Shows that got cancelled despite being good, popular, and having tonnes of potential to go on to become classics:
Kaos - 1 season - Netflix - Ends with set up for a following season
Shadow and Bone - 2 seasons - Netflix - Season 3 was already mostly written when cancelled
My Lady Jane - 1 season - Amazon Prime - Story not resolved, set up for a second season (in fact the show shows you what's supposed to happen in the second season)
Half-Bad: The Bastard Child and the Devil Himself - 1 Season - Netflix - Main story wrapped up but easily open enough for a second series exploring the world
Star Wars: The Acolyte - 1 season - Disney Plus - First series feels mostly like set up for a second series we'll now never get
Dead Boy Detectives - 1 season - Netflix - Set up for a second series with a minor cliff hanger and an open continuation for the characters
Lockwood and Co - 1 season - Netflix - Potential for a second season
I Am Not Okay With This - 1 season - Netflix - Story not properly resolved, needed a second season
National Treasure: Edge of History - 1 season - Disney Plus - Story concluded, but lots of potential for a second season
Gentleman Jack - 2 Seasons - HBO Max/BBC - So much more potential, it had so much real life basis it could have followed
Our Flag Means Death - 2 Seasons - HBO Max - I actually liked the ending we got, but I feel like the show had more potential, particularly with the crew
First Kill - 1 season - Netflix - (Not one I watched, it was on my tbw but it got cancelled and I didn't see the point)
Grease: Rise of The Pink Ladies - 1 season - Disney Plus - So much more potential And Insult to injury they've all but wiped it from the platform
A running theme for these shows are that they have a pretty high amount of LGBT rep, with a lot of these shows centering on queer characters and stories, as well as representation for POC. There are also a lot of fantasy/supernatural shows.
I just find it fascinating that there seems to be a lot of similarities between most of these shows.

first they cancel Dead Boy Detectives ... now they cancel KAOS ... I mean... what is the fucking point of airing them in the first place?? to make sure we get attached and root for the characters before they take it away from us without a proper closure??? I'm so disappointed....

If you're in a ranking mood, could you give Thomas and Alastair's top ten movies? Either from their canon timeline or a modern AU (or even both), whichever you prefer.
Okay so I feel Bad about this but I do not think I could rank ten movies, period. I have not seen ten movies over the past ten years lmao.
But! As a substitute! I'll tell you the top 10 shows I think they would like if they had access to them now!
Kaos. I'm sorry but this show was built for them. Lots of queerness, lots of mythology. Very funny in a dark way that they would both vibe.
Dead Boy Detectives, because of course. I put this first originally, but I was projecting. Kaos would be their thing. They'd love Payneland who are we kidding. It's gay. Great characters. Supernatural stuff. Yes. Also the Orpheus and Euridyce references! They'd adore those.
Hell's Kitchen. I think these men love cooking shows. They judge the worst dishes together.
Downton Abbey. They'd live for the drama. Also watch parties with Herondaisy and Allairchild and Arianna? Yes please.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. I know this will be controversial as fuck but you can't tell me that Alastair would not heavily relate to my girl Catra.
WandaVision and Agatha All Along. They'd think that all the characters are darling and I think they'd both adore Agatha as I do.
Lockwood & Co. I think they'd really like the aesthetic honestly and Alastair would think Lucy was a darling.
Love Island. It's their guilty pleasure and literally no one else knows they watch it. But it's sacred to them.
Supernatural, but only seasons 1-5.
Gossip Girl. They just live for the drama.

The first days of January
Tumblr media
After finishing the Bold Type, I had to think on it. I was sad to say goodbye to those characters. I tend to "make friends" with characters in stories I love, if I get to spend enough time with the characters. For instance, when I read (and re-read) The Lunar Chronicles. When it came to the end I cried a little because I was sad to say goodbye to those characters. Sex and The City had the same effect. Harry Potter? Yes. Even the book I'm currently reading, which is not part of a series (The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern), I've gotten to know the main character a lot and I feel a sort of connection with him... I think it's part of being an only child. I didn't have anyone else growing up, so I had the characters in the stories I read.
So now I'm on (back to) Emily in Paris. I hadn't caught up in a spell because I only subscribe to Netflix for like a month and then take a year off and come back for a month and continue. I'm not keeping it full time because fuck them for not allowing password sharing. Also their content is mostly garbage sprinkled with good stuff I can get through in about a month. Also, they cancel all the good stuff. Like... why did Emily in Paris get 4 seasons and I'm pretty sure they're getting another one but Dead Boy Detectives got or Kaos got cancelled? I'm watching Emily because it's easy/casual and lighthearted but I'm not saying it's great. I count my lucky stars that Sandman got a second season and I will be beyond surprised if it gets renewed for a third.
I choose these lighthearted things with characters that keep me company right now in particular because I'm going through something. What? I have no idea. Depression. Burn out. Anxiety. Hopelessness... it has many names. But I know that in the past, when I am spiraling, a different pieces of media have saved me in the past. I'm also going to therapy, don't worry. But media is also helping, as it so often does for me (again, probably an only child thing). I do feel like I might be coming to the other side of it though. I have a clear plan to get me out of the toxic workplace that is the source of my problems. I am currently making strides in that plan. I have a new/old hobby. I picked the clarinet back up. And I'm really excited about it. It was amazing to pick it up and remember almost everything about playing it and reading music. I can't wait to continue. I might even take private lessons. I was first chair in high school, after all. But I like that it's something that doesn't feel like it has to be a side hustle.
I wish I could find the motivation to get back in to video games, but every time I pick one up, my "adhd" (do I really have it? Who knows!) kicks in and I can't stay focused on it.
I do have a resolution this year. It's cliche but I know I need to do it. It's to take walks at least 5 days a week. Get some exercise and sunshine, two things that I utterly hate. I didn't go January 1st because it's the first and everyone's hungover anyways so it doesn't count. But every day since January 2nd, I have taken a 15 minute walk. I am proud of myself for keeping up so far. And it think it might actually be having a positive effect on my sleep, which is much needed.
More to come. Until next time.

As someone who saw How to Train Your Dragon in theatres 5 times, has Toothless tattooed on her thigh, and still sleeps with the httyd bed comforter, I'm fucking hyped about the live action.
And as someone who not but a week ago finished watching The Good Place for the 5th or 6th time, I was also pretty ecstatic about Michael Schur and Ted Danson's new little sitcom.
But I come onto this site and look for tags because I'm excited and all I find is you assholes bitching and whining "it's a money grab, it's an injustice to the original" "Where's Kristen Bell, wtf Schur actually wrote this?"
Just shut the fuck up. Shut. The. Fuck. Up
Shut the fuck up.
I'm sorry that this isn't the exact replica of the thing you love and hold dear, but it's not fucking supposed to be! Do you know they have the same director from the first movie doing HTTYD. Like, fuck, they got Gerard Butler!!! And you're all bitching, "it's gonna suck meh meh meh"
And The Good Place ended. It ended. It wasn't canceled. It ended perfectly the way Schur envisioned it. And so he wants to create something new with people he liked working with and you're all still fucking bitching about it.
This world is undeniably fucked. And there's few things that bring us all joy, and I'm tired of coming on here looking to share my joy and just finding you whiners bitching because something new isn't the new thing you wanted.
Why can't you use your energy to bitch about fun things that weren't given a chance like Kaos or Dead Boy Detectives or why sequels to movies that were supposed to happen and should've happened never did.
Yes, I understand I'm also bitching right now, but it's just because I'm tired and want you all to shut the fuck up and let people enjoy things without you being pretentious cunts about it.

So, a while back, I had a post, basically saying to send me asks of a song, and either a character or a ship from fandoms, and I'd write a headcanon fic / outline for a fic in headcanon form. and I wanna give it another go. But I also think it could be fun to kind of assign a song to a character or ship. So, in addition to headcanons, if you send an ask with a song and one of the fandoms below, I'll try and decide which character or ship suits the song best. There may be multiple characters or ships it fits but I'll explain my thought process. Asks will always be open. Any ships that aren't paedophilia or incest. Like, read what you want but I'm not writing about that. Ships don't have to be romantic though. Ships may not even be the right term, but Burn or Brother by Madds Buckley is literally about Dabi, Shouto and Enji, so like, if it's a song about family, or doesn't have to be romantic that's fine. Gen things are always fine. Can be crack ships or crossover fics. Also I will do character or characters x OC (any gender) and poly ships
Fandoms I'll write for:
Haikyuu
MHA/BNHA
Kuroko no Basuke
Bungou stray dogs
Number24
Kaijou no. 8
Kaos
Dead Boy Detectives
Harry Potter
Percy Jackson and the Olympians / HoO (Please note, I've only read the PJO books, Not HoA or ToA, but I'll have a go)
Assassination classroom
I'll probably add more as we go. Also I'll probably link anything that comes of this here, as a fun little masterlist or something

Why the fuck does Netflix even produce shows if it's just going to cancel them??? First the Dead Boy Detectives then the Imperfects and now Kaos. What the fuck even is the point of even paying for this dumbass service?
