One of my favourite crossover ideas:
Everything stays the same, except that 1 important rule/power system from another fandom is swapped in or replaces 1 main rule of the original.
Some examples are,
M!Ik x UU's power system
(Or any fandom x UU's power system really)
MLB x MHA quirk society
Any fandom x Ib's roses
Undertale x Jojo stands
Disney characters x Vocaloids
It's fun to see how imaginary worlds function when different rules are applied.

In regards to a potential alternate homestuck with actual plans for June from page 1: Would it make sense for her emotional conflict to centre on her contradictory admiration of her father and her desire for a more feminine appearance? I had some thoughts
Like she's taught the ways of "fine manly grooming" and being an "emotional rock for the women in your life" and genuinely aspires to embody those suburbian values at the same time as (let's write over a bit of homestuck) hyperfocusing on hit 1994 movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and being unable to get Bernadette off her mind. You can even play off her discomfort with that one feminine Convict in Con Air.
You get a bunch of movie references homestuck style and parallels to Gamzee's veneration of the ICP clowns with the clownlike drag queens and emotional revelations stemming from communication with the opposite species. (Let's say in this alternate homestuck Trolls have no sexual dimorphism except for girls on average being stronger - June aspires to Dad's strength so gender crisis)
A few other details change such as June's dream self being gender ambiguous and her discovering wind powers results in her ability to change the desired shape of her body though she doesn't do this immediately. Her arc in total would be about letting go and allowing herself to in(heir)it the fluidity(wind) that she already has.
Most importantly her god tier death is not the point of transition - it comes before and after during experimentation with the wind powers, discussions with friends and the discovery of what she actually wants deep down. It can also spur on interesting interactions with other characters.
Rose tries to use outdated Freudian psychoanalysis which fails, starting her move away from the need to break everything down into black and white systems. Dave's bro becoming not his bro helps his reflection on the heroic image that he rejects. Jade's friend suddenly changing in an extremely unforeseen way that shakes up their dynamic after years of being able to predict everyone’s moves scares her.
Even Moreso - Jane's feelings of being trodden over and ignored get worse when someone who acts similar and is more cosmically important arrives. HEC's whole drag queen look can get tied into the Egbert/Peixes family relationship. You can even do a metacommentary on how drag queen/adjacent culture is a related ancestor to online trans areas (2010's period piece, of course).
And most importantly the resolution with the two warring desires within her (Be like Dad and transitioning) is related to the Classpect. You don't have to choose - womanhood is not a stereotype you need to tick boxes to affirm as if you’re one of the suburban housewives that June grew up around. You can wear power suits and cologne and be a woman.
I think this works? It's still John just the arc is about learning that the simple childhood that they yearn for (spelled out in Sunsetter (Ska)) is both gone and was never real in the first place and that they must inherit the fluidity of life to truly grow. That fits with homestuck - kids with problems preventing them from growing up learning about their pasts, identity and potential and maybe maturing and growing older.
But yeah, I would like your thoughts and opinions on it as a certified hater; It's fun to see how much better you can do than those schmucks over at HS2 that really screwed the pig.
I wonder how would the Drag Queen culture would fit for the Peixes because the theme of Homestuck was that it's women who are put in high positions, knowledge over a lot of things, and control over anything. This extends to even characters like the Black Queen aka Snowman, Vriska, Aradia (after death), Rose, Jade Harley, White Queen, and of course, Meenah. They are all cis women that gained those positions by not only through work but by birth alone or being in position roles that allow them to have certain information no other characters couold have (the troll girls with blood color, Snowman/Black Queen still working even after Derse as destroyed with her death being the major factor that it can destroy the universe, Jade being raised by Prospitians, and Rose being into psychoanalysis and the smart girl in the friend group). I kind of think having the Peixes/Egbert(John/June/Jane) be Drag Queens would kind of break the theme. If not for feminist sake, then it raises the question of why couldn't girls like Rose or Jade have that role that June Egbert would be in since they are also important characters. Vriska also being a natural born female if the Peixes are drags. Fuchsiablood trolls so far is only known to birth women. How would it work if someone like Meenah or Feferi was born male? Would it also be fine about the implications that go with it? Like Meenah drag queen still being the one who BULLIED Damara into going crazy and the catalyst for the rise and continued appearance of Lord English. Or same Drag Queen The Condesce is also the one that set up the classist and hemospectrum system that would also put mutantbloods like Karkat on target for culling. Sure Karkat doesn't mind as he would still dream to become part of the high ranks if it means he can be an exception, but would others be fine knowing something that is considered part of LGBT culture be fine that figure would be the one that makes Alternia the living hell that is? Same Condesce would also soon learn to take over the Alpha session. It would give people like Roxy and Dirk, the kids who are living under the Condesce's reign and trying to survive against her, a reason to dislike drag queens and possibly LGBT if they have to fight for their own lives. Dirk being seen in the fandom as the actual gay person, would that mean his relationship with Jane be different then? What about Jake? If upon dying and becoming god tier can let the user change to their own desired image, it brings question then with the Doomed Timelines that has similar situations of characters becoming better. Nobody is allowed to improve and the set canon is the only true one. Themes of breaking fate and cycle is also another theme that goes with Homestuck. How would one play up Breath's theme of supposed freedom play more into this with John/June or people like Tavros and Rufioh?

Microsoft XBOX 360 - Sonic World Adventure (Sonic Unleashed)
Title: Sonic World Adventure / ソニック ワールドアドベンチャー
Developer/Publisher: Sega (Sonic Team)
Release date: 19 February 2009
Catalogue No.: HEC-00002
Genre: 3D Action Adventure
Tumblr media
Sega's Sonic team development division, learning from Sonic 06's mistakes, made the XBOX 360 perform some pretty impressive tasks in their demos, some of which were used in their games. Sonic Unleashed is one of those games (the other one being 2019's Shin Sakura Taisen, a visual novel for the PS4). The game marks the first-ever time a Sonic game debuted with a rendering system dubbed by Sonic Team as the "Hedgehog Engine", designed specifically to handle the drawing of 3D geometry and environments in a fast-paced setting. (The game still uses CRI Middleware and Havok technologies in some parts).
As a result, compared to the likes of Sonic 2006, Sonic Unleashed is capable of producing CGI film quality graphics very similar to those from the best Disney/Pixar animated film properties. Yoshihisa Hashimoto who was the Director of this game at the time, spent months analyzing video games, CGI films, and even people and places in real life. He came to the conclusion that current-generation games are missing an element known in the computer animation field as Global Illumination.
This allows for a light source to hit a scene, and light is reflected off every object in the environment. To cover the vast amounts of calculations that needed to be processed, they also came up with a system that connected 100 computers for the team to distribute the workload. This enabled them to complete all the lighting calculations for an action stage (which is about 6-8 miles long) in 2 or 3 days.
Hashimoto's team also developed a technology called Light Field, which blended the characters naturally into the environments. With this technology, Sonic can run through an action stage while the light is being reflected off him naturally as if he “belongs” there (in contrast to past games where Sonic looks out of place in several environments). As a result, Sonic Unleashed manages to stand out from the rest of the platformers of its age in that rather than lowering the quality down to PS2 levels (as was the case with some early PS3 and 360 games around 2005-2007), the game uses pseudo-raytracing, coupled with the introduction of the then-novel Boost gameplay mechanic and a custom control scheme dedicated to the Werehog/Night levels, as well as a seamless day/night cycle to provide fast and smooth looking 3D environments.
Coupled together with the XBOX 360's great sprite and polygon capabilities for enemies and explosions and polygon-built ships (mainly those from Dr. Eggman), along with the PS1-quality ease of development that made the XBOX 360 the king in the eyes of general gamers, makes Sonic Unleashed look like quite a feast for the ears, as well as the eyes.
So how does it play? Well, I'm not too sure if it went down well in Malaysia but judging by how hard it is to find a copy, I'd say it wasn't well received (in my area). Most households in Malaysia probably only owned a PS2 back in the day, so the PS2 version of Unleashed is much more common. Globally though, and on the Sonic circles, I remember Sonic Unleashed being showered with praise the world over, with high critic scores and glowing fan and user reviews. This could be because Sonic Unleashed fixed the flawed controls that plagued '06 and turned the franchise's reputation from being stained into a great sendoff for the future, with great gameplay, a killer story, and an AWESOME mix of orchestral, rock, and miscellaneous soundtrack genres as you played all the way from Apotos (based on Mykonos, Greece) to Eggmanland (based on Luna Park Sydney).
There is a lot to blast and search for as well as getting yourself lost quite often in the Open World Hubs (^o^;) Oh and about the gameplay, the Daytime stages are some of the BEST that you'll ever see in terms of graphical fidelity (only bested by Frontiers, Shadow Generations, and the upcoming Crossworlds), and the Werehog stages, it's debatable, but it is pretty good to me. It's not 100% perfect though - there are some minor flaws such as very weird frame-rate issues, and falling down easily when using your ring energy, the Werehog levels can be very long but not as bad as other worse beat-em-ups on the 360 such as TMNT Turtles in Time Re-Shelled and Golden Axe Beast Rider. I wanted to call it "God of War inspired" but that would be me pulling the Sony fanboy card. Let's just say the combat reminded me of either Spike Out, Streets of Rage, or even Batman Returns on the Super Famicom, maybe a touch of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City (though these are later games). You need to replay levels to get the medals which become harder to find.
Bottom line, if you're into the odd type of action platformer with a killer story, then I think Sonic Unleashed will suit you. This game is compatible with XBOX ONE and XBOX SERIES consoles, and if you play it on an XBOX SERIES S or X, you get the added bonus of 60 FPS boost mode which is really awesome.

In the context of a turbulent and unsatisfying three years in office, the incredibly awful September in progress might rank as the three-party German government’s grimmest month yet. After elections in the east that issued record results for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party—another vote, in Brandenburg, looms on Sept. 22—the government is also reeling from the fallout of two Islamist terrorist attacks that left three dead and eight wounded. One of those attacks involved a Syrian asylum-seeker whose petition for protection in Germany had been denied; he had links to the fundamentalist Islamic State, which claimed responsibility for the attack.
Now the government has announced its response: starting on Sept. 16, Germany will unilaterally impose border closures, for six months, on all nine of its borders with other European countries. Incoming foreign nationals will be screened according to arbitrary criteria, and rejected applicants will be forced onto Germany’s next-door neighbors.
Although some details remain unclear, Germany’s plan amounts to an unprecedented step. Eight of the neighboring countries are EU members, and all of them are part of the Schengen regime that guarantees freedom of movement across borders within the bloc and recognizes the right to political asylum. Meanwhile, Germany’s mainstream opposition party is demanding an even more severe policy—one that would essentially prevent the country from accepting any new asylum applicants onto its territory at all.
“Until we achieve strong protection of the EU’s external borders with the new common European asylum system, we must strengthen controls at our national borders,” said Germany’s interior minister, Nancy Faeser. Her proposal involves expedited procedures at the German frontiers to determine whether each person who arrives may enter and apply for political asylum.
According to Faeser, the planned border screenings will limit illegal migration and “protect against the acute dangers posed by Islamist terrorism and serious crime.” There will be more deportations during this period, she said, but they will conform to EU law. But some experts disagree. European law expert Alberto Alemanno, a professor of European law at HEC Paris, told the Guardian that the German controls “represent a manifestly disproportionate breach of the principle of free movement within the Schengen area.”
And Sergio Carrera, a research fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), a Brussels-based think tank, told Foreign Policy that the border closures will most probably have a knock-on effect across the continent: “There’s the risk of these measures triggering a race to the bottom. Where’s the end point? We’re talking about rights that go to the very heart of what the EU is all about.”
The new measures at the German borders ratchet up pressure on European Union norms that are already strained. According to EU law, free movement within the bloc is guaranteed within the Schengen area, which encompasses most EU member countries (except Cyprus and Ireland) as well as Switzerland and Norway. Foreign nationals claiming political persecution have the right to apply for political protection in the country through which they enter the EU. But the bloc’s member countries may suspend Schengen’s guarantees in the case of “internal security concerns” as long as those concerns are proportional and legitimate and the suspensions temporary. Brussels must be briefed in advance.
Germany has had periodic border checks in place along the Austrian border since 2015—a response to the refugee crisis of 2015-16. Last year, in response to heightened migration flows, Germany established checks on its borders shared with Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. In fact, across the European Union, member states have temporarily restricted internal border crossings 404 times since 2015, according to German daily Die Tageszeitung.
Germany’s move would take another step toward turning the exception policy of internal EU border checks into the rule, argued Christian Jacob of Die Tageszeitung. A European Parliament study issued last year claimed that this was already happening and that a “systematic lack of compliance with EU law” could undermine rule of law guarantees.
One result would almost certainly be a chain reaction across the bloc. Walter Turnowsky, a migration expert at Denmark’s Der Nordschleswiger, a German-language newspaper, fears exactly this. “Officially, the announced German border controls are also temporary, but ultimately the announcement means the end of free travel across the EU,” he said. “From now on, governments will claim: ‘Well, Germany controls its borders too,’” so they will do the same.
The new German measures aim to stop non-EU citizens who have already applied for asylum elsewhere in the bloc from entering Germany by bus, train, or car from Schengen zone neighbors. (Currently, only third-country nationals who have invalid papers or don’t intend to file for political asylum are refused entry.) Under the new measures, the migrants would be returned to the country where they entered the Schengen area and originally applied for asylum, which are usually one of the EU’s southern external border countries, such as Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, or Spain.
German border guards would detain the foreign nationals at the border—perhaps even in a kind of jail, apparently for no longer than five weeks—until their status can be verified. Foreign nationals who had not previously applied for asylum but who claim political persecution could then enter Germany and apply for protection, which German courts would rule on at a later date.
One of the looming questions is what criteria German police would invoke to screen those parties interested in entering the country. Since not every person traveling into Germany can be stopped, “it will be people who look different, regardless of citizenship,” said Carrera, of CEPS. “A certain racial appearance will make some people suspect. This is racial profiling, and it is illegal.”
Against the background of its fierce battle in eastern Germany with the AfD, Germany’s conservative opposition, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), has opted to steal the other party’s thunder by endorsing measures very much like those of the far right—and until recently entirely taboo. Claiming that the government’s measures do not go nearly far enough, the CDU argues that no people—none at all—should be permitted to enter Germany in the absence of a visa or European passport.
This would de facto end the country’s commitment to offering asylum. In order to make this flagrant violation of international law at least appear to conform to EU regulations, under the CDU plan, Germany would declare a state of emergency as a result of internal security threats. This, the CDU believes, would legalize the across-the-board rejection of unwanted third-country nationals.
The proposal also goes a gigantic step beyond the limitation of movement in the EU, effectively eviscerating the right to political asylum.
“This kind of measure, and those the government are taking, will be investigated and could come before the EU court of justice,” Carrera said. “The EU will determine whether the security concerns really justify such a breach of EU law.” Other experts have said that Germany will not be able to prove that the recent attacks or the numbers of asylum-seekers—which have fallen this year—actually threaten the state’s internal security and thus justify (or indeed, are really aided by) these measures.
One of the many problems with the new German modus operandi: Neighboring states will have to accept people refused by Germany back onto their territory—and Austria, for one, which has general elections on Sept. 29 (and where polls indicate the situation for migrants is getting even worse, with a very strong showing of the far-right Freedom Party likely) said forget it, it won’t take them.
Poland is also up arms at the prospect of traffic jams at the borders that would obstruct commercial and private transportation. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called the German move a “de facto suspension of the Schengen Agreement on a large scale.”
The Belgian daily Le Soir seems to hit the nail on the head: “With governments like this, there’s no need for the far right to be in power. The pressure of elections and the fear of extremes are causing those in power to run around like headless chickens, with migrants as the only means for decompression.”
EU expert Thu Nguyen, the deputy director of the Berlin-based Jacques Delors Centre, told Foreign Policy that unilateral decisions taken by Germany—the EU’s most populous state—are entirely unproductive. She noted that the EU’s Pact on Migration and Asylum, a set of new rules passed this year for managing migration and establishing a common asylum system at a bloc-wide level, addresses some of the concerns about immigration raised by Germany and other EU states, including by facilitating faster procedures for asylum applicants at the continent’s external borders.
After all, Germany—including the CDU’s parliamentary group in the EU, the European People’s Party (EPP)—was essential in drafting the pact, together with the 25 other EU member states. When the pact came in front of the European Parliament earlier this year, EPP parliamentarian Tomas Tobé said that “the absolute best way to help support a European migration policy is to be loyal to the whole migration pact.”

However, as Cambiano puts it, “The (Classical) tragic theatre was full of noble characters who had suddenly been enslaved. The cause was found either in fate or chance or in punishment by the gods.” Indeed, Euripides’ (c. 484—406 BCE) plays The Trojan Women, Andromache, and Hecuba— all set in the Homeric age but produced in Athens’ Classical period— feature a cast of protagonists who are enslaved despite their membership in the Trojan royal family. Over the course of these plays, the Trojan Women frequently lament their enslavement, and are represented in ways meant to inspire pity. However, as Wrenhaven notes, Euripides repeatedly differentiates the enslaved Trojan Women from common slaves by a variety of factors, all of which the Trojan princess Polyxena demonstrates in two key scenes. The first is when she considers whether she would prefer being sacrificed or enslaved by her Greek captors: Why should I go on living? My father was the king of all the Phrygians… Then I was nourished by fair hopes as a bride for kings, and many were the rivals who competed to take me off to their hearth and home as their wife. I— now so unfortunate— was a mistress to the women of Ida. Among those women, both young and old, it was I who attracted all men’s gaze. Mortality apart, I was the equal of the gods. But now I am a slave. First of all, the strangeness of that name makes me long to die. Then I may perhaps have a cruel master who will buy me for silver, me the sister of Hector and of many others, force on me the task of making bread in his home, and impose the daily drudgery of sweeping the house and standing by the loom. And a slave bought from I know not where will defile my bed, which was once thought worthy of princes. No, it cannot be. I consign my body to Hades and take my last look on this daylight with eyes that are free (Hec. 348—370). As Wrenhaven notes, Polyxena finds the thought of enslavement repulsive not because the institution is unjust, but because she herself does not deserve it due to her lineage, nobility, preoccupation with marriage, modesty, former betrothment to fellow nobles, and victimization by fortune. In addition, Polyxena continues her self-description by emphasizing her beauty, and then ends it by flatly stating that the combination of these traits once rendered her an “equal of the gods.” Moreover, after Polyxena chooses to be sacrificed, she exposes her neck and abdomen to her sacrificers, an act which Euripides describes in the following way: “Her lovely breasts and bosom were revealed like a statue’s” (559—561). Although Euripides does not specifically say that the statue he compares Polyxena to depicts a deity, as the novelists often do, this would be consistent with his characterization of her as divine elsewhere. Thus, Euripides has Polyxena link beauty and divinity with fitness for mastership. This, coupled with the emphasis on how much his protagonists despise their enslavement, serves to portray slavery as an undesireable condition for the aristocratic elite. However, this is not a criticism of enslavement in general. By specifying that slavery is undesireable or unjust for enslaved elites, or masters by nature, both Aristotle and Euripides argue in turn that slavery is just and desirable for the common slave, or the slave by nature. As such, their shared concern for the enslaved does not challenge ideologies of slavery broadly, but only specific cases wherein it has been applied to the wrong type of person.
Slaves by Nature, Enslaved by Love: Receptions of Aristotle and Euripides in the Ancient Greek by Adrian Walls, pg 12-14.
This is an interesting concept. Much has been said about Polyxena's sacrifice in terms of tragedy (I don't need to explain why this is a tragic theme, I presume), gender (female sacrifice in Greco-Roman mythological narratives) and parallels (Iphigenia), but I I hadn't seen anyone comment on Polyxena's feeling about not despising the slavery system itself, but rather the fact that she, despite her nobility, is subjected to it. It makes sense, after all, the Trojan royal family did have slaves, as indicated in, for example, fragments of Sophocles’ plays (see Troilus fragments), Euripides' plays (see Alexandros fragments) and in Lycophron's poem Alexandra. And when we think about enslaved characters, usually the ones whose situations are portrayed as tragic are those who were well-known noble/royalt figures. For example, the slaves who constantly save exposed babies aren't depicted as tragic or have any relevance once the baby grows up (I'm talking about stories like Oedipus, Neleus and Pelias, Paris, etc) and of Helen's servants the only one whose servant/enslaved status is relevant is Aethra (notably, a princess and mother of a well-known hero), etc. That Greek mythology, as indeed many myths do, has a habit of focusing on people of high status is obvius, but it's still shocking that even in a topic like slavery the slaves who were common people by birth (i.e. not nobles, royalty, etc) aren't the emphasized. They're usually treated with indifference (e.g. Agelaus, the man who saved Paris), are portrayed negatively because they aren't loyal to the masters who enslaved them (e.g. The Odyssey), or are portrayed positively because they're loyal to their masters and are even willing to go against other slaves because of this loyalty (e.g. The Odyssey). And that's it.
While I don't think the play Hecuba itself is enough of an argument to be sure whether this was the thought of Euripides (it's certainly easier to suggest ideas about characters' thoughts than actual people), it does make sense that it was Polyxena's thought. In a way, it's quite predictable coming from Ancient Greece, but it's still an interesting thing to point out. Polyxena isn't to blame for the Trojan War and is also a victim in this context, but she, like the people of her time (especially royalty), still had thoughts like this.

I have to imagine Karlach has been MORE THAN A LITTLE WORRIED about what Hector has been doing all this time or whether Lorroakan's tower just fucking vaporized him; it almost did it once before.
-----
As Hector re-emerges through the exit portal and back into the tower, he can hear shouting echoing through the whole place.
"Oh, good, you're back," Rolan says dryly, looking up. "They've been rather worried about you."
Hector goes to the railing and peers down towards the lower floors, catching Gale's voice drifting up from below. "I don't know! It's certainly some sort of arcane teleportation system, but it would require quite a bit of study to determine exactly where--"
"Then do not be exact, Dekarios." Jaheira's voice now, matter-of-fact, somewhat strained. "We need only a direction, to begin."
"I am, of course, working to provide any information that I can," Gale answers. "But for a wizard of Lorroakan's power, such a system could have a range of anywhere up to--"
"HECTOR!!!!!!" Karlach's shout cuts across all other discussion, echoing through the whole building. "DAMN IT, HEC, WHERE ARE YOU???"
"Calm yourself, Karlach," Jaheira says. "We will find him, have no doubt of it."
"Calm?" Karlach snaps. "You saw what those portals did to him before! Almost fucking killed him! This whole place is a fucking death trap designed by a bloody sadist!"
"You need not tell me so," Jaheira says tightly. "It is not the first such place I have walked through. But we will find him, and you do him no good by raging at nothing."
"Well, what the fuck else am I supposed to do? I swear to all the gods, if this place hurt him, I'll wake Lorroakan back up and kill him again!"
"It's all right!" Hector calls down before Jaheira can respond. "It's all right-- I'm here. I'm up here!"
Karlach's head swivels around and she peers up at him through the tangle of floating platforms that line the tower. "Hec? Oh, thank fuck--" There's a scrabbling noise as she begins to scramble up the few levels separating them; with a grunt, she leaps and vaults the last railing, crashing into him and pulling him into a tight embrace.
"Hells, Hec, you can't scare me like that..."
"Sorry," he says, muffled against her shoulder. "I didn't mean to."
She draws back, presses her forehead against his with her eyes closed, takes a slow breath and lets it out. "Next time you don't get to press any scary-looking buttons without me too, all right?"
He smiles slightly. "Deal."

Charting the Course to SAP HANA Cloud
The push towards SAP HANA cloud shift stems from the need for agility and responsiveness in a dynamic business climate. The cloud promises reduced infrastructure expenses, robust data analytics, and the nimbleness to address changing needs quickly. However, for many companies, transitioning from on-premise SAP HANA to the cloud involves navigating concerns around data security, performance, and potentially relinquishing control of business-critical ERP systems.
SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud: A Tailored Offering
In light of these challenges, SAP presented the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC), a private cloud service designed expressly for mission-critical workloads. HEC advertises no compromise on performance, integration, security, failover, or disaster recovery. It spotlights versatility, strong customer support, and end-to-end coverage - from strategic planning to application management. This offering intends to provide the cloud’s agility and innovation under SAP’s direct guidance and expertise.
Actual Delivery of HANA Enterprise Cloud
Despite SAP’s messaging, the HEC’s delivery involves a consortium of third-party providers, including HPE, IBM, CenturyLink, Dimension Data, and Virtustream. SAP collaborates with these partners, who bid on projects often awarded to the lowest bidder, to leverage specialized capabilities while upholding SAP’s standards.
Weighing the Pros and Cons
Partnering with competent vendors ensures clients receive secure, best-practice SAP hosting and support. HEC’s comprehensive solution integrates licensing, infrastructure, and support with touted scalability and integration.
However, several customer challenges emerge. Firstly, leveraging SAP’s brand for cloud hosting and SAP managed services risks diminishing anticipated cost savings. Secondly, the lack of direct engagement with third-party providers raises concerns about entrusting critical ERP operations to unseen partners. This dynamic obscures visibility and control over SAP HANA migration and management.
Furthermore, the absence of a direct relationship between SAP HANA users and cloud suppliers may complicate support, especially for urgent issues warranting rapid response. While SAP’s ecosystem aims to guarantee quality and security, intermediation can hinder the timely resolution of critical situations, affecting system uptime and operations.
SAP HANA Cloud: A Strategic Decision
As SAP systems become increasingly vital, migrating SAP HANA is not simply a technical or operational choice but a strategic one. SAP HANA transcends a database or software suite – it constitutes a competitive advantage that, when optimized, can spur tremendous innovation and success. This migration necessitates meticulous planning, execution, and governance to ensure the transition empowers rather than compromises SAP HANA’s strategic value.
In this context, selecting the ideal cloud model and service providers represents critical decisions. Companies must scrutinize partners beyond cost, evaluating track records, SAP skills, security protocols, and the aptitude to deliver personalized, responsive service.
The Future SAP HANA Cloud Trajectory
As we advance into 2024, the SAP DATA Cloud Analytics landscape continues evolving. Innovations in cloud technology, security, and service creation provide new prospects for migration planning. Firms must stay updated on cloud service advancements, SAP’s strategic direction, and cloud shift best practices to navigate this transition successfully.
To accomplish this, companies should:
Collaborate cross-functionally to align SAP HANA cloud plans with broader business goals and technology roadmaps.
Ensure chosen cloud environments and suppliers meet rigorous data security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
Assess infrastructure ability to support SAP HANA performance requirements and scale amid fluctuating demands.
Institute clear governance and support structures for effective issue resolution throughout and post-migration.
Transitioning SAP HANA to the cloud is complex but ultimately rewarding, unlocking efficiency, agility, and innovation when executed deliberately. By weighing the strategic, operational, and technical dynamics, businesses can drive this migration smoothly, fully capturing SAP HANA’s power to fuel future prosperity.

ARGONUS INFO: the common size classification system (for planes)
(NOTE: description copy-pasted from DA where i normally post my works. any context that is missing here on tumblr can be found on my DA [linked here and on pinned post] )
Tumblr media
because one day i decided to make this because worldbuilding. also, kinda wanna have this be a little short.
so, yes, in a world where the main inhabitants come in such a wide array of sizes, there needs to be some kind of system to differences between size classes.
now, contrary to what many would believe (and the discrimination people would pull off), the Common Size Classification system (CSC) is used to give the proper size-appropriate accommodations, such as housing, clothing, food, facilities, etc.. basically making it so that things aren't too small/big to the individuals.
the elkinets use the same exact measuring systems/units as we do, ie feet/meters. however, they have an extra unit of measurement, known as "hectors" (imperial) and "poles" (Metric). every 10ft is considered a Hector (Hecs), while 4 meters is considered a Pole (Pol). this is something that makes is easier and more convenient to measure an elkinet.
now, when it comes to the size of argonian aircraft, the primary factor is height, however things like length, weight, wingspan and whether the individual is a pygmy/dwarf, are also taken into consideration as well. even though they're listed by letter, they are also commonly listed by color for many of the non-English-speaking countries that don't use the English alphabet.
so, here are all size forms of size classes and some example so the aircraft that fit there. (also take note that this drawing isn't meant to be 100% accurate, this is just to get a general gist of things)
LARGE AIRCRAFT
A-class / red class (Giant) 190ft or more (58m+)     the absolute largest size group. commonly called "giants", not many aircraft exist in this size group, however it is still a considerable large number. the most well-known of giants are the an-225 mriyas, c-5 galaxies, a380 and 747, however other aircraft of similar size are places here as well (h-4 hercules/spruce goose, an-124, stratolaunch, ect).
B-class / orange class (lesser giants) 120-170 ft (37-52m)     just below A-class is B-class, where aircraft are definitely giant, but not quite as big as the former. while larger airlines are the type species for this group (777, a340, dc-10, ect), there are many other aircraft that comfterbly fit here. such aircraft would include many general cargo/transport aircraft (an-22, c-17 globemaster, ect) and some of the largest bomber species (B-52 stratofortress, xb-70 Valkyrie, b-36 peacemaker).
MEDIUM AIRCRAFT
C-class / yellow class (halfways) 80-110ft (24-34m)     C-class as well as the next one down are considered "Mid-sized" aircraft, with C-class being considered "true middle". again, many aircraft fit into this category, with one of most notable aircraft of C-class are the c-130s. other aircraft, like the 707s, some mid-sized bombers, ect., are included here as well.
D-class / green class (greater commoner) 40-70ft (12-21m)     the lower end of mid-sized aircraft. D-class aircraft contain larger business jets, larger fighter jets, and small bombers, but other aircraft fit here as well. interestingly enough, the U-2 dragonlady, despite having a mass more closer to that of a standard fighter jet, are usually placed on the mid-upper levels of D-class due to their lengthy legs giving them extra height.
SMALL AIRCRAFT
E-class / blue class (commoner) 20-30ft (6-9m)     E-class aircraft are what non-argonian residents call the "Human-sized" of the planet, which checks out considering that the aircraft that are used as a human analog fit directly in this size class; most fighter jets, most small civilian aircraft, ect.
F-class / purple class (smainxian) 10ft or less (3m / less)     the last and smallest end of the system, f-class citizens contain all of the smallest citizens on argonus. prior to the arrival of humans and other smaller sophonts, only the smainxian aircraft (smallest manned aircraft) and many drone species existed in this category, alongside some outliers as well. however, F-class nowadays is perhaps one of the most diverse size class, if one where to include the many other sophonts that live on modern argonus.
now some extra notes:
-pygmy elkinets are often put in the next lowest size class.
-mix-sizeclass housing (no surprise) does exist for multi-species families/groups/couples. these are just modifies homes, and sometimes kelxverns and other shifters will choose these instead of actual shifter-friendly homes because they're often cheaper to rent/buy.
-while on the topic of shifters, it's a bit of a mess when it comes to exactly what size class they're put in. most of the time they're considered a "multiclass" citizen, which means that all of their different forms/sizes are taken into consideration.
man, i'm smelling the G/t side of me coming out.

Why Indian Students Are Choosing to Study Abroad in France
France has become one of the popular destinations for Indian students who want to study abroad in recent years. France is a land of great education, culture, business, and government provisions to international students, as well, which means that the country has an international infrastructure of high-quality living as well as high academic standards. The number of Indian students studying in France is expected to be 10,000 or above in 2024, but is projected to grow significantly in 2025 and beyond.
What is the actual impetus behind this trend? What is so special about France that it is becoming the most preferred destination over the more conventional destinations such as the US, the UK or Australia? This blog goes to the bottom of why Indians are now flooding to France to realise their dreams of higher education.
1. World-Class Universities and Academic Excellence
France has one of the best institutions of higher studies in the World. It harbors more than 3,500 private and government universities, business schools, and engineering schools. Famous higher education institutions such as Université PSL, École Polytechnique, HEC Paris, INSEAD, and Sorbonne University are always top in the world university ranking.
The French school system stresses academic rigour as well as innovativeness. French institutions are successful in engineering, management, hospitality, arts, fashion design, data science, and international relations, just to mention a few. French universities' grants are globally acknowledged and recognized by employers and other learning institutions all over the world.
Key Features:
Multilingual programs (French and English)
Research-driven curriculum
High-quality faculty and state-of-the-art labs
Internship-integrated courses
2. Affordable Tuition Fees Compared to Other Countries
Among the largest benefits of studying in France is that the education is cheap, especially in public institutions. The French government subsidizes high tuition fees charged at public institutions, even to international students. This makes France an economical country of study as compared to the United States, the UK, or Canada for Indian students.
Average Tuition Fees (Public Universities):
Bachelor’s: €2,770/year
Master’s: €3,770/year
PhD: €380/year
In contrast, private institutions (especially business schools) may have higher fees, ranging from €10,000 to €30,000 per year. However, the ROI (return on investment) remains strong due to the reputation and global network of these institutions.
3. Wide Range of English-Taught Programs
One of the greatest misunderstandings by Indian students is that it is a necessity that one speaks French in France to study. Although learning French will indeed enrich the experience, France hosts more than 1,600 English-speaking programs, particularly at the postgraduate level. These programs are made to serve international students and they advance in various courses including business administration, computer science, fashion, artificial intelligence, hospitality, biotechnology, among others.
Popular English-Taught Programs:
MSc in Data Science
MBA in International Business
Master’s in Engineering
Bachelor’s in Fashion & Luxury Management
MSc in Artificial Intelligence
4. Scholarship Opportunities for Indian Students
The French government, institutions, and other organizations offer a variety of scholarships and financial aid options for Indian students. These scholarships can cover tuition, living expenses, and even travel costs in some cases.
Notable Scholarships:
Charpak Scholarship – Offered by the French Embassy in India for bachelor’s and master’s programs
Eiffel Excellence Scholarship – Offered by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs
Emile Boutmy Scholarship – Offered by Sciences Po for international students
Erasmus+ Scholarships – For students studying in joint programs across European universities
These scholarships significantly reduce the financial burden and make studying in France a more accessible dream for Indian students.
5. Strong Career Opportunities and Post-Study Work Visas
France has the 7th largest economy in the world and hosts some of the largest MNCs such as Airbus, Dassault Systèmes, L'Oral, Renault, BNP Paribas, and Total Energies. The country has a wide range of sectors, such as technology, AI, fashion, tourism, and engineering industries, to unleash vast opportunities for international graduates.
In addition to this, France permits foreign students to remain in the country as well as the ability to work up to a period of two years upon graduation (in cases of the master's degree holders). This work visa after study will enable the students to attain great experience as a foreign worker and even become permanent employees or residents.
6. France’s Global Role in Art, Fashion, and Innovation
France unquestionably is the capital of fashion, art and luxury goods. An Academy such as ESMOD, IFM, and Institut Francais de la mode draws people to become designers everywhere in the world and those who are creative.
Meanwhile, France is not a single-dimensional country in terms of technology and innovation as investment in the field of AI, robotics, renewable energy, and fintech is also increasing. The city of Paris is, specifically, fast becoming a European Silicon Valley, which is why it is the breeding ground of tech graduates and entrepreneurs.
The combination of tradition and innovation in this curricular fusion is also of interest to Indian students of all academic backgrounds: whether engineering, design, business, or liberal arts.
7. France's Student-Friendly Visa and Immigration Policies
France has been proactive in attracting Indian students through various bilateral initiatives. Under the India-France Knowledge Summit and agreements like the Bienvenue en France program, France is aiming to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030.
Some key visa benefits include:
Simplified visa processing for students
Two-year post-study work permit for master’s graduates
Renewable residence permit options for jobseekers
Dependent visa options for spouses and children (for certain visa types)
Such policies demonstrate that France is not just inviting students for education, but is also invested in their long-term future.
8. Rich Culture, Lifestyle, and Travel Opportunities
Studying in France is more than just academics—it’s about experiencing life in one of the most culturally vibrant countries in the world. Indian students are drawn to France's:
World-class museums (Louvre, Musée d'Orsay)
Historic architecture (cathedrals, castles, châteaux)
Culinary delights (croissants, cheese, wine)
Fashion-forward cities (Paris, Lyon, Nice)
France is also centrally located in Europe, making it easy for students to travel to nearby countries like Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Spain on a student budget. The lifestyle is a perfect mix of leisure, art, travel, and personal growth.
9. Strong Indian Student Community and Support Networks
A rising number of Indian immigrants (diaspora) and students in France guarantees that new students are not left alone. Indian students' associations in larger universities evolve to give support in academics, accommodation, festivals, and networking.
Furthermore, the France Alumni Network also brings together thousands of foreign graduates, who want to use it to drive their careers, social and academic life. The French Embassy in India, Campus France, and local Indian bodies also have initiatives that assist Indian students to make a smooth transition to life in France.
10. Opportunities to Learn a Global Language: French
Although a lot of the courses are presented in English, the Indian students get an opportunity to study French, which is the fifth most spoken language in the world. With knowledge of French, you have greater opportunities in your career, not only in France, but in some 29 Francophone nations and in multinational organizations that have operations throughout Europe, Canada, and Africa.
It is through the provision of subsidized or free French language classes to the international students in most universities that makes the international students globally competitive professionals.
Final Thoughts
France is more than just a tourist destination, but rather a country full of innovations, prospects, and culture at a discount price. Through English-taught courses, numerous scholarships, work opportunities after studies, and a friendly academic setup, France provides Indian students a rich education experience with a lifelong career benefit.
Regardless of whether you want to become a software engineer, a fashion designer, a data scientist, or an entrepreneur, France is a place where your global aspirations can be fulfilled with the right platform, prestige, and promise.
