being the only fan of something is so great because i am the sole ruler of this kingdom. no one is around to tell me my headcanons suck or that all the characters are ooc
however it also sucks because i am the only fan. no one is around to support my headcanons or tell me they love my portrayal of the characters
#in a way i'm really glad there's no celceta fans. i don't think i could take meeting another person who knows the game#building your house out of donuts and all that#same with zestiria i'm very glad there's no one around to tell me how ooc sorey is in my mind palace or any of that#but god it would be nice to have a friend to bounce ideas off of once in a while. get some positive reinforcement in this echo chamber#of mine#altho the thing is i don't really have these kinds of elaborate aus and stories and headcanons for stuff with an actual fandom.#i love psychonauts with all my heart but the simple fact that there are other people who enjoy it just makes me feel shyer or smth#like i know that these people have played the games a million times more than i have and are a million times more obsessed with the charact#characters than i am so why should i bother developing my own headcanons abt these characters when there are people out there who do it muc#much better than i ever could. so why bother at all you know#that's why i tend to be a passive enjoyer of most things i care about on here#i'm not out here giving complex and unique takes on psychonauts or mario plots or characters#i'm just gonna enjoy what's presented to me by people who are cooler than me#and when i do have original thoughts it's only gonna be about stuff nobody else gives a flying fuck about. like tales or ys or tok#which is kind of sad! i'm not gonna lie!#but i guess i do this to myself huh. if i managed to find an ys fan they'd probably scare me out of my own theories#idk man. theres not really a solution is there#wyvern rambles

a lot of the anti-rent-control arguments I'm seeing in the notes include something along the line of "people who live in places that are rent-controlled never leave it, they stay there until they die, or else let their relatives live there instead" and it's like. yeah? they're not being pushed out of their homes to live on the streets? their relatives are not being made to live in their cars? not seeing the problem here
similarly to how my position on food over time has evolved to "any food that ends up in a human being's stomach is not wasted," I'm coming to believe that "any residence that an actual human being is living in is well occupied."
which, considering how many homes in california are standing empty, is a low bar that we are still not able to clear
Rent control is on the ballot for California voters this November.
I uh, get that tumblr isn't exactly sorted by geography, but this is a huge deal.
It's a huge deal even for people who don't expect to be personally affected by it -- rent control is a protection against the poorest people living in a city being forced out, and that's just bad for everyone. When you have a city where only medium well off to rich people live, you get their service employees coming in from a suburb an hour and a half away (blech) or else you get people stacked three to a room. Or people holding down a job or three while trying to earn enough to get off the street or, well, out of their parents' place or away from the abusive partner they can't afford to break up with. Point is, a lack of housing that people can just keep living in at the same price, means a lot of bad things for society, and we probably aren't going to socialize housing within the next ten years but maybe we can get rent control back.

Every time this post crosses my radar the thought occurs to me that I've never been able to quite articulate but like...
At some point in this web of goods and commerce, somebody needs to be able to buy a new mug.
We cannot have the entire population competing for the same pool of cheaper secondhand goods, because at some point that pool will dry up. Somebody has to be able to afford to support the creation of new goods.
Can we maybe also connect this with the other half of the goods production equation, i.e., all the artists and artisans saying that they are constantly struggling to get paid what their goods are actually worth in terms of materials and labor, because everybody is looking to pay rock bottom prices for everything.
If we want to support a pool of creators to be able to make art and crafts and new goods, then we have to have people who are able to pay full price for these things.
If, instead, we have a situation where only 1% of the population is ever able to buy things new, then goods-makers will constantly be clamoring to create more expensive and more unnecessary goods for them to purchase, while the other 99% of the population is fighting over the same pool of cheaper, deteriorating, second- and third-hand goods. Which is shrinking and not being replenished because nobody wants to bother making goods for this demographic because nobody's buying.
When I grow up I wanna be upper middle class.

How to Choose the Best Transportable Building for You
Transportable buildings are becoming increasingly popular for their versatility, affordability, and convenience. Whether you need extra office space, a temporary home, or a storage unit, a transportable building provides a flexible solution that can be easily relocated as needed. However, with various options available, choosing the best transportable building for your needs requires careful consideration. Here’s a guide to help you make the right choice.
1. Determine Your Purpose
The first step in selecting a transportable building & Mobile COVID Testing Units is to identify its primary purpose. Different buildings are designed for various uses, such as:
Office space – Ideal for businesses, construction sites, or home offices.
Living quarters – Suitable for temporary or permanent housing solutions.
Storage units – Great for securing equipment, tools, or personal belongings.
Workshops – Designed for those who need extra space for hobbies or small businesses.
Classrooms – Used for educational institutions needing additional learning spaces.
By understanding your specific needs, you can narrow down the best type of transportable building for your situation.
2. Consider the Size and Layout
Transportable buildings come in various sizes and layouts. It’s essential to evaluate the available space on your property and determine how much room you need inside the structure. Ask yourself:
How many rooms or sections do you need?
Will you require open space, partitions, or built-in furniture?
Is the available land sufficient for the building size you want?
Choosing the right dimensions ensures that the building fits well on your property and serves its purpose efficiently.
3. Select the Right Material
The material of your transportable building affects its durability, insulation, and maintenance requirements. Common materials include:
Steel – Strong, durable, and resistant to harsh weather conditions.
Wood – Provides a natural aesthetic and is often used for homes or offices.
Composite panels – Lightweight, insulated, and energy-efficient.
Aluminum – Rust-resistant and commonly used for temporary setups.
Each material has its pros and cons, so consider your climate, budget, and intended use when making a decision.
4. Look for Insulation and Climate Control
If you plan to use the building for living or working, insulation and climate control are crucial. Insulated transportable buildings help maintain comfortable indoor temperatures and reduce energy costs. Some important features to consider include:
Thermal insulation – Keeps heat inside during winter and out during summer.
Ventilation – Ensures proper airflow to prevent moisture buildup.
Heating and cooling options – Air conditioning and heating units improve comfort levels.
A well-insulated transportable building enhances usability in all seasons.
5. Check for Customization Options
Many transportable buildings can be customized to meet specific requirements. Depending on your needs, you may want to add features such as:
Extra windows or doors for better lighting and accessibility.
Electrical and plumbing installations for functional living or office spaces.
Shelving and storage solutions for better organization.
Exterior finishes to match existing structures on your property.
Customization ensures that the building aligns perfectly with your intended use.
6. Understand Local Regulations and Permits
Before purchasing or installing a transportable building, check with local authorities regarding zoning laws, permits, and building codes. Some areas have restrictions on the size, placement, and intended use of transportable structures. Ensuring compliance with regulations will help you avoid fines and legal issues.
7. Evaluate Your Budget
Transportable buildings are generally cost-effective, but prices vary based on size, material, and customization options. Establish a budget beforehand and compare different models to find the best value for your money. Don’t forget to factor in additional costs such as:
Site preparation and foundation work.
Transportation and installation fees.
Utility connections if needed.
Ongoing maintenance and repairs.
Having a clear budget ensures you choose a building that meets your needs without overspending.
8. Research Suppliers and Reviews
Selecting a reputable supplier is crucial to getting a high-quality transportable building. Read customer reviews, check for warranties, and ask about after-sales support. A reliable supplier will provide detailed information about materials, installation, and long-term durability, ensuring you make an informed purchase.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the best Transportable Building requires careful planning and consideration of various factors such as purpose, size, material, insulation, customization, regulations, budget, and supplier reputation. By taking the time to assess your needs and compare options, you can find a transportable building that perfectly fits your requirements. Whether for work, storage, or living, the right choice will provide a functional and comfortable space for years to come.
