Callie is the quiet sort who prefers the company of books to people. She doesn't go out of her way to make friends and can often seem cold or even rude to people who don't know her, but she's quite friendly once you manage to break through her surface. Deep down, she feels very alone due to her parents being distant and being an only child. She struggles with creating meaningful connections but craves them deeply.
She responds best to speaking of common interests, like books or music. She's a little bit clueless about the Muggle world and finds learning about Muggle culture fascinating. Callie is creative and sometimes scribbles poetry in the margins of her essays or in little notebooks. She doesn't have ambitions to become a poet as a fulltime job, though.

Strengths: Clever, works well under pressure, loyal to loved ones

"The past and the present and the future -- Faith and hope and charity -- The heart and the brain and the body give you three as a magic number."
x~x~x~x
HPHM Cardverse developed by @ariparri // Read about Lane's escape from the Country of Spades! // meet the "Three of Hearts," Sarahi Silvers! @dat-silvers-girl
x~x~x~x
The life of Lane Cromwell has always seemingly been made up of threes. She'd been her parents' third child, as well as the youngest of three sisters. She'd studied gold and silversmithing under her father for three years. She fell in love with her husband after three days. Her tiny, close-knit family was comprised of herself, her son Jacob, and her daughter Carewyn. It took her three times to score her dream job in Spades, working as a museum curator and historian. Even her life, it seemed, could be split up into three stages --
Past. Present. Future.
Daughter. Wife. Mother.
Diamond Empire. Country of Spades. Land of Clubs.
Three of Diamonds
The three of diamonds is the card of professionalism and career. It means that you should stay focused on your work and business. Do not let some shiny object distract you. The three of diamonds suggests that you will be well-appreciated and rewarded for your current work. It can also represent a sudden surprise.
In the Diamond Empire, Lane's life was dictated by her role as the third daughter of the Cromwell Clan Jewelers. She was the brain of her siblings, and she'd been trained to solely focus on that role she had to play, polishing gems to perfection that her father could sell and quietly obeying his will in how to live her life. But then, out of the blue one day, a opportunity for a better life appeared, in the form of a young man from the Country of Spades named Evan Bach, who showed Lane her first real glimpse of sincere, selfless love. And in the end, Lane chose that opportunity for a better, loving life with Evan over career, wealth, and her abusive family. She and Evan eloped and ran off to the Country of Spades to start a family far away from Charles Cromwell -- which, quite frankly, is the best reward all of Lane's hard work could've ever received.
Three of Spades
The three of spades is an unwelcome card, to say the least. It represents a change of plans, one that usually results in emotional pain and a broken heart. In a mild case, this card can announce a cancelled date or misunderstandings between two lovers, but at its worst, it can be an omen for a break-up or divorce.
Sadly, as much as Evan and Lane had loved each other and as grateful as Lane was for Evan helping her escape her toxic family, their relationship did not last. After years of marital strife, Evan left his family, leaving Lane to raise their two children Jacob and Carewyn on her own. Fortunately this change of plans was one Lane was able to adapt to -- she got a job and set about rebuilding her life with her "bairns." Her son Jacob scored a job with the "Counselor of Spades," himself, Duncan Ashe, and her daughter Carewyn earned a scholarship to attend school in the Kingdom of Hearts. Soon both Lane and Jacob would leave Spades to join her there...
Just as it seemed like everything was on track, however, Lane was hit with another terrible change of plans. Lane's work visa to Hearts was rescinded, and not long later Jacob sent his mother an urgent letter telling her to leave Spades without him, before Rakepick could capture her. Hating the thought of leaving her son behind but knowing her getting caught would make it that much harder for Jacob to escape himself and potentially put Carewyn at risk, Lane was forced to flee on foot, southward into the Land of Clubs.
Three of Clubs
To draw the three of clubs means you've been dealt a good hand. It's a sign that your judgment is sound and that your efforts will be reap success. The three of clubs has such a positive influence that it's a trump that counteracts all the negative cards next to it. It's an omen that you will gain fortune and fame. In some readings, it can even mean hope.
Fortunately, once Lane escaped into Clubs, she found sanctuary under the King of Clubs, Orion Amari. The King and his court were also responsible for Lane reuniting with her daughter Carewyn, who had since been crowned the new Queen of Hearts. And after the War was over, Lane and Carewyn were also miraculously reunited with Jacob, who'd been through his own fair share of tribulations and become infamous across Cinderhaven as "the Escape Artist."
After the Civil War in Spades was over, Lane decided not to move to Hearts with Carewyn or return to her old job and flat in Spades. Instead Lane lived the rest of her life quietly and peacefully in the Land of Clubs as a royal historian. Clubs' rolling fields, untamed woods, ancient libraries, and clean air were medicinal to Lane's spirit, and her resettlement allowed Lane to take some well-deserved time chasing her own happiness, instead of just keeping her family afloat financially. And as part of that happiness, her cottage in the woods beside Clubs' museum and university was always open for visits from those few precious people she loved more than anyone else in the world.
For the first time in her life, the third daughter of Charles Cromwell had found herself in a place where she could be fully herself and that truly embodied the feeling of the word "home."

Synopsis: Anything your soulmate loses finds its way to you. Rebekah takes an embarrassingly long amount of time to realize something she should’ve known all along.
Genre: fluff, angst
Notes: written for the hphm 2024 ship week! I know it’s day one and I’m using a day 2 prompts but they’re my favorites. unfortunately, inspiration is finicky and I just have to follow where it leads. hope nobody minds! this could technically be a two-in-one with the DANCE prompt. I completely lost track of time soon so it ends kinda abruptly so sorry about that!
**Also a quick note, I’d grown too attached to the backstory I’d come up with before mcs canon dad was introduced, so I’m ignoring that.
Tumblr media
Rebekah’s soulmate, she determined at a young age, must be quite forgetful. Growing up, it was a remarkably common occurrence for her to wake up in the morning with some strange and foreign object sitting on her nightstand. Being a witch, she was used to all kids of magical items with powers beyond the imagination. What made these items so strange, however, was the striking mundanity of them.
She remembers vividly the morning she awoke to a small red plastic box on her nightstand. Inspecting it found a small blade nestled on the inside. With her brother at school, she had to settle for asking her parents if they had any idea what the odd thing was.
Her father laughed brightly when he saw in, small enough to fit in her palm. He walked over to his desk nestled in the living room corner and brought back one of his muggle writing utensils.
“This, my dear, is a pencil sharpener.” He chuckled and plucked it carefully from between her fingers.
Putting the pointy end in the sharpener, he turns it a few times. When he removes it, Rebekah is astonished to realize it’s sharper than it was before. How unique.
“I think those are better than quills,” Rebekah giggles and examines both the pencil and the sharpener. “This is so plain! And it’s way easier to write with.”
Her father grins happily at her apparent approval and taps the sharpener curiously. “Where did you get this if you don’t know what it is?” He asks.
“I found it in my room. I think it was—”
“Your soulmate,” her father finishes for her astutely.
Rebekah is more than pleased by this development. Her soulmate always loses the strangest things. She loves getting to see these things. Forming a picture in her mind of what they must be like. If they use lots of pencils, maybe they’re an artist! Or maybe they like writing stories.
Her father, on the other hand, turns away from her with the faintest frown. His brows are furrowed as he considers something in his head and she grabs his hand.
“Dad?”
Her voice snaps him from his thoughts and his frowns is quickly replaced with a smile. “Oh, sorry, Beks. It’s nothing. I’m glad you get to have this.”
In her youthfulness, Rebekah does not pull at this thread. She accepts this reply and focuses back on the pencil sharpener. Maybe if she would have, she could’ve saved herself and her soulmate a lot of time.
~✰~
The night that her brother disappeared, Rebekah couldn’t sleep. She’d caught him leaving in the middle of the night and Jacob managed to convince her to go back to bed and that she’d see him in the morning. Despite listening to him, Rebekah just had a sinking, dreadful feeling that he was wrong.
She tossed and turned all night. Her stomach felt like it had been twisted into several knots. When sleep finally claimed her, the sun had been just beginning to rise.
When she did eventually wake up, it was to the exact news she had feared. She wasn’t sure how she knew, but she did. Her parents could barely say the words.
Nobody really spoke that day. Everyone just cried. Even though Jacob had only been reported missing, it felt like they were mourning him already. Rebekah couldn’t get away fast enough, back to the quiet solitude of her room. At least there she couldn’t hear the despair of her mother’s cries and couldn’t see the emptiness in her father’s eyes.
She changed into her pajamas with haste, hoping that maybe if she went to sleep, she wouldn’t have to feel this way anymore. At least for a time. Though, When she returned to her bed there was something there waiting for her.
Rebekah was surprised to see it. Usually, she only received her soulmate’s things in the morning.
Yet there it was, plain as day. Her steps were hesitant as she approached it. A long day of grief had left her tired and weary. But when her fingers met the soft fur, her tears began anew.
It was a teddy bear, dressed impeccably in a little white bow tie around its neck. The soft fur was a dark, chocolatey brown and felt like what she would imagine a princess’s pillow to be like. There was a small smile stitched into its face and round black eyes watching her. As soon as she touched it, she crumbled again.
Rebekah sat on her bed, pulled it into her lap, and wrapped her arms all the way around it. Her tears got the fur wet, but having something to catch them provided an unspeakable amount of support.
She wasn’t sure if her soulmate had sensed something was wrong and lost it on purpose. Or perhaps they were just that absent-minded. Whatever the case may be, all Rebekah knows is that night, her tears weren’t entirely unhappy.
~✰~
When Rebekah was finally accepted into Hogwarts, she had some faith that she might find her soulmate there.
Throughout the years, they had all come to the conclusion that her soulmate had to be a muggle. That, or perhaps a muggle-born. It was the only explanation they had for all the lost items Rebekah had received up to that point. This might’ve bothered someone else, but Rebekah cared little of the circumstances of her soulmate’s birth. Her own father is a muggle and the best man she knows so this possibility does not perturb her.
Still, she would prefer that they were still of the wizarding world if only so she could meet them sooner.
It was, in fact, right outside of potions that Rebekah met Ben Copper for the first time. Perhaps it was Merula’s bad attitude that had soured the mood or their shy natures that threw her off. It only matters that when they met, the thought did not immediately cross her mind. Surely, soulmates should compliment each other—she thought. Whereas her and Ben could barely take turns muttering their sentences.
Even as the year went on and she discovered he was indeed a muggle-born, Rebekah had all but forgotten about the possibility of meeting her soulmate when faced with the potentiality of getting her brother back.
The task began to consume her. If she could find him, if she could save him then she could bring him back and fix their family! Their mother and father had not been the same since Jacob disappeared. The house was too empty. The old pictures in frames on the wall were too painful to look at anymore.
By the time one might start to connect the dots, Rebekah’s priorities were fully somewhere else.
The only time that this question ever returned to cross her mind, was when Hogwarts held for them a ball in her fourth year.
Of course, it was with no small amount of glee that she found herself accompanying Ben as his date. She would be lying if she said she did not feel something for him. A crush if ever she’s had one, but the distant thought of her soulmate always held her back from seeking more. She does not have time for a boyfriend anyway. Not if she hopes to find Jacob before she graduates.
But when she met Ben at the top of the ballroom stairs, the spark that ran through her felt more magical than magic. She could enjoy tonight at least. They had both certainly earned it.
While they were dancing, a confession slipped off her tongue, one so silly it made her laugh.
“Y’know,” she says. “I had planned to make you a custom tie. It’s probably a lot for a dance, I know, but I’ve been experimenting a lot with painting. I’ve been talking to Filch and he helped me with a charm that would allow me to reflect my paintings onto an object. I thought it would be a nice gift but I guess it wasn’t meant to be.”
Ben’s cheeks pinked at the admission, a small, intimate smile on his face. “How come?”
“I lost it,” Rebekah laughs at herself. How she could manage to lose one of her own projects is beyond her. She must’ve been more distracted than she thought. “It was supposed to have stars on it. The Sagittarius constellation specifically since I know that’s your sign.”
Rebekah had missed the expression on his face then, but his feet stuttered in their practiced steps. Her eyes caught his and asked him an unspoken question.
Ben merely cleared his throat and looked bashfully away. “That’s—wow. That’s a shame. I think I would’ve loved it.”
“Me too.”
~✰~
Graduation was a very bittersweet occasion. Stepping foot into Hogwarts had opened up so many doors and lit the fire of several hopes and dreams. All of which has now been effectively shattered. Aside from the fact that she did manage to save her brother, nothing has panned out the way she wanted. It would not be a stretch to say that she is leaving the school a more hardened woman than the little girl who walked in.
As is tradition, the graduating class is throwing a huge going away party in the school’s largest courtyard. Though, many of her peers can be seen slipping away here and there.
Rebekah turns and checks the time on the clocktower, sighing as she takes a sniff of the firewhiskey Andre had insisted she try a sip of.
“Waiting for someone?”
The familiar voice shocks her back to the present and she turns to find Ben grinning at her. Suddenly, the whole party sounds a little less loud and some of the voices fall away. She smiles back.
“I was worried you wouldn’t show.” She muses and he offers a playful look to the drink in her hand. A laugh rips from her and she shakes her head, turning around to pour out the contents from the goblet she’d been drinking from.
“Well, it’s our going away party. I wanted to make sure I was dressed appropriately.”
Rebekah chuckles takes a step back to examine the outfit he chose. It’s hard to tear her stare away from his eyes, soft and brown, and his hair—the blond strands now more stylishly ruffled than when they were kids. He appears to have settled on a darker outfit than she’s used to seeing on him, but it actually lends itself to a more mysterious look that she thinks he’s been aiming for recently. Admits the dark backdrop of the night, she can’t say it doesn’t feel on theme.
“Recognize anything?” He tries to tease, but the words sound a bit strangled and nervous in his throat.
She offers him a puzzled look before inspecting again. It takes far longer than she cares to admit for her eyes to widen and her mouth to drop open.
“Ben, is that—”
“It’s a tie I’ve had for a while now,” he informs her casually, even if his nervous posture betrays him. “I’ve never really had a good opportunity to wear it, though.”
Rebekah shakes her head, still completely dumbfounded. Her thoughts are raving too fast for her logic to keep up with. “Where did you get that?”
“I found it,” he murmurs then, low but gentle.
His eyes soften and Rebekah doesn’t have the words. “I lost it…”
“I know.”
She blinks and he grabs her hands to pull her closer. She allows it easily. His proximity warms her even though the night isn’t cold.
“Have you known this whole time?” Is the only question all the voices in her head can agree on.
Ben’s chuckle is a breath of fresh air that washes over her. “No. I mean, I had suspicions but they weren’t confirmed until the night we went to the ball together.”
“You’ve known since then?” He nods delicately like he’s afraid of spooking her. “Then why didn’t you say anything?”
He can only shrug. A wry smile makes a crooked show of his mouth. There’s a hint of self-deprecation there that she despises. “It was never the right time. We weren’t ready.”
That is a point she can’t argue. Even now there are things about herself she wishes she could alter, moments and experiences she wishes hadn’t changed her, but it feels like it’s taken her this long to free herself and find herself after drowning for so long in all the things she thought she had to do.
“But I’m ready now,” Ben assures her. This time, his voice is firm, optimistic even. “If you are.”
Rebekah isn’t sure what to say, so she decides to trust her actions to speak for her.
She kisses him beneath the moonlight, a clocktower, and a show of fireworks. As she does, she cannot help but laugh at herself and how crazy she’s been to have not seen him sooner.

Jacob, and both of MC’s parents were all in the same house as MC? This means that MC is a half blood at the very least. Tbh they seem to know next to nothing about muggles so I’m not surprised they’re not muggle born. Although they seem lost about some things in the wizarding world too so I don’t know what’s up with that. Maybe they grew up really sheltered or something.
Yeah, MC was never a muggle-born, there's basically no way to interpret them that way without completely ignoring the canon. If nothing else, we've always known they grew up in the wizarding world, they mentioned it in Ben's debut scene.
As far as MC's family all being in the same House as them, I can shrug it off. It's not especially surprising. MC is supposed to be our character to mold, (I mean, to a large extent they're not, but in theory they are) and virtually everyone is who they are because of how they were raised. (Basically every Psych class I've ever taken has taught me that childhood affects everything.) So in that sense, the writers won't want to give MC's family canon Houses, that might indicate their personalities, and indicate ways in which growing up with people of those Houses might have affected MC. They could probably do so with Jacob considering how well-defined he is by now, but back at the beginning of the game, he wasn't a character so much as he was an idea, and they may not have entirely known his personality yet. (Also there was that whole "Your brother ruined our reputation" bit that never made much sense, especially for Slytherin/Hufflepuff MCs...)
I think MC was absolutely sheltered, their mother was strict about them learning to ride a broomstick and seems to have been authoritative in general, at least before Jacob went missing. At which point she appears to have tuned out and become very hands-off. Not sure what that says, or what it means, but I bet MC didn't have very many friends (or any) other than Jacob, prior to their days at Hogwarts. With him gone, and Peregrine gone, and their mother flying off to see family (in New York apparently) MC would have been alone a lot of the time while they were at home, so I'm guessing they live for the friends they've made at school. Hell, that could play into why they might be tempted to join R. Like Peregrine pointed out, their time at Hogwarts is coming to it's end. And they really don't have a support system at all, outside of The Circle. Oh shit, they might be lured into The Cabal the same way that Merula was...

Can you make a Charlie Weasley x Jacob's sibling where the reader can actually speak to dragons? Like Hiccup in httyd books or Harry with the snake-like beings
Oooh interesting concept! For purposes of the piece I'm not gonna worry about why or how the MC can speak to dragons and we're just gonna not ask questions~
---------------------------
"[Y/N!] Have you seen Charlie?"
You look up from your sandwich and shake your head, mouth still half-full.
"I haven't. Is he okay?"
Bill runs his hand through his hair, and you realize he's sweating. "I'm worried he's not. I haven't seen him all day, and we were supposed to meet for lunch. It's unlike him to be this late."
You hear a scoff from behind you. Merula lilts her head.
"The second filthy Weasley?" She snorts. "He probably heard Barnaby going on about the dragon he saw in the forest today. Apparently Kettleburn let it loose or something."
Bill blanches. "Oh bloody hell."
You and Bill sprint to the forest with such speed and determination that you're both heaving by the time you get there. Bill is frantic.
"Where--where did Barnaby say he saw it again?" He pants.
You point in the general direction as you try and catch your breath.
Bill springs forward, and you follow closely. Greenery whips against your face as you push through branches. Leaves crack under your boots as you race through. Bowtruckles scatter above. Until finally, you emerge into a clearing--
--and see Charlie, alone, holding a steak out in front of him.
Bill sighs.
"Bill?" Charlie looks up. "Oh, crap. Did I lose track of time?"
"Yes!" He marches forward to his younger brother and inspects him. "You had me worried sick! I thought you were dragon bait."
Charlie shakes his head. "No, unfortunately not."
Bill spits. "Unfortunately?!"
"Well-- you know, Barnaby said that Kettleburn's dragon escaped, and so I was hoping to see it-- I didn't mean to worry anybody--"
Charlie continues, and Bill begins lecturing him, but you notice the Bowtruckles and the Fairies have suddenly begun to hide.
"Um, boys?"
They don't hear you.
"Why would you go looking for a dragon ALONE?"
"Well, Barnaby said it's green, so it's probably only a Welsh Green. They're mostly harmless--"
The leaves on the trees begin to shake.
"Boys," you say a bit louder. "I think--"
ROAARR!!
A huge dragon booms into the clearing, the force of its wings knocking everyone over as it lands.
Bill and Charlie scramble back.
"Oh crap," Charlie mutters.
"Charlies? You said Welsh Greens are harmless, right?"
Charlie shakes his head. "This isn't a Green. It's a Norwegian Ridgeback. And she seems hungry."
The dragon swishes its tail and cuts through a row of trees like they're made of butter. They groan as they fall to the forest floor.
You hurry and scramble to your feet.
"Charlie!" Bill cries. "Throw it the bloody steak at it so we can get away!"
Charlie tosses the steak forward, but the dragon screeches, uninterested. It takes a step forward.
Bill tries to draw his wand.
You leap forward, between the dragon and the boys. You hold both palms open towards the dragon.
"[Y/N]?!" Bill shouts. "Move! You'll get killed!"
You ignore him and keep your eyes solely on the dragon.
"We mean you no harm," you say in draconic.
The dragon swishes its tail, agitated. It snorts, and steam furls out of its nostrils.
"Why are you upset?" You try again.
"[Y/N]?" Charlie asks. You hear the two boys moving to their feet behind you. "What's going on?"
Finally, the dragon lowers its head to you. A low growl rumbles from its throat.
You swallow. "She--she's upset," you explain, "because some First Year let her out of Care for Creatures. She misses Kettleburn."
You briefly look behind you and see that Bill's jaw has dropped, dumbfounded, and Charlie's eyes are twinkling.
"Are you a dovahkiin-tongue, [Y/N]?! Why did you never tell me this before?!"
Bill punches him on the arm.
You turn your attention back to the dragon, and inch forward, your palms still open. "We can take you back to Kettleburn. He will probably feed you there, too. We just need you to stay calm."
The dragon narrows its eyes at you, its nostrils flaring again. But then, it nods.
You all sigh with relief.
~~~~
Under your guidance, the Weasley boys manage to heard the Norwegian Ridgeback back into Care for Magical Creatures. Kettleburn asked Bill, as the senior student, to help him feed the beast. Bill obeyed, but promised to give Charlie a stern talking-to later.
You and Charlie watch as they disappear behind the treeline.
Finally, Charlie turns to you and grabs your hands.
"[Y/N]!" He exclaims. "That was brilliant! Why didn't you tell me you could speak to dragons!?"
Your face turns hot. You blink, your mind going blank.
Charlie's hands are warm around yours. He's beaming.
"Um," you try, "I. I guess I always thought it's weird, so I don't talk about--"
"Weird?!" He interrupts. "Are you joking?! What I'd give to be a dovahkiin-tongue! That's incredible! You're incredible!"
His smile brightens, and you feel the blood rush into your ears.
"C'mon," he says, and begins pulling you off. "We've got to talk more about this. I have SO many questions!"
~~~
For the rest of the day, Charlie would not stop asking you questions about your unique skill. Not that you minded the extra time with him, of course.
You're both sitting in the courtyard together, the clear night sky twinkling overhead.
"Fus," you try explaining again.
"Fus," he says, but his pronunciation is... horribly off.
Your bite your cheek. "How can I explain it... less 'oo' like a cow mooing."
He laughs, then perks up. "Hey! Maybe it would help if I actually feel the shape of your facial muscles when you do it. Would you mind that?"
The sparkle in his eyes is so enthusiastic, so sincere, it makes your brain freeze.
"U-uhm, sure," you start, but before you even finish, he's reached his hand out to cup your cheek.
You hope the starlight above isn't enough to illuminate how intensely your face is burning.
"Now, let's try again," Charlie beams.
You gulp and feel your heart restart from where it was frozen.
"Fus," you manage to stutter.
Charlie blinks, then smiles his brilliant smile.
"Interesting," he muses. "I think that helped. I felt that you actually suck your cheek in, like in a whistle, for the vowel."
His hand is still on your cheek, soft and warm. All you can do is nod.
He holds your gaze and doesn't move. He doesn't say anything for the next moment-- only stares at you, his lips curled into a soft smile.
"You know," he finally says, gently. "You have really soft skin, [Y/N.]"
Your heart backflips.
And --for a second, under the moonlight-- you swear you see his freckled cheeks dusted pink, too.
After what feels like an eternity, he lowers his hand and clears his throat. "Well, ah," he says, "it's getting late, isn't it? We should probably head back to the dorms before the professors yell at us."
You nod hastily, your heart still pounding. "Yes, you're right."
"But! We'll definitely pick up where we left off tomorrow!"
He bids you goodnight, and later that night, in bed, you can't help but inch your hand up to the cheek he had held so intently.
Pick up where we left off...
You smile as you drift to sleep.

Ok ok but if they'll introduced Father, they have to introduce Mom, right? RIGHT??
MC can't be this moral and brave angel if our dad is evil, so I hope our mom is secretly badass and will bring our father down.

I really wonder how Jacob had been feeling in portait, for several years. All in darkness, with nothing. As a Legilimens, he peobably had hard time there.
I have some tiny headcanons about being Legilimens. I think that Legilimency would have causing the person to see their memories, as i like to call it 'getting stuck in their memories' , like a side effect. Almost like Jacob was using that spell on himself. Because with nothing do to in portrait, he only has himself. Only has his own memories to see and honestly, thinking is only thing he can do.
Would he see the accident that cost Duncan's life, over and over? Would he watch everything he did to see where did he made mistakes? Would he feel guilty for ruining MC's life? Making them live everything he also had to live? Or was he able to see MC's memories clearly? Did he stay sane because he actually had a connection to real life, through MC's eyes? I know he doesnt know everything that mc lived because if he did know he would have warn mc about Rakepick but. Yeah, im just thinking about it.
Tumblr media
When the silence is too loud, you can't even hear your own voice. And in portrait, i dont think he had anything else but silence.
Tumblr media
I finally designed my own Jacob, Yakup Rhea.
It was surely weird for him to tell Night touch the column. They were already here for it, why did he yelled?
Yeah i know in game his reaction was more lovely buuut, i think i like this version more.
I really wanna redraw the reunion scene in Buried Vault. Both Night and Yakup will be disappointed to not see the sibling they missed so much.
Oh and i wonder, what could go possibly wrong when Yakup wanted to leave to find Rakepick 👀

Happy Mother’s Day, Mama!
In honor of Mother’s Day, I decided to write a fluff, cavity inducing story featuring the Winger family!
As those of you who got to know my MC, Judith Harris, she’s, in a sense, like a background character. She loves her friends and someone who would do just about anything for someone she cares about but in a sense fades in the background.
Once she moved to Britain, her mother took it upon herself to “raise” her. Which was through abuse: physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Judith truly believes she doesn’t deserve anything nice. For many years, a lot of her friends never knew when was her birthday. For several reasons:
-Her preexisting mentality about not deserving anything, gifts included.
-Her birthday is just a month after school starts, so a new curse would already be wrecking havoc throughout the school. And she practicing for the Quidditch matches that are in November.
So when she found out she was going to be an expecting mother, she flashed back to one of her mother’s last words to her. Which was basically she’ll be just like her.
While she was anxious about being a mom, she was determined to be the best mother she can be for her children, Bakari and Kendrick.
Who, in turn, want to show their appreciation for their mama.
Enough rambling, on with the story!
------------------------------------------
(2006)
It was Sunday, March 26. In the early hours of the morning, two boys can be found sleeping peacefully in their beds.
It wasn’t until the early morning rays began to filter through the room when the eldest awoke. Red eyes slowly blinked open, lazily taking in his surroundings until they landed on the calendar on the wall.
The young boy shot up from his bed, scrambling off his bed to get a closer look at the date. A giddy smile formed on his face before he rushed to his little brother’s bed side.
“Kendrick... Kendrick... wake up,” he whispered, poking at the lump hiding underneath the blankets. He heard a grunt and the head of his little brother poked out of the blanket cocoon.
“Too early,” the younger boy grumbled. Bakari chuckled at his 5 year old brother’s obvious disdain. Pale gold eyes glared back at him.
“Kendrick, it’s Mother’s Day, remember,” the eldest reminded. It took a few moments for Bakari’s words to fully settle in Kendrick’s sleep ridden mind, but when they did, the younger boy perked up.
“Oh! Do you think Dad is up,” he asked, remembering their plans. Bakari looked thoughtful for a moment before replying,
“Maybe, maybe not. Let’s get ready though, just in case he is.” Kendrick nodded, eager to surprise their mama...
-------
Not even ten minutes later, another pair of red eyes opened.
Talbott was naturally an early riser. He always liked the peace and quiet of the mornings, as well as getting a head start of his day.
But today, he made sure to wake up early for a particular special reason.
And that reason was still sleeping soundly in his arms.
He smiled and pressed a chaste kiss to his sleeping wife’s cheek.
He and Judith have been married for over a decade. He remembered proposing to her just a year and a half after they graduated on New Year’s Eve in their apartment flat at the time. He remembered seeing her walk down the aisle alongside her older brother. He remembered the shy happiness in her beautiful eyes when the priest gave him permission to kiss his new wife. He remembered the nervous breakdown she had when she found out she was pregnant.
There were a few times that Talbott witnessed her in the midst of an anxiety attack. He knew it was thanks to the emotional scars left by her mother. While Judith has gotten better mentally, she did had her down periods.
That was a drastic down period.
Talbott never felt more heartbroken when he heard his little bird’s cries and sobs through the bathroom door. Her broken words that she wouldn’t be a good mother.
It killed him on the inside since Judith locked him out and he couldn’t hold her and give her the comfort that he knew that she needed.
He spoke to her gently from his side of the door, reassuring her that she wasn’t anything like the woman who gave birth to her. He seen her heart.
Despite her semi cold exterior... she had the warmest personality.
She was always there for someone in need.
She would do almost anything to get a person to smile. To open up.
She’s been there for her friends for years.
She’s been there for him for years.
He could trust in the fact that she would do the same for their child.
After his speech, silence fell between the two before the tell tale sound of the door unlocking hit Talbott’s ears. Talbott only had a few seconds to brace himself before the door swung open and his wife basically leapt into his arms.
She didn’t say much but Talbott knew she was appreciative by the way she was hugging him.
Fast forward to now, they had two beautiful boys and he couldn’t be more grateful.
Bakari and Kendrick simply adored their mother and all that she does for them, so they had asked him to help make a mother’s day breakfast for her. Along with a few other things.
Lucky for him, his wife was a rather heavy sleeper. Making slipping away much easier. Carefully, he slipped his arms from around her and quietly crept out of bed.
Judith grunted softly in her sleep, rolling over to Talbott’s side before settling there. Talbott stifled a chuckle at his little wife’s adorable behavior before heading into their bathroom to freshen up.
---------
Within the next hour, Talbott and his two sons were in the kitchen making breakfast for the sleeping woman. Thankfully after Judith’s lesson on how to make pancakes, there was less of a mess and no fire.
Bakari was helping their father cook since he was a bit older. Kendrick was happy to help fetch any ingredients they needed as well as organizing their gifts.
After an hour and a half, everything was prepared...
-----------
Judith was still sound asleep when her three loves quietly crept into the bedroom. Her nose twitched at the smell of food, causing her eyes to flutter open slightly.
Though she hid underneath the blanket when sunlight assaulted her eyelids.
“Whyyyyyy,” she groaned. Bakari chuckled, glancing at his little brother who had the decency to blush. Talbott ran a hand along the visible curve of his little bird’s body.
“Wake up, darling... we have a surprise for you...” Judith let out a curious grunt.
‘We?’ she thought. Sitting up, she pulled the blanket from her head.
“Happy Mother’s Day!” Judith stared wide eyed at her two beaming sons, who looked up at her with the most adorable hopeful expressions on their faces.
Bakari held a breakfast tray with a plate with heart shaped pancakes, eggs, bacon, sliced mangos and melon and a tall glass of passion fruit juice.
Kendrick held a bouquet of dwarf sunflowers, yellow tulips, and dark purple roses in one hand and a card in his other hand.
Judith slowly turned to her husband, who had a smile tugging his lips and a box in his hand.
“I-I... what?” Bakari and Kendrick sported the twin frowns, red and pale gold eyes staring up at their mother with worry reflecting in them.
“We wanted to surprise you for Mother’s Day... don’t you like it, Mama,” Kendrick asked quietly. Judith felt tears building in her eyes, her chest filled with emotion.
“I-I do, my love... you guys didn’t need to go through this trouble for me,” their mother said softly.
“But we wanted to, Mama! We really wanted to show that we love and appreciate you,” Bakari said. Tears were now running down Judith’s cheeks, worrying the two boys.
“Oh... come here you two...”  Bakari and Kendrick set the items on the bedside before crawling into bed. They were quickly engulfed in a tight embrace by their mother.
“Thank you my two little princes, you two have no idea how much this means to me...” they heard their mother whisper. They nuzzled against her, taking in her comforting scent they grew accustom to from they were babies.
Talbott silently observed the scene with a small smile. He knew this was something Judith needed. She was a lovely mother, and needed to be reminded of that from their two sons.
Leaning over, he placed a kiss on her temple.
“Why don’t you read the card we got you, darling,” he offered. Judith perked up a bit, releasing her boys so she can sit up straighter. Talbott handed her the card. Bakari and Kendrick remained on either side of their mother, eager to see their mama’s reaction.
Judith opened the card and silently read.
“Dear Mama,
We wanted to wish you the best Mother’s Day. We can’t express how much we love and appreciate you. You’re always there for both of us. When we’re learning. When we’re sick. When we’re scared. When we’re sad. When we’re mad. We always know that you’ll be there. With your bright smile that’s like sunshine. With your pretty voice, especially when you sing. Your warm hugs and loving kisses. Your pretty gold eyes.
We’ll always be your princes, just like you’ll always be our queen.
Love, Bakari and Kendrick”
Kendrick smiled when he saw the soft look in his mother’s eyes.
“Dad wrote something too,” the youngest pointed out. Judith spared a shy glance at her husband before reading the other side of the card.
“Dear Judith,
Happy Mother’s Day, my beautiful little bird. Words can’t describe how much I love you. You gave me a life I never thought I could have. A family. For that, I’m forever grateful for you. Forever indebted to you. You deserve all the love in the world. And our sons believe so as well, this was their idea after all. You are a Queen and you deserve to be treated as such.
Thank you for all that you do, my darling.
Love, Talbott”
‘I’ve gone soft, I can feel the waterworks coming again...’ Judith thought. Bakari and Kendrick leaned in to place a kiss on their mother’s cheeks.
“We love you, Mama,” they said. Judith let out a chuckle, kissing their heads.
“And I love you...” Judith looked up at her husband with a shy smile.
“All of you,” she whispered. Talbott chuckled, placing a peck on her lips.
“There’s still one more thing before you eat,” he said. He handed her the box with a smile. Judith opened it to find a gold necklace. Two gold feather charms with the engravings ‘B’ and ‘K’ were found on it.
Birds of a feather flock together,” Bakari chirped. Judith let out a laugh, allowing her husband to put on the necklace for her.
“What’s so funny, Mama,” Kendrick asked.
“Many years ago, your father was someone who flew solo,” Judith chuckled, smirking at Talbott who in turn playfully rolled his eyes.
“That was before I found my mate for life, little bird. Now hush and eat, we all know how you get when you’re hungry.” As if on cue, Judith’s stomach rumbled, causing the males around her to laugh. Judith blushed, grumbling underneath her breath before smiling.
The rest of the morning, the family laid in bed happily chatting.
The males gladly showing their love for the woman they were grateful to call “Wife” and “Mother”.

Luca: Because they like getting along with their friends, and being anything other than good and nice feels icky.
Gail: Because she feels an intense, crippling obligation to live up to her own ideals and represent the integrity that she believes in.
Nina: Because she's already given up too much for her goals, and no way will she allow it to have all been for nothing.
(Nina's technically a villain but she thinks she's a hero, so it counts.)
I’m curious now, what keeps your characters doing the hero thing?
Faith? A sense of duty? Resigned to their fate?
Think long and hard and tell me what it is that motivates them to do what they don’t need to.

"Consider yourself at home! Consider yourself one of the family! We've taken to you so strong, It's clear we're going to get along!"
~"Consider Yourself" from Oliver!
x~x~x~x
Behold! Here I issue a prompt to fellow HPHM players -- write a post featuring at least one (1) letter either received or sent by Molly Weasley about your MC, whether one sent by or to Bill, Charlie, Percy, or another one of her kids! If you accept this challenge, please consider tagging me so I and others can learn a bit more about your kid's relationship with our favorite ginger family! ❤️💛🩵💚
x~x~x~x
Molly Weasley was a very doting mother. Although it was understandably quite difficult to pay all seven of her children equal amounts of attention, that didn't mean she didn't try very hard to be active in all of their lives or that she didn't insist that her kids who were away at Hogwarts write to her frequently. The child who was best at keeping in touch with Molly was her oldest, Bill, but after Charlie started attending school, he wrote home relatively frequently too, thanks in large part to Bill reminding him to do so.
One of Charlie's longest letters that first year ended up being one Molly kept long after the fact. At first the Weasley matriarch kept it solely for her own reference, in case she needed to write a stern letter to Albus Dumbledore herself, but she later kept it as a memento of the very first time she ever heard the name of the girl who would become her two oldest sons' closest friend.
Mum -- You'll never BELIEVE what happened at school today! I'm just about to breathe fire about it, I'm so angry!! Okay, so you remember Ben Copper, right? He's my Muggle-born dormmate, the one who's afraid of everything. Well, lately he's been getting bullied really bad by this one girl in Slytherin named Merula Snyde. I reckon she was just being nasty because the winter holidays are coming up and all of her usual bullying targets will be going home soon, but she decided to go out of her way to corner Ben in the Courtyard today, yelling all sorts of rotten stuff at him at the top of her lungs and just refusing to let him walk away. Ben told Jae, Corey, and me afterwards a bit more of what was said, since I didn't hear all of it, but Merula said Ben didn't belong here at school with "real" wizards and called him a loser and a scaredy cat who didn't belong in Gryffindor because all he does is run away! She even called him a Mudblood, Mum! Multiple times! Fortunately right around the time Jae and I showed up, someone decided to put a stop to it. Her name's Carewyn Cromwell -- she's another Slytherin in my year, but a much nicer one than Merula. (She's Jacob Cromwell's sister, do you remember him? Bill said you and Dad read about him in the Prophet a while back, right after he disappeared.) Anyhow, Carewyn went right up to Merula and told her to leave Ben alone, and when Merula used the Knockback Jinx on Ben, Carewyn helped him up and then laid Merula out right good, saying that she was the real "loser," not Ben, and calling her a pathetic, mean-spirited bully. That really made Merula mad -- I've never seen her face so purple! So Merula tried to pick a fight with Carewyn, and Carewyn tried to just walk away with Ben, only for Merula to attack Carewyn from behind! She knocked her down face-first into the ground, with no warning! It was just dirty, Mum! But Carewyn, she was so cool, she just took some Wiggenweld Potion out of her sweater, drank enough to heal herself, and then chucked the bottle right at Merula's head like she was at the Dueling Club! (It missed, but it still gave Merula a good scare!) Then when Merula tried to attack her again, Carewyn dodged her spell and took her out with a single Disarming Charm! It was so cool! Oh, but here's what made me mad, Mum -- afterward, Professor Snape took FIFTY POINTS away from both Carewyn and Merula for "causing a scene" and said that he'd send them both along to Dumbledore for further punishment! Yeah! When it was OBVIOUSLY all Merula's doing and Carewyn was only defending herself and Ben! I checked on Ben afterward, and he looked close to tears. He's terrified that Carewyn's going to be expelled, all because she was trying to protect him. I told him no way Dumbledore would do that, but Snape was so furious, I wouldn't put it past him to lie through his ugly yellow teeth about the whole thing and get Carewyn expelled anyway! I know that's what he really wants -- everyone knows Snape hates Carewyn because of what her brother did, even though she honestly seems like a pretty cool person and a really good friend! Dumbledore won't be back until tomorrow, but I'm going to go up to his office as soon as he's back and tell him all about what happened -- there's no way he can expel Carewyn for what she did! She was brave and in the right, and she should've won points for standing up for Ben, instead of losing any! She would've, if she'd been in Gryffindor! It's not fair!! I'll write again after talking to Dumbledore...he'd better not listen to a word Snape says!! Love to you, Dad, and PFGRG -- Charlie
Fortunately Carewyn was not punished further, so Molly never had to send that additional letter to Dumbledore she'd been considering. She ended up revisiting this old letter of Charlie's again, though, when that following winter, Bill sent her another letter.
Dear Mum, The holidays are finally here! Hagrid brought in the Christmas tree yesterday, and now Flitwick is setting about trimming it with magical icicles. Still not as great as our tree at home, though -- I can't wait to get home and help you and Dad decorate it... Charlie and I are doing fine. Charlie's been kept busy with Quidditch practice; I would've thought with him only just having joined the team, the captain might take it a little easier on him -- you know, give him time to get settled and learn the ropes -- but I guess the Quidditch scene is really fast-paced. Charlie even said that they can't afford to coddle him too much, since Gryffindor's next match will be immediately after winter break. As for me, I'm keeping my grades up and earning house points as best I can. Madame Pince gave me ten points the other day for helping some first-years with their Transfiguration homework in the library, and later in the week, McGonagall gave me ten more for it herself! Do you remember Carewyn Cromwell? She's Jacob Cromwell's sister, and a Slytherin in Charlie's year. She came up to talk to me the other day on the Training Grounds and asked me for help with the Fire-Making Spell. She seems like a pretty nice girl! I'm really glad she seems okay after what happened to her brother, but I can tell she really misses him -- I kind of thought she'd have to, when I first heard about it, but I'm glad she doesn't seem to resent him at all. She says that she and Jacob were really close -- apparently it was only ever just them and their mum, since Carewyn's dad left when she was really little -- so I can't imagine Jacob would've left his family on purpose. I really hope Carewyn's able to find out what happened to him. And I hope at some point I'll get to introduce her to you and Dad too! Carewyn grew up largely in the Muggle World since her dad was a Muggle, so she knows a lot about Muggle stuff -- she was telling me about some of her favorite Muggle musicians the other day, and she suggested that you might like a Muggle named Barbra Streisand, since you like Celestina Warbeck. She also said that if Dad's interested in learning more about Muggles, she could put him in touch with her mum -- she's a Magical Historian, but she's also pretty good with Muggle history too. Oh yeah, I almost forgot -- Carewyn's mad good at dueling. I challenged her to a friendly one, just to help gauge her level and maybe give her some pointers, and she not only dodged all my spells, but took me out with a Disarming Charm so strong she knocked me right off my feet! Sure, maybe I was a little worried about going too hard on her, but I was NOT expecting that! It's a good thing that we get on -- I would not like to be on the wrong side of her! I love you all so much! Give Ron and Ginny extra big hugs for me. Charlie and I will touch base again before we set off for home next week. See you soon! Bill
Molly would soon read quite a few more letters from both Bill and Charlie that mentioned Carewyn (or "Carey," as they soon took to calling her). Once Charlie started his third year, he became closer friends with Carewyn through Quidditch friendlies, so he often brought Carewyn up whenever he wrote anything about Hogwarts's Quidditch Cup.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot -- Carey's hoping to go out for the Slytherin team! One of Slytherin's Chasers got knocked off her broom by Erika Rath during a not-so-friendly friendly match against Ravenclaw's team, and she's so bad-off she probably won't be healed in time for the match against Hufflepuff, so Carey reached out to Slytherin's Star Chaser Skye Parkin, and now Parkin's helping her train for an upcoming tryout! I don't think Carey's as excited about a Parkin training her as I would be, but she said she's grateful for her help. She said she prefers training with me and Andre, though, since we don't make her try to mount any jinxed brooms!!
Meanwhile Bill's letters would express much more concern for Carewyn's emotional well-being, not unlike how he wrote about Charlie.
The Slytherin VS Hufflepuff Quidditch match is set for Friday. I've been worried about Carey -- there's a rumor going around school that she had a meltdown after one of Slytherin's practices, which is very out of character for her. Carey's much more the type to try to put on a brave face and not let anyone see she's scared or hurting. Even so, Carey has been very quiet this entire week...even if she says she's fine, I can tell something's bothering her. I've been trying to walk with her in the halls more, to keep any more obnoxious Hufflepuffs off her back.
Charlie and Bill's letters' subject matter and tone overlapped in December 1986. When Carewyn's mother, Lane Cromwell, was forced to spend the winter holidays abroad away from her daughter, both Weasley boys were beside themselves.
Speaking of Carey, Mum, you won't believe this -- Carey's mum is stuck out of the country on this trip for the Ministry, doing research on house elf history, and now Carey's going to have to stay stuck at school for the holidays! She's trying to act like she's not upset about it, but I don't see how she can't be! Carey loves Christmas! She's been singing carols all season...
It's the most outrageous thing, Mum. I know the Ministry of Magic's assignment is important, and I know it's an important opportunity for Carey's mother...but Carey's family isn't big like ours. Carey told me as far back as she can remember, it was always just her, Jacob, and her mum, even before her dad left. With Jacob missing, her mum is all Carey has. I know they're close, and I know being apart from her mother is hard for her -- from what Rowan's told me, Carey's mum has so much difficulty being around people that Carey and Jacob used to stay at home with her rather than try to make any friends when they were kids, just to keep her company. To be apart from her mum during Christmas, of all times...I know it has to be just eating Carey up inside, Mum. Even Merula (who I still think is upset about spending the holidays alone) is doing better because I doubt she's expecting any kind of special gathering for Christmas. Knowing Carey, she's probably been silently looking forward to spending Christmas with her mother all year. And now she's left silently mourning the fact that she won't.
Molly herself even ended up expressing quite a bit of upset in her own letters back to Charlie and Bill --
What a poor, sweet girl! You're absolutely right, Charlie, she most certainly can't be okay, under such circumstances! You tell your brother to find a way to bring her on back here to the Burrow, if he can...
Bill -- bring Carewyn back to the Burrow with you. Your father and I want her here with us. Merula Snyde too, if you can -- the poor thing shouldn't have to spend a holiday alone either.
That Christmas ended up being when Molly and Arthur first met Carewyn, and they both liked her at once. Not only did Carewyn get on very well with Bill and Charlie, but she was a very polite guest who readily volunteered to help with chores and had a faint "Mama Bear" quality that could remind anyone a bit of Molly. Arthur couldn't help but tease his wife just a little about it. @department-shoe-stud
"Red hair, short stature, mothering...Molly dear, did we have another daughter and I just never noticed?"
Not that Molly would've minded. That Christmas pretty much solidified her thought process that Carewyn would make a perfect Weasley, if either Bill or Charlie ever decided to pursue her romantically. (They never did.)
One thing Bill conveniently neglected to tell Molly about was how Carewyn and he had become friends largely because they'd teamed up to deal with the Cursed Vaults. Bill did acknowledge the curses unleashed on the school by the Cursed Vaults now and again in his letters home, since he knew Charlie had already written to their parents about them beforehand, but he didn't tell Molly that Carewyn and he had broken the curses on the Ice, Fear, and Forest Vaults with help from some of Carewyn's other friends. And Bill's reasoning proved to be rather sound, because as it turned out, when Molly eventually found out the summer before his seventh year, she was not happy. It was just about the only time Bill's siblings could remember Molly ever having shouted at him.
"William...Arthur...Weasley...have you gone COMPLETELY 'round the bend?! Abusing your Prefect powers -- sneaking into forbidden areas of the school -- aggravating curses that the professors themselves have struggled to get a hold of -- and all while dragging both Carewyn and Charlie along after you, when they haven't even PASSED THEIR OWLS YET?! You are grounded for the rest of the summer for a START, William Weasley, AND IF YOU OR CAREWYN EVEN THINK OF GOING AFTER ANOTHER CURSED VAULT, I'LL GROUND YOU EVEN AFTER YOUR GRADUATION!"
Bill didn't listen to his mother. But in his defense, Carewyn was going to do anything if it meant saving her brother Jacob, and there was no way Bill was going to let her run into that kind of danger alone. And neither was Charlie, when he ended up in the position to help found the Circle of Khanna with Carewyn, Bill, Merula, and Ben to avenge the death of their fallen friend, Rowan Khanna.
Fortunately, after the Cursed Vaults were dealt with and R was defeated, Molly slowly cooled off about the whole affair. However displeased she was that her sons had engaged in something so dangerous, she was ultimately very proud of how brave they both had been. That doesn't mean Molly wasn't still a bit sad neither of them pursued Ministry work like Carewyn did. If nothing else, if Charlie was at the Ministry too, maybe he would have more of a chance to spend "alone time" with Carewyn and something more romantic could bloom! Or so Molly thought. This is why she was incredibly surprised when after the Second Wizarding War, Bill sent along this letter --
In other news, Carey has actually started dating! I'm surprised too. His name is Orion Amari -- I'm sure Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny have heard of him, since he's a Chaser for the Montrose Magpies, but he was Captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team in those two matches Carey played in, back at school. I don't remember him that well aside from that, but I followed up with some old friends from school who remember him and they've all spoken well of him. I also broached the topic with Carey, and even though she was understated as always, she really wants me to meet him. I think she really likes him a lot.
To say Molly wasn't disappointed to learn Carewyn would not be marrying Charlie would be untrue. When Molly met Orion herself at the after-party for his and Carewyn's partnership ceremony, however, she had to admit, Carewyn looked so very happy in Orion's company. And well, being the OG Mama Bear, that's all Molly Weasley could really want for Bill and Charlie's best friend.
She did add a very pointed little postscript to a letter she sent along to Carewyn's mother Lane in December, though.
P.S. Thank you for the advice about Muggle dragon books. I may be eternally disappointed that Charlie never took the plunge with your dear Carewyn, but Arthur and I still want to get him a birthday gift nobody else would think of getting him.

Darcy, Callie and Arvel Weasley
My babies, my childrens💕
Charlie and Male were ready to become parents, what they were not ready was having a pair of hyperactive twins and a boy craving for knowledge.
Wait they were expecting from children with the energy of a Weasley and the curiosity of a Liddell?

MC: That’s my way of doing things. When life gives me pain, I take that pain and push it down. And if that pain starts to come up again, I push more pain down on top of it. Why confront something when you can avoid it, right?

Someone pointed out that if MC didn’t drink the tea laced with veritaserum ahead of the trial then when Jacob talks about their mum being scary when she’s mad they say something like “she isn’t that bad” but if they did drink it they say something along the lines of “she really is terrifying isn’t she?” which is kinda weird, what do you think it means? I mean it probably does mean something if they wrote different lines for it under different circumstances
Okay, I did not notice that at all, which I totally should have, because I've been very interested in #Jacob'sMother for some time now. She's the only parent MC has, or even the only family at all (apart from Jacob) to get any development even if we've never seen her in person.
And well, I hate to say it, but honestly? This really only further supports an idea about her that I already had. That she is, to put it lightly, an imperfect parent...and MC is in denial about this, or otherwise unwilling to admit it.
Every Christmas, she leaves them alone and goes off to see some other unknown family in America. Every. Single. Year. This is despite the fact that Jacob is missing for most of the story and MC is her last child.
She seems to shamelessly favor Jacob. It's implied that her depression after he disappeared prevented her from looking after MC. It's outright stated that she gave them her blessing to continue the dangerous and life-threatening investigation of the Cursed Vaults, simply because it might lead to finding him.
This is in spite how how she was supposed to be very strict, how she wouldn't let MC anywhere near a broomstick. In fact, every story we hear MC and Jacob recount about her suggests that she has quite a temper.
Maybe I'm reading too much into this. Maybe this is nothing more than MC employing harmless courtesies. Hell, maybe it's supposed to be played for laughs - I could see Percy, for instance, saying the exact same things with and without veritaserum about Molly. But MC's mother is much more of an enigma. We've never seen her, but everything we've heard indicates that there is some kind of unspoken awkwardness in their relationship, that it's become strained over the years. Not for nothing, but I'd just like to point out that Jacob asked MC not to tell their mother that he had been found. And MC just went along with that. I don't know what that says about her, but that says something. Jacob probably understood her better during his Hogwarts days than MC did, he was older and had the perspective of seeing how she treated them versus him. But now MC is older and has the perspective of those memories recontextualized.
I'm not saying MC's mother is secretly abusive or anything. That would be an absolute worse case scenario, and it's likely more complex than that. But based on everything we've heard, I don't think she's a good person....y'know, this is very likely my own personal issues bleeding through here, but am I the only one who gets total alcoholic vibes from Jacob's Mother?

A beautiful summer morning at the Lowell house.
Sabine's father Martinius pours himself a cup of coffee.
He sees Sabine and his wife Elaina at the table.
He looks at Elaina.
Martinius's thoughts: Elaina, my once and only queen. The ideal woman. Beauty, brains, and brawn. How someone as magnificent as you fell in love with a curmudgeon like me I will never know. I wish to stare longer but your radiance would blind me.
Martinis looks at Sabine.
Martinius's thoughts: Sabine, my precious princess. Just like your mother. You showed me that my fears of having a daughter were unfounded. You might be outside of what constitutes normal in this world, but you have proven that you have the strength and grace to navigate any and all hardships life may throw your way. I thought I could never be prouder of you but you prove me wrong with each and every achievement.
Martinis looks at a picture of Jacob.
Martinis's thoughts: And Jacob... my son.
Martinius sips his coffee.
Martinis's thoughts: He had good penmanship. Very important for business.
