Today I had the pleasure of working alongside the lovely Claire Mazik at Purely Green Beauty & cruelty free/ clean makeup brand Jane Iredale in their beautiful UK Beauty Room for Indy Lifestyle.

We created a live video discussing how you can update your Spring 2018 look with natural makeup inspired by the current beauty trends! Incase you missed the live, fret not, you can still view it here. However, after so many questions about the face products we used and the positive feedback we got from the live, I thought I’d write a more in depth low down on some of the things we talked about - if you’d like to know more, keep reading!

Pink Eyeshadow isn’t everyones go to but it’s definitely worth trying out to switch things up. From romantic soft hues at Oscar De La Renta to more full on pop colours this is one way to shake up your makeup look. Pink is especially great at bringing out green and blue eyes. Lastly SS18 trends were dominated heavily by unusual eyeliner. Deconstructed, coloured graphic. From Green pops at Missoni to more tribal looks at Ulla Johnson, eyeliner is having a moment. Contour Kit in Warm & Cool

We featured these kits in the tutorial but I didn’t get a chance to say just how fantastic they are. They feature a blusher in the centre, a highlighter on the left and a cool or warm toned contour shade in the right (depending on which one you get). Ideal for giving cheekbones a lift in a really natural way. Trends are moving away from heavily contoured cheeks and into more fresh natural looks. My Current Skincare Routine untuk Kulit Berminyak dan Berjerawat

Well, I've been struggling with my skin. Karena sering baca review beauty blogger, sekarang saya ingin share "current skincare routine" versi saya sendiri. In case it can help you guys yang mungkin juga punya masalah sama.

Kondisi wajah saya ini super oily dan sensitif, jadi gampang sekali berjerawat. Sebelumnya beruntusan hampir di seluruh wajah dan jerawat sering muncul. Sekarang jerawat belum 100% hilang but it's way better than before. Sudah tidak beruntusan lagi dan jerawat muncul ketika lagi period.

Skincare goals menurut saya adalah mereka yang cocok di kulit, gampang ditemui, dan harganya terjangkau. Produk yang saya pakai sekarang gampang ditemui di drugstore dan supermarket dengan harga yang cukup terjangkau. Sekalian nanti saya review beberapa produknya (but not in the way beauty bloggers do).

Cleansing

Cleansing adalah tahap paling penting dalam skincare routine, terutama untuk jenis kulit seperti saya. Kurang bersih sedikit jerawat dan beruntusan sudah muncul dimana-mana. Membersihkan wajah pun ga cukup sekali saja pakai sabun karena ga akan mengangkat semua kotoran yang ada. That's why disini saya biasa pakai double cleansing method.

1. Viva Milk Cleanser & Toner

First cleansing saya menggunakan viva milk cleanser & toner dari viva. Varian yang saya gunakan adalah lemon. Cleanser dari viva ini sangat ringan sehingga cocok untuk kulit wajah saya.

2. Acnes Foaming Wash dan Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

Selanjutnya untuk second cleansing saya menggunakan facial wash dari beberapa produk yaitu acnes foaming wash dan cetaphil gentle cleanser. Ini sih yang paling susah dapetin yang cocok, entah sudah berapa kali saya ganti produk facial wash.

Acnes Foaming Wash

Berbeda dengan acnes creamy wash, ini yang botolnya pump. Di kemasannya tertulis hypoallergenic dan dermatologically tested, jadi cocok untuk kulit saya yang sensitif. Kalau di creamy wash ada kandungan vit E dan C, di foaming wash ini kandungannya full vit C jadi cocok untuk merawat kulit berjerawat. Ini facial wash paling enak sih, saya sudah repurchase berkali-kali, setelah pakai rasanya wajah bersih dan cerah, juga lumayan mengontrol minyak di wajah. Sadly produk ini susah banget ditemui akhir-akhir ini.

Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

Pertama kali pakai cetaphil beacuse I've been reading through some reviews, katanya cetaphil ini the queen for sensitive skin, ga cuma kulit sensitif, but for all skin types. Di kemasannya juga tertulis dermatologist recommended dan soap and fragrance free sehingga saya berpikiran positif kalau produk ini akan cocok dengan kulit wajah saya. Dan ya, cetaphil ini benar-benar gentle cleanser, rasanya lembut dan cukup melembabkan kulit, dan yang paling penting tidak membuat kulit saya breakout. Cetaphil ini hanya membersihkan, cocok untuk menetralkan kulit, apalagi setelah saya berhenti pakai krim dokter.

Facial Mask Routine

Saya suka sekali pakai masker. Dalam 1 minggu biasanya saya maskeran 2-3x. Ini adalah beberapa masker yang saya gunakan.

1. Himalaya Purifying Neem Mask

My all time favorit. Masker ini enak banget, saat dipakai awalnya ada tingling sensation tapi setelah beberapa saat udah ga kerasa lagi. Setelah dibilas rasanya kulit lembut dan bisa mengontrol minyak di wajah.

2. Shills Purifying Peel Off Black Mask

Masker peel off yang lumayan mengangkat blackheads and whiteheads, lumayan, jadi ga semuanya terangkat. Yang saya suka, setelah pakai, wajah terasa bersih dan sumbatan-sumbatan minyak terangkat. Ketika di peel-off rasanya biasa aja sih ga yang sakit-sakit banget.

3. Mustika Ratu Masker Bengkoang

Saya ga tau ini ngefenya di kulit saya bagaimana tapi masih sering saya pakai. Mungkin menyamarkan bekas jerawat dan mencerahkan.

4. Mustika Ratu Peeling Mundisari

Selain masker, saya juga pakai scrub dari mustika ratu peeling mundisari. Dalam satu minggu saya ga pernah absen karena menurut saya scrub ini cukup efektif untuk mengangkat sel-sel kulit mati.

Morning Routine

1. Cleansing

Membersihkan wajah dengan double cleansing method yang sudah saya tulis diatas, untuk facial wash nya biasanya saya gunakan bergantian antara acnes foaming wash dan cetaphil gentle cleanser.

2. Catrice Prime and Fine

Setelah wajah bersih, saya pakai primer dari catrice. Teksturnya gel. Sejauh ini saya suka pakai primer ini karena cukup membantu menahan minyak di wajah dan mengecilkan pori walaupun ga terlalu banyak. Dan ketika ditumpuk suncreen, bb cream atau foundation juga oke, ga cakey.

3. Skin Aqua UV Moisture Gel SPF 30

Sunscreen ini teksturnya gel, cocok untuk kulit wajah saya yang oily. Fragrance free, tidak lengket dan cepat menyerap ke kulit.

4. Skin Aqua BB Cream Perfect Matte

Coverage nya lumayan dan matte finish, sehingga bisa nahan minyak selama beberapa jam. Hasilnya juga natural dan ringan di kulit. Tapi saya ga selalu pakai bb cream, kadang takut jerawatan jadinya dilewatin. But so far selama saya pakai tidak menimbulkan jerawat baru.

4. Caring Colours UV White Microfine Loose Powder, MakeOver Silky Smooth Translucent Powder, dan Marcks' Beauty Powder

Balada wajah berminyak, kalau finishingnya ga pakai bedak rasanya ga enak. Saya selalu pakai bedak tabur, jadi bisa menyerap minyak berlebih di wajah saya. Kalau pakai bedak padat, selain takut hasilnya cakey, juga bisa menyumbat pori di wajah saya. Saya suka gantian pakai 3 bedak tabur tadi. Marcks biasanya saya pakai kalo lagi pengen yang ringan-ringan aja. Untuk caring atau makeover, dua duanya bagus but somehow saya lebih suka caring.

Night Routine

1. Cleansing

Double cleansing method as always. Ini memang yang paling wajib. Sekali lagi, step paling penting dalam merawat kulit rewel seperti saya adalah menjaga kebersihan wajah. Tapi kalau lagi super mager, saya langsung pakai cetaphil as a cleanser tanpa air. Ya cetaphil ini bisa diaplikasikan dengan atau tanpa air.

2. Vitacid 0.05%

Vitacid ini bisa jadi obat andalan saya ketika berjerawat. Awal-awal pakai dulu jerawat super parah dan beruntusan dimana-mana. Vitacid ini tretenoid dimana cara kerjanya dengan mengeluarkan semua jerawat yang ada, jadi jangan kaget kalau awal pemakaian akan mengalami purging, dan masa ini ga sebentar. Setelah beberapa bulan baru jerawat dan beruntusan mulai hilang dan it worked well on me. Tapi harus super sabar. Sekarang saya sudah jarang pakai, hanya ketika jerawat muncul saya totolkan di tempat jerawat saja.

3. Tender Care Protecting Balm

Bonus ya, out of skincare routine, saya selalu pakai lip balm ini sebelum tidur dan sebelum pakai lipstik. Untuk scrub bibir, biasanya saya buat campuran tender care ini dengan gula pasir. Dan kadang kalau kulit wajah saya super kering habis purging, saya oleskan di wajah juga.

Untuk saat ini skincare diatas adalah rangkaian yang saya pakai. Kadang masih gatel nyobain produk-produk lain terutama yang oil control nya benar-benar nampol. Sebelum mendapatkan serangkaian skincare diatas, I really struggled untuk lepas dari dua dokter dan krim-krimnya sampe nyobain berbagai produk skincare drugstore. So God bless you all yang punya kulit wajah normal dan cocok dengan skincare apapun. Karena untuk jenis kulit seperti kami, selain harus bertahan (dan bersabar) ketika wajah breakout, entah sudah berapa produk yang kami beli namun tidak terpakai karena bukannya membuat kondisi wajah membaik, justru memburuk. We've always tried to make things right but sometimes it didnt work. Memang nyari skincare itu sama kayak nyari jodoh, ga gampang buat dapetin yang cocok. Tapi ketika udah nemu yang cocok, that happiness is real. Semangat untuk para pejuang skincare, I'm with you. Dan lagi lagi, setiap orang memiliki jenis kulit yang berbeda-beda, cocok di saya belum tentu cocok di yang lain. Semoga bermanfaat.
