So theres this like gruff 30 year old line cook guy at my work who i never talk to bc I'm on register but every few weeks I'll find out he has the exact same taste in tv/movies as i do which is wild??? Like a few weeks ago he was excitedly telling everyone he could about Nimona and how he found it randomly and loved it and wants a sequel and then today he came up to me all nervous and was like "hey i overheard you say you like vampires, idk if you've even heard of it but have you seen what we do in the shadows?" And reader I about lost my mind

the narrative was so immensely kind to Rose Tyler. She alone, out of all the Doctor's companions, gets everything she wanted and more. She had to suffer for a few years to get her happy ending, but you know what? She has her mom. She gets her dad back. She gets a version of the Doctor who can live out his life beside her and give her the life her Doctor can't. She gets to live long enough to have a child. She gets a happy, reunited family that celebrates Christmases and birthdays and a job well done together. She gets a great job working with aliens and travelling the universe with her husband, his hand in hers, just like she always wanted. Sure she doesn't get to have that life in her own universe, but the sacrifice of living in Pete's World is so ridiculously small when you think about everything she gained in the end. The Doctor and Rose Tyler, travelling in the TARDIS, forever. And she alone was granted that wish. Not bad for a nineteen-year-old shopgirl who was living on a council estate with her mom.
