En este blog, te ofreceré una introducción a HTML, cubriendo los conceptos básicos, cómo empezar a escribir código HTML y algunos consejos para seguir aprendiendo.

1. ¿Qué es HTML?

HTML es un lenguaje de marcado utilizado para crear la estructura de las páginas web. A diferencia de los lenguajes de programación tradicionales, HTML no se utiliza para realizar cálculos o lógica, sino para definir el contenido y la organización de una página web.

a) Características Principales de HTML:

Lenguaje de Marcado: HTML utiliza "etiquetas" (tags) para definir elementos dentro de una página web.

<title>: Define el título que se mostrará en la pestaña del navegador.

3. Etiquetas Comunes en HTML

HTML tiene una gran variedad de etiquetas que se utilizan para diferentes propósitos. Aquí te presento algunas de las más comunes:

a) Etiquetas de Texto:

<h1> a <h6>: Etiquetas de encabezado que definen títulos de diferentes niveles.

b) Etiquetas de Imágenes y Listas:

Blobmaster I am going to HELP YOU.

Fun fact! You don't need to know how to code SHIT in order to change the font size on AO3. But, you are going to have to look at the HDML. Aka, inspect element.

Reloading the page will reset everything, so going to the next chapter will turn the font size back. I recommend viewing the work in its entirety and then make the edit.

This tutorial is for computer/laptop (I'll do mobile next)

Left click, select Inspect(Q) or Inspect element

MAKE SURE YOU ARE CLICKING ON THE TEXT OF THE FIC ITSELF!!! When you press inspect, it will automatically jump to the HTML code for that section. Since you want to edit the fic, you need to click on the text of the fic. Not the author notes, not the summary, not the white background. The text of the fic. Your mouse should be a cursor when you do it

It should look like this. If it does not, you didn't click the actual text of the fic. Close out of the inspector and try again.

Now, lets take a closer look at that highlighted part. What we want is in there

About right in the middle is a value that says font size. By default, that value is 100%. Click on that 100%.

it's blue now! Now, you can make the text as big or small as you want. It accepts any number plus a percent sign. Over 100 makes it bigger, under 100 makes it smaller.

Personally, I think 110% is perfect. Click enter to implement the change. Click the X in the right hand corner of the inspector to close the inspector.

For some reason, this affects everything on the website. Again, this will go away whenever the page reloads. A plug-in could do this for you automatically, but doing this vs making a plug-in in much easier.

Congratulations. You just did code! Yes, it is that simple. Yes, I do have an Ao3 extension that adds a kudos/hit ratio. You can find it here.

Yes, I did use my own fanfic in this example. Everyone should read it.

I really wish I knew how to program. even just a little bit, so I'd know where to start.

I've been searching for and trying out a lot of extensions for Firefox, Android that lets the user pick font sizing that's site specific, and to no avail.

I mostly read fics on my phone and I set my browser font to about 140, because I am blind. but I have found that a lot of sites don't properly function with the accessibility override so I have to adjust the font size constantly.

If there was an extension that let me just size up the font on AO3 where I mainly need it, it would be incredible.

I would make one myself but I don't know anything about how to go about that
