Straightforward Mitts by Mone Dräger, modified!

I made these with Dye Mad Yarns' Chester Sock base in Play for a Purpose (2023). The pattern linked above does not come with fingers, but a friend saw @ninalanfer's version modified to include half fingers and loved it. So, naturally, I had to Make These For Them :)

Huge shout-out to nina for generously linking me (an absolute finger-knitting noob) helpful patterns and notes for learning how to do fingers! It was super helpful and very appreciated, and now I feel Unstoppable!!

[ID : a chubby skywing dragon named Pyrite, who has yellowish-orange scales with a lighter yellow underbelly and dark freckles across her scales, resembling the inside of a peach. she has a crest of dark spines along the back of her neck and on the tip of her tail, antler-like horns, her body is dappled with scars, and she wears a cord around her neck like a choker. she is sitting down, facing towards the left, with her wings held open and an uncertain expression on her face. the background is a teal rectangle with white peach blossoms overlayed on top of it. #thinking a lawttt about how pyrite was described to be the same color as a peach a lot #the freckles as described in the id are supposed to make her look like the inside of a peach #she has scars all over her body bc she was enchanted to be really clumsy so i would imagine she would be constantly getting hurt by acciden #her feet [and other skywing feet] have a fifth toe on the back kinda like raptor claws that they use for balance and grabbing things #in winter turning the original pyrite[?] was described to have black eyes so i gave her really big pupils -#- that would probably make her eyes look black head-on #she has lil bear ears btw !! i think skywings and icewings have bear ears bc theyre smaller and wont get cold as easily . also theyre cute #i just thought the crest of spines would look cute but then i realized the resemblance to icewing spikes so i added them to the tail too #the antler horns looking like icewing reindeer horns also wasnt intentional i just wanted them to look unique -#- instead of the generic straight horns or curved i usually give skywings #i think she has quite a bit of icewing remnants left over despite the spell actually #like i would imagine her fire is weaker than the other skywings and would be a lot less hotter #she also instinctively isnt used to skywing proportions hence why shes sitting the way she is with her legs all weird and wings not closed #other than that shes rather boring and isnt very flamboyant bc i think scarlet would think she doesnt deserve it #i dont really have any other design notes everything was added last second or by complete accident gafksndkxk #I JUST REALIZED THE THUMB ON HER WING IS BACKWARDS . random but rewatched this tangled song to take notes on how to draw golden hair (for prince jesse ofc🤧) and it p much confirms what I thought before... the look of shininess is created when there's lots of contrast...

u can see in these stills her hair is not just a medium yellow/blonde the entire time but has (fairly big!) areas of dark brown as well as super bright highlights when in direct light... im gonna make a note to be more liberal with the darker sections when drawing golden blonde hair🤔 bc we(or at least I) normally just think of blonde hair as being yellow so we might not consider there to also be dark brown in it...

Starfalls

They are like falling stars for each other. Yes, they both fell, both are associated with stars (five-pointed, but still stars). But also...after the star falls, you make a wish. And they made a wish. The desire to hear each other’s heartbeat, to touch at least for another moment. And as with every desire, you have to pay a high price for it. Pain, nightmares, torture, ice – they went through all this to meet again.

I've noticed that I've never liked ship names that include two names together. There's almost always something that throws me off and sounds ridiculous at best. And when I am locked within four walls and I need to come to God, I have to come to something more so that I feel comfortable. And I did! Now for me Steve/Bucky are starfalls and you can’t imagine how much this has eased my fixation on the fandom. I finally feel connected to what I do...wow? Wow 🤝 Well, since the name is for my comfort, I automatically made their relationship platonic under this name. (But nevertheless, there is no headcanon on their orientation; I cannot describe their relationship for myself using labels. Although if I had to use them, then the aroace spectrum)

Yes, I thought it was important to outline all this. Now if you see a post with them on my blog and the word “starfalls”, then this is the name of this ship for me, yes.
