The dichotomy of Brennan helping with ability score rolls for newer players:

Titan Takedown: Preps high-level base stats for the cast, with everyone having a 20 in their two most relevant ability scores and no one really having a genuine dump stat (no one's character has below a 14/+2 modifier in any ability), which allows the players to play to their class strengths and not have to worry about fucking up as much in a shorter, tighter campaign.

Fantasy High: Ally Beardsley rolls a 4 for Kristen's Dex and has to live with with the consequences of that for 6+ years

On an unrelated note, I've been checking out all the content about DA: Veilguard that is being released lately and I'm so excited!! Of course this is entirely subjective but to me It looks absolutely incredible!! The environments are jaw dropping, the character creator is amazing and the hair is probably the best I've ever seen!! the companions are so distinct and fun in their designs and I'm loving their stories from the glimpses we are getting. The combat I'm aware it's not everyone's cup of tea but I love it! I'm an action combat enjoyer and this looks so dynamic and flashy and fun. The main story seems to be everything I was hoping for ten years ago to such a ridiculous extent, for some reason I feel that the writers were reading every Solavellan fic out there all these years lmao. I'm in a permanent state of 'I can't believe they actually did that', it feels like they finally reached the full potential of the vision they had for this story and couldn't quite get there in Inquisition. The scale and visuals are insane and they held nothing back ahhhh I feel so catered to 😭

has anyone gotten the idea that odysseus' storyline in hades 2 is a depiction/exploration of trauma over his SA and how he's blaming himself for things that were out of his control? because that's the impression i'm getting from what i've seen. he talks about "goddesses" as his "greatest weakness" and that "he's not one to say no to them"...

when mel invites him to the bath, he brings up mortals having different standards for intimacy than gods and how it usually has a more romantic/sexual connotation. she then asks if he's uncomfortable and he has a startled reaction and brings up circe and calypso again (but never actually by name)

(this isn't ship/romance bait btw. odysseus knew mel as a kid and they're stated in-game to have a sibling/uncle-niece relationship)

also he grew apart from penelope after his return, but the game makes a point of showing that his love for penelope and telemachus is what drove him on at all so that element of his character isn't brought into question

I think that we should talk about how, in terms of the TFs, it's largely regarded in-universe as only semi-real, with people like Robin referring to the PC's TF, but random townies either ignoring it or using it mockingly against the PC.

We should also talk about how you, generally speaking, can't start with a TF, you can only really gain one. How being through hell in the town will change the PC on such a deep level that it either changes their entire chemical structure, or it forces them to believe that it has.

In this essay, I will explain how the PC is heavily implied to have a dissociative disorder wherein they believe themself to be either sub-human or beyond human standards so much so that it makes them believe that they are physically nonhuman-

I can’t stop thinking about how Trapp is playing Hunch.

Like his client asks him to find someone and he does. Job over. But instead of questioning Conrad, or trying to break down the mystery of it all, he’s more concerned with how everyone’s treating him. So, he gets in a fight with the owner of a speakeasy, tries to stop known mobsters, stands up to a literal murderer, all because he sees a kid and knows he can’t possibly deserve the treatment he’s getting. He isn’t getting paid to care about Conrad, or even really Imelda. And yet when they to go to the memory bank, Hunch immediately acts as a distraction, so Imelda can get what they need without anyone else getting hurt. Technically, their business is done, but he still makes himself the target rather than playing the part of the detective he is and potentially putting her in danger.

Curiosity doesn’t need to be kind, but he is. He’s kind because sometimes, being curious about other people, means trusting them before you have the proof that it’s the right choice.

HEY @wixenforever I COME BEARING HUMBLE GIFTS FOR TBOTL.

I've been frothing at the mouth since yesterday's fic update :) At every update of TBoTL, really. Speaking of which, I was feeling downright terrible right when you posted the new chapter, and it INSTANTLY rewired the chemicals in my brain. Thanks for that. Also: doodles!! I drew these a week ago but I wanted to clean them up and draw them better, but I thought why not post them anyway? I'll draw more. I will. I will because your story is stuck in my head. And the only way to get it out is drawing and drawing and drawing. Experience demands it.
