Hokay, Ludwig headcanons, LET'S-A GO!!

He doesn't know how to swim and is terrified of deep bodies of water, especially the ocean. He'll still go on a cruise if he's invited, but don't be surprised to see him digging his claws into the floor as someone drags him on board.

He hatched with a crooked tail and never got it corrected, unlike his cousin Lemmy who went ahead and got his fixed.

In my version of the Marioverse, magic users can use whatever spells they want after enough training, but typically have affinities for certain types, basically MLP rules. All the Koopalings have an affinity with at least one type of magic... except Ludwig, who has none. He's still considered the strongest magic user amongst them because he regularly studies different types, while the other Koopalings usually stick to what they have a knack for.

Despite what his demeanor may imply, he heavily dislikes dressing up for parties or other social gatherings, as it reminds him of his aristocratic upbringing, full of neglect. He'll still attend if he's invited or if his siblings are going, but expect him to be a wallflower or just hide somewhere nearby, only coming out to grab something to eat or drink before vanishing again.

Him being considered "the cruelest" is no joke. Piss him off enough, and he will come after you, no matter how long it takes, and he will figure out how to hit you where it hurts. That being said, depending on how he was crossed, he may in fact be so covert about his revenge that the target in question might not even realize that Ludwig was responsible. And isn't that just delicious? Sweet, like all revenge should be. >:3c

He's very goal-oriented; if there's something he wants and he thinks he can get it, then he's gonna get it. In Color Splash, for example, his paper self wanted a chance to fight Mario, so he worked hard to make that happen, even prepping a friggin' battleship (okay, part of one-) for the occasion. Dude loves to go all out. My version of him is notably determined to beat Real Worlder!Dal in combat, even calling Dal "The Mario to his Bowser," if only to himself.

That being said, the potential consequences could deter him just as quickly if his neuroticism manages to convince him that It's Not Worth the Risk. Eyes are everywhere, after all, and even the slightest slip could prove disastrous, whether socially, emotionally, or physically. That's the main thing he was taught growing up, and while he's cut ties with his parents, he has yet to fully cut ties with their teachings...

And finally, the fruitiest, juiciest of 'em all...!

Ludwig doesn't like pulp in his OJ. The texture's all sorts of wrong to him. Iggy is aware of this, and deliberately drinks it with pulp to annoy him. As if the guy's tastes couldn't get any weirder...

Lining for a bag to carry all my con stuff: sewn! (It even has pockets!)

Pieces for a casual punk!Rhaenyra for the evening parties: purchased!

I got to check three things off my Dragon Con to-do list today -- and add one more: a try-on and makeup test-run for punk!Rhaenyra. But hey, three steps forward and one step back isn't so bad, lol.

I am really happy with how the screen-accurate red dress is coming together and I cannot wait to wear it. There's a House of the Dragon/World of Ice and Fire photo meetup on Friday afternoon and it's my only Must Not Miss event for Friday. It'll be fun to get pictures with other people in costume, and commiserate over the complicated nature of HotD/GoT costuming.

Buuut, as much as I'm looking forward to finishing this dress and wearing it around con, every time I put it on I realize that there is definitely going to come a point in the evening when I want to get out of my super fancy silk gown and into something more casual for the evening parties. And thus the idea of punk!Rhaenyra was born.

So sometime Friday evening I'll go back to my hotel room and take off the red dress, re-adjust my Rhaenyra wig, put on a bunch more makeup, and switch to this look with the Targaryen tank top and red-and-black plaid skirt. I'll be pairing it with my big Doc Martens (which will have red laces already in by then) and the Valyrian steel necklace, and several accessories from my Harley Quinn outfit. My hope is that it'll read as Targaryen punk while being comfortable and easy to dance and drink and lounge in.

That puts my planned costumes for the weekend up to six total. Now that photo meetups and evening parties have been announced, my schedule is looking pretty locked in:

Thursday night: 80s prom

Friday daytime: Rhaenyra's red dress from eps 7 and 8

Friday night: punk Rhaenyra

Saturday all day: Harley Quinn in a Taylor Swift tshirt

Sunday daytime: Oswin Oswald from Asylum of the Daleks

Sunday night: Clara Oswald from Mummy on the Orient Express

As far as parties, I'm planning on hitting up the 80s prom (obviously) on Thursday night and the Doctor Who ball on Sunday night. Photoshoots I'm planning to be at include the House of the Dragon gathering on Friday afternoon, and the Harley Quinn gathering on Saturday afternoon. I've heard there might be a Taylor Swift meetup too, and if that happens to be on Saturday I'll try to swing by there with my 'we are never getting back together. like ever.' tshirt.

I've got maybe half an hour left today to work on the hem a bit, but after that I'll be down to 36 days to finish everything up for Dragon Con. If I can keep having days like this where I knock a bunch of stuff off my list, my to-do list should be in good shape a month from now. But I am so excited to wear all of these costumes that it's keeping me extra motivated.

From what we've been able to find, hokai/hoki/hoka was never coined formally on its own, instead being suffixes from an OC project belonging to @dead-dog-dont-eat, referring to orientations that monsters have. Several of them were coined in this post (https://www.tumblr.com/radiomogai/737089955505012736/okay-so-here-are-some-of-the-main-sexualities-of) by @genderstarbucks

I can't remember who gave us that information, I think it was a mix of a few people, and I don't have the spoons to check. Thank you to whoever it was

Lore of Enderûn: Sky Islands Part I: The History of Imura

Word Count: 2,700

Floating to the far west of the realm, just over one hundred miles to the west of the jungle continent of Oris, are the Sky Islands of Imura, home to many oriental individuals of different classes and walks of life. Across the six floating islands are lush jungles of different trees and bamboo, rough mountainous terrain, and open fields and plantations, the latter of which provide food to many of the residents of the islands.

Yama no Shima, The Isle of Mountains, is the northern island of the six, and like the name suggests is a very mountainous island with a jungle across one half of it and waterfalls scattered across its surface. This is where the strongest-willed Imuran people are from due to the harsh regions of the mountains, with small villages scattered throughout on the rare bits of flat ground there are. Each village in the mountains are home to hot springs of varying temperatures with the hottest ones being deep in the mountains in the most secluded villages. This is thanks to the magical geothermal energy beneath the surface.

Shōnin no Shima, The Merchant's Isle, is the northwestern island, and is home to a booming city of trade and home to the Kirii Shipping and Mercantile Company, and is the main source of income for Imura. Their shops and warehouses are scattered around Imura as well. Under Shōnin no Shima in the southeast of the kingdom is Kurafuto Shima, The Isle of Craft. This is where all manner of craftsmen create goods to sell from furniture to weapons and armor. The land is covered in jungle with villages scattered about, and is home to numerous blacksmiths due to the magickal geothermal energy below the surface, much like the Isle of Mountains.

To the southeast is Kyojin no Shima, the Isle of Giants. While half of this island is used for Imura's plantations, the other half is covered in jungle and bamboo forests, and is home to giant Imuran pandas, the reason behind the name of the island. The entire half of the island is a sanctuary for the beasts, along with the population of red pandas dotting the forests also. Just north of that island is Shūkaku no Shima, the Isle of Harvest. This is the island full of fieldlands that are home to the majority of Imura's plantations, and is where much of the food supplies of the kingdom come from.

The final island is in the center of the previous five. Omo no Shima, the Isle of Lords. This is where the governing council of multiple great clans come together to discuss the politics and well being of Imura. This island holds the capital city of the kingdom in the very center, and is surrounded by numerous plantations and other things of interest.

The history of these magickally floating land masses goes far into the past, and the Sky Islands of Imura aren't the only ones in existence either as there are two other floating kingdoms as well as written before. In the beginning of this particular kingdom's history, there have been numerous clans of various professions that have taken root and created their homes. The largest of which rose above the others and gained power as lords, each clan headed by powerful nobles.

The first of these clans is the Hokai, a clan composed of master craftsmen, blacksmiths, fletchers, and carpenters. But along with those, there were also very skilled and powerful mages and alchemists among them. Their home was the island to the southeast of the kingdom. The members of this clan were experts at building homes and smiting weapons for both hunting and war, and nearly any other craft in between, and the mages and alchemists both provided their vast intelligence to the mix. Their work was rivaled only by the dwarves of the Ironstone Clan and their stonemasonry.

The second clan were actually two clans that have merged together. The Kirii-Tokugawa, who make their homes on the northwest and northern islands respectively. The Kirii were merchants by trade, and had their stores set in every corner of Imura. They were among the most profitable clans in the entire continent and even had a shipping business to transport their goods not only across Imura, but far across the sea under them to other kingdoms as well. Over time, they had eventually merged with the Tokugawa Clan through an alliance of convenience. They were a clan of samurai that were among the most skillful in combat among all the clans. Together these two clans ruled the merchant world, and often were known to raise prices on a whim and enforce them with steel.

The last of the clans are the Fukizawa, who made their home on the easternmost and northeastern islands. This clan - while mainly consisting of farmers and ranchers - was the largest of the clans, hence their hold on two of the larger islands. Their fields expanded for miles and were full of crops of different kinds from wheat to corn, and even to barley and rice. But not only were there farmers and ranchers in this clan, there were also skillful hunters and trappers as well, and many of whom could hold their own in a fight if needed.

These three clans were all very large at one point in time and held province over many of the smaller clans in their areas, although the center island was largely untouched by them all and was left to many of the remaining clans as a sign of good will. For years the clans coexisted without issue, the only tension coming from issues with the Kirii-Tokugawa and their business practices. It was a time of peace, but it did begin to grow strained with each passing year with the growing clans until unruly, power-hungry upstarts of all three leading clans ignited war.

Young men from the three clans crept away from their homes and set fire to the fields and armories of the Kirii-Tokugawa, the fields of the Fukizawa, and the smiths of the Hokai. The clans argued and shouted with one another over who was responsible for the attacks until one day the talks became violence, and brutal war was waged between the samurai, mages, and hunters of all clans, and that war pulled many smaller clans unwillingly into the fray.

The war saw countless battles take place and although the tensions began with deception and anger, battles were fought with strategy rather than blind violence. The Hokai Clan were among the most well armed and armored of the three due to the master craftsmen and smiths, but being well armed and being skilled in the use of those arms were two different subjects entirely. Many mages were armed with armor and blades and sent to battle as spellswords, and they were the protectors of the Hokai and their lands.

The Kirii-Tokugawa were the most ruthless of the clans. While the skilled samurai waged battle, the merchants put a stranglehold on the economy of Imura. With their stores scattered throughout the continent, many of the opposing clans were left without money or goods from other islands. But in doing that, the Kirii also crippled their clan with not being able to receive much of the food that the Fukizawa provide. That is not something that kept them crippled for long though, as the clan invaded one of the Fukizawa's islands, looking to take it by force for their food supply.

The hunters of Fukizawa waged guerilla warfare against their invaders at every turn, and some farmers eventually became the first ninja of the realm, learning of their hidden ki and how to use it. While they fended the invaders of the Kirii-Tokugawa off for a long while, the numbers and skill in battle eventually became too much for them to face even through sneak attacks and traps. Although, as a parting blow against the invaders, the Fukizawa burned their own fields of that island before retreating to their remaining land, and forced the invaders to regrow the plantations themselves.

The war raged on for three years before a small, new clan emerged, born from a few members of each clan of Imura. These people banded together under the Nimbasu banner after the Kirii-Tokugawa began to force their way onto the central, independent island. This clan, born from those who grew tired of this war, worked to fight against the three warring clans through any means they could muster. From samurai formerly of the Kirii-Tokugawa, spellswords formerly of the Hokai, and ninja and hunters formerly of the Fukizawa, along with many from the smaller clans, these men and women fought to uncover the truth behind why these clans began their war, and fought to end it.

The leader of this clan was the legendary warrior named Azuma Nimbasu. Trained as a samurai who then learned the ways of magick and ninjutsu combined later on, this man abandoned the Kirii-Tokugawa clan to form this new alliance, and led it into history. He carried two blades with him. One being a starmetal katana named Moeru Hikari, crafted for him by one of his most skilled and trusted blacksmiths. The second weapon was a shirasaya with a black mithril blade named Kaze Ni Sasayaku, which he forged himself.

Being one of his former clan's best strategists, Azuma led his allied clan of samurai, spellswords, and ninja into skirmishes against all three clans, beginning with the Fukizawa to gain the plantations for his cause. Directing the ninja, he was able to gain control of the Fukizawa's remaining island and face Lord Tsutsumi Fukizawa in combat, and deftly defeated him through ninjutsu but didn't kill him, and the Fukizawa clan joined the Nimbasu along with the plantations of food that were still in the clan's territory.

Azuma then set his sights on the Hokai, understanding that after provisions should come improved equipment for his army. This was where he commanded both the ninja and spellswords of his clan against the Hokai through both magickal prowess and subterfuge, and this is where his strategic mind truly shined. He sent groups of spellswords and ninja together to face the enemy, hoping to throw them off guard from the combined attacks of both types and it had paid off with minimal casualties to both sides. Azuma then challenged Lady Kuroki Hokai to a battle of spell and strength, and defeated her after a long and arduous test of skill. As with Lord Tsutsumi, Azuma spared Lady Kuroki's life, and so the Hokai and its smiths and craftsmen joined with the Nimbasa Clan.

It was during this time the cause of the tensions and lies between the clans was discovered, and the upstarts that had acted out their plans were thrown in prison to await execution. With the ties between the three clans growing stronger after two of the conspirators of the war being imprisoned, the Nimbasa Clan moved to take back the Fukizawa Clan's second island. During this time, the Kirii-Tokugawa Clan had gained their own spellswords, and the battles grew more bloody as a result. Azuma commanded his forces to do their best to spare all the lives they could throughout his conquest and this was no different, but the Kirii-Tokugawa were far more stubborn due to the power they gained from their merged clans of merchants and samurai. After months of small skirmishes and larger, decisive battles,the island and its plantations were finally taken back for the Fukizawa, and the Kirii-Tokugawa were left with waning food supplies that left their army hungry.

The war turned into one of attrition. Azuma began to wait patiently as he gave his allies and their armies rest, all while the limited food stores left the Kirii-Tokugawa weaker and weaker. With fully rested, fed, and armed forces, the Nimbasa Clan and their allies began to move onto the islands controlled by the Kirii-Tokugawa. Unlike the retaking of the Fukizawa's second island, this time the battles were quick and decisive in the favor of the three allied clans. The lives of the enemy were easily spared as the lack of proper meals led to many of the samurai being weakened.

The island that was originally controlled by only the Kirii Clan was taken after not a battle, but surrender from Lady Suzukaze Kirii. She was a very intelligent person and knew her clan were not going to win in any way, and decided that surrender was the only possible way to preserve her clan rather than fight. She was then informed of the reason for the war, and she imprisoned her youngest son for his part in the conspiracy, cursing him the entire way to the cell for the loss of her eldest daughter in the war. The end of the war drew near as Azuma's forces marched through the final island of Imura, into Lord Mazamune Tokugawa's domain.

The samurai closest to the Lord's fortress had been well fed, and they were strong and able to fight for longer. Sadly, loss of life began to occur once more on both sides, but the Nimbasu Clan made their way through Tokugawa's forces and finally assaulted the fortress. The siege went on for several weeks before the ninja of the Nimbasu were able to infiltrate the fortress, incapacitate the soldiers on the walls, and open the gates. Eventually, Azuma and Lord Mazamune met in battle. Both were equally matched in strength and skill with their respective weapons, but Azuma's additional skills in ninjutsu and magick aided him in the end, and he defeated Lord Mazamune after a long battle.

The war was finally ended.

Azuma held a meeting with the Lords and Ladies of the three clans, and Mazamune was made aware of the conspiracy acted out by the members of the three clans to gain power. The decision was unanimous to execute the conspirators, as painful as it may have been for them as these were children of the Lords. Afterwards, instead of returning to their old ways, the clans decided to come together to form the Nimbasu Dynasty with Azuma as the Lord, who eventually was married to Lady Suzukage, and they both had three children together to join Lady Suzukaze's only surviving daughter.

The war was known from then on as Uso no Sensō, the War of Lies. Azuma's story went on to become a legend in Imura's history, and the kingdom changed with the times and with his descendants. At one point in time, the Nimbasu Dynasty turned into a council of all the clans, who came together to discuss the business, needs, and politics of their respective islands. This was the model of government that inspired the councils of many cities in the world thereafter.

Over the decades and centuries after the war, Imura became known as the home of the Spellsword Samurai, a group of samurai that still practice both bushido and magick. These warriors inspired many people in the world to become warmages themselves. Along with them, clans of ninja began to spring up one by one throughout Imura, who trained themselves in the ways their ancestors did in order to master their ki. Through either warrior clans or ninja clans, the descendants of Azuma Nimbasu spread through Imura in all corners of the kingdom, and spread throughout the world afterward.

Since those days, Imura saw centuries of peace under the new governmental system. Gone were the days of warrior clans joining with merchant clans to enforce egregious prices on goods. Now, all goods are priced fairly and no one is left without the ability to buy items they need or want. These days, Imura is one of the major kingdoms of the realm and the council of the Nimbasu Dynasty is sought after by many leaders in order to better understand the needs of their people.

The history of Imura is one of conspiracy, war, and growth. It should be learned from, not forgotten and thrown aside as to prevent another War of Lies from taking place. But, that is the history of this group of islands in the sky. Two more stories are left to be told, both possibly, equally, as interesting and important.

Ever since she was young, other than being interested in a certain blue blur, Tanya Hokai was always interested in signing up for the Inkopolis Games that happened once a year in the city with events that ranged from disc throwing to 100 meter dash to fencing, etc. Though she never really thought she would be strong enough to sign up for the Inkopolis Games... Until she became old enough to sign up for Turf Wars, starting to sign up for them due to wanting to be strong enough to deal with a bully she had encountered in middle school and would eventually re-encounter during her Sophomore year of high school. And as soon as she had turned the age of 20 years old, which is the youngest age you could be in order to sign up for the Inkopolis Games, she immediately signed up... And thanks to how buff she was, she was put into the more muscle oriented games of the Inkopolis Games - things like disc throwing, weight lifting, throwing those giant metal balls with handles attached to them (I forget what they're called), events like that.

Though after the events of that year, Tanya felt that she was just a little too weak to properly take place in the events... So over the next year, she took training a lot more seriously, lifting weights and doing a lot more excersize than what an Inkling of her buffness should be able to normally handle! So when she had come along next year, she had sort of... Gained a figure that would basically qualify her as a hyper muscle type of woman. Shell, as a result of that, she ALMOST got disqualified for being TOO CODDAMN STRONG. But due to the major positive reception they had gained from Tanya entering the games last year, those at the reception and even the higher-ups decided that it was best to let her participate, or else they might have an angry mob on their hands.

OH BOY vax... i’ve been rping him a lot lately but he still remains a bit of an enigma!! lets see..

Personal

1) Age? 23! he acts older than his age i think

2) Gender? like all my other ocs bc i’m very self indulgent, he is a trans guy!

3) Romantic/Sexual Orientation? vax can think boys are cute, but he’s never been a very romantically active person. he doesn’t lack a capacity for affection, he’s just always... busy with other stuff? it’s not something he thinks about often. if he’s buzzy around someone it’s probably bc he adores their cybernetics/etc work

4) Height? probably smth like 3′9″

5) Race? asura (+ cyborg??)

6) What do they look like? (i.e, hair color, eye color, etc). i’m gonna link The Vax Draw, i’m undecided about whether his hair is naturally full black or if the white stripes are weird pigment loss... PS he has a ton of moles all over, not just on his face :D

7) Any disabilities? hokay this is a Vax Secret but he has some sort of muscular and/or skeletal disorder i need to research into/get specifics on but the general idea is that he can get very weak and achey and have trouble moving sometimes! he deals with this via another Vax Secret i might talk about sometime

8) Is there a meaning to their name? in asuran ?? idk i dont think their names have meanings, but irl its a shortened asurafied version of ‘vaccine’ bc i thought it sounded cool

9) What makes them, them? Odd Question but he’s very shaped by his childhood experiences studying his father’s work and looking up to his dad and he’s very defined by his innate drive to bulldoze towards goals he has and wants to research... he’s a very stubborn and determined person who’s very much an agent For Himself

10) What do they want to be when they grow up/what do they want to do with their lives? he is Growed Up but he really wants to keep chasing revolutions in prosthetics/augments/cybernetics.. he wants to help people in ways they couldn’t otherwise be helped (atypical inquest huh)

11) Do they have parents? What are they like and how do they act with their child(ren)? yes one parent, a single dad! ppl who’ve been watchin my hell rp server stuff will know his name is akka and he’s one of the top prosthetics smiths in the industry and was very private about his work but had a very cutting edge philosophy towards artificial parts and lead some really revolutionary work... dr. akka is a very kind and patient man with a good soul who is a tad weary from the world but he loved his son very much! he and vax had a great bond and vax was always eager to learn about his dad’s life work and his dad was always eager to teach him.. akka is an overall pretty amazing man, it’s a shame he joined the inquest for some reason and now we don’t know his current whereabouts......

12) Do they have siblings? How do they interact with them? If not, do they wish they had siblings? he technically has a sibling! maybe more? but he’s never met them... vax is perfectly pleased with being an only child, we’ll have to see how he reacts if he ever meets this one. it’s actually a character y’all are already familiar with.......

13) Extended family? Do they see them often? nope and nope

14) Do they like where they live? (Is it a safe place?) vax essentially lives out of his workshop within the sigma-5 prime division laboratory space which is Not a safe place no....... but he loves it... he technically has an apartment somewhere in soren draa that is as much of a junk pile as his workshop whoops (vax is very much a ‘i know where everything is in this chaos. don’t move it’ person...)

15) Where do they live? Are they wealthy? Poor? Middle-Class? i semi-answered this above but he has enough funding via the inquest to do his research projects as well as have a place for himself! i wouldn’t call him upper class probably just kinda middle ish, he keeps himself afloat alright

16) Do they have a lot of expectations/pressure on them from family to do great? despite vax’s attachment to akka’s work and vice versa, akka is a very chill guy who never expected vax to live up to it or anything like that.. he just thought it was great vax had the interest in it

17) Do they have pets? alas, no.... if he did i could see him owning smth more atypical like a ferret and fuck i kinda like that idea now i’ll have to meditate on it

18) Who do they look up to the most/are the closest to in their family? take one guess

19) This there anything special about their family? his dad being a renowned prosthetics doctors is pretty special yeah

20) Do they wish they lived in a different family/household? absolutely not

21) Best Friend(s)? alas vax is... very very much a lone wolf! this section is gonna be hard to answer and i’m probably gonna have to cross out some stuff because vax purposefully doesn’t really get close to anyone and he’s exceedingly unperturbed about this.. i meant it when i said he’s very self-driven! he’s not ultra egotistic and he doesn’t hate other people, nor is he unempathetic (i’d say he has a good degree of empathy actually), he’s just kind of... uninterested? he won’t hate you or be nasty to you for no reason, he’s just not interested in befriending/being around you as an aspect of his life

22) Who was their first friend? probably some of the other progeny tried to befriend him in precollege he he was Smart which is Cool but they quickly learned that vax’s idea of friendship is he will give you a quick synopsis of what he’s currently on and then go silent as he continues to work on it

23) What is their friend group like? there are a lot of inquest underlings who try to suck up to him because he’s their boss and also a shining star virtuoso with his work................. vax remains oblivious and unpeturbed

24) Do they have a love/hate relationship with any of them? yes. specifically plex. who is his best tech ops drone but plex is a... sort of pushy person wrt trying to Befriend vax and he has a very obvious crush on vax and vax is mostly oblivious to it but sometimes feels weird about plex’s sudden ‘random’ bursts of being super buddy-buddy with him. in plex’s defense a bit, plex doesn’t know how to interact with people either

25) Do they consider any of their friends to be like siblings?

26) Have they ever hurt a friend or lost one? he’s probably unintentionally driven off people by coming across as super cold... i think he feels bad if he accidentally upsets people with his demeanor but he’s not quite sure what to do about it bc he doesn’t really want to upset people but he also doesn’t want to force himself to be MegaFriendly anyway esp considering his trials with social interaction are kind of a hardwired brain thing (he’s got like... vague assorted ADHD-autistic spectrum traits)

27) Do they have a crush on any of their friends?

29) Whom do they go to the most when they need a shoulder to cry on? vax internalizes all his problems and works through them privately khgjdf he’s a weird mixture of stable and mature but sometimes unhealthy

30) What would this person do without their friends in their lives? [img of vax doing vague shrugging motions here] as aloof as he is he probably at the very least appreciates that other people have interest in his work! so would be a bit sad if he didn’t have that

31) What grade are they in? If they aren’t in school, how come? he has graduated college! he was top of the class his year at dynamics

32) Do/Did they like their teachers? Was there a good one? Bad one? i’m sure he’s had a Variety of teachers but most of his teachers probably liked him a good bit since he’s smart and yknow, Asura Be Like That... i’m sure he’s conversely had a few who butted heads with him over his philosophy on cybernetics because he has a much more open ended approach that’s a bit focused on the idea that prosthetics are body parts and people with prosthetics are Whole People not People With Additional Bits Slapped On/In and he’s very ginger with prosthetics/augments he handles and treats them like they’re the same as fleshy body parts and deserve the same delicate care despite being metal, and overall he has more of a focus on the actual people he’s working with i think, and i can see some more hardass/uptight teachers in particular not liking this because it’s kinda unasuran to more traditionalist types to have such a.. humane view on work rather than being enthused solely with your numbers and research results

33) Do/Did they listen to their teachers or are/where they goofing off a lot? vax is very headstrong and if you have useful advice then its useful advice but if you dont then fuck off and let him do his work how he’s determined to do it... he doesn’t goof off but he has no respect for authority if authority gives bad commentary

34) Are/Where they a good student grade wise? top marks except for in classes where he was abrasive with the teachers who’s work ethics clashed with his but what can you do

35) Do/Did they need extra help? nope... he probably ended up tutoring a few people actually (which probably was due to a nudge from a teacher and not.. vax’s sole volition of wanting to tutor people)

37) Do/Did they have bullies in school? i’m sure he Didn’t Get Along With some others bc he’s Weird

38) Have they ever gotten into a fight at school? yes he’s absolutely metaphorically gone for someone’s throat because they had the audacity to challenge him on something that they were both wrong about and not as passionate about as him

39) Have they ever done something stupid/embarrassing at school? i’m sure he has but i can’t rlly think of anything (boring answer srry)

40) How far do they plan to go with school? If they dropped out, do they want to go back?

Divorced? i already kinda answered this but he’s not partic romantically involved... however i think if he found someone he was In Sync With and who understood his mannerisms then he’d be very content with them... i think he would need a stable easygoing relationship based on shared interests and just casually fitting together and supporting each other rather than anything passionately heated or overly focused on traditional displays of affection

42) What is their favorite hobby? Do they keep it a secret? he’s a big nerd who collects various prosthetics/augment models and he absolutely doesn’t keep it a secret...................... 75% of the RP i’m in with him rn has been him geeking out over augs. the other 25% was me describing the facility.

43) If they could have one thing in life, what would it be? i think he’s more overall focused on the idea of a continuous stream of improvement over a few static goals? he’s constantly laying out new traintracks in front of himself to steam ahead on... he’d like to be happy and successful at what he does, ultimately, and really attain super advanced inventions

44) Do they work? If so, what is it? If not, are they looking for one or even want one? despite everything i’ve said here about him being a good empathetic guy, he is Inquest........ the inquest funds his research he does at their labs and they pay him for being the sigma-five supervisor

45) Do they use social media? i can’t see him using social media much tbh... he might be into podcasts and asuran youtube a bit

46) Have they ever been in the hospital? due to his strength issues and some stuff that happened as a very small child he has been quite a bit yes

47) Do they believe in the supernatural, that there is more than the eye can see? this is a weird question in the context of gw2 which has canon ghosts whoops.. im gonna interpret it as ‘are they superstitious’... vax isnt superstitious and i think he’d be very brave facing questionably supernatural forces but in a sort of logical way uh... he would Not be the first to die in a horror movie.... he’s a skeptic of non-scientific magic things with i think some lingering internal paranoia.. he’s a very logical person

48) What do they do when they get angry, stressed, or upset? broods in private probably....... depending on what he’s heated about he might go sit by himself for awhile or he’s gonna take his anger out while working on a project

49) Would they consider themselves as a good person, bad person, or morally grey? i think he tries to be a good person but he’s skeptical of that Status a lot and worries over it a good bit... again, typical inquest!

50) Does this OC have any part of you in them? (I.e, personality traits, similar background, etc) all of my ocs have parts of me in them to some degree, i think vax carries some things related to my disabilities, interpersonal and moralistic struggles, and the nerdy passion over my special interests

lets a go! when i started shipping it: i loved that dynamic they had early on in "happy death day". was a little disappointed when they didn't really have that many significant interactions after. maybe only properly considered it after finishing s2?

my thoughts: why can i come up with new aus and scenarios every day for this pairing but never be able to turn those ideas into fully fledged fics

what makes me happy about them: they've got an interesting spicey bickering dynamic that i'm always happy to think about

what makes me sad about them: it's a little sad that they've only found that partnership in each other so long after they've died. it's a little poignant that especially for cap he never got to live his truth while he was alive

things done in fanfic that annoys me: i'm not a fan of giving the captain a name in fic. i hc his name to be richard and any fic that has his name as something else is a little bit jarring when he's called that.

things i look for in fanfic: ghosts with benefits accidentally get feelings for each other and now they have to break it off oh no

who i'd be comfortable with them ending up with, if not for each other: cap with humphrey or fanny, julian with robin

hokay. wow. yikes. shit.

i kind of have quite a lot to say about this???

first, most importantly: if something i wrote made you feel belittled or erased or even mildly hurt, i'm sorry, 'cos that's never my intention and just no, not what i want to do.

but secondly: not that it matters, not that my opinion or personality or feelings even compare to those of all the lgbt people who've ever been subjugated or sidelined or attached, just because i selfishly want to type this and have it on my blog: i'm not homophobic. i don't care if you don't care. i don't have to explain, but i have really strong feelings about how wrong homophobia is (hint: your dad could fight my dad, but my dad could fuck your dad) and the idea i'd hate on non-straight people is, as this commenter suggests, sick.

soooo have i made a massive faux-pas in writing a fic where Mor, a canonically bi character, is in a relationship with two dudes?

quite possibly, and i'm open to that idea, but i'd like to explore a few thoughts around it below.

i read a shit ton of fanfiction for this fandom and lots of it is AU: fics set in the modern day, fics set in alternate Prythians, fics where characters change sexuality (or rather, go beyond the exact details we are given in canon - i love me some Feyrhysian but where in the books did we ever find it written down that these characters ever had same-sex relationships? and kinky Elain is growing in popularity, but that's a complete product of the fan community). so on the most basic level, i think it's OK to have some fics where Mor is in a relationship with a guy. i wrote the chapters of set theory 'cos until Mor's conversation with Feyre in ACOWAR, i imagined she and cas and az were all single because they couldn't choose between each other and in my fluff-ridden imagination i didn't want them to have to.

but i get that straight characters are massively over-represented and bi erasure is a genuine big deal, so i do appreciate that some (maybe many) people might find this insensitive. i think it would be more of an issue if i'd written ten fanfics featuring Mor and she was straight in all of them (just a heads up, i'm not sure how the cas x az part of cas x az x mor is homophobic - but hey) but that's not going to happen, because as i even wrote in the notes before the first chapter of set theory, i love that canon mor comes out to feyre, love that that's part of her character and her backstory and her reasons for escaping her marriage to eris, and have every intention of writing her that way in my more canon-oriented fics (without shoehorning her in, because that's an equal disservice to her character: "cassian pushed back nesta's hair and in the background MOR WAS THERE BEING REALLY BI WITH A LADY").

and that's it really. if people come back like, well, really, you are offending a LOT of people with your 6000 words of bi-mor-in-a-relationship-with-men, i'll happily take the whole thing down. i don't want to upset folks. but don't call me a homophobe, because that's fucked - and if you think my writing is homophobic, please educate me, by all means, because i'm open to learning. i'd fight for mor's rights in the real world (read: i HAVE stood up to homophobia in the real world) and i don't think i've done her a major disservice with an alternate universe fanfiction where she's not with a girl.

tl;dr - wrote a fanfiction where mor isn't in love with a woman, sorry if i offended, pls discuss.

p.s. although i am VERY KEEN to discuss any of this, please keep it civil? i.e. not in the literary style of the Ao3 comment above ;____;
