I read rather voraciously but after crash-landing into a slump this year, I decided to pivot from fics to actual novels. Imagine my surprise when that decision--paired with my taste, rather predictably literary--fucking improved my writing by a LONG-SHOT too?

I literally wrote some of hearthfire's best technical scenes on my phone, and it all reads so pretty. Granted, my writing's always been sorta pretty, in a clunky sorta way. My writing style's all about paring down the excess fat yk? How many ways can I style a sentence until it's whipcord thin and just as crackly? But now it feels like all my purple has weight.

Just wrote a 580-something word scene and it honestly feels way longer just because of how much subtext there is, among the pretty, and I just wanna curl up and scream sjjsjsjsj is this bragging? I feel like every time I talk about writing in this way, always in improvement, I'm bragging and maybe I intend to a little... just.

We always go on about being the person, somehow, that little-us would be proud of looking up to. Well I know where my 2018 self's face would be should she ever see me of today... just wanna squeal eternally jdhsjsjsjsksj
