I finished book 2 yesterday and while I have some thoughts about it, they are not grown up yet, baby thoughts if you will. So bare with me.
I definitely have feelings about how not everything just works in the end. It's kind of messy. And I mean that in a good way.
We don't suddenly learn that Xie Lian was totally justified in killing the king. Qi Rong isn't the way he is toxic league player just because. There are reasons for everything that are so incredibly human, that it's messy and grey instead of clean black and white. And especially considering that I read TGCF expecting mostly romance it's really refreshing to read something that feels so close and real. Sometimes there are good intentions followed by bad results. Sometimes characters are just in shitty situations without perfect solutions and it's hard on them.
And especially Xie Lian struggles with accepting it, wants the second cup of water so to speak (circling back to the story his teacher told him), but sometimes, most of the time it's just not available. And it's tragic and the fact that he is trying to reach for it anyway makes me feel feelings.

Eon usually finds himself injured in some capacity, so much so that any healer or person with any ounce of medical knowhow wonders how he's able to stay standing. Honestly Eon doesn't know the answer to that one himself, the best way he can describe it is his body just moving on its own despite the pain.

A Local Treasure (Their Sword And Shield And Most Precious Jewel, All In One)
Izuku never really meant to get into fights, or to get a name for himself in his neighbourhood, or to get pseudo-adopted by the local police precinct.
He was only trying to protect the nice lady from next door, or save a cat from a tree, or help an old lady with her shopping, or stop those men from being mean.
But then he catches Eraserhead's notice too. As it turns out, it's just one more person who ends up adoring him for all that he is.
~~~
Shouta is tired and fed up and exhausted. Yes, he's fully aware that those are all technically synonyms, but using them all right now feels appropriate.
Izu-kun is tiny. Cute, tiny, and he really is fucking vicious.
Not only is the kid small, but he's scrawny, all elbows and freckles and bony wrists, plasters on his face to cover up some of the freckles, the knuckles on his left hand raw. His damn hoodie says 'Hero' on it, bright yellow in a shade that almost perfectly matches his own goggles, and he's panting, grinning, blood smeared on the toe of his shoes.
Let’s make one thing clear! Riz would have killed kalvaxus whether that was his dad’s murderer or not. He was working on the case, not because of his tragic backstory, but because he noticed his babysitter went missing, then noticed a bunch of other girls had also gone missing. He was already working the case to start out with because he realized something was up and worked on the case no one else seemed to be paying attention to or caring about. He wanted to figure out the mystery to help those girls.
Riz doesn’t get good adventures because he’s tragic, he gets good adventures because he’s smart and can find connections where no one else can. Because he refuses to give up when he finds a mystery. (to the point where he has a mystery tattooed all over his body)
I know this AU has since died down, but recently it's really been helping me look on the bright, fun side of college, so I decided to draw @spectacledraws's (go check her out!!!) Deltarune college au as if it were a fake manga (heavily inspired by the Yotsuba comics)!
For those curious what the title means (which I hope I didn't royally mess up the Japanese on):
別の伝説 (betsu no densetsu) - Another Legend
DELTARUNEの二次創作 (Deltarune no nijisousaku) - A DELTARUNE side-story
Prompt 74
When a new black-haired blue-eyed person appeared in the manor, one could easily be forgiven for thinking that Bruce’s adoption problem had struck again. So color many a batkid surprised that no, this kid isn’t a new sibling, no he didn’t get grabbed from the street, and actually he’s here for Alfred.
Apparently Alfred never found it important to mentioned that he has a husband- that the kid kind of implies isn’t human what with the casual way he says he himself is half human- and that this kid is apparently their child. For once it’s Bruce’s turn to come home to a surprise sibling.
Danny on the other hand just learned that his Clockpa has a semi-mortal partner who has offered to take him in, (in another dimension even! And there’s aliens!!) while the ancient takes care of some stuff at home.
And yeah it’s in a rich-manor but Sam has proved that not all rich people are evil, and based off of Mr Pennyworth’s stories the Waynes weren’t bad either. Though based off of the others’ reactions perhaps he should wait to mention that there wasn’t one new family member but three…
