bestie who i previously convinced to watch thor colon the dark world has now seen thor brackets twenty-eleven close brackets as well. she reckons it is an odd, confusing film, where the sum of its parts is a bit disappointing but also how did all those parts end up together in the first place. there's a good film in there! but there are also a couple of bad/mediocre films in there.

ok so today i had my first thai class after a really long christmas break and somehow andreas gabalier (an austrian folk singer) and his music came up. and i don't remember what exactly my teacher said but he made a comment along the lines of "andreas gabalier is considered a standard good looking dude here in austria, right?" (my teacher is from thailand, so he wasn't sure about austrian people's preferences)
and his question was met with complete silence, because the thing is... our class consists of 3 middle aged guys plus one more guy in his early 30s. and then there's me. the only girl
and since no one answered the question about andreas gabalier's looks, our teacher then addressed me directly and following conversation ensued:
teacher: "[airenyah]?"
me: (feeling slightly shy and embarrassed) ".....i don't know what andreas gabalier looks like 🙈"
everyone: (breaks out in laughter)
middle-aged classmate: (highly amused) "i suspect he's not your type..." (me: "oh 🙈") "you're not missing out on anything :D"
i really like my teacher but god, let me live. don't put me on the spot like that 😩😩😩

[Me talking about Ozy with love: Sometimes he gets the dokis for you pretty quick by his standards (like Smol’s A.rash but they’re special) and sometimes it takes like 50 years for him to feel a doki and only after bonding with you / being more open ™ and you being more open ™. There is no in-between.]

Difficult Person Test
Goro is a very difficult person to get along with (77.86%).
Callousness is characterized by lacking empathy or concern for others. People high in callousness typically have deficits in genuine social sentiments and are often experienced by others as coarsely uncivil. In other words, they often make people feel uncomfortable.
Aggressiveness is the tendency to behave rudely and with hostility toward others. Aggressiveness may be doubly hurtful to others if combined with callousness, since the aggressive person may thus be both intimidating and unfeeling in their demeanor.
Suspicion is the tendency to harbor a strong and unreasoning distrust of others. Suspicious people often question the motives of even those who act loyally and devotedly toward them. Such people are often reluctant to open up to others and may interpret kind-hearted gestures as attempts to deceive them.
Manipulativeness is the inclination to exploit others to derive benefits for oneself. Manipulative people take other people for granted and use them to realize their own wishes and goals, thinking little of interpersonal reciprocity or the rights of others. Such people often exhaust and frustrate those around them, since they give little in return for the services and favors they extract from others.

This is a super minor thing…
… But tbh, the way Eliot describes his father to Hardison… Kinda makes me think of Nate? He says the store looked like a mess, but that his dad knew exactly where everything was, which kinda makes me think of Nate and his complicated plans and obsessive tics. The way he talks gives me the impression the guy was pretty gruff and reticent himself, which also kinda lines up w/ Nate.
But one of the big differences between them is that his father wanted him to take over the store, and I don’t think Nate ever expects Eliot to take over as mastermind.
Nate and Eliot absolutely become very close and there is absolutely a different tone to their relationship than there is w/ Hardison and Parker. Behind Sophie, I think Eliot is Nate’s closest confidant, and definitely a surrogate father figure and not just bc of the similarities I get the impression he has w/ Eliot’s… Non surrogate father. Eliot’s the lieutenant, the left hand, the enforcer, the bodyguard—but he’s never the heir, and I think that’s bc he never wants to be.
Eliot and Nate have a very good sense of each other, and I think that despite their closeness and the type of relationship they have, Nate knows immediately that Eliot has no interest in taking over as leader and Eliot knows he knows that. Eliot never vies to run point like Hardison does, isn’t as inquisitive about everything else as Parker is. He’s comfortable where he is, as the lieutenant, contributing exactly when and how he needs to, stepping in whenever it’s required and keeping things running. He has no interest in taking command, and that’s why (I think) it’s quite clear Nate never even considers him. Bc he knows Eliot well enough to know that.

I think it's very interesting how Zhivago tells Ban that humans are not to be trusted and Ban, effectively, ends up not trusting another human for... Well, for decades. He trusted Zhivago, but Zhivago was not human. He trusted Elaine, but she wasn't human. He trusted Meliodas, but Meliodas wasn't human. I am genuinely not sure of the degree of trust he had in the other sins but it is an actual possibility that Elizabeth is the first human he actually manages to trust, and that's.... Well that's a bit sad kind of? That he never managed to find a trustworthy human in all these years? Like. Zhivago said humans couldn't be trusted, and in the end he was pretty much right. Bittersweet I guess...
Edit (also spoilers I guess!! Beware !!) : wait shit I forgot she wasn't actually human either in the end!! That's worse hahaha plus I have no idea if he actually trusts her. It's clear that he likes her at least a little bit but idk about trust.....
