Lando wakes up slowly, sunlight filtering through his curtains. For a moment, he's confused about why he feels so content, then he remembers - you stayed over last night. His girlfriend stayed over. You, YN Russell, his girlfriend of exactly one month, stayed at his place.

He reaches for you, but finds your side of the bed empty though still warm. He's about to panic when he hears soft humming from his kitchen.

He follows the sound and stops dead in his doorway, breath catching in his throat.

You're standing at his coffee maker, wearing nothing but his shirt from yesterday, the hem hitting mid-thigh. Your hair is messy from sleep, early morning sunlight making you glow as you hum quietly to yourself while measuring coffee grounds.

It's such a simple moment, so domestic and ordinary, but it nearly brings him to his knees.

"I've been waiting so long for this," he whispers without meaning to.

You turn, startled, then smile when you see him. "For coffee?"

"For you," he says softly, still staring at you like you might disappear. "For this. For... everything."

Your expression softens. "Lando..."

"Do you know how many times I've imagined this?" he steps closer, voice thick with emotion. "You in my kitchen, in my shirt, making coffee like you belong here? How many times I've dreamed about waking up to you?"

"Baby..."

"I used to joke about it," he continues, reaching for you. "About you being my future wife, about how we'd have mornings like this. But I never really thought..." his voice catches, "I never really believed I'd actually get to have this."

You set down the coffee scoop and wrap your arms around his neck. "Well, you better believe it now. Because I plan on stealing your shirts and making coffee in your kitchen for a very long time."

"Yeah?" his hands settle on your waist, thumbs stroking the soft material of his shirt.

"Yeah," you smile. "Though maybe next time I'll wear the papaya orange shirt, since you love that color so much."

His eyes light up. "Really?"

"No," you laugh. "Never. But your face got all excited for a second there."

"Tease," he pouts, but his hands tighten on your waist. "You know, this isn't very nice behavior from my future wife."

"Still not your wife."

"Yet," he grins, then sobers slightly. "But you will be, right? Someday?"

Your heart melts at the hint of vulnerability in his voice. "Of course I will. Who else would put up with your papaya orange obsession?"

"It's a great color!"

"It's really not," you laugh, then kiss him softly. "But I love you anyway."

He freezes. You freeze too, realizing what you just said.

"I mean..." you start to backtrack, but he cuts you off with a desperate kiss.

"Say it again," he whispers against your lips when you break apart.

"I love you," you say softly. "I think I have for a long time."

His whole face lights up like sunshine. "I love you too. God, I love you so much. I've loved you for so long I don't remember what it feels like not to love you."

You kiss him again, coffee forgotten as he lifts you onto the counter.

"You know what this means?" he murmurs between kisses.

"What?"

"Now you definitely have to let me paint our future house papaya orange."

You pull back to look at him. "That is not what this means."

"But you love me," he grins. "You just said so."

"Not enough for orange walls."

"We'll see," he says confidently. "I can be very persuasive."

"Oh really?"

"Really," he steps between your legs, hands sliding under his shirt on your thighs. "Want me to demonstrate?"

Your breath hitches. "The coffee..."

"Can wait," he finishes, lifting you off the counter. "I have more important things to do."

"Like what?"

"Like showing my future wife exactly how persuasive I can be."

"Still not your wife," you remind him, but you're already wrapping your legs around his waist as he carries you back to bed.

"Yet," he grins against your neck. "Yet."

1. Screaming Piha

This was the first one that gave it away. It just seemed…obviously wrong.

This has been trimmed out of a slowed-down clip. Specifically this one, from the San Diego Zoo, which also features the actual call:

2. Australian Bustard

This one seems fairly accurate. Maybe some sort of effect applied — or maybe just poor audio quality. This seems to specifically be part of the mating display. (Start ~1:40, if the video doesn't on its own.)

3. Common starling

(Sturnus vulgaris — European starling in the US)

Why did they use common names for the rest and not this one? Probably because "common starling" sounds bo-ring, and they want you to watch their doctored-up video.

This one has really obvious reverb applied. And I sure as shit haven't ever heard a starling do that. Though they are sometimes mimics, so it might be copying something. But it's hard to trust with the other effects applied; it's altered at a minimum.

Cornell Lab Or Ornithology is a great place to find out about North American birds (and naturalized nonnative birds like the starling). They have wonderful photo libraries and extensive sound libraries of calls, songs, warning calls, and even juvenile calls. You can hear great examples of the most common sounds starlings make. You should also check out their Merlin app if you want help with bird visual ID and sound ID!

4. Great Potoo or Common Potoo

Nyctibius grandis or Nyctibius griseus

From one end to the other, they've gone from a Latin binomial to not even specifying the full common name. This seems to be a great potoo, based on the patterns, coloration, and eye color (pupils would generally not be all dilated during the day, so we should see the yellow, I think, if it were a common). But I'm no expert on South American birds.

This video seems to be outright faked. And the audio was recorded from a distance, not close up, hence the echoing.

This video clip has been reposted a bunch by different accounts using a first-person descriptor, but this seems to be the original version of this video…and it does NOT make that noise in it:

5. Superb lyrebird

This one doesn't seem to be faked. This fellow is a prolific mimic, so it could make that sound. Or loads of other sounds. (And this is a male, based on those tailfeathers — which are also the source of its common name, because they honestly do resemble the ancient Greek harp-like instrument, the lyre, when displaying.)

This is a real recording. Though not the only sound a kiwi might make. You can hear some others at the beginning. And they've amped the saturation for some reason.

Disclaimer: This is partially due to my personal want to have an aroace character who's sexuality is ACTUALLY a part of their character arc and not just a fun trivia fact (bc I have yet to see a fangan character like that, Ik we have Forte from Lapse and Isono but neither of their sexualities get aknowledged in the story itself and even if they weren't aroace, nothing major would really change about their characters) so I MIGHT be reaching here a bit but hopefully this will still make sense (I copypasted this from Discord so if any of this sounds familiar hi lmao)

Okazaki mentioned smtg along the lines of Ninomiya struggling to keep meaningful relationships which is the reason why his past relationships didn't last a long while, considering the fact aroace is not a very well known queer identity, there's a chance Ninomiya doesn't even know what aroace is, let alone know HE is aroace himself (or, if he somehow knows, is in denial), and since society kind of expects everyone to have a deep romantic bond with someone, otherwise you are considred broken or "need to find the right person" Ninomiya could be forcing himself into feeling smtg by getting in those short lasting relationships, which ofc, doesn't work (we could also have a sort of aroace version of [Boy Talk] which, yk, would be AWESOME)

Ik we don't have nearly enough about Ninomiya to be 100% sure with this, but I just think this would be an interesting character arc (and again, I NEED AN AROACE CHARACTER WHO'S SEXUALITY ACTUALLY MATTERS PLEASE I'M DESPARATE), but I could definetly be wrong, this is just a speculation after all and a silly one at that

At risk of sounding like a warhawk, I feel like a ceasefire will just put a lid on this problem for a few years at most, after which we'll be right back where we started.

It depends, really. Where at the point where nothing more can really be done with bombings. If we want to enact regime change, we need boots on the ground and neither Trump or Israel are willing to do that. Which is the right choice, because regime changes through invasion rarely work out as intended and we don't need to be putting American soldiers directly in harm's way for this. But the last two years have completely changed Iran's position in the middle east.

Before, they had multiple proxy forces. Syria, Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah. Syria fell and the new government is no friend to Iran. In fact they allowed Israel into their airspace to bomb Iran. Hamas is all but destroyed and has no ability to attack Israel. Same with Hezbollah. Same with the Houthis. Iran no longer has any insulation. Iran's nuclear capability has been destroyed. All their infrastructure is gone and most of their nuclear scientists are dead. It will be years before they can even think about getting a bomb, and meanwhile Israel has shown that they can destroy 20 years of nuclear build up in about a week and also infiltrate Iran at will, since many of the strikes Israel carried out were carried out wither by, or with information gathered, by Mossad agents in Iran who have been there for months. All the Iranian military leaders are dead. The mullah's regime gets its legitimacy by claiming to be divinely ordained to not just rule Iran, but to usher in the apocalypse so Islam can win and rule the world. They talk of the great honor of martyrdom yet the supreme leader just spent the last two weeks cowering in a bunker, and everyone knows it. Iran hasn't been this weak in generations. Even if the people( many of whom hate the current regime), don't rise up, the Ayatollah will be fighting off anyone in his regime that senses that weakness and wants to grab power for themselves. They're also surrounded by Muslim countries of a different Islamic sect, and both Russia and China, their greatest global allies, have shown that they won't come to Iran's aid against the US or Israel. Putin basically told them "sorry, you've got the wrong number" and China didn't even pick up the phone.

All this means Iran is no longer the threat they used to be. And they won't regain that position for a long time. Maybe never. Obviously the best outcome is the people rise up, overthrow the Islamic theocracy, and institute a modern secular republic. But even if that doesn't happen, the world is safe for a long time and the biggest impediment to the current trend towards westernization and stabilized relations with Israel in the middle east has been defanged. There's a very real chance that, no matter what happens internally with Iran, we might see real peace and stability in the middle east.

Either way, a massive problem has been solved long term, and we didn't lose a single American life in the process. That's definitely something to celebrate, and it's one of the most competent and effective pieces of governing I've ever seen.

B used her tail to indicate those that they could see from where they were. The Dukesons were matching once again, Wisp holding still as Mrs wiped gently over her visor with an affectionate smile while another drone stood nearby with red eye-lights and dark forest green hair currently gelled back out of his face.

The Prillman family seemed to be conversing at a table, settled in and speaking softly so as not to disrupt their area. Each matched the theme, but the only two that matched each other were likely the married couple and heads.

The third motioned to also had a drone with them, close to a very old looking woman seated with a couple younger adults and one that looked at least middle aged. The old woman had an oxygen tank, and seemed to smile at the soft music they were closest to.

"We'll be saying hello when we can. I need to speak to a couple of them for some business related things. And I know that the Dukesons want to meet you." Alex smirked a bit. "Still fussing over Wisp..." She laughed lightly.

[SweetBee] Alex has already started on some of her prep stuff [SweetBee] So I'm letting you know I'll be over soon so we can start moving what we need to the ship ok?

B's message arrives a little before sunset, and seems to at least explain why Alex has been quiet for as long as she had been. The fact time felt like it passed both far too slow and far too quick for this whole... thing was probably something to address.

I wouldn't really want jm to go on tour right now because he doesn't have enough song imo. And it would be to rushed. I want him to take his time and to have a full era. Seeing how jin tour have been rushed and planned last minute i don't really see the appeal.

Coming up with another album is going to be long especially if he wants to be really involved in all aspects like he was for FACE and MUSE.

Comparing him to jk doesn't really make sense when we know songs have probably been waiting for him as soon as he came back since he doesn't seem to be really involved in his music. And since he seems to be the chosen one everything is probably already planned for him. I guess we'll see. He might want to be more involved now we don't know.

Things were rushed before enlisment so he maybe didn't have time to plan and prepare performances or maybe its something deeper happening with the company. Now that he is out he have time he doesn't have to rush. We'll see what he wants to do.

I want him to wait too and I think a delayed tour for him actually won’t be the company’s fault despite how much I hate them.

Jimins first tour should be epic and shouldn’t be rushed. He strikes me as an artist who’s very serious about his craft and isn’t here for a quick buck. All his letters to fans always emphasize that he’s working and preparing hard particularly because he wants to provide us with high quality results. He knows he’s loved enough where he could sell us just about anything but he’d never do that cuz he has too much love for the craft and his fans.

Also if there are any Jimin fans who expect JKs type of career out of Jimin then they’re stanning the wrong artists. Jimin is very very involved in his work so like you said, things will always take much longer for him. Personally all my favorite artists are very involved and don’t release very frequently so I’m ok with waiting but if you’re expecting an artists who’s always releasing and touring because they don’t have to plan or create than Jimin isn’t the right artist for you.

i know a lot of people talk about mark's avoidant tendencies but i don't see a whole lot of people talking about gemma's avoidant tendencies. in 2x07 we have the scene where gemma gets the results for a pregnancy test while mark calls out that coffee is ready, and gemma quietly closes the door to the bathroom in response. now, we don't know if this is an inherent trait of gemma's or if it's in response to mark's avoidant tendencies (i.e. mirroring mark's flavor of emotional repression).

but it does make me think a lot about the interview where dichen mentions that mark (and gemma's relationship with him) would've been okay if, earlier in their journey, gemma would have accepted a life without a (biological) child, but she was battling internally with the thoughts that she's broken but that she still really wants a baby. and how when you're unhappy with yourself, it can poison the water in your relationship, which i think is interesting. it does make me wonder if we'll see that in reverse in S3 if/when omark makes it outside and they have to figure out who they are in relation to each other, considering the rampant self-hatred that became ingrained in mark in the last 2 years.

my two favorite headcanons for gemma's testing floor experiences are that 1. lumon actually gave her real plants for her room but they had to take them away pretty quickly once she started weaponizing them against mauer lmao and 2. one of her innies is tending to ant farms. because there's no fucking way that lumon doesn't know about the little ant farm exchange that happened in her office.

as far as where i want her story to go next season...whew.

BEST case scenario that will absolutely never happen is gemma replaces mark as the main character. like, no, not just becoming a main character. i want her to be the main character. title sequence modeled after her and everything. but since we won't get that, i think it's reasonable to expect that she'll become one of the main characters (realistically probably cobel-level screen time + character development).

out of all the outies, gemma has the most capacity to understand the innie experience considering that she functionally lived her life as an innie for two years. she's also been characterized as an empathetic person. so i think she's the character that is best set up to be able to provide allyship to the innies (as i imagine that the innies will manufacture a sit-in type protest with a detained milchick in their pocket) which of course would be an incredibly complicated position to be in, considering that her husband's innie is stuck down there and clearly in love with someone else. but i would do just about anything for a scene where gemma tries to reason with helly to get her and mark to leave the building, because britt has mentioned that gemma is probably the first outie that helly has had empathy for. their conversation could be explosive (hot) but i think it's more likely that it would be tense and emotional (which is also...kind of hot).

i think there are so many different directions they could take her storyline...but my main wish list items (realistically) for gemma are: 1. we get to see ms. casey at least 1 more time 2. we get multiple scenes with her and devon 3. we get at least one scene with helly or helena (ideally both) 4. she doesn't die...my number 5 with an asterisk is watching her and mark fall back in love, which would be incredibly sweet and healing, but if they end up splitting, it's gotta be on gemma's terms. [pointing at dan erickson] or else 🫵

This was a pretty good episode with the usual silly hijinks I look forward to ^^ definitely like this one more than the previous ep. Ah, cameos galore 😌 I do love that we are getting more of that 3 and Meggy dynamic, especially bc of IGBP!! Really fun to explore that more, like seriously we've been getting a lot of good dynamics between different characters and I love that :)

As for 3's cafe, we have seen go through its ups and downs. But this lowkey reminded me of "Trash Friends" as in the way 3's trying his best to keep the business afloat and, if his insecurities told us anything, he wants to be his own person aside from 4. But I am pretty happy that 3 has been able to come up with some good ideas!! also he so happy 🥹

Now I do wanna bring this in bc I've seen it going around but, this was a typically silly episode. It's the SMG4 show after all, and it's been a joy looking forward to it every week! I do wanna applaud the Team to get this episode out bc I know a few are also working in Glitch and getting the new TADC episode out. Regardless, they each have their own lives, that isn't attached to just SMG4, but they took the time to give us the nice cameos and callbacks. Details like that matter. So, thanks Team.

Some Deltarune Theories I Thought Of

These are just some theories I've had. Some of them I believe more than others, but all of them I believed would at least be interesting to bring up. More under the cut!

THE KNIGHT IS KRIS'S KNIFE: Something that came to my mind. I don't think this is actually the case at all, but Kris's Knife has only previously been used for chaos and trouble (stealing the pie Toriel and Susie baked, slashing Toriel's tires, and creating TWO Dark Fountains.) Just an interesting parallel that could be rationalized.

CAROL IS NOT EVIL: Carol is, at the very least, assisting the Knight, and Kris is assisting her in doing so. But now that we know Lightners too know about the Legend (especially the Holidays and Dreemurrs, as they are confirmed to be religious), Carol could be trying to bring the Roaring quicker to ensure the Knight is defeated quicker. Yes this is working off the "The Knight is Dess" theory, possibly with Carol and Kris trying to save her by defeating her as soon as possible. This one I feel is pretty likely.

THE KNIGHT IS A PERFECT FUSION OF LIGHTNER AND DARKNER: We have seen that Darkners can be spawned from dust-covered items and they can resemble dead Lightners. Perhaps, going into this with the idea that Dess is the Knight, she was already fallen down when she entered the Darkness, half-turned to dust, clinging to her bat, and the fusion of her Lightner self and the dead dust coating her bat is what allows the Knight to maintain its form and power. Susie saw the Knight in the Light World, and if she saw them as a Lightner at all, she would have mentioned such and described it like she did with the code in the guitar. Even if it was someone she didn't recognize, she'd be eager to find out who it was and stop them after they took Undyne and tried to take Toriel. Especially if it was Carol, Susie is headstrong enough to at least want to call her out or bring it up to Kris after meeting her in the Holiday house. Also the Titan's face shield looks like the light of a SAVE point and idk I just think that's interesting.

THE LAST PROPHECY IS THE WEIRD ROUTE/SNOWGRAVE: This is by far the one I believe the most. Shayy, in their Weird Route reaction video, brought up an idea that the Weird Route might result in a Chapter 5 Bad Ending, and we all know that the Roaring is near. Hell, we fought a Titan already; it's reasonable to assume it could happen as soon as Chapter 5 if the Knight deems us enough of a threat. The most interesting part of this, though, was the prophecy mentioning the "last girl." It's pretty clear that "the second hero, the girl with hope crossed on her heart" is NOT the girl referred to in the segments "and last was the girl/at last was the girl," and "love finds its way to the girl." Another interesting and important fact is that the prophecies are all in capital letters. This could mean "love" as in a relationship (i.e. Suselle) or "LOVE." "Level Of ViolencE" makes its return. Interestingly enough, in the code, the LV displayed in-game that increases every chapter is called "False LV" with a hidden stat labeled "Level" that appears currently unused. My theory here is that the "last girl" is in fact Noelle, the unwanted bad ending is the girl killing others to become stronger (hence Ralsei "especially not letting it happen" given he already admonished Susie's violence in Ch1) and that is the only way to save the world in the Prophecy. This could also result in the girl's death; we saw that Snowgrave (the spell) already took a lot out of Noelle when it was used the first time. If she were to get even stronger, what could a stronger version of that look like? Something powerful enough to easily kill a Titan, to defeat the Knight?

Might add onto this with later ideas I have, we'll see.

One year later...

Y/N leaned her elbows against the kitchen island, taking some of the pressure off her feet and aching joints as she talked with Jensen. He sat on the other side of the island, sorting through the mail he'd just picked up.

"Come on, why don't you wanna go?"

"No one likes going to their high school reunion, Babe."

"But you're you. You were popular, and you're still popular. I don't see the problem. Isn't it like something to look forward to for people like you?"

He chuckled and shook his head. "Fine, I'll go. But only if you come with me," he said, wrapping his arms around her waist, which was growing harder as her stomach expanded with their soon-to-arrive child.

Y/N groaned and rolled her eyes dramatically.

"Come on, your last reunion wasn't so bad," he teased, pecking her lips. She smiled up at him, remembering standing like this with him when they danced at her reunion, where they'd met. "And I'll get to show off my smokin' hot wife," he added, kissing her hungrily. She knew she'd do anything he asked; she just liked to tease him or make him work for it sometimes.

The reunion was lovely, much like her own, held in a local hotel, and decorated to the theme of their high school era. It was easier for her to attend, since she didn't know anyone and didn't have to worry about bullies and others from her past. Just as she'd suspected, everyone was friendly and excited to see Jensen. He was loved then and still loved now, and she was more than happy watching as he socialized and charmed those around him.

She was surprised, however, to have her ogling of her husband interrupted by none other than Amanda, who had been her high school bully, among others, and had made her uncomfortable at their reunion.

"Amanda?"

"Hey, Y/N," she greeted with a small smile.

"What are you doing here?"

"My husband, Adam, went to school with Jensen. Since he came to my reunion, it was only fair I attend his," she shrugged. Before Y/N could say anything or escape to hide from another altercation, Amanda surprised her once again. "I just wanted to apologize for how I was back at the reunion and back in the day."

That was something she never thought would happen, but Amanda had her undivided attention now as she wrung her hands and blushed, clearly uncomfortable but trying nonetheless.

"I don't know why I did that. It just felt like we were back in school, and I had to act a certain way," she sighed, and Y/N offered her a gentle smile. "And I'm sorry about Glenda. She took pictures of you two and posted them online, saying horrible things. Anyway, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for all of it."

"Thank you," Y/N responded, feeling a weight lift from her shoulders.

"So, you and Jensen are married now?" she asked, moving on from the tension and easing into more casual conversation. "And expecting! Congratulations!"

Y/N grinned and ran a hand over her large, protruding belly. "Yeah, just a couple of months and we'll get to meet them."

"I'm really happy for you," Amanda said, waving over to a man across the way. "I have to get back to Adam, but it was really good to see you again."

"You too," Y/N smiled as Amanda walked away. 

"Everything alright?" Jensen asked, his arm coming around her lower back as he whispered to her, his eyes lingering on a retreating Amanda.

"Everything's fine," she promised, pecking his lips.

"You wanna get out of here? Maybe get something to eat?" he asked. 

Y/N grinned, thinking of her reunion and that first night that felt like a date. Her stomach grumbled, and they both laughed as he said his goodbyes and ushered her to the parking lot. He stopped to pick up burgers and fries, just like before. However, instead of driving out to nowhere, Jensen drove her back to their hotel for the night, knowing that being pregnant often made her uncomfortable.

He knelt and removed her shoes, helping her to get undressed and settled in the large bed. Once comfy against the headboard, she moaned, grateful to have the added weight and pressure off her sore feet. He handed her a burger, and she dug in, always feeling like she was starving, moaning around the large bite she took.

Jensen chuckled, "I know how to please my lady," he teased, and she nodded, taking another enormous bite. Jensen grinned and joined her, enjoying her every reaction.

He was always attentive and caring, but since she began showing, he became a mother hen. Always at her side, making sure she ate, going out at all hours to fulfill her every craving. Once they were done eating, they settled into bed and Jensen rested with his head on her chest, a large hand rubbing over her swollen stomach.

"How was the honeymoon?" Y/N grinned into her phone.

"Absolutely blissful," Lana responded, her face lit up and dreamy on the video call, before her brow furrowed as she searched over Y/N's video. "Are you in the hospital?"

"We had the baby," she answered, giggling at Lana's shrill shriek of joy.

"Oh! Oh! Can I see the baby?"

Y/N turned the phone, holding it up to show a grinning Jensen holding a tiny pink-wrapped bundle in his arms.

"It's a girl?! She's so tiny!" Lana swooned and cooed over the small child. "Lookin' pretty good holdin' a baby there, Jensen," she teased.

Y/N let her eyes roam over her husband, and she couldn't agree more. He was handsome as ever, a blush and grin on his face that had been there for hours. He was steady as a rock when she went into labor, having planned out everything as he usually did, and grabbing her and her bags, getting them to the hospital in record time. He never left her side, holding her hand, praising and encouraging her as she gave birth. Seeing him now, holding their small child, sent her heart into new heights of love and adoration. She always knew he’d look great with children, and she was confident he’d be the best father.

"What are you gonna name her?" Lana asked. Y/N turned the phone back to herself as Jensen sat beside her on the small bed, their daughter safely in his arms.

"Lana," Jensen responded, laughing at her shocked gasp. "You're the reason I even have these two beautiful girls in my life."

"I'm gonna cry," Lana sniffed and wiped at her eyes.

After promising to call and send a ton of photos, they ended the call. Y/N turned to Jensen, accepting Little Lana from his arms, snuggling into him as he wrapped his arms around her. He leaned his chin on her shoulder, his eyes unwilling to leave the tiny, squirming child that was his. His and Y/N's.

"I love you," Y/N whispered to her daughter, smiling as the girl played with her fingers. "And I love you," she added, turning her head and pecking Jensen's cheek. High school reunions and meddling best friends weren't so bad after all.

Honestly I... didn't like... tpot 18... I'll be talking about it so spoilers for it below the cut

The challenge SUCKED like I think it could've been handled wayyyy better. It was so confusing. In the end, I didn't know if the memories were overwritten, hence why they couldn't find Lolli's card, or if they couldn't be altered whatsoever and four did that just to fuck around with them. I still liked four in this ep, tho. Always happy to see my fave algebralien >:3

Big part of the reason why I just don't vibe with this ep is because my expectations were through the roof. First, I'd thought leafy and firey would make AT LEAST a small cameo (which didn't happen. Even though I'm not a fan of them, I was hoping to see if their storyline progressed). Then, I hoped the match-ruby-bubble situation would be handled and resolved WAY BETTER??? like. While I want to believe that's not the last we'll see of it, cuz match was uncomfortable going up to bubble, I doubt they'll give them full closure 😭 it's a shame bc freesmart has a really interesting and deep storyline with manymanymany loose ends... which give jnj room to do many interesting things. Sigh.

And lastly. This is more of a pet peeve rather than anything else but BRUH I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE GELATIN AND BALLOONY AND THEY BARELY GOT ANY SCREENTIME is this what I must pay for their cameos in bfdia.

For me, the most enjoyable thing about the ep was Taco, I kinda miss her ngl... friend pointed out her similarities to lobby so I've been meaning to revisit her. Girlboss 💪

Overall, mid episode, but it was nice to see the bfb guys after so long. I'd be funny if this is meant to be divisive and. Trashy. like post-split ON PURPOSE. Alsoalso I wanna see loser and winner's reunion :3 that'd be interesting!!!

Glinda mentions to Elphaba how Fiyero can't stop thinking about that moment in Dillamond's class, or that he's having thoughts in general and how it worries her because it's not something she's used to from him (which is him thinking about actual things), in contrast to Elphaba, who doesn't seem all that bothered and, even more so interested in the manner when Fiyero brings up how he can't stop thinking about when they rescued the lion cub. I don't know about everyone else but for me, even with this scene probably being added for lighthearted value, I also see it as another piece in the puzzle cementing how Fiyero's and Glinda's actions will, eventually, either pull them closer or further away from Elphaba. I lowkey don't like it when people act surprised or confused as to why Glinda was spelled or get annoyed that Fiyero is in her place but I, personally, don't think she would have helped in that moment, specifically in the movie.

Prior to the train scene, Glinda is shown to, not only, be completely rude and spoiled (as shown with her literally fainting over not getting her way), when in class, she publicly points out Dillamond's inability to pronounce her name correctly even though it's an obvious struggle, parading in front of the class how easier it was for her other teachers to do it, then being dismissive during the rest of the lesson when learning the importance of history and why to learn from it (correct me if I'm wrong, as it has been a minute since I've seen the movie). All that already tells me that she doesn't really care for the animals' cause, let alone enough to follow Elphaba and Fiyero into the woods after stealing the lion cub and I think, subconsciously, Elphaba knew that. In fact, I can only see Glinda trying to sway them to leave the cub and how what their new professor wanted to teach probably wasn't all that bad (not saying that she would want the cub to be harmed, just that she would try to rationalize what's going as we've seen her do before). This is the same woman who, after learning that the Wizard was a fraud and responsible for the missing and harmed animals, still tried to justify his actions and berated Elphaba for not "acting accordingly" to the news, but yet we still think she should have been there to save the lion cub? That she would have helped those animals alongside Fiyero and Elphaba? I think it could allude to how Glinda could/will be used to help further push propaganda for the Wizard, especially given how it benefits her socially, as figures of propaganda often don't think too hard, or enough to critique the system around them not because they aren't smart enough too (for the most part), but more so because they understand how their world works and understand the consequences that follow when stepping out of line.

You don't have to like Fiyeraba or even find Fiyero interesting, but to purposely ignore what the movie is presenting you is such a cop-out. Fiyero enters the film being a sort of anti-establishment-like character, caring little if he gets kicked out of Shiz for breaking the rules, or just hardly caring in general (something Elphaba calls him out for), and so on. Why wouldn't he be down to rescue the lion? Even if it was to just feed his rebellious streak, he still would have gone, but when he and Elphaba meet, he's on a talking horse and they are conversing like lifelong friends. That might add another layer to the pair saving the lion. Even if he wasn't on the same level as Elphaba at that moment, the train scene shows that it had a profound impact on him that he couldn't shake. I think, had he been presented with the choice of joining Elphaba or staying, he would have gone, not only for her but also because he now knows that the Wizard is a fraud and most definitely wouldn't stand for what he [Oz] is doing. This is what sets him apart from Glinda which, isn't necessarily me hating on her but just stating facts. Glinda isn't/won't be willing to sacrifice her position and what it brings her, until it's too late (which is the tragedy of her character and her relationship with Elphaba), while Fiyero risks everything, even to some extent his own body (Scarecrow) and, in the end, gets to stand with Elphaba.

I can feel my Jamie fixation slipping away, but at least there's something to replace it with this time.

Recently someone got me thinking about a particular shiny hunt I'd started ages ago (possibly over a year) and never finished.

The hunt for a shiny female Cyndaquil.

While I've been lucky in the past and stumbled into shiny female starters and others of a similar gender ratio, this is the first time I've sought out a female. And I have a very specific reason for it.

My first ever Soul Silver file, the game I hold the deepest love and nostalgia for due to several factors.

To start that file, I knew two things; One, my starter would stay a Quilava. Two, I wanted it to be female. So I reset and reset for a female Cyndaquil, finally getting her and naming her Quince.

In that game I ended up with; Quince the Quilava Stella the Furret Pigeon the Pidgeot Mary the Ampharos Cobra the Arbok and Victor the Victreebel.

These guys joined me as I poked every corner of Johto and Kanto, sought out every secret. They comforted me as I moved from one home to another. I had them before I knew about Nuzlockes, before I used natures to build character off of. Likely before Jamie was a thing. This file was so well loved that I completed it's 493-count Pokedex without the use of Action Replay. (Although cheated Pokemon from Diamond and Pearl probably had a heavy hand in that, lol.) They are currently sitting in Home at around level 90 from our time spent together.

And so, when I noticed a very real opportunity, I decided it would be fun to rebuild the team in shiny form.

I got Pigeon, Cobra, and Victor in Let's Go a long time ago now, and soon after that I started the hardest of the group; Cyndaquil. That hunt being in Legends Arceus. I got a few shiny males before my drive drifted away and I went on to other things.

But a few days ago I picked it back up... and the first shiny I got was female.

So I now have my beloved Quince in shiny form!

She's staying a Cyndaquil for now, but one day she will reach her final form as a glorious Quilava~

Currently I have two more to get; Stella the Sentret, and Mary the Mareep. Both of which I'll be Radar hunting in Shining Pearl. ^^
