This little home in Edo filled to the brim with books and learning and instruments of healing with its light left burning in the window every time she lingered too long with her playmates as a girl has always been her guiding star. No matter how far she traveled, her heart always oriented itself back here. To this place. And although it was no longer as big as it seemed to be when she was a child, it was still plenty for its purpose. Especially this space with it’s soaking tub and it’s shelf and bench and room enough to both cleanse oneself and enjoy the luxury of a bath.

And yet despite how spacious it may be, it seems much more cramped with two bodies within it. Even if one of them is seeking to make himself as small as possible in the furthest corner away from her.
