I saw your most recent post and noticed you somewhat said (kind of idk I don’t know how else to phrase it) you were on team present! Do you have any specific reason or just joining for funsies

I've explained my reasoning for joining team present in the past but you know what? I'll explain it again for you.

When I think back to moments on when I'm truly happy, it's always when I'm in the present. When I'm just thinking about the here and now. Thinking about "what do I wanna do today?" When I think of the past, it often makes me feel sad because... those feelings are gone... the places I used to go all the time... are gone... and that... stings. It really REALLY STINGS!

When I think of the future, it makes me feel scared and worried. I think, "will I be successful? Will the choices that im doing now will send me down a bad path filled with regret? Will I find a girlfriend? Will I be able to start a family?" In the past where I got sucked up into the """productivity""" advice youtube pipeline, it made me feel fucking miserable and awful. That I wasn't some robot, that I wasn't disciplined, that I didn't "work hard" and that "if you don't work hard now you'll regret it in the future!! You could be great!"

But then I realised something... the future doesn't fucking exist yet. There is no predetermined path. This ain't no fucking RPG where you choose the good or bad ending.

Life is chaos. Life is pure mayhem. Even if you work hard, your life could still be god awful. So what if I wanna relax today? I aint gonna end up broke, dying on the street in the future. I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT!! BEING IN THE PRESENT MEANS FREE WILL!!! ITS REAL!!! YOU CAN FEEL IT!! YOU CAN EXPERIENCE IT!!!

I now live life by one quote... one phrase...

I dont pick teams based on which Idols are in them, I pick them based on my own beliefs as a human being. I hate getting into Idol wars because it's so fucking stupid. DO Y'ALL REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME WE GOT INTO AN IDOL WAR?!?

We got a whole fucking hero mode based on that idea. The idea that we should NOT do those sorts of things. That we should not fight. But come together instead. To celebrate what we have. To create more memories together. Because that will make us happy.

idea: Shiver or Fyre eating a team of people who won a 100x for them as a reward

"Are you for eel?! Seriously?"

"Come on, we all agreed on a gimmick for our rewards! Don't tell me you're chickening out already...I thought you were team bunnies~" The octoling smiled smugly, knowing her cheekiness would get a rise out of her bandmate.

"Quiet, Shivs! I never back down from a challenge! It's just..." The idol looked over at the little group of excited inkfish. They had all agreed on an extra reward to encourage people to join their teams and reward their hard work, and hers just so happened to be...a seafood dinner with Ms. Onaga herself. They just got to be the dinner! But all teams were a group of four, and as much as she hated to admit it...she wasn't sure if she could handle that much.

"It's not going to be an issue? Great! I'm headed back, Big Man's all alone out there...enjoy your meal!" With that, the idol was left alone with her team. She stared pensively at them, trying to figure out the best approach. As feisty as she is, she's never one to go back on her word...

"Can't you all like...I dunno, shrink or something? We'll be here all night if I go one at a time!" The group looked at each other for a moment before one of the inklings shifted into their squid form. The rest followed suit, though some were bigger than others...it was a lot more manageable like this. She walked over, picking up the smallest squid. "Congrats on that sick 100x win! You guys already got your float pic, so here's part 2 of your reward!"

Opening her mouth wide, she lifted the squid over her head and lowered them in. Careful to not nick them with her fangs, the squid was easily squeezed inside and sucked down with one slurp! They slid down her throat without any fuss, and she sighed in relief. It was a good thing inkfish were so inky and slippery in their swim forms... "Alright! Who's next? I've got plenty of room for the rest of you!" The first one barely made a dent! This would go well, obviously.

A reddish octopus inched forward, slightly larger than the squid she just swallowed. Their tentacles were pretty long, but it shouldn't be a problem! Frye picked them up, opening her mouth wide and pushing them in just the same. They were too big to suck down easily, so she worked them down with gentle gulps, slurping on their tentacles as they slid their way down her throat. "Ahh..." She could feel them filling her stomach, squirming around with the squid as her stomach expanded to fit both meals. This was about where she'd normally stop eating, but there were two more members of their team left...she's gorged on more for less though, and that octoling tasted pretty sweet...

Without needing to ask, the other octoling offered themselves up, seemingly excited at the prospect of being eaten. She's not one to say no to a free meal...when she lifted them up to her mouth, they did the work for her by inching inside. Maybe it was from fullness, or maybe it was because they tasted really good, but she took her time with swallowing them. Deep gulps slowly pulled them down her throat to join the other two, and she rested a hand on her full stomach. It was obvious with how it bulged and wriggled that she had eaten someone- rather, several someones- and she was just about at her limit...but there was one person left! She wasn't done yet, even though she was definitely ready to just lay down and sleep this off.

"U-um...Miss? You don't have to eat me, you look pretty full..." The last squid nervously offered. Maybe they were scared...the idol shook her head, giving them a confident smile. "No way! I never let my fans down! You'll be just fine, look." She moves over to the blue squid, lifting them up and letting them rest against her stomach for a moment. It was definitely noisy, burbling and grumbling around all the inkfish inside, but they were unharmed. "See? They're alright! My stomach knows friends from food. I'll let you guys out soon so you can get right back into the fight!" While still apprehensive, the little squid nodded when they saw her reassuring smile. "Alright, that's my team for ya! Down the hatch!"

Rather than take her time, she decided to get it over with quickly and just guzzle them down. She was as careful as always to make sure her fangs didn't nick them, but she quickly slurped and swallowed until there was nothing left outside but some bluish ink on her face. Frye sighed and groaned, flopping onto her back as she was stuffed to the limit. Her stomach wasn't complaining- it was all too happy to knead and churn around the group of inkfish that were packed inside. She rubbed at her overfull stomach and sighed again, unable to stifle a burp thanks to all their movement. How on earth was she supposed to perform when she couldn't even move?

Just to state it here before I start yapping my ever living soul out, Shiver is an eastern tall-man, Frye is a beast-man (like Izutsumi) and Big Man is a kobold. I can get a bit more into their designs and headcanons in another post, but today I want to focus on the lore.

It allllllll roots back to Shiver and Frye's fathers, who were friends since lord knows when. They were a team of burglars, looters, thieves, whatever you may call them, but in the end of the day just let it be clear that they were BAD. And they engaged in BAD shit, like looting corpses in dungeons and stealing from people's houses.

One day, they hit a huge one, they got into the house of this really rich dude that turned out to traffic beast men and other illegal creatures. And the rich being rich and caring about their richness, the security was top notch, and let's just say they struggled to get out of the place alive. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They left in NO WAY empty handed.

While looting the place, Frye's father found a kobold cub, chained up inside a cage in the corner beside other creatures likely being sold illegally. He brought the cub with him, and after almost getting their asses turned into kebabs by traps everywhere, the two companions were like "holy FUCK i ain't ever ever ever doing this shit again man.,.,. Wgart the ehll,,,,,, I'm getting too old for this, hell naw!!!!!!!" and decided to settle down as (this time legal) and functioning members of society. Shiver's father opened a dojo, while Frye's father opened a restaurant.

However, the rich guy who owned the house was PISSED (and also happened to be a black magic user......... woah how unlucky of them) and as revenge for stealing his wealth and freeing their beast men, cursed Frye's expecting father, mending the soul of his firstborn with the soul of a monster. And alas, that's how the critter was born😋🙏🔥💯😭

So yeah!!!!!!! Frye is a beast man just like Izutsumi is a beast man. They're the same typa monster, pretty much, except that Frye is a leopard instead of a housecat.

Anyway, back to the kobold pup; you guessed it, BIG MAN (or Big Dog?), being raised in the Onaga's restaurant, was always raised around the kitchen, both because he was genuinely interested in watching people cook and because he hoped to get food that fell from the floor lmfao-- as years went by, he started working as a server, apprentice, and eventually assistant chef of the family-ran restaurant. (So yeah, Biggie is the party's chef!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He also has an incredible sense of smell when it comes to cooking btw, both because of genuine talent and because of his race).

Ironic to his early years as a burglar, Shiver's dad grew to become quite the overprotective father once his daughter started growing up, wanting her to do anything but follow his steps and become a criminal before the age of 20. That backfired though, because she started running off to hang out with Frye causing all sorts of trouble (and eventually dragged Big Dog into it all too). The three were raised almost like siblings, and later on joined together as a party and continued to cause all sorts of troubles inside dungeons, where they eventually bumped into the other idols and started this whoooole story years later.

(They weren't all like their fathers though, instead of keeping the money they got from dungeons to themselves they gave it to the poor, much like their canon bandit dynamics.)

dont know whos front right nkw but hi its chaos system can you explain whats going on in splatoon to us badly maybe we don't go there but are so curious (only if u want )

haii :D okay so i'm not sure how familiar you are with splatoon so here's a few basic things to get out of the way first:

all of the music is diegetic, and is made by bands that exist in-universe!

each game has an "idol group", which is a group of in-universe celebrities who sort of act as the mascot for that game. whenever you open the game, there's a little news segment run by them where they tell you about any updates the game has gotten, what maps are in rotation, special events, if the biblically prophesied mutant salmon invasion is happening, etc! and they also do songs and stuff.

every, like, month or so, there's an event in the game called a Splatfest! basically, a question is asked, such as "Which is better? Cats or dogs?" and you pick a team, and then you will fight against the other team! this will last like 48 hours, and whichever team does better wins the splatfest and whatever option they chose is now legally the correct one! so if team cats won the "dogs vs cats" splatfest that would been cats are officially factually better than dogs forever

oh and also whenever there's a splatfest, each idol picks a different team, acting as a sort of mascot for that team

the games do not receive support forever, but they like to go out with a bang via a final splatfest! these are the biggest ones, and they actually have an influence on the NEXT game!

the first game's splatfests were run by the musical duo Callie and Marie Cuttlefish. they're called the Squid Sisters, because they're cousins. and the final splatfest in Splatoon 1 was Callie vs. Marie!

Marie won, so in the next game, Callie defected to the side of the enemy

Splatoon 2's splatfests were run by Pearl Houzuki and Marina Ida, who make up the band Off The Hook! they're also lesbiabs. the final splatfest of Splatoon 2 was Chaos vs. Order!

chaos won, so Splatoon 3 takes place in the mad max desert that was once known as france

Splatoon 3's splatfests are run by the musical group Deep Cut, consisting of Shiver Hohojiro, Frye Onaga, and Big Man:

currently, the final splatfest of Splatoon 3 is happening. the Grand Festival!! it's the biggest one there's ever been!!!!!!

the theme is: "Which is most important to you? Past, present, or future?"

and for the first time, instead of each idol representing a specific team, each team is represented by an idol group from one of the games! Past is the Squid Sisters, Present is Off The Hook, and Future is Deep Cut.

for this splatfest, there is a completely new hub world!!!! the Grand Festival Grounds! and it's really really cool this splatfest is so insanely big :] there's a bunch of stands everywhere selling stuff, all of the characters are attending the festival, and there's three big stages at the venue where each of the idol groups can play.

they have fifteen fully animated choreographed performances involving lights and pyrotechnics and dance moves. all of their songs are like four minutes.

THAT IS A FULL HOUR OF FULLY ANIMATED CHOREOGRAPHED PERFORMANCES FOR THE FICTIONAL CELEBRITIES IN THE SILLY SQUID GAME.

that's also fifteen song remixes just for this event.

and this is only the beginning! this is the opening - this is phase 1. even more is to come on saturday night and i cannot WAIT. all of the idols have special Grand Festival outfits that they, noticably, are not wearing at the concerts!

the new map they added to the game specifically for this splatfest, the Grand Splatlands Bowl, has not been used yet! and after we had to do a whole thing last week where we saved it from the salmon

there's a ton of other special little things but that's the grand gist of it! i hope this made sense!

I'm still reeling from our win...I'm not gonna lie, team present did it to themselves like they did practically every splatfest. I've been waiting to say this till after the finalfest because it's honestly really funny but also probably going unnoticed, didn't wanna help you salty seaweeds.

Now what I mean by yall did this to yourselves is, you never kept playing after half-time. At least not as much as everyone else. Shivers team usually kept the same energy the whole way through and sometimes I could even tell when their team was throwing the first half to make the second half more fun. I was usually on Shivers team not because of the idol but because they usually had the objectively correct answer, the devs just kept giving us questions that weren't opinion based so the choice was always easy. Spawn camping, I noticed, was also a big issue for Fryes team and probably lead to burn out due to that playstyle being overly boring and uneventful in this game. Not to mention if that team didn't get the half-time win, it felt like more then half of yall would just not play tricolor at all. Which, btw, would lead to a huge loss due to how the points are distributed.

Now for the more important reasons why yall didn't deserve to win, the doxxing and harassment and just all around gross behavior by Frye stans. You picked the team for the idol, you felt entitled to a win and assumed others were just picking Shiver because they like them more. Well I don't like them more, I actually identify closer with Frye then Shiver and yet was still mostly on their team. So yeah, you lot didn't deserve to win imo, you didn't play the game as a game and you truly took it too seriously.

I truly want yall to learn from this.

Let's break down this Splatfest. Team Saturday gets 66.57% of the votes but still loses. How is that possible? Was it because of the mirror matches? Well, considering that mirror matches are almost never seen as the determining factor when Shiver's team is the most popular and wins, I don't think so, but let's examine that argument more closely to be sure. First of all, I'm sure Nintendo is smart enough to calculate the results in a way that negates mirror matches. Yes, Saturday players individually got fewer (actual) games than someone from Team Friday would have, but there's a whole lot more of them! If Nintendo divides the clout from each team by the number of (non-mirror) games said team participated in, then everything evens out. For example if, Team Friday has 2 million clout and Team Saturday has 1 million clout, but team Saturday only participated in 30% as many games, then they would effectively have 3.3 million clout, and thus under this system they would win. How do we know if Nintendo uses a system like this though? Well, we can't for sure, but I suspect that they do. First of all, if mirror matches were *really* that big of a deal, then you'd suspect to see a pattern that whenever a team significantly leads in popularity, they should lose. But that isn't the case! In all of the (North American) Splatfests so far, 6 of them had one team lead the popular vote by over 50%. Of those 6 teams, 5 of them won. This is literally the first time a Splatfest team with a majority of the votes has lost! It isn't Frye that's the problem either, because one of those other 6 Splatfests was a win for her. Mirror matches had nothing to do with the results!

I get it. It's frustrating being a Frye fan and always losing even when it should be an "easy victory." I was on Team Saturday too, but the Splatfests aren't rigged against her. What I think really caused (or at least helped) her loss was Tricolor battles. Despite my opinion that Bluefin was a fun Tricolor map, it was very obviously biased towards the defenders, as evidenced by Sunday's 36.09% victory in the category. But even still, I don't think it's fair to say that Friday's win was undeserved. Sunday won Tricolor because they got the defenders' clout multiplier, but in order to get that bonus in the first place they had to be winning by halftime. Even if Tricolor was perfectly balanced, Friday was still ahead of Saturday in the Tricolor category too, so they probably would have just taken that win instead of Sunday.

In short, there's no evidence that the Splatfest was in any way, unfair. Frye loses a lot, but I haven't seen any evidence that it isn't just bad luck on her part. Yes, Splatoon as a game will always have problems and it's healthy to complain about them, but complaining about Frye losing accomplishes nothing because it isn't a problem in the first place. No idol is entitled to win X amount of splatfests, or that would defeat the point of the results being from the players. Complain about Splatoon when it's deserved, but complaining about things that aren't even problems in the first place just drags down yours and other people's mood. Sometimes you really do need to learn to just have fun!

Apologies if this sounds a bit harsh worded. If you felt I was attacking you for your opinions, know that it isn't really personal and that these are just my thoughts on a general trend I've seen for a long time now.

Team Rice Wins!

I'm gonna say that chances are that ppl joined Team Rice because the ink color was white (which I realized when I tossed a curling bomb to the gatcha machine as I always get the 1 cheap capsule a day before doing a fight) but still, it was a good series of matches...which were unfortunately mirror matches...

Anyways, so glad that Frye got another win but now I want some rice. Maybe I can try and make riceballs for the first time (I just hope I don't accidentally make jelly-filled doughnuts...)

All I can think abt is ghoap splatoon au and I'm too eager to share it to wait until im done making their refrence pages so I'm just gonna put all the info I've thought of so far for it

Ghost is an inking who, after being sanitized against his will (basically the whole agent 4 debacle from sp2 octo expansion), no longer participates in turf wars and only does salmon run. He tends to prefer being decked-out in his salmon run gear and has a heavy preference for charger/sniper weapons.

Soap is actually the octoling who helped Ghost get freed from his sanitization, and though their friendship had a brief rocky start they grew very close after. Soap prefers turf war to anything else and constantly tries to get Ghost to join him, but never pesters him after the first firm "no" Ghost tells him every time. He will occasionally try to join Ghost in salmon run but gets overwhelmed almost every time after the 2nd or 3rd wave LNSHDDB. Has a preference for the blasters, paintbrushes and nap-n-zaps.

Soap is a die hard Frye and Pearl stan out of all the idols, Ghost says he doesnt have a preference but always join's shiver's teams during the splatfests. He only feels half bad watching Soap get increasingly more frustrated that Ghost's team keeps winning even though he doesn't participate in the splatfests.

what does the rest of the splatoon think of 4 and acht dating

Before I start, here's a quick summary of the pronouns I'll be using for each of the agents:

Agent 8: He/him

Captain 3: She/her

Neo 3: It/It's

Agent 4: They/Them

Eight supports them 100%. He's an absolute sucker for romance and he got to see it blossom first hand since he was in the elevator when Four climbed the spire and whitnessed the two slowly fall in love. (If anyone reading this has no idea what I'm talking about, you can check out my post on it here.) Eight and Marina act as Acht's wingmen, trying to encourage them to confess their feelings for Four. (Pearl does the same for Four.)

Captain 3 is on edge around Acht. She remembers being controlled by Tartar vividly and is worried that Marina's Memverse plan might not have worked as well as she thought it did. When Captain was sanitized she couldn't do anything to fight it, so how could some code made it go away entirely? What if Acht is just trying to take advantage of Four having been greyscaled? What if they're plotting something malicious? Her suspicion never really goes away, but it does fade over time. Her main goal is just to protect those she cares about.

Neo 3 had never met Four before Side Order, so it didn't have any connection to Four. It and Four sort of become playful rivals and will often purposefully be on opposite teams in turf war and ranked matches. It likes Acht, but is a little bit afraid of them. It thinks Acht is really intimidating. Regardless, Neo 3 supports their relationship and likes to joke about how it's friend is dating a zombie.

Callie is just happy that Four found a partner. She'd been trying to set them up with someone for a while and is excited to see that they've finally found someone who makes them happy. She thinks it's cool that Acht is a musician and wants to collab sometime. She organizes a monthly game night amongst her friends and was very excited to invite Acht (against Captain's wishes).

Marie feels similar to Captain in that she's suspicious of Acht. Both her and Captain exchange paranoid theories about Acht's true intentions that gradually become more and more convoluted. As the two get to know Acht better and let their guards down, their theories turn into a running inside joke rather than real suspicion.

Cuttlefish is... trying his best. He can be insensitive at times by saying things like "You know I was almost put in the sludge that telephone used to control your partner." He doesn't realize that he's just bringing back traumatic memories for Acht and making it awkward for everyone else (especially since only Eight was supposed to be in the sludge, he was just sort of there). Four is trying to teach him not to say that kind of stuff.

Deep Cut, while not a part of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, would likely end up meeing Four and Acht since Marie is their boss. They're really competitive, especially Shiver and Frye. Frye will often say things like "You two may be big shots in Inkopolis but in Splatsville we're the kings. Don't forget that." in hopes of indimidating Four and Acht. Shiver will just give them mean looks. Four thinks it's super cool and Acht just finds it funny. Really Shiver and Frye feel thretened by the fact that Acht is a musician and they don't want Big Man working with a different artist again. Big Man is embarrassed by how they act and often aplogizes for them, despite the fact that Acht and Four don't mind.

Honestly that's real. I mean I was pretty vocal about my perspectives and opinions on twitter and weebs (as far as i'm concerned they were white) hated my ass for it so I eventually did leave cause that's a hellhole.

And for once this time, I don't blame a majority of the issue on the designers at nintendo who made Frye. It rlly is the shit bias of a large population of this planet.

Although I do blame nintendo's issue to first make less popular teams have a chance in splatfests and then immediately give frye the majority/child options: Family (seriously what % of children can celebrate solo or have the freedom to celebrate with friends) and saturday (the ease of appeal option, shiver of course got the workaholics with friday) I do wish they can give frye niche but insane options to actually utilize the new system better. Frye needs to absolutely win a splatfest but it's not gonna happen if they continue with the current trend with the newly balanced system.

If support for spoon 3 really is going to end 2 years from launch without frye winning more than 1 you know it's bad bad. It's already been bad bad and a lot of us seen the bias in the raw, but damn. And honestly, even if it sucks to look at and experience for a lot of people, once again it proves a point. I don't want to hear anymore "Stop making it about race" in splatoon after everyone seeing this. The only option is to move forward, you can't go back to ignorance anymore after this. The overall character design choices are going in good direction, it's just everyone hates to see it now that the dark character isn't shy and easily made into submissive fetish material. lol! I can only hope that whoever made these designs and approved of them, don't stop continuing to make those decisions that continue to diversify their cast. Again, splatoon 4 needs 4 fryes. I rest my case.

Yes, I was on Team Bunnies and yes it is sad we couldn't get Frye another win, she deserves it ;-; I had fun and got my 100x float pics for the second fest in a row so all in all, good fest!
