Literally just yes. At all of these points it's fetishization. If you have a targeted interest for a group you are not a part of you are fetishizing them. If it was just a normal interest in romance media you'd consume and enjoy any of it, regardless of it being wlw, mlm, straight, whatever. And I don't think I have to explain why a man consuming lesbian porn is fetishization, if you can't understand that you're beyond saving. The "point" where it becomes fetishization is when you're actively seeking that content because it's wlw, again, a man can very much enjoy wlw stuff but if it's *because* it's wlw then you're fetishizing. It's not about enjoying it "too much", it's about why you're enjoying it. And that applies to any other group, be it gay men, disabled people, people of color, other cultures etc. Learn to see other people as human rather than be morbidly interested in what specifically makes them different from you. And obviously since I know some ppl will answer with "oh but that's stupid I'm a lesbian and I love wlw content am I fetishizing", no, because you are one, you're just enjoying representation. People all understand that abt fujoshis and why they're gross, it's not rocket science. Probably wasted my time typing that but yeah idk, just my thoughts take it as you will 🤷‍♀️ or block me whichever u prefer

I think my issue with this line of thinking is that sapphic relationships are meaninfully different from cishet relationships in ways that may be appealing to cishet men, and specifically in ways that go beyond just "girl on girl = hot"

Like idk maybe I'm not the best example b/c I ended up actually being a lesbian but when I still ID'd as a cishet guy my reasoning for why I liked wlw content so much was that:

Straight romance media is generally targeted at cishet women and is told from their perspective, so if you're a dude who isn't attracted to other dudes, it's way less likely that this content would pique your interest

A lot of content written by and about cishet men does not have a healthy view of women and this can be alienating for cishet men who actually took the time to unlearn misogynistic attitudes and treat women as people

So sapphic content provides a source of content a) from the perspective of someone attracted to women where b) women are treated as people.

Does this make sense?
