This is simple put a beautiful lite, but still beautiful romance story that pulls at your heartstrings at times. It’s sort of been done before in different variations, but what’s important is still the over message it sends and also the message it brings to make awareness to the impaired hearing communities. The two main leads did an absolute wonderful and had perfect chemistry together.

Ok! So I’ve finished the first episode and...

There’s a lot happening. Let’s get to it.

First Impression: I think I’m going to actually finish this episode (and I did)...can’t wait to watch the next episode. I’m not too excited about the back story (I try to stay away from the more dramatic/tragic shows because to me life is full of enough of the sad stuff, gimme some of those feel-good moments instead) but somehow this show is able to balance this. It gives off genuine family vibes, not Brady Bunch perfect family, but a real one. So I’m looking forward to those dynamics.

Cast: *high-pitched whistle* There is soooo much eye candy. Errybody is gorgeous! Literally, everybody. That’s part of the reason I’m enjoying the series.

Wardrobe: Nothing out of the ordinary here. They’re doing a good job though because everyone looks gorgeous.

Plot: The first episode is centred on this big family having a big day. There are two graduations, one moving-up ceremony and a birthday all on the same day. There’s lots of love, humour and general warm fuzzy feelings. Also, all the kids have fruit nicknames; it’s hilarious. Of course all families, happy are not, tend to fight so the day is bound to be balanced with that too.

Favourite Character: Chico...but I have to admit that it might be out of pity more than anything else. He’s taken for granted a lot when he does so much for the family. I really hope he gets shown some appreciation soon.

Least Favourite Character: Beri (of course) you don’t say things like that to family no matter how angry you are. I’m looking forward to some serious character development here.

My Ship: It’s a little early, but I’m thinking Chico and Betty.

First... Filipino family drama...(it’s not my first Filipino drama because I started watching On the Wings of Love before I found this one...still haven’t finished the first episode of that yet). In that case it’s my first Filipino drama that I’ve finished the whole first episode.

Update (January 26th 2020)

So I watched the second episode and realized that it’s a soap opera. Sigh...I should have known because it aired everyday which is typical of those kinds of melodramatic shows. Don’t get me wrong. The family dynamic is still a refreshing one (sort of), but it’s too tragic and dramatic for me. So I’m out...Peace!

Tl;dr It’s a no for me...a lot more 7th Heaven vibes than Full House and I was looking for more of a balance...might check out clips on YouTube from time to time but I’m not going to finish the series.

To my Filipino followers:

Omg yo just saying but GMA’s My Korean Jagiya is such a good show so far. And it’s not even koripino actors or whatever they actually got real actors/actresses from Korea. So.. it makes it twice as good I guess..? Lol Like I haven’t watched anything filipino since 2011 (unless if you count the ones I watched in 2014 just cuz it had something to do with Sandara park lol), so this is the first in a long time. Its actually so interesting but like at the same time i’m just trying to ignore the english dialogue being almost constantly used and the cringy old ass American terms/slang they use (like seriously, yolo? In 2017..?)

And the annoying crying and yelling they have almost in every scene (all of these reasons are mostly why i stopped watching Filipino stuff cuz its really annoying lol) . Thats what i like about this show though that theres not alot of overly dramatic scenes and that its mostly comedy/romance.

But yeah anyway I highly recommend this show if you’re into korean stuff as well. And that’s big, having a good opinion about a filipino show, coming from me if you know me lol.
