Day 7: a song that reminds me of a certain event—Trapped

30 days of music, but only Boards of Canada, day 7. A song that remind me of a certain event. Tough one. Songs definitely remind me of times and places, but not so much events. Not for music I choose to listen to, anyway.

Ah yes! Trapped.

This is a remix of the brilliant Colonel Abrams song of the same name, released under BoC's lesser-known Hell Interface monicker. (Which was bound to come up at some point: too good.)

Trapped is a brilliant remix of a brilliant song, lending a very different, sinister vibe. It's suggestive of a road-not-travelled where BoC choose to work more with vocalists. They have done that via the medium of remixes from time to time. but an album of actual songs paired with BoC's signature melodies would be a very special thing.

I DJ'd at a few friends' weddings and parties in my youth, but it was the one time I DJ'd at a London club (Ginglik, now closed) that I played some Hell Interface. I actually played The Midas Touch, not Trapped that evening, but anything Hell Interface makes me recall that time, and I've come to love Trapped a little more. Fun evening!

Kurvitz stresses that Kim doesn't actually have a character sheet hidden in Disco Elysium's code. Kim's high Volition skill makes him impervious to prying, Kurvitz says, as the detective can find out on occasions being met with Kim's brick-wall resolve. Kim often chastises these whims of the detective's, but will occasionally play along. The Lieutenant finds his new partner funny, says Kurvitz.

This is my first purely er°tic writing, where I introduce how I conceive interfacing. I'm using the se x ual interfacing tag for approximation only, as I'm not adopting the widely spread and assimilated fan made conception of valve and spike penetration, too similar to organic intercourse. I wanted to explore the idea of an intimacy that is not derived from human ways. No valve nor spike here. My vision is purely robotic and cybernetic, and inherently se x less, involving chords, ports and networks solely, but also meaning a sensorial stimulation, and even, a more intimate engagement.

she has a face now!! some fun facts about Soluwae:

she was born via an ancient ritual created by one of her ancestors (coincidentally, the same ritual that birthed Aune!)

pronouns she/her. intersex. LESBIAN

she is part of the Cult of the Silken Weaver (also known as the Ouss'val), a fringe cult of Lolth which was founded by her family. It is old and not very well-known, by design; this has aided in its survival over the years

She serves as the cult's Inheritor (a title for the High Priest/ess; a 'Chosen One' type of role)

before Soluwae, it had been some time since an Inheritor was born. When she was finally ushered into the world, most of the cult took her strange appearance as a sign that there was something special about her, and later confirmed her Inheritor status when her abilities eventually manifested

Soluwae calls the Feydark home (and the Underdark, by extension). The cult's sanctum is located in an extensive cavern system within the Feydark

the markings on her face are scarification, not tattoos. Every member of the cult shares the same scars

Soluwae later respecs as a monk; within her cult, there is a monastic order which follows the Way of the Many-Limbed (a blend between the Way of the Open Hand + the Way of Shadow). The monks are called gloomweavers, and their style of combat is based off of arachnid behavior and abilities

Soluwae has some spider-like characteristics that unsettle her companions. She has a habit of making a low clicking noise in her throat when she is content. Sometimes it calls nearby spiders to the area. (Gale really dislikes this.) On occasion, when she battles, a spectral image of two extra set of appendages seem to extend from her back

she is curious, impatient, and very spoiled; long accustomed to others doing everything for her. However, she has moments of gloominess in which she withdraws from others. Despite seeming immature at times, she has a strong sense of responsibility to her cult and its preservation
