I was away for tumblr for several years, but came back recently, mainly for all the #iwtv shitposting, which has been marvelous.

But something’s happened in the last week or so, and now my feed is being served all this vile pro-Tr*mp, maggoty bullshit. I’m trying to block and disappear as much as I can, but it only seems to be increasing.

I hate GOT so much. The sooner this site stops suggesting it to me the better. I tried watching it but it was WAAAAYYY too triggering and upsetting. Like I’m a horror fan but most of the time horror isn’t fetishizing my trauma for mainstream audiences.

Ok, but can someone explain why the fuck would Tumblr algorithm decide to make it so that I have 105 notes on a random post of a silly thing I had noticed in ROTTMNT, but only one note on a drawing that took me almost 10 hours to make? (⁠｡⁠•́⁠︿⁠•̀⁠｡⁠)

I'm not complaining that people liked that post about Ice Cream Kitty, but it just isn't fair that it has more than twice the amount of notes of all my art combined! ರ⁠_⁠ರ

This is just a little of me being honest cuz.. it sucks to post a drawing that I thought was really cool and wanted to share it with people and then receive very little feedback. 乁⁠(⁠ ⁠.⁠ ⁠ര⁠ ⁠ʖ̯⁠ ⁠ര⁠ ⁠.⁠ ⁠)⁠ㄏ

But at the end of the day, the algorithm is just shitty and there's nothing we can do about it except for accepting it :/

I don't know if this is a new feature, but every time I open Tumblr mobile it takes me to the algorithmic "for you" tab instead of my dashboard (which is the first tab!)

I usually notice within a couple posts what's happened because I don't recognize the icons as being someone I follow. I guess we know why they wanted to get rid of icons 😑

My timeline dashboard is objectively better than the junk on my "for you" page anyway, so human curators win regardless.

I'm completely giving up on posting on Instagram, I've been posting SO often and it doesn't change anything. I'm fully switching to Tumblr, screw it.

Honestly Tumblr is the only good platform. I took a break for a year and a half on Instagram and FB and when I went back I also got TikTok. It feels so dead on the others. Like there are posts galore and everything’s so fast and seems so busy, but the engagement is lacking. And to get engagement you have to follow all these trends and rules essentially to please the algorithm. It feels so dirty. If one person reblogs something I posted here though I feel so seen. I don’t want to have to beg for interaction. I think I might just give them up altogether. Also you can say literally whatever you want on here, post whatever you want (generally) and not suffer any consequences for just being yourself. I said the word tortured on TikTok while reading a story for children (like out of a book) and I got shadowbanned for several days.

no, algorithm, I’m not racist because I’m blocking accounts that post black woman. I’m blocking every single account is see that posts real living breathing woman because I’m sick and tired of interacting with them and having sexualised and fetish content promoted. OK SO this was originally the last hornetober (from @silksongeveryday) piece, vessel, which I made abt this au where hornets a bit less sane (and maybe just a bit weaker to infection) and becomes a willing vessel of the radiance, amplifying Her power and making problems. Basically the bad ending.

However. my ego boost from a successful inktober made me underestimate painting both of these guys and didn't touch the painting for 6 months. But. I remembered it existed last week and decided to cut hornet and her complicated radiance fluff that I had no clue how to render and make it just the hollow knight lol. And now it's here yippee.
