TurboTax Live Full Service vs. H&R Block
Tumblr media
TurboTax vs. H&R Block is a big battle in the for-profit tax preparation field. Each has its distinct strengths and drawbacks, so it's worth investigating which option is best for you.
TurboTax vs. H&R Block: Which is Better?
The right tax software for you varies depending on your preferences. If you're looking for the most time-tested and simple do-it-yourself option -- and don't mind paying a little more -- TurboTax might be the right choice. However, tax filers who prefer less expensive software or personalized assistance should consider H&R Block.
Whichever option you choose, don't put it off; the longer you wait, the greater the chance for mistakes and stress.
About TurboTax
TurboTax offers plenty of tax preparation options, covering different filing situations and varying levels of tax expert support. This platform primarily has a do-it-yourself (DIY) route that asks straightforward questions to determine which tax forms you need and how to fill them out.
However, among DIY tax software, TurboTax is quite expensive and constantly tries to upsell products while you fill out paperwork. Other platforms are generally less expensive and some, like Cash App Tax, are free.
About H&R Block
H&R Block has do-it-yourself software and is known for its physical branches. It has thousands of offices across the U.S. so you can easily get started or upgrade for in-person assistance if needed.
TurboTax vs. H&R Block: Key Features
Both tax preparation giants offer online and downloadable software, a full-service option, expert human support, and several guarantees including accurate calculations, maximum refunds, and audit assistance. Both also have time-saving features that allow you to snap a photo of your W-2 instead of manually entering numbers line-by-line.
TurboTax Key Features
Simple questionnaire. TurboTax asks you a series of questions about your income and life events so you can fill out the correct tax form.
Donation calculator and tracker. You can enter your donations into TurboTax so you can figure out their value and record them during the year.
In-person option. If you want one-on-one help, you can find a “TurboTax Verified Pro” through the platform and meet with them in person. Availability and pricing may vary.
H&R Block Key Features
Transparent pricing. H&R Block has a no-surprise guarantee: If you pay more than the originally quoted price, you'll get a 20% discount on your next year's filing.
Personal assistance. With branches in every state, you can meet with a tax face-to-face.
Tax Review Double Check. You can have H&R Block look at your last three years of tax returns to confirm you haven't missed out on a big tax refund.
AI Tax Assist. H&R Block has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) to serve as a resource and it's included in all online versions at no additional cost.
TurboTax vs. H&R Block: Usability
Both companies give you the option to automatically fill in some of your information by uploading photos of your income tax forms. And, while Users can use a computer, both offer highly-rated mobile apps for iOS and Android to make their lives simpler.
Still, TurboTax shines with an easy-to-use platform. You'll get a series of jargon-free questions that make the process feel more like sitting down with a tax preparer.
H&R Block's setup isn't questionnaire-style. Instead, you'll get a series of forms to fill out. But, like TurboTax, the platform provides explanations and tips for a streamlined process.
TurboTax vs. H&R Block: Customer Service
It's natural to encounter questions when filing your taxes or helping someone else file taxes. Both platforms also offer expert assistance to help you navigate the process, although you'll likely have to pay more.
The exception is TurboTax Live Assisted Basic Edition, which features free live support for those filing simple returns. Plus, if you add the Live Assisted service (pricing for which starts at $99), you can get in touch via live chat, seven days a week.
With H&R Block, you'll have more options for personalized assistance due to a larger network of stores. Although hours vary, you can generally expect these retail locations to be open during regular business hours and possibly a little late for the convenience of tax filers after work.
Neither company has a great Trustpilot rating; both earned 1.2 out of 5 stars.
H&R Block vs. TurboTax: Comparing Free Options
TurboTax's Deluxe option is a more comprehensive option for the average filer, but let's briefly consider the free options again.
Both H&R Block and TurboTax offer free options for filers with simple returns. You can often use those options if you don't own a home, you have no investment income other than ordinary dividends or interest and you don't have rental property or business expenses.
You can't use any of the forms if you itemize deductions. However, there are some deductions available with the free plans. Specifically, you can claim the EIC and the Additional Child Tax Credit. H&R Block also includes Schedules 1 through 6, unlike TurboTax.
So if your finances are simple, the biggest consideration is which forms you need to file, since H&R Block includes more forms and schedules with its free plan.
Which Online Tax Software is Right for You?
Start by thinking about what you want from tax prep software. If you're hoping for a jargon-free experience, TurboTax may be right for filers with a simple tax situation. If you're looking for personalized help or appreciate transparent pricing, H&R Block may be the right choice for you.
Of course, other tax services may be a good fit for you. Aside from the free government programs listed earlier, you can go for lower-cost software if you don't mind a clunky user interface and fewer support options.

Uh oh. Looks like it's time to get out the "You're fired loser" stick and chase Sandra off the premises with it. Sorry/not sorry Sandra.
"Dear Head of Human Resources,
I trust this message finds you well amidst our office's newly established debating chamber. I'm reaching out to highlight the daily political rallies, courtesy of Sandra, right beside my desk. Her fervent immigration debates, broadcasted via megaphone, have turned our workspace into a live-action forum. Despite her belief, Mohammed was hired for his superior aptitude, not to irk her. However, Sandra's incessant tirades, often directed at Mohammed, have become his unsolicited welcoming committee.
Sandra’s dedication to fostering political discussions during work hours is indeed a sight to behold. Her assertion that our modest requests for a quieter workspace are affronts to her freedom of speech is an irony lost on none. The audacity of us, indeed!
I’m keen on discussing how we might navigate this impassioned new dimension of our work environment at your earliest convenience. Your guidance on how to handle the relentless political discourse, especially when it's impacting those in senior positions who were hired for their competence, not their political stances, would be much appreciated.
Looking forward to your sage advice on this matter.
Warmest regards..."

People First 2021
Tumblr media
A new compilation of 2020 ADP research has concluded what we here at Converge have been saying since the beginning: put your people first. The pandemic has reminded companies to focus on the well-being of their employees, and the ongoing social justice movements have only intensified the importance of a work environment. But these are not the only major factors leading to this conclusion...
Flexibility:
Workplace flexibility is expected to remain a top concern for 2021. 44% of employers now offer flexible working policies (almost double the number pre-COVID).  An October ADP Research Institute Study found that 65% of workers felt positive about the future flexibility of their organization. Further, employers are that are looking for  guidance on flexible work, and pay options have grown over 116% this year.
Workflow Systems:
Workflow was yet another area that saw major changes this year. Many companies had to adapt completely new workflows as they shifted to remote work. Other companies, were able to accelerate systems they already had in place to allow for this flexibility. The takeaway found across companies is that whatever system you choose to use, you need to ensure it empowers and supports your employees.
Resilience:
An ADP survey (of companies with 1,000 or more employees) reported that 39% of worker’s fear’s about health are a top concern. Workers on the other hand have actually become more resilient due to all the change. Employees who saw at least five major changes during the pandemic were 13.2 times more likely to be highly resilient. Those employees who trusted their leader’s ability to anticipate and communicate in the future felt psychologically safer, and therefore, better able to adapt and overcome change.
HR
HR has taken an even more strategic role. Company leaders are now more than ever before turning to their HR department. As the need to quickly and efficiently introduce changes into the workplace, and communicate it clearly, HR has become the natural leader. HR has also been the one to help companies either metaphorically, or physically, re-write their handbooks and internal policies this year. Read more on the transformation of HR here.
In conclusion, there are more reasons than ever before to put people first. As the only constant is change itself; build your people, so that your company can continue not only to handle but grow from all the challenges it will face.

Operasyonel İK konusunda tam not alırken Stratejik İK kısmına geçer not alıyor hatta bazı şirketlerde sınıfı bile geçemiyoruz. Kurumsal firmalar İK mesleğine olan katma değeri arttırırken tüm şirketlerin de aynı bakış açısını kazanmasını istiyoruz. Eskiden destek departman olarak görülen Personel İşleri, şimdilerde üst yönetimin, karar verici mekanizmaların stratejik partnerliğini üstlenir durumda. Dijital dünyadaki gelişmeler, hızlı değişen iş dünyası, ortaya çıkan yeni sektörler, meslek alanları ile kurumların bu bilgileri kullanma hızı artarken iş gücü yönetimi de her geçen gün daha önem kazanır durumda. İş yapış biçimleri değişirken yeni görev & yetkinlik tanımları ve düzenlemeleri gereği doğuyor. Çalışanların ve kurumların gerekliliklerini yerine getirecek uygulamaları tasarlayıp, ileriyi görerek proaktif davranışlar sergilemeyi gerektiren bir bütünü de içine alan partner departmandır İK! 🔎Peki İK ne iş yapar? Bu sorunun cevabı bir sonraki paylaşımda! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Seriously thinking about a blog now...
"Inspirational Leadership": Making It Up As You Go Along
So you want to be an "inspirational leader." If people like Elon Musk can trick a bunch of engineers into building electric cars, maybe you're setting your sights too low. Aim for the moon, even if you're not sure what's up there!
Here's how:
1. Spew Nonsense: They Won't Notice
Let's face it, most leadership jargon is word salad. Toss around buzzwords like "disruptive innovation" and "exponential thinking," and people will assume you've read every Harvard Business Review article ever written. Here's the trick: cobble together actual words into nonsense phrases and you're golden. People will eat up concepts like an "empathy circle," but don't cross the line into gibberish like "Floofle Hupper." Nobody knows why it works rhis way. Just roll with it.
2. Aim High. Bit higher. Higher. There you go: Skip the Mailroom, Go for CEO
It's a well known fact that outrageously incompetent people can easily attain the highest possible positions (just ask anyone in Britain or the Unites States about electoral history. Only don't use that phrase in the UK as we have had some aeriously awful Education Secretaries). Perhaps your previous failures were also steps toward something grand. Failed to secure that mailroom internship? Maybe your next application should be for a juicy CEO role."
3. Inclusive Plagiarism
Why shoulder the burden of decision-making when your team can do it for you? Ask for their input, nod knowingly, and then regurgitate their ideas as your own groundbreaking strategy. You’re not stealing; you’re "leveraging collective intelligence."
4. The Vision Thing: Embrace Vague Grandiosity
Forget SMART goals; they're for the uninspired. Talk about "transformative kindness" or "revolutionary sincerity" instead. Your team will then, of course, work 60-hour weeks to decode your cryptic visions into actual, workable plans.
5. The Art of Confusion: When in Doubt, Baffle
Nervous that your staff might catch on to your charade? Reject their perfectly adequate reports with confounding comments like "Needs more zeitgeist" or "Lacking in quantum synergy." Then, ask them what they think could have been improved as if generously allowing them to fix their own mistakes. When they stumble upon an answer, scribble it down and proclaim it as the next big thing—see step 3.
There you have it: your foolproof guide to being an "inspirational leader." The great thing is, it's all so abstract and absurd that no one will notice you're making it all up. And even if they do, by that time you'll have failed upward into a position where you're too important to question.
