As an artist, I LOVE creative collaboration. It's not a thing I get to do all that often, on the art side of things, as I tend to do all my own artwork from beginning to end on most of my projects, from pencils to final art. So, I'm always thrilled when I have the occasional opportunity to work on pieces with OTHER artists.  When I was doing the Wellkeeper, about half of the covers were inked by the fantastic Tony Kordos, and I adored that team-up. And recently, for the Finding Dee Kickstarter, I worked on a studio JAM cover for that book. An homage to the classic, Gil Kane "Giant Sized X-Men #1", I did reasonably tight digital "pencils" for the piece featuring Me, Heidi, and Poe bursting out of a shot with other characters from UNLIKELY HEROES STUDIOS! The awesome Laurie Foster did the inks over my pencils, which were then given awesome colors by Katy Rewston, who colored the book interiors as well. I am SUPER happy with how this came out, and now that the Kickstarter is in the can and folks are all receiving their books, I wanted to share the process a little! Hope you enjoy.

I don't think I ever realized how small Barry is...everyone looks so giant, next to him.

Me and @givemewallywestorgivemedeath agree: Barry's always been the skinny guy out of the speedsters. Jay is a brick of a guy, Wally built up muscle on purpose, Barry's fairly athletic but was always intended to look a lot less bulky.

This is Infantino's guide to drawing Barry that he made to give the artists who would come after him an idea of how he should be drawn. When Infantino became DC's art director, he obviously couldn't keep drawing a monthly comic, so they hired a new artist to pencil The Flash. They first hired Ross Andru. Andru was soon removed from the title because his style "gave an inappropriately leaden look" to the characters--Barry became noticeably broader shouldered with bulkier muscles under Andru.

They ended up hiring Gil Kane to replace Andru, and Barry returned to his original, trim shape.

Anyway. He's a smallish guy, especially next to people like Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne.

You guys ever read a fic that rewires your brain and then gets you to make art for the next like, six months?

I read arachnophobia by @rappaccini and proceded to immediately start work on this, graduated college, and finally finished finding sources today. If I can get one person to read this fic and think about gwen more I will be so very happy.

Gwen Stacy dies! Its what she does! Constantly! She is a ghost (spider) and she haunts the narrative and her defining moment is to fall!!! to be a stepping stone for PETER! to have multiversal confirmation that you were not meant to live is so. how would that weigh on you. biting into it with my teeth etc etc etc
