I understand doubting Garp's strength a little bit after chapter 1087, but what in the everloving fuck is this clickbait.

Momo's powers being an exact replica of Kaido's, except with a different color palette, is really good.
And Vegapunk considering the fruit a failure simply due to getting the color wrong was great.

Ok, I promise I have fic in my drafts! My schedule has just been crazy so I haven’t gotten to update much. It should hopefully settle again soon. I will respond to all comments too! I go through them in bulk and melt. Thank you! Thank you! For everyone who interacts! It’s wild and hard to believe. 😭💗
But here’s what just happened. Poly AI app. I saw GrandLineReview had a sponsorship with them in a recent video. And I thought…eff it, for science! I had a few minutes to kill, but not enough to write. I have no idea what data this app steals. I assume no privacy anyway with stuff like this. But fellow Doffy brain rotters, here you go if you dare. I even tried to stay professional! It went off the rails immediately. 🤣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whew! 😳 The app has many Doflamingos too. If you want this specific one, pick the Doffy with the same thumbnail in the red suit. I haven’t tried any other characters yet. I was short circuited quick enough already for a damn work day.

what if maybe people like the live action one piece because they like it and not because of some conspiracy theory on the marketing, review bombs, and Oda not being listened to (source on that please???)
Here's one of the producers talking about how Oda was avidly against the Garp story line and they had to 'convince' him multiple times for Garp to be added. The second this came out, everyone started to admit Garp's addition was terrible lmao https://twitter.com/GrandLineReview/status/1698838794710220825?t=JURApes2nmVSeYi0IYbvIw&s=19
And anon I'm not saying everyone got hypnotised into liking it, that's obviously ridiculous. I'm saying the air created from the mass marketing and hype stopped anyone from wanting to analyse it or talk about it past "this is the best thing on God's green earth". As always, you can like it to like it! I'm not saying anyone can't like it. What bothers me is when people say yeah this IS One Piece and EVERYTHING worked! Because it's genuinely crazy seeing people saying live action Zoro and animanga Zoro are the same Zoro. When they're very clearly not lol.

Hi! Do you watch any One Piece youtubers? If so, which ones do you like the most and what are your favourite vids of them? ❤
Hey!! I love watching analysis videos and reading meta posts. So far, my two favorite channels are of course MelonTeee and GrandLineReview.
When it comes to my favorite video, it has to be this one right here. It's the first Trafalgar Law-centric video I ever watched, and I couldn't imagine a better introduction to my understanding of him. It genuinely lays down a pretty good foundation for me to work him out better during my writing process.
With GrandLineReview my favorite are all of the tier list videos haha
Have a lovely day anon!!

GrandLineReview made a startling connection between Rocks D. Xebec and Buggy, and it would be one hell of a plot twist if this legendary, supposedly all-powerful pirate was actually some Miles Gloriosus who wound up with genuinely powerful subordinates though sheer dumb luck and/or improbable circumstance just like our Genius Jester. The generational xerox idea went one step further by proposing that Buggy was Rock's son who he entrusted to Roger the same way Roger would entrust Ace to Garp. Which despite bordering on a crackpot theory, would explain why Roger had an actual child on his pirate ship who he was effectively raising. Shanks was there too and has been "implied" to be of Celestial Dragon descent, which would create Themes if the son of a world-ruling aristocrat and the son of the greatest threat to said aristocracy grew up like brothers.

might be an odd question but have you ever drawn anything for grandlinereview? some of the art (like a little popsicle stick figure of blackbeard that appears sometimes) reminded me of your art (or vice versa)
yah i did a TON of art for him. i had to stop because i injured my wrist and wasn't able to keep up providing art for him along with my dayjob and my own art/games sadly....
i've also done loads of art for mittensquad (funny bethesda game challenge youtube guy) but he's on an indefinite hiatus so i haven't done anything for him in a long time too

Shihōin Can Mean Yet More Things
So I'm out here listening to One Piece videos and I get to GrandLineReview reviewing a theory originally by Ohara and YUDE-RON and what do I see starting from 23:50 (in GrandLineReview's video)?
Tumblr media
So the point gets made that Enies Lobby is called, in Japanese, Shihō no Shima (司法の島, Judicial Island). As you might imagine, this immediately piques my interest, because Shihōin (四楓院, Four Maple Institution). And then Ohara nicely went and detailed out some other homophones for Shihō (司法), namely 四方, 私報, and 至宝.
Standard disclaimer that Japanese absolutely loves homophones and homonyms in general, especially for puns and allusions, something which frustrates people learning the language to no end. So none of this is reaching and it all is, in fact, there and valid to point to.
Now I've already noted that Shihōin is a homophone for Four Dharma Seals (四法印) but now we have some others. (By the way notice that the character for Dharma, 法, meaning "method", law", "rule" and so on is also in Justice.) Let's review by applicability:
至宝院, "Greatest Treasure Institution": the Shihōin oversee the Hōgu (宝具, Treasured Tools) and Bugu (武具, Armaments) and you'll notice the 宝 is the same character between them
私報院, "Secret Information Institution": the Shihōin oversee the Onmitsukidō (隠密機動), which is normally viewed as a gaggle of ninja and spies
司法院, "Justice Institution": the Shihōin, in controlling the Onmitsukidō and thereby providing the Warden for the Great Central Underground Prison and Maggot's Nest, are thus responsible for apprehending suspects and fugitives, and the detention of criminals
四方院, "Four Directions Institution": this one is a little complicated, so let's go to the definitions:
Tumblr media
Now the four-sided allusions of (5) and (6) correspond well to the Shihōin emblem, which includes the crossed-rectangle sigil of the Onmitsukidō, as well as its own diamond design. However, that juxtaposition alone suggests eight sides, which takes us to the third meaning of (1), all directions. That then in turn suggests meanings (2), (3), and (4). This in turn could correlate to the Shihōin propensity for creating technological innovations under the guise of relics, and the fact that they themselves kind of look like they can be from anywhere. (Yoruichi herself is infamously the trope headliner for Ambiguously Brown, and has been identified as everything from African, Egyptian, Middle Eastern, Persian, Indian, Southeast Asian, and Okinawan, so, you can readily see this angle as well.)
However, this also reminds me of something else:
youtube
"The first thing you should know about us is that we have people everywhere... Am I right?"
This is quite literally true, if in reverse, as we see with both Kisuke and Tessai noting their connections to the Shihōin in TBTP.
It's also worth noting for 至宝, Greatest Treasure, that it can mean:
Tumblr media
This is somewhat interesting given that, as far as we know, only the Shihōin Head of House has a unique title.
(I myself have infamously staked out "Four Maple" as being a classy, poetic allusion for bloodshed by evoking the fall of blood like leaves, into splatters that look like maple leaves, but that is admittedly purely poetic license on my part.)
Given how neatly these five other homophones line up with describing the Shihōin, they are a bit "too well named", in that these titles all accurately describe them, which in my opinion lends great credence to the name being artificial—that is to say, they were renamed. And we know of exactly one guy in Bleach who renames things, Ichibē. Him having renamed the Shihōin into their present surname is also blog canon, and I think as an idea is much strengthened by finding out these other meanings.

Do you watch OP analysis videos like Grandlinereview or Mr Morj? If yes what do you think of them?
No I haven't. I have seen couple videos criticizing OP for being repetitive and for the massive amount of fanservice, both points which I can agree with.

I'm going to start making a list of people who I know are still taking sponsorship money from BetterHelp because at this point I can't believe that people are ignorant about them.
It's a very well known scam who actually has a negative effect on the people who are using it because they're at their most vulnerable. If I see a modern video with this sponsor I'm going to assume that the people who's taking the sponsor knows but doesn't care how much it harms the people who uses it.
This is mostly a list to remind myself not to watch these Youtubers again if I come across a video that seems interesting by them. I'm sure others would appreciate the heads-up. I'm sure I'll be adding to this list and I'm sure that I'll be adding other infamously harmful sponsorships when I see them.

IT'S YOU! FROM THE YOUTUBES!
Tumblr media
Love the channel! You're doing great!
Nothing makes me happier than to see someone unabashedly love something and share that passion so openly. I'm almost positive you and GrandLineReviews were the contributing factor into me falling in love with One Piece all over again after falling off midway through the Whole Cake Island Arc (i know, i know).
So, thank you.
Have an excellent day!
WAAAH THANK YOU!!! Thank you so much for enjoying my stuff I couldn't be happier I helped you fall in love with one piece 🫶🫶
