster tends toward what specialty people would call medium, which makes plenty of sense for their wholesale audience. Given the size of the producer’s farm holdings, this likely came as a large batch, and trying to turn around several hundred pounds of bright, funky product in a market of middle-of-the-road cafes would be pretty silly.
The compromises made in the roast would probably make it an interesting off-label espresso. It’d be fussy to dial in — naturals always are, and high altitude Guji loves to generate super fine, filter-clogging dust — but dosed heavily and pulled over ice, I bet it’d be well worth it.

Teaspoon, 803 Americana Way, Glendale, CA 91210
Tumblr media
Teaspoon recently opened on Brand, next to Chick-fil-a. They must still be in soft opening mode because they didn’t have quite a few things on the menu, like their house cream, grass jelly, pastries (cake, macarons, brownies), etc. The tea is made to order (they use a machine that looks like an espresso machine) and you can get organic milk. The fruit marmalades are made in house.
Choose from seasonal drinks, milk tea, coffee, and signature drinks like caramel cream, guava sunset, and strawberry sangria. You can also create your own drink ($5.75) and specify the level of sweetness, amount of ice, type of milk, and toppings (boba, popping boba, jellies, puddings).
Grasshopper: it was refreshing and light, tasted the cucumber juice more than the lychee green tea
Silky strawberry: housemade strawberry marmalade mixed with organic milk – basically strawberry milk with real strawberries – tasted natural, was fine but too simple for me. I prefer milk tea anyway.
Earl grey black tea with classic cream (lactose-free), 0% sweetness, light ice, grass jelly ($5.75 + $0.75): Their classic cream is lighter than whole milk. The tea flavor was weaker and the milk less creamy. The drink just seemed weaker in general, like watered down. The crystal boba were firm and sweet. Also, light ice was still half of cup of big ice cubes. The drink was expensive and not as flavorful.
It’s a nice looking, small shop with no indoor seating and a few tables outside. Sign up for rewards.

When I lived in Rome, I went to Cantiani’s every morning and sat at a small metal table along the street. I had an espresso lungo and a cornetto marmalade most mornings, though occasionally I would try other things. Many mornings, especially lately, I would say “uno altro,” one more, and have a second little espresso.
This routine and especially this place brought me peace. Or perhaps it was successful in not disturbing the peace I had when I arrived, usually at 7:30 or so. The staff, whose names I still do not know, are friendly with me—they smile, praise my attempts at learning their language, and go to great lengths sometimes to pronounce things for me. They know that I will order at the bar with the regulars, move out to a table with my notebook, write for a while, and will then be back domani.
They will not be intrusive, especially in the morning. Maybe they sense my ways, my purpose, my desire for quiet. Perhaps they simply have no interest in me at all and are grateful that I am not so demanding or fussy or trying to say too much. Regardless of all these musings, I am peaceful here. The emotional waves of the unsettled people in my life are not here. I cannot feel or sense them at all.
I look down the long street, Via Cola di Rienzo, lined with grand storefronts and dotted with little trees not much taller than apple or cherry trees, and it seems to stretch forever, though I know it runs into the Tiber. It flows. The river flows. The flow is what I love about this place.
When I lived in Rome, in the fall of 2022, I began writing again. No longer was I distracted with CMR or David. No longer was I devoting or diverting my flow to repairing and sustaining the spillages of others. Even when it was over, it wasn’t over for me. Not for a long time. Those diversions—the habits and expectations—were deeply grooved in my banks. They were anticipated and expected so frequently that even when they did not come, it was if they had. The energy had already been expended.
But when I lived in Rome, those things were overwhelmed by the newness of this place and the totality of its grip. A new language. A new apartment. A new neighborhood. A new job too, even if only a small one. And new friends. Together—and with a quarter-turn of the earth—those old habits gave way. The deep grooves which had been carved into me over the previous decade were smoothed quickly, like a freshly groomed run at Keystone, now untouched, waiting for me to carve something new.
When I lived in Rome, I was able to use the American Academy in Rome, a place I had never know before but was instantly drawn to. It is idyllic, an intellectual and physical oasis of sorts, a place for thinking and considering and pondering things amongst wonderful old books and shockingly soft pines. On my first day, I sat at a table dedicated to one if its past presidents, who was also a professor where I studied as an undergraduate. That linkage was a total surprise to me and also felt like a kind of providence, a continuation of a humble beginning that is still flowing.
When I was in Rome, I became even more fascinated with the importance of imagination, not just in the arts, but in the art of life itself. I thought deeply about origin stories and myths and put as much of me as I could into those ideas.
When I was in Rome, I felt the flow return and began carving deep grooves again, but this time they were my own.

question! if you were outfitting a ship, what are three things (not already essential to actually sailing the thing) that you MUST have on board? what is your marmalade and library and auxiliary wardrobe?
Oh this is hard.
Very boringly, the first thing that springs to mind that I cannot do without is a computer with internet access.
I'm not sure there actually is anything else I couldn't do without. I think also a supply of ~comfy loungewear~ (me, last time I was on a ship: sheepskin slippers are surprisingly functional topdeck wear in the arctic circle) and (this one is definitely a massively self-indulgent luxury and not a necessity) a proper serious coffee shop espresso machine for personal use. Yessss.
