Just wanted to get something off my chest.

I’m probably the LEAST confrontational Beetlebabe out there. Sure, I slap fight antis every now and then. But when it comes to other Beetlebabes I’m super friendly. I don’t get into drama, I don’t get into internal politics. I’m a simple woman, I see a pretty shiny thing that makes me smile, and I like it.

I don’t believe in cancelling people. I see cancel culture like this: let’s say this guy named Jack made your kitchen cabinets. He’s the best in the business and everyone loves his work. One day you find out Jack beats his wife. Does that mean you’re ripping out your cabinets and getting new ones? No, but you’ll probably think a little differently whenever you’re in the kitchen. That’s how I see artists that have “naughty opinions” or “drama.”

I’d never slap anyone down or tell them their art/fics are no good. Everyone has unique, special talents. And art is subjective. And I don’t believe in gate keeping. If someone enjoys something, let them create artwork for it. Doesn’t matter how much of a “fan” they are or for how long they’ve been in the fandom. I say the more the merrier. Sometimes I get shit like “you’re new here, sit down.” Or “I’ve been doing this longer.” It saddens me a bit.

All beetlebabes wear the striped suit, but our stripes are all different in their own unique way.

Guys I think there is a lot of toxicity in this fandom. It's not the worst I have seen (my sibling is an mlp fan (they began being a fan when they were in the target audience) and a furry and I was a peak time Undertale fan) but it is rather hostile here

I know I haven't gotten really any hate or drama but seeing everyone fall or get attacked around me is scary because I worry about when I will be next. Even though I shouldn't worry since I have done nothing but draw silly scugs and try my best to be nice

ALSO I LOVE BETTY SO MUCH. AND HER SISTER. AND JUST ALL THE CHARACTERS. AND I'M ONLY 13 EPISODES IN (although episode 11 was supposedly supposed to be episode 4 just letting you know to avoide confusion like I had when I first saw it if you decide to watch it). THEY'RE SO IMPERFECT AND SO KIND BUT ALSO SELFISH AND AND SOME ARE OPENLY SELFISH BUT LEARNING TO BE KIND AND THEY MESS UP (BADLY) AND I LOVE THEM.

Also the show is so cartoony. Like maybe not Kirby Buckets (Banks?? It's been a while since I've heard of the show) level of cartoony but more like I felt like I was watching Arrow but most of the time it was a sitcom with drama camera work that just delved into a superhero villain sneak peak scene change with a shadow person and everything (although episode 13 is when you find out who they are and it is a TWIST). Also the characters all seem like stereotypes but get more character as the show goes on.

one flaw I have is that I hate being involved in fanfom drama and discourse and what not but I love reading fan responses to events and gauging different pov and general fan opinion. Like I don't want to be the solider on the front lines but I will visit the site 4 years later with a little brush to dig up the bones and try to stitch together what the story was.

by that i mean I just spent a solid 30 minutes reading old tweets by korean bandom fans about the ryan/idkhow drama and what the fan opinion is compared to the majority here. it's been so polarizing bc I guess there are ryan s main girlies* out there.

So here’s another anon ask and it’s about Shisui! I’ll keep the list short because I felt the need of something brief and simple, without all the drama I always end up including in my works smh

He’s basically your best friend

He’s smart, responsible, a lovely and attentive partner

He's also a fun person to be around: the way he tells jokes make them even funnier, and he also does impressions of people when no one's looking 🤣

You guys probably know each other since you were kids at the Academy

Shisui was also the one who took the first step in your friendship

He has always been a good observant. Put this together with his gentleness and you have someone who knows how to maintain a conversation

You even felt part of your shyness going away, which left you at will to speak your mind when he was around

When you grew up and understood you were in love with each other, there were no traditional love confessions, nothing of this kind

Sometimes they don’t have a great story behind it; in these cases Shisui just invents one

He’s good at telling stories

Most of the times, they mean “I saw this and it reminded of something that I love in you” and the story is about the said thing

You're always saying you're going to write his stories down and publish them one day

Shisui just gives you that look the only he can give and replies that he's only let you publish them if you give him the credit for the ideas ☺
