"I did this fundraiser for EFF in San Francisco in ... 2001? 2002? Something like that. It was at DNA Lounge, and after we were done, this person came up to me with this horrific sweater (jumper, for you non-Americans). They told me it was part of The Infamous Clown Sweater Project. What's that, I asked. They told me they are getting as many people as possible to wear it and pose for a photo, which they would then upload to their webpage -- not website, webpage, because it was 2001 or so -- for all to see.

"Of *course* I was down for it, and that face I'm making in the first photo is my very real reaction to the _awful_ stank that was just infused in the acrylic fibers.

"The second picture is from a con about ... 2014? Something like that, based on how I look. Someone actually made their own version of that horrible sweater for me. One arm is too long, on purpose, the neck is all stretched out, on purpose, and it fits poorly, on purpose. It's so damn funny to me, and it came along at a moment when we were doing this "then and now" thing on Twitter (before the fascists took over).

"I still have the second sweater. I have no idea what happened to the original. Last time I checked, the website that hosted all those pictures -- so old it was manually coded in html, predating even Flickr -- was lost to the sands of time.

"But it never fails to make me smile when this picture comes back around. It reminds me of a specific time, when there was just so much hope for the online future we were all building."

And for those of you who are too young to know what Riker giving Wesley his "fondest wish" is, well ...

Wesley wanted to grow up to be a blue-eyed blond who I'm pretty sure the costume designer wanted to fuck?

Some of us know that this year, Team Cherik has decided to take a well deserved break. However, this doesn’t mean that we’ll stop and forget about this cherished tradition of giving an entire week to our favorite mutants: Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr.

That’s why, a little group of fans (with Team Cherik’s blessing), has decided to take the lead this year. We are trying to make this with enough time so everyone involved in this community can have all the time and inspiration needed to leave heart and soul in each and every single one of their creations.

Hello!

The purpose of this blog is to source Star Trek posts that have ended up on Facebook and other platforms, with or without credit. Since I am personally active in this fandom, I feel like my mutuals and other active fans/posters deserve to know when their posts have migrated off tumblr. I feel this is especially egregious when it happens without credit or when said screenshot finds its way back here. This fandom is a community, and it doesn't seem right to take from our community for personal gain without engaging or contributing anything here. To me, that behavior does not align with the spirit of Star Trek

What software and brushes do you use?

I use Clip Studio Paint and a fairly limited amount of simple brushes. Like two most of the time.

The scribbly black and white doodles simply are edited pictures of black gel pen drawings.

Yes you can! But ONLY:

I'm planning on designing pins and stickers and was gonna ask how your design process is?

I'd love to do a detailed guide one day on pin making, but for now to get you started I'll share these links from my FAQ:

I want to make enamel pins too! How do I get started? When I started out I followed this amazing guide by Pinlord. You can also watch this video by Mualcaina. And I recommend you join Pin Maker Resource on Facebook. The group is visible and open for applications only the first week of every month.

With my art style, stickers and pins are pretty similar design-wise. I'll use my recent Vampire Hunter D design as an example. First I started off with a rough sketch to get an idea of the pose and colors.

For a pin you need clean, ideally vector linework. So I clean up the linework as well as use flat colors for the enamel.

For stickers I can do more complex shading/lighting as well as add a background and border.

Why do you care?

That image is being passed around in the Good Omens fandom as David Tennant’s hand. I just wanted to find out the source (it’s my love language). I was actually surprised to find out that it was not David’s 😅

How did you figure it out then?

Here’s a summary of the steps I took:

1) Reverse image searched the closeup in question

2) The earliest source I could find was this pin from 2019: pinterest.com/pin/303500462387342910

3) The pin in question was filed under PCap.my12thDoctor > Just Peter: pinterest.com/mccolley2/pcapmy12thdoctor/just-peter

4) The pin in question seemed to be a screenshot that this particular user took of someone elses’s post on Facebook and then uploaded to Pinterest (based on other pins featuring the same smartphone UI)

5) I spent some time looking for the original post on Facebook, but alas, no luck

6) Ended up finding the image on a stock photo site after many, many dead ends!!

Why did people think that was David’s hand?

Ah, that’s the weird part. When you look at the pin that started it all on the Pinterest app, there’s no mention of David Tennant (well, only by people in the comments).

However, if you look at the pin on a web browser, guess what…

Also, when you paste the link on Tumblr and keep the card preview…

“David tennant, Peter capaldi, Pose reference” Ahem. Which is it, babe? Make up your mind. 🤣

In other words, the HTML metadata on this pin seems to be utter balderdash 🤪

Hi! I went through your FAQ and didn't see a direct answer this this, but how do you go about actually obtaining a peafowl? How much do they usually cost per bird?

Up front, I can only speak to USA practices, so if you live elsewhere the answer may not be the same.

I'll answer the second part first since it's "easier," or maybe I should say, slightly more concrete, and the answer is: it depends on what you want, and how capable you are of caring for it. I have seen day old blues from backyard breeders go for as little as $15, but unless you really have a handle on what to expect and how to care for them, you will almost certainly be responsible for the death of a day old peachick and waste the money. I have watched an online auction for an ultramarine yearling go for $6,800, but that's because that was a newly imported color from Europe that no one else had. A green - a true, pure green, not an American green that's actually a high green blood hybrid - will run you $5-10k depending on where you import from or who you're buying from that's imported themselves and tracked lineage. An American green will still run you a couple thousand, but more like $2k than $6k. Your average adult blue will run $80-200, but I've watched blue hens go for $400 at auction. Color/pattern mutations will run $150-800 typically, for "common" colors, depending on their quality and whether they're a nice looking hybrid (blue + green species), but I've seen nice morphs go for $35 at auction. I say this because auctions can be great on some days and terrible on others and you would need to know average prices for the color and/or pattern you want, to know if you're getting a deal or getting hosed.

But regardless of a $15 chick or an $800 silver pied platinum Spalding, the expense on them actually comes mainly from the cage- the minimum (and I do mean minimum literally not pretty owners of YouTube outrageous claim of minimum), flight pen size is 500 square feet with no side shorter than 12 feet long (to accommodate trains and allow the birds past you without injuring themselves, and 8 feet tall to allow for a 5-6 perch the males can get on to clean their trains. Every bird must also have 150sq/ft, so 500 will hold 3, but not 4, you'd need 600 for 4. But with peafowl, bigger is better- the more space they have to move around (and thus away from you) the closer they are willing to come to you, because they feel like they can safely get away again. The minimum size is also not optional if you want to maintain healthy birds- they're extremely susceptible to parasites and bacteria often found in raw soil, and even to just... Getting dirt in their face and getting infected sinuses. Minimizing their ability to access dirt by growing in grass and cover crop plants like clover is the single greatest step you can take to protect their health. And this doesn't even include the coop, which is minimum 8x8x6 to protect them and their trains. With the price of lumber, wire, and netting, this will easily run you a few thousand, but it's by far the safest way to keep them, especially the hens, who otherwise tend to get eaten by predators when they set a nest while free ranging. It's also the only way to ensure they don't just leave, because they are game fowl like pheasants, not like chickens, and you can't just toss them in the yard and expect they'll stay. Occasionally they do, but largely they don't.

To answer your first question... It depends on where you live. Most USA states have livestock auctions and bird swap meets- your best bet to acquire local birds is to find those but how to find them... Well. You kind of just have to luck upon them or hope a web search turns them up, if they're even advertised online, on publicly accessible places. There are bigger breeders around the USA that will ship birds if you're looking for something specific you can't find locally, but you'll be looking at a $350+ shipping bill. You can join peafowl groups on Facebook and try to find locals, or contact the UPA (United peafowl association) to get a breeder directory but that's only people who have paid to be in the club, which honestly doesn't do much anymore. You can also, if you know of one breeder, ask if they know other breeders. A good breeder should at least be able to say 'if I don't have what you're looking for, you can try this other person/people.' alternately there's ebay and craigslist, although I wouldn't trust the former because you can only sell eggs, and peafowl hatching eggs are a big fucking waste of money, typically speaking. They're extremely finicky eggs to hatch and most people prefer to let broodies hatch when they can, because they don't hatch well in incubators.

I created this blog to share reminders that I needed and still do often need on my recovery journey. My posts are not specifically about BPD, but are just things I’ve struggled with or know someone who has struggled with it.

Please know that I am not a medical professional. I'm not even someone who works in peer support. While I aim to offer resources, and support, I cannot do it any official means and I don't know everything. Please take everything with a grain of salt since different things work for different people, and as much as I do my best to be informed, I don't know everything and get things wrong sometimes.

I also cannot answer asks asking "do I have BPD" or any other disorder.

Please don't use the message system for advice. I find it so draining. I'm only open to messages that are not about me offering advice/support. You are welcome to send me asks for advice though but please keep in mind I get several a day and I don’t respond to a lot of them because I just can’t.

Info in the FAQ regarding convention logistics and organizers (CLICK THE "About Us" LINK ON TOP RIGHT OF WEBSITE FOR FAQ):

1.) The organizers are not the same as the ones for the original Dashcon.

2.) Dashcon 2 is not sponsored or organized by Tumblr.

3.) (Image quotes website, "Our team of organizers actually have experience in event coordination, or fields with transferable skills. We’ve taken our time to plan the road ahead carefully, and we have no intention of repeating DashCon’s mistakes.")

4.) Dashcon 2 is "a celebration of local artists, fandom, and internet history".

5.) There will be a ball pit, it will be supervised at all times to prevent anyone from peeing in it.

6.) There will be both safety guidelines for guest to follow and professional security.

7.) Large props must be approved by Weapons Check before they are allowed into the convention space.

8.) In-person attendance will be limited, and virtual tickets to panels will be offered. There is no attendance limit to virtual panels.

There is a timer on the website counting down to Dashcon 2 (CLICK THE "DashCon 2" LINK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THE WEBSITE).

Information on the convention organizers was previously available on the website earlier today, but not yesterday (when I checked). There were 4 people listed, 2 were co-something (I believe organizer or founder ), one was something about art, and I can't remember the last one but I believe it had something to do with the logistics of the convention.

I used the wayback machine and the jobs are (in order): co-founder, co-founder, artistic director, and panels & attendee relations. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS INFORMATION IS ACCURATE OR UP TO DATE, IT MAY HAVE BEEN TAKE OFF OF THE WEBSITE DUE TO INCORRECT INFORMATION.

The current date for dashcon 2 is July 12, 2025. It will last for 1 day.

As I update this, I will post the time and date of the update and what was changed.

Some FAQs

"I feel compelled to tell you I am pleased/angry/don't care about this!!!" I am not telling anyone how they should feel about this. While my blog title is a touch incendiary, I am tracking down the posts I find in the wild and tracing them back to their original poster. It bugs me when screenshots get reuploaded here when the original posts still exist, so I'm doing my best to track them down for you. I also wanted other people to know when their posts/art/edits/words officially escaped containment. While I'm personally irked by the behavior of taking without consent and/or credit, that doesn't mean you have to be. Your response is valid :)

"Why only Star Trek?" Focusing on Star Trek alone is already a massive undertaking. If I could do more, I might, but I am most active in the Star Trek Tumblr sphere and more capable of identifying and tracking down the original post.

"Can I send you something I found/my own post that was reuploaded?" Please do! I am but one person with a questionable attention span, and this is an ambitious undertaking. Tumblr may be the incubator of the Internet, but its search function makes finding things challenging. There is no way to automate this process that I know of.

"What's your issue with this particular Data page?" Initially, I didn't have a problem with this page. My Facebook friend had sent me a couple memes from it, so I liked the page and moved on. I assumed the page runner was just another Trekkie who made memes and reposted art. As time passed, I noticed that many of the memes that lacked credit were coming from Tumblr and from mutuals who had no idea their words/edits/art had migrated off the platform. I mentioned to a couple artists that their work had been reposted and none of them had any idea until I'd mentioned it. I noticed the page was uploading peoples' edits without credit and taking captions verbatim, and that bothered me personally. Two of my posts were lifted in a row, and I had made a couple posts on my main ( @thresholdbb ) about it. It eventually hit a point that I decided this endeavor needed its own dedicated space.

Maybe it's because I spent my entire professional career in education, repeatedly citing all of my sources and teaching students that plagiarism is wrong. Maybe it's because consent in all spaces is vitally important. Maybe it's because the page runner repeatedly solicits money via subscribers, not to mention the "Gift" button that appears in the corner of every stolen picture. It seems disingenuous to present content as your own and also profit from it. On some level, I think the page runner knows what they're doing is at the very least morally questionable/dishonest/wrong, since they do not like or reblog any of the posts they re-upload to their page. (Believe me, I spent a long time trying to track them down before starting this blog.) Far as I can tell, they do not make original posts here, but I cannot confirm this. They make a few original posts on their Facebook pages (I think there's something like 7 that all have the same MO), but they are mostly selfies soliciting money. Like do what you need to do to support your family or whatever, but stealing from people in this way is not cool IMHO.

While it is the nature of meme culture to spread them around without credit, these posts are regularly being taken from a community in which I actively participate.

"Why would they watermark my post?" From what I can gather, straight up screenshots can get nuked because they go against some term of service, but I'm not a super active poster on Facebook and cannot confirm.

"What's your goal with all this?"

Awareness - now you know if a post has broken containment, if your art has been reposted, if your edit has gone uncredited, and where the original post is so you can reblog and add your own tags for OP to read. I'll often see a post in the wild and want to add my comments on my own blog but then can't find it, so I'm doing that legwork as much as I can for the tumblr community

"What if my blog has a do not repost disclaimer on it?"

It seems reposters don't particularly care, but I do. Even when art is reposted with the username/link/credit, the two can quickly become separated if your work doesn't have a watermark because of how some people tend to repost. Let me know you have a disclaimer and I'll add it to the repost report. If you have merch or a tip jar associated with your work, let me know and I'll add that too.

"I'm concerned about Meta's AI"

You and me both. I'm not wild about the fact that tumblr users have no say in what happens to their words, art, and images on another platform. Here they at least gave us the illusion of choice that we could opt out of LLM training, but that disappears once it migrates to Facebook and other social media platforms. People's art being fed into these algorithms without their consent is a concerning trend

"Can I reblog the post and delete your screenshot from it?" Please do! Let the original post be free! In fact, I encourage you to get rid of my reblog completely.

"Why are the posts delayed?"

This page runs on a queue system because I'm not allowing this pursuit to take up my time and mental space every day

"What's your Facebook name?" Must really suck when someone is anonymously taking screenshots of your posts, uploading them somewhere else, and you don't have a say about any of it. On that note, what's your Tumblr name? Mine is @thresholdbb :)

"Why not make your own monetized page?"

I don't want to. I want to post, connect, and nerd out about Star Trek, not profit from my incessant posting. I could and might have moderate success, but it's a lot harder when the posts are original and haven't been vetted by another user base before reposting. I like the Ferengi, but I don't want to emulate them. Besides, even the Ferengi followed the Rules of Acquisition. As a side note, there is already questionable legality over profiting from a copyrighted franchise such as Star Trek, but I am not a lawyer; I'm just some brainrotted tumblr user

"What does the rest of the tumblr trek community think?"

Also as a side note, reposters sometimes take uncredited memes and images from Tumblrs that do have monetized FB pages/tip jars that post all original content

Overall, the Trek community has a lot of good will, but in my experience that typically comes with a strong sense of justice. I'm just out here spreading the word

Hello cozy coven! 🔮 We thought we would share a little FAQ answering some frequently asked questions we hear around the community! ✨

1. I've finished the main storyline - is there more content after Year 1?

Yes! You can continue changing the seasons as many times as you wish after the credits roll to continue farming, befriending the NPCs, and finishing your collections. There are also more quests, festivals, animals, and small storylines to experience in Year 2, so keep talking to the NPCs and see what quests they give!

2. Is there more content after Year 2?

While we don't have dedicated storylines and festivals for Year 3, you can continue playing as long as you like to wrap up any outstanding relationship building, collections, etc. There are also a few (but not all) quests that will pop up in Year 3 if you missed them previously.

3. Are there going to be any more content updates?

We have just a couple more bits to add to Wylde Flowers, but, we absolutely want to make more games like it!

4. Will "X" be coming to the game?

We can't confirm any specifics about what is coming with the new updates, but we are always looking at community suggestions and feedback to see what y'all would like to see! 🌸 We can't wait to show you what's coming when the time is right, but we have confirmed a few things which will not be coming to Wylde Flowers. These are:

Children

Decorating

Going inside villagers' homes

A full storyline of the same length as the original storyline

Milkwater

5. How do I get magical animals?

Please see this outstanding guide from a fellow community member on the Wylde Flowers subreddit all about magical animals!

6. How do I change the season after year 1?

Continue visiting the coven at night and you will eventually get a quest to give Tara her new role in the coven, The Keeper of the Wheel. You will then have to make offerings to Wellspring, which you can see by interacting with it. When all offerings are complete, you can use the proper incantation to turn the season just like in Year 1.

7. Can I transfer my saves between different platforms and/or crossplay?

Unfortunately, this is not possible.

8. I need more games like Wylde Flowers! Help!

9. Where can I find Wool Weed?

Wool Weed is located in the second area of the Gloaming (near the entrance). The areas are unlocked through story progression. You will need to find the keystone in the first part of the Gloaming first, then talk to Lina and upgrade your wand. Once you have the second and/or third level unlocked, you will be able to choose which level of the Gloaming to enter when you interact with the pillar to enter the Gloaming.

10. Who is the best person to romance?

That is entirely up to your personal preference! You can use our wiki to get more info about the romance candidates. There is also some great discussion about this subject matter in this post, this post, and this post (from our subreddit!) ✨
