meet the sims-blackwood family!! this is set post-200 in a new world where the fears are weaker and more hidden in the shadows, but quickly building strength as more avatars and artifacts are born. meet blaire and not-adam, two students in jon’s homeroom and english class!

the student ocs i created here are

-a transfem student who straight up doesnt have a name. you can call her anything but her deadname. its a fun game the class plays. it started as a gag but jon went “yeah okay ive seen weirder and kids deserve a chance to explore” so he comes up with a different name every day during roll call. shes v chaotic and inspired (personality wise, not funky name lore) by an irl friend of mine

-the student she has a crush on and is best friends with, an AP art student who uses they/she pronouns

they both eat lunch in Jon’s classroom, where they eventually notice that he never really eats much? just. reads a book in his free time, maybe has cereal bars occasionally

they form really close bonds with jon and he sponsors their lgbt club,,,, the second student realizes she’s agender when hes explaining the ace spectrum,,,,,, they come across The Horrors that were released when jmart moved on to Somewhere Else and he saves them,,,,,,,,, after they start to understand that “something spooky is here bc of mr sims but he was a victim in it” they sneakily start categorizing what they call “The Horrors” into 9 groups and get into shenanigans. they save jon at some point

their romance follows the plot of jmart’s but jon notices student B treating student A like he did martin at the start of the year and intervenes

so theyre healthier

(maybe jmart adopt student b, as they’re in a rlly unsafe home environment and thats why they started lashing out at their buddy)

at the beginning of the year student A knows shes trans but isnt sure what name to use. her buddy suggests not-adam (as she isnt suuuper uncomfy with her deadname, just that its too masc for her) so they call her that for a good bit and it comes up occasionally until they learn about the fears and the joke kinda. sours.

jon called her anything but that. not-adam thought it was because he didnt want to deadname her (and she insisted she was cool with it and thought it was funny) but she said that he can use a name that isnt adam, just not to stick to one bc she didnt want to feel boxed in

so the joke of her being anything but adam began

!!! WHAT IF NOT ADAM HAS AN ENCOUNTER WITH A STRANGER OBJECT THAT MAKES EVERYONE UNABLE TO SEE OR REMEMBER HER??? AND (character B) IS THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERS HER BUT STILL CANT SEE HER!!!! AND THIS IS HOW JON REVEALS HE KNOWS STUFF ABOUT THE SUPERNATURAL

student b breaks down only a couple days in when she realized something was deeply, truly wrong, earing lunch (seemingly) alone with jon in his classroom. she says something with “not-adam” and “nobody remembers her but me” and jon’s trauma plus eye powers helps break his illusion, even though he doesnt remember her still

WHAT IF THIS IS AROUND WHEN NOT ADAM IS STARTING TO SEE HIM AS A FATHER

he adopts her bc she still legally doesnt exist and her family doesnt remember her , and its not like jmart already have fake identities anyways. they break the curse but everyone but B and Jon are completely wiped of her memory, just can finally see her now. its a mush of stranger, spiral, and lonely bc the horrors work different here

…she eventually settles on a name because she desperately needs to be reminded that they know her, they remember her, and that they remember all of her. (jon doesnt remember *everything* still, but most. every now and then she or B references something and they pause when they realize it was another memory lost to The Horrors)

oh also jon wears combat boots bc of daisy now. unrelated but important

im realizing my plan of them adopting B is a little funky with them adopting not-adam. however, unconventional found family prevails in tma. B just stays at their house most of the time bc she is neglected a lot at home so it usually isnt noticed when she disappears. theyre both 16 so fighting for custody when they can move out so soon is deemed too much stress on the teens. not-adam’s family actually are v loving and great, they just. dont remember NA. they dont remember how to love her, that they ever did

(thats why B needed to remember her. also, the effect intended of the horror was to torture NA until she died unnoticed and she will either be remembered by everyone when her body is found or will rot unseen until shes gone. or become an avatar, if she chose to embrace it. B was an intended victim of the leitner, the fear of nobody believing you and losing someone you love feed the Horrors)

(jon and his funky eye powers are likely the only reason NA didnt die)

in the end A picks the name astrid, but jon still calls her any name he can think of that starts with A when calling her down for food n stuff

anyways jmart unofficially adopting queer teens bc found family is so themcore but i *know* the fates would never allow them to do anything conventionally or fully legal

disclaimer this will get Very long. majority will be under the cut. this will be very personal

i didn't grow up seeing lgbt media, only glimpses of gay fanart and fanfiction, created by fans. openly gay or trans characters in media didn't really exist when i was a child, and when they were, it was all homophobic and transphobic stereotypes, meant to get a laugh out of the cishet audience.

i grew up in a society where being gay (or trans), was a bad, shameful thing to be. the very first time i came out to anyone, it was my best friend in 7th grade. i texted her, crying bc i was so ashamed of myself, and afraid of her reaction. i texted her, bc i couldn't bear to say it aloud. she was the only one i had told, for years.

It's terrifying to even think of outing yourself when your peers were like hungry wolves, taking any opportunity to find anything wrong with you. i was already fat, ugly, a teacher's pet, etc. I generally kept to myself, and other kids didn't like that. especially since i was poor, and would often show up to school in old, torn clothes every day. nooo way i felt safe enough to come out to anyone else, until a few years later in high school (which was still super scary btw!!)

imagine how i felt as a teenager, seeing Steven Universe on air, especially after the Ruby + Sapphire reveal. a kid's cartoon with largely female/nonbinary characters AND canon lesbians? with onscreen lesbian kisses? on the MOUTH?? nowadays it might seem silly to praise SU for its lgbt representation, when now there's a lot more (by comparison) of openly lgbt media. but i feel like people, esp young people who grew up alongside SU and other openly lgbt media, don't realize just how revolutionary (and recent!!) SU was for its time. SU had actually been cancelled shortly after the Rupphire wedding, for obvious reason. before then, people would jump thru hoops to say that Ruby and Sapphire were sisters, or just "very good friends" . other countries would censor their relationship or not air it at all. sadly, i still see the same happen to other sapphic characters/relationships, including seamoon.

All of this is to say, i just want to let out how important Sea Fairy and Moonlight, and their relationship, are to me.

I first learned about Cookie Run 6-7 years ago when kinning CR characters was a big thing on tumblr lol. one of my mutuals would post about it, and the characters i saw looked cute, so i went to the wiki to look at some more. immediately i was drawn to Moonlight Cookie, and getting her on the official CR personality quiz didnt help either lol

then when i saw Sea Fairy's page, and her mentioning her deep love of the moon, i immediately knew she was really talking about Moonlight, and that seamoon was intended to be canon. this was all before the relationship charts, mind you. all we had were Sea Fairy's inital LINE/Kakao release event, and both Sea Fairy's and Moonlight’s loading lines to go off of

even back then, people were upset at the possibility of them being in love, headcanoning them as sisters or just "best friends", others would say Sea Fairy was talking about the literal moon, or even the moon that Moonlight rides on...

frankly, it was obvious to I and many other sapphics that seamoon was canon. the moon affecting the sea's tide IRL, Sea Fairy being the legendary released after Moonlight, with her entire story up to that point was of a sea fairy who was cursed to be frozen upon trying to reach the moon she so loved. Both their lines referencing longing + loneliness, the City of Wizards and the Tower of Frozen Waves's proximity... it all added up.

finally, on November 14th 2019, Devsisters released the "I Want You Every Day" MV. where we finally get real confirmation of Sea Fairy and Moonlight's relationship, and especially Moonlight's reciprocation of Sea Fairy's feelings, with this legendary moment:

Elation, jubilation, vindication, ecstatic, the list goes on. literally where else am i supposed to find a character who's just like me, including being canonically sapphic?! to have a character i see so much of myself in, be confirmed to be in love and in a relationship with another woman, one who loves her so much as to literally go to the ends of the Earth(bread) for, i cannot find the words although LDRs arent for me, they are the reality for many lesbians, including my own at one point. seeing these two women continue to love each other unconditionally despite their distance, despite the very real reasons they cannot physically be together, brings me hope as a lesbian.

i hope that i too, can find a love that will always look to the sky, thinking of me. a love that will love me unconditionally, the way Sea Fairy loves Moonlight. a love that can bring me peace and comfort, the way that Moonlight does for Sea Fairy.

Also yeah I did realize I contradicted myself ToT by saying I wanted a break from Silent Reading type crime mystery realism stories, just to immediately go find poyun in chinese and the English translation (which is by like 3 groups so I'm piecing together where to find all chapters) and then go on bilibili to watch fanmade music videos

;-; I remember the leak like YEARS ago now that potentially Cheng Yi and Liu Xueyi would play the leads in poyun 2 tunhai adaptation that was getting made. Which I assume may never see the light of day... (but that'd absolutely be Dream scenario if it existed)

I remember back then, the leaks also came for Silent Reading's drama casting. With fei du being picked fairly consistently, but Luo wenzhou having multiple picks with the actual guy in Justice in The Dark not being any of the rumored guys. I remember being SO excited and scared for it because I LOVE Silent Reading and feared it would get made so poorly, cast so poorly, look as visually yikes as Granting You a Dreamlike life etc... and also I figured if only X danmei got to air (word of honor and 2ha being rumored back then) then I figured modus certainly wouldn't make the cut. Because it was full of content that'd be potentially censored. Not just gay stuff but a Lot. And then like... like an absolute miracle, a completely unpredictable unforseen possibility. It actually did air partly. During a year when technically no danmei at all did (post Word of Honor), because League of Nobleman may be bromance but as far as I'm aware wasn't adapted from a danmei novel so it wouldn't have the same Critical Eye on it (I'm assuming it's more a dmbj situation). And those 8 episodes? They were good. They were better than I ever even dared imagining was a possibility. They were more than I could've ever hoped, so much exactly what I would've wished if I'd ever dared to let myself wish (which I didnt). And because of that absolutely unforseen surprise, I'm still very stubbornly (probably clownishly) going to assume some day the rest releases. Please.

(Though rationally I think... if big budget well made 2ha's Immortality airs, or Sha Po Lang's cdrama airs, there's hope for bl danmei/dangai show releases again. I say that because frankly so much money and investment of quality was put into 2ha's Immortality that i imagine the company's who own it would like that monetary payoff if there is ANY way to still air it eventually. And once it does air, it will be a temperature gauge: does it get so popular or so much attention in negative ways that there's Another long term halt of danmei releases, like right after Word of Honor? Does it release relatively calmly like The Untamed and pave the way for the plethora of currently-held danmei cdramas to get to air afterward? If the second option is true, then it's likely Sha Po Lang will air soon after... or wait several months so they get more of their own hype without competition, and it's likely the Eons of less Anticipated danmei adaptations start releasing again with less intense scrutiny like The Way of The Bat, Of Mountains and Rivers, etc. So I think... if Immortality manages to release and fully air, it'll set the tone of what is released after for the next year+. And that drama I find most likely to release next, just because there's a lot of money in it. Then I guess... the wildcard prediction is Justice in the Dark fully drops at some point like magic again, stealing steam and attention... or another unexpected smaller production danmei adaptation dares to drop. Then because it gets so much attention as an Unanticipated but Only danmei out, that'll set the tone but the tone will probably still be "NO more" until a big danmei airs. That's my thought process anyway... a reaction to a big danmei adaptation may predict if other less big ones are allowed to easily air again, or if there will be none for a while. I saw that Marcus guy mention that there were rumors of Immortality trying to release this summer. But honestly? Who knows.

Now. If you want to believe in something as illogical and senseless as superstition. I made a bet that Immortality would air when my health issues improved. And well. I ate pizza for the first time again in like 3 years. I'm seriously considering maybe lowering my medicine dose soon. So lol based on my Completely Illogical superstition? I predict a release for Immortality in August to September, if it's this year.

As for Justice in the Dark? I desperately hope the companies involved straighten up their mess, and re-release and finish releasing with no warning asap. I would like to hope it just all leaks accidentally like Joy of Life did. But I think it's more likely (although still magically unpredictable) the show will just suddenly reappear, as randomly as it did the first time. It's a Well made fucking show. It's like a good budget crime kdrama, it's fucking excellent. So i hope it sees the light fully eventually.

Anyway just... I'm nostalgic from when all the news of danmei adaptations came out... and against many factors, I still wish somehow they do come out. I'd love to see Poyun realized as a show. I remember seeing Justice in the Dark the first day, and just blown away beyond any assumptions I couldve had, that the show was really everything me and fan made videos alike had envisioned for the novel in shoe form, and more.

It was on Valentines day, which basically felt like the Average Day for The Average Joe theirself, Tai. The quiet art kid who most kids were either intimidated by, Or Just liked to make Fun of Tai. Tai was used to it at this point though. Anyways Tai was sitting through another boring lecture by their English teacher while drawing and searching through the saltiest thing in their lunchbox To Tai's avail, before they had to get to their assignment the bell had rung. Tai shoved their things in their backpack, As they were on their way They saw a couple making out infront of eachother. Which made Tai cringe and just....keep walking.

"So much for it being fucking Valentines on a school day! Sometimes I'm reminded of how great full I am to be aromatic.."

Tai thought to theirself, Then had second thoughts...instead of making their way to their second period, They fled off campus, Tai didn't even know where the fuck they were going- what they were even running away from....They just decided to dissappear into the forest for...abit, in hopes nobody finds them

As Tai was walking along the faded trail all she felt she could do is just walk for miles untill she could barly see the school building it wasnt about how alone Tai was Tai didnt cae about that she'd rather get chopped by by a axe then date anyone here as she was walking sje stumbled upon a huge tree that had fallen on its side Tai climbed up onto the tree and she just sat on it admiring the woods this was her only safe place she had 10 extra minutes pass and Tai realized it was time for her to leave since school was out she didnt want her mom to question her so she jumpped off the tree stump and walked off as she was walking out of nowhere *CLING...CRACK* A thrown hatchet hit a redwood tree infront of Tai "Motherfuck..." Tai mumbled she looked back and *POW* The hatchet man hit her unconsious with a a big rock everything went into a void.

Tai slowly opened her eyes.... she couldn't speak...

She's in a place she does not recognize? she was still a little drowsy from being unconsious so it was hard for her to make any noises at all but she did think to herself "W-where the h-hell am I..!?" Tai wasn't so sure what she can dk about this she just noticed she could not move her arms and legs they were tied together hella tight so she couldn't escape she tried to find any way to get out of these skin itching ropes but nothing could budge Tai's eyes widen and she feoze as she heard the old woodened floor *Crreeck,,,creeeeek,,,creeeek* Someone was coming....Tai was scared for her life at this moment

She asked once again. . "Why did you kidnap me- Toby-" Toby just glared at her and his expression went soft "Because. . I need you" Tai's face turned into a shocked expression "What-? W-what do you mean-" Toby started to get iritated "Look-! I-I don't h-have time to a-a-answer your questions! So s-shut it!" Tai got quiet she was too scared to speak because she didnt want her head chopped off although she would want to die in the hands of Toby she thought about her best friend Ri and ignored the morbid thought. Toby sighed and placed his hands over his face showing a sense of stress "Uhhhh! You d-don't get it d-do you?" Toby snapped and pinned his arms against Tais toed up body "You need to be by my side...N-not here w-with these a-asswholes-!" Tai didnt react because she wasnt afraid thos was what she wanted she spoke softly "T..Toby...I want to be by your side" The enraged hatchetmen's expression softened .... "h-hm-?" He seemed confused to their consent to this "Yes, toby just release me and we can run far away...I hate this place... just get me away!" Tai's tone increased the room fell silent and they stared at eacother...Toby Untied Tai and extended his arm "Then let's go. ." I WATCHED SPIDERMAN ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE AND HAVE THOUGHTS SO IG SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT

I feel like I was the victim of overhype??? Or maybe I am too out of the loop/my tastes have changed, cuz boy it didn't hit quite as much as Into the Spiderverse did.

DON'T GET ME WRONG. THE RISKS THEY TOOK ON ANIMATION AND THE BOLD STYLES THEY USED WERE AMAZING.

I am so so happy they did so many things to play w consistency, style, color, shapes. And I am even more happy that that all is paying off financially cuz fucking hell it is refreshing to see this type of animation on the big screen. Hope everyone pays attention and starts letting creative people take bigger, bolder steps in animation.

I don't think everything worked quite as well. Not... As a whole?

As much as the visual styles were amazing to look at, they could also be very distracting. At times I just couldn't tell exactly what was happening (in so sad, but it mainly happened w Hobbie for me.) that hurt a lot of the action and clarity of things, it took me longer to realize what, a character was supposed to be doing. Which... When you have SO many spiderpeople, it feels crucial.

At times, it also felt like some of the decisions didn't quite work on the level that they wanted them to work. For instance the soft, muted pastels during the last scenes between Gwen and her dad. I couldn't get lost on them, I couldn't just focus on what was happening. Instead I... Wound up focusing on how muddy and weird the colors looked. I know, I know, petty artist thing. But it... Distracted me a lot. And what feels worst, a few minutes after I left the theater, I saw a post by one of the key colorists of that scene!!! And!!!! My man!!!! Those color keys looked fucking beautiful!!!!!! It... It felt like something got lost in the process there. I dunno. I don't want to be mean, but some of it just didnt fully land with me.

The writing...man. I don't want to be mean, but it felt much more marvel-y than

Beyond the visuals though.... I feel like the audio and writing were not as sharp as the visuals. At least not compared to Into the Spiderverse (tho I'd need to go back and watch that again to confirm)

The music... Didn't feel as impactful as it did in the first movie. Back in that one, each song had a specific emotional beat, something it was tied to within the movie beyond "oh this sounds vaguely menacing." i remember, for instance, how the prowler's musical signature was firmly embedded into the song associated with him. How it resonated through every scene he was in. Same with Sunflower, same with Whats Up Danger.

For ATSV... I think they tried some of that with Miguel, but it didn't quite live up to the Prowler. I can't remember any of the songs....maybe a little from the trailer??? But that's it. Again, this might be me, but it definitely felt like it was missing.

The writing. It felt very... Meme-y and self referential, but in a way that I couldn't quite keep up with. Mind you, I am a Mexican guy in my late 20s, so English is not my native language and I have been staying away frm most social media for mental health reasons. Maybe I just can't keep up and that's fine. But at points it reminded me of the worst of the witty live-action marvel movies. Just constant witty banter with just a split second to rest or absorb information. All self references, all inside jokes. It's great dumb fun! Yes! I remember ITSV doing it too!!!

But with just a handful of spidermen...

I feel it got a bit out of control, is what I'm saying.

And yknow what, it was still very much a fun, approachable movie that I was able to watch with a friend who hadn't seen the first one!

But that ending man.

That ending really... Doesn't sit right with me. I am one of those idiots that's just so burned out of the constant stream of series, movies, and media, that I just straight up gave up. I don't keep up with newer releases. I am so, so done w stories that are half finished, that don't reach a conclusion, that just get barfed out, that I'd rather just wait n see. If a story is finished, I might get around to it, heck, might even enjoy it.

So seeing that ending... It felt a bit like a slap to the face. I thought I was going in to watch a full story, with a beginning, middle, and end.

Instead, I kept watching, that little thought at the back of my head bugging me...

"man, this has been going for a while... I wonder how they'll wrap it up-"

And... Well, there was my answer when the credits rolled.

Again, this might all just be me, it's very possible that my tastes have changed since ITSV. Which!!! It happens!!! People change!!!!

I might also be totes wrong. Maybe once the next movie is out and I can watch the trilogy in one sitting then I'll have that feeling of hype and energy I had after watching the first one. Maybe it'll be so fucking awesome that I'll just fucking explode in my seat and be awed for all eternity.

this is really interesting the sound quality on this is really good for a boot but also u can hear what i was talking abt how despite how much they rock it isnt very like interesting compared to what kraftwerk was doing before, to what they would do later, and to what dinger and rother would later accomplish with neu. the music here doesnt sound very different from your typical late 60s psych rock and the most interesting part of it(florians flute playing) doesnt come up too often too much and is obscured by rothers guitar playing (which doesnt seem anywhere near as defined as both on the beat club performance and on neu’s stuff) apparently this performance was after their beat club performance just a month later apparently and they sound less experimental and just more straightforward rock which i guess makess sense that the earlier performance would still have stuff in common with their first album and for the later one to be more even more overtly rock. rother said in an interview that the beat club technicians didnt understand the importance of florians flute and mixed it much lower than his guitar and i think the same problem is here since u can hardly hear it :( aside from that the sound on this is insanely high quality. on their beat club performance tho rothers guitar sounds much more closer to neu and like v distinct but hear he sounds p generically fuzzy and overdriven in that psych rock way and idk why.. like listening to this stuff its amazing that the first neu album was as great and just perfect as it was. like i wonder what changed that led them to play the way they do on neu which is just so much more interesting than this all things considered. i did read that rother said from the start he wanted to make music that was different from the american and english stuff so maybe it just took him awhile to really develop a strong playing style that was different or maybe he forgot about that while playing with kraftwerk due to the energy of the performances n stuff or maybe it was just a matter of being in the studio that actually brought out that commitment to his goal(keep in mind neu never really had any regular live performances like this) and maybe conny plank really was the final ingredient in bringing out the best of them. its amazing to listen to this and to realize that they did neu only a year later considering just how at peace that music seems to be compared to this. i dont want it to sound like i hate this theres lots of strong moments and im still listenign to it atm so maybe the later songs are even stronger (im on ruckzuck rn) but like compared to neu it feels a lot more self-indulgent and jam-feeling as opposed to neu which i always thought closer to like really meditative terry riley esque stuff or like just almost proto-shoegaze type rock. like i dont think it can be understated how much above neu’s music is above simple jamming/soloing and above like the 60s psych rock before it as great as that can be. with neu and the motorik they acheived a real infinite sound like v modal where theres no need for tension or release unlike here. also funny how despite song names from kraftwerks debut most of these are wildly different songs. im kinda surprised that ruckzuck is actually the same song well sorta since it has rother so is way different but like its stll ruckzuck sorta. sucks florians flute is so low ... oh yea also i rewatched an interview with rother today where he actually looked at a bootleg of this album and was like “we werent that good and if you listen to hallogallo and then this u can tell that i improved alot by the time we became neu” which is liek real tru :O i wonder what happened between here and neus first album like with kraftwerk and studio albums and tours u have that growth chronologically there but with neu u just have their first album from the get go its interesting how much both rother and dinger changed by the time they did neu.

Katy's name in Japanese is Kaede[カエデ] from kaede[楓] the japanese word for the maple tree. While the link is likely the Japanese use of maple syrup as a natural sugar in a lot of traditional pastries, it's kind of an odd choice of design when the Japanese maple is so well known for its deep red leaves, and even other maple trees are distinctly associated with various shades of red, orange, and yellow... Yet she's all brown with just a dash of minty green in there?

I covered Brassius' name in the lead up to game release but his Japanese name is Korusa[コルサ] as in Colza, another name for rapeseed or canola. He shares a namesake plant with Natane and Nabana, in Sinnoh/Hisui, but appears otherwise unrelated. Weird that his design is plant themed yet totally unrelated.

Iono's name was one I wasnt sure of at first, in Japanese it's Nanjamo[ナンジャモ] which is a pun on Nanjamonja[何じゃもんじゃ], which is and exclamation that gets translated very loosely as something like "what the hell is that!?" What i didnt realize at first and that apparently Nanjamonja-no-ki[なんじゃもんじゃの木] is actually the common name of the Chionanthus retusus, the Chinese fringetree. Incidentally I also thought for a moment that her name was a reference to nanjamonja-goke[ナンジャモンジャゴケ], the Takakia lepidozioides moss. But Iono's English name seems to come from the "...iona..." in Chionanthus...

Kofu's name is Haidai[ハイダイ] from the chinese name hǎidài[海带] for a type of Kelp/seaweed(Saccharina japonica). The English name might be a halfbaked attempt at appropriating makonbu[真昆布], the japanese name for the same plant; noting that the ko...bu[こ...ぶ] and kofu[こふ] are written similarly. Anyway... Given the chef gimmick, the seaweed you have to barter for for him, and the fact that one of his town's unique features is a chinese restaurant, it would appear to refer to it specifically as food. It's also the logo on his apron.

Larry's name is Aoki[アオキ] from aoki[青木] the spotted laurel/Japanese laurel tree.(Aucuba japonica​) Funny enough it reminds me of Norman's name being Senri from the Senryo plant, which is a similar looking plant with red berries, and they're both normal type specialists. His highlights are similar in shape and color to aoki leaves. And they seem to have gotten Larry from Laurel.

Ryme... Her name is Raimu[ライム] as in Lime, homonym with Rhyme. She raps, but she does not appear to resemble limes... Her sister Tyme is taimu[タイム] like the herb thyme. I dont know why the english localization felt the need to remove the "h" in both of these.

Tulip's name was already Rippu[リップ] as in Lip from tulip.

Grusha/guruusha[グルーシャ] I've done before too. He's named in Russian, grusha[груша]: "pear." His big winter coat makes his head and torso pearshaped.

Rika's name is Chiri[チリ] like Chilipeppers, the genus Capsicum. Some other languages opted to name her after cayenne, but the English name Rika comes from Paprika. Funny enough it has nothing to do with Chili from Unova, as his name, like all his brothers', was originally a reference to corn, not any sort of pepper.

Poppy is popii[ポピー] is poppy. Although they come in a few colors they all have the distinctive black center, which I assume is meant to be reflected in the design of Poppy's hair.

It's just Larry/Aoki again...

Hassel's name in Japanese is Hassaku[ハッサク] from hassaku[八朔] aka the "jagada," a type of orange cultivated in Japan, known for being larger than most oranges; about the size of a grapefruit.

Geeta's name is Omodaka[オモダ] from Omodaka[沢瀉] a tree called the threeleaf arrowhead/Chinese arrowhead (Sagittaria trifolia). Its also prominently featured in Japanese family crests, like that of the Sawada, included above.

Might as well get Team Star is in on this too! In the same way Guzma and Plumeria were kind of villainous alternatives to trial captains, for bug and poison type respectively, the Team Star sub-bosses kind of occupy a sort of pseudo/demi-gym leader status.

Giacomo's name is Piinya[ピーニャ] as in Piña:"Pineapple." His puffy autumn uniform vest and spiky hair makes him look like a pineapple.

Mela's name is Meroko[メロコ] seemingly taken from the Meloco... Of melocotón, Spanish word for "peach." Her red is a little too vibrant for it to be obvious, but her yellow to red hair appears to be peach inspired.

Atticus's name is Shuumei[シュウメイ] from Shumeigiku[秋明菊] Japanese name of a flower called the "fall-blooming anemone"(Anemone hupehensis japonica​). It comes in a few shades of pink and violet that seem to match the poison type color motif.

Ortega's name is just a tiny tweak from Orutiga[オルティガ]:"Ortiga" spanish name for nettle, a broad family of herbs known for their stinging hairs.

Eri's Japanese mame is Biwa[ビワ] from biwa[枇杷]: "loquat"(Eriobotrya japonica) a tree with a long history of its fruit and leaves bring used for food and tea. It is sometimes erroneously called the "Japanese Plum."

And just to round things out a little...

Nemona's English name came from her Japanese name, Nemo[ネモ] from the Nemo nemphilia, a broad range of flowers known for their baby blue color. Oddly thats not reflected in her actual design..

Laughably Arven's name was Pepaa[ペパー]:"Pepper" and you would think it would refer to... You know... peppers. But given the English name, Arven from Mentha arvensis, it's actually a reference to peppermint which does make sense with his herb theme.

Penny's name is Botan[ボタン] from Botan[牡丹] Japanese name for the "tree Peony"(Paeonia suffruticosa) The peony has long standing cultural importance in China and by some proxy Japan, and is often compared to the Rose's prominence in Western Europe; this is incidentally why Chairman Rose's brother in Galar is named Peony. Incidentally this is likely why they had to name her Penny, as Peony had been taken.

Clavell's name is actually the same, Kuraberu[クラベル] approximating "Clavel" the Spanish name for the Carnation. He shares a flower name with Champion Diantha in Kalos.

Now, you knew better than anybody that Bakugou had a temper. What you couldn't figure out was why said temper seemed to be directed to you?!

"LISTEN YOU DAMN EXTRA, YOU'RE GOING TO COME TO THE STUDY SESSION CAUSE I'M SURE YOU'RE FAILING JUST LIKE THE REST OF EM!" You do your best to resist the urge to wipe imaginary saliva from your face.

"Bakugou I'm doing just fine in my classes." You say slowly in an attempt to avoid more screaming. Bakugou crosses his arms as his frown deepens. "Tch, well you still need to come and help me with the other dumbasses." You sighed realizing there was no way out of this situation.

"If I come will that make you happy?" Bakugou visibly bristled, "Ha?! Happy, I dont give a damn if you come!?" With that he stomped off, leaving you to deal with your whiplash. A hand comes down on your shoulder, "Don't listen to him man, he wants you to come. "You sighed as you turn back to look at the retreating pomeranian.

"Well why didn't he just say that?"

"I swear he acts like he's got a crush on me." Sero laughs as you two walk toward Bakugou's dorm. "You never know he might." Sero wiggles his eyebrows suggestively and you punch his shoulder. "Yeah and I'm general Kanobe."

When you arrived, it was the usual group of kids surrounding Bakugou. Denki was getting yelled at by said man and Kirishima was fixing one of Mina's mistakes English. "Hey guys!" You say sitting down next to Bakugou. Bakgou didn't say anything but you couldn't help but feel as if he was trying to lean away from you.

As you participate in the mostly silent study session, you watched Bakugou skillfully teach the others basic history in a way that even made you understand more. "Hey Bakugou you should become a teacher."

Bakgou laughs, "Like hell I will, I can hardly handle these dumbasses." Denki whines, "Oh come on Bakugou, we aren't that bad." A book comes your way in an attempt at hitting Denki. Before it could hit you however, a small explosion goes off in front of you, "Hey watch it raccoon eyes!"

You fan the slight dust in front of your face and resist the urge to cough as you laughed. Bakugou looks at you with wide eyes and a faint blush, but turns away before you could see it. The others looked at him with a knowing smirk.

"Hey Mina, remember that thing you promised we would do?" Kirishima said, sneaking glances at you as you wipe your face. Kaminari looked at the two with a raised eyebrow, "What thing?" Mina tried to respond discreetly, "Ya know the thing." Kaminari looked at the two with a blank gaze.

Sero releases tape from his elbows and uses it to quickly silence Kaminari. "He's a lost cause we might as well stop now." Bakugou looks at the others just as clueless as you, as they drag a silenced Denki out the room.

"Did they make something up to leave us alone?" Bakugou asked, already lifting his hand to cause destruction. You quickly grab his fist in your hand, "What no! I know the thing they're talking about, it's a serious…..thing"

The sound of your voice was completely tuned out as Bakugou's eyes narrowed down on your hands. They were larger than his, and were able to completely cover his hands yet still managed to be soft. As you rambled about something he couldn't be bothered to care about, Bakugou instinctively intertwined your fingers together.

Now that got your attention as you watch the boy have a completely elated facial expression, one that honestly was disturbing out of context. You muttered to yourself as you squeezed his hands back, "Do you really have a crush on me?" Bakugou's sensitive ears caught onto that real quick and he released you almost immediately.

"W-What the hell are you talking about?! Why would I like you.." you rolled your eyes already ready from some pushback. His defensive demeanor soon dripped away as you gently held his chin. "Don't lie to me Bakugou." The sound of your deep voice made him shiver as you slowly cage him in-between you and the floor. "W-What are you doing dumbass!?" He said eyes getting more wide the closer you got.

When he had nowhere else to go, you leaned forward and placed a chaste kiss on the tip of his nose and pulled back. "Well I like you too Bakugou." You stand up and twirl around the room. "And I promise to be the best boyfriend ever and embarrass you from here on out!" Bakugou snapped out his stupor, "What do you mean I already have three other extras that do that!"

Your smirk as you stop your spinning and look at Bakugou with one finger pointing to him. "So you agree to be my boyfriend?" A blush resumes on the blond's face, "So you really like me?" He said gruffly as he looked to the side. You chuckled softly, "Hey that's my line."

Bakugou suddenly feels shy, "B-But we're both dudes." He brings a hand to come and scratch the back of his head and you tut quietly. "So what, your cute, I'm cute, together we make cuties and if anyone doesn't like it they can…" your place a finger and pretend to think, "What's that phrase you're always saying?" Bakgou looks at you with a raised eyebrow as you snap your fingers.

"Oh yeah, they can go to hell!" Bakgou looks taken aback at such a broad statement coming from such a sweet face. You take this opportunity to press another quick kiss on his face much to his embarrassment.

“hello atiny!!! how are you guys?” yuri said, swaying back and forth on the hotel bed while yunho fixed the camera. fans were starting to come in, and yuri giggled as she saw thousands of comments speed up.

yunho sat next to yuri, and started reading the comments, while yuri looked over on his shoulder.

“what’s the concept of our vlive today?” yuri read one of the comments, and looked up at yunho.

He pretended to be in deep thoughts, and then he eventually said, “big dog and tiny cat.” This comment caused yuri to pout and cross her arms, she hated being called tiny, even if it was true when she was next to yunho. She always set herself up to be called small when she was next to yunho, it was just inventable to not be seen as you were tiny when you were next to that man.

“i am NOT, tiny. your just a giant.” Yuri huffed, and slouched even more, she didnt realize that she was just digging herselfinto a bigger hole with being called tiny. Of course right now she was cute, her hair was in a messy ponytail currently, her hair framing her puffy cheeks that were bare of makeup, and she was in an oversized hoodie, that ended at the end of her shorts, the hoodie had sweater paws too. Atiny were having a hard time figuring who was cuter with sweater paws, yuri or yeosang.

“sure, sure.” yunho rolled his eyes and continued to read comments, a lot of them were just compliments, and it caused yuri to get cocky for some, but others made her very shy. she still wasn’t used to always getting compliments, but she still loved it a lot. When she read the compliments for her, she either sent a finger heart with a wink, or laughed into her hand sweater paw. This had both atiny and yunho smiling in adortion.

after awhile, yuri was getting bored. she wanted to do something fun, but she didn’t feel like playing a game. she sat and thought about what they could do, until an idea came and she immediately ran to the bathroom. she was going to do yunho’s makeup! she was sure yunho would protest, but atiny would make him give in for sure. None of the members had let her do their makeup, she never asked them, but she always thought it would be fun. She enjoyed doing her own, even if she could only do a basic look.

she hurriedly grabbed her makeup bag, which was huge, and slightly torn with foundation stains all over it, and walked back to the bed, laughing at yunho’s face. he looked like a deer in headlights, but also a confused puppy. He had no idea what was coming for him.

“yunho....you know how you said you would do anything for me....right.” yuri started, slowly to form an evil smirk on her face, causing yunho to be nervous. what was she planning.... from the looks of it, it would be something yunho would probably be forced into doing, and he would have high regrets of caving in later. It was always impossible to turn down yuri to yunho, and the rest of the group, no matter how hard they tried to resist.

“um....yeah i guess.” yunho gulped, he really didn’t like how this was going, but yuri clearly did, she looked like she was trying her best to not laugh in this moment, and she had a mischevious glint in her eyes, which was normally never a good thing.

“will you let me do your makeup??? pleaseeeeeee.” yuri whined, finally releasing her true plan, and she gave her best puppy eyesto yunho, in hopes that he would fall for it like he has many times in the past. yunho just laughed, now he wasn’t against wearing makeup, no, he was just against having yuri the one doing it.

With yuri, you never know what could happen. Yunho just feared that she would do her absolute worst, just so yunho would drown in embarssment for years, because thats just something yuri would do.

“yuri....i don’t think i trust you.” yunho laughed, shaking his head when yuri gasped dramatically. She was amazing at makeup, she thought, this boy was just out of his mind.

But yunho, was in fact not out of his mind. She always had to restart, with countless number of groans espacing her mouth. And whenever she did her makeup, she always ended up hurting herself...somehow. Yunho wasnt sure how she managed to do it, but she could always find a way to either poke her eye or drop something on her foot.

“i’m so good at makeup, what are you talking about?” yuri huffed, and crossed her arms. she knew that was sort of a lie, but she knew being dramatic would make yunho give in, hopefully. He would never turn her down infront of atiny, she knew it. Yunho had to keep up his soft boy persona.

The majority of them were just different shades of pink, but there were a few that were very vibrant. “Yuri... it looks like your bag needs an intese clean out, and how many shades of pink do you need?” yunho questioned, picking up the pink lip glosses, they all looked the same to him. yuri frantically shook her head, grabbing all of them, and began explaining how they were all different.

“This one is more of a natural lip color, for me at least,” she said, holding up the lightest pink of them all. she then grabbed a slightly darker pink and explained it as the “wannabe red, but not quite there”.the last two she picked up, she admitted that they were the same colors, just from dfferent brands, so that lip gloss was “sisters from another mister”, in her words.

After yuri got done passionatly explaining why it was important to have as many colors of lip gloss as possible, claiming that having purple lipstick could possibly bribe the zombies away from you, if a zombie apocolyspe were ever to happen. Yunho disagreed though, saying they would much rather like the flesh colored lipstick, but that ended him a flick on the fore head, and yunho just decided to keep his mouth shut, and pretend that she was making valid points.

Yuri rummanged through her makeup, opening and closing her multiple palettes, looking up at yunho every once in awhile, and he was very confused. He was never not confused since this whole ordeal started. He eventually questioned yuri, after she opened the same palette for the tenth time in the past five minutes.

“im sorry yuri...but what are you doing?`” yunho asked, raising his eyebrows when the girl in front of him groaned, and looked up at him with a hopeless look.

“i’m trying to decide what type of makeup i want to give you... i dont know if i want to do just a simple pink, a glittery pink, or do some dark colors.” yuri said, holding up the eye shadows that she wanted to use. yunho defiantly did not want to do the dark colors, it would take forever to get off, and the glitter would get get everywhere...but that was probably the one she wanted to do the most, yunho sighed, he already gave into her this much, he might as well give into her more.

“how about the glittery pink, it’s....cute? don’t you wear that one a lot too?” yunho nervously smiled, and yuri’s mood quickly changed. she was now suprised, she never thought that any of the members really payed attention to what type of makeup she wore, yunho was exactly correct. whenever she could do her makeup herself, she always wore the pink glitter eyeshadow. it went well with everything, expect some colors.

“yes! i do..how do you even know that?” yuri said, suspiciously eyeing yunho.

“i just noticed...i see you everyday, of course i’m going to notice what eye shadow you wear.” yunho rolled his eyes, and continued, “it looks good when you do it by the way, i’m not just saying that.” yuri smiled. she was glad that someone appreciated her efforts.

“okay....let me get my other brushes, these are gross.” yuri said, which yunho thanked the gods that she had other brushes, those brushes were extremely gross, in his opinion. she walked over to her suitcase and pulled out another bag, and opened it. each brush as it’s own pocket, and they were much cleaner.

“i bought these not too long ago, these were my valentine’s day gift, to myself!” yuri chirped, looking at the camera and smiling, before pulling out an eyeshadow brush, and dipped it in the palette.

“i’m not going to do foundation, i’m too lazy, and i don’t even think that it matches your skin tone.” yuri said and sat on one knee next to yunho and stood on her other foot on the ground, and tilted his face up with her fingers. yunho closed his eyes, and yuri gently started applying the eye shadow.

she leaned over to dip it into the palette again, and yunho opened his eyes and looked into the camera, and that did not go unnoticed by yuri.

“i’m not finished! dont look until i’m done.” yuri yelled, and yunho giggled and looked back up and closed his eyes. yuri finished adding the pink eyeshadow onto his eyes, and began adding a matte light purple at the end of the eye lid, and in the upper lid as well and blended it in on both eyes.

“i think this is the first time since like, fourth grade i’ve done someone’s makeup.” yuri chuckled, before leaning back towards her brushes and getting a new brush and dipped it into a matte pink, and began blending it in on top of the purple eyeshadow.

“should i be scared...” yunho whispered, and yuri just laughed. maybe he should, she wasn’t sure of that just yet.

“ummmm we’ll see. you’ll live, it’ll be okay.” yuri chuckled, patting yunho’s head when his eyes widened, he was back to being scared now, he wasn’t so sure about trusting yuri.

“i’m going to put some eyeshadow in like, between your nose and your eye, and under your eye.” yuri said, and grabbed a much smaller brush, and dipped it into the same matte pink, and brushed it along his lower lashes. she could hear yunho giggling, and looked down at him in confusion.

“it...it tickles.” yunho breathed, and yuri just smiled. “hold on, i’m almost done.” yuri said, and held down onto yunho’s shoulders to hold him still. she added a shiny white on the corner of his eyes, and looked back to admire her work.

“it’s so pretty! i would do eyeliner but i don’t want to ruin it, you can look! i’m not completely done yet, so hold on.” yuri said, and crawled back to her makeup, grabbing blush, highlight, and contour with their respectable brushes.

“you did do good yuri....i’m impressed.” yunho said, he was impressed, he was shocked too. he thought it looked really good, and it was cute too. yunho liked how it looked.

“yeah, you shouldn’t doubt me!” yuri yelled.

“i never doubted you, how could you ever say that?” yunho yelled back, mocking a suprised look on his face, because he did, in fact doubt her.

“you did doubt me, you big liar!” with this, yuri put yunho in a choke hold, and started ruffling his hair. yunho screamed until they both heard yuri’s phone ring. and yunho just chuckled, returning to his seat, after seeing the contact information.

yunho walked to the bathroom, and began applying the mascara, and yuri watched him.

“put more!” yuri yelled, before yunho got the chance to close it, he rolled his eyes and added a few more strokes, and looked back at yuri. satisfied, she nodded her head and yunho came back.
