“Shoot,” you grunted, sigh after sigh leaving your mouth before you screamed into your pillow. Your hair was a mess, the mug of warm lavender tea long forgotten and cold by the table lamp while your laptop screen was stuck with the face of your Classical Mechanics professor but his booming voice still on-going despite the scratchy and crackly quality until it finally stopped.
You had done all your due diligence, rebooting the modem, resetting your router, checking your network configurations and even switching to the dorm’s weak internet to your own phone hot spot, but nothing was working despite the full four white bars next to the name of your phone operator company’s name, Cell4. Leaving the dorm just to go to campus’s library is a hassle as this lecture was about to end in 45 minutes. Scrolling through your contacts, you finally found the Customer’s Support number from Cell4 that had been automatically saved when you had registered for your phone number the very first time you held the small pink Samsung in between your fingers.
The dial tone was crisp and audible, the typical hold music dancing through your ears before you were greeted with a woman’s synthetic voice asking you to press certain numbers to fit which representative you were supposed to solve your mobile issues with. It did not take long as you finally heard a gentle and warm voice saying, “Thank you for calling Cell4, this is Bernard speaking. How can I brighten your day today?”
On Bernard’s, or Matthew’s side, there was a moment of static, a slight spark followed by a small, frustrated sigh crackling through the line.
You finally stood up from the wooden floor of your room, back now resting against your bed with your index and thumb softly pinching your nose to ease the stress. “Hi, uh, sorry. I think my internet’s having an absolute meltdown. I’ve tried everything but it seems like I have to use the dial-up internet cause it’s acting like it’s stuck in 2009.”
Matt leaned back in his headset, the corner of his mouth rising up into a cheeky smile after making out the frazzled but clearly young voice. This was finally his time to shine and crack some jokes that were rarely appreciated by his older customers. He cracked his knuckles before clearing his voice to answer, “No worries at all. You’re talking to someone who as a kid dialed his computer teacher in primary school thinking that the internet was monitored by them. You’re in absolute good hands, miss.”
A chortle fuzzed through his headset as you replied with a similar manner to ease the situation, “Are you guys trained to do that? It’s in the manual?”
“Oh, absolutely. Step one: sound vaguely competent and then proceed to step two…” Matt said, his voice trailing off, making you curious.
“Bernard? Are you still there?”
“I was just messing with you. Step two was actually to charm the caller until they forget why they called and were mad in the first place.”
You couldn’t hold in your laughter, bright and clear through your receiver which made Matt break into a wide gummy grin, “Alright, alright Bernard from Cell4. How do we fix this?”
Matt chuckled on the other end, flipping through a binder that had the step-by-step guide to fix your potential problem. Although he knew everything by heart and memory, it was always a habit of him to have something to fiddle with in his hands, which was partly a reason why he got transferred to customer service when his supervisor had found him tampering with the wires and chargers of the display phones.
The sound of the crisp pages flipping could be heard on your end, your dubiousness slowly growing as the phone call quality was oddly good. But it all soon went away as Matt asked you his first question.
“Well, I am going to be asking you some highly complicated and mysterious questions, like… is your modem plugged in?”
“Wow, so we’re going straight to the hard stuff, huh?” “I told you, we’re not playing games here,” Matt answered, fingers still folding and unfolding the corners of the customer guide.
Tumblr media
The call proceed for the next six minutes, him guiding you through restarts, reboots, resets and other obscure steps involving buttons and wires you had no idea even existed. Despite his constant jokes, Matt still explained things clearly and earnestly, never sounding annoyed and even calling the internet an “anxious printer who can sense your fear.”
With his guidance, your frustration soon fizzled away. Your complaints and whining disappearing and replaced with strings of laughter and pain in the cheeks. You were sure that your left shoulder was going to be strained tomorrow morning from constantly leaning your neck against it to support your phone in between your ear, but Matt was making it all worth it. Eventually, his help had paid its price when you could see not only he face of your professor, but also his slides where he had already jotted with scribbled numbers, enthralling mathematical symbols and diagrams which could easily be mistaken with a 19th century mathematical discovery.
Matt could hear the voice resonating from your laptop and uttered, “Finally back from the digital afterlife?”
“Thank you so, so much Bernard,” you said, hoping the smile that you had on your face could somehow be heard through his headset, “I can now finally continue listening to my riveting lecture on Euclidean space.”
“Whoah, slow down there Einstein. It’s part of my job. I only expect a Bernard shoutout when you get to do your valedictorian speech,” he teased.
You let out a soft giggle, “I definitely would. After thanking my pug, Mr. Winston and the girl who wiped the lipgloss of my teeth during orientation.”
He stood up for a moment to straighten his back and excitedly answered upon hearing the word ‘pug’.
“Wait, you have a pug called Mr. Winston? I have a stuffed pug called Mr. Wrinkleton!”
“For real?” you said, back straightened as well. “And you’re not offended that you’re gonna be the third person I thank in my speech?”
“You got me with the pug so it doesn’t matter anymore,” he chimed, the gummy smile still evident on his face.
Your face was also plastered with a grin, the excitement buzzing through your body. Bernard, or Matt, is an anonymous entity, but the thrill of his anonymity, with no face claim gives you a kick of confidence to enjoy the conversation without having to be worried about being perceived. The silent pause that you both shared was not awkward, but you both knew that his job here was done but none of you were quite ready to hang up just yet.
Until Matt broke it first.
“So… I can’t legally say this or HR is gonna be at my as- I mean my coattails,” he corrected, knowing that all his conversations are indeed recorded if complaints were to arise from a poor survey and one-star review to the company. “But I feel like I owe it to the future valedictorian that your laugh might’ve fixed my boring night more than I fixed your internet.” You blink once. Twice. Your cheeks now reddening.
“Are you flirting with a customer, Bernard?”
“I am just expressing my appreciation, professionally, for the sporting attitude and well-timed giggles that we had shared, professionally again, of course,” Matt answered proudly.
You laughed again, this time louder before coming up with an equally charming and professional reply, “Well, Bernard from Cell4, I would say that you are my go-to if I ever need help with anything.”
“You know my number. Same jokes, same charm every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday until 7pm.”
There was slight hesitation when you wanted to answer him, but you only live once and it had been a long while since you had such a good laugh now that it is almost finals season.
“Hey, so, um… I know that there’s going to be a survey at the end of this call and my internet package is limited to only 50GB per month… Do you think I can get bonus data if I say that you’re very, very, very helpful and maybe also kind of cute?” you said, stretching the ends of your words.
Matt was basically cheesing now through the mic, now clearing his throat before muttering, “Only if you spell ‘cute’ in all caps.”
“100%,” you replied, the physics lecture only now jumping into your senses when you could hear the professor mentioning the potential topics during your exam, “I should probably go now and pretend to be a competent student.”
“And I should go back and take another call while pretending to be a competent calls rep who pretends to not miss this one.” You could hear your heart skip a beat, the warmth coming up to your cheeks as your stomach felt giddy with butterflies.
This is just another phone operator representative. A different kind of smooth operator.
“Talk soon, maybe?”
He chuckled, “Only if you’re breaking up now. Because I think I am smitten.”
“Bye, Bernard,” you giggled, tapping on your phone to let the call end before he could give you another one of his charms, fingers immediately going to fill in the survey as your lecture played in the background like a podcast.
Tumblr media
You knew that Cell4 usually sends in a reply whenever a survey has been successfully received, but this time it was a lot special. And unusually fast.
Putting down the pen that you had in your hand from copying your professor’s slides, you tapped on the green Messages app where you got a text from Cell4.
Thank you for your call. We hope your connection stays strong. P.S.: And so should ours. - M. Bernard ;)
Maybe losing the internet was not so bad after all.
But is M his last name, or is it Bernard? The curiosity itched your brain, but you knew that you could count on your detective of a best friend to search for him on Instagram.
The internet really does wonders to people, doesn’t it?

Giant monster tamer megathread
Decided for the sake of education and my own neurodiversity to make a post including every video game series or stand alone title I know of that focuses on creature capturing competitions that isn't Pokemon.
One big exception: the game has to be a reasonably playable state. So no games that are effectively or literally lost media (like Micromon) or games that only playable state is currently a short demo (like Bestieball). With that in mind here we go:
Digimon
This one is pretty obvious. While more of a multimedia franchise it has tons of games to its IP. The one that probably would appeal most to Pokenerds is Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and its sequel as they're turned based RPGs with a monster capture mechanic.
Monster Rancher
Another one I think a lot of folks have heard about or least millennials would remember. I haven't personally played any of these titles myself but from what I gather they're raising sims with tournament combat. For a while their availability was mostly limited to emulation but Monster Rancher 1 and 2 have been ported to modern systems like the Switch.
Yo-kai Watch
A mid 2010s franchise that had a whole lot of initial success in Japan. Its an RPG series that doesn't take itself very seriously with cute and goofy monster design based on the Japanese folklore creatures called... well yokai. Has real time combat instead of turn based and more luck based capturing mechanics than Pokemon.
Palworld
Brand new game that's only in its alpha release as of now. Its effectively a parody of Pokemon where you're stuck trying to survive in the wilderness so you must build a base and farm resources to survive. Game did have some initial controversy due to some of its designs stepping a little TOO close to being outright ripoffs of existing designs. Also you can capture and enslave humans which may not vibe with some folks.
Temtem
Basically Pokemon meets a MMO lite. The game can be played mostly as single player campaign but does unfortunately still require a constant internet connection. Battles are turned based but 2 versus 2.
Shin Megami Tensei
What could be consider the original monster tamer game. The series is aimed at a somewhat older audience and the plots tend to be more philosophical then like "gotta be the best *insert title here* ever". Focuses a lot on fusing monsters as well as trying to convince them to join you. You actually battle alongside your monsters.
Dragon Quest Monsters
Monster Capturing mechanics do exist in the mainline DQ games as well (at least since DQ5 I think?) but its these games have them as the main gameplay. Much like SMT it focuses on fusing monsters as one of the main ways to expand your library off available species.
Nexomon
Franchise that started its life as a mobile game but has since gotten ports to other systems. Its very similar to Pokemon in terms of creature designs and combat but the worldbuilding is quite different as is its tone being a lot more comedic.
Coromon
Indie game with visuals similar to Pokemon Black and White. Its story was originally kinda so-so and its ending pretty abrupt but its since gotten a free patch that smoothed that out quite a bit. Also has a sorta unique "shiny" system where alternate colors are associated with higher potential which can actually be altered once. Also has a built in randomizer and "nuzlocke" mode.
Cassette Beasts
A pretty recent indie game. Unlike all the others you don't capture or hatch monsters but rather record them to transform into them yourself. Battles are always between you and a companion which there are multiple to befriend throughout your journey (including a dog!). Has some really interesting quirks with its type chart that adds a lot of extra depth. Will soon be releasing a mutiplayer update for anyone that's into that kind of thing.
Monster Crown
A game with visual based on the Gameboy era. It has some pretty fascinating breeding mechanics and a somewhat darker tone than Pokemon. WARNING: DO NOT GET THE SWITCH PORT! For whatever reason its especially glitchy and I have genuinely gotten entire save files ruined by game breaking bugs (such as my player character getting stuck in walls or clipping out of a bounds). As far as I'm aware the PC version is not nearly as much as a mess though.
Monster Sanctuary
Monster collecting meets metroidvania. Has a really fun skill tree type move learning system that allows for quite a bit of strategy. Also the monster designs are way less Pokemon and more inspired by traditional roleplay monsters (so there's like Goblins and stuff). My only gripe with the game is how you get monsters involves getting specific scores in battle which makes getting 1 of each monster way more tedious than it needed to be.
Fossil Fighters
Franchise is maybe dead since there hasn't been a new entry in it since the 3DS but its still easy enough to these games. Anyway this series involve reviving dinosaurs (and some other ancient animals) into new lifeforms called vivosaur and using them in 3 on 3 combat. Vivosaurs are obtained with a fossil digging minigame which is kinda neat.
Spectrobes
Another franchise that's been pretty dead for a while (it last entry was on the Wii). Spectrobes has a more sci fi like setting with its monsters being aliens you revive from fossils. Combat is real time and you participate alongside a couple of your monsters. I'm btw describing only the first game because I haven't played either sequel!
Evocreo
Mobile only monster game with a style similar to Pokemon Black and White not unlike Coromon mentioned above. Has a lot of focus on split path evolution. The devs are apparently going to release a sequel soon but its been in development hell for years so I'll come back and edit this if that actually happens.
Monster Hunter Stories
I have not played nor watched gameplay of this one so I can't really describe it that deeply all I know is its a spinoff of Monster Hunter involving befriending and using the titular monsters in combat.
Telefang
Its sad this game series is most famous for being badly translated and repackaged as a Pokemon game. Anyway these are Japanese only titles though fan translations exist. The gimmick of this game is that you call monsters up on your cellphone to get them over to participate in combat. This series this sprout out when cellphones were consider newfangled and hip so it makes sense.
Anode Heart
Pretty sure this one is PC only. Takes some inspiration from the Digimon World games and is semi open world. Sadly this one I don't know much about outside of that though it does have a free demo on Steam for anyone that wants to try it for themselves.
Ooblets
Extremely wholesome monster catching and farming game. Battles are actually dancing competitions instead of violent confrontations and monsters are recruited simply by beating them in a fight. Thing is monsters will only fight you if you offer them their favourite food so that's where strategy comes in.
Moonstone Island
I know very little about this one except its also a monster catching and farming game. I've heard that its really good though and I believe its PC only right now but has a planned Switch port.
Timenet
Probably the most obscure ass monster tamer on this entire list. This is a Japanese exclusive set of Gameboy games featuring very cute monster designs... and Hello Kitty. Yes Sanrio made a monster tamer back in the late 90s. I only learned this even existed after scrolling down a comment section on a random YouTube video.
Abomi Nation
I'm mostly excluding roguelike games due to most having nothing but battles an 0 plot but this one does actually has a story! You play as the actual monster as you make your way through somewhat randomly generated maps with lots of other randomized elements. The game allows for a lot of customization including turning off permadeath if you're not a fan of that. The visual style is a bit crude but its still a pretty cute game.
Jade Concoon
Another somewhat obscure entry but at least this one got an English release. Anyway its an old RPG for the PSX with monster capturing and a very fascinating monster fusing mechanic that uses an algorithm to determine the appearance of the fusion. The player character can also participate in battle and the plot is very complex. The game also has a sequel on the PS2 but I know even less about that one.
Robopon
Now if you thought Palworld was bordering on some copyright infringement this game is basically nothing but "Pokemon but the designs are robots". Still worth bringing up I think!
Ni No Kuni
Not sure how I got to mentioning several obscure titles and somehow didn't mention something that really isn't. Ni No Kuni is real time battles between you and 2 party members. You can both battle as the actual human characters or switch into a monster. Wrath of the White Witch's visual style in particular is very whimsical and even has some animated cutscene done by Studio Ghibli. I haven't played any other game in the franchise.
Siralim
I haven't played any entry in this series yet (there's apparently 4 games + a spinoff) but from reading up on the most recent entry these are basically procedurally generated dungeon crawlers with an insane level of depth. The story is apparently not that great but the games themselves apparently also make fun of it so it seems its an intentional dev choice. Battles are 6 on 6 and there's over 1000 monsters to collect.
Disc Creatures
A monster tamer with a visual style similar to the Gameboy and Gameboy Color. It has 3 on 3 combat. Impressively I'm pretty sure it was developed by just one person in the RPG Maker engine (I'm honestly surprised this is the first indie game made with ya know... an engine meant for turned based RPGs).
Monster Harvest
A Dungeon crawler mixed with farming. Its a bit shorter than anything else I've mentioned here and its a bit glitchy but its a cute little game worth picking up on sale at the least. Notably also only about a 1/3 of the monster in the game are combative with the rest being either used for farming resources or as mounts.
Loomian Legacy
A Roblox monster tamer.... yes there's 2 of those in this (I could even have added 3 but I think one is in still a pretty early state). Pretty sure this started as a Pokemon fangame and become its own thing later. It has your typical 1 on 1 turn based combat and all that. I think its free to play and there's like several hours of content on it so maybe worth a gander.
Tales of Tonorio
Pretty sure this is the same basic deal as Loomian (Roblox game, started as a Pokemon fan game, etc etc) though its has its own world building and creature designs since I'm pretty sure its made by a completely different team.
So yeah that's all of them I can think of right now. If I learn of others and/or there's new releases I may expand this.
PS: There is almost certainly numerous typoes in this. This post is way longer than anything else I've ever made on Tumblr so I can't be arse to fix them you're just going to have to deal!

Big changes on the horizon! DotS updates and more!
Happy New Year!! With a new year in front of us, there's new opportunities awaiting us all! This year I've decided to finally go for it, and chase a dream I've been running away from for years!
I'm finally going to launch a YouTube channel sometime this year alongside dusting off my poor old Twitch account! Right now I've got a lot to prep, but this is something I've been wanting to do for a very long time, and never thought myself prepared or good enough for it. Well, last year was all about taking big leaps and just gunning for it, so that's exactly what I'm doing
The channel will (unsurprisingly) be about games, and bringing a new method of reviewing games based on multiple factors. Throughout the next few months, I'll actually be reaching out to gaming communities and asking you all various questions to help me identify different types of gamers! I'm creating a gamer spectrum and multiple profiles to help gamers find their matches.
No more confusing numbers and biased reviews! Finally asking the most important question at the core of every game: is it fun? Visuals, style, narrative (or the lack there of) can be easily cast aside if the core of the game is just fun! That's what a game should always be at base 💖
It's a huge ambition, aiming to shake up the reviewing world, but it's something I'm passionate about! I hope it'll take off, and inspire more people to give the system a shot. I don't plan to do it forever, and eventually move on to new things or just focusing on let's-plays (which I intend to do in addition to reviews, clips from Twitch streams and the like).
This is basically gonna be my day job that I'll juggle alongside my comic, and since I won't be under time constraints or physically exhausted, it shouldn't affect my comic any!
So how's DotS:MMM going to look like going forward?
My posting schedule for DotS:MMM is going to likely be 1 page a month for the time being until I can really make headway on pages! Frankly I've been stuck on one page in particular, since I've needed to remake it entirely, and it's been bugging me for months. I believe I've gotten something down finally, so with the Holidays finally behind us, I should finally have a bit more time to work on pages. My mobile tablet setup helps so much with my art away from my computer!!
My drawing energy has been really low in past months since it was so busy, but I'm getting the itch again as I'm shaking off the holiday glaze! You guys will know I'm back in action when a page suddenly appears, hehehee!
In conclusion—
The comic won't stop anytime soon, just pages are gonna be slow for a while! I have loads of graphics to make for my new channel, and I'm also making a Live2D model to accompany. My reasons for this is simply that I don't like putting my real face on the internet, and prefer my privacy, so I'm creating a cartoon avatar that represents me— much like Saberspark has, with still images in various poses, and of course an actual live model to represent my face on both videos and livestreaming. It's a lot to learn and program, so I've got a bunch of work ahead of me!
I'll do my best to involve you guys in the future of this channel, asking questions and what you all think I should name things for the channel!! You all have been with me for so long, it only feels right, y'know?
Anyhow, thank you so much for reading!! I hope you've had a wonderful New Year, and that great things await you on the horizon!💖

I think I should put in my two cents considering the Hazbin hotel leaked Angel Dust clip. I’ll say that this post should be one absolutely massive trigger warning. If you’re sensitive please don’t read this, I’m pretty blunt. Also I’m only talking about a small leak but SPOILERS!!!
So before I make any points I’ll start by saying that I’m not an inherent fan of vivziepop, this isn’t meat riding, it’s a genuine attempt at open conversation and discussion. I’ll also say I’m a survivor myself and while I don’t claim to speak for anyone else I have some ground to stand on here. I completely understand that people can be triggered by this type of imagery and will at least skip this particular scene or episode, I promise I’m not talking about you guys.
You wanna know who I am talking about though? The weird ass moral police I’ve been watching mobilize. It’s crazy how people are making a big deal out of this. I’ve seen three arguments and all of them are terrible in themselves and being used to justify terrible behavior.
I’ve only seen people claim three major things, this is a bad depiction of a s/a survivor and situation, this is something that’s too graphic and immoral to put in a TV show, the fact that the singing and dancing lightens the tone in a way people find distasteful. I’m going to be trying to prove why I find these arguments mostly ridiculous and unfounded.
As for argument one, s/a survivors come in all shapes and sizes and hyper sexuality happens to be an incredibly common reaction to sexual trauma. I haven’t watched episode one and two but even if I had I’d still have too small of a sample size to determine the entire tone of an incredibly messed up complex dynamic between too incredibly interesting and layered characters. It’s ridiculous to have so many assumptions and expectations of an *11 second leaked clip.*
Secondly. Creative freedom is possible the most important thing in art. If we didn’t have the freedom to put what we wanted on paper or on screen then we wouldn’t have had so much societal change recently. Just because you might find something distasteful and immoral doesn’t mean it absolutely has to be hated on and removed. It’s okay to not like things because you find them gross, it’s okay to not enjoy graphic depictions of serious subjects, it’s not okay to start internet wars over moral bullshit. It’s okay to be mad in silence sometimes, guys.
Thirdly. I kinda get this one, I don’t agree with it but I do understand the point. The idea you don’t want a serious subject framed with a sexy pop song is not inherently bad, it’s just something that makes me think you wouldn’t have liked Hazbin Hotel anyway. I actually appreciate the fact they are using the creative medium to make bold and shocking decisions but I get some people are sensitive to new things, that’s fine. Where this argument gets ridiculous is when people act like this is very out of line for a show like this. This isn’t a Saturday morning kids cartoon it’s and adult animated show about people in hell. It’s highly likely that this won’t be the worst thing we see, you either need to heed the trigger warnings at the beginning of each episode or get over it.
You’ll notice that I didn’t bring up anything about the merchandise pins or the storyboard artist, I did this because they aren’t arguments but barely related attempts at character assassinations. When you spend five minutes thinking about them critically you come to realize that there is nothing substantial to those arguments.
I’d like to finish up talking about how I think this scene is doing more good than harm. It’s important to make people uncomfortable when you’re talking about things so horrible like s/a and rape. It shouldn’t be meek and palatable for a general audience, it should upset you. I remember hearing something in a video game once that stuck with me. There was a character who said that when you’re sick you need strong medicine and that the strongest medication is very bitter.
I think episode four will be some very bitter medicine.

You know if I could make a Wreck It Ralph sequel I would make it about the slow death of arcades where Ralph and friends have to travel to find a new place to call home after the arcade closes down.
It’s abut getting the inevitable progression of time, getting older and how we should be more mindful of the past and how we should preserve it for the future.
Anyways I want there to be a moment where Ralph learns that his series really took off into its own cause it turns out people wanted to play games where he wrecks things instead of fixing it. Mirroring his Donkey Kong influence
Oh fr, I def feel like a movie like that would be gut-wrenching but good ultimately.
Under that premise I feel like a lot could be explored in the realm of consoles. Like everyone flees up the power strip into the power grid. Maybe the plot would revolve around the main cast getting separated, like Calhoun and Vanellope getting stuck in someones nondescript "totally not a PS4" console while Felix and Ralph brave the expanse of the Internet trying to find them.
Maybe there's a toy story 2 buzz moment where a newer, mobile game version of Felix or Ralph swaps out with the one we know.
Explore the concept of going turbo more. Is there a scenario where game jumping is morally grey, or even correct?
I ultimately feel like a WIR sequel could have been great if it had more time in the oven.

'Scuse me while I faceplant in frustration.
I just spoke with a very nice young man at my ISP. On April 29th I reported to said ISP that my internet connection was down. They arranged for an engineer to visit on the morning of May 1st. He did; he tested the two phoneline sockets most in use in my apartment (the single one I do keep in use, and the one in an awkward little wall cupboard where the line first enters my home), determined there was a fault outside said home, and, leaving a device plugged in here, went off to the local exchange to do some testing there and fix the fault he had found beyond my boundaries. He came back and told me it was sorted, and that my fibreoptic connection should take 24 hours to settle back to normal. I reset the router, as their website told me to do, and waited.
As of 19.00 on May 3rd, the hub containing my router is still not showing the correct colour of light, nor is it connecting to the internet, regardless of anything I do (based on their instructions) to fix it. I can't even get into the admin panel. So I texted them back to confirm that the fault had not been resolved.
The aforementioned nice young man phoned me, and the upshot of our conversation was that my hub is probably a secondary problem in all this, since it's refusing to finish its standard rebooting process, for whatever reason.
He has had a new Hub sent to me, but since it was after 7pm on Saturday, and Monday is a bank holiday, I probably won't receive it till Tuesday at the earliest. In the meantime, I'm stuck with limited mobile data.
Tumblr, at least, only seems to need to connect to the net for posting when preloading tags and on hitting "post". Unfortunately, most of my other regular apps and sites, such as Ancestry, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and some of the games I play, only want to load pages below a certain size on mobile data. (AO3 does load things, but chapter by chapter, which is a way I'm not fond of reading with fanfic, tbqh.)
So anything that's, for example, the size of the 1921 census document I've been working to transcribe, will be out for the next couple of days. It's been a pain all week, but it continues to be.
Perhaps it'll be time to concentrate on some of my offline stuff, like home physio and cataloguing my CD collection. But I have stuff I've agreed to do for other people, and I need the internet for that.
Excuse my faceplanting again.
A few years ago I didn't so much mind being minus home internet - when my sis and I lived in Somerset we had to go to the local library to get online! We didn't have phones that could do much of anything on the internet, not 15 years ago. They were beyond both our financial ability. Feels strange that things change so rapidly over such a comparatively short time...

Over the Internet- Part one.
-Fuuta Kajiyama x Reader. College AU.
Tumblr media
Hello! This is my first fic in a very long time. I usually spend my time role-playing rather than inventing works of my own, so this is very new. I do apologize for the short length, and I do hope to advance in my writing. I did really enjoy typing this up, though! For now, please enjoy my first work on this account, and please let me know if you'd like more!
Summary: Y/N has had a crush on a peer in her class for quite a while. Without the courage to approach the mysterious man directly, she chooses a different route: impress him by downloaded his favorite mobile game. Much harder than anticipated, y/n accepts the help of a seasoned player. Little does she know, the face behind the username Pazuzu_0419 is none other than the very man she'd been attempting to impress.
word count: 1.5k
content warning: Cursing, minor mention of blood, toxic gaming community.
“Hell's blazes, just how hard is this game?”
Falling onto her back, y/n laid flat on her mattress. Hair splayed out from under her, fanning and folding in each direction. A cellular device played sound through blanket-stuffed speakers, lightly clutched in her grasp. An MMO that had only graced the screen for but an hour heated the usually cool surface of the phone. With a mere two words, the young woman had been defeated for just about the twentieth time; *You died.* Just why… did she continue playing this stupid game? …
Right. Because of him.
Y/n found herself utterly, ridiculously, and horribly smitten. From the first day in class, seated two rows forward and a bit to the left, a student had caught her gaze. Red tufts of hair stuck up and fell as if he couldn't care much for his appearance; baggy clothes donned his figure, as well as a mask which obscured most of his face. What could he look like under that mask? Short stature, quiet and hardly talked to anyone other than the man who situated himself beside him. What did his voice sound like, how did he talk? His tired eyes sometimes wandered around, and sometimes… if she were lucky… they would meet her own. Not that he noticed her, no. Never did he stop dead in his tracks like she nearly did, and never did he seem to pay mind to her existence. Instead, he'd pull out his phone and toy around with that blasted game of his…. The intrigue and mystery of it all had really gotten to her. How embarrassing, fancying someone who you didn't even know the name of.
And, how embarrassing it was to snoop and watch the person you like play a game, only to download it yourself. With what? The hope to meet him in-game? To maybe develop the courage to walk up to him and introduce yourself? Hello, kind sir. My name is y/n, and I just so happened to look over your shoulder and knew just what game you were playing! What. an. idiot, she was. An hour of gaming… an hour of playing one of her first ever games, and she thought she could breeze through? It's easier than it looks, I'm sure. I will level up in no time! Only to be mocked and scorned by other players in the very lobby she'd respawned in. Dreams of going up to that ginger kid flew out the window– no one wanted y/n in their guild. All these comments relating to HP, and XP, and… whatever. If she must become a seasoned player by herself, then by herself she must.
Picking up her phone again, hovering far above her face, y/n tried again. And again. And again. Each time had been met with teasing and rude comments. Noob; Get off the game; no one wants you here; No, you can't join us. you'll drag us down; You play like a woman; Can you guys shut the hell up? They're clearly new. Huh?
Rereading, rescanning, re-skimming. The singular comment nearly got lost in the rush of new ones, most now completely unrelated to her predicament. Another comment popped up from the same user. Act like you've never been new to a game before. Fuck off. Username Pazuzu_0419. Some other people responded, spanning from dismissive comments to death threats and insults. What a toxic community… Y/N typed in a reply of her own, the first one she could actually muster. Thank you, Pazuzu. …. Nothing back.
Minutes went by. Googling the game for tips and tricks only did so much when one didn't understand video games. Watching videos on a side screen, listening to dialogue that felt almost as foreign as a new language… AOE, Buffer, DPS… oh, how it made her head hurt. A new weapon found its way into her inventory, as well as a new breastplate. Amazing, now to equip these items… ah, they are worse than her current ones. Just her luck. Though, a soft bling did light up the corner of her screen. Another notification. Another message from someone who watched her die, perhaps… she'd just swipe and…
<Join my guild.> -Pazuzu_0419.
A trick..? Maybe he needed a justification to bully her as well. No matter.
<Why? So you, too, can tell me to kill myself?>
Passive aggressive by all means, or just aggressive, y/n had learned quickly that this was a dog eat dog world. Survival of the fittest, and she happened to be at the bottom of the totem pole. Fingers idly clenched harder around the edges of the phone, squinting up at it while waiting for those three little dots to stop wiggling. For his answer. Anticipation. A reason to argue with someone in DMs, to vent off the frustration of losing all of the time. The phone gave way to pressure, slipping from her grasp and landing directly into her face.
“Ah…” y/n groaned, rolling over and allowing the device to slide off to the side. Touching a finger to her lips, of which had been pinned between the phone and her teeth for but a second, she drew it back and… a busted lip. At least, there was a bit of blood. Metallic taste infiltrated her mouth, resulting in a short grimace. Not life threatening, but also… wouldn't be fun going out in public with this either. She picked the phone back up, this time readjusting her position to upright.
<Just join my damn guild, if you wanna quit getting shat on. Or don't, I don't care.> -Pazuzu_0419
Another message… while crude and unwelcoming, they seemed… genuine enough. She supposed, anyway. Though, still suspicious.
<Fine, then. Since you asked me so kindly…>
Though, clicking on their profile seemed fruitful. Achievements, equipment, a high level… the title under the guild name read simply Pazuzu… How original. A new request flashed across the screen. A request to join Pazuzu's guild… Joining let her see there were a couple other members, but otherwise seemed quite barren. Only she and Pazu were online. This felt somehow intimate– not in a weird way, just like this place was meant for close friends. Not a random newbie to the gaming industry. Now they could message a bit more openly. Not in DMs, but in the live guild chat. <Thanks, btw.> No response… of course, just like before. Really, y/n couldn't get a reading on this person. One moment they seemed like an absolute ass, but then the next they cared enough to stick up for her. Frustrating, truly.
<You're lucky I didn't sell this yet.> The next message read off as high and mighty. Like she burdened them by accepting the join request. A soft tch left y/n, though waited patiently to see what they could have meant. That wait hadn't been for long, nor for naught. Equipment had been gifted over in an in-game parcel– decent equipment, at that. Nothing extravagant, but… far better than what must have been rags when compared to her own. Y/N resisted typing another thank you, as it seemed Pazu wouldn't respond to praise. <Use these instead. Better than that shit you got on. I'mma have to log off for tonight. Catch you another time.> And…. they didn't even wait for a goodbye. No time to type, as immediately after that last message had been sent, they logged off.
What… had been the point of all that? Sure, she was grateful. Sure, they helped… but what in Pazu’s right mind caused them to trust a stranger with their gear and log off immediately? No trust had been founded, no chit chat and definitely no pleasantries. Hell, she could just leave the guild and never talk to the bastard again… but she didn’t. And she wouldn't. Instead, she logged off as well. Partially to allow her phone to cool, and mostly because she didn't want to die again, just to repeat the cycle. Not when she could learn from another person on a different day.
Outside, the moon hung high. It smiled and danced with the stars that hardly blinked back down at pedestrians. Perhaps now would be a good time for sleep. Hardly had y/n noticed just how heavy her eyes had become, now feeling much like an anvil forcefully pulled them down. Classes, shopping, homework and now… gaming… all of it had tuckered her out. So, she forcefully pushed herself off the comfortable bed to switch off the light to her small college dorm room. A satisfying click emanated as light became no more. Somewhere behind her, she heard her phone vibrate; most likely a message from a dear friend of hers. Surely Mahiru wouldn't mind too much if y/n skipped out on replying back tonight.
Finally, falling back onto the bed with a soft bounce of the cushion, y/n nestled herself into a comfortable position. Sleep overcame her, and the moon bade her a goodnight.

So turns out I have a stim... that I have been telling myself off over for literally decades.
I was Today Years Old when I realized that my deeply personally-embarrassing "vigorously shake the bad bad intrusive thoughts out of the head!" impulse that I sometimes get very late at night, (when I'm very tired and my brain decides to start acting like a chihuahua on amphetamines) ...was just regular ol' autistic stimming wearing a different hat.
Mind you, shaking my head really hard to 'dislodge' distressing brain weasels was just the first thing my brain suggested to deal with the disregulated feeling of Overtired Brain when I was a kid, and since it actually helped (for unrelated reasons... but still) that somehow stuck as the default 'solution' to the problem.
Turns out just about any very-energetic movement works the same way, though.I tried fast-kicking my feet up and down. Icky feeling was quickly gone, brain promptly chilled out. Tried jiggling my shoulders good and hard. Same result.
Part of me wonders if this also relates to the noticeable shuddering I get through my back and shoulders when I'm feeling really worked up about something... Like maybe my body is frantically mashing the Emergency Overflow Emotional Release Button, trying to just MAKE me shake away the yuck, in an attempt to self-reglate. I've never had it happen when I'm *not* feeling overwhelmed, so that... feels distinctly plausible.
The thing thats currently making me crazy about all this is that I have been mentally castigating myself over this stupid tired-brain impulse for *YEARS* - only to abruptly put 2 and 2 together, completely at random, while playing an unrelated mobile game at ass-o'clock while winding down for bed. (In keeping with the ADHD that I ALSO have, I then promptly abandoned said winding down and spent an hour writing this post instead.)
I honestly didn't even think I *had* any physical stims before tonight, and now I'm wondering what other random personal quirk that I don't think twice about doing, is just this same fucking thing happening elsewhere in my body.
And... I kind of feel like this shouldn't have been able to sneak up on me the way it did, either. Like, I read up on neurodivergence pretty extensively even before I got diagnosed, so I'd understand what I was dealing with. I knew what stims *are*, but just shrugged and went "huh... well, guess that's not one of my symptoms :)" because I didn't see anything on the lists of common ones that sounded like me. But then: SURPRISE! Turns out I do at least one all the goddamn time. I just didn't recognize this for what it was because I wasn't diagnosed until adulthood and because I'd been doing this same thing since I was old enough to stay up late and get overtired in the first place. In my mind it wasn't a symptom or a coping mechanism. It was just a thing I did, even though I was mortified by doing it.
Most of all, though, I'm once again wishing I had fucking known that I had AuDHD when I was growing up, instead of just thinking that I, personally, was a mess. I would've been a lot less harsh on myself, and I could've figured so much of this stuff out decades ago. Instead here I am, eying 40 in the distance, and just now figuring out so many basic bits of the what why and how of my brain. It feels like realizing you've been trying to swim with weights tied to your ankles all this time, wondering why you always seem to have so much trouble staying afloat...
[Standard "This was written very late at night by a very tired person on the internet who has 'Can't Regulate Focus For Shit' disease, so if it's rambly or full of typos, kindly pretend that it isn't" disclaimer]

i hadnt seen you in a while, and then you came back... youre back... youve blessed us with your presence once more
Yeah, sorry about that! At the start of August my internet just... stopped working. It took months of fighting with my provider before I just gave up and got new internet through someone else. In the meantime, I was stuck with very limited mobile data that I had to ration, so sadly my Tumblr activity had to be cut.
I am fully back now, though! And I've got so much I'm working on, I can't wait to show y'all!

I remember a while ago, I saw a post on the internet that contained the phrase "Sometimes you have to be a little mentally unwell to be mentally well." And I'm currently in a situation that I feel applies that phrase very well.
I had a bad breakup with a friend group not that long ago and it's sort of left me feeling lost and unsure of what to do. Today, I was just really in my feelings. I wanted to get out of the house but couldn't bring myself to. Outside of the short walks I take my dog on, I was effectively stuck in the house.
So boredom takes the better of me, and I download Pikmin Bloom. The Pikmin series is one I've been meaning to get into for a while now and someone on Reddit suggested to me that I play Bloom after I asked what Pikmin game I should play.
And guys- I really didn't think much of it when I downloaded PB. I played Pokemon Go when it was at its height, I had fun, but it definitely wasn't one of my favorite games.
Pikmin Bloom has become one of my favorite games.
This stupid, magical little game, where you can PLANT FLOWERS AS YOU WALK, and make friends with these weird little guys that go *Pikmin noise* is just- idk what it is. I genuinely smiled for the first time in what felt like days, because these bug eyed little things make me feel things.
I wanna walk more around my neighborhood now! Because instead of the stupid gyms in Pokemon Go, landmarks are FLOWERS THAT YOU CAN HELP GROW WTF THAT IS SO CUTE.
Pikmin Bloom helped me rediscover a whimsy within myself and the world that I thought I lost and I am both ecstatic and so annoyed about it. Now shut up cause now I wanna play the other games in the Pikmin series.
P.S. THE MUSIC IN PIKMIN BLOOM IS SO GOOD WTF. THEY DIDN'T NEED TO MAKE THE MUSIC FOR A STUPID MOBILE GAME SO GOOD.

I swear the discourse on Cripplepunk could used a healthy dose of
"unlearning internalized ablism"
You know, a phrase that's in the actual manifesto on it??
The ablism I keep seeing is the "you must be this disabled to use this our that" flavor
I'm seeing people make awful bad faith assumptions on the physical ability of NDs
Yes. Cripple punk is for the physically disabled. Yes. Yes. This is true. And guess what? Medical science is finding out how you are way way waaaay more likely to have physically disabling comorbidities if you have Autism and ADHD.
So stop shitting on people who are ND and making assumptions that because someone is ND they are not physically disabled. This is an awful stigma that actually affects people irl
I have literally had to fight to have an employer understand that it is possible to be both mentally and physically disabled. I shouldn't have to be educating my own community on this.
"but access is more important than accommodations!" Yes! True! And just because you can "walk" doesn't mean you will have that physical access. And those "accommodations" also have an effect on physical ability. If the volume is over a certain level, I don't have access to that space.
It isn't just "oof ouchie it's too loud in here" It will actually physically hurt me, and give me neuropathy that will last days. Just because I can walk with my cane doesn't mean I'm not stuck standing outside the venue with the wheelchair user because both of our needs weren't met. The curb for the wheelchair user is the loud music for the autistic person. I understand that more pressing disability needs to be accommodated first, but there are needs that while different, are equally pressing.
And if you guys are so so so stuck on how autism isn't "physical"
Autism can come with dyspraxia, that means I might fall down stairs that don't have a railing, that means I might need the ramp some days too. I NEED you guys to understand that there are people with ASD who trip over their own feet because of dyspraxia and then dislocate their ankles because they are more likely to be hyper mobile. Dyspraxia also prevents you from driving in a lot of situations.
We cannot see each other through the internet so we need to STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS ON SOMEONE'S PHYSICAL ABILITY. That's actually part of cripple punk! You know, the concept that someone with physical ability has to be a certain way to have their needs considered?
The hypocrisy is ridiculous.

Hey. Hope you are doing alright since it has been a while.
I'm doing fine. It's just that my internet got taken away by Spectrum on Halloween, so I haven't been able to make any new posts on my blogs. So now we need to find a different service provider like Verizon FiOS or something. Until then, I'm stuck on mobile and can't make any meaningful posts. I apologize for remaining silent about this, but I was so embarrassed at the time. I had just gotten internet again (that my computer could actually detect) and it was taken away after only a week of having it. So yeah. I'm doing fine, but I definitely won't be able to do the usual posts I'm known for until I get a new provider.
I apologize for any and all inconveniences that come from this.

[copied from my reblog of this post about lack of forward compatibiilty in technology so I can reblog amendments to my story without cluttering OP's notes, and backdated now that you can do that here]
I’m reblogging this from someone who reblogged it from me because since I reblogged this I’ve experienced it
Friday I sat with my mother at her place to wait for the arrival of the phone repairman from the phone/cabletv/internet company sometime between 08:00 and 17:00. Mom’s phone’d been out for a week, and she was also having trouble logging into her email. Mom is 90 and not very mobile and doesn’t have a cellphone so, aside from me, these things are her only means of putting out contact to the world. For a week I’ve been going over to Mom’s twice a day because we are regularly checking in with each other daily anyway but now all our means to do so telecommically were out.
At 15:00 the phone repairman phoned me (I’d left my cell as the contact number) to inform me the problem (which he mentioned is being experienced by multiple customers) is, somehow, not with the company’s phone lines but with the company’s cable lines. Therefore it would require a cable tech to fix it and he would pass this information on to the cable department. (The cable tech(s), it develops, will be out tomorrow, Monday. Sometime between 08:00 and 17:00.)
SO I decided to sit down with Mom’s email and try to change the password so she could reach me that way again. The problem was, it developed, the account had no established means on record for a temporary code to be sent out (well, it had Mom’s phone number, BUT). With a trip to the brick-and-mortar store (Did I mention Mom’s internet is with a different provider than her phone? Mom’s internet is with a different provider than her phone) I got my cell phone number added to the account because I was already listed as an authorized user.
BUT THEN, for reasons that aren’t clear to me, before I could change the password I needed to Verify Identity To The Account. By sending a copy of state-issued photo ID by cellphone camera, then a selfie.
(The counter CSR saw my ID while I was there, and Mom’s, yet directed me back to this process. Why couldn’t they have done the identity verification right there? I wish I’d understood the process’ purpose well enough while at the store to ask that.)
At home I went through the ID verification process six or eight or ten times in two hours. And each attempt took multiple tries to get satisfactory photos of the state photo ID.
The first wholly successful attempt, with Mom’s ID and selfie, was nevertheless rejected because her ID is expired.
Aha, thought I, I can do it with my ID and selfie, because I’m also an Authorized User. <belushi>But nooooo</belushi>
Every attempt at the verification process with my ID required multiple tries because of difficulty of the system recognizing the photo on my ID as a face.
Meanwhile every attempt to photograph the ID, front and back, required the ID be ideally framed and centered in the viewfinder, with no shadow or reflection on it; and held steady, at a distance greater from the surface where the ID rested than my hand could brace it, in order to get the whole ID in the frame.
But I did get through the process! Twice! And each time I reached a screen that informed me that the verification was successful and I could go on to the next step! - but did not say what the next step was, nor present me with a button to proceed to it.
In retrospect, what it probably meant was to go back to Mom’s laptop and resume trying to change her email password. I didn’t realize this Friday. I realize this because today (Sunday) when I stopped by to check in, Mom was in the process of trying to update the password herself. She was stuck on the … oh I can’t think of what they’re called, where you have to pick the squares that have a bus (that also took multiple tries, and I mean about a dozen after I took it over - I think her laptop screen colors are off; it’s old). I got her through that, and we successfully entered the new password, twice for security.
Then we were presented with a screen for creating two-step verifiction.
With no option to skip it.
Using her phone.

Should You Watch Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury?
Tumblr media
(Japanese title: Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo)
A Brief Summary
Humanity made it to space and set up colonies, leaving earth a bit worse off and struggling for resources.  The colonies are run by companies (3 large ones making up most of the power) all under the umbrella of one man.  One man with a daughter -Miorine Rembran - that is tired of being used as a political tool and wants to run away to earth.
Instead she’s stuck at a school where students learn to pilot and service mobile suits.  At the school, Miorine is used as a prize where the top duelist is assigned as her fiancé - which would lead to a lot of political power after a marriage goes through.  Everything gets turned upside down when a pilot from Mercury - Suletta Mercury - takes the crown at the academy.  Suletta’s “mobile suit” looks a little different from everyone else’s.  It looks a lot like a forbidden Gundam.  This leads to a lot of corporate warfare that affects all of the colonies and Earth.
So, should you watch the anime?
Yes, especially if you enjoy mecha anime or Gundam in general.
Seeing 2D mecha in anime is always a nice treat.  3D can be fun, but I’m an older fan, and I will always appreciate 2D work more.  The mobile suit and Gundam designs in Witch from Mercury are interesting, but none of them really struck my fancy.  I blame this on Gundam Wing being my gateway Gundam - those designs were fire.  I can only really remember what Suletta’s Gundam looks like when trying to picture the different designs in Witch from Mercury, but your mileage may vary on that depending on what kind of mobile suit designs you enjoy.
The plot-line/story likes to hint at bigger picture issues, with the adults playing at power grabs on a corporate level while the students play for power via the duel system at the school.  This would be fine, but then, through the power of plot, the students at the school become a corporation that greatly affects the adult world.  The fact they let kids handle such power is both admirable (let the kids learn how to work in the real world), but also dumb as hell (let the kids wreck the economy just because).  I might have been happier if the kids stuck to the duels only, or if the duels were used more often in the corporate struggles.  But it still kind of worked and was more coherent than some previous Gundam plots.
The Gundam franchise is going through a weird period where they are releasing very classic Gundam shows for the older hardcore fans (Unicorn/Hathaway), toyetic shows for the kids to buy merch (Build Divers), and some more experimental shows to try and get a new generation of audience into Gundam (IBO, and now Witch from Mercury).
It’s interesting that the newest shows in that final category both play with non-typical Gundam relationship dynamics.  IBO had a focus on mostly male characters and even featured some (marginally) healthy polyamory.  Witch from Mercury went the Utena route and decided on duels and a main female couple (even if the company won’t actually admit the canonicity of said couple).  Good on Gundam for trying to widen their horizons for audience appeal.
Unfortunately for me, I didn’t like either of the main female characters.  I will freely admit it’s my own personal taste, as others really enjoyed them (or so the internet would lead me to believe).  But Suletta was a little too dumb, and Miorine was a little too tsundere for me to actually gel with them and care about their character arcs.  The one exception to this is the final episode of the first arc (episode 12) - which I will not spoil - but sadly nothing cool came out of Suletta’s slight change of character after that moment.
On the plus side, there are other characters in the show - including:
A classic self-absorbed asshole who thinks he’s the best at first, but after a lot of hardship ends up becoming a changed and better man —and who also happens to be my favorite character in the entire show (Guel Jeterk).
A plot-spoiler-if-I-say-too-much student who sometimes acts cold and cruel, other times acts like a suave playboy, and all the times seems to get attached to the wrong women (Elan Ceres).
The “it’s Gundam so we need a character in a mask” mother of Suletta that is a little too smug and always seems to have the right answer…to help herself (Prospera Mercury).
A downtrodden Earther who is a genius mechanic, but somewhat of a doormat who has trouble standing up for herself (Nika Nanaura).
A young Earther with a few screws loose who goes from wanting to be Suletta’s cute little sister to wanting to kill people at the drop of a hat (Sophie Pulone).
A mercenary lady who has her fingers in a lot of information pies but seems willing to help Miorine out when she needs it (Jun Feng).
A childhood friend of Miorine who puts out a princely air and always seems to have a plan, which leads him to being generally calm and collected even when things don’t go his way (Shaddiq Zenelli).
Plus a whole heap more supporting characters that are tied to one house/faction or another.  So even if you’re like me and don’t enjoy the main characters, there will be someone to like in Gundam: Witch from Mercury.
Where does it rate on my personal scale?
S: I will buy it at full price (unless it’s released by Aniplex USA, because fuck their pricing).
A: I will buy it on sale sometime down the line.
->B: I had fun watching it, but don’t need to own it.
C: It’s not my cup of tea, but wasn’t awful.
D: Dropped it.
X: Finished it out of spite, but did not enjoy it.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury ends up at a solid B.  It wasn’t a show I eagerly looked forward to each week, but episodes did not fail to entertain me for 24 minutes at a time.  I hear gunpla sales of the Mercury crew have been selling like hotcakes, so it looks like Gundam is hopefully back on track for a new generation of fans to keep watching and buying.  I’ll keep sticking around too, though I don’t really feel the need to add G-Witch to my physical collection.

Free series website, more convenience than free
A confidant for those who watch until morning
Oh, the world is really moving fast these days Especially entertainment, a few years ago we had to wait for the TV to start airing episodes every week, waiting until we almost forgot the plot Nowadays, just go to the เว็บดูซีรี่ย์ฟรี and you can watch right away No need to beg for the remote, just click on the series469 website, no need to worry about missing out It's late, it's early, you can watch while stuck in traffic or watch while eating It feels like having a personal cinema that is ready to show the series we want to watch at any time When thinking about this convenience, we can't help but smile Like Hey, life is really easier No need to pay a monthly fee like big platforms Just have internet and a mobile phone, life is ready to rush into the series world It's like opening the door to a parallel universe, with Korean, Japanese, Western, Thai, Chinese to choose from, no need to worry about running out of budget, no need to wait for codes or discount promotions because it's free and open for us to watch without thinking too much Plus, some websites are very well organized, with categories to choose from, so detailed that sometimes it feels like walking into a series library There are romance, drama, detective, comedy, all emotions Whether you want to be extremely sad, laugh until you cry, or fall in love until you sleep, it's all here This doesn't even include non-mainstream series or rare old series that some platforms never have, but appear on these websites like a secret treasure trove Another thing I like is that when watching on these websites, it feels like you're in a community of series lovers Some websites even have a comment section under the clip You can watch and comment at the same time Reading other people's comments is funny Some people have jokes teasing the main characters Some people analyze the story more seriously than critics It adds flavor to the fun of watching It's like we're not watching alone, but watching with hundreds or thousands of other people who love the same story And for some reason, watching on these free websites gives me a little nostalgic feeling It's like when I was a student and had to secretly watch series late at night, turning on the speakers so low, afraid that my parents wouldn't know I hadn't gone to bed yet There's a sweet and bittersweet excitement that big platforms can't give because everything is too perfect But with these websites, there's a charming brutality, a homely, friendly feel, to the point that sometimes it feels like watching with close friends Another thing that needs to be mentioned is The fact that free series websites give many people the opportunity to experience good works without financial obstacles is something that changes the perspective on accessing entertainment media Some people who do not have a monthly subscription budget or live in areas where streaming services do not yet have the right to watch good series It is an equal opportunity and easy access without having to rely on any system All of this makes us feel that free series websites do not only have “free” as their highlight, but also have feelings, attachment, easy accessibility, and sincerity in them It is like if anyone has tried using it, it would be difficult to go back to watching the same old thing again Because this is not just an ordinary website, but it is like a friend who knows our hearts in every episode, every genre, and is ready to be with us from morning until night without complaining at all
