The fact that they clearly didn’t even predict that the Tango closure would come up in interviews and shit tells me that they really didn’t think it’d be that big of a deal.

They really thought that the sudden closure of the studio behind their most popular game in years would fly under the radar.

Seriously fucking devastated to hear about Bethesda and Microsoft closing down Arkane Austin, Tango Gameworks and Alpha Dog Games. These studios have made some of my favourite games of all time and have always put out unique and interesting games. Fuck all this God damn corporate greed and I hope that everyone affected by this can quickly get back up on their feet quickly. </3

I hope all the microsoft fanboys, and very angry white men who were suddenly extremely interested in politics and critical of the FTC when they called Microsoft out, are happy to learn that yes, we were in fact right all along about Microsoft's very obvious plan to buy up the game industry and then destroy all ownership.

I repeat: Microsoft has never contributed anything to the video game industry. They gave us paid online, they killed the concept of free dlc and content updates, they killed local multiplayer, they have never even made a good game; every acclaimed xbox exclusive is a game that existed outside of microsoft but was then bought out as an exclusive. Your "innovative" game pass is just them flaunting all the IP they've gobbled up to sell as a lost leader and it'll be the first thing to go when they get their monopoly.

But sure, keep telling yourself Phil Spencer is you new best friend. Fucking dumbass.

Talking About the Evil Within

This is very long because I have a lot of emotions wrapped up.

The fact that for the first time in years the Evil Within is trending on twitter because so many people are talking about the game, posting media, and talking about how they wanted the 3rd game so badly. The fanbase has risen from the dead because of Tango getting shut down. I have been crying about this most of the day because so much of my life was devoted to that series. The reason I was writing or drawing was because of the Evil Within. Its my comfort game, my special interest. It has everything to me for the last 10 years. Waiting for any announcement on a 3rd game or even a remake of 1 was the only gaming news I could remotely get excited about. And now that hope and that excitement is gone. I am completely heartbroken. The Evil Within is the reason why I love horror games. Its why I love Resident Evil and Silent Hill. I would not be who I am now without it. Fuck, I have multiple Evil Within tattoos and plan on getting more because it has meant so much to me. I am so happy to see so many people talking about it but completely heartbroken over the reason for it. It was a masterpiece of a game and now because so many people are talking about it, we can only now hope that Microsoft will for once listen to their audience, and will bring back Tango and will bring back the Evil Within. But I doubt it. I'm probably never going to get my hopes up about a game ever again. I'm never going to have such a massive attachment to another game. That game is literally my world and it has been for 10 years. I will always remember the first time I saw it and the first time I played it. It will always be extremely important to me. I feel betrayed almost that after so long we will never have a continuation like we deserved.

an unnecessarily long rant about windows 11, bitlocker, bulldozers, and one sad man's quest to format his 2tb nvme ssd

it's incredible how bad microsoft can make a product. windows 11 home pushes bitlocker on my drives without my knowledge or consent, encrypting them without a recovery key. fine. one of the encrypted drives (i have 2) gets corrupted! uh oh! the metadata of the single partition drive is now GONE! oh well! 'twas just my steam library and some stray GOG downloads. no worries! we'll just forma-the drive is now read only and every goddamn low level, registry edit, diskpart solution found anywhere online does squat. can't format the drive because it's read only and bitlocker encrpyted too somehow? okay. maybe the drive being encrypted has something to do with the permanant current read only state. let's go into settings and manage our bitlocker in control panel, yknow, like you've been able to for since it was released in 2013. FIne fine fine i'll go do that. microsoft does not include the ability to manage bitlocker via any other way than command prompt and powershell if you do not pay $100 for windows 11 professional and like WHATEVER right i've been using windows for 15 of my 20 years on this planet i can definitely handle some easy commands except oh wait the commands don't work? and the documentation for them is poor or nonexistant? oh and your now completely RAW drive actually doesn't have the relevant information to remove bitlocker at all???? i fail to see why formatting a drive cares what the fuck is on it anyway??? it's supposed to be like the bulldozer and also the vogons at the start of hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, right? you just format the drive and all of the everything on it is supposed to get bulldozered and space lasered and filleted into new, clean, workable data! i can't clean the drive with diskpart because it's encrpyted, and i can't decrypt it because it has bad blocks where the metadata is!

For some reason Microsoft whiteboard has removed the ability to upload pdfs to a whiteboard, even though I was able to last week, but as I was looking up what the fuck had happened, I found out that they do this

every year

,and everyone complains about it because it’s fucking stupid, and eventually they reverse it. So merry fucking “Microsoft whiteboard can’t upload PDFs” I guess, guess I’ll just sit around and wait for them to reverse it so I can, y’know, do my work.
