just listened to the lost boys novelization and some of my highlights include: sam biting michael being the reason theyre running around the house, sam quoting bruce when they get to the boardwalk because hes overdressed ("i wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face"), high michael staring at dwayne skateboarding and wondering when marko would come with the food (real), david making a move on michael to be inturrupted by marko with the food, sam tearing off a leaf of grandpas marijuana and trying to smoke it, star saying the boys are her family multiple times, star biting michaels neck when theyre making out multiple times, david catching michael after he falls off the bridge, paul trying to cheer up star, and michael saying david looks like the lord of the vampires when he first sees him in the final battle

Pema hc?

Pema grew up poor.

She was in the outer ring in the Earth Kingdom.

She was the eldest daughter of many children and she was the "Cinderella Daughter."

When she left home, it tore her family apart. Her parents hated her for a very, very long time for "leaving them alone" with so many of her siblings.

Her mother never came around to accept her decision. She still sends Pema mentally abusive and manipulative letters. If Tenzin finds the letters first, he burns them.

Her father came around eventually, and they have extremely awkward tea dates twice a year.

None of her family has ever visited her or her children on Air Temple Island.

Some of her siblings tell people that she's dead because they're still so angry with her.

The other siblings who understand why she left abject poverty to be a part of something greater than herself still talk to her, and she even visits them in the EK sometimes.

She tried to bring Tenzin around her parents once after they had Jinora. Her dad broke a bottle on Tenzin's face after a heated argument.

She didn't always want a big family. For a long time she was convinced that if she had children, she would perpetuate the abuse she suffered as a child, but once she became an Air Acolyte and was surrounded by parents and children who loved each other, she quickly realized that she didn't want to be afraid of her past anymore. She started taking education jobs teaching the young kids about Air Nomad history and fell in love with them. From that moment on, she wanted a family of her own. And she wanted to do it right.
