Togrutas' pigmentation
A random togruta headcanon I’ve been thinking about for a while and finally decided to write down!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The original and most common pigmentation combinations for togrutas are as follows:
Blue lekku and red skin
Light blue lekku and orange skin
Green lekku and yellow skin
Yellow lekku and brown skin
These were the only colours that the togrutas could have, and sometimes these combinations would mix, but in the end they were always the same 4 skin colours and the same 4 lekku colours.
These remain the most common combinations on the planet of Shili, but it is very common now to find togrutas with completely different colours from the originals ones around the galaxy.
These changes occurred thanks to the encounter with other alien species. It is in fact not uncommon for togrutas who do not live on Shili to have human, twi'lek, mirialian, pantoran or any near-human mammalian species as partners.
Togruta genes are very dominant, so the only difference the second parent's genes can bring is a change in the offspring's coloration. Precisely for this reason new combinations have begun to be exist, some examples:
Pink lekku and red skin
Blue lekku and purple skin
Yellow lekku and blue skin
Gray lekku and green skin
and many others.
As mentioned these combinations can be found around the galaxy, but they’re uncommon on Shili, where the main 4 combinations are still the most common, but the more new pigmentations can still be encountered in the larger cities.

i hope when veilguard comes out people will like... let people dissect it and be critical and very 'the curtains were blue symbolized xyz' and not get shitty about that way of engaging with things you enjoy and claiming that any negative opinion is 'fandom drama'.
like for sure if you don't like talking about that shit, great, don't engage, leave it alone. But the amount of times you'll be having a perfectly fun talk about biowares Unfortunate Implications because of their constant statement of real world parallels and inspirations and their handling of shit in game and how that unintended outcome effects their intended story or something and someone comes along and like fandom high horses about how it's not that deep let people enjoy things why are you being so negative whine whine bitch bitch about it is wild.
Let people engage with fandom however they enjoy. For some that will be Big Think. It will be analyzing shit, no matter their skill level at doing so, and digging into it. If that's not it for you, that's awesome! I'm sure most people like both at different times, different moods, different media properties. Sometimes you want to get in the fandom place and go 'i bet this blorbo would cry if their tamagotchi died' and other times you want to talk about the accidental 'colonialism is good' narrative in the scifi movie you just watched or how xyz thing is part of a larger character motif about 123.
Respect whatever the fuck fandom means to other people, and just don't engage with shit you don't want to. Either direction. Don't go on posts of people being silly goofy and happy and be a jag, don't go on posts being negative or critical about something and get mad about people being negative. Grow up. Move on. None of it matters.
#the more i like something the more i want to chew on it#the games i play the most are the ones i have the most opinions on same with books i love and films and tv shows#i have the most to say good and bad and will delight in sitting with a friendo#and ripping into bioware accidentially doing blood libel and shit like that#it doesn't take away from the game to me#and in fact adds to it cause it shows me other peoples approaches to the story and interpretations of it#and how our real world experiences flavor how we engage with and view these stories from the offset#not a da example but i remember a star wars fandom friend being the first person who pointed out the tusken raiders are indigenous populati#and their use in the earlier movies v much mirrored like western depictions of indigenous americans#its something other expanded universe stuff actively talked about#and i'd never noticed of thought about it cause i didn't really do legends era eu#that was a really interesting thing to think about and talk about#and htis was the same star wars fandom friend#who you could go to for 'i bet this alien species has a fucked up penis' talks#we came to the conclusion that duros - what cad bane is - probably had hemipenes cause they're reptilian#and they headcanoned togruta as having barbed cat dicks#i swear to god if people use this as an invitation to argue with me and prove my point#i will not be surprised but i sure will block them#ive just been seeing a WORRYING amount of that kinda more old school hyper positivity shit lately and it's... weird...#but i also imagine it's in part related to certain fandom cricles i've ended up falling into following and watching#and maybe less of a general trend#at least i ihope that's the case#i am so going to rethink this post and delete it or make it private in like an hour tops

Hot with brains
Tumblr media
•WARNINGS: SMUT.  Fingering (f receiving), oral fixation, dirty talk, praise kink and also degrading kink, corruption kink kinda??? Edging. Public space. The OC has a kink that attracts her to smart guys.
Pairing: ROTS!Anakin Skywalker x Female!reader.
Summary: Anakin falls for the librarian at the Jedi Temple, however, he soon realizes his adorable smile and golden curls won’t cut it with this one. No, she likes something different: brains.
Word count: 4.7K.
A/N: Pretty self-indulgent piece. I've been obsessed with Anakin's engineering brain ever since I got into Star Wars and this idea had be floating around for a whileeeee. Hope you all enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoyed writing it!
————————————————————————
You liked smart guys.
It wasn’t a kink per sé. You just couldn’t see yourself hooking up with someone with no brains, let alone establishing a committed relationship with them. You were swoon by guys with deep thoughts and admirable speech skills. The type of man that would go for a whisky instead of a beer, or use real shoes instead of plain sneakers.
You being a snob might have to do with your upbringing, after all you were the daughter of two scholars and professors of one of the most prestigious universities of Coruscant. You were raised to be logical and love intellectual conversations. You wouldn’t- No. You couldn’t see yourself enjoying a space with someone with a low IQ.
That was the reasoning behind taking the internship in the Jedi Temple’s library as part of your college voluntary program. You had to volunteer a certain amount of hours in order to graduate from your Journalism degree with honors.
You thought that even though this wasn’t exactly the area in which you were specializing, you would soak up some of the ancient knowledge of the Order, even make some great connections for the future. And so far it has been just that: A great experience. You got to read some really cool books and in the hours where no one would come, you got to finish some school work. The Jedi who would visit the library were nice and kind, always polite with a big smile. You even grew really fond of a young Togruta padawan that would spend her breaks in between training devouring books.
It was calm and quiet.
Until the storm broke through the door.
“Is this the one you’re looking for?” You yelled to Ahsoka as you climbed down the stairs with the title she asked for.
“Yes! Thank you, y/n!” She gave you a hug and ran to her table to start reading about the swamps in Dagobah.
You returned to your desk and kept registering the book’s codes into the control sheet when a loud sound made you look to the door, the one that was violently being thrown to open room for a tall, curly-haired man with dark robes.
You would recognize those robes anywhere. In reality, anyone from any point of the galaxy would recognize them.
Anakin Skywalker.
One of the few exceptions of Jedi men who didn’t live up to the sophisticated standard of the Order’s image. And definitely someone you would prefer to stay away from. For some reason he was the favorite warrior of the people; the citizens would line up in front of the Temple to scream “Hero with no fear” to that pretentious douchebag.
He was fine.
As what most people would call courageous, you would say careless. To others he was passionate, to you he was irrational. Not to mention how idiotic and unsubordinated he was; always talking back and doing things his way, ignoring what the guidelines said.
You didn’t like him. You didn’t like him at all. For that you were thankful that he never set foot into your sacred place. Until that doomed day.
“C’mon, Snips.” He shouted, approaching the desk where she sat. “We need to go. Council just called.”
“Can I have five more minutes? I’ve barely read anything about where we are going!” Ahsoka whined.
“You don’t need to read anything, we will find out anything that’s necessary there.” He huffed, finding his apprentice’s actions ridiculous.
You quietly sighed and rolled my eyes. Of course.
“Fine… but y/n really took her time fetching it for me.” She exhaled annoyed and closed the book.
Your eyes remained glued to your task at hand, not willing to look up and be involved in some type of pending argument.
“Who’s y/n?” Anakin scoffed rather loudly.
“Y/n! The volunteer?” Anakin frowned at the short explanation and shook his head in a negative motion. “You know, y/n! C’mon Skyguy, follow me.”
No, please no, you whispered to your insides.
“Hey, y/n!” You heard Ahsoka’s little footsteps running to where you were.
“What can I do for you, Soka?” You answered, still pretending that you were too busy to move your head from its position.
“Skyguy hasn’t met you. Here, Anakin, y/n. She helps us out here in the library.”
“Ahsoka, we’re not supposed to be having social meetings, we need to go-” You finally gazed up and in that moment, Anakin and you made eye contact for the first time; it was intense. It felt like something clicked for him. “You must be Y/n.” Anakin shook his head lightly, hinting a little smirk as leaned over your table with fixed eyes.
Hell, no.
“Yes, I am. How may I help you?” You were bitter, totally unbothered by his chiseled cheekbones, or his gorgeous hair, or his plumped lips. Not even the scar had any effect whatsoever. He was an ass and that was automatically a turn off for you.
“I’m sorry I haven’t met you. You must be new.” He explained with dreamy eyes, subtly checking you out. You cursed the moment you decided to come in today with a blouse who had a bit of a cleavage. “I’m Anakin. Anakin Skywalker.”
“Actually, I’ve been here for almost two months now.” You suppressed the soul-eating need to roll your eyes.
“Oh, really? Sorry, I don’t come here much.” He leaned over even more, trying to keep eye contact even when you sat down.
“Obviously.” You whispered on the low.
“Excuse me?” Anakin frowned, interrupting his beam to pout with confusion.
“Nothing.” You smiled widely with a fake grin.
“Okay…” His frown deepened before a smirk broke out his lips. “Maybe I will make it a habit and visit more often.” He shrugged his shoulders, tilting his head to the side, deciphering the effects of his statement on you.
“You should.” You looked at him and gave him a side-smile, making his eyes sparkle. “Books are good for you.” You returned to check the order of nabooian books on your computer.
“Yeah, books are cool but there are other things I would much rather check out.” He smirked shamelessly at you, the back-handed comment flying way over his head.
You felt like gagging. Not the good kind.
Before you could come up with a clever response and shut him down for good, Ahsoka spoke from behind him.
“Ugh, gross! Let’s go!” The kid dragged him out by his clothes and before he disappeared through the glass door, he winked at you.
That was the first time you have seen him. First of many, many more.
Since the day your paths crossed, he took every fleeting moment to come and “read”, when in reality it was just him eating, or drawing or doing anything but opening a book. Taking advantage of your breaks, or whenever you returned to your seat after doing rounds, he would come over and make conversation. About his battles, his accomplishments, his close-calls to death… or about random facts he collected from his missions and travels; Anything that would maybe impress you.
And when he wasn’t doing that? He would drown you in compliments, to see if in fact, you soften up to him. Anakin was already aware of your no-so-secret disgust towards him the day he caught one of your eye rolls.
Did he care? No.
He was persistent: admiring your hair, loving the way you had styled it in a little bun (even though it was because the heat was eating you alive). He would ask about the tasks you were performing, sucking at pretending to be interested in hearing about organizing books in alphabetical order.
And it would have maybe worked; his good looks combined to his natural charisma were enough to make any mortal melt at his sight. You almost combust when you saw him carrying some wood boards into the library, the primal part of you rejoicing at the sight of his strong muscles stretching. The man was eye candy, whether you like it or not.
But, boy, were you tough.
Anakin Skywalker was not your cup of tea to say the least. You wouldn’t collaborate in his attempts to get to know you. You were so uninterested in finding out more about him when you had already scanned him. Just a way-too-handsome-for-his-own-good guy who was lucky enough to be born as the Chosen One, because otherwise, he would have never made it in the Order. He was determined, you would give him that.
His approaches were never creepy or invasive enough to make you uncomfortable, only to drive you wild. Even when he was the worst part of your day, you had to keep the polite but distant charade going on, in order to protect your job. Your disgust towards him, instead of hurting him, amused him. He liked challenges and you were freaking Mission Impossible. Although he also saw the flaws in you: a pretentious prick girl who had probably achieved everything in her life thanks to nepotism. But he could see past that.
Because, boy, were you hot.
And he was sure you liked it nasty.
Underneath your goodie-two-shoes clothes hid the true you: he knew you loved being treated like a filthy slut.
“Hello, y/n!” Ahsoka squealed in an excited voice. You two have grown to adore each other.
“Hey, Soka!” You responded happily, finishing to put some encyclopedias on a shelf. When you turned around, you saw she wasn’t alone. “Oh… good afternoon, Anakin.”
“Nice to see you too, y/n.” Anakin huffed in a sarcastic voice before strolling to where you were, Ahsoka following close behind. “Is that a new shirt? It suits you.”
“No, it’s the same white button up shirt that I’ve always used.” You smiled and turned around to roll your eyes in peace. He was too busy devouring your bosom behind the fabric to ever notice the barrier between his eyes and your skin.
“Y/n, do you think you could grab me a book about loreeks? I’m doing a little presentation about them for my science class.” Ahsoka asked you with a sweet voice.
“Oh sure… just let me look oveeeer…” You walked, stretching the words as you searched in the countless sections. “...here. It must be on one of these shelves.” You announced when you entered the exotic animals aisle.
Digitating the code on your scanner you found out it was in one of the tallest shelves, only reachable with a ladder. Right when you were about to move it, Anakin came in.
“Don’t worry, Y/n. I’ll get it.” And he used the Force to bring the book down. “Here you go Snips, study hard.” He nudged her head, annoying her.
“Yeah, I guess… but it’s Friday. Can I read after I hang out with the other padawans? Barris and Meelo are going skating!” She gave her best puppy eyes, to which Anakin agreed, after giving it little to no thought.
“You didn’t have to give her the book, I could have done it.” You waited for Ahsoka to leave before dropping the bomb.
“Easy there, kitten. I was just helping out.” He furrowed his eyebrows. As if the unnecessary nickname wasn’t enough to drive you mad. Looking down, he saw the rest of your outfit and lingered his eyes more than necessary in your short, black skirt. “On second thought, I might have let you do it.” He smirked confidently.
“Just stay out of my way, okay?” You growled, walking away from him to your desk, not without bumping your shoulder with his on your way out.
“What the hell is your problem?” He asked with an incredulous face.
You were done. The build-up from the past month was beginning to choke down your sense of decency. Not to mention that your day was already going terrible before he appeared: the droid that would always help you out was broken, significantly delaying your work day. Also, it was laundry day and you had to use your uncomfortable lingerie.
“You know what, Skywalker?” You turned around with raised eyebrows. “You’re my problem.” He opened his eyes in bewilderment. “I don’t like you. I don’t appreciate you coming in, all macho-” You made a mocking manner. “-acting like a goddamn superhero, only after cleaning up the mess you created in the first place.” You crossed your arms in your chest.
“I’m a general, kitten, and I can assure you the war it’s not my fault.” He scoffed, he used the nickname again, knowing it would press your buttons.
“And how many times have you messed it up bigger than it was?” You squinted your eyes, only to see him run out of words. “That’s what I thought.” You came back to digitating codes. “It’s like you don’t think. You are just a machine run by adrenaline and praise.” You finally rolled your eyes in front of him without shame. You tried to run down the reports that C7, your assistant droid would do, only to fail and almost delete everything in your computer. “And I can assure you I have bigger problems than dealing with you!”
“Okay, back down-”
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” You yelled, getting desperate and throwing a tantrum at the device. You had enough for the day. You could leave, given that no one would come over this late, but your sense of responsibility prevented you from going home before finishing your work load. “I fucking hate this system!”
“Let me see-”
“Don’t! Just don’t, okay?” You swatted his hand away. “I’m not in the mood.”
“Could you stop being so stuck-up and let me help you?” He raised his voice, stepping up close to tower you. His eyes were on fire and you could sense that your previous comments did get to him, but for some reason outside of your understanding, he was still willing to help.
“Fine.” You chewed the words in your mouth, stepping down as you glared at him, giving him space to analyze the situation.
Instead of leaning down the computer, he went directly to C7, who lingered weakly on the side of your desk. He picked him up and put it on the table, moving him around his hands to examine the droid. He hummed after a couple of minutes, putting the mechanical body at eye level. “I see.”
“See what? What is it?” You pressed, trying to pick a glance from over his shoulder.
“I’m going to need my tools.” He murmured, dropping the droid back again.
“Wh-”
“I’ll be right back.” He exclaimed, before heading to the door in a rush.
“Wait! What?” You shouted, the shadow of his body the only thing visible.
You stayed alone for about fifteen minutes. You even got to thinking that he was pulling a prank on you, after yelling at him. But you stayed there, because well… what else would you do? You were beginning to fall asleep as you played with paper clips, when you heard the door being opened again.
“Finally! I thought you had left!” You sighed in relief, pushing your body off your desk.
“I was getting my tools, I told you.” He frowned, lifting the heavy, dark red box to the white marble. “Now let’s bring this one back to life.” He smiled, before busting the carcass open.
It took Anakin less than what you waited for him to get C7 up and running again. He flipped panels, snapped cables and pressed buttons, at an order that seemed random to you, until C7’s mechanical eyes opened again.
“Oh my God!” You laughed in disbelief. “He’s functioning again!”
Anakin smiled down at the table, as he finished up adjusting some screws. C7 sat up, analyzing his surroundings before getting up and going straight back to work.
“I-I-” You were speechless. How did he do that? So fast? “I can’t believe you just did that.” You mumbled, still looking at C7 like it was a ghost. “Thank you, Anakin.” You turned around with apologizing eyes, twitching an embarrassed smile.
“No problem. His transmitter was disconnected from the main system. I had to fix his-” The next couple of things that he mentioned sounded like pure gibberish to you, but he was very firm, so it must be true. Right? Sensing your bafflement, he spilled facts slower and quieter until he stopped talking, finalizing with a dry smile. “Yeah, it was nothing.”
He was starting to pack everything in his toolbox again and you had a pending need to say something. However, you didn’t know if you should kick off with a real apology or-
“How did you know all that?” So a pop quiz it was. In your defense, you were genuinely curious about the abilities he had just demonstrated. Mindblown, to be more specific.
“About what?” He furrowed his brows, closing the box but leaving on the table.
“About the transmitter, and the restraining bolt, and- and-” You were running out of technical terms.
“Mechanics are second nature to me at this point.” He shrugged his shoulders, picking up the box. “I know everything about the topic, so, it was an easy fix. I’d have rearranged his central system if I had the missing part, but it’s very specific. What I did will do for now, though.”
He was about to leave when he noticed the way you were leaning on the table, head on top of your fist to pay close attention to him. You were murmuring almost unhearable “uh-huh”s, totally lost in his words.
“Sooo, you know mechanics.” You were such a hypocrite, you couldn’t stand the man fifteen minutes ago and now you were drooling over the sight of him explaining complicated shit to you. Snob. “You often fix things?” You tried to investigate, see if the throbbing happening between your legs was worth pursuing.
“Sometimes… I often go to the hangar and repair the damaged ships or flip them.” He grinned without teeth. “The techs often ask for me. They say I have an eye for these things. Been working on droids since I was a kid, so.” Anakin wasn’t trying to brag, but his ample knowledge in mechanics was something that he prided himself on.
“That seems like a lot of work.” You continued the small talk, slowly losing yourself over this spontaneous crush.
“It can get tricky.” He dismissed, beginning to notice the glint on your eyes. He recognized the way your irises had darkened: He got those fuck-me eyes wherever he went. “Still haven’t found something I can’t fix.”
But it was involuntary. The fact that he was an expert on a matter as hard as mechanics scratched a part of your brain; It flipped a switch inside of you. Anakin was a different man under your eyes now. He was smart, hella smart.
“Gosh, that’s so impressive.” You giggled like the girls that would flirt at him. Pathetic. But you quickly regained control, not before sucking up some courage and getting closer to him, posing more seductively this time. “That brain of yours sure hides lots of secrets.”
He hadn’t quite figured out why the change of heart, so it took him a moment to replay your evening together. It lasted a bit more than he liked to admit, but it hit him. Of course. An arrogant smile cracked his face. Of course you would be attracted to someone who was a master of something you consider relevant. After all, you liked to consider yourself an “intellectual”. Just to test his theory, he consciously started to brag about something else… something that would have your panties in a bunch if his hypothesis was correct.
“Wanna know another one?” He cocked an eyebrow, resting his elbow on the table to stand inches away from your face.
Your face shined with a slight pink blush, but it was the way you bit your lip that drove him crazy. That and your enthusiastic nod. “Yeah.”
“There’s a reason behind why I’m the best pilot of the fleet. And it’s not just because of my background as a pod racer or the Force.” He whispered, snickering at how soft your eyes had grown. “It’s actually because… I use physics.”
“Physics?” You almost moaned.
“Yeah, physics.” He repeated, moistening his lips, a thing your eyes followed. “Self-taught, just like with mechanics.”
That ripped a subtle whimper out of you. Well, not subtle to him.
“You-you understand math?” If it wasn’t because you were visibly squeezing your thighs at the newly acquired information, he would be completely offended that you thought he was dumb as fuck.
“Love em.” He muttered, his intense stare glued to you, as his fingers put a string of hair behind your ear.
Like thunder, you were rushing to capture his lips and show him just how hot you thought he was now. Anakin freezed at first, taking aback by your sudden demonstration of affection, but when he understood that you were willingly -and enthusiastically- giving yourself to him, he wasted no time to embrace you back.
Wet kisses splashed everywhere; it was fucking mess. You hung onto his shoulders while he groped all of your body, starting with your sweet hips, fondling your ass like it was his personal stress ball and finally landing on your waist. You pressed against him shamelessly, but in reality, how much shame could you still have when the man’s tongue was down your throat? The only thing you knew with certainty was that the sucking sounds and moans you both dropped were intensifying the already sex-filled atmosphere.
“Anakin.” You tried to sound normal, but your voice was failing just like your knees were. “W-why haven’t you gone to a proper school? Maybe get a degree?”
Was that seriously so important to you? The opinion of others? Anakin questioned in his own head.
Anakin was the kind of person that wasn’t susceptible to the opinion of others, especially regarding his own image. He was sure of the shit he knew and didn’t need anyone validating that for him. No expensive universities, no uptight professors; Obi-Wan was more than enough. Nonetheless, he had found a shortcut to get inside your pants and God as his witness, he was gonna use it.
“Y/n.” He snickered right in your face, drinking in the power. “I don’t care about any of that. I'm a certified engineer, that’s how I got to build this myself.” Removing the leather, he revealed his mechanical limb to you, wiggling his fingers.
It was fancier than you ever thought a mechanical hand could be. Black with touches of gold; it was elegant and sophisticated, way more advanced than any technology you had ever seen in the orthopedics research field. And you knew it well, your mom was an orthopedic surgeon.
It was no surprise to him that after spilling that last fact you were now shamelessly grinding on his half-hard. The fact that he was an engineering mastermind was such an aphrodisiac. And as much as he wanted to have another taste of your full, pink lips, the ones he often imagined enveloped around his dick while you scolded him, Anakin wasn’t willing to make the first move.
You were going to have to beg for it.
“Anakin?” Your hands flattened on his pecs, back arching when he cupped your cheek with the cool durasteel prosthetic, kneading against it with soft eyes. He must have noticed how captivated you were by his invention.
“Yeah, baby?” He continued the soft ministrations up and down your cheek, redirecting your gaze to his face whenever your eyes would deviate to his artificial limb.
“You- Uhm, you built it from scratch?” You gulped when his thumb inched closer to your mouth, rubbing your bottom lip and pulling it open.
Little obedient you put no resistance, and instead, stuck out your wet tongue to happily receive his digit into your warmness. But this time it was his index, the one you were bobbing your head into, eye contact not faltering even when you were practically giving oral to his hand. Anakin smiled pleased at your enthusiasm for pleasuring him and added another finger for you to lubricate.
“From scratch.” He nodded, lustful irises boring into you. “Designed it too.”
You moaned around him, feeling content with being sandwiched between his firm torso and your desk, and with your mouth being fucked by his fingers. Saliva smeared all over your chin, you whined pitifully when your lips were no longer stuffed. On the contrary of leaving you all hot and bothered, Anakin lowered those same fingers to your leaky cunt, pushing your underwear aside for easy access.
He groaned when he first inserted a finger, your gasping a sign for him to slow down. “Baby, you’re tight.” He seemed to love that about you.
After adjusting to the size of his strong index finger, Anakin breached in with his middle one, repeating the process of you getting used to the coldness and girth all over.
“A-Anakin.” You closed your eyes, involuntarily standing on your tippy toes.
“That’s right, you’re doing so well. Taking my fingers like a true champ.” He bit down a condescending smile. “Atta girl.”
The initial discomfort was just a milestone you had to overcome to succumb to the pleasure that it was being fucked by Anakin Skywalker’s metal hand. His frigid thumb came to roll over your bundle of nerves, helping you relax into him and enjoy the sensation of fully riding his hand.
“That’s it. Fuck my hand just like that, kitten.” He chuckled, finding a spot on your neck to latch on, leave a little souvenir of your encounter, and hide his pitiful laugh.
Kisses were peppered along your exposed throat, your clavicle and jaw, his long eyelashes tickling you and making you clench around his metal hand tighter. Whilst you worried about not whining too loud for anyone to enter the library, Anakin was pumping his fingers at such an unholy pace to complicate your task.
“Shhh, baby. You need to be quiet. Wouldn’t like for anyone to come in. You could lose your job.” He mocked with a side smile and you had to gripped his bicep to keep your balance. “Could you imagine? Getting caught having sex at work? With a Jedi?”
You could perceive that the trespassing of the pseudo-celibacy Jedi code was turning him to no end, the mischievous glimmer in his eyes getting stronger when he said the last sentence.
“W-We’re not having sex.” You corrected him, like it mattered. Like having him knuckles deep into you was somehow less frowned-upon than to have actual coitus.
That made him laugh and you wiggled underneath him, fighting to not let your tears fall.
“You just wait.” His lips ghosted over yours, his breath fanning over your heated face. The increase of the movements of his hand was a sign that he had noticed the contractions around his digits, fully aware that you were close. “Ready to come, baby? Gonna gush all over me?”
You nodded, biting your swollen lip, losing the battle against your tear duct. Anakin used his other thumb, the one that was not torturing your clit, to liberate your abused lip. His mouth lowered to capture yours in a hot kiss, this tongue sliding on your inside until it hit your throat. So deep into you that you would never forget his taste; so deep you will never be able to deny him.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” You whimpered against his smile when you reached your peak, dissolving into this meaningless mass between his arms. “Anakin…” You rode out your climax, still rocking your hips to prolong the pleasure.
Anakin waited until you regained some composure to help you fix your clothes, putting back your underwear as he found it and lowering your skirt. His actions had you frowning: Weren’t you two gonna fuck? You were already mentally prepared to welcome his enormous cock in your tiny canal.
He grinned at your puppy eyes and adorable pout, your flustered state funnier than it should be. It was almost enough to break him. But someone had to give you a lesson.
“At the end of the day, I’m just a soldier, Y/n. An incompetent one, according to you.”
Before you could protest that, he was tilting his head in an accusatory manner. Like saying: Don’t even try it. And before leaving with his head high, he spat:
“My apologies if that’s not fancy enough for you, ma’am.”

Behold.
@agentartemus 's girlfriend. And the girlfriend's boyfriend too ig.
Mini bios and some notes below the cut:
Oyam'sava Ket, more commongly known as Sava, was born and raised on Coruscant. She took up her mother's job as a trustworthy mercenary for the Titan Corps, a group of private contractors often hired by large entities for a number of jobs. She has a much younger sister who still lives with their father on Coruscant. Oyam'sava hopes to earn enough money to move her family up to the higher levels. She has a collection of droids ranging from tiny toy-like drones to a work in progress reprogrammed B1, all of which Kamsheed begrudgingly tolerates for her sake. She also has too many clothes for what her lifestyle requires, but that's not about to stop her. She has at least four knives on her person at all times.
Kamsheed Hizua operates under the codename "Daubhat", a togruti expression for a physically small hunter. He'd been called this often when he was younger, having gotten a growthspurt much later than his peers and yet still being concidered shorter than the average togruta of his village. He grew up on Shilli and finds the much more populated core-worlds overwhelming and kind of gross. He tries to visit his family as often as he can, but due to an unpredictable and busy job, he rarely can. At least he has Sava and his rapidly growing number of friends to keep him company. He's a fearsome fighter, although he has the bad habit of just tackling people instead of actually using hand to hand skills. He makes up for it with great aim.
Assume any fashion decision Sava makes is Rhea Ripley coded unless it involves the colour gold and the usual Star Wars women's clothing elements. She would probably be really into Stevie Nicks and The Runaways, though she would also know every word of Rihanna and Lady Gaga's discographies. Overall just a big woman music enjoyer. Her favourite colour is orange but she never wears it because it clashes with her skin.
Kam's a complete biker/gym guy through and through. All of the references I used for the posing are just pictures of Kim Mingyu of Seventeen, because I love Seventeen, and I love Kim Mingyu. He listens to whatever Oyam'sava listens to but he WILL try to suggest any type of space-equivalent dad rock that he can come up with. Would get VERY emotional when any Queen song plays. Hates Jizz and Debstup music and it's part of why he doesn't go to clubs unless he absolutely has to for some reason. He is malewife.

Cody's Little Sister
“It’s really quiet huh?”
Cody may have been tempted to keep his eyes closed longer, but he could already hear Rex begging Cody to answer his honorary little sister with something comforting. Anything really.
“Probably more the lack of people being shot than actual quiet.”
Well. Maybe anything but that.
But Ahsoka offered up a morbid laugh anyhow. And Cody decided she had been fighting too long.
Currently, the two were a bit… lost. Though not of their own accord. The planet was mostly marsh, temperate and soggy, and though they had come prepared for that there was no preparing for a section of a natural water dam to be destroyed and flood their forward route. Thankfully Cody was pretty sure most everyone was out of the direct path of the flood, but oh so lucky for Ahsoka, she had been in the middle of the river crossing. Cody, a few feet behind her, cursed Jedi and their non-armor-wearing ways as he leaped forward. The wave hit him hard enough that truthfully he only remembered dark and choking until he was coughing up slime on their island. Everything to communicate had been damaged by the sediment, and Ahsoka was currently tinkering at Cody’s helmet to give them a chance.
“How far do you think we went?”
Cody took another careful breath, chest aching horribly. But a bit more determined this time to be encouraging he started mapping the stars that had come out. “Based on where the sun is setting and what I remember of the briefing, we probably made it a few clicks down The Serpent's Back. Surprised we didn’t drown truthfully.”
He really is trying. Seriously, Rex, it’s hard when everything is always getting worse by the minute.
“Thanks for the credit,” Ahsoka sniffed. “That armor doesn’t make you any lighter you know.”
Ok, now Cody’s eyes were open. “You pulled me out with you?”
Ahsoka glared at him a bit, as if what he said was absurd. “Of course. I wasn’t going to let you drown.” Then in the fading light, Cody caught something much sadder in her eyes. “And don’t think I didn’t notice you protecting me from the water and trees in the first place. It isn’t at all your job to protect me, but you did it anyway.”
Cody swallowed. He may be out of his depth but even he could very much tell that ‘your life is more important than mine because I’m replaceable property’ was not the right follow-up here. So he went with something more honest, the white and blue of her montrals making it a bit easier. “Any time Commander.”
Ahsoka chuckled a bit again. “And same for you, Commander.”
The silence that fell now didn’t feel nearly as awkward as Cody had expected. He was propped against a low tree comfortably enough. The moss made it just about as lovely as those new pods the Kaminoans were putting cadets in. Ashoka didn’t seem to mind either, sitting a few feet away to try and get the last rays of light to work by.
It was when they were finally without almost any light source that Cody became overly paranoid again. Any small noise and he was tending for some separatist gang or some Togruta-eating beast to come barreling down on them. It also didn’t help that his chest twinged every time he shifted, and Ahsoka was better at reading people than he thought.
“Here,” she whispered as the nightlife began making odd noises. The familiar noise of a lightsaber soon drowned them out and their little island was lit in its eerie green glow.
Cody was about to thank her when the light flashed across something moving through the water behind Ahsoka. It moved slowly but purposefully, turning as if it could see-
“Turn it off!” Cody hissed as loud as he dared.
The lightsaber winked out and Cody had no time to even ponder whether the creature could hunt some other way before Ahsoka's trembling voice cut him off.
“I’m sorry, I-I thought it would help you relax.”
Cody couldn’t help in the slightest. “No, I’m sorry to snap that way Commander. I just think, as nice as the light is, it makes us a rather large target.”
Ahsoka nodded, giving one last look at the fading helmet and then curling in on herself. Again they fell to silence, the sound of water moving now making Cody even jumpier. The fog and pain in his head weren’t helping either. He had to focus on something else.
“Do you… mind me talking with you?” Cody asked in a slight whisper. “Would help me keep my head clear.”
He managed to make out Ahsoka turning to look at him (really, was this planet one big fresher bowl because of its weak ass moon?), though he wasn’t quite expecting the surprise. “Are you asking for… permission to talk to me? In order to help you?”
“Sorry Commander,” he answered in reflex. “I won’t-“
“Stop, Cody,” Ahsoka now sounded even more upset and Cody was sure Rex was somehow glaring at him. “You don’t have to ask. I know we aren’t alone like this, ever, but nobody needs permission to talk to me. Especially not you, or Rex, or any of you. Unless you’d like me to ask permission to speak?”
“No,” Cody answered immediately, though his mind was still processing her words. “No, never.”
Ahsoka has a small smile, even though she figured Cody couldn’t see it. “Then I suppose we don’t have much else to do until master Obi-Wan finds us.”
Cody took another pained breath. “Shouldn’t be long. I imagine General Skywalker is having a fit about him losing you.”
Finally, Ahsoka gave him a quiet laugh. Small victories. “They both worry too much. You had everything under control.”
“Yeah well, someone should remind them of that next time they decide to test how flightless humans are.”
That laugh felt more genuine, and Cody relaxed just a tad more. “I’ll try to remember, but I can’t promise I won’t be doing it too.”
“Oh, you will be,” Cody grunted. “Rex too, the di’kut.”
“What’s that mean anyway?”
Cody hadn’t even realized he had his eyes closed. Blinking he shifted slowly against the tree to wake himself a bit more. “Someone who forgets to put their pants on.”
Ahsoka’s quiet laughter did a better job than the moving. She covered her mouth to stifle the sound but Cody felt his spirits lift regardless. “You two sound much closer than Captain and Commander,” she said, though with a hint of something that made Cody suspect she knew the answer.
Yet, Cody oddly enough found himself smiling as he answered. “Yeah, you could say that. I’ve known Rex since he was a little shit. And now he’s a big shit, but he’s still my little brother.”
Ahsoka laid her head on her arms, crossed on her pulled-up knees. “You sound just like Master Obi-Wan and Anakin. Maybe that’s why our battalions work so well.”
“Because the general and I are both calling your battalion idiots?”
“I’d think I could earn a little more faith,” Ahsoka smiled. “But no. I think it’s more because you both say it out of love for your little brothers. You understand something more about each other, just like Anakin and Rex can.”
Cody knew it had been a while since he last laughed, and even though it was quiet, he found it quite nice. “Yeah,” he whispered. “Yeah, maybe you’re right.”
“I usually am, but no one listens to me either. Especially Skyguy when he’s flying.”
They were now both laughing, the soft noises blending into the living environment around them. For how much pain he was in, and the fact it was becoming quite cold, Cody found this was a vacation compared to his normal life. “You’re just like them.”
“Who?”
Cody hadn’t realized he said it out loud, but he wasn’t feeling as reserved as usual. “Rex. And General Skywalker. You’re probably all feeding off each other’s crazy. Whoever partnered you all up must have been just as nuts.”
Ashoka snickered again. “Well I think it was Obi-Wan, so don’t think you're oh-so-good Mr. 212th.”
The sentence was suddenly so informal Cody had to cough another laugh. “If anything that just proves I’m the only one with sense!”
“Didn’t you break a foot once kicking a droid?”
“Details.”
Ashoka was now burying her face to try and be quiet. “No, you’re one of us. Disaster lineage is what Master Windu says.“
“Pft,” Cody started to shake his head before it spun and he stopped. “Rex and my batch mates would probably agree, even though they’re just as bad.”
“Batch mates?”
“Like, well, brothers,” Cody chewed his lip. “Closer than the overall vod though. More like a nat-born sibling. Decanted together and then trained from day one together.”
“Oh! I think I know what you mean,” Ahsoka said. “Some of us Padawan are much closer than others. I guess we aren’t that different, brought to the temple really young and then growing up together.”
“Heh, yeah, and look at us now,” Cody chuffed. “Practically twins.”
Ahsoka's laugh was softer this time, and Cody could just make her out as she began to shiver badly. Kriff, he had his armor and thermals, and even soaking wet he hadn’t realized he was probably much better off than Ahsoka with the chill. She looked like a shiny, trying to hold everything together. Cody then found himself leaning forward despite the pain, undoing the clasps on his armor.
“What are you doing?” Ahsoka was now all concerned. “Is something wrong? Is your chest getting worse? Are you-“
“I’m fine Commander,” Cody halted her panic. “You made sure of that. Just thought it’d be warmer without some of the armor.” Finally, he had managed to undo the breastplate and plied it and the plackart to the side. He then tapped the mossy ground and raised his arm, careful to hide as much pain as possible. “You’re not going to survive all of this only to die of a cold on my watch.”
Ahsoka barely even hesitated, which surprised Cody some. But as she curled carefully into his side he figured Rex called her little sister for a reason. And soon enough the shivering stopped and Cody found the contact quite comforting, as much as he thought it was gonna be awkward.
“He told me I could go to you.”
Kriff, he had to stop closing his eyes. “Huh?” Yeah, he must be concussed.
“Rex,” Ahsoka spoke a bit clearer. “He found me once crying in a supply closet. I didn’t want any of the men to see. I’m supposed to be a Jedi, supposed to be able to lead them. But when Rex found me I couldn’t even try to fake it.”
Cody found himself thrown suddenly back into his memories, the moment he found Rex, hiding and crying. It was like some odd twist of fate, to be hearing this. And it only stung him more as Ahsoka continued.
“He helped me. Told me if no one else he’d be there when I needed him. And then he promised me that if he couldn’t be there,” her breath caught a bit, the unsaid being heard clearly. “Then you’d be there. If I couldn’t find anyone else, I should find you. And I guess I just accepted it was the same as with any of you. But Anakin once said something similar about Obi-Wan, and you never even hesitated to protect me today. So now I get it,” Cody didn’t even feel any pain as her montrals pressed against his side. “You’re my big brother too.”
Cody wasn’t lucky. No, luck wasn’t on the side of any clone. There was only training and fighting and suffering tooth and nail for one more day of miserable existence. And yet, here he was, thinking fond memories of a small blond mischief maker and how a family really was made, not born. After everything that had happened to them all, he was here now, doing what he actually did best: being a big brother.
And when the entire sky suddenly lit up in dancing green and blue lights, he figured he should rethink the miserable existence part of his thoughts.
“What is that?” Ahsoka gasped, mesmerized as the lights started changing colors, purples and reds shooting through like tendrils. Everything around them was bathed in it, and Cody couldn’t help a breath of relief as it revealed familiar white and gold armor and a very scared-looking master Jedi a few dozen yards down the river.
“I’d say hope,” he answered. “but I’m not quite that concussed.”
Ahsoka's laughter rang a bit different now, and her smile was definitely brighter as she too caught sight of Obi-Wan and started waving. Rex was right. Cody would be there whenever she needed him, they both would.
That’s what big brothers are for.

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM
🎉New OC just dropped🎉
Tumblr media
this here. this here is my first somehow finished (bc we know art is never finished) piece in YEARS (around 2). it took me about 8 hours:) becouse I lost my skill.
Let me introduce you to Tala Termoon.
she's a Togruta as you can see (guess what's our favourite species), and she's about 56 years old here.
In my head she works as an assistant for Cody. I am aware this kind of job doesn't exist in star wars, but in my opinion it's a crime how few women work in the GAR, so I'm here to fix that (there is like 5 other oc in my head that work in the army).
Tala is here to help, she is always a step behind Cody. she knows when he has his appointments, she's organising reports, picking up comms and keeping him sane (it's not a one person job, she and Rex take turns). She's incredibly proffesional, that stick up her ass is not only stiff but also tucked really deep. AND she doesn't like Cody (try me. it's my oc).
Cody on the other hand does everything to get her to like him. this man brings her flowers and chocolates on every occasion he can. tried inviting her with Rex to a little Jazz bar (not 79's, pls, that's a classy woman), but nothing works. Eventually shit hits the fan and he fires her :).
But I gotta explain her personality a bit. She's not a bitch. She worked hard her whole life to get a job in the army, in the institution led by men. it's not that she doesn't like Cody becouse she thinks he's annoying or sth like that. she has a hard time accepting him trying to bond with her becouse in her mind, creating a something of a personal relationship with her boss is not only unprofessional, but can get her fired (ooh look how the tables turned). Beside all that she's a lovely person, very loyal and helpfull.
Good night Vietnam.

DEAR @stridesthroughashes SORRY IVE DELETED ASK ON UR QUESTION ACCIDENTALLY, BUT THANKS FOR ASKING
LORE POST about ai'shyat and zeema
Tumblr media
by this time i have a two active characters: this is ai'shyat(left) and zeema(right)
they met, when shyat was in 17-19 and zeema in 40-50 in some planet where zeema had current 'hometown'.
they met in ±10 years before clone wars
the main intention of these two is discovering the galaxy
for shyat is about knowing her ancestors and history(thats why he wear very 'unfashion' and 'old' clothes), bc she was cut of it since the babyhood and rogue one in different togrutas communities. and for zeema is desire to looking for something new: in cook(as main), fashion, history, anything. he hunting for all that can brings him joy and interest.
and theres the case why he agreed shyats for traveling with him, after she loses all her shit, ship and those few things she had.
the main problem that shyat's from very small and closed togruta species, that wasnt popular in republic in any way. this makes her searches about her culture harder and more difficult. but more interesting for zeema, who doesn't belong to any by his problems of discrepancy to nautos and zabraks. that was cutted him from people at a young age too, but also made him seeker for anything that could be good for him from differents cultures.
they dont really love each other bc shyat thinks he's a jerk that is disrespectful to his ancestors and doesnt care about matching to his parent's cultures. zeema thinks she's a stupid kid, who doesnt know about life, but as him, she really loves history and learning something. so, until they dont argue about principles, they are a good interlocutors to both
their traveling ended after zeema helps shyat to find anything about her cultures and learning her 'mother' language. they have a lot of happy feels and memories about each other and think about themself as parent+child.
about designs
ive made shyats based on my own story of not knowing anything about my another 'half', so shes basically just the case for learning something new and what could belong to me too. thats why she has the circassian and turk themes as mains in her design and transforms through the time and as ive learning the things. she also matching the parts of clothes: the women and men dressings, the warrior and dancer, bc she actually doesnt know of their meaning, a long time she has too little information to wear by traditionals. she also will change the name i havent picked yet
the zeema is on the contrary in this case. he hasnt any 'markeble' things in design, bc he doesnt belong to any and even doesnt strive to match any. but still some kind of the keeper cultures bc of his love to learn something new and interesing.

Yhe'na Det Och'sa Chapter 7: Mi K’ya Ke Omaki
Summary:
"Would you die for me?"
"No. I would live for you."
Golly Gee Willikers, guys, it's been a minute. I have been Going Through It™ these last few months, but thanks to our wonderful and amazing Gabi ( @somewillwin) and all my lovely internet people in the Shin Tano discord, I've finally managed to get some time to work on another chapter! There's still so much more to go, and so much more to cover, so sit tight, and please continue having patience with me through these next few months especially.   Shin is also going through it... and Ahsoka,,, and- yeah, everyone is going through it. and don't forget! ALL ART USED IN THIS SERIES AND CHAPTER IS BY SOMEWILLWIN ON TUMBLR/TWITTER | SOMEWILLLOSE ON INSTAGRAM. Make sure we give credit where it is due, and if you share art, make sure the love goes to Gabi because she really is keeping this whole thing going!   WARNING: chapter imagery contains blood. The chapter contains descriptions of injury and suicidal ideation, and I feel like the influence of the dark side can count as a warning as well. Continue at your own risk. AO3 Link: Here!
“Ahsoka!” Kaeden protested for what had to be the hundredth time since they received the comm. “Do you really think there’s time to drop us off when we know where Shin’s at?”
“I am not risking your lives,” Ahsoka repeated like a broken record, fingers curled tight around the yoke of the ship's controls as anxiety pulled her muscles tight. She was no stranger to the way fear could manipulate decisions, no stranger to the dangers that lurked behind every choice made, and yet… with her world on the line once again, she found difficulty in arranging her thoughts, found discomfort in the age-old mantra of letting go.
“Commander, you can’t be serious,” Rex was strapped solidly in his seat, fingers pressing into the armrests to keep himself steady through flying that could only be taught by General Skywalker, passed on so similarly in his Padawan, weaving them through space until they could reach the closest discreet jump point in the system.
“I’m not discussing this with you!”
There was a time, long ago during the Clone Wars, when Rex had to face the reality of a Togruta’s predatory behavior when Fives got hurt and a fourteen-year-old had bowed over his prone form and bared her teeth at any medic that tried to get too close, wouldn’t move an inch until it was Kix slowly kneeling at his vod’s side.
He was reminded now of this instance, in the growl that rumbled in the woman’s chest and the way full lips had pulled back, sharp fangs protruding threateningly as she dared a fiery look back at the two humans, a warning echoed deep in their bones in the way artificial lights glinted off of passive blue orbs, almost making it look as if yellow were seeping into her irises with a toxic sludge.
There was a click, then the sound of seatbelts retracting into their holders as Kaeden unbuckled, feet unsteady against the ground as Ahsoka neared the safest hyperspace lane. “Ahsoka-“ It was a valiant effort to try and calm the frenzied Force-Sensitive, though it didn’t seem to have much of an effect.
“You weren’t there,” Ahsoka hissed. “You didn’t feel it,” her facial markings were scrunched, and Huyang was almost sure that the woman was going to destroy her steering console if she didn’t lighten the hold.
“What didn’t we feel, ‘Soka?” Kaeden pressed, hand still pressed against the taut muscle of her bicep, her other hand moving to cover her hands on the yoke.
“She died , Kaeden. And I just don’t have what we need on the ship to handle that. I can’t trust anyone else to get the space ready, that’s why I need you two to go,” She deflated with this admission.
Ahsoka had felt the deaths of thousands of Jedi at once, had felt her aliit killed in battle, and had come to terms with the death of her own Master and Grand Master once their presences had closed off to her. For Shin? It was almost like their presence revealed itself, only to torture Ahsoka with the feeling of it being ripped from the world.
There had been so much fear in the way it had bounced like bait on a string, when she’d meditated, the Force held no answers, no whispers of what could be done, or how she could get there faster. It had stayed torturously silent until the bond had strengthened, soured by darkness and the thick fog of their presence being so weak, unable to truly commit to a bond that stretched across systems when it hadn’t even seemed to want to stay tethered to the physical realm.
Kaeden had already secured an Alliance frigate to wait on Dac for them, and in the quiet that had followed Ahsoka’s confession, the medic had taken a moment, either to alert them to an earlier arrival before Shin was rescued or to step away and breathe through the sting in her eyes, unwilling to lay any more stress on Ahsoka’s shoulders.
The rest of the trip was spent in silence, save for Huyang’s mumbling of different coordinates or whatever they were apparently passing, along with, as they passed their clearance code to the spaceport closest to the medical frigatem randomized facts about Dac’s history and environment thanks to the Mon Calamari.
“Commander,” Rex began as they gathered near the shuttle doors. Before Ahsoka could correct him, she found that strong arms were wrapping around her midsection. She’d grown taller than him over the years… but it was nice to be able to drop her head into the familiar plastoid on his shoulder and squeeze him in her arms, knowing that despite everything, he was with her. “Bring the kid home, alright?”
Swelled with emotion, the Togruta only nodded as they parted. Kaeden stepped up next, as Rex slipped into the frigate, the medic moved to grab at Ahsoka’s face, thumbs brushing over the markings on her cheeks as the Force-Sensitive woman pressed into her. “Don’t forget, we need you to come home too,” She reminded gently, with a parting kiss to the crown of her head. Before Kaeden could depart, she paused in the doorway. “Bring our girl back,”
“ I will. ”
Jestfad was a mess, harder to navigate than some warzones, and drenched in the dark side. The electrical storm was threatening to short the entire ship, even Huyang's power cells found issues with the charge in the air, eyes flickering ominously as he did his best to keep himself and the ship moving as Ahsoka kept them free of direct strikes.
Worry was heavy in Ahsoka’s bones, urging her focus to remain only on getting through the storm. They just had to make it a little bit longer…
They broke through the worst of the storm, headlights cutting like a sharp blade through the thick fog that settled across the surface, beams swaying as they looked for anything that resembled a humanoid, coming up with boundless sights of storm-torn boulders and the like.
Shin would have been impossible to see if it hadn't been for the exactness of the coordinates that had been sent over the Fulcrum network, their small frame curled up under a stone monolith that absorbed lightning and kept her mostly safe; safer than Ahsoka was, open like prey waiting to be attacked. "Keep us in the air, we need to get out of here," She instructed, already making a mad dash for the door as they closed in on her position.
"I have a bad feeling about this!" Huyang called as Ahsoka dropped the ramp and readied the stairs to give her a boost in sliding down to the surface.
"All you need to feel right now is urgency, Huyang!" Ahsoka snipped from the open door, squinting as a bolt of lightning cut through her eyesight of Shin. The force swelled with a helpful exigency and her montrals rang with the aftershocks of the sharp crack of lightning further damaging their surroundings. "Now!"
The steps smoothed out immediately to send Ahsoka careening to the rocky surface of the planet hard . She had to hit the ground running to avoid the lightning that threatened to turn her to ash, but keeping herself moving after catching the state shin was in was another challenge in itself.
They were shaking from where their body curled in so tight, with how they sat with their hands folded in their lap, Ahsoka could make out the unnatural twists and angles their fingers made, and the gaping wounds that morbidly decorated their palms. Large chunks of skin were missing from her hands, barely scabbed over lacerations striping painfully across her fingers and knuckles racing almost halfway up her forearm. Blood soaked through the clothes they'd been taken in, blues and grays ruined with the dark, rust-colored evidence of the worst.
"Shin!" Ahsoka shouted over the storm, moving faster than she should have; Silver-blue eyes were half-glazed, jumping to her with absolute fear , unseeing and unregistering of the reality of Ahsoka’s presence.
"I'm sorry," The child had sobbed once Ahsoka grew near, montrals twitching at the rattle in their chest and the lethargy sinking into their being. Broken fingers flexed around nothing, and fear oozed from their being at a rate almost as concerning as all the blood.
All Ahsoka could offer to comfort them was her presence as she dropped to Shin’s side, ginger in the way she approached them and in the waves of pain that radiated off of them and into the very fibers of their bond. The wail of pain from them was agony in her head, one Ahsoka would not be quick to forget as she gathered her lanky kid up into her arms. "I know, I know-” As much as her heart ached to soothe Shin’s worries, to promise they had nothing to be sorry for, she had to be their Master more than their mother if she wanted any hope of getting them off that blasted moon.
Shin was light, physically at least, though she sunk into Ahsoka’s arms with the weight of a zillobeast, feverish forehead dropping against her lek as hot tears streaked down their face. “ Didn’t say anything ,” Shin rasped at last, voice all but a wheeze. “ They don’t know, ” The rattling in their chest seemed to shake their entire being, “I swear, m.. Ahsoka… please,”   They couldn’t bring themselves to call her mom , not when the Inquisitor’s cutting remarks went far beyond their flesh.
Ahsoka paused, a strike of lightning caught the monolith, illuminating Shin’s face and the blood that stained sickly skin. “ Oh , Tazi Unt,” she wanted to cry, tell Shin that everything would be alright, and  make everything all right. But the longer they stayed, the more dangerous it became both for her resilience in the force, and their physical wellbeing, and with each passing moment, the weaker Shin seemed to get.
Tumblr media
The run back to the ship was harder, the storm grew stronger with every passing minute, and the shuttle was beginning to attract attention that they couldn't afford. "Huyang! We need to move, fast!" She shouted the minute her foot touched the durasteel ramp, muscles burning as Shin writhed in her arms uncomfortably, reaching but unable to truly hold onto the woman’s lek for comfort, failing to tether themselves into reality as their feverish state glazed over their eyes.
The ramp raised behind her as she all but flew into the cockpit, setting Shin down in the knick of time; A bolt struck the hull of the ship, and the next thing she knew, they were diving towards the ashen ground, plummeting to their deaths in seconds; Ahsoka had slammed into the pilots seat to grab at the controls, eyes fixed on the rapidly approaching ground, slamming her free hand into every available control around her, with the painful clicking of Huyang's haywire systems trying to reboot with such an intense electronic disturbance.
Faintly, she could hear Shin's erratic breaths, fighting to suck in wails to prove they were fine, even as fear flowed into their bond from the woman who just didn't have time to block it. They were trying to pull on the safety belts around them as their fate loomed ever closer, unable to even hook the straps into whatever was left of their hands, instead only able to watch and prepare themselves for the crash.
The underbelly of the shuttle scraped painfully against the planet as the power came back on, allowing Ahsoka's next hard yank at the controls to pull them up, and a well timed opening of the throttle to push them just out of the way of the next bolt of lightning that surely would have killed them.
Huyang clicked back to life with a start; the palm of his hand switching to the hyperdrive, engaging it quickly, with their emergency jump points already queued up for a speedy escape; Ahsoka didn't dare a look behind her, to the injured girl fighting to stay in their seat, shattered hands trying in vain to find some form of a handhold against the turbulence, only earning more bruises from the painful jostling in the seat as they fought to maintain stability in their lane.
Eventually, the ship steadied, and Ahsoka was able to take her attention away from the control panels at last, autopilot engaging with just a few buttons to maintain the course, listening to the broken gasps as Huyang knelt before Shin’s seat, and the sickening sound of bones being pulled into place along the splints. She couldn’t watch, but she couldn’t just sit there and do nothing, either.
“You’re okay, Tazi Unt , you’re alright,” She repeated those words like a mantra, even when the brunette’s head turned to bury into her stomach, attempting to spare themselves the sight that lay before them. “You’re doing so good,” She’d promised, cupping the back of the girl’s head with her hand, wincing at the indents and scabs along their scalp that felt too much like another being’s fingernails.
Their hands were in such disarray, tendons and bone made themselves known, ripping through pal, bloodied skin, and Huyang had to scramble to catch up and get some form of control in straightening them out. But to prevent further injury was to bring more pain, and in bringing her more pain, Ahsoka was stuck with their cries echoing in her head, and the way their small frame had shaken so violently in the chair.
When Shin’s cries of pain quieted and turned into something more haunting; whimpers and sucked in breaths, turning to silence aside from the absolute worse, Ahsoka knew they couldn’t continue.  “Huyang, we don’t have anything to help, we can’t do this,” She croaked, hands hovering over Shin’s shoulders, unsure of whether or not she should soothe, or aid.
Somewhere, long ago, far away on a battlefield surrounded by men who looked the same, Ahsoka could hear the echos of her own voice, younger, back then, with the shrapnel from an IED tearing through sepia-colored skin- “Let me die-” The fourteen-year-old had begged as a Clone’s steady hand pulled everything from metal to bone shards from her skin.
“Let me die… Please.” The twelve-year-old sobbed into Ahsoka’s stomach, surely unaware of what they were asking for, unaware of everything but the way their bones cracked under Huyang’s fingers as he tried to reset the placement. “Huyang,” Ahsoka pleaded, voice thick with unshed emotion. “Stop.”
“Lady Tano, she needs medical attention, and you’ve dispatched our only medic-”
“Call her, then, please… Anything but this,”
With hyperspace came silence, and with the silence of the ship around them came the sound of Ahsoka’s own heart thudding in her chest, and an airy rattling that couldn’t have come from the ship- Shin’s chest rose and fell, yes, though it was rapid and unsteady, they couldn’t draw in enough oxygen and-
“Ahsoka? Did you get her?” Kaeden’s voice came from the small comm disc in Huyang’s hand, the sound of materials being moved around following her words.
“Kaeden, she can’t breathe,” The Togruta rushed, oxygen entering her lungs for the first time since Huyang stopped his relentless first aid, warm fingers pressed against their pulse point, the rhythm weak against her fingers, eyes blinking open slowly to watch as her mother’s eyes jumped around their face, to watch Huyang, as if Kaeden could slip from the comm to help, and makers, what she wouldn’t give for that right now.
“It’s okay, Ahsoka-” There was a small clatter on the other end. “In your cabin, I left a bag. There’s an oxygen canister and everything you should need-”
Shin tried to focus, really she did. But Kaeden’s voice sounded like it was coming from far underwater, and the persistent lingering feeling of drowning stayed clogged in lungs that struggled to fill with enough oxygen. “ Meht ?” Shin called, her voice crackling under a wheeze. Huyang’s fingers around their wrist stopped the child from reaching out as Ahsoka pulled away from them. Why was she leaving them? She didn’t talk… “Meht, please-” Their voice came in a broken sob, lungs constricting as they tried in vain to rise past Huyang. The Inquisitor was right, and Ahsoka never considered them hers and-
There was just no more energy left to cry, no water left to sustain the tears that contorted their bruised and bloody face as a high, broken sound leaked past split lips, aching with the sorrows no one their age should have known. “She will be back, young Tano,” Huyang tried to ease them as he wound a strip of gauze across their hands, the rich smell of bacta stinging her nose even after the worst was covered. “Here she comes-” His voice couldn’t go as soft as he was trying to portray, the distortion felt like an out-of-body experience as he leaned back, away from Shin-
“ Please ,” Again, they keened, unable to turn their head to catch Ahsoka juggling items back through the door, only the heart-sinking sight of even Huyang moving away from her. “ I didn’t say anything, please ,” She couldn’t sob, could only crackle out against blood-stained lips and try to plead her case, to beg for their forgiveness and only hope to be accepted.
The hand that cradled the side of their head had been startling- Black gloves shoving into brunette tangles, gathering them up in strong hands to twist, and pull, or to hold a flailing body under the surface until the fight had left it, only to use the handhold to drag them up and force air back into their lungs. She did not notice the warmth or the way Ahsoka had jumped back twice as much, how every ounce of progress they’d made in getting Shin to accept her safety had been extinguished like a campfire on Kamino.
“No,” Ahsoka listened with pursed lips and the beast of grief heavy in her heart. “Let me die,” Shin’s hands raised, broken fingers useless in their attempt to curl into a fist to protect their face, blind to the broken horror on Ahsoka’s face as the girl shrank away from her in fear, expecting Ahsoka to hurt them.
“Shin!” It was Kaeden’s voice on the comm this time, hazy and alternating the line between reality and delirium. “Right here, okay, just listen to me, alright? Just breathe,” She spoke slow enough to earn her their attention but was unable to aid in calming the way they sucked in air too fast.
“Can’t-”
“It’s okay, baby, your mom is going to help you, okay? She’s right there, she’s right next to you, okay?” The medic couldn’t see, the comm wasn’t equipped for video imaging, but she trusted, maybe even in the Force, that Ahsoka was right where she promised. “ ‘soka, do you know how to set that up?”
“Yeah, yes, I got it-” Keeping her voice level was a lesson she’d learned long ago; it helped her brothers feel more at peace, whether they’d died on the battlefield, or in the relative comfort of the medical wings as long as she didn’t allow her own fear to waver in her voice. “I’m here, I’m not going anywhere. I won’t leave you… Not this time, never again…”
Quiet reassurances were passed between mother and daughter as thin tubing was carefully laid out, looping behind their ears before the cannulas were placed at their nose. “Your mom is going to help you breathe, alright, just let the air in. Ahsoka, when she’s ready, turn the knob on the canister forty-five degrees counter-clockwise.”
Shin coughed and sputtered at the oxygen pushing into her lungs, lidded eyes flying open to the sight of Ahsoka trying to adjust the tubing, aching to touch them but unwilling to brush against their skin again, lest she be the reason they went back again. “You’re alright, Tazi Unt ,” She cooed, settling herself into a kneeling position at their side, two fingers pressing gently against the center of their chest, listening as their breathing struggled to even out while feeling for the rest of the damage that tore through their small frame, hidden beneath their ill-fitting tunic.
“You’re doing so good, baby girl,” Kaeden called, easing Shin into finding some sort of compliance, relieving their struggle against the aid offered.
“Ahsoka, I need you to keep listening to their breathing, have Huyang take over the controls for a bit,” Huyang’s eyes met Ahsoka’s and without a word, the droid rose to his feet, sliding into Ahsoka’s chair and adjusting everything to himself as he brought their course up on a map, taking them out of autopilot so he could work around through the different shortcuts the Rebellion had found.
“Meht?” Shin was blinking up at her, bleary-eyed and beaten down, shoulders shaking with the looming threat of freezing cold water, long dried, but sticking far beyond their skin brought an intense chill. “I swear…” They coughed, a thick and sickly sounding thing as they struggled to allow the oxygen to help them breathe.
“I believe you,” Ahsoka promised, fingers hovering where they wanted so badly to reassure them through touch again. “No one blames you, strong girl. We only want to help it stop hurting, but… we won’t be able to do anything more until we get to Kaeden, okay…?”
The hypospray was in her pocket, she knew she needed to help Shin to sleep, but it was wrong to do such a thing, to even suggest it after all they’d been through, knowing that any kind of a needle brought into the mix wouldn’t be allowed anywhere near them-
“Please… hurts.” They croaked, closing the distance between their feverish forehead and Ahsoka’s hovering hand of their own accord, seeking comfort in the way Ahsoka’s thumb brushed across the old and ruined paint across their cheeks. Offering her permission to touch them once again. “I don’t want… “ They paused, unsure in their delirious request. The Force answered for her, instead of pain or chains, the child’s request came in the phantom feeling of arms wound against her. “It’s okay, Tazi Unt… I can do that for you, anything you need.” She promised gently, using the aid of the Force to help adjust their position in the chair, keeping their hands steady through the Force until she could slide herself in beneath them, their weight resting fully against her chest as the seat creaked under their combined weight.
Shin’s head tucked into Ahsoka’s neck, though the woman had to loosely wrap her fingers around their wrists to keep them still, their resistance weak as they struggled against the urge to reach for her mother’s lek. Their erratic breathing slowed once their weight was settled, allowing Ahsoka’s mind to drift away from the weight of the sedative stashed in her pockets,
“Ahsoka?” Kaeden’s voice on the comm reminded the Togruta of her virtual presence. “I know it’s calm now… but I need you to keep an eye on Shin’s breathing, even the slightest change and we’ll need to adjust our entire approach.”
“I… She’s as steady as she can be, right now,” Their heart still thundered in their chest, pulse thrumming wildly against the pads of Ahsoka’s thumbs where they pressed into the point on her wrist, feeling the broken rise and fall of their chest as the girl fought to retain every lesson they’d ever been given on easing that pain into the force where it could dissipate.
“Did you use..?”
“No… I don’t think I can…” Ahsoka’s eyes slid shut in reverence, lips pulling into a frown as Shin’s weight twitched against her. All she’d wanted was to have them back in her arms, but now, with their breath coming in broken puffs against her chest, all she found that she wanted was some way to relieve them from their pain. “ I’m sorry, ” Her nose brushed against the veritable womp-rat’s nest of their head, nose crinkling at how wrong Shin smelled when iron, dirt, and grease hung on them like a thick smog.
“She’s going to be alright, Ahsoka. You found her, she’s safe . Huyang will get you guys back here, and we can treat them properly… we’ll make this work.”
Ahsoka’s sound of discontent is trapped between her teeth as she worries a fang into her bottom lip. Kaeden spoke, but Fulcrum did not listen, focused entirely on the whistling in Shin’s lungs as exhaustion pulled their consciousness under, the hiss of the oxygen pushing into their nose through the cannulas the only other sound she could find it in her to care about.
“Ahsoka…?” Kaeden called, though Ahsoka could not gauge how much time had passed, wild eyes filled with worry and tunneled on the small human form curled into her chest. “Hey, you still with me?”
“Yeah…” Her voice croaked, hoarse as the hailstorm of emotion that refused to bleed into the force dragged down on each syllable.
“Shut your eyes a bit- I’ll keep my ears out if Shin moves, okay? And Huyang will wake you up- Right Huyang?” She called towards the droid piloting the ship, satisfied with the sound of his servos whirring as his head nodded in the affirmative, even if she couldn’t see him; they’d always had an understanding when it came to their two Fulcrum agents.
Emotions swirled inside Ahsoka’s chest, dark and rotting- She breathed through it, always had, and always would- Shin was safe . Shin needed her at her best… It was logic she could get behind, the logic that she could rationalize as the days' worth of sleep deprivation caught up with her. An exhale, and the rot subsided, blooming into something lighter , even if the roots were tainted in toxic sludge.
A dark covered hand reached out for their face, this time, Shin did not flinch away in fear, to their horror, they found their cheek pressing into morbid fingers, something sinful on their tongue as fingers dragged through their hair. “You’re more like me than you want to admit.” The Monster breathed, putrid breath ghosting across their cheeks, filling poison in their lungs.
Fingers curled in their hair, tugging harshly as the child’s head was wrenched back. “Show me.” Shin heard their own voice rasp out, and felt the words betray her on her own lips. “ Teach me .”
A flash of orange, green dust caught in the wind, something… purple-
Their eyes opened in a flash, breathing stuttering as their heart thundered. Restraints dug into her skin, something beeped nearby. Unable to gather the strength to look, Shin’s eyes slammed shut tight. But Ahsoka came… She was supposed to be safe!
Testing at her restraints, she found that the Inquisitor hadn’t locked their wrists to the chair. Broken fingers protested at the movement, though they persisted, moving to rub the snot on their nose away on their forearm- The tubes near their face gave them pause and their next inhale was thick with growing emotion. What were they doing to her now? Was that green dust something else to make her talk…? She was so tired… Why didn’t they just kill her already? Her pinkie curled around a tube, it hurt, but she couldn’t just lay there while they pumped her full of… whatever this was. “Please… Just let me die.” They croaked in a broken whisper, pulling in vein at the tubes that looped back behind her ears.
“Shin…? Sweetheart is that you?”
Her voice was warm, drowsiness dragged her voice an octave deeper- a naive part of Shin had always loved it when Kaeden would tell her stories in her sleepy voice.
“Meht…” Broken and tired, Shin’s head relaxed back into the warm flesh of Ahsoka’s shoulder, eyes cracking open enough at last to peer up at the once familiar lights and panels all across the ceiling. “They won’t let me die…”
“No… We aren’t going to let you die, d'bhem. ” A whine formed in the base of Shin’s throat, a sound as broken and desolate as they looked outside. Something clattered on Kaeden’s end, though Shin could not speculate when the predator under her shifted her weight, a sleepy grumble that came in the form of a rumbling chest and a squeeze of her arms reminded the girl of her situation.
“If I’m not going to die..” Shin dared a look at her hands, finding immediate regret in the way bile, nothing but stomach acid, gurgled up their throat, threatening to expel past their lips at the sight before them. Swallowing thickly, Shin focused instead on the ceiling once more, breathing heavily through her nose, silently thankful for the support they were given. “I can’t be a Jedi… Not like this… I’m ruined.” They whispered, tension leaving their body as they went boneless in warm, restricting arms. “ She isn’t going to want me around anymore.”
“That’s not true. It’ll never be true. We want you, we want you with us all the time, sweetheart… and we will make it better…” A pause, someone’s voice called out on Kaeden’s side. “What’s that thing Ahsoka’s always saying? Do or do not…?”
“There is no try,” Shin’s cheek pressed into Ahsoka’s bicep, freezing body seeking to find some warmth in their mother’s unnatural body heat. There was an uncomfortable shifting as the child wiggled, struggling to raise their head enough to take in Ahsoka’s face for what felt like the first time.
Dark bags hung under the Togruta’s eyes, stress lines etched into the creases of her face, and even her facial markings seemed to be permanently scrunched up as she failed to find relaxation in a fitful slumber. “...Is she okay?”
A pause, the clatter of Kaeden setting something down as she took a measured breath. “She’s just worried about you, Tazi grut .”
Shin’s breathing stuttered again, throat itching with a cough they were unwilling to release, not wanting to risk waking Ahsoka up after causing her so much strife. “ I’m sorry, I never meant to wo-”
“Babygirl,” Kaeden cut her off effectively, “When you love someone, you’re always going to worry. Even Huyang can’t turn that one off.”
“Oh…” Shin’s chin tucked into her chest bashfully. “Did… Did I worry you…?”
Warm laughter bubbled from the line, tight with the stressors depressing on this brief moment of reprieve. “Very, very , much. But I’ll see you very soon, and I’m going to be here the whole way, I’m not going anywhere, so don’t you go where I can’t follow.” Her plea was hidden in false merriment, although Shin could hear it clear as day. “Do you think you can try getting some more sleep for me? I’m not sure how much further you have to go…”
Shin could see the way Huyang’s metallic fingers flexed against the controls- Tried not to think about curling their own fingers, or the way her own were broken in a similar fashion. “Can I take this off…?” Their forearm brushed against the tubing that crossed along her cheek.
“Sorry, baby… Not just yet,” And maybe it was the genuine sympathy in the woman’s voice, or maybe it was exhaustion threatening to take them back that had Shin’s arm dropping, broken hands resting over Ahsoka’s gauntlets, smearing blood across the material as they pressed into the familiar garment.
“Okay… You’ll be here when…?” Shin wouldn’t dare to finish, unsure what would be waiting for them, if this was another hallucination, or if the Force would be relenting enough to allow this moment to be real, even if she could feel the way her life threatened to slip through her own mangled fingers.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world, my little hunter.”
Silence followed, the ship rattled, Shin’s broken breathing accentuated by the whisper of snores sneaking past Ahsoka’s lips. “Hey Huyang…?” Their voice was timid where it broke the tense tranquility. “Can you tell me about the Purgill again…?”
The droid cleared his nonexistent throat, clearly glad to be doing something other than bringing further harm to Shin or piloting through the emptiness of hyperspace. “Once upon a time, in a galaxy far far away…”
The proximity alarms blared; doing nothing to ease the swirling pit of anxiety in Rex’s stomach,  fingers flexing around the handles of his blasters as they watched the ship pop out of hyperspace, peering through thick transparisteel as he may have all those years ago, once again waiting for Ahsoka return with someone he cared for.. “It’s okay, Rex, we’re safe-” Kaeden’s voice was gentle, pulling him from his thoughts, away from the memories of fallen brothers and Jetti that had been brought home in starships just like the T-6.
Brown eyes looked at her with a pain built upon years of fighting that she could barely begin to understand. “T-6 one-niner-seven-four you are clear to land,” Kaeden could hear the flight crew through the shuttle’s speakers echoing through her comm.
The silence was thick, both humans could feel their hearts thundering in their ears, neither daring to break the silence until purposeful footsteps rang through the hall leading to the operating room. “Fulcrum, we can prep her sooner if you-” Kaeden could only imagine the look on Ahsoka’s face as the voice froze in its tracks. The doors hissed open, revealing Ahsoka, with her lips still curled and fangs bared in a warning, with something that screamed danger lurking in the flecks of yellow that seemed to poison her irises, and with a lump of human in her arms, all awkward angles and dried blood. She needed something to hold onto- to ground herself. Thankfully, Rex’s arm was in reach. Her fingers curled around the ancient plastoid, feeling the soldier’s hand reach to grab her elbow, taking the same support being given as they leaned on each other.  She took a breath, letting her eyes slide shut as Ahsoka’s long strides closed the distance. She couldn’t look at this personally, couldn’t look at the fractured bundle in Ahsoka’s arms as Shin. “Kaeden.” Ahsoka’s voice cracked. She’d hoped in vain that the crackling in their earlier conversation was due to the comms, had hoped she wouldn’t have to hear the ache in each syllable. She released her hold on Rex, straightening up as she reached for the bundle in Ahsoka’s arms. “I’ll take them from here, Ahsoka.” Her voice wavered, forcing her to clear her throat as the bundle was passed into her arms. She couldn’t tell who was trembling more, Ahsoka, Shin, or herself?  She’d caught a glance at the pre-teen's face, all pale skin and a multitude of bruises, pounding on that invisible barrier she’d stuffed her emotions behind.
“Come on, Commander. Kid’s in good hands.” Rex’s voice was rough as he reached for Ahsoka, grabbing her elbow and expertly ignoring the way she mirrored the deadly Akul from her planet, saw past the twinge in her jaw that threatened teeth that itched to tear into his flesh, muscles that spasmed, taut and ready to spring into action for even the notion that he would take her away from her own.
With Rex and Ahsoka retreating, the small team of trusted medics finally felt safe enough to step in, careful hands helping as the woman laid Shin out against the operating table. They were no strangers to the cruelties of the Empire, not at this point, not when the Empire grew bolder in their blatant disrespect for all life.
“Careful.” She hissed, just under her breath as a faceless attendant slid the fabric shears through the ruined tunic, all careful stitching and loving repairs forgotten in favor of granting them access to the battlefield painted against a child's skin. “Oh, makers. ” Kaeden paused, her head snapping to the side, bile rising in her throat- she stumbled back, and felt another medic place their hands on her back, steadying her when the sight became overwhelming
“If it’s too much, we understand-”
“I’m fine.” The woman spoke all too quickly. “Continue prepping her, Jlik’fi, help me scrub in, please.”
Rex learned all too well than when it came to his General, it was better to let him pace when Ahsoka was stuck in the sick bay. Letting the Knight wear holes in his boots and only interfering when gloves hands would reach to pull at his hair or hint at some form of danger- some way to let the worry out that would leave the maintenance squad trying to fix the dents. Thankfully, Ahsoka didn’t have hair to pull on as she stalked the length of the small quarters he’d been ushered into, and as wild as she was when she was a kid, she’d never been big on the violent outbursts..
She did, however, have dried blood coating her skin, blood that wasn’t hers , blood that should have been safely flowing through her padawans’ veins, not painting her skin in all its horror.
Blunt nails scraped at her arms, flecking rust-colored remnants away and leaving white scratches in their wake. “Commander,” Rex heaved a great sigh as he stood. Ahsoka sure wasn’t a youngling anymore, and the Togruta had outgrown him tenfold, all broad shoulders and lean muscle, montrals sprouting like a crown from the sides of her head. He’d never been scared of her before, but there was something… off. Something that screamed danger, just like Anakin, a red flag that no one knew to catch onto. “Ahsoka.” He repeated for what had to have been the hundredth time, trying to get the Force-Sensitive to acknowledge his existence before she worried a hole into her lip, where fangs indented the skin of her lip, threatening to break the skin.
“She’s in there with the best of the best-“
“What if it’s not enough?” She hissed, voice dropping, weighted down by that ache that went deeper than her bones, the pain that seemed to permeate her being in the very force.
Rex blinked, a slow, contemplative expression furrowing his features as he reached to scratch his fingers through his beard. Ahsoka was always a woman of action , she didn’t get caught up in the ‘what-ifs’.
“We have to let her try, though. All we can do right now is make sure, when Shin wakes up, that we’re here, right where she needs us.” He reasoned, scooting himself to sit on the edge of his seat, fingers curling around the edge of the table he’d sat himself at. “C’mon, kid. Sit with an old man.”
“I’m older than you.” She lacked the emotion, the impish look that would cross their faces when they teased each other about age, but it was a start .
“Well, only one of us can get the senior citizen discount at forty-twos.”
“Rex, it’s literally a clone bar, built by your brothers.” Her pacing came to an end as she slid bonelessly into the seat opposite him. Trembling fingers came to rest on the tabletop, though he was quick to cover her hands with his own, hiding the dried blood that clung to her skin under the guise of squeezing her hands in his own.
“Yeah well… meli-room, meel-roo-un.” A smile cracked his lips as he shook his head, playfully dismissive of her argument. “Now c’mon. What’s that thing you Jetti are obsessed with? Meditation?”
“ You want to meditate ?” Fulcrum asked incredulously, the facial markings above her eyes furrowing in disbelief as he shrugged.
“Give it a shot before you carve a hole into the floor…” he just didn’t want to watch her lose herself, didn’t want to watch her plummet the same way Anakin had after she’d left. He could never help but feel like there was more he could have done, and when it came to his vod’ika , he was determined to do all in his power to never feel that strange, encompassing guilt once more.
“Alright… alright.” She slipped her hand from his in order to rub at the side of her montral, surely aching from the intense stress of the day.
Rex couldn’t help how closely he paid attention to the way the gold-flecked in her eyes lessened with her agreement, how her eyes slid shut but her chest still rose and fell too fast to achieve a proper meditation. He found his own worry easing now that the gnawing unknown fled from his vod’ika, leaving her as she was- exhausted and sick with worry, but Ahsoka all the same.
With a quiet groan, the clone rose from his seat, putting himself on the floor right beside her, legs folded beneath him with his head leaning against her knee, one hand resting against her ankle as he lent her his strength.
The Togruta’s hand dropped from the tabletop, curling against the plastoid armor at his shoulder before dropping to his chest plate, following a grove left from a battle she could hardly remember.
Rex’s breathing became more pronounced, giving her something to follow as her fingertips rested over his heart.
Eventually, her own breathing evened out, the Togruta seemed to slip back, away from the immediate stressors of reality as she dipped into the vast pool of life that was the Force, surely seeking answers or calm beyond what a mere mortal could ever provide.
“We’ll be okay, commander.” He grumbled, voice barely breaking the white noise of the air recyclers humming in the walls.
Rex didn’t know how long it took, or how much time had passed before one of Kaeden’s medics poked their head into the room, rousing both Clone War survivors from their separate stupors. He did know, however, that when he looked at Ahsoka, the gold in her eyes was gone, and that worrying gnawing on his heart had subsided as she rose from her seat to follow them back to the room aboard the frigate.
Kaeden looked as exhausted as everyone felt, all but collapsed into a chair at Shin’s bedside in the frigid room. Warmed blankets covered the frail body in bed, with a skinny wrist poking beneath the covers, tubes, and wires going this way, and that while medical equipment and droids beeped a symphony of life around them.
Warm brown fingers curled around Shin’s wrist, just above the length of bandages that curled around the girl's hands and up her wrists, grounding herself to the steady thrumming of blood in her veins as she waited.
“Kaeden,” Ahsoka greeted in a whisper, eyes taking over the room. The rest of the medical team had filed out on Kaeden’s request, leaving the family with much-needed silence.
“She’s okay.” Kaeden rasped, thumb brushing against the small patch of unmarred skin beneath her fingers.
Ahsoka crowded her field of vision when she knelt before her, taking her attention with soft eyes and kind fingers tapping against her chin. The question was silent, passed between the two women with a glance. “I’m okay,” she promised, free hand reaching to wrap around Ahsoka’s wrist, thumb pressing into the pulse point in a gentle swipe. “Get your girl.”
With permission, Ahsoka finally allowed herself to take in the sight of the child- her child as they laid out before her. Her hair was cut and shaved in a patchwork where the team had needed to handle the injuries that had danced across the delicate surface of her head. Stitches and bandages broke up the expanse of pale skin and bruises on their path to disappear beneath the thin shirt provided. Even in sleep, Shin’s face was contorted in pain, nose wrinkled at the smell of bacta across her bruises that permeated even her medically aided dreams, with small twitches and spasms firing through various muscles as the haze of sedatives wore down.
“ Oh, Shin. ” Ahsoka whispered, taking her place at her Padawan’s side, reaching out to ghost her fingers along the mess of bandages, careful to avoid the wires that let the humans hear the unstable thrum of her heart, to know that she was alive, to promise that she was there , with them, when the minuscule rise and fall of her chest failed to ease their concerns.
Ahsoka’s very bones seemed to rattle inside their prison of flesh and muscle. She recognized this for what it was- with each wave of pain that thrumemd in time with her heart beat, she focused on the feeling, the attachment, so dangerous to someone like her, like them . Even now, she could feel the way the ache for revenge itched under her skin, the way something darker whispered in her mind. You can make sure no one ever hurts her again .
Drawing her legs onto the chair with her, the Togruta repositioned herself, heavy eyes falling closed with the sound of Shin’s breathing and the beeping of the monitors tethering her to the world around her.  She’d been down this road before, many years ago, had lost countless brothers and felt the same simmering danger under the surface, a poison that threatened to sink into her bones and take control.
Attachments led to pain, Jedi were taught to forgo all attachments, to let go and become something greater .
Something rumbled in Ahsoka’s chest, unknown, uncultivated, something the Jedi would have never bothered to teach her to understand, a feeling and a hurt so primal, unlike anything she’d ever known the dark side to be capable of- a low, keening sound escaped her lips. She was no stranger to the behaviors of Torguta, but she’d been left to assume that such a… visceral reaction to one of her pack being injured would have been long removed from her abilities.
The sound dragged Kaeden from her solemn reverence. She was familiar with the Force-Senstive’s silence when she’d meditated, had only ever heard the warrior speak in quiet words that commanded attention. Even injured herself, Ahsoka had never emitted such a noise, not in all the time she, nor Rex, had known her. And despite Shin’s own human biology, it seemed that the noise resonated in her, too. Enough for glassy eyes to crack open and a hand to lift just mere centimeters from the bed. “Meht.” Shin had croaked, voice barely loud enough to register past all the equipment.
To Ahsoka, though- The rasp in their voice was an answer, not just to the question pressing on all their shoulders, but to that deeper ache in her chest, lessening when she opened her own eyes and saw herself reflected in watery depths. “I’m here, Tazi Unt. ” She leaned across the bed until the tips of her Lek dragged against the scratchy material of the sheets, letting her fingers ghost over the sliver of skin that poked out of the bandages along Shin’s arm. “ You are here.”
She could feel the way Shin’s muscles quivered, the strain keeping her arm raised was taking. With a gentle press, Ahsoka succeeded in easing the girl's arm into dropping back into the bed, a look of relief- albeit minor in comparison to everything else, crossing their face, allowing the girl just a moment of peace.
It didn’t last, of course. Nothing good ever seemed to. The girls mind finally seemed to break through the barriers of painkillers, racing to catch her up to speed with the burning sting in her flesh and the fractures in her bones that ran deep enough to penetrate their very soul. “Ahsoka…” The woman blinked- Her name from those lips was wrong , yet she could not stand to correct them, not when she’d failed them as both Master and Mother. “Don’t…. Don’t lose yourself for me.” They grumbled, weariness dragging them back down as the weight settled back across her shoulders. “I’m… You’re not- I…”
A bandaged hand brushed against her lekku, making them both wince: Ahsoka in shock, and Shin in what could only be pain. “Hush now, Shin… Just. Get some rest, okay?” Ahsoka pressed forward until her lips came to rest at the crown of Shin's head, pulling back just enough to watch as exhaustion dragged their eyelids down and their breathing deepened into something as close to a restful sleep as any of them could hope to get anytime soon.

Chapter 1
Pairing: Captain Rex/ F! Jedi OC. Commander Wolffe/ F! Jedi OC (platonic only)
Summery: Tragedy hits the Jedi Temple and Ahsoka Tano leaves the Order after being wrongly accused. This leads many in the Order to question what loyalty really means. For Calica Tarver, it makes her depend on her Master and her men all the more as she mourns the loss of her good friend and has to find her peace of mind to lead into battle once more.
Warnings: swearing, Star Wars canon war talk/ fighting, angst, fluff if you really look. I think that's it.
Other: So here is the "first" book of the "This Name We Chose" Series! I'm so excited for you to follow along on Rex and Calica's story. It starts off a bit angst, I promise there is a method to my madness and they will find their happy ending, but this story has been so long in the making and I'm really excited for you to see the worlds, characters, and lore I have worked on to add into the wonderful Star Wars Universe. (Also I used two prompts from the @summer-of-bad-batch challenge to add to this chapter. I used "it's just a scratch" and "forget I asked" in the story, so be on the lookout for those!) Thank you @lila-rose for being my best friend in this story, helping me brainstorm all my crazy ideas ♥️

Cool wind blowing through her thick black hair as she hung her legs through the balcony rings at the top of the spiral on the Troop Center. Life never stopped moving on the busy world, speeders and transports filling the sky in a constant sea of movement. City lights shone for as far as the eye could see. It was here that she called home now, this world made of metal. It was a far cry from the Jungle and mountain world she once knew, but now the Clone barracks and Jedi temple were her home.
She closed her dark purple eyes and let the wind blow over her face. It was freeing being up this high, alone with the nighttime air. Her cheeks were stained with tears, red from wiping them away every few minutes. The past few days had been unlike any other. She felt a tremendous loss in her heart and mind. Everything she once believed in now seemed wrong. The people she trusted for as long as she could remember now made her question everything she knew. A long sigh slipped past her lips as she ran the back of her hand over her cheeks once more to wipe off the tears off her soft sunkissed skin. She let her hands fall back to the railing and rested her right cheek onto her arms. Her eyes remained closed, listening to the city, the planet go on about its busy way. Life could be so cruel sometimes, especially now with the Galaxy in flames in a seemingly unending war that was tearing even the Jedi apart.
At age 20 Calica Tarver never thought she would see so much death and despair in her young life. She had been a Padawan of Plo Koon's since she was 14, but the past few years of her life has been less about being a Jedi and more about being a soldier. And now, even her own Order was untrusting of one of its very own, one of the best of them. Ahsoka Tano was close to Plo, and Calica has grown up watching the young girl turn into a young woman before her eyes. She grew close to the young Togruta as time went by, seeing her as a younger sister. But after the explosion and the investigation the young girl found innocent, left the Order after those she trusted hunted her down and tried to call her a murderer. Her own men had died, Clones she loved and fought beside. No one in the 501st believed their leader was capable of doing what had been done. In the end the real terrorist had stepped forward, and Ahsoka had been set free, but in turn left the Order to find her own path. To many it had set the Jedi Order ablaze with doubt, especially in those who were close to Ahsoka. And Calica was one of them.
With a sigh, Calica opened her dark purple eyes and looked out over the city. The wind picked up as a Star Destroyer flew overhead heading to dock. She watched it as it headed to the docking platform. Soon she would be back on one of those with her Master and her troopers. Men she saw as equals. Taking one last look into the night sky above her, the feeling of the wind on her skin filling her with a bit of freedom she pushed herself into a standing position and headed for the door at the end of the balcony. Waving her hand in front of the door it opened with a slight whoosh and she stepped inside. Taking the lift down to the base of the spiral she walked out into the dim lit hallway. It was well into the night, most troopers asleep at this point. She walked down the halls with silent steps, her dark brown robe blowing around her feet with each step. Calica held her head and shoulders regal like, moving with a grace about her. She moved farther into the barracks, moving past the mess hall where a few Clones were getting a late night meal after just coming back from the Destroyer. She felt a soft warm presence filling the air around her. Calica smiled softly to herself, and followed the warm river of calm down the halls. As she arounded a corner she smacked into the hard chest plate of armour.
"Ouph!" She groaned as she rubbed her head after smacking into the hard armour. A soft chuckle filled her ears and she knew right away who she ran into. Looking up to find the gray and white armour she felt a steady hand on her arm.
"You okay, Vod'ika?" Commander Wolffe asked as he gave her arm a light squeeze. They were both Commanders for the 104th. Calica handled more of the political and research side of the mission planning, learning about the people and the planet before Wolffe would then make up the battle plan and squads based on her Intel. They worked well together and Wolffe took her under his wing, acting as her big brother most days. "You smacked your head pretty hard on my armour, Little Wolf."
Calica looked up at the Clone Commander and gave him a shake of her head. Around most Wolffe seemed hard and unapproachable, but to Plo, his pack and her, he was a teddy bear. From the day they met, Wolffe and Calica became brother and sister and had always had each other's backs.
"I'm okay, Vod." She told him. As she looked down at his hand she noticed his holopad was out and glowing. "What are you doing up so late?"
"Last minute report I needed to get done."
"Oh I see."
"Why are you up at 1am in the morning?"
Was it really 1am in the morning? Calica ran a tired hand down her face. She could still feel the river of calming peace floating around the barracks and she reached out to it for a moment, letting it fill her mind and relax her. Taking a deep breath she looked back up at Wolffe.
"I couldn't sleep. So I went up to the spiral balcony." She said sheepishly. It wasn't forbidden for the Jedi to be at the barracks during the night, at times Generals came down here for late night planning before a mission. But most Jedi didn't wander the halls because they couldn't sleep. Wolffe placed a hand on her shoulder and pulled her closer till his chin rested on top of her head. She wasn't short, but she stood a few inches below Wolffe's 6' frame. She tucked herself against him and let her arms wrap around his waist. His arms falling around her upper back as he sighed.
"Vod'ika, are you still hurting from what happened at the Temple? There was nothing you could do. She made her choice Little Wolf, even if it didn't seem fair, she made her choice." Calica knew he was right. Ahsoka made her choice after the Council let her down. And Calica knew that choice wasn't easy, that it came with a cost to both sides. Didn't mean it still didn't hurt to lose a friend and someone she called sister.
"I know, Wolffe. I know." She whispered into his armoured chest before letting out a shaken sigh. Pushing herself back, she stood up straight and closed her eyes for a second before looking up into his one brown and one white. She thought about when he lost his eyes. That day had been so hard on her and Plo. Wolffe had tried to protect his men, when he was struck down by Asajj Ventress losing his eye to her lightsaber. Calica has jumped in, standing over the fallen Commander's body protecting him from being killed. She fought hard against Ventress, winning in the end and getting Wolffe to safety but he had become harder on himself and his men after that day. He really was only soft around Plo and Herself, and a few of his men that really earned it. Since then Wolffe and Calica have become closer.
"Vod'ika?" His voice broke her from her thoughts as she looked back up into his eyes.
"Sorry?"
Wolffe sighed and placed a hand on her arm. "I asked how long were you up in your tower? Have you slept at all lately?"
Calica just shrugged. She honestly wasn't sure when the last time it was that she slept. Between the front lines and coming back to find the Temple in an uproar her mind has been racing in 20 different directions. She hung her head and reached back out into the Force, letting the light ripples of calm wash over her. She felt her mind relax as the warm mind touched her through the Force and she gave a silent thanks.
"Calica, Vod'ika, come on. I'll take you to my barracks. You need to sleep and I have to finish these reports for Plo'buir. I don't want to leave you alone right now." Too tired to fight Wolffe on it, she nodded her head and followed him down the halls of the Clone Barracks. They walked the halls in silence, their soft foot falls the only sound. As they walked they came to a hall where a lone woman was slowly walking down the hall, her hand outreached towards the doors as she went by. Her pale tan robe moved with each step, her white to blue hair hung in loose curls down her back. The warmth Calica has felt was coming from the Jedi before her.
"Do you know who that is? I've seen her in here before at night, walking the halls but never spoke to her before." Wolffe asked softly as to not disturb her. Calica nodded her head and looked from the woman to Wolffe.
"That's Master Asha Imber. She's not around much, her team is an elite special Ops, but when they are planet side, she comes here to use her powers on the men."
"Her powers?"
"Her kind are empaths. It's not a Force sensitivity, it's a thing they just do. They can feel all emotions and they can even push emotions onto others. It's a very powerful gift outside of the Force. We all can feel emotions with the Force, but for her, because of her species, it's more powerful for her."
"So what is she doing here?"
Calica waved her hand at the Jedi Master as she looked over at the two and gave them a soft smile before softly rapping on a door. A clone opened the door, his face tired, sunken in, and tear stains on his skin. They watched as he took one look at Master Imber and broke down. The tall Layothan woman wrapped him in her arms and gently rubbed his back, his breathing soon evening out as her blue eyes glowed in the dimly lit halls. The clone soon seemed to be asleep on his feet and the Jedi walked him into his room and laid him on the bunk and pulled the blanket up before placing a hand on his head and closing her eyes over him.
"She comes here to help soldiers find peace. To be able to sleep. That man is a shiny, he saw his first battle the other day and lost his batchmate. He's been having nightmares since he got back, according to Spark." She looked up at Wolffe to see a soft look on his face. "She does it for all the men. No matter how little or long they have been in the war. If she can, she pushes calming emotions onto them, helping them turn away bad dreams and feel safe and comfortable."
Waffle nodded his head towards the Jedi as she walked out of the room, shutting the door behind her. Her eyes, still looking as though they glowed, were somehow warm and kind. She gave the pair a nod before moving to the next room with her hand outreached, feeling for the next man that needed a sense of peace. Calica and Wolffe turned and went down the right corridor towards his barracks leaving the Jedi Master to her task. Wolffe opened the door once they reached the room and he placed a hand on her back, letting her walk through first. Calica had been here a handful of times, helping plan and prepare for battles, many times both falling asleep at his desk before the night was over. With a flop, she face planted onto the bunk, letting her worn body sink into the mattress. Wolffe chuckled behind her as he shut the door and sat down at his desk. Reaching into the top drawer of his desk he pulled out a ration bar and tossed it at her head. He was doing everything he could to make her smile, or comfortable in the least. The bar thunked off her head, falling to the floor and Calica turned to glare half-heartedly at him before using the Force to bring the bar to her hand.
"Lazy." He chirped before turning to pull up the reports Plo needed done for a meeting in the morning. Calica stuck out her tongue at him before ripping open the package and biting into the green color bar. It was one of the better tasting ones, not as blended as some of them. Wolffe kept a stash of the good ones in his room since they were harder to come by. She quickly downed the ration bar and threw the wrapper into the waste bin. Calica wrapped her rope around herself tighter before laying back down on her side, watching Wolffe type away on his holopad. Her eyes soon began to droop as she watched him type away and before she knew it her world went dark as sleep took over her.
It was early morning when a light rap on the door woke her from her slumber. Choosing to ignore the tapping she rolled over and pulled her robes tighter to her body. Calica heard Wolffe stir and the sound of his chair moving softly backwards on the floor. He moved silently, his footfalls not making a sound. She felt his eyes on her back before opening the door and giving a soft "shhhh" to whoever was waiting outside. After a few seconds the door slipped shut and muffled voices came from the hallways but she was too tired to care, letting sleep pull her back under.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wolffe was surprised to have someone come knocking at his door at 0500 in the morning. The briefing wasn't supposed to be until 0900. He didn't think Plo would be looking for Calica, he knew she sometimes crashed with Wolffe. He didn't figure any of the Jedi would be looking for her in all honesty. At least not at this hour. So when he opened his door and saw Rex standing outside of it, he was surprised. Pressing his finger to lips he quickly shushed his younger Vod before stepping out into the hallway. Rex glanced at the sleeping form on the bed before giving Wolffe a questioning look.
"Is everything okay Vod?" Wolffe asked after the door slipped shut.
"Just got back from the Temple with General Skywalker. Saw the light under the door so I thought I'd just in." Rex said in a hushed tone. He tapped his head towards the door that was closed behind Wolffe. "What's that about?" He couldn't make out who the sleeping form was and he never knew Wolffe to bring anyone back to the barracks. He watched as his Vod cast a glance at the door and rubbed a tired hand through his hair.
"Commander Tarver." He said with a wave of his hand towards the door. His other hand found purch on his hip as he glanced back at Rex. "The whole banthashit show at the Temple has her on edge. I don't think she's slept since we got back. I didn't want her alone." He pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath before looking at Rex. The Captain gave his older brother a knowing look, one of understanding.
"Skywalker hasn't been the same the past few days either. I've been trying to be there for him as much as I can. He's the closest thing to a brother a natborn could be to me." Rex said as he leaned against the metal wall. Even through his armor he could feel the cool steel. "This whole thing has set everyone on edge. Loyalty means everything to the us Clones and over the years I've learned loyalty means just as much to the Jedi. For them to do what they did to Comma-, er, Ahsoka, it really punched a hole in the fabric of things at the Temple."
Woffle nodded his head before leaning back against the wall beside his brother. "Everything is just off right now. All we can do is be there for our leaders and support them." Glancing back to Rex he noticed how tired and worn the young Captain was. "How are you handling it all?"
Rex huffed a sigh as he let his head thunk back against the wall. His eyes were red rimmed, bags under them from lack of sleep. His skin a bit paler than normal. Anyone could see the Captain was tired. But there was more under that. He rolled his head to the side, looking into the eyes of his brother.
"I'll be honest, it hurts. Ahsoka became so important to the boys and me. To Skywalker. She is family." Mist filled his eyes as he spoke, becoming glossy as he ran the back of his gloved hand over them. "I understand why she left. But it feels like another death to the 501st. I'm not sure any of us are going to be able to shake this Wolffe. It's throwing more than just my unit off. Even General Kenobi seems harder than normal." He felt the heavy hand of his Vod fall to his shoulder and grasp it tightly. Rex wasn't normally one to show so much emotion, hell none of the Clones were. But when something really shakes them up, it was normal to find brothers holding brothers in the dead of night as they tried to pull themselves back together.
"You need to sleep Rex. Maybe find Kix, get some downers and sleep. I'm sure the Generals would understand if you missed a day. Jesse or Appo can fill in for you for once. The war can wait a moment." Woffle offered his counsel as he squeezed his shoulder. The hard, stoic commander put aside his training and duty for a moment to offer not only his Commander but his brother a moment to stop being soldiers but humans with emotions. Rex just nodded his head and placed his hand on Woffle's before pushing off the wall. He cast a glance towards the closed door wondering about the woman behind it. He had never met Calica Tarver, but heard Ahsoka talking about her over the years. Somehow their paths never crossed and yet his heart broke for the woman. He looked back into Wolffe's eyes before tipping his head at the Commander and walked down the hallway towards his barracks to try and find sleep that seemed to have avoided him for days now. Or maybe he had been avoiding it, knowing that once he laid down he would fall victim to his own mind that hadn't stopped racing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her arm was asleep.
That's the first thing she noticed when her senses came flooding back to her as she woke up. She had been sleeping with her right arm tucked under her head since she fell asleep. And at this point Calica had no clue when that had been. Rolling onto her back she stared at the gray ceiling of the barracks for a moment, rubbing her left hand over her arm trying to get the blood flow back to it. Wincing at the painful tingling in her arm she swung her legs over the side of the bunk and rolled her head side to side to pop her joints. Glancing to the now empty chair where Woffle has once been she realized his datapad was also missing.
Calica sighed and pushed herself up onto her feet and let her back pop back into place before taking a step towards the desk. There on Flimsi was a note waiting for her. Picking up the Flimsi, she looked down at the clear handwriting of Woffle. Plo and himself had decided to let her miss the briefing to sleep. He told her to meet up with him at the hanger once she woke up and they would grab food. Grabbing her twin bronze and silver lightsabers and clipping them to her belt, she made her way out of Woffle's room and down the long halls of the barracks. Her long raven hair fell loose from its braid, so as she walked her finger combed her hair, letting the thick waves fall down her back. Calica pulled herself together, cleaning up her face and putting in a regal air, she walked the halls like the Jedi she was. She passed Troopers as she went, giving them nods in return to the salutes they gave her. She respected these men and in return they respected her. She never saw them as anything less than equal.
Making her way down the twists and turns of the barracks Calica found herself at the front doors facing the Jedi Temple. The temple was already in repair, droids and workers fixing the walls that had been blown apart in the bombing. Just the sight of the charred walls made her stomach twist. Glancing away, she looked back down at the pathway below that led to where the speeders and transports were housed on the Clone Barracks trying to catch a glimpse of Woffle's armor in the sea of plastoid that moved about. As she walked heard some clones in either a heated or spirited and loud debate once she entered the hanger. Looking around to find the owners of the voices she saw Boost holding Comet in a headlock, Warthog and Sinker howling with laughter as the young clone thrashed around. He slammed his fists into the leg armor of Boost, trying to break free from the grip of his older Vod. Calica crossed her arms over her chest and leaned more on her right foot as she watched it unfold. Comet got a solid hit to Boost's stomach, making the older clone loosen his hold slightly, enough for Comet to break free, shoving him backwards into Sinker who growled at the contact. He took a swing at Comet who ducked in time, only for Warthog to take the blow. Soon all four clones were yelling and shouting, fists flying as they jumped each other.
"Oi! That's enough!" Calica shouted, clapping her hands together to get their attention. The four clones pulled themselves apart, slight shoves here and there as they stood tall.
"Commander!" Sinker said with a salute, trying to hold onto any scrap of dignity they had left.
"What the kirf is going on here?" She questioned, looking each one in the eyes.
"Well you see-"
"Comet decided that-"
"You shut up, you weren't-"
"I will punch you again-"
"That's not what happened-"
"Say that to my face you-!"
Calica threw her hands up in the air, using the Force to push the clones apart. "Enough! Forget I asked." She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as she shook her head. The four hung their heads, Boost kicking his foot out, Comet cleaning imaginary dirt from his chest.
"Sorry Commander." They all said in unisecent shyly.
"Do any of you know where Wolffe is?" Asked Calica as she looked around the hanger. Before any of them could speak a deep booming voice spoke up from behind.
"I'm right here." Wolffe's expression was hard, yet a hint of humor lingering in his eyes. "Someone had to file a report on a gun torrent that somehow malfunctioned early this morning while Boost and Comet were on guard duty." He continued, giving the two troopers a pointed look that made Calica chuckle softly. That's when she noticed the hint of a bacta patch poking out from under the collar of Comet's blacks and Boost with a small patch at his hairline above his left eyebrow.
"Maker above, what did you do, blow up with the torrent?" A roll of her eyes followed a dramatic sigh. Their cheeks turned a bright red, comet rubbing the back of his neck as he glanced at Boost.
"It's just a scratch Vod'ika." Comet spoke first.
"Don't worry over it. We're fine." Boost finished with a wave of his hand. Wolffe gave them a grunt, clearing not believing but didn't say anything. He laid a hand on Calica's shoulder, trying to turn her towards him and away from his brothers.
"One day, you two will be the death of me." She joked before Wolffe grabbed her arm, pulling her a few steps away from the men.
"You can yell at them later. I'm hungry and I want to go to Dexter." His grumpy voice called to her as he tugged her along. Claina laughed, really laughed for the first time since the bombing, and allowed Wolffe to pull her away from their group in search of the wonderfully greasy food that only Dexter's could offer. Getting into her speeder, Wolffe in the passenger seat, she flew them off to Dexter's. The wind whipped around them as she drove, Calica throwing her worries to it so she could enjoy this morning with her Vod.
"Did you sleep okay?" Wolffe's voice cut into her thoughts. Claica spared him a quick glance before looking back at the traffic.
"I slept well enough. Thanks Vod." Wolffe only hummed in response instead of pushing further. Silence filled the speeder again as she drove, a question pulling at her though until she finally gave in.
"Who came to the door last night?"
"Rex." Was his one worded answer.
"The Captain of the 501st?" It wasn't really a question, she knew of Rex through Wolffe and Ahsoka, but never had the chance to actually meet him. But Wolffe nodded his head regardless as he replied.
"The very one." Realizing she would want more information he pressed on. "This whole thing, losing his Commander, seeing his General lose his student… well, let's just say you and Rex are more alike than I thought."
Glancing at him quickly with a raised brow before looking back at the traffic, she quickly spoke up. "How do you mean?"
Wolffe turned so he was looking at her, even though she couldn't look him in the eyes as he spoke. "You both care for others without question. Even if it means becoming hurt in the end. It doesn't stop you… either of you."
His words hang heavily between them. They set on her heart like a stone, unsure if it weighed her down or brought her comfort. She knew others, some maybe more so than her, hurt from the happenings of the past few days. But she released the Captain came to his older brother's door last night looking for comfort, for words of encouragement or peace and Wolffe stood by him even as he stood by her in her time of pain. Pulling into the parking lot at Derek's, she shut off her speeder and laid a hand on Wolffe's arm before he stepped out of the vehicle.
"You care too, even if you don't truly want to admit you do."

Tell me about your Star Wars OCs?
this is a tall order... watch me forget someone
mains
Tumblr media
rkorya, sith warrior - proud, self-assured, bloodthirsty and far more loyal than she is ambitious, she's extremely powerful and a talented warrior, but lacks fine control in the force due to her training being deliberately sabotaged. she was her family's only hope to maintain their precarious status as minor nobility, and succeeded in this role... and just happened to be isolated, pressured, and used as a pawn for nearly every step of the way. despite that, she's endured and survived and made herself too implacable to really be challenged. she loves the empire (and what she thinks it can become) and is blind to all the damage it's done to her, but she's also someone all the darths have to step very lightly around. My Favourite, has the bulk of my fic and several adjacent timelines of what happens with her (in one she sacrifices herself and becomes a sword ghost slowly moving through history)
Tumblr media
shenrihn, jedi knight - quiet, distant and superficially calm - but judgmental, fiercely aggressive in battle, and driven by fear and resentment, they're rather infamous as a jedi for having emerged from the prison planet of belsavis, where they had been in stasis for 20,000 years. once a slave of the infinite empire of the rakata, they navigated the stars and found life-rich planets for conquest, but were put into stasis for study when the rakata's force sensitivity began to wane. the jedi order took custody of them after their discovery, and they eventually became a padawan... but finding the peace promised to them proved very difficult. their story is in limbo after finishing the class story because they would rather avoid all plot forever, but I'm cultivating a very mean au where they end up in the sith inquisitor story instead
significant ocs
vitnako, twi'lek smuggler - witty, laidback, radiates Just A Guy energy, but has a ruthless streak when cornered. an expert on reinventing himself and cutting and running due to a tough past on hutta and being the only one who managed to get out of there. only loosely connected to the class story because it's either sexist or ridiculous, but he's out there dodging the law and having a good time
netethei, chiss agent - Officially The Worst. cheerful, amiable and easily entertained, she's difficult to read due to how genuine her amusement is - but it can easily come at the cost of those around her. she was recruited by the empire after selling a diplomat's scandals and secrets out, and she's currently keeping herself from stepping out of line... but all of her fellow agents hate her anyways
meyrikh, pureblood sith apprentice - secretive, jealous, an insecure mess. child of a family found to be plotting treason, she and her older siblings were sold into slavery, and all of the adults killed. she eventually managed to become an apprentice, but any advantage her lineage might have granted her is outweighed by how uncomfortable her existence makes every traditional sith. her sole talent is in going unseen, but still not as often as she would like. kept in limbo because I want to think of a good master for her still
tashram, togruta sith lord - weary, vengeful, bitter, and stubborn. an attempt on her life by an upstart rival has her crash onto an agrarian planet in the middle of nowhere. laying low slowly turns to actually making a life for herself here rather than risk returning to sith politics. has an extremely wip fic project about how she becomes a farmer, and the connections she makes
the twi'lek pirate crew - barely represented on my blog, but a collection of twi'leks (and one zabrak) created by one of my friends handing me a bunch of adoptables. I don't have much of substance on them but I think they're cool
characters in name only
kymet, mirialan trooper - a republic trooper for the class story
chotal, miraluka jedi consular - a consular for the class story! I actually really enjoy the story but cannot think of a good oc for it yet so here we are
yskra, rattataki bounty hunter - an oc I made in tandem with a friend, but he's not playing currently so she's in limbo. a survivor of rattatak's fighting arenas, trying to make a future through bounty hunting with her partner

Ahsoka x Fem!Reader One-shot - Coming Home

Angst/Fluff/Comfort
______________
This is the part of your being together that you hate, waiting for Ahsoka to return from one of her Fulcrum missions. This uncertainty of if and when she will come back to you, every time, is nerve-wracking. Often she can't even check in from the road, sometimes you don't know for days if she's still alive.
You're almost sure you're going to break at some point, but you definitely don't want to give up on your relationship.
You are so relieved when you look out the window and see Ahsoka's shuttle landing. Expectant and impatient, you rush to the door, yank it open, and run out toward the shuttle. As Ahsoka steps out of the shuttle, however, your smile fades. The expression on the former Jedi's face is somber, melancholy.
"What happened?" you ask softly as she stands before you.
Ahsoka shakes her head ponderously, walking past you to the small hut that currently serves as your shelter. You follow her anxiously, closing the door behind you both and watching as she paces restlessly.
"Ahsoka, please talk to me. You've been gone so long. What's wrong?"
She looks at you and there is a deep pain in her gaze that you can hardly bear. Ahsoka is usually anything but easily upset. You're seriously worried.
"I found my former master," she says softly.
You blink and frown questioningly.
"That's good, isn't it? He's alive? Shouldn't you be happy?"
Again, the beautiful Togruta just shakes her head, rubbing her temples as if she has a headache.
"I suspected it," she says, "sensed it, but chose not to believe it, but now I know for sure."
Helpless and worried, you ask her, "What are you talking about, dear?"
"Skywalker is Vader," she says somberly, her hands clenched into fists, the expression on her face a mixture of helplessness and anger.
You're at a loss for words at first. You can barely grasp the significance of this statement, how hard this realization must hit Ahsoka.
"Oh 'Soka," you say softly and reach for her hands, gently unclenching her fists to hold her hands.
"I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't left the Order, maybe I could have stopped it".
You place a hand under her chin and gently but firmly force her to look at you, holding the gaze of her beautiful blue eyes with yours. Her beautiful face is right in front of yours and as always you can't help but admire how gorgeous she is, even in this doubtful, sad state, as if nothing could take away from her natural elegance. At first sight she seems so delicate, but you know that inside this pretty shell there is an upright fighting spirit, a skilled warrior. But even the strongest fighters need comfort and guidance now and then.
"Don't do this Ahsoka, this 'what if' road is a dead end. You were a Padawan, he was a trained Jedi Master, he made that decision alone."
Ahsoka says quietly, "He needed me and I let him down".
"That's not true. You made a decision, one that was right and important to you. At no point were you responsible for Skywalker's decisions or his career"
Ahsoka sighs softly, moves closer and wraps her arms around your middle, leaning her head against yours. The embrace is tender and yet also yearning for comfort. You know that she is really suffering right now, not knowing how to deal with what she has experienced.
"I need you now," she says almost in a whisper.
You smile softly, relieved and glad that she seeks comfort from you. You return the embrace tenderly and say, "I'm right here with you, 'Soka."
You hold each other for quite a while before retreating to the sofa bed, snuggling into one of the blankets, snuggled together, talking for quite a while. It's not easy, but you manage to keep Ahsoka from dissolving into self-doubt.
Ahsoka's head is on your shoulder, one of your arms wrapped around her, one of her legs hooked under yours. She takes your hand and gently kisses the back of it.
"What would I do without you?"
You laugh softly and say, "Probably take on way too much responsibility."
"Probably," Ahsoka agrees quietly.
After a while of silence, she suddenly says, "I don't regret leaving the Order. If I hadn't, I probably never would have met you. You know how much you mean to me, don't you?"
You tenderly hug her a little closer and hum contentedly.
"I know, 'Soka, I feel the same way," you finally say softly.
She giggles as you gently place a kiss between her montrals.
"That tickles"
"I know," you say, amused, and graze the same spot again.
Ahsoka turns and leans over you, she smiles then gently leans her forehead against yours and says, "I'm so glad I have you. Even if you are quite cheeky sometimes. Coming back to you, always feels like coming home, no matter where we are"

High Fantasy Clone Wars on Heroforge Sneak Peeks
Tagging everyone who expressed interest: @whyoneartheven @anime-obsessed @majorproblems77
Eventually I will post all the finished pieces but FOR NOW! Have some ✨sneak peeks✨ (mostly... mostly the Clones. i had to do my boys first you know :] )
Tumblr media
The ✨Disaster Duo✨ because I had to. There's a lot of detail in this one alone, even though it's a simpler piece, so I'm really proud of it
Tumblr media
✨Ahsoka✨. Or, at least, her face. Because it's a High Fantasy now, there aren't really... aliens... so I'm adapting the various races into different cultures scattered across the kingdom far, far away, which explains her facepaint and headscarf. (I might make a public Google Doc so i can get all the information in one place, because the few Togruta headcanons I have I find very interesting :D )
Tumblr media
✨Fives✨ who... isn't perfectly canonically accurate but you gotta work with what you've got in Heroforge. And I am very proud of him. And he is one of my favorite Clones. So there. Also he has a flail because I think he deserves one (actually, all the Clones fight with a different weapon in this series! it's really time-consuming to fiddle with but it's been fun thinking about who would wield what :D )
Tumblr media
THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND. ✨REX✨. NEED I SAY MORE.
Tumblr media
And uh... here's Waxer, who I'm putting for funsies because Heroforge wierdly distorted his face when I copied him from the original Clone model (because I took a page out of the kaminoans' book and made a single Clone model and I keep copying that to make each new Clone, so I can ensure their faces are identical) and while he still looks like the rest of them, his expression made me CACKLE. So. ✨Waxer.✨
Anyway, let me know what you think! And feel free to ask questions because I LOVE to answer them! I'm going to post actual pictures eventually, don't worry, I'm just waiting to finish the Clones because I want to do a side-by-side comparison of each one so you can see their similarities and differences. Thank you for your time!

On the subject of Lightsabers:
I have lightsaber references! All on heroforge obviously, because I cannot draw blades, and with notes that mark their most distinguishing trait. SOme of these are colors, others are blade type, it really just depends on the most interesting thing about the blade. I'll put notes on how they differ from how they look in the AU in the notes, because obviously Heroforge only has so many blade options and they don't all look exactly like I see them in my mind. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
The Disaster Trio
Obi has a sword and shield because Soresu is a defensive form. His shield and the crossbar of his sword are both based on the crest of the Jedi Order. In AU Canon, this is more obvious.
Ahsoka has twin daggers because her fighting style is highly acrobatic, and full length swords would make that... rather dangerous; to save space I only put one of the pair. In season 7, Anakin replaces the Kyber Crystals in her original daggers, so they are technically the same daggers but now they burn the same blue as his saber.
Anakin's sword is a dual-handed greatsword, because his form is very aggressive and relies a lot on hacking away at your opponent and physically overpowering them. Also something something dual-edged sword, something something foreshadowing.
Tumblr media
Male Jedi
Kit's flame is less a flame and more of watery magic. This is because he is of an aquatic race, and I thought it was cool :D
Yoda has a rapier because his form is very acrobatic and rapiers lend well to that.
Not going to lie, I struggled with Ki-Adi's saber, so I made his really unique in that his blade is darker than the flame that burns by a drastic amount.
MACE okay so. My guy has an executioner sword, because he is the Arbiter Of Justice (tm). Also, these kinds of swords have blunted ends and aren't meant to be used in combat, meaning that for Mace to actually use it as a weapon he needs incredible skill. Which he has. I love Mace Windu :D
Tumblr media
Lady Jedi
Shaak's blade is supposed to be wavy like Ahsoka's daggers; wavy blades are a symbol of the Togruta in this AU. However, Heroforge didn't have any good options for this >:(
Barriss's and Luminara's swords have hilts made of Mirialan metalwork- Mirialan metal is fired with special potions that turn it special shades of red and green and gold. It is almost as valued as Mandalorian stained glass in the Galactic Archipelago. If you look closely, the little you can see of Luminara's bracers is also made of Mirialan metalwork.
Tumblr media
Grievous's CoLlEcTiOn *cough hack whEEZE*
My favorite is the midnight blue one >:)
I have nothing else to add, I literally just designed sabers I thought looked freaking cool. If you want to make up lore for them, PLEASE do, I'd love to see it :D
Tumblr media
Sith
THE DARKSABER okay so it has lightning instead of a flame because I wanted to replicate those crackles that it has. Anyway I think it looks really cool :D Also the serrated edge? *chef's kiss*
Dooku's saber is a rapier because it's the Gentleman's Fire Sword. However it does not look exactly like this in AU canon; I have a Dooku drawing ref in the works and when I post that I can explain it better. Also it is modeled on Yoda's because I really want to play up that Fallen Jedi Angst >:)
Ventress's sickles (much like Ahsoka, I only put one here to save space) is highly based on her Nightsister heritage. Even when she was a Padawan, I think she had that inspiration in her Jedi blade. Their blades are shaped like moons, and even her force signature is tinged with Nightsister Green (because her dark side powers also incorporate Nightsister Magick; if they didn't, they'd be pure blood-red, because it's important to me for Lore Reasons (tm) that while Jedi can have this whole array of colors, Sith all have the same shade of red).
Tumblr media
Original Trilogy Bois
Luke's green force signature is tinged with blue because I will always associate Luke Skywalker with blue. Don't ask me why. But Luke is BLUE and I will DIE ON THIS HILL. FIGHT ME.
Vader's saber is based on his greatsword from when he was Anakin, because I think he got attatched to the design. Also because I want that visual motif of "Anakin is still buried in there" because I am a sucker for symbolism and metaphors. But you know that already ;)
I don't have Anakin's original (and by original i mean like his umpteenth) saber, AKA Luke's first saber, because it's basically the same as we saw earlier, and these swords were TIME CONSUMING to render. However, I will note that the very tips of the flames on that saber begin to be tinged with sith red because of the atrocities Anakin committed with it. Someday I'll have a picture of it for you and you'll see what I mean
I don't have Old Obi's either, because again, TIME. CONSUMING. TO. RENDER. But it's basically the same as it was in the Clone Wars, just more corroded because my man was living in the desert.
If I cared enough to make Palpatation's saber (see i call him that because he gives me heart palpitations of rage) it would be here. But I do not. So it is not
(Okay. Yes he has a Saber in this AU I just haven't made it yet because I am Mad At Him)

Writer 20 Questions
Thank you for the tag @ninjasawakenedmystar !!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
83
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
278,714. TCWGANV definitely takes the bulk of that.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mainly Star Wars but I have written a few Undertale fics as well.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1) The Clone Wars Gets A New Victim
2) our last goodbye
3) i changed to save you (but i was too late)
4) quiet fire
5) The Red Scarf
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try my best too but sometimes I get just overwhelmed with happiness and can't figure out a way to word a response.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Without going through all my fics I just want to say TCWGANV because it hasn't failed to make me cry and I wrote the ending to it almost two years ago now. However the ending is probably a lot more bittersweet than angsty. So it would probably be one will die (before he gets there)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Tumblr media
A Happy Ending For Everyone (Except Palpatine)
Which is an old fic but I barely write happy stories 😅
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
Yes. I've gotten hate for TCWGANV and our last goodbye. Most of the hate goes for TCWGANV though, which is especially aimed at Grim. Who has of course, gotten hate outside of my fics with her.
9. Do you write smut?
No.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I have a couple Star Wars x Undertale crossover fics. I actually recently decided to redo the entire AU awhile ago but never finished the concept art for it. Here's my togruta Toriel design for this AU actually:
Tumblr media
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of fortunately.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No I haven't. It would be cool if someone did translate one of my fics though.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
I have not, and although it could be interesting, I think I'd end up getting stuck with how I saw the story going.
14. What‘s your all-time favourite ship?
I'm not going to lie probably grimsoka.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
That's actually probably a good portion of my WIPs. Soldier In Peacetimes was an interesting Time Travel AU though that could have a nice ending if I ever got back to it.
16. What’s your writing strengths?
Definitely dialogue! Although I would also say probably just scenes that really dive into a character's emotional pain as well. I love hurting my blorbos <3
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
Describing what a character looks like. I know I don't have to do that for the majority of canon characters but I rarely, if ever, describe what Grim looks like 😭
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I think it depends on the fic tbh. I haven't really done this before. Except now I'm struggling in ALATL because of the beginning of Return Of The Jedi and all the huttese.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Undertale! (Although this was before I had A03)
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
The Clone Wars Gets A New Victim. I think it's always going to have a special place in my heart. It's my longest fic and was the first time I really finished a multichapter story. I don't think even As Long As There's Light is going to replace TCWGANV in my heart.
I'm tagging: @jedi-valjean @jgvfhl @shrinkthisviolet @veradragonjedi @darth-caillic and anyone else who wants to do this!

What if….the clones weren’t human?
So I saw this fic awhile ago and can’t find it so I’m doing this instead.
In the fandom there’s this headcanon/fanon idea that the clones are just slightly different. Not in a way that is noticeable to natborns but in subtle ways. Like, most clones are around 6ft~ or 1.8m~ with 2 inches or 5 cm in either direction. So you’ve got clones that are “little brothers” because they’re like 5’10 when all their batchmates and squad mates are 6ft or over.
I love, think it’s really cool. I also like the idea that some clones were genetically altered for specific tasks. Like scouts with cat like eye sight, Kit Fisto’s troops having bigger lungs and are generally more dense weight wise. Command batches just being a CT+, ie taller, stronger, more durable, faster.
That’s cool but the Star Wars galaxy is FILLED with so many different species. There had to be more bounty hunters that met the requirements. A togruta is a better hunter than a human any day, nautolan or mon calimari would be better as a SCUBA division. Trandoshans or lasats are known for being excellent warriors and hunters.
There’s just so much room for potential. There could be human Jango clones but also togruta, nautolan, twi-lek, wookiee, lasats and just about any species you can find in the wiki or make up. The sky’s the limit!
And think of the angst. We all known most of the Jedi saw the clones as people and we see that a majority of the galaxy is made up of human and human adjacent beings. How would togruta Jedi take seeing little togruta children and not having the culture they had. Just. The possibilities!

The Clone Wars 4.13 ‘Escape from Kadavo’ Reaction Take 2
Tumblr media
This scene of the slave camp in the Kadavo mines was brutal. Or at least I’m assuming they're mines of some sort, what with the shovelling of coal and minecarts being pushed around by the enslaved Togruta colonists.
Tumblr media
More Obi-Wan and Rex whump. Aw yisssssssssss
Tumblr media
I know he’s just been hit with an electro staff but Rex really does look like he’s lounging on the coal pile. It also looks like he's wearing a skirt. I know it's a tunic that's part of the Zygerrian outfit but Rex's legs are looking particularly nice in it. More skirts for clones!
Does Dooku’s space ship have sails? This is reminding me of something but I can’t quite place it. Possibly a different sci-fi story or universe?
How does R2-D2 manage to roll around everywhere without getting spotted or detained?
“Dooku is not my master.” Honey, that is denial.
Anakin just yeeting himself over the edge of the balcony.
How did that Zygerrian not die on impact after being hurled that far off the balcony by Anakin?
“I’m listening.” Dooku is keen for more Obi-Wan despair.
That line from the Zygerrian queen about Obi-Wan’s efforts to help people only hurting them was rough yet also had some element of truth to it. Hmmmm.
Tumblr media
Poor Obi-Wan looks so sad in the enslaved bunk room that they’ve all been put in. Though the Zygerrian queen is busy monologuing about breaking his spirit at this point, so I suppose that makes sense.
Dooku has so much sass. It must be a disaster lineage thing.
The music in this episode was just fantastic. The music in The Clone Wars, and The Bad Batch, has been consistently excellent and the Kiner’s have done an amazing job. But this episode was even another step up on top of that. The fantastical theme that’s playing in the background as Anakin frees Ahsoka by lifting up her cage really elevated (heh) the moment.
Tumblr media
Ahsoka just casually using the Force to break off her slave collar like it’s nothing.
A betrayal by your most faithful servant? Who would’ve thought!
The soap opera-espe way the Zygerrian queen screamed and threw her space martini on the floor was hilariously over the top.
Tumblr media
Did Anakin really just walk into a confrontation with Dooku without a lightsaber? Or did he think he’d just be able to magically get it from the Zygerrian queen without Dooku noticing? More of the famed ‘no plan’ approach from Anakin.
“I see the queen has given you a long leash.” ahahahaha the snark.
Anakin just yeeting himself backwards through a giant glass window.
Yes, you’re also a slave. Took you long enough to realise it.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the “I’m no Jedi” moment has arrived!
More excellent Obi-Wan and Rex whump. Yassssssssss
Tumblr media
There’s just something about Rex on his knees. Mmmmmmmm.
“Still afraid to get your hands dirty.” CACKLING
Wow, they did not hesitate to blow up the Zygerrian ship that Anakin and Ahsoka arrived on Kadavo in. Instantly started blasting.
“We’ll get through the old fashioned way.” Rip that door.
Rex looks so pissed at Dooku.
Ow, poor R2 getting blasted in the foot.
Anakin is absolutely not listening to Obi-Wan here, and for once that’s probably a good thing. His line about “I’ve had enough bargaining with slave drivers.” makes it pretty clear that he’s done with all of this.
Tumblr media
“Who said I was alone?” which leads us to...
PLO
What a fanfare for their arrival. That is definitely a ‘the heroes have arrived to save the day’ moment.
Wolf Leader to Wolf Pack AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
Hey Warthog!
Tumblr media
“About time.” Rex is ready to kick some arse.
Even Plo’s fighter is painted in the Wolf Pack pattern. Buir loves his sons very much.
Anakin just casually booting in a giant circle of metal like it’s nothing.
“We’ll need a bigger ship.” something something Jaws reference
Ok, I swear I have seen Obi-Wan use the same manoeuvre that Anakin just used that finishes with stabbing the enemy behind you while facing away from them. It feels awfully familiar. Seeing as Anakin was Obi-Wan’s padawan, it makes sense that Anakin would use some of the same fighting styles and movements as Obi-Wan, even though they ended up specialising in different lightsaber fighting forms.
Tumblr media
What an absolutely badass move by Plo. Getting R7 to cut the engines to tumble backwards behind the enemy so that he could take them out from behind.
Fuck that blast shot from the canon just hit the clone flying that LAAT/i in the head. That was brutal.
Tumblr media
Yas Rex, beat the shit out of that Zygerrian slaver!
Well that’s not gone well.
Tumblr media
Omg that’s the moment Rex stabs the first Zygerrian slaver with his own electro staff. He just whirls around and stabs him with the Zygerrian slaver behind him. Also, the look afterwards. That glare. I am on the floor.
Tumblr media
Rex fighting that Zygerrian slaver is just So. Damn. Hot. And then he headbutts him with the most perfect keldabe kiss. And then the way he just stands there afterwards and gets a hero pose with the camera framing him from below. Sir. Please. Have mercy.
The music is so good here. It’s really heightening everything and taking it all up a notch. Several notches even.
Ahsoka just magically knowing how to open the doors to the enslaved Togruta colonists. Blah blah movie magic blah blee yes I know.
Anakin looked so disgruntled at the canons having ray shields. Not worried. Like it was an irritation. How dare the canons ruin my fun with ray shields. Booooo.
WOLFFE
Tumblr media
Finally get a good look at Wolffe’s bucket and he’s got 3 gold rectangles above his left eye, which isn’t the one he lost to Ventress. He’s also got funny looking spikey shapes beneath the lower split of his visor. Are those supposed to be fangs Wolffe? Oh, and there’s some triangles along the sides as well, under what passes for cheekbones on his bucket. His visor is also narrower than the other clones. It’s got a raised white lining around the outside. I wonder what that’s for. It's a different shape too.
Hello to the other two Wolf Pack clones in the background. I don’t think I’ve seen the marking of the one on the left but his helmet looks cool. The markings kind of look similar-ish to the Rishi eel on Fives’ bucket. Maybe this is Comet? Just checked Wookieepedia and yup, it's Comet. Hi Comet! I wonder what the design on his bucket is. Does anyone know?
The other Wolf Pack clone looks pretty standard apart from the grey lower sections of his bucket (which Wolffe also has) so I’m going to go with this being Sinker based on what I could see of their armour paint in 4.5 ‘Mercy Mission’.
Admiral Coburn seems about as no nonsense as Wolffe. I can see them getting along fairly well.
I don’t think that cruiser is a Venator. It doesn’t look big enough. Just checked Wookieepedia and it looks more like an Arquitens-class light cruiser.
Omg the “I’m no Jedi” scene has arrived.
“I know a Jedi won’t killed an unarmed man.” Obi-Wan: Have you met my very much not-a-Jedi friend?
Tumblr media
The way Obi-Wan looks over at Rex like he’s the loophole out of this situation.
Batman baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam
Tumblr media
Rex just flings that electro staff like it’s nothing. He impales the Zygerrian slaver through his own chair. This post by @nikolaislanstovs has some fantastic contributions from @thatfunkyopossum, @norcumii and @anundine that break down just how strong Rex is in this scene. That electro staff isn’t pointed. It’s blunt. And Rex still hurls it through the Zygerrian slaver and through the back of his thick chair (that is presumably made of some kind of metal) so the entire head of the electro staff and more is sticking out of the back of the chair. The strength. Sir, please contain yourself. Actually, no. Don’t. Your particular brand of unhinged is perfect.
Tumblr media
I’M NO JEDI
AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA OMG REX. SIR. OMG. You can impale me anytime.
As much as I love this moment, I expected it to be more. It’s another one of those major moments in the lives of the clones that end up being very brief moments in the show. I’ve rambled on about this before, most recently in 4.10 ‘Carnage of Krell’ so I’m going to stop myself before I keep blithering on about the same point.
That Zygerrian slaver and his silly hover chair made a particularly satisfying thunk when they crashed into the screen.
That is a tight fit for the cruiser. Good parking job whichever clone was flying.
Look at the Wolf Pack run along the top of the cruiser!
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaaaah they’ve got jet packs and Wolffe's kama is flapping behind him and he leaps off the top of the cruiser like a superhero and aaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
Look at them all leap into the air and fly around! I love them all!
Tumblr media
That’s a squad of 5 from the Wolf Pack. I wonder who they all are. Ok one of them is the clone with the somewhat Rishi eel style paint so I’m just going to run with the idea that it’s Comet. Oh, turns out the triangles on the sides of Wolffe’s bucket look like teeth. We get it Wolffe. You’re a wolf. Bless him. The paint on his vambraces and upper arm armour is also grey and finishes in spikes. Plus I think he has the same 3 gold rectangles above his eye on the other side (so the eye that he did lose to Ventress). He’s also got a tiny upside down red triangle in the middle of the forehead of his bucket. Fives had the same one. I wonder if this means something, or is supposed to denote something. Is this an ARC trooper thing? Wookieepedia doesn’t list Wolffe as an ARC but he’s got a kama so I’m going to go with the theory that he is one.
Tumblr media
Ahsoka saving the falling Togruta colonist by catching them physically and with the Force. More canonical evidence for my Tech is saved by a Jedi headcanon.
How are the Togruta colonists not shredding their hands sliding down the cables?
Wolf Pack clones saving the other falling Togruta colonists by catching them using their jet packs! More canonical evidence for the Tech saves himself with the secret jetpack he’s made in his pack headcanon.
The Wolf Pack clone that saved the Togruta with long montrals had grey paint on the bottom section of their bucket so let’s assume that’s Sinker.
“That’s everyone. We have to go. The facility’s breaking up.” He’s so gruff and no nonsense and grumpy. I love Wolffe so much.
The music is so grand and triumphant here. It’s been so damn good this whole episode.
Obi-Wan looking like an absolute wreck. Man keeps loosing robes in more ways than one. At least Cody doesn’t have to pick it up off the battlefield this time.
“Surviving this will only strengthen the people.” Hmmmmm. That’s not always the case. Speaking from personal experience here. What doesn’t kill you doesn’t always make you stronger.
You can see Plo, Anakin, Rex, Obi-Wan and Wolffe standing in the background having a conversation. I can just picture Wolffe giving Rex so much shit for his Zygerrian outfit. The commander's group chat is going to have a field day after this. There’s going to be so much ribbing.
