𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒 - ( 𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐣𝐚𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐫 ! )
synopsis -> in which you hate valentines day, yet eren makes it better !
warnings -> not proof read, modern!au, college!au !
Tumblr media
“You know what?” You ask your friends, popping another candy heart into your mouth, lying back on your bed. “What?” Mikasa and Sasha ask in unison, sitting next to you. “I fucking hate Valentine’s Day.” You scoff, crunching the candy in your mouth. “What? It’s the best holiday!” Sasha gasps, Mikasa shaking her head. “Nah, I agree with (Y/N). It’s the worst holiday.” She says. “See?! Mika gets it.” You sigh, sitting up and resting your head on Mikasa’s shoulder. “What does Mikasa get?” Connie yells, bursting into your dorm, Eren and Jean behind him. “Oh my god, you’re so extra.” You roll your eyes, grabbing the small box of candy and throwing one of small hearts at him as he enters your room. “Mm, thanks.” He smiles, catching the heart and eating it. Sasha shakes her head, the boys squeezing onto the small couch at the end of your bed. “Well, what does Mikasa get?” Connie rolls his eyes, tossing his head back so he can look at you and your friends. “That Valentine’s Day sucks.” You grumble. “True.” Jean calls out, snatching a bag of candy out of Sasha’s hands. “You and Jean are so bitter! You guys should date at this point.” Connie laughs, hitting Jean’s shoulder. “Ew.” You pretend to gag, Jean sarcastically clutching his chest, “I’m greatly offended.” He says. Eren stays silent, simply glaring at Jean. “What about you, Eren? What’s your opinion on the best holiday?” Sasha questions, breaking him out of his trance. “It’s cheesy.” He shrugs, “You’re a good man.” You joke, Eren shaking his head. “Ugh, I need new friends, you’re all sad.” Sasha groans, you and Mikasa glaring at her. “Well, it’s alright now, I have a Valentine.” You say, Eren immediately turning around. “Connie!” You sing, getting off the bed and sitting on his lap. “Oh, I accept.” He kisses your cheek. “Oh, you’re for real ditching me? I see.” Mikasa pretends to wipe her fake tears, Sasha patting her shoulder. “And me.” Jean raises his hand. “Mine now.” Connie says. “She doesn’t want any of you.” Eren laughs, the group collectively gasping. “Damn.” You breathe out. “Alright, we should probably get going.” Mikasa gets up.
“That party was awful.” You groan, getting out of Eren’s car. “Real.” He sighs, locking the car and moving towards you. “Never again! I refuse to go to anymore corny Valentine’s Day celebrations.” You walk next to him, entering the store. “Everyone else had a good time, though.” He shrugs, trying to find a positive side of the night. “I guess.” You smile, walking down the aisle of candy. “God, it’s all hearts and pink.” You look at all the Valentines themed candy on the shelves, Eren letting out a laugh. “Here, get these.” He shuffles closer to one of the shelves, picking up a bag of bright pink marshmallow hearts, as well as a box of conversation hearts. You take the packages, “Hearts for your…” You pause, reading the box of the candy hearts, “Sweetheart.” You continue. “It’s cute!” He laughs, snatching them from you and tossing them into the shopping basket. “Oh, all of a sudden you love cheesy heart things?” You raise an eyebrow, following him as he walks up another aisle. “Yes, actually.” He grabs a tiny stuffed bear, piling it onto the stack on snacks. “Eren, do you have a secret girlfriend?” You gasp. “Nah.” He dismisses you, shaking his head. “Sure.” You nod, not believing him. “Okay, let’s get out of here.” You add.
Getting into his car, you put on your seatbelt, ready to go home. “Wait.” He says. You raise an eyebrow, turning your head to face him. He reaches into the backseat, grabbing the plastic bag from the store. “Happy Valentine’s Day.” He grins, handing it over to you. Your eyes widen and you open the bag, pulling out the bear and candies from earlier. “Are you making fun of me?” You pretend to be annoyed, glaring at him. “Nope. Happy Valentine’s Day. I know you hate it, but, you know.” He laughs. “Well, thank you.” You grin. He leans closer to you, and you do the same, placing the bag next to you. “I mean it. Happy Valentine’s Day.” He whispers, “I know, and I mean it, thank you, Eren.” You mumble. “Yeah.” He breathes out, pulling you in for a kiss.

hi i have a req for your vday celebration for this line 'have you no compassion for my poor nerves? ’ for theseus scamander!! going on a trip with newt looking for some new mythical creature to draw and you somehow get injured and theseus gets worried so like angst + fluff pls
IN SEARCH OF A GRECIAN BEAST
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Theseus Scamander x Reader WORD COUNT: 1.1k SUMMARY: As you, Theseus, and Newt find yourselves on a secluded Grecian beach along the Aegean Sea, an endeavor unfolds to seek out a Hippocampus. However, plans don't turn out as expected. A/N: An angsty yet light-hearted fic in a way. Hope you guys love this lil Theseus one-shot~ WARNINGS: near drowning. angst. Newt literally has no compassion when he’s excited about his beasts lol. PROMPT: “Have you no compassion for my poor nerves?” [from this prompt list] MASTERLIST
“Pray, Theseus, allow yourself a respite! Quit moaning and come with us,” you whine with an exaggerated, sarcastic tone as you trudge down the rocky slope that leads to a stretch of golden sand. Newt is way ahead, feet already on the sand as he scuttles across the rugged coastline that looks upon the Aegean Sea.
Theseus huffs at your words, watching the way your linen top billows in the sea breeze, gleaming under the scorching summer sun. He decides he has no other choice than to follow begrudgingly. He stumbles on his feet, shells crunching at contact, and sees you looking back at him, eyes bright. The curve of your smile goes unnoticeable.
“I thought we were meant to be on holiday,” he calls out to you and his brother.
You merely laugh, and Newt responds without turning back, “Nobody mentioned a holiday, Theseus.”
Theseus scoffs, “Well, I presumed it was, considering you invited me to Greece. Of all places!”
Without warning, you abruptly halt, swiftly turning to face him.
“We find ourselves on this beautiful, secluded Grecian beach, and you're complaining?” You gesture to your surroundings in big movements, arms moving in sweeping motions.
You’re right, he’s being dramatic. Perhaps he finds himself a little sceptical towards your shenanigans with Newt. How you were always closer to his brother than him, even though he never dared admit it to himself that he wished it was the other way around.
Theseus is silent when you fix him with a stern gaze, nearing him. “All I’m saying is, you should loosen up a little.”
There it is. That glint in your stare. It’s hopeful.
Theseus realised long ago that he would do anything for you and be anything you wanted him to be.
“I am loose. I can be loose.”
Your laugh comes off more like a scoff. You don’t believe him one bit. “Right.”
Then, your fist connects with his arm. It’s playful, just like old times. Theseus winces, his palm instinctively rubbing his bicep as he shoots you a maddened look. Despite the irritation etched on his face, the subtle curve on his lips betrays it.
You laugh again. It’s light and sends his heart thrumming faster than ever.
“Come on –”
"Look!" newt exclaims, his voice ringing out excitedly. “Over there.” He points toward the shore with the widest grin Theseus has ever seen.
You immediately grip Theseus’ wrist, pulling him along as you dash towards Newt.
“Hippocamps,” you breathe out, merely a whisper, eyes trained on the clear waters beyond.
Theseus turns to you and clocks on your wide-eyed gaze. Your mouth hangs slightly agape in utter awe as you take in the scene unravelling before you. Glints of deep blue swirl under the crystal waters, their scales glistening like scattered glitter under the Grecian sun.
Then, you release your hold on his hand.
“I’m going in.”
The brothers snap their heads to you, “What?”
You turn to Theseus, “I know these creatures better than anyone. You know that.” Then, your gaze shifts to Newt, “Even more than you, Newt.”
A beat. He sees that you’re now looking at him expectantly as if you need his assurance. That he trusts you. He really doesn’t know why you need it.
“Just… be careful.”
You purse your lips and nod. “I will.”
The waves lap rhythmically as you approach the waters cautiously, gentling wading through and towards the Hippocampi. The water rises to your waist. You catch a hint of a tail under the sunlight, iridescent and reflecting the ocean's blue and green hues.
You take a deep breath – the key is to be calm. Extremely calm. You extend your palm, luminous kelp in your grasp, hoping to lure the creature.
Then, its head emerges from the waters, a horse for a head. The creature curiously eyes the kelp in your hand as you watch in controlled excitement as the others drift closer. You cannot help but smile.
Yet, something beneath you rumbles. It’s so slight that you almost miss it. But it sends a rippling uneasiness to your surroundings that it alarms the creatures. The air shifts, and before you know it, the Hippocampi sense an unseen threat and quickly disappear into the ocean.
Your smile drops.
You see it, a sleek form of green drifting in the depths beneath you. It glides through the water with stealth.
Ashore, Theseus senses your concern. “Something’s wrong.”
Then, he sees you turn to them with panicked eyes.
Abruptly, the water erupts with a powerful surge, and a beast rises from the depths and leaps into the air. Its mane of waterweed cascades with its movement.
It’s a Kelpie.
Newt and Theseus watch in stunned silence.
As the Kelpie vanishes beneath the waves, you’re gone.
Theseus’ heart drops.
Instinctively, Theseus calls your name, charging towards the place you stood moments before. In his sprint, he throws a quick, urgent glance over his shoulder at Newt, who scrambles closely behind, his expression etched with mirrored exasperation.
“Why in Godric’s name is a Kelpie doing here?!”
“That’s a good question –”
Theseus isn’t listening anymore. He can’t think right now, his heart pounding fiercely. Each step intensifies the knot in his stomach.
He finds himself slicing through the waves and propelled beneath the surface. His vision goes blur momentarily; elusive silhouettes move around him like drifting shadows. But as his eyes begin to take focus, he sees Newt, a feet away, seemingly going after the Kelpie.
Theseus whirls around, eyes scanning his surroundings.
He sees you, conscious. You’re looking at him with wide eyes, struggling to stay afloat.
Theseus closes in, and he reaches out, arms enveloping you. With a forceful pull, you are brought to the surface, head heavy against his chest. Your sharp gasp pierces the air, it resonates loudly, but it settles a sense of relief in Theseus.
As you’re pulled to shore, you’re induced into a coughing fit, water forcefully expelling from your lips. Theseus hovers above you, his hand on the back of your head, lifting it from the ground in an attempt to ease your choking. His other palm rests against your cheek firmly.
He says your name, his voice laced with reassurance, yet his gaze lingers with a perpetual panic as he hovers above you, the sunlight casting a halo through his tousled hair. Theseus looks truly distressed.
“Have you no compassion for my poor nerves?!” he exclaims, exasperated in all his dramatic and uptight glory.
“Just… trying to keep you on your… toes, that’s all,” you manage to croak out.
Theseus's laugh passes off as an exhale and grins, shaking his head. Quickly, he presses a kiss to your forehead.
You instantly feel your cheeks start to burn.
“Don’t ever do that again.”
You just smile. “No promises.”
Then, laughter echoes in the distance. Both of you turn to find Newt emerging from the shore, eyes bright.
"That was incredible!"

𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: bsd, csm, headcanons fluff n smut♡
𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: since Vday will be here soon I wanted to do a little something♡ hope you like it babes
ღೀ๋࣭ ⭑ ღೀ๋࣭ ⭑ ღೀ๋࣭ ⭑
𝐃𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐢
sneaky bastard. he pretends to forget about Valentine's day just to see your cute pout– "aww bella didn't know you cared so much about this silly little day. fine, fine, you got me. I did get you a gift"
totally gets you a very thoughtful gift and writes you a letter. he's really not good at expressing his feelings through words, so letters have to do
he wakes up early so he can pick fresh flowers for you from the park. I really think Dazai isn't the type to buy you tacky bouquets. and of course he makes you breakfast in bed– "rise and shine, beautiful. I made you your favourite." he'd purr, placing a plate of hot blueberry pancakes in front of you "dig in, we have plans today"
definitely skips work so he can spend time with you, but he eventually has to go to the Ada office after Kunikida threatens to fire him. don't worry tho, he'll make up for the lost time when he comes back home in the evening
that night he's more gentle than usual, making sure that you enjoy yourself. after all the day is all about you and he's going to do his best to please you– "Ah fuck 'donna you're doing so well. you like it? s-sure hope you do angel 'm gonna make you cum f'me alright? atta girl..."
𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐮𝐲𝐚
he's such a gentleman omg
because of his job, he can't be there with you when you wake up, but you can be sure he's going to leave you a romantic note on the nightstand
he sends you flowers and expensive praline boxes at work just to make sure that your female colleagues envy you–"everyone needs to know how well i treat my pretty girl, right baby?"
in the evening he finally gets the chance to give you the rest of his gifts: lingerie, expensive perfumes and of course, his affections and undivided attention♡
a candle lit, bubble bath with a glass of wine is mandatory. you lay in his arms, your back flush against his chest while he plays with your hair, whispering the sweetest things in your ear "i love you, pretty girl. i'm glad that you're mine never forget that"
𝐀𝐤𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐰𝐚
sweet boy, he's so confused and overwhelmed
he doesn't really understand the whole point of Valentine's day but he wantes to make the day special for you
he plans it weeks ahead, asking Chuuya for advice. i see him talking to Gin about what gifts he could give you; she's his sister after all, she must know what a girl wants
Akutagawa buys you books for Valentine's day. a book-bouquet to be more specific and makes you dinner at home
please show him that you care and appreciate his efforts. he's super anxious about it– "You mean it was nice? you enjoyed yourself with me, right? oh thank god"
after dinner, he wouldn't mind getting down to some more intimate activities♡ if you want that ofc. once he's back in your arms with his face buried in the crook of your neck as he fucks you slowly, he finally manages to relax, all worries seeping out of him "My angel... I-I love you so much ah fuck- please never leave me" yea, he gets very emotional
𝐅𝐮𝐤𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐢
he straight up forgets about Valentine's day, it's just not a priority for him and no matter how many times you try to hint at it he doesn't get it
he's confused when he sees you pouting and doesn't really understand what's wrong? but once he gets to work Teruko tells him that it's Valentine's day he's so mad at himself.
ofc he tries to make up for it in the evening when he gets home from work
he brings you a bouquet of roses (one of the pre-made ones y'all know what i'm talking about💀) but it's the thought that counts and apologises for forgetting– "i'm sorry sweetheart, didn't mean to upset you, ya know? i had a lot on my plate lately and it just slipped my mind. c'mon baby don't be mad"
he doesn't drop it until you accept his apology. if you're up for it he takes you out to dinner at the most expensive place in town♡
𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐞
man... where do i even start
he doesn't get the point of it either, just sees the day as an opportunity to spend time with his beloved♡
despite his cold demeanour, Kishibe's a real thoughtful person. he doesn't buy you any overly expensive gifts but he picks flowers for you probably sneaks some from the cemetery too
if you wanna do something special he's totally down for it– "Hm? You wanna go have dinner at that new place in town? Sure, dear, I'll book us a table don't worry about it."
he's not very affectionate either but once you two are back home, in the comfort of your apartment, his tongue loosens a bit–"Ya know, princess, you're one of the best things that happened to me. thank you, really. why're you laughing, i'm serious. you know i don't joke about matters of the heart"
𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥
you probably have to explain the concept of Valentine's day to him
Angel's too lazy to plan anything for the two of you so you have to settle for ordering takeout and watching a movie
lets you cuddle him if you insist enough and make sure that every inch of your skin is covered so he doesn't accidentally drain your lifespan
hear me out now. stargazing with him >>
he's the happiest man on earth if you gift him a pack of ice cream cones or some flowers. he's definitely the type to press them just because they're a gift from you and he treasures every little thing you do for him, even if he doesn't always show it

“Joe! Can you come and zip up my dress?” you called to him from your en suite, where you were getting ready for your Valentine’s date night.
“Be right there, sweetheart,” he responded from your bedroom as he shrugged into his white button down, not bothering to do it up before giving you a hand. He stepped through the doorway that separated you, met with the sight of your back, bare except for the strips of delicate black lace that made up the straps and band of your bra, exposed between the unzipped panels of your dress. It was a classic little black number, with sheer sleeves that ended in cuffs at your wrists. The hem hit just above your knees, your collarbone and upper chest revealed by the v-neck cut.
“Baby, my god,” he said, eyes raking up and down your frame, gaze heated as he took in everything that was revealed to him and savoured the knowledge of everything that was hidden that he would get to touch, to kiss, to caress later that night.
You blushed, helplessly flustered. “Do it up, love, it’ll look better then,” you replied quietly.
“Hard to imagine you getting any prettier,” he said, but he did as you asked and zipped you up before his hands slid down your waist to rest on your hips, his lips dipping down to meet your neck. Your eyes drifted closed as you tilted your head to the side, sighing softly as he pressed kisses along the sensitive skin, working up to the spot behind your ear you especially loved to feel his lips on you.
He gently nipped your earlobe, murmuring, “So goddamn beautiful, babygirl.”
You squirmed around in his hold so you were facing him, eye level with his bare, beautifully sculpted chest. Your hands danced along the ridges of his abs, sliding around to rest on his lower back as you peered up at him. “You don’t look half bad yourself,” you said, pressing a lingering kiss to the bare skin of his chest.
He cupped your face in one warm palm, leaning down to kiss you, while the other hand pressed against your hip, guiding you to step backwards as he walked you towards the bathroom countertop. His lips remained locked with yours as his tongue slipped into your mouth, drawing one of those pretty whimpers from your mouth that he loved so much. When you bumped into the edge of the countertop, both of his hands slid down to cup your ass, easily lifting you onto the marble surface.
He stood between your legs, moving his lips to your neck, pressing wet, open mouthed kisses to the column of your throat. One of his hands massaged up your thigh, slipping under the hem of your dress, straying closer to the black lace of your panties, already soaked through. Your legs wrapped around him, holding him in place against you as your hands tangled in his soft blonde hair.
Detaching his lips from your neck with a wet pop, he pressed a tender kiss to the corner of your mouth as one of his knuckles ghosted over your clothed clit, the slightest touch, but it still made you arch your back into him, trying to regain the contact. “May I?” he asked, voice low and husky with need.
“Please, Joe,” you half mumbled, half whimpered, craving, wanting, needing his hands on you, in you.
Through the haze of desire clouding your mind, you recalled what you had originally been getting ready for in the bathroom. “Joe,” you whispered breathily. “Our dinner reservation.”
“Let a man enjoy his appetizer, pretty baby,” he mumbled against your skin. “Y’know I can make this quick when I need to.”
You giggled at his last comment, but you weren’t going to argue it. He was right.
He pushed the fabric of your panties to the side, before he slid two fingers down towards your entrance, feeling the wetness seeping from your core, already dripping for him. “Fuck,” he groaned, fingers teasingly circling your opening. “So fucking wet for me. Always ready for me, aren’t you, pretty girl?”
Your only response was a needy moan as you tried to grind your hips against his fingers, desperate for more. He couldn’t resist your whimpers, slipping one thick finger inside you, adding another after a moment. “Shit,” he grunted through gritted teeth. “Can’t wait to be inside you later, babygirl.”
“Joe,” you moaned as he pumped his fingers steadily in and out of your weeping cunt.
“Does it feel good, sweetheart?” he asked, pressing a kiss to the edge of your jaw. You only whimpered in response, prompting him to add, “Use your words, tell me how good I make you feel.”
“You make me feel so good, Joe, it’s so good,” you cried out as his fingers curled to brush the soft spot inside you that sent agonizing spasms of pleasure throughout your body.
“Good girl,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to the corner of your mouth. Maintaining the speed of his fingers inside you, he pressed his thumb against your clit, the added friction causing you to grind yourself against his hand.
“Don’t stop,” you whimpered, your eyes closing as you felt your orgasm building in your tummy.
Just as you felt a gasp of pleasure rising in your throat, Joe’s phone on the countertop beside you rang, grabbing your attention. “Joe,” you started, seeing it was a local number.
With his free hand, he guided your head back to face him, keeping his hand on your cheek to hold you in place. “Shh, baby, don’t worry about it, c’mon, you’re almost there,” he said soothingly, feeling your walls fluttering around his fingers, still pumping deep into your cunt. “C’mon baby, focus for me, you can do it,” he urged you, keeping his thumb rubbing small circles against your clit. His words drowned out the sound of the phone ringing, as all of your attention returned to him. Where he was on you, around you, in you. “Let go for me, pretty girl, show me how good you are. C’mon.”
You gasped as the first wave of your orgasm broke, brought on by his soft spoken words, as your head fell back against the mirror and you ground your hips down onto his hand to glean every last ounce of pleasure from your release. You shuddered, grabbing his bicep to steady yourself. “Fuck, Joe,” you groaned, out of breath.
“That’s my girl,” he said, satisfied, as he pulled his fingers from your cunt and grabbed his phone with his clean hand, hitting answer just before it went to voicemail.
“This is Joe speaking,” he said into the phone. While whoever was on the other side spoke, he stuck the two wet fingers that had just been inside you into his mouth, silently sucking them clean. Your legs were still entwined around him, keeping him between them. You leaned into him, cheek pressed to his chest and arms around his waist, as his free arm looped around to your back, hand softly rubbing up and down as you recovered from your orgasm.
You weren’t listening to the crackly voice on the other end of the line, but you noticed he had frowned at whatever was being said, and you subconsciously mimicked his expression in concern.
“Yeah, that’s okay. Alright. Sounds good. Bye,” he said, hanging up.
“What is it?” you asked, resting your chin on his chest to look up at him.
“Bad news, sweetheart,” he said. “That restaurant you wanted to go to fucked up their reservations and overbooked, so they cancelled us because we were the last to reserve a spot.”
Your face fell. “What!? We booked it months ago!” Although you and Joe usually preferred to stay in for date nights, for Valentine’s Day you always made an effort to actually go out, making up for all the anniversaries and birthdays spent at home in bed, drinking wine and making love. You had booked a spot at an upscale restaurant nearby your home weeks in advance, somewhere you’d never eaten before.
Joe interrupted your thoughts when he said, “I know, honey, but we can go another time. To make it up to us they’re covering our bill next time we’re there.”
“That’s nice,” you conceded, but he could still read the disappointment in your face as you tucked your cheek back against his chest.
“Hey, look at me,” he said softly, gently grabbing your chin and urging you to tilt your head back to meet his eyes. “We’re still going to have an amazing night, sweets. I promise.”
“But you were so excited to go to this place! You’ve been talking about it for months,” you said dejectedly.
“Baby, the restaurant isn’t what was going to make this a special night. I just want to spend time with you.” During the football season, it often felt like you barely saw each other. Joe was often out of town, and when he wasn’t, you were working long days. It seemed like the only time you had together was over breakfast and dinner and then five minutes cuddling in bed before you fell into a deep sleep, drained from work. “I’d rather do nothing with you than anything with someone else,” he said softly, leaning down to kiss your forehead.
You took a deep breath, letting some of the tension out of your shoulders. “Same,” you murmured in response.
“Would another orgasm cheer you up?” he asked cheekily, smirking. “Now the reservation’s cancelled we have no time restraints.”
You lightly hit his chest, laughing. “I need to eat something first. You’re insatiable, Burrow.”
“Hard not to be when my girl is so goddamn beautiful. I’ll never be able to get enough of you. Speaking of how pretty you look,” he murmured. “I’ve got one thing for you. C’mere.” He helped you off the counter, your legs still quivering, guiding you back into your bedroom and gesturing for you to take a seat on the king sized bed. He fumbled in the drawer of his bedside table, pulling out a teal Tiffany and Co. bag.
“Joe! You didn’t have to do that!” you exclaimed, accepting the bag when he offered it to you. “You’ve already done so much for me today, sweet boy.”
He settled himself beside you, wrapping an arm around your waist and pressing a kiss to your clothed shoulder as he murmured, “It’s nothing, sweetheart. Just a little something.” Everything was “just a little something” to him, from the massive bouquet of roses you’d found in the kitchen when you had gone downstairs that morning to the hot breakfast he’d made for you (and made of you).
You pulled a box out of the tissue paper in the bag, opening it to find a note sitting on top that read, “Because I really know you.”
“Stop,” you gasped, lifting up the paper to reveal a necklace adorned with a simple circular pendant bearing a cursive letter “J.” “Joe, that is so sweet.” You turned to wrap your arms around him, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “What did I do to deserve you?” you wondered aloud.
“You deserve the world, sweetheart. You always have,” he responded. “Here, let me put it on you.” He gingerly lifted the chain from the box as you swept your hair off your neck, allowing him to lay it across your collarbone and clasp it in the back, not without some difficulty. “Why do they make these things so goddamn small?”
You laughed. “C’mon, Joe, you’ve done this before.”
“Yeah, but this one seems even smaller than they normally are,” he muttered, focused on uniting the clasp and chain, which he eventually succeeded in doing. “Go look in the mirror, sweets, tell me what you think.”
You stood, re-entering the bathroom to admire the chain around your neck, the J pendant resting against your upper chest, identifying you as his.
“It’s beautiful, Joe, thank you.”
“I’m glad you like it. It suits you. Now, dinner,” he started, as he began buttoning his shirt up. “Where will it be? We haven’t got much in the house.”
“What about that grab and go sushi place? We haven’t been there in a bit and god I feel like I could eat fifty pieces of tempura right now. And we just have to pick it up so we won’t have to worry about that fact that everywhere is full tonight.”
“Sounds good to me.”
“I cannot wait to wow the world in this dress for three entire minutes while we pick it up,” you said sarcastically.
“You’ll be wowing me for a lot longer than three minutes, sweet cheeks,” he said, giving your bum a pinch as he walked by to pull his suit jacket off of a hanger. It matched his dress pants, a gorgeous crimson satin.
“I should think so,” you shot back, giving him a look.
After you applied one last swipe of lip gloss and Joe was satisfied with how his hair was falling, you both put on your shoes before descending the stairs to the front door of your home. Joe held your hand, rather tightly, as you walked down the stairs, prompting you to give him a quizzical look. He was a gentleman, absolutely, but he knew you could walk down the stairs in your own house just fine. “Not letting go of you until you’re back on solid ground,” he said, eyeing your heels with a look of distrust.
You laughed, still smiling at his antics when he opened the passenger side door of his car for you, brushing a kiss to your knuckles with a joking, “M’lady.”
“Why thank you, Joe,” you replied, laughing.
He hopped into the driver’s side, starting up the car. He turned up the heat, as he always did when you were riding with him. He was prone to overheating, but you tended to be chilly, something he was always mindful of. He rested his warm palm on your thigh, bare where your dress had ridden up, absentmindedly stroking his thumb across your skin while singing along under his breath to the chorus of the song on the radio.
The night sky was clear, and a bright moon cast a soft glow on the road. It had rained earlier, leaving the pavement shining, reflecting the light.
After a short drive, Joe pulled into the parking lot of a strip mall. Most of the shops were closed, their windows dark, but the sushi place was still open. Through the windows, you could see couples eating in the dimly lit dining area. Joe hopped out of the driver’s side to open your door for you, shrugging out of his suit jacket and draping it over your shoulders when you shivered as the cold February night air blew over you.
While waiting in line to pay for the sushi you had chosen from the grab and go refrigerator, you admired a piece of artwork on the wall, eyeing the price tag, unaware that Joe was busy admiring you. He loved seeing you out in public in that gorgeous dress with his initial resting around your neck, his blazer draped over your shoulders, knowing he was the only one who would ever get to take you out and take you home.
He slid an arm around your waist, bending down to whisper, “This dress looks phenomenal on you, sweetheart, but I can’t wait to take it off.”
“Joe!” you exclaimed under your breath, your cheeks warming with a blush. “What if someone heard!”
“No one heard, lovely, don’t worry,” he soothed you. Joe paid for your sushi, tipping the servers generously. With your trays of sushi packed away in a brown paper bag that rested on your lap in the passenger seat, you began the brief drive home.
“Do we have any wine in the fridge?” you asked, breaking the comfortable silence.
“Of course we do, sweetheart. One bottle of white and a bottle of bubbly, whatever you prefer.”
“Perfect.”
Once back at home, Joe directed you to sit on the couch in the living room, but you insisted on changing out of your dress first. “This wasn’t made for cuddling on the couch,” you said as you dashed upstairs with him right on your heels.
“Neither was this suit.”
You dressed in clothes more suitable for the cozy occasion, you in one of his large tees adorned with an illustration of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck (the man loved his cartoons) and a pair of flannel pajama pants, while he pulled on those ridiculous Seinfeld sweats. He pulled you in for a kiss, whispering, “No one else could make Looney Tunes and pjs look just as sexy as a black dress and heels.”
“I don’t think anyone else could pull off these Seinfeld sweats,” you whispered back, slipping two fingers into the waistband, brushing against his pelvic bone and pulling back, allowing the elastic to snap back into place before you turned and exited the room, leaving him hanging.
You headed downstairs into the living room while he disappeared into the kitchen. You fiddled absentmindedly with the new pendant around your neck while you awaited his return. He stepped into the living room, carrying a tray, upon which rested your sushi, neatly plated on a ceramic dish, alongside a bottle of bubbly. He grasped two champagne flutes in his free hand.
“Good evening, ma’am. Welcome to Burrow’s Fine Dining, the most prestigious restaurant in Cincinnati. Your food,” he said, setting the tray on the coffee table in front of the couch, where you sat curled up under a blanket, smiling like an idiot at his act. “Might I interest you in a glass of our house champagne?” he asked officially, displaying the bottle to you.
“You might,” you replied, laughing. He filled a flute, passing it to you delicately, clearly waiting for you to take a sip. You did, holding his gaze. “Fabulous. The best I’ve ever had. I also like the uniform here,” you said suggestively, eyes flicking between his bare chest and the blue sweatpants slung low on his hips.
“Only the best for our customers,” he said with a wink. “Please let any of our staff know if you need anything else,” he said, turning as if about to walk away.
“Hey! Staff! Could you find a Mr. Joe Burrow for me? We’re meant to be on a date, but he still hasn’t showed.”
He spun back around, smiling, raising his arms. “Here he is!”
“You’re an idiot, Joe,” you said, most lovingly. “Come and sit, baby.”
He joined you on the couch, pouring his own flute of champagne. “Just wanted to show you we can have a perfect night even without that restaurant. The service at home is just as good,” he said, propping his legs on the coffee table as he leaned back, sipping his champagne.
You rested your head against his shoulder. “I think the service at home is even better,” you murmured. “Thank you, Joe.”
“Anytime, sweetheart.”
You ate your sushi together on the couch, losing your mind when Joe overestimated his tolerance for wasabi and ended up with tears running down his red cheeks as you just choked on your own laughter, passing him a tissue. The bottle of champagne steadily emptied alongside the platter of food, as Joe’s laughs became heartier, your giggles more forthcoming, both of your cheeks growing rosier.
Joe set his champagne flute on the coffee table, taking yours from your hand without explanation. “About that other orgasm,” he began, grabbing your chin between his thumb and forefinger and tilting your face towards his.
“Mmm?” you hummed.
“You gonna be a good girl and let me have it?” he asked, his pupils dilating with unfiltered lust.
Warmth pooled in your core, anticipation fluttering in your stomach as you nodded. “Whenever you want it.” You closed the distance between your lips, connecting them with a passionate, breathless kiss.
His hands guided your body to lay down on the couch, keeping his lips on yours, his tongue in your mouth. You felt his hard cock on your leg through his sweatpants, and your hands went to his waistband, unsuccessfully trying to push it further down.
“What do you want, baby?” Joe asked teasingly, as if you hadn’t made it perfectly clear.
“Want these off,” you whimpered.
He shimmied his sweats and boxers down and off his legs as you lifted your hips to impatiently strip off your panties and pj pants, awkwardly wriggling on the couch, your sole focus getting it off and getting his warm body back on you. He helped you pull your his tee over your head, his practiced hands unclasping your bra and tossing it onto the carpet beside the couch, leaving you entirely bare beneath him.
His hands ran along your body, down your waist, over the curve of your hips, gripping the flesh of your ass while his head dipped down to take one of your hard nipples into his mouth. His tongue flicked against the sensitive bud as you arched up into him, whimpering his name, which somehow made him even harder. His lips popped off your nipple, giving it one flat lick before switching to the other, mumbling, “You’re fucking perfect, babygirl.” As he sucked your nipple, one of his hands found your core, groaning as he felt your soaked entrance.
Tangling your hands in his hair, you pulled his head from your chest back up to your face, desperately attaching your lips to his as you tried to grind up against his cock.
Breaking apart your needy, messy kiss, he asked, “You ready for me, baby?” Both of your lips were plump and red, glistening with each other’s saliva.
“Please, Joe,” you begged, aching for him, feeling wet beads of his precum on your thigh.
He spat into his palm before reaching between your bodies to give himself a couple firm strokes before he lined up with your weeping entrance. He began slipping his cock into you, grunting at the feel of your tight, wet heat wrapping so perfectly around him. You squirmed underneath him, adjusting around his size, filling and stretching you just right. “Relax for me, baby,” he said through gritted teeth, slowly easing into you until he bottomed out. “Lemme know when you’re ready for me to move,” he said, pressing a kiss to your cheek.
“‘M ready,” you mumbled.
He began thrusting, pulling almost all the way out before plunging back in. He rested his head in the crook of your neck, pressing wet kisses and sucking marks into the soft skin as he grunted with each thrust. “So tight for me, baby, so wet, fuck.”
Your hands scratched at his back, leaving red marks in their wake, as you let out breathy, open-mouthed moans. “Sound so pretty for me, baby,” he grunted. Using one hand, he lifted one of your legs up, bending your knee, allowing him to thrust deeper into you.
“Oh, Joe, fuck!” you cried out at the intensified sensations, his strokes hitting every spot inside of you perfectly in the new position. Ecstasy coursed through your veins, lighting your skin on fire, and when Joe started toying with your sensitized clit, you felt ready to explode, the force of your pleasure so strong it almost hurt. You whimpered in his ear, grinding your hips against his hand, and he sensed that you were close.
“Cum for me, baby, c’mon. Cum on my cock, my good girl, that’s it,” he said as he sensed your orgasm breaking. You cried out, your fucked out frame shuddering beneath him as your walls clenched down around him. He maintained the rhythmic pace of his movements, allowing you to ride out your high, stopping himself from chasing his own orgasm until he knows yours is complete.
When the tension of release leaves your body and you fall limp beneath him, your eyes drifting shut while you catch your breath, he speeds up his thrusts, his breath hot on your shoulder as he moans. His hips are snapping against yours, the vulgar sounds of your wet cunt filling the room as he fucks you hard and fast. “Fuck, baby, I’m gonna cum,” he grunts. His body stills above you as you feel the warmth of his release fill you, his teeth gently grazing your shoulder as the force of his pleasure washes over him.
He let more of his weight fall on you as he caught his breath, his sturdy body against yours while he was still buried deep within you the best feeling. “God, that was so good, Joe,” you said, pressing a kiss to his temple, his head still hidden in your shoulder.
“You’re incredible, baby. So damn good for me, everytime,” he said softly. He shifted onto his elbows, pressing a peck to your lips. “So lucky to have you, my beautiful girl.”
“I’m so lucky to have you, my pretty boy,” you echoed, as you brushed a stray curl from his forehead, fingers grazing his jawline. Your yawn interrupted the moment, as your hands went to cover your face.
“Time to head upstairs?” Joe asked, smiling.
“Mhm, I want to be in bed but I don’t want to move,” you grumbled, holding him against your chest with arms wrapped firmly around him. “One more minute here.”
After a few more minutes of just resting in each other’s embrace, exchanging giggly kisses and soft praises, he slowly pulled out of you. He stood, tugging his sweats on, leaving you bare on the couch. You grabbed a blanket to cover yourself, the room suddenly chilly without him on top of you.
“Be right back,” he said, picking up the dirty dishes from the table and heading to the kitchen, where he deposited them in the sink. He’d do them in the morning - they could wait while he spent time loving his girl.
He returned to the living room, where he bent down to tuck the blanket more tightly around you, before gathering you, blanket and all, against his chest, easily supported by his strong arms.
“Thank you,” you mumbled sleepily, nuzzling your head into his chest. With you in his arms, he did his nightly rounds of the downstairs floor, flicking off light switches and double checking the doors were locked, before heading upstairs, nudging the door of your bedroom open with his foot.
He laid you gently on the bed, heading over to open up your closet door. He grabbed himself a fresh pair of boxers and one of his long sleeve tees for you. He changed before helping you stand up, sliding the shirt over your head.
“I’m so tired,” you said, yawning as you walked into your ensuite on shaky, post-orgasm legs.
His hand came to your lower back to steady you. “We’ll have you cozy in bed soon, sweet girl.”
After using the bathroom, brushing your teeth, and taking off your makeup, you crawled gratefully into bed, immediately rolling over towards Joe’s side where you could snuggle into his inviting warmth. He slipped under the covers beside you, flicking off the bedside lamp and wrapping his arms around you.
"Thank you for everything today, Joe. You're the best Valentine ever. I love you so much," you murmured in sleepy contentment.
"I love you too, sweetheart. Is it too early to ask you to be my Valentine again next year?" he asked quietly.
"I'll be your Valentine next year and every year after that, forever."
"Good. I'd never want anyone else."

Tumblr media
synopsis. the one where haechan surprises you when you’re not feeling too good.
pairings. haechan x reader (f)
genre. comfort, fluff, established relationship
warnings. indications of oc struggling w mental health and is just having a bad day :(
note. happy vday to all my single ladies and gays ! stay safe and healthy <3 i hope u guys enjoy this one as much as i did.
“close your eyes for me real quick, baby.” he tells you.
you raise your eyebrows in suspicion. “why?”
haechan cocks his head to the side, scoffing. “just do it.” with a small sigh you do as he says.
both of you are sitting in his car, he had pulled up to your place texting you telling you you had left something at his dorm a couple nights ago and he’s coming to drop it off. you don’t recall leaving anything at his place, you would have realized if you had. yet, the last few days have been draining and your memory has been shit so you don’t think anything of it.
when you got into haechan’s car, greeting him with a short kiss. this is the first you’ve seen him since last month. him being busy with the comeback and promotions, you’ve only seen his face on face time and through the selfies he sends you occasionally.
as you sit across from him in the passenger seat, your body turned so you’re facing him. haechan quickly reaches in the back seat grabbing a bouquet of flowers that’s wrapped aesthetically in brown paper.
he holds them carefully in his hands and holding them out in front of you.
“for you.”
you slowly open your eyes, your sight adjusting to a bouquet of red roses in front of you.
“what-“ you managed to stammer out, mouth slightly agape from the sudden surprise in front of you and the boy with a nervous smile and reddened cheeks behind it.
he clears his throat. “you were having a bad day and i wanted to make you feel better.” he explains shyly.
you didn’t even realize you were beginning to cry until your vision got blurry, and that’s when you leaned over the center console to engulf his upper half into a hug as you sob into his shoulder.
“i got you, baby. i got you, it’s okay.” he softly mumbles into your hair, he places the roses down by your feet to fully wrap you in his embrace. whispering reassuring and loving words into your ears.
you knew a cry is what you needed to ease your physical and emotional pain, yet when you were alone in your apartment, it was hard to even let out a tear.
but being engulfed in haechan’s love and warmth had woken you up. this man could simply smile at you while you’re having a bad day and you won’t even realize what was dragging you down.
when he takes notice of your sniffles calming down he slowly unwraps your arms around him to cup your face.
he pouts, “aigoo, i was gonna say you’re an ugly cryer but i’d be lying.” he tries to lift up your mood, playfully teasing you.
you scoff, shoving him away as you wipe your face with the end of your sleeves from your sweater you had thrown on in a hurry when haechan said he was in front of your place.
“thank you, for the flowers, for making me happy, for letting me cry into your shoulder.” your voice wavered towards the end, the emotional tears coming back up but haechan stops them.
he holds your face in the palm of his soft hands, lightly squeezing your cheeks together to make your lips pout.
“no need to thank me, bubs.” he kisses you on your pouted lips.
“i,” kiss.
“love,” kiss.
“making,” kiss.
“you,” kiss.
“happy.” he finishes with his last kiss making a big smooch sound.

Maskin in each other’s presence - Josette Maskin (MUNA) x fem!reader (soft!gf)
sypnosis: chronic migraine!gf "ruins" dinner, but jo makes it all better:)
g's notes: look...she's late but she's here, (she's also unedited and not titled grrrr) I'll be posting vday fics until the 16th :-)
thank u cutie anon for the title <3
warnings: RPF, migraine-y symptoms, nausea but no s!ck, fluffy fluff, jo being a sweetheart, crying, smutty comments, jo's soft!gf is lowkey grumpy!gf, no physical descriptors?
Most of your life you hated Valentine's day. Once mandatory valentine's day cards were stopped in school and it started to get romantic is when your opinion on it changed. The pressure, even as a teenager, to have a valentine, combined with the hyper-consumerism of it all made it almost unbearable. almost. until you met jo.
Granted, every day felt like Valentine's Day with Jo. If there's one thing Josette is good at, it's spoiling you. She somehow cracked the walls around your heart and buttered you up with bouquets of flowers, chipping away at your disdain for the holiday with every specialty pint of ice cream and "all you can carry" trip to the bookstore.
This Valentine's had been nothing short of perfect. Jo had been busy recording Gayotic and working on the album, but Muna was finally taking a break after the Grammy, and her plans for you aligned. You had agreed on no gifts, but there's one thing Josette is going to do: get you practical gifts that you can't get mad at her for.
She awoke you with breakfast in bed, a wonderful assortment of pastries, and your favorite tea before curling into your side, her lips moving up and down your neck and jaw, biting into the junction of your shoulder softly. With kisses on your shoulder, you get dressed for a short hike, stopping by Katie's to let Bleu run around and play with her friends. You had lunch by the beach, strolling down the coast in a rental car, top-down, as Jo's hand rests on your thigh as she weaves through her hometown streets. You nap together on the hammock in the backyard; Jo reads to you from your current read, one she picked out for you (again, practical gifts), as you rest your head on their chest, fingers gently threading through your hair and rubbing your scalp.
The day had been perfect, basking in each other's presence and welcoming the sunshine after LA had been weirdly cold and rainy. You're sitting on the floor doing your makeup in front of the standing mirror (your unbuilt vanity in boxes because Jo doesn't have the guts to ask Naomi to help her build it) while Josette stands behind you, tucking their dress shirt into a pair of slacks. It's slight, but the pain behind your left eye makes you freeze, mascara wand in front of your eye.
"What's wrong?" Jo murmurs.
"Huh?"
"You look like you saw a ghost..." Jo giggles undertones of worry in their tone.
"Oh, just- was thinking- need to make sure I shut the curling iron off," you say quickly, coming up with an excuse. Your refusal to let the inclination of a headache or migraine ruin your night.
"Can I unplug it now?" Jo asks sweetly, heading towards the bathroom. Jo heads in and unplugs as soon as you nod and continue doing your makeup.
"Thanks," you mumble, focusing on not getting any mascara on your pink eyelids. The pain subsides, and you continue getting ready.
It's not until you're in the car, the headlights make you wince, the lights bright and looking like starbursts, that you realize you're indeed getting a migraine. Jo's hand is again fixed on your thigh, tapping gently along with the music, when a slight pain shoots up the base of your neck to your head. As Jo parks and holds out her hand for you, you wobble slightly, Jo's eyes flashing with concern as you giggle it off, blaming it on your heels.
All throughout dinner, Jo keeps a close eye on you, noticing your blinks becoming longer, the way you push your food around on your fork, sipping cold water gently. Josette goes to the bathroom and, on her way back to the table, sees you with your fingers at your temples, rubbing gently as you crane your neck. Jo comes back, rubbing the back of your neck, "Why didn't you tell me you were getting a migraine?" she murmurs softly, eyes flooded with worry and disappointment. You quickly straighten up, trying to brush it off.
"I'm fine, Josie, I swear," you say, face paling at the sharp pain behind your eyes.
"You can't fool me, doll," Jo groans, pulling out their wallet as they sit back down.
"No, wait, we haven't even ordered dessert," you slur out, cursing yourself for not taking something to prevent the bad symptoms earlier.
"Baby girl, you're slurring; we can get dessert later; I need to get you home," Jo says, voice firm and definitive.
You pout, tears welling in your eyes as Jo pays for your meal, feeling guilty as she gently holds your back and walks you to the car. Instantly Jo is in caretaker mode, the food is placed in the trunk sp the smells don't bother you, she has you close your eyes, opening the windows for fresh air, taking a piece of peppermint gum and handing it to you gently.
"Just until we get home," Josette mumbles, buckling in your seatbelt and wiping your tears away with her thumb. You can't help but cry, yes, from the pain but also for ruining a perfect day, knowing there won't be any fun, intimate activities tonight.
Jo starts to drive quickly but safely, trying to keep the movements of the car limited, knowing the pain could turn to nausea quick.
"Don't cry, baby, I know it hurts; you didn't bring your meds, did you?" Jo asks, rubbing your knee.
You shake your head. "No," chewing the gum gently as you try to take deep breaths, the pain becoming more intense every minute in the car.
"I don't feel good, Josie." You cry, the mind-numbing pain now paired with nausea. At the next red light, Jo reaches into the glove compartment, getting alcohol pads, ripping them open to have you sniff to curb the nausea. "You're okay, sweet girl, just breathe," she murmurs again, trying to get home as fast as possible.
The second you're back home, the migraine routine Jo can do with her eyes closed begins. They immediately help you into pajamas, propping you up with a bin at your bedside. They grab your face roller, eye mask, and migraine gap, collecting your water bottle and meds before heating up a heat pack for your feet.
"Come on, that's my girl," Jo mumbles proudly, voice filtered with a teasing tone, watching you sip water after taking your meds, the room as dark as possible, Bleu lying at the end of your bed, head resting on your feet. "Good girl...you nauseous?" Jo whispers, smiling when you shake your head no. "Okay, stay still for a little," they say softly, moving to the bathroom to set up after the medication kicks in.
After 45 minutes and a quick nap, the pain is duller, and your migraine cap is thawed. Bleu's head is resting on your lower stomach, your hand moving to scratch her ears. Jo returns to the room when she hears her tail thumping against the bed. "You awake?" Jo whispers, walking over to your side of the bed and rubbing a hand down your arm.
"Mhm," you mumble, removing the cap. The room is dark except for a few unscented candles scattered around.
"Bath time?" Jo smiles, rubbing your cheek softly, holding your chin as she leans in and kisses your cheek. They help you get out of bed, gently stripping you of your pajamas and helping you get into the bath, the hot water and Epsom salts helping soothe your muscles. The bathroom is dark, besides unscented candlelight. Jo is sitting beside the tub, rubbing your back gently as you sit in the warm soapy water.
"I'm sorry," you say tearfully.
"For what?" Jo asks curiously, moving to wash your hair.
"Ruining dinner," you sniffle, wiping your eyes.
Jo chuckles softly, massaging your scalp gently. "You have no reason to be sorry, baby..." they start, moving to rinse your hair. "Do I wish we were in the tub doing... other things... yes, of course... but it's not your fault you got a migraine. In fact, it's a good reminder that you need your shot tomorrow," Jo says softly, squeezing the excess water out of your hair.
You groan, thankful that Jo has been willing to give you your migraine injection in the outer thigh for most of your relationship thus far, but it's never enjoyable. But even the things that were never enjoyable, like Valentine's Day, are much better with Jo. As she sits on the floor next to the tub in sweatpants and a sports bra, you can't help but be grateful for all they do for you. Jo makes everything full of love and light; for every migraine, birthday, illness, stressor, holiday, party, and everything in between.
"What kinda things?" you mumble, cheeks heating up as she scrubs your back.
"How about we have a do-over tomorrow? Let me wake you up with some of the things I wanna do, eh?" they say with a smirk, kissing your damp cheek with a cheeky smile on her face.

Fem!Reader x Hotch | You surprise Aaron with boudoir photos and a new lingerie set for Valentine’s Day.
Warnings: 🤭+🥵 Tons of fluff (because Vday with Aaron would be nothing short of the cutest thing ever!!) Smut [soft smut, thigh riding, fem!receiving oral, hand job, fingering, unprotected sex (please be safe everyone!!) and lots of fluffy aftercare 🥺]
Word Count: 10,012
PREVIOUS
Series Masterlist / Main Masterlist
Although this started as a stand-alone story, as I was writing it I couldn’t help but envision the same characters and scenarios that I previously wrote about in His Favourite Pair (PT1) / (PT2). [ie. the blush pink lingerie set, the fact that ‘tulip’ was their safe word, her calling him ‘my love’, and him being a big reason for her boost in confidence]. If you so choose to believe that this is a continuation of those stories, I would not be opposed to that 😉
**********
Late in the afternoon on a Saturday, you and Aaron were walking hand in hand across the tile floor of the mall. With Jack at his Aunt’s for the weekend, you two had decided you wanted to get out of the house for a bit. You hadn’t come here with anything specific in mind, you were okay simply spending time wandering around, just being together.
As countless storefronts passed by, few caught your attention. It wasn’t until the sign for your favourite lingerie shop was in sight that you felt the excitement to browse the racks. With a slight tug on his arm, you spoke through an excited smile, “Ooo, I want to look around in here!”
Looking down at you, he couldn’t help the smile that creased the corners of his eyes; the joy on your face made his heart melt. “Okay,” he nodded, “I’ll wait for you.”
With an exaggerated pout making it’s home on your face, you asked playfully, “you’re not going to come in with me? I just need a new bra.” You laughed softly, “you saw the one I was wearing last week, it’s seen better days.”
As his eyes scanned the storefront, row after row of lacy material clear as day, he finally looked back at you. You’d been together for a little over 2 years now, and he’d seen you in your underwear before. Hell, he’d seen you in much less than that. He’d only hesitated because he didn’t want to intrude on your personal time, if you wanted to do this yourself. But he couldn’t deny how good it felt knowing you were comfortable having him accompany you while you picked something out.
“You’ve got a point there,” he laughed, knowing it was definitely on its last legs, “I can come in if you’d like me to.”
Without a word, the excited giggle that escaped your lips made it clear you were happy with his answer. With your hand still gripping his, you pulled him towards the store, and only let go of his hand once you began flipping through the racks.
Even though you weren’t there for anything special, you couldn’t help but have a look through everything any time you were there. As your fingers trailed along the different fabrics, everything from the flowery lace to the irresistibly smooth silk, you couldn’t help but look up at Aaron every so often. Although he was doing his best to hide it, he looked like a kid in a candy store.
You took note of the way he lingered in front of one item in particular. As your eyes lifted from the rack you were looking through, you saw him hesitate, feet planted firmly in place as he slowly reached out to feel the material. A gorgeous royal blue set, elegant in how minimal the pattern was, hung on the rack beautifully. The thin lace trim along the edges was accentuated by a simple bow between the cups.
He wondered what the bold colour might look like on you. He laughed internally as he thought to himself, “she would look stunning in anything.” As his thumb ran across the soft material, he couldn’t help but imagine it sliding smoothly beneath his palms while you were wearing it. For a split second, his mind slipped even farther into the fantasy, daydreaming about pulling you into his lap, lingerie still in tact, your bodies impossibly close.
He cleared his throat, a sad attempt at ignoring the thoughts that now consumed his mind. Blinking a few times, trying to refocus on reality, he pulled his eyes away from the material. In no time, he was glancing over at you, and he was immediately aware that he’d been caught. The cheeky smile that was plastered across your face made heat rush to his cheeks, before you gleefully looked away.
Unwilling to be apart from you any longer, he made his way through the aisles until he was standing right next to you, his hand slipping effortlessly around your waist. With a slight squeeze of your hip, he asked, “any luck finding something?”
Holding your hand up, you showed him the two you’d found. The same style you always went for, one a simple black, and the other a gorgeous light purple.
“Yep! I think I’m good to go now..” you paused, looking up at him before hinting at the set he’d had his sights on, “unless there’s something you’d like me to add?”
His pupils dilated, he couldn’t deny the urge he felt to say yes. But he knew you didn’t need it. You already had a variety of different styles and colours, which you’d proudly worn for him in the past, every single one of which he loved. Besides, it was you he was attracted to, not some flimsy fabric. Laughing lightly, he shook his head, “no, it’s okay. You get what you need.”
Raising your eyebrows at him, you gave him a second to change his mind, but he didn’t budge. “Okay..”
As you made your way to the register, Aaron was glued to your side, hand still resting on your hip, and you could feel the tension beginning to build. Though you weren’t going home with a new outfit to show off, you were still going home with him, his mind now full of all kinds of wonderful ideas, and you were prepared for whatever was to come.
The second your card was back in your purse, and the cashier was sliding your bag across the counter, he was reaching for your hand. He swiftly made his way out of the store, pulling you along behind him. You couldn’t help but laugh at how urgent his movements were, “Aaron,” you laughed, “slow down, I have short legs remember?”
He was quick to reduce his strides, “sorry, sorry..” he apologized, “I just..” he cleared his throat, “I can’t wait to get you home.” He said those last words as he looked down at you, red hot desire burning in his eyes. Your lips parted as you breathed out heavy, and he couldn’t help but smile at the affect his words had on you.
As you reached the vehicle, you were both quick to climb into your seats, and before you knew it he was whipping out of the parking lot and racing home. The entire drive, he had his arm stretched out, his hand grasping the inside of your thigh, only inches away from where your body was now aching.
If simply seeing that set hanging on the rack had him this wound up, you knew you had to have it.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
After the passion of that night, you’d found it difficult to push the memory of him running his thumb along the material out of your mind. As that tiny moment played over and over, you tried harder each time to ignore the urge you felt to rush back to the store and buy it.
Until an idea finally hit you; you were going to get boudoir photos taken in that set, just for him.
You’d always envied girls who were confident enough to take boudoir photos. The intimacy of sharing your body with someone else had always been something you struggled with, even if it was only to be photographed. But now, knowing Aaron, your sweet, loving, gentle Aaron, was going to be on the receiving end of them, made a thrill run down your spine.
You made a point of stopping at the mall on your way home from work the next day. Walking into the store, you made a bee-line straight for the spot you’d seen it hanging a few days earlier and flipped through until you found your size. Making a quick trip to the change rooms just to be sure, you couldn’t help the excitement that consumed you over how well it fit; it was almost like Aaron had just known it would be perfect for you.
In no time at all, you were back in your vehicle and checking your emails. You’d spent the entire evening before searching for the photographer who’s style you liked best. After settling on one you felt drawn towards, you’d emailed her and was now anxiously awaiting a response. As you refreshed your emails, you were sad to see your inbox free of any new messages, but you knew you needed to be patient. After all, it hadn’t even been 24 hours.
Luckily, it wasn’t long before you heard back from the photographer, and you felt nothing but pure joy as you read through the email. As you took in all the information about what would be included in the session, as well as pricing and final product options, made it all feel so real. In a matter of days, you had a date set, and now all you could do was wait.

The few weeks between picking a date, and the day finally arriving, were excruciating; you could hardly contain your excitement. And although it was a surprise you knew he was going to love, you hated that you felt like you were keeping something from Aaron. But the day was finally here, and the butterflies in your stomach were alive and well, in the best way possible.
You’d been informed that there was a limit of 5 outfit changes per session. Not one to miss out on the opportunity for variety in your outfits, you packed your bag for the day with 4 sets you already owned that you knew Aaron loved, along with the stunning new one.
As you arrived at the studio, you were in complete awe of just how gorgeous her set up was. The large space was home to three tall windows letting in a breathtaking amount of natural light. A sheer tapestry hung on the main wall, adding a colourful pattern as the backdrop for the set.
The bed was centered on the wall, but angled slightly to add some dimension, with space between the bed frame and the wall so the photographer could capture every angle. Along the back wall was a classy velvet couch, paired with a full length mirror. And to top it all off, there was a gorgeous patterned rug in the middle of the room that you would find out was perfect for showing off that arch in your back flawlessly.
You got along with your photographer immediately, having built a bit of rapport throughout your emails, the two of you really clicked in person. She’d asked ahead of time if there were certain poses you were for or against, as well as certain parts of your body you might want to accentuate or shy away from.
You were honest, making it known that as much as you were more than excited for the confidence boost this was going to bring you, you were doing this for him. It had been a long road to loving the body you were in, and you knew a lot of the progress you’d made was because of Aaron and his constant affirmations and encouragement, and you wanted to focus on that.
You knew how much he loved your hips, his hands seeming to find their way there in almost any circumstance, whether innocent or not. You knew your breasts needed to be a main focus, with the amount of love and care he constantly showered them with. And lastly, he was always drawn to your thighs, with either a gentle hand on your leg, or how frequently he commented on how right it felt when he was buried between them.
The shoot went incredibly well; you felt sexy, and confident, and you quite honestly didn’t want it to end. With every preview you saw of the photos in between poses, you couldn’t contain the joy you felt. If you could go back in time and tell your younger self that you’d be here right now, you would have laughed. Instead, here you were, thrilled that you were giving yourself the chance to express yourself in such an intimate and empowering way.
When the session was over, you sat down with her as the photos all popped up one by one on her computer, and you began the selection process. With so many to choose from, you had to narrow it down to a total of 31 photos (typically to allow for 6 of each outfit, and 1 on the intro page), all of which would be printed in a photo album, one with a sleek black cover where you would have the phrase “for your eyes only” embossed in the center.
The last thing you did before finishing the selection of photos to be included was making one specific request; when the photo album was being designed and printed, you wanted the photos in that new royal blue set to be on the final pages. You wanted those photos to be the very last ones he saw.
As time passed, you found yourself more and more impatient as you waited for your photo album to be complete. It was the end of January when you’d received an email update from your photographer letting you know that it was ready. Picking it up from the studio, you two looked through it just to make sure it was what you wanted, and you couldn’t ignore the excitement that welled in your chest. It was perfect, and you could only imagine how Aaron would react once he had it within his grasp. You thanked her profusely for everything, and left feeling lighter than air.
On the drive home, you tried to come up with a plan for how you were going to give it to him, and that’s when you realized you were only a little over two weeks way from Valentine’s Day. Though it hadn’t been your original intention, and waiting the extra 17 days might just prove to be more difficult than you’d imagined, you decided you were going to wait.

When February 14th finally rolled around, those same butterflies you’d felt on the day of the photoshoot were back. You two had decided on a romantic walk through the Moongate Garden, and a nice dinner out, before returning home to spend the rest of the evening in. You couldn’t wait to give Aaron his gift, and you eagerly anticipated what was surely to follow.
You’d picked this specific dress for a reason; it was an almost identical match to the colour of the new lingerie set you were wearing underneath. The way the dress hugged your curves in all the right places made your confidence grow, with the v-neck accentuating your breasts flawlessly, and the long sleeves giving it a light and airy feel. Turning around and looking over your shoulder in the mirror, you couldn’t help but smile at how well it followed the curve of your hips; Aaron was going to have a field day.
You slipped into your heels before exiting the bedroom to find him sitting on the edge of the couch, patiently waiting for you to finish getting resdy. As his eyes lifted and connected with yours, his jaw visibly dropped, as he blinked a couple times. Taking in the sight of you in front of him, he stood and immediately made his way towards you, “you’re absolutely stunning, sweetheart.”
You felt heat rise in your cheeks as you reached your hands out to him, “thank you, Aaron. You don’t look too shabby yourself,” you admitted, gently grabbing hold of his tie.
He smiled down at you, before you tugged lightly on his tie, pulling his lips to yours and kissing him tenderly. His hands finding their way to your hips like they always did, he pulled you closer to him, and sighed contentedly against your lips. He broke away from the kiss so he could lean forward and whisper in your ear, “let’s get going, before I change my mind and decide to keep you home all night..”
An excited chill ran through your body and straight to your core, as you tried your best to play it off like you weren’t affected by his words, “always such a tease..” You spoke as your placed a gentle kiss to the corner of his mouth, before letting go of his tie and making your way towards the door.
He eagerly followed, and before you knew it you were walking hand in hand through the stunning garden, just as the sun was setting. The warm orange glow from the sky made everything breathtaking; if you’d asked him, he would have said that included you.
A couple hours later, you were making your way back to your vehicle after enjoying a fantastic dinner at one of your favourite spots. Once you were both settled in your seats, you thanked him for the wonderful evening.
“I should be thanking you,” his voice was soft as he spoke, “you’ve been putting up with me for nearly three years now,” he teased, “I can promise you, I’m the lucky one.”
Although you knew he was teasing in that moment, you also knew there was always that hint of feeling unworthy of love that lingered in the back of his mind. Like at any moment the other shoe would drop and you would leave him, too. But you were quick to put his mind at ease, “Hey.. We’re in this together, remember?” He nodded gently. “I love you, Aaron.”
After that exchange, you knew you couldn’t have picked a more perfect night to give him his gift. You wanted him to know how much you cared for him, how much you trusted him, and how much you desired him. Surely giving him a photo album full of intimate photos, just for him, would do the trick.
He leaned over the centre console of the vehicle and kissed your lips tenderly. “Happy Valentine’s Day, sweetheart.”
Your eyes smiled back at him, “Happy Valentine’s Day, my love.”
Before pulling out of the parking lot, he was reaching into his jacket pocket in search of something. As his hand came into view, you saw him grasping a tiny silver box with a simple red ribbon holding it shut. He was silent as he handed it to you, and you reached out to pick it up gently. You looked up at him and he smiled softly in return, “open it.”
Sliding the ribbon off the side, you pulled back the top of the box and a smile graced your lips as you took in the sight of the gorgeous necklace in your hand. He knew you so damn well. Gold jewelry, minimalistic in style, with the dainty outline of a tulip, your favourite flower, pressed into the metal.
You looked up at him, the love you had for him clear as day in your eyes, “Aaron.. it’s perfect.”
A bashful smile lit up his face, “yeah? You like it?”
Nodding your head, you leaned forward and kissed him gently, “I love it.” You smiled at each other as you placed one last peck against his lips, “thank you.”
There was no hiding the smile on his face, “you’re welcome. I love you, Y/N.”
Your heart fluttered, “I love you, too.” Excitement settled deep in your chest as you spoke once more, “and I have something for you, but it’s at home.” Nodding in response, he put the vehicle in reverse and was soon pulling out of the parking lot.
On the drive home, you’d pulled the necklace out of the box and fastened it in place. Pulling down the visor in front of you, you looked in the mirror and admired how perfect it looked hanging around your neck. With a quick glance to the side, he smiled, clearly agreeing.
Once home, he held your hand as he lead you up the front walkway and through the door. Flipping the lock, he turned to face you and you wordlessly stepped together, connecting your lips immediately. It wasn’t long before he was leading you towards the couch, not wanting to be without you on top of him any longer.
As he turned his back to the couch, getting ready to fall back and pull you into his lap, you paused. Pulling your lips away from his, you looked him in the eyes as you rested your palms against his chest and playfully pushed him backwards. Once his back was flush against the couch, and you were standing in front of him, you slowly leaned forward and whispered in his ear, “wait here.”
He exhaled hard as he watched you walk away. You glanced over your shoulder, teasingly making sure he was still sitting there, and he had to pull his eyes away from the way your hips swayed effortlessly in that dress to meet your line of sight. A cheeky smile spread like wildfire across his face when he realized he’d been caught.
Digging to the back of the closet where you’d hidden the photo album, you grabbed hold of it and swiftly made your way back out to the living room. He could tell you were holding something behind your back, and he raised an eyebrow at you in question.
Sitting on the couch next to him, the album still hidden, you did your best to explain what your intentions were, and how much it meant to you, before simply handing it over. “So.. this is something I’ve always wanted to do..” you trailed off, and he listened intently, an encouraging smile on his face, “but it took a long time for me to get to the point where I was comfortable and confident enough to do it.”
Although he wasn’t sure exactly what you were talking about just yet, he continued to listen, reaching out and placing an encouraging hand on your knee. “So, as much as this is a gift for you, it’s also a thank you. For helping me grow into my skin, and for loving me the way you do. You say you’re the lucky one, but it’s not lost on me how thankful I am to have you either.” The way his face lit up at your words made your heart swell.
Bringing his hand up to the side of your face, he leaned close and kissed your forehead gently, “I love you so much, my sweet girl.”
The soft smile on your face soon transformed into a giddy one, and the butterflies in your stomach made themselves known once again. “Okay..” you breathed out, “this is for you..”
Your whole body shook excitedly as you brought it out from behind your back, his eyes following your hands intently as you placed it in his lap. As he read the four words written on the front in gold script, “for your eyes only”, he ran his fingers across the letters as he slowly looked up at you.
Repeating his sentiment from earlier, you simply said, “open it,” as a soft smile pulled at the corner of your lips.
Glancing back down at the album in his hands, he pulled open the cover and was greeted with a stunning close up of you from the shoulders up, but it was still clear what you were wearing. Your eyes were closed and your head was tilted to the side slightly, with one hand grasping one of the straps and pulling it off your shoulder. A simple handwritten note underneath read:
“For Aaron: my joy, my heart, my world.”
Blinking a few times, he looked back up at you and you could see the realization on his face. The love he had for you was radiating from the smile that crinkled his eyes, before he pulled his gaze away from you, focusing back on the pages in front of him. The nerves that had settled deep in the pit of your stomach slowly dissipated once he flipped the page and let out an airy breath.
The spread on the first two pages was a collage of which outfits were to come, all close up shots of the details of each set; all of them except the royal blue one that is. As his eyes trailed across the page, if it wasn’t already clear they were photos of you, there was no denying it now, as he immediately recognized the different pieces you’d worn for him in the past. Reaching his hand out, he gently trailed his fingertips along the page, taking in each photo, one after the other.
The first photo was of a flawless white set, floral lace covering the surface and adding small pops of colour throughout. It was the first set you’d ever worn for him, on your first anniversary.
The second photo was of a sexy red set, tiny hearts scattered across it, the sheer material making your nipples visible. You’d worn it for Valentine’s Day the year before.
The third photo was of a gorgeous blush pink set, and one of his favourites, the lace making you look absolutely divine. This set was always a go-to for both of you, especially after a certain instance when you’d snuck the panties into his suitcase.
The fourth and final photo was of a stunning burgundy set, one that had added straps across the top of both of your breasts, accentuation their curves. He’d bought this one for you as a Christmas gift your second year together.
You watched his face intently as he took it all in; the way his lips parted slightly, and his eyes lingered on each photo, made pride well in your chest. He finally looked back up at you, and you could see the desire beginning to burn behind the love and care in his eyes. Leaning towards you, he reached his hand up to capture the back of your neck, before pulling your lips to his passionately.
Almost unable to contain yourself, you leaned into it and cupped his face with both of your hands, as your tongues danced with each other momentarily. You finally pulled back, both of you near breathless, and you rested your forehead against his.
“Fuck, I love you..” he whispered.
You let out an airy laugh, “I love you, too..” You kissed his lips once more before stating, “keep looking..”
There was no hiding the eagerness in his eyes now, but he pushed it aside for the time being, knowing both of you wanted him to finish looking through the entire album. Little did he know, he was in for quite the surprise, and you couldn’t wait.
As he flipped through the pages, image after image of you showing yourself off for him seared themselves into his mind. One particular photo he hesitated on was one of you kneeling in front of the mirror. Facing the camera, with your back to the mirror, it gave him the perfect view of all of you. The way your hair fell to the side when you tilted your head, with your fingers in your hair. The way your thighs looked, spread ever so slightly, inviting him in. And the way your ass rested gently on your heels, looking all too perfect for his hands to grasp.
After that one, he needed to take a second to gather himself. There were still a few pages to go, and he was already turned on beyond belief. He cleared his throat and swallowed hard, before breathing deep and looking up at you. “You are so gorgeous, my girl. I can’t believe I get you all to myself.”
You blinked slowly a couple times, the way his dominant and possessive side flickered in his tone made heat pool between your legs. You leaned forward to kiss his lips tenderly, “I’m yours. All yours.”
Your words made it next to impossible for him to continue, wanting nothing more than to toss the album aside and start undressing you right then and there. But he didn’t. With his jaw clenched, he turned back to the album in front of him, before taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out.
Finally turning the page once more, there they were, the stunning photos of you in that royal blue set scattered the pages in full colour. With your eyes locked on him, you felt your body exhale at the way his jaw dropped, and his eyes widened, “is this.. that’s the same..” He was having a hard time articulating the emotions running through his mind. It was the same set he’d been dreaming of for months, he knew it.
Lifting his head, he eagerly looked at you in search of reassurance of what he knew was true. You nodded enthusiastically, and before you could speak, his lips were crashing into yours again. Giggling through the kiss, you reluctantly pulled away and confessed, “I went back the next day.. I couldn’t resist.”
His eyes scanned your face longingly; he was in complete disbelief over the fact that the amount of love he felt for you was able fit inside his chest at once. He didn’t know what he’d done in his life to deserve to have you by his side, but here you were, and you were his entire world.
At a complete loss for words, he simply turned his focus back to the photos in his hands. It was the way your breasts fit perfectly inside the cups, and the way the cheeky cut of the underwear made your ass look divine. He couldn’t stop staring. He was slow to turn the page, as more photos filled his mind, doing nothing but making him fall even deeper in love with you.
You’d done all of this for him. He could hardly believe it. You two had been intimate together countless times before, so seeing you like this was nothing new. And yet somehow, this was completely different. This was more permanent, he’d have it forever. It was something he would be able to turn to when you weren’t there. It would be a reminder of the love you had for him. Not to mention the fact that you’d gone to the effort of putting yourself out there in a way you never thought you could before, just to prove to him that he was worthy of love. Maybe he was doing something right after all.
The last two pages had a single photo on each, both taking up the entire page. The first was one of you in the middle of the floor on that gorgeous rug, with your knees bent and toes pointed, your back arching off the floor, and your hair shining flawlessly in the light. The second was a shot of you in the centre of the bed, lying on your stomach, arms stretched above your head with your ass in the air slightly, your hair the perfect amount of tousled as it fell to the side.
With another deep breath out, he closed the back cover of the album and carefully set it on the coffee table in front of him. Looking over at you, he spoke breathlessly, “come here..” In no time at all, he was reaching out to you, hands finding their way to your hips as he pulled you into his lap, finally. Kissing you passionately, a soft giggle of yours made him smile against your lips, before you both wrapped your arms around each other and held on tight.
You whispered against his neck, “so.. do you like it?”
Pulling back from your embrace slightly, his arms still around your waist and your hands now on his shoulders, he confessed, “do I..” he trailed off, taking a moment to gather his thoughts, “sweetheart.. I love it. And I love you.” With one hand now resting on the side of your face, he ran his thumb across your cheek lovingly. “It’s an incredibly generous gift. You did all of that, for me?” he breathed out hot, “I just.. I have no words.. I don’t know how I could ever thank you enough.”
As you listened to his words, your heart swelled, and you couldn’t help the flustered smile that made its home on your face. Leaning forward, you kissed him once more before looking him in the eyes and admitting cheekily, “well.. I can think of a few things..”
He didn’t need to be asked twice, as he smiled wide at your implication, before connecting his lips to yours once more. With both of his hands back on your hips, he pulled you even father into his lap, as your lips parted to allow his eager tongue to slip past. He kissed you deep, and slow, with your fingers carding through his hair, you tugged ever so gently, causing him to moan against your lips.
He was still urgent in his movements, still desperate to have you, but things had taken an unexpected turn. Something about the vulnerability of you putting yourself out there like that, just for him, had turned the evening on it’s axis. What you both thought was going to be a night full of hungry, rough, and heated sex, had quickly turned into what you now both understood was going to be a night of making tender, deep, and passionate love with each other.
Regardless of how things progressed, one thing was always true, and that was the care he put into making sure you were more than satisfied by the end of the evening. And tonight would be no different.
You felt his hands slowly move from your hips to slide along your thighs. Once he reached the hem of your dress, he began pushing the material back, exposing you to him. As one hand slid even farther under your dress, he applied gentle pressure with his thumb, caressing your core through the thin fabric of your underwear. The second his thumb made contact with the material, he knew exactly what you were wearing.
Halting his movements, he pulled his lips away from yours to look you in the eyes, his pupils blown wide. “You’re wearing the blue one, aren’t you?” You nodded lightly, your breathing laboured. He swallowed deep, “you’ve been wearing it all night?”
You nodded again, “oops.. did I forget to tell you that part?” you teased.
The way his eyes darkened made heat pool between your legs, “fuck sweetheart.. show me..”
He helped you up, and once you were standing in front of him, you leaned forward and gently grabbed hold of his tie. “Okay.. but you first..”
He didn’t hesitate, tugging on the knot and pulling the fabric from around his neck before tossing it aside, making you both laugh. Kneeling in front of him, you started working on his belt while he pulled his suit jacket off and undid the buttons on his shirt. In no time at all, he was stripped down to nothing but his boxers, his already hard length making itself know.
Before standing again, you leaned forward and trailed kisses across his chest, and down his stomach, before placing one final kiss against him through the fabric of his boxers. You smiled at the moan that escaped his lips as you did, causing your walls to clench around nothing.
Knowing the new lingerie would mean he’d want you to undress for him, you’d planned for it. You wanted to make it easy for yourself by picking something that not only matched the lingerie set, but was stretchy enough that it would come off easily. Once you were standing, you carefully pulled the sleeves down one at a time, slipping your arms out the top.
You effortlessly hooked your thumbs in the now crumpled material, pulling it down past your breasts, and past your waist, before finally dropping it to the floor. With the lingerie set now on full display for him, accentuated beautifully by the dainty gold necklace still hanging around your neck, he was nearly speechless once again. “You.. sweetheart, you’re..” he mumbled, “fuck, you’re so gorgeous..”
Smiling at his flustered confession, you moved forward in an attempt to rest your weight in his lap once more. As you did, he spread his legs slightly, and guided one of his knees between yours. It didn’t take long for you to figure out why he’d done what he had, as your already soaking core made contact with his thigh.
With his hands immediately finding their way to your hips, he encouraged you to begin rocking back and forth, dragging your still clothed core along the muscles in his thigh. The feeling was already so good, as you tipped your head back, your hair falling behind your shoulders, giving him a direct view of the stunning colour that clothed your body.
He gently ran his palms up your sides, before bringing them to the front of your body, cupping your breasts in his large hands. As he ran his thumbs across the material, you both knew this was exactly what he’d imagined in the store that day. You on top of him, using him to make yourself feel good, as he trailed his palms along the material; the thought made heat rush through your veins.
With your hands planted firmly on his chest, keeping yourself steady, your body got used to the familiar contact in no time, and you desperately needed more. The moan that escaped your lips told him as much, so his hands were back on your hips in an instant, gripping your soft flesh with his fingertips, and helping you move faster.
“Does that feel good, sweetheart? he asked, already knowing the answer but wanting to hear you say it anyway. When you simply nodded your head in response, he prompted you again, “Yeah?”
Your heart was racing, “yes..” you admitted between deep breaths, “Aaron, it feels so good.”
With your climax quickly approaching, he could feel the tension building with how uneven your movements had become, “are you going to cum for me?” Again, you could only nod in response, your breathing getting more and more ragged by the second; the feeling was almost too much. “Good, that’s my good girl. You’re doing so well, sweetheart,” he encouraged, “fuck, you look so good like this.”
Bringing your hands up to the side of his face, you pulled his lips to yours and kissed him deeply. He was quick to respond, kissing you back with just as much passion, all while his hands still had a firm grasp on your hips. As you got closer and closer to the edge, you felt the muscles in his thigh tense, and you knew he was doing it on purpose.
Separating your lips from his, you rested your forehead against his. “Ohhh..” you moaned, “Aaron, I’m close.. I’m so close..”
With a huge grin on his face, he kept a firm grasp on your hips, “yeah, that’s it, cum for me sweet girl..”
The praise that fell of his lips was all you needed, as your body crested the wave. With your body shaking, and hips stuttering, you felt relief consume your mind as he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his chest. You gently wrapped your arms around his shoulders with what little energy you had left in you, and nuzzled your head into his neck.
Your heavy breathing began to slow as he gently ran his fingers through your hair and whispered in your ear, “shhh, shhh, there you go. I love you so much, sweetheart. Yeah, just breathe.”
Once you’d caught your breath again, you laughed softly against his neck, “shit.. that was so good.”
He laughed right along with you, “yeah? You liked that, huh?” You hummed in agreement, before nuzzling your body even closer to his.
With his arms still holding you close, his palms exploring your soft skin, he trailed his fingers along the back of your bra, revelling in the way the smooth material complimented your skin so flawlessly.
It wasn’t long before your hips started moving along his thigh once again, and he couldn’t help but chuckle, “does my girl want more already?”
Sighing heavily, your body still impossibly close to his, you admitted, “yes, more, please..”
With a huge smile on his face, he encouraged you to lift your weight off his lap so you could readjust, “lay back sweetheart, let me take care of you..”
Exhaling deep at his words, you didn’t hesitate, allowing him to help you lay back, your shoulders resting on the arm of the couch. It was a tight squeeze with both of you laying on the couch, but you’d made it work so many times before that it was like second nature for both of you. The way you spread your legs wide for him, and the way he nuzzled himself between your thighs, right where he always loved to be.
Gazing down at him, eyelids still heavy under the weight of your first release, you watched as he gently ran his fingers along the outside of the fabric covering your soft lips. “You’re so wet, sweetheart, we’ve ruined these already..” he spoke through a smirk, before he leaned forward and kissed you gently through the material.
He took his time, getting you riled you up ever so slowly with soft kisses against the outside of your panties, before finally pulling the now soaking fabric to the side and eagerly attaching his lips to your body. The moan that graced your lips was music to his ears, and in no time at all, he felt the familiar tugging of your hands in his hair. Allowing your head to drop back, you did your best to relax and enjoy the pleasure he was offering. With long, firm swipes of his tongue through your folds, he took his time devouring you.
With one arm wrapped around your hip, his hand lying flat against your stomach holding you in place, he continued with the calculated motions of his tongue against your body. But it wasn’t long until the familiar feeling of him lining his fingers up with your entrance consumed your mind. And before you knew it, he was slowly guiding two fingers between your tight walls, his name blissfully falling off your lips.
With a slight curling motion, he gently ran the pads of his fingers against that spongey spot inside you, over and over and over. All the while, his tongue was still dancing effortlessly against your swollen clit.
“Oh fuck.. yeah, right there..” you could feel the smile that spread across his face at your pleas, “Aaron.. don’t stop, oh please don’t stop.”
In a matter of seconds, he felt your walls clenching around his fingers, as your grasp on his hair tightened. Slowing his movements ever so slightly, he drew your pleasure out of you as long as you would allow, until he felt your slight nudge on his head telling him that was enough.
As you desperately tried to regain your composure, your chest heaving, he trailed soft kisses along the inside of your thighs in between words of praise. “That’s my girl..” a tender kiss on the inside of your knee, “so sexy when you’re cumming for me..” another gentle kiss farther up your thigh, “so beautiful, sweetheart.”
Resting his cheek against the inside of your thigh, he slowly brought his fingers back up and gently ran them through your folds, smiling wide at the way your body shuddered at the overstimulation. As a gentle laugh escaped your lips at the feeling, you finally lifted your head and looked down at him. As your eyes met, you couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face as he placed another gentle kiss against the inside of your thigh.
Repeating his sentiment from earlier, you reach your arms out to him and whispered, “come here..”
Without hesitation, he carefully pulled your hips farther down the couch so you’re shoulders were flat against the cushions, causing you to giggle lightly. With his body now caging you in from above, you wasted no time in wrapping your legs around his waist, with your hands on either side of his face, pulling his lips to yours. You could taste your own release on his tongue, and it made heat rush through your veins, as you hummed against his lips.
“Aaron..” you mumbled, “I want to feel you..”
“Okay..” he mumbled just as you had, “here?” inquiring if you wanted to get more comfortable in the bedroom.
Nodding softly, you admitted, “right here. I just want you..”
He couldn’t help the smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth, “okay.” Placing a gentle kiss to your forehead, he swiftly leaned back and removed his boxers, tossing them to the side.
Hovering over you again, he gently caressed the side of your face with one hand, while carefully lining himself up with the other. Gazing into your eyes, he asked softly, “you ready, sweetheart?” You nodded, your soft hum of agreement gripping his chest in the best way.
With that, he was gently pushing his hips closer to yours, his length stretching you inch by inch. As your lips parted, a soft sigh escaping, he dropped his head beside yours and you felt your body exhale at the way he groaned in your ear.
He started slow, pulling out of you gently before pushing back into you, and you could have sworn you’d never felt him this deep before. The way his hands instinctively found their way into your hair, the way his breath on your neck made you shiver, and the way his body rubbed blissfully against your clit, had your body tightening around him.
With your legs still around his waist, pulling him closer with every thrust, you held him tight with your arms around his shoulders, your nails trailing along his skin. “Oh Aaron, ohhhh fuck..” you were breathless again, “you’re so deep.. I love you so much..”
With another quiet moan in your ear, he trailed kisses along your neck, “I love you too, my girl..” His lips captured yours once more, and he swallowed the sounds you made as he began moving faster. With every drag of his length out of your walls, and every passionate thrust forward, you felt yourself getting closer and closer to another climax.
With one more gentle nudge of your body with his, you felt ecstasy wash over you. “Yeahhh, there you go..” he whispered against your neck, “that’s my good girl.. fuck you feel so good..” Your breathing was laboured, as your grasp on his body tightened, holding him impossibly close.
As you slowly began to catch your breath again, he trailed gentle kisses along your neck, and your jaw, before capturing your lips with his once more. And once you felt like you’d recovered enough, you spoke excitedly, “okay, now it’s my turn..” as you encouraged him to sit up.
Once he was sitting, his back against the couch, you straddled his lap, and immediately his hands were on your hips. With your panties still pulled to the side, you reached behind your back and undid the clasp on your bra. You took pleasure in watching the way his eyes were glued to your chest as you pulled the material off your body and tossed it aside.
With his hands reaching up to cup your breasts, he gently twirled your nipples between his fingers, causing your back to arch instinctually. Unable to resist any longer, you reached down between your bodies and lined him up with your core once again, before sinking down on his length.
Repeating your motions from earlier, his hands gravitated towards your hips yet again, as you began rocking back and forth. Desperately wanting to hold him close, you leaned your chest against his and wrapped your arms around his broad shoulders.
The quicker you moved, the closer he got to the edge, and through gritted teeth he confessed, “I’m so close.. sweetheart I’m going to cum..”
With one final rock of your hips, you lifted your body off his and immediately reached down to grasp him in your hand. Resting your forehead against his, you spoke softly, “yeah? Go ahead.. cum for me my love..”
With your soft fingers wrapped around him, moving up and down sensually, it wasn’t long before his body was reaching its high. With a deep moan rumbling in his chest, his hips stuttered and you smiled at the soft grunts that escaped his lips. With his hands still grasping your hips, fingertips digging into your skin, his hips bucked instinctually a couple times as he spilled his release across his abdomen. You continued with your motions until you felt the tell-tale shiver of it being too much run through his body.
He dropped his head back against the couch, a deep sigh consuming his chest, as you leaned forward and placed tender kisses along his jaw. He took a moment to simply enjoy the bliss that clouded his mind, before kissing your lips tenderly.
Once his heart rate began to slow, and he could finally catch his breath again, he stated quietly, “you didn’t.. I’m, I’m sorry.. I couldn’t last long enough for you to have another..”
Shaking your head in response, you laughed gently, “oh, no Aaron, it’s okay..” it was your turn to place a loving kiss against his forehead, “you’ve already given me my fair share..”
He objected once again, “no, you can give me one more, I know you can..” He was quick to slide one of his hands over your thigh and between your legs. You felt heat rise in your cheeks at his persistence, so you didn’t try to stop him, as his fingers found their way along your folds yet again. The soft moan you let out at the contact only urged him on.
With your hands planted firmly on his chest again, and your eyes connected with his, you lifted your hips a little father, just as he slipped two fingers inside you. The sounds that left your lips drove him wild, as he began with those same curling motions deep within you, his thumb strategically placed on you clit.
It didn’t take much for him to get you going again, and the smile on his face made your heart flutter. “I can feel you, sweetheart.. you’re close again aren’t you?”
A soft, “mhm..” was all you could get out, as your eyelids slowly closed, giving into the pleasure.
You leaned forward and rested your forehead against his, as he kept up with those same glorious motions between your legs. Before you knew it, you felt that same euphoria reach its peak. As your fourth orgasm of the night ripped through your body, it took everything in you not to completely collapse on top of him. Your legs shook, and your breath caught in your throat, but he didn’t stop, wanting to draw it out as long as possible.
Sliding your hands up, you gripped his shoulders tight as pleasure consumed you. When it finally reached the point of too much, you breathed out his name, “Aaron..” and he swiftly pulled his fingers out.
Collapsing into his lap, you wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him close, sighing heavily. He laughed breathlessly against your chest, his arms circling your waist and holding you close. You both sat there for what felt like an eternity, his palms running along your back comfortingly, as you placed lazy kisses against his neck.
Breaking the silence, he whispered, “Happy Valentine’s Day, sweetheart.”
Trailing your kisses along his jaw, you captured his lips with yours tenderly, “Happy Valentine’s Day, my love.”
With another gentle kiss against your lips, he leaned back to look in your eyes, one hand coming up to rest on the side of your face, “let’s get cleaned up.”
You laughed softly, “okay.”
Standing from the couch, he made sure to hold your hands tight, knowing your legs would be a little unsteady in the aftermath of everything you’d just experienced. Once he was standing, he gently encouraged you to lead the way with a nod of his head. Still holding one hand in yours, he trailed close behind you as you made your way to your ensuite bathroom.
You quickly threw your hair into a messy bun, before starting the bath, checking to make sure the water was warm enough, and adding some of your favourite bubble bath. As you turned back to face him, he crouched down in front of you and slowly pulled the panties that you were still wearing down your legs, discarding them in the sink to be washed by hand later.
Grabbing a small wash cloth, he held it under the running water before kneeling in front of you once more. He gently grasped your ankles one at a time, and lifted them to rest your foot on his thigh. Each time, he guided the warm cloth up the inside of your leg, before focusing on your thigh. Finally, he very carefully ran the warmth along your folds, two, three, four times, just to make sure you were comfortable.
Placing a gentle kiss against your knee, he finally set your foot back down before standing. He used the wash cloth to clean his own thighs, before finally wiping his release off his stomach, and tossing the cloth in the sink as well.
Facing each other once again, you reached your arms out to him, and he smiled softly, pulling you into his embrace and holding you tight. He kissed the top of your head, and whispered against your hair, “thank you for the gift, sweetheart. Thank you for trusting me, and thank you for allowing me to love you.”
Looking up at him, you stood on your tiptoes and kissed his lips tenderly, wrapping your arms even tighter around him. “Anything for you, Aaron.”
With a gentle kiss to your forehead, he finally released you from his grasp, before leaning down to shut the water off. With one hand holding yours, he kept you steady while you stepped over the side of the bath and settled under the bubbles. Sliding back, you made room for him in front of you, and in no time he was lowering himself into the water facing you.
Another tight squeeze, but it was something else you’d done countless times before and was now second nature. Sliding your legs alongside each other, you both leaned back against opposite ends. With your elbow resting on the side of the bath, you leaned your head against your hand and stared at him lovingly.
The soft smile that graced your lips caused a flustered grin to spread across his face, “what are you thinking about?”
Your smile grew as you admitted, “how happy you make me.”
The love he felt for you in that moment completely took his breath away. With a sharp exhale, his eyes trailed from the messy bun top of your head, down to your lips, along your arm that was resting on the side of the bath, and finally to the gold necklace still hanging around your neck.
When he finally looked back up at you, you simply gazed into each other’s eyes as he attempted to gather his thoughts. He opened his mouth to speak, but was ultimately unable to; he found himself utterly speechless. All he wanted to do was hold you.
He carefully readjusted so his legs were on either side of your hips, and guided your feet over his thighs, pulling you close as you settled your legs around his waist. With your bodies tangled together once more, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders, as one of his hands rested on your lower back, the other gently cupping the side of your face. His thumb ran back and forth across your cheek, as he placed a kiss to your forehead, then on the tip of your nose, before finally capturing your lips with his.
Pulling back slightly, he gazed into your eyes longingly and whispered, “I love you so much. I can’t imagine life without you by my side.”
Your eyes smiled back at him, and you kissed him gently before responding, “I guess that makes two of us.”
He laughed softly at your words, pulling you even closer and resting his forehead against yours.
It wasn’t long before you were both readjusting once more, so your back was leaning against his chest, his arms wrapped tight around your shoulders. As he nuzzled his head beside yours, you both stayed there for quite a while, on the verge of falling asleep, until he gently nudged you. The bubbles were long gone, and you had to admit the water was definitely starting to get cold.
Once you were both out of the bath and dried off, you followed him out to your bedroom where you slid on a pair of underwear and he pulled on some boxers and a t-shirt. In no time, he was grabbing one of those quarter zip sweaters he knew you loved so much and turning to you. “Here you go, sweetheart,” he spoke quietly as he helped you slide the soft material over your head.
In the warm glow of the bedside lamp, his heart swelled at how exquisite you looked; he couldn’t wait to curl up in bed and fall asleep with you in his arms.
The way he looked at you wasn’t lost on you, and you asked sheepishly, “what?”
He blinked slowly, nothing but love radiating from the warm smile on his face. Closing the gap between you, he gently lifted your chin so your attention was on him, as he gazed into your eyes longingly. “Oh it’s nothing really..” he teased softly, “it’s just, I love you is all..”
You felt your chest tighten, and you breathed deep as your body attempted to process the joy that consumed you. There was something about this moment, something about the love you’d just shared, and the vulnerability of the evening, that had you falling even deeper in love with him.
Standing on your tiptoes, you connected your lips with his tenderly, wrapping your arms around his waist and holding him close. When you finally pulled away, you lingered, brushing your nose against his playfully, “I love you, too..”
You could hear the smile that spread across his face, as he let out a soft laugh, cupping your face in his hands. Placing a gentle kiss against your forehead, he spoke once more, “come on, let’s get some sleep.”
With his hand on your lower back, he lead you over to the bed before pulling back the covers for you. In no time he was shutting the lamp off and climbing in beside you, rolling onto his side and reaching his hands out to you. You didn’t hesitate, tucking your arms into your chest like you always did, and allowed his strong arms to encompass your body. As he held you tight against his chest, you nuzzled your head under his chin and tangled your feet with his.
Your eyes slowly closed, and it wasn’t long before you were drifting off to sleep. The way your body relaxed in his grasp, and the way your chest rose and fell a bit heavier than it had minutes earlier, were telltale signs that you were fast asleep.
He placed a tender kiss on the top of your head, and although you couldn’t hear him, he whispered against your hair, “I’m going to marry you one day..” before closing his eyes and succumbing to his own weariness.

Generally speaking, light can serve as a symbol of life.
When there is light, it touches and beautifully blinds with bright, shimmering hope. But for you, your eyes have cast any ray of shining light away. And your entire view has been enveloped in the arms of darkness.
If light is a symbol of life but you and your soul are being carried on a ferry across the river of Styx towards the underworld…then is it safe to assume you are no longer living?
Have you truly died on the inside?
And this is your stygian reality?
Because now, in your world, light no longer exists.
You’re thankful for those people who know how to naturally calm others down. Those people who remain collected during a crisis. Those people who can snap someone out of there demise even when they’re rattled as well. Those people who remind you to breathe even when they’ve forgotten.
Well, Subin is not one of those people.
“He knows we’re coming, right?” Subin aggressively tries to exit the parking lot of the market, her eyes going everywhere yet you aren’t so sure she’s even seeing properly.
“I—I talked to the nurse, s-she said to come now. The doctor should be free…fuck, I hope.” You look out the window, your head spinning while your chest grows tighter and tighter.
Breathing with calm, even breaths is hard.
It’s even harder because Subin is tense, her fingers wrapped tightly around the steering wheel as she tries to catch her own breath.
She’s always been the type to cry when others cry. Panic when other’s panic. So on and so forth.
You try your hardest to take a breath before speaking, “Can you drive?” You rest the side of your head against the window, your vision looking blurrier and darker. “J-Just pull ov—”
“—Shit, I’m so sorry, y/n.” Subin’s voice shakes, her eyes trying so hard to stay focused on the road. “I’m okay. I’m okay. You’re okay?” She quickly glances at you, “You’re okay, right?”
You rest your palm against your rapid heart, eyes squeezing shut at the pain and discomfort your chest is feeling. You need to breathe. Relax.
“I-I’m fine.” You say as composed as you possibly can. “Water? Water? Do you…do you have water in here…?” You tiredly lean your head back, chest rising and falling quickly. “I feel sick.”
“Sick?” Subin clears her throat, though she’s panicking herself, she tries to get her shit together. “Like how?” She glances at you again, “I think there’s a bag behind your seat. Throw up in it if you need to….”
“Water, Subin.” You feel your throat closing in on you, “Do you have—”
“—Um,” Subin keeps one hand on the steering wheel while the other frantically feels the sides and below her car seat. “I think there’s a bottle…” She continues to search, the car slightly swerving but you hardly notice. “Here!”
You manage to open your eyes, sudden relief filling your veins when you see a half empty bottle of water. Subin pushes it towards you before she’s urging you to have some.
“Drink slowly.” She keeps a worried eye on you while driving as quickly as she can to the hospital.
The moment water begins trickling down your throat, you feel the dizziness that’s consumed you start to subside.
With half of that bottle of water in your system, your vision is less blurry and less dark.
Literally speaking, darkness doesn’t have a veil over your eyes any longer.
But figuratively speaking, not even an ounce of light shines in your world at all.
You still can’t breathe. Because how could you?
How could you with the knowledge you currently have?
You’re convinced you’re having a heart attack…Doctor Lee, however, isn’t convinced about that.
“You’re just panicking.” He tells you softly, his eyes trained on your expressions. “It’s okay. This is completely normal, y/n.”
You quickly shake your head, refusing to accept that it’s only your emotions here that are the problem.
“This is normal…” He reminds you again, a gentle hand patting your back. “Once you accept that this is normal, it’ll get easier to control it. You’re overwhelmed and that’s okay.”
“I-I can’t breathe.” You manage to tell him, fingers tugging at the collar of your shirt. You wish you could tear off your clothes, your skin, all the feelings that bombard you.
“You can breathe.” Doctor Lee brings his hand towards his own body, he motions upward now with both hands as he urges you to inhale deeply. “You’re breathing right now. You’ve been breathing this whole time…even when it was hard, you’re still breathing, y/n.”
He’s…right. Since the market, since the car, since waiting for Doctor Lee to show up in this tiny room—you’ve been breathing the entire time.
You try to nod, swallowing hard but it hurts.
Actually, it seems the physical pain is disappearing while emotional pain begins to sink it’s teeth into you. Pain is pain, you realize.
“Good,” Doctor Lee keeps his focus on you, “Can you give me a deep breath?”
You nod, trying your hardest to inhale a breath but it’s sharp and poisoned.
Your eyes slam shut, your entire body closing in on itself.
“Try to let go of a long breath for me,” Doctor Lee’s voice is soothing, “Feel everything. Gather all of it…and let it go with a long, long breath. Can you do that?”
Feel everything and let it go? How could you do that?
“I can’t.” You shake your head, eyes still slammed shut. “I just can’t.”
“You can.” He tells you, voice still calm. “I’m not asking you to sort through all your emotions right now and just let them go. No,” Doctor Lee sighs out for a moment before he’s pulling his chair out right in front of you and taking a seat. “I’m just asking you to recognize you have them and release them for a moment. That way you can gain more strength for when you eventually have to grab them again. You can’t get stronger if the panic you feel burdens you, y/n. Let’s breathe…”
You open your teary eyes, teeth digging into your bottom lip as harsh breaths make your entire body grow weaker. Doctor Lee looks pleased just at the fact you’ve opened your eyes. He nods his head with a tender smile before he starts breathing with you. In and out. Slow and rest assuring.
You aren’t sure how long it takes for you to have calm breaths again.
Doctor Lee doesn’t rush you. He gives you time and space to collect yourself. He’s aware that you are here because some memories have flooded your brain. And he’s aware that it had you drowning. He has told you countless times to reach out to him the moment something like this begins. You guess he anticipated this kind of reaction.
“Just in case, I still want to run some tests. I’ll get nurse Choi to do labs.” Doctor Lee is scribbling onto his clipboard, but his eyes are still on you. “I know today has been scary for you but I’m sure your results will be fine. It’s always better to be a little more precautious, don’t you think?”
Your limbs are weak, draped over this uncomfortable chair as you give Doctor Lee a noncommittal nod. All of your energy has been drained from your body. Leaving you weak and helpless.
Doctor Lee’s pen comes to a slow stop, his lips turning down as he eyes you. “Hey,” He calls out slowly, your eyes barely lifting to him. “I’m afraid it’s going to be like this…overwhelming. Scary. Emotionally, physically draining.”
You stare at him with empty eyes.
“But this is a good sign, y/n….” He says and you can tell he isn’t necessarily happy to say it. “Your memories are in there and they’re going to start leaking out…and it won’t always be easy.”
You muster what little energy you have to scoff to yourself, “No kidding.”
“It just…it means that the chances of all your memory returning is a lot greater. They can all return to you.” He says much softer. You don’t respond though, making Doctor Lee sigh out in defeat before he’s placing the clipboard down. “This first time will probably be the hardest. It’s the first time you’re receiving new information.”
Your eyes meet his when he says that. Your brows slowly pull together as you think about it. “Well, kind of.” You admit to him. “I remembered a cat…” the space between your eyebrows creases further as you try to make things make sense in your head. “Actually…I have a question.”
Doctor Lee nods immediately, his attentive eyes on you. “What is it?”
“Is it possible to remember some things but not others?” You ask, but shake your head as soon as you ask it. “I mean…for example, I remember a cat that I shouldn’t remember. I only remember the cat though. I don’t remember anything else about the timeline of this cats life. You know, the things happening around this cat.”
Doctor Lee furrow his own brows, trying his best to make sense of what you’re asking.
You try to explain further, “I remember this cat. But I don’t remember that at the same time as this cat, I was also married.”
It seems it finally clicks, his mouth falling a little open as he nods. “I understand.”
“It’s just…the thing I remembered today…I remember certain details but there’s so much still missing.” You pause, the gloomy pressure once again in your chest but you take a deep breath. “Is it…” You meet Doctors Lee’s gaze again. “Is it possible that my brain blocked out an entire person in my memory? But I…” You can feel the tightness returning. “I….I have memory of this person existing within things but I don’t have actualrecollection of this per—person.”
You shouldn’t feel ashamed the moment you see Doctor Lee’s eyes fill with pity.
“You know,” He clears his throat, blinking away the pity he feels for you. “The brain is truly such a complex thing. Your memories might come to you with no warning and things might not always make sense. Eventually, you might be able to piece some together. And yeah, I’d say it’s entirely possible not to have all the knowing details when you remember an event.”
“Then—”
“—But don’t be discouraged that things will always stay that way. Like you’re going to live your life solving some puzzle.”
Your eyes sting the moment he says that. You’re realizing how true that feels for you…like you’re just a player apart of some game. But you aren’t even sure you have all the puzzle pieces to even play.
“As overwhelming as it is, this is a good sign. Your memories will most likely return. And maybe even soon.”
You realize he’s saying this as if it’s a positive.
But you aren’t so sure that you even want them to return anymore.
“It might take Nurse Choi a little while to get your labs started…she’s doing some rounds right now.” Doctor Lee takes a look at his watch, “But I can grab your friend from the waiting room if you’d like me to? You’d be less bored waiting in here.” He smiles.
Though you cannot return his smile, you agree.
~
You know Subin is in this tiny room with you. You watched when one of the nurses brought her in. But even still, you jump in your chair when she calls out for you. Her worried eyes glued to you but you’ve barely noticed. Too busy sorting through the things you’ve seen in your head.
“Are you…” Subin’s voice is delicate over the harsh and rough thumping of your heartbeat. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
You are okay. Because you weren’t experiencing a heart attack.
But are you okay? No, not at all.
You keep staring at nothing and Subin can do nothing but worry in the chair next to you. Her eyes anxiously darting around while you tap your foot against the floor impatiently.
“y/n…” Subin says your name softly, her concern overflowing. “You—”
“—Exactly.” You give a curt nod, “They must be real.”
Subin frowns when she realizes you aren’t listening to her.
“They have to be real because…” You tear your gaze away from the abyss and bore your eyes into Subin’s. “She said my name, Subin.”
Subin tilts her head, gears working in her head but her confusion only grows. “What?”
“I just…” You drop your eyes back to the floor, focusing on nothing again. “I keep thinking that maybe my brain is making up the things I saw in my head.” You say quietly, your words feeling heavy on your tongue. “It wouldn’t be a first time…” You try to reason, more to yourself. You recall the boat, the lake, the scream, the shadow…what was real and what wasn’t? “I keep trying to think that my brain is just throwing out theories again.”
Subin shifts in the uncomfortable chair, “What…what do you mean?”
You sigh, a hand rubbing at your face tiredly. “I’m thinking of reasons.”
“Reasons?”
You drop your hand to your lap, an uneasy expression falling over your face as you glance at your friend. “A reason not to hate Jungkook.”
Subin’s eyebrows immediately pinch together, “W-Why?”
You close your eyes for a moment, trying your best to take a deep breath. You hate that your heart feels miserable in your body right now. It’s screaming and it’s crying. Your heart’s loud, pathetic sobs are bouncing off the walls of your ribcage and you don’t know what to do to put it to rest.
“I have nothing.” You whisper. A heavy feeling begins clinging to you like a cloak you cannot shrug off. “I have no excuses for him.” Your voice cracks, eyes still closed. “I know why I blame him for Haru and I know why we divorced.”
“What? Why?” Subin is suddenly more alert. You hear the way her chair screeches across the tile as she brings herself closer to you. “Are you sure? What…what is it?”
You finally open your eyes, head tilted back as you stare up at the ceiling now. “Nabi.”
It’s silent for a moment. You wonder if Subin heard you or not so you finally turn your head to face her but she looks even more confused.
“Nabi?” She finally gets the name out in question. She tries to think about it but after a moment she gives up. “Who’s that?”
“The girl from that café you like.” You tell her, “She was our server the first time we went together.”
Subin sits back in her chair, her brain trying to understand what you’re saying. “Okay…a girl from the café is why—”
“—I knew I knew her.” You cut her off, eyes going back to nothing as you focus on Nabi. “She was so familiar and I had no clue why. But she said we didn’t know each other. And I am almost so certain she never heard my name.”
Subin shakes her head, leaning towards you. “And then what?”
“Then I ran into her at the store and I saw so many things.” You get the words out quickly and stop just as fast. You saw a lot of things. Too many things. “I…” You try to speak again but your throat is burning and you heart is crying again.
“You think she had something to do with Haru?” Subin asks you, concern clear in her voice.
“I…” You pause again. Your chest is feeling tight all over again but you can’t risk losing your ability to breathe now. “She also has to do with my failing marriage.” You keep your eyes low.
“Your marr…” Subin’s words get quieter before her hand goes to your shoulder, “Are you saying that Jungkook knows her?”
You scoff, trying your best to remain calm. But your voice betrays you, “Considering he was cheating on me with her then yeah, I-I would say so.”
You’re startled when Subin is standing from her chair, concerned eyes forcing themselves to you, “Woah, woah. You don’t really think…” She shakes her head, rejecting the entire idea. “No, you are not saying Jungkook—”
“—I don’t want to be saying that, Subin.” You snap at her, your eyes growing watery as your voice shakes. “But that’s what I’ve—I’ve seen. M-my brain showed me so much and that’s why I…why I keep thinking maybe they aren’t actual memories. That I don’t actually know her.” You feel you are starting to lose control again, your breaths coming out faster. “But Subin,” Your face twists and your heartache is seen. “She said my name. She knows my name. She knows who I am.”
Subin takes a seat again, unsure of what to say.
“If we know each other…then it means maybe what I saw was…” You swallow hard but not choking on your words is fucking hard. “It was m-maybe real then.”
“But I mean…are you really sure though?” Subin rests a hand over your shoulder. “I’m sorry but…is what you’re seeing…you know, reliable?”
You feel yourself grow weak and small in this chair. Your body slumping over and slightly sliding down as you try to think of a proper response.
“I mean,” Subin’s fingers give you a comforting squeeze, “I’m not saying we shouldn’t trust what you’ve seen…but it’s a tricky situation.”
You know you are dying inside. Truly, even if a flickering light that might have been keeping you alive until this moment has shut off. Because you wish you could agree with her and let that thought alone comfort you. But again, you aren’t ignorant. And you won’t start now.
“No, they’re memories.” You tell her, eyes on the ground. “I know they are. I feel them.”
Subin’s hand drops from your shoulder, a sad and soft ‘oh’ spills quietly from her mouth.
You try to straighten up in the chair, letting a deep sigh roll off your body. “But until I talk to Jungkook…I can’t really confirm it. Even though I know. I need to talk to him.”
“Can I…” Subin scoots her chair closer to you again, the legs pushed against the legs of your chair. “Can I ask what you saw? Why you think that…that Jungkook was having an affair? And what does it…” She softly trails off, her voice clearly unsure.
“And what it has to do with Haru?” You finally face your friend with sad, blood shot eyes. “He was with herwhen Haru was supposed to get p-picked up.” You continue to stare at Subin, her heart breaking when she sees how you try to hold back tears. “Isn’t it crazy that I know that? That I know about Haru? But I don’t fucking…” You stop when your throat burns too much, words refusing to leave your mouth. You fight through it regardless and finish what you are saying with broken words and a broken heart. “B-But I don’t f-fucking know him?”
Subin eyes you with pity and you’re sure you’ve received this all before.
“I remember seeing them together. Multiple o-occasions.” You admit to your friend, voice shaky. “It’s hard to tell though…from my memory if it was in person or pictures, videos, I don’t know. I know I confronted him and he just…” Your expression twists miserably. “He could n-never prove to me that my assumptions weren’t—weren’t right.”
“But that doesn’t me—”
“—M-Motel rooms…so many f-fucking secrets, Subin.” You finally properly choke on your words because of a quiet sob in your throat. “A pregnancy test?”
“A what?” Subin’s face falls, “A preg—no, maybe you—”
“As much as I want to believe Jungkook w-wouldn’t…” You slam your eyes shut and finally, several warm tears manage to fall from your closed lids. “But there is so much evidence against him and he could n-never fucking prove...”
“Okay, okay.” Subin’s sweet voice turns even more soothing, her hand returning to your shoulder. “I’m so sorry, y/n.” She whispers, “Seriously…I wish this wasn’t…”
“No,” You straighten up again, your hands desperately wiping at your face. “I won’t mourn y-yet when I haven’t talked to Jungkook.”
Because somehow…even with your bones screaming the truth at you.
You still want to believe in him.
At least until you are forced not to.
~~~
Subin parks right in front of your house, her worried eyes going between you and Jungkook’s car that is also parked here.
“We left for the grocery store and came back emptyhanded…” Subin nibbles her lips, her concern growing. “What if he’s like ‘why don’t you have my chips?’ or something…”
You slowly turn your head to eye Subin, eyes narrowing at her before you deadpan, “Then I’ll just ask him why he cheated on me.”
Subin’s mouth immediately falls open.
“Or something.” You say before unbuckling your seatbelt. “Anyway, thanks for taking me to the hospital…might end up there again,” You glance out the window towards your home. “Depending how this conversation goes…”
“y/n…” Subin’s hand lands on your shoulder, stopping you from opening the passenger door to get out, “I just…want to say again how sorry I feel…” Her hand slowly drops when she notices your distant gaze and then she quietly clears her throat. “I hope it’s not what you think but regardless…I’m here for you.”
You finally meet her eye and you can see her sincerity but the best you can do for her right now is give her a small nod of appreciation before you’re opening the door.
And even though the car door feels heavier than you recall, you still get it open. But your body almost refuses to move. Once again, your brain is sending signals. Telling your body not to go in there. Because you won’t like it. Your brain, mocking you again. Keeping secrets from you because it’s playing some kind of sick and twisted game.
You’d think your brain was helping you, because of all the signals, but you know that isn’t the case. You know it’s just trying to get a scare out of you because why else would it keep your memories away if not to play with you?
“Hey,” Subin calls out softly, “You can do this…”
And she’s right. You can.
~
Walking through your front door, you have to keep reminding yourself silently over and over to stay strong. Though the urge to break down, falling to the floor while misery consumes you wholly is strong but you don’t. Because you can’t. It would be a bit premature to have the full on meltdown your body is begging for because you still need to face Jungkook.
The moment you close the front door and begin slipping your shoes off, your nose is suddenly invaded with a savory aroma. You glance up, eyes in the direction of the kitchen when you finally realize Jungkook must be cooking. It smells good, you guess. But no matter what is cooking in the kitchen, it’s not good enough to take away any of the pain you are currently feeling.
“y/n?” You hear your name being called. Jungkook’s voice is one you’re used to, one you find comfort in, one you love—so why did you flinch? Why is your body warning you? Signals from your brain again? That fucking dickhead brain of yours. You stand up straight again, eyes still in the direction of the kitchen when you try to take one long, deep breath.
“y/n!” You flinch again. Frozen in your spot, unable to make your feet mood forward. You stare at the wall ahead and anticipate Jungkook turning the corner and seeing you. You anticipate seeing his face and you anticipate the instant dread you will feel upon seeing him.
“y/n!” He sings your name cutely this time.
Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.
You finally let out an incredibly shallow breath because Jungkook finally appears from the kitchen, his face lit up in excitement when he meets your eye.
“Hey!” He walks towards you, his hand sliding across the top of the sofa as he gets closer, his eyes glancing around. “Subin in the bathroom or something?”
You need to breathe.
“—Well, since you’re making me my favorite homemade cookies,” He continues chatting with a grin, excited glint so obvious in his eyes. “Which are a dessert. I figured I could make dinner.” He turns to look towards the kitchen, sheepish expression on his face. “I’ve made this dish a hundred times but…” He turns to meet your eye again, his hand lifting to scratch the back of his neck, “Only after we were married. So it will be new for you. But um,” He looks down, sheepish smile still on his face. “It’s actually Haru’s favorite.”
You haven’t moved a single muscle.
You haven’t said a word.
You have barely had an audible breath.
Still, Jungkook looks happy in his own world when he brings up your son.
Your son that you can’t even remember.
“I figure I could share some more stories tonight…about us, Haru…” Jungkook keep his eyes on his feet, still scratching the back of his neck. Almost looking shy. “Well, of course if you think you c…could…” Jungkook trails off when he finally lifts his eyes towards you but he isn’t met with same you that left for the store a few hours ago. He’s met with a you that he almost recognizes. Like he’s seen this expression before. On the you, that only he really knows.
“y/n?” His brows slightly pinch together, confusion draping over his features. “Are you…” He glances around again, “Where’s Subin? And where’s the things from the store?”
Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.
You didn’t realize you were capable of being a coward.
You want to move your feet. You want to open your mouth to speak. Hell, you want to blink. But you aren’t capable of anything. Except being a fucking coward.
Because you are afraid. You’re terrified. For more reasons than you can count.
You’re imprisoned, once again.
“Hey,” Jungkook studies your face, his concern evident. “What’s going on?”
Feeling a bit hesitant, Jungkook still walks closer to you. His concern only growing because you still don’t move, you still don’t make a sound, you still stare at him with wide eyes.
You stare at him and you only have one repeated thought that wanders around in your head. How easy would it be? How easy would it be to live ignorantly? The thing you have always refused to do. How easy would it be? How easy would it be to pretend your ‘memories’ are just theories that you brain is throwing out for fun? How easy to only trust Jungkook. And not yourself.
“y/n…” Jungkook’s eyes fill with worry. “Are you…” He lifts a hand towards you and you watch as it rises towards your face but your entire body jolts when you hear a loud slapping sound. Your dry lips finally part and you’re blinking repeatedly. You shoot your eyes to Jungkook’s face, only to see his expression completely twisted.
He stands frozen in front of you, hand still hangs in the air as his eyebrows pull together and his jaw hangs slack.
Your eyes go from his face to his hand when you lower your eyes to stare at your own hand.
You slapped his hand away.
Your brain sent signals to your body and that was the result.
So, no. To answer your question—it wouldn’t be fucking easy.
You both stand here, shocked by your own action.
Jungkook’s confusion only grows deeper, his hand slowly lowering to his side again when he takes a small step back. “Oh.” He says softly, the hurt is in his voice and it makes you wince. Or cringe. You aren’t sure which.
You try to open your mouth so words can force their way out but instead you notice the feeling of pins and needles start to poke at your skin. Your fingers, your toes, your lips. Confused, you bring your fingers to your mouth, fingers barely grazing over your bottom lip where it tingles uncomfortably. You drop your hand, curling your fingers in and out as you try to make sense of what’s happening.
You stare down at yourself, your chest rising and falling quickly.
When did you start breathing again?
And when did you start breathing this rapidly?
You glance around, feeling trapped because you’re sure this room is closing in on you. Everything is beginning to feel close and suffocating, like the walls are inching closer and closer, caging you in so you can suffer. Harsh, heavy breaths are pushing past your lips now. Panicked eyes going everywhere but Jungkook. Your throat…it’s closing in on you. Just like your walls. Your throat is growing smaller and smaller, your hands quickly flying to your neck and chest, as you touch yourself desperately.
“y/n.” Jungkook is in front of you again, his eyes totally focused on you and his worried eyes grow antsier. “Hey, what is happening?” His voice sounds rushed, panicked even. “Talk to me.”
You can’t talk though. You can’t swallow your own spit. You can’t even breathe.
“y/n.” Jungkook reaches for you again, both his hands on your arms but you flinch immediately, your blown out eyes landing on him when you shove him off.
“Don’t fucking touch me!” You scream out, voice shrill and uneven. “D-Don’t fucking touch me, Jungkook.” You take several wobbly steps back, your breaths still rough and rapid.
Jungkook’s hands hang in the air, holding nothing but the ghost of your body he once knew.
His eyes are boring into the empty space and you see how utterly hurt he looks.
But you don’t have it in yourself to feel compassion for his confusion. Because right now, you only see Nabi’s face in your mind, along with Jungkook’s right next to her.
You wish you could control how your mind and body are feeling right now because if it were up to you, you would be calm and confronting Jungkook with ease because you are supposed to trust him. But you can’t control your anxiety, your panic or your dread.
Slowly lowering his arms, Jungkook tries to find your eyes with his and you notice the fear plaguing them. “y/n…” He tries your name, the word falling soft and cautious from his lips. “What’s going on?”
You squeeze your eyes shut for a moment, tingly lips and fingers making you feel even more strange as quick breaths force their way out of you. You need to relax. Fucking relax. You need to get it together so you can dismiss the images in your brain and fall into the arms of the man in front of you because you love him and you trust him. That’s right. Get this conversation over with so you can move on. Because surely, your brain is wrong.
“Um,” You pry your eyes open but your vision is a bit blurry from unfallen tears. “Okay…” You take several deep breaths, trying your hardest so you’ll be able to speak.
“Take your time.” Jungkook says in a whisper. “It’s okay. You’re okay.”
You will be okay. You hope.
“Jungkook.” Your chest still rises and falls with each deep breath. “I-I have to…” You pause, tongue darting out to lick your dry lips. “I…I ran into Nabi at the store.”
Your words aren’t rushed as you say them, in fact, everything feels slow. Even Jungkook’s eyes widening and the fear inside them only grow fiercer seems to happen slowly. Like, the world around you is in slow motion until suddenly it’s not. Jungkook’s eyes quickly shoot down to the wooden floors as you see his mind working in overdrive.
“I know who she is.” You find the courage to say, “I ran into her before…she s-seemed familiar. But today, I suddenly got mem—”
“—What did you see?” Jungkook quickly looks at you again, panic written all over his face. “You probably didn’t—”
“—Did you cheat on…did you ch…” You stop, the words too painful as they sit on your tongue like a knife slicing it apart. “J-Jungkook were you having an—”
“—No!” Jungkook suddenly walks closer to you, his hands desperate to reach for you but he doesn’t. Perhaps, he’s afraid you’ll slap them away again. “Fuck, y/n, I—”
You see his anxiety clear as day and somehow it only makes you feel worse. Your breaths grow slower and something close to despair throws its arms around you and holds you close. “Jungkook,” You don’t want to ask it. You don’t want the answer. “Were…were you with her when Haru was taken?”
Jungkook’s rolls his lips until they’re set in a firm line across his face, his eyes closing for a brief moment and you notice regret sticking to him.
“Were you?” You repeat.
He opens his eyes again and with a quiet voice, he finally responds. “Yes.”
You suck in a sharp breath, but you try to remain as calm as possible. “Okay.” You give a curt nod, “And…have you gone to motels with her?”
He glances up briefly,  jaw clenching, “Yes.”
A stab to your chest, “Okay. B-Before Haru was taken…were…” Your throat burns like acid sticks to the walls, “Were we having problems in our m-marriage?”
Jungkook’s expression twists, scrunching in panic, perhaps. “Yes.” He admits with a shaky voice.
You give a small nod before asking the question that makes or breaks this. “Were you seeing her because of a case?”
Jungkook immediately looks at you, wide, panicked eyes and you see how they fill with tears. His mouth drops open but only a shallow breath comes out. You wait for his answer. Need his answer. He quickly shuts his mouth, head turning to the side as you see him struggle to even look at you now, “No.” He finally says, the word pushed out as if he was in agony. And maybe he is.
He said no.
And just like that, you have your answer. Just like the past, he offers nothing more to ease your mind. No proof that there isn’t an affair happening. You stare at him. Lips parted and eyes blinking slowly.
Your breaths are calm. But you feel weak. Like his simple answer drained every bit of life out of your body. You almost wish you could scream, cry or even through something from the rage that must be inside you.
But it feels like there is nothing inside you.
This betrayal only has you feeling empty.
“You…” Your voice cracks, thick tears bubbling over and falling from your eyes. “You were…”
“y/n.” Jungkook finally looks at you again and he sounds terrified. “Please, please, I am begging you, to please trust—”
“—Trust you? Fine.” You cry out, “Tell me exactly what was going on then. Tell—Tell me everything!” You take a step forward, your voice clearly begging. “Explain the fuck-fucking situation, Jungkook. So I can fucking believe you.”
Jungkook stares at you, confliction in his eyes like how you’ve gotten used to.
“You can’t, right?” You scoff, tears wetting your warm cheeks. “You couldn’t then either. Y-You just can’t fucking tell me the truth, right?”
Jungkook finally breaks. His lips twisting, eyes shutting in frustration and you see his own tears. “y/n please…” He begs too, his hands going to his face, rubbing his tired eyes. “Fuck, please…you need to just….y/n…please just,” He chokes on his words, a quiet sob in his throat. “I can’t d-do this again, please…I can’t do this y/n.” He cries into his hands. “I fucking can’t. I can’t. Fuck fucking everything.”
You watch as he cries for himself. Feeling bad for himself. Pity for himself. Instead of being honest with you, he does this.
“Please trust me. Don’t trust what you’re see—”
“—You’re asking me to trust you but not myself?” You ask in almost disbelief. You might not remember everything but it seems your feelings from that time are still so alive inside you. And that’s what you’re going to trust. “You want me to believe you but not believe prior accident me? That d-doesn’t sit right with me.” You tell him.
“y/n…” He wipes at his eyes and his nose before trying to look at you, eyes afraid and pathetic, “Please don’t do this again…I can’t do this without you again,” He shakes his head, bottom lip quivering. “Please, my love.”
You take a step back, feeling overwhelmed. “D-Don’t call me that.”
It feels strange to be called that by him. Strange yet familiar. And you thought the oddness that accompanied the term of endearment is because you just aren’t used to it yet. But really it’s because he isn’t supposed to be calling you that. Not anymore.
Your teeth dig into your bottom lip, not an ounce of pain felt. “You know,” You cry out in a whisper, “I don’t remember everything. But,” You try to speak through your tears. “But this heartache feels all too familiar. You need to leave…”
And somehow the despair in Jungkook’s eyes and the terror and look of defeat on his face also feel all too familiar.
Because you have both been through this before already.
~~~
It’s been a week since running into Nabi and confronting Jungkook. A week since you’ve cried. A week since you’ve felt anything rumbling inside your body. A week since you’ve left your house. A week since you’ve ate a proper meal. A week since you’ve felt anything beyond an empty despair.
Lying in bed at dawn, you lazily poke at Haru’s robot, the cold plastic on your fingertips. You poke it in the chest, over and over, soft yet determined.
“Do you have a heart in there?” You quietly ask it, somehow disappointed when it doesn’t answer you. “You…” You softly grip the toy, bringing it closer to your chest when you sigh out. “You don’t sleep either, right?”
And in the last week, the only one you’ve really talked to is this robot. Haru’s robot. You believe the comfort you feel from talking and holding this toy is because deep down you feel its familiarity with it being your sons. But also, you find yourself relating to this robot. Both empty, skin cold like plastic and neither of you having the ability to sleep. Only the option to ‘shut down’.
You glance towards the window, the sun rising again like it always does. And you wish it didn’t. You don’t want to see the sun, you don’t want to see any light. How could the world keep on going when for you, personally, it’s ended.
Your phone has been going off all week, your friends and parents expressing their concern for your quiet mood. Your parents don’t necessarily know what’s going on but Misuk and Subin have a better idea, considering Subin was there for the first half. You have asked for space and you’ve manage to let them know every night that you’re still here. Even when you kind of don’t want to be.
Jungkook hasn’t reached out even once.
You don’t want to talk to him but the fact that he’s quiet…it feels even more solidifying that he’s guilty.
And the fact your heart is broken beyond repair and it is so completely familiar to you…tells you he’s been guilty since then.
It hurts. It hurts more than you ever thought possible. Because even with missing memories, you feel how badly this hurts. Even though you don’t fully recall your actual relationship, you feel it. How real it was. How beautiful it was. How tragic it was.
You can feel the pain as if you actually never forgot it.
And that’s why you’re choosing to trust yourself.
You barely react when your phone goes off, eyes lazily sliding over to the device that lays abandoned on the other side of the bed. You debate checking it. But for whatever reason, you reach for it and see it’s only a text from Misuk asking if you’re free today.
You aren’t necessarily ready to face anyone quite yet but still, you tell her yes. You have received a few more memories that you’re piecing together like a jumbled up story and you’d like to talk about them.
~
“Are you…” Misuk eyes you over, pity all over her face as she leans back into the sofa, “You know, eating?”
“Sometimes.” You shrug, “I made an iced coffee today if that counts.”
“It doesn’t.” Misuk sighs out, “Why don’t I order us something? Subin should be here any second so I don’t want to ask her to pick something up when she’s this close by.”
“If you’re hungry, sure.” You shrug again. You keep your eyes lowered, fingers picking at your cuticles.
It’s only a few minutes later when Subin has joined you and Misuk on the couch. Her antsy hands running up and down her thighs as she waits for you to answer her question.
“So?” She softly urges you to respond.
“Yeah,” You reply quietly, eyes on your lap as you look completely detached from the conversation. “My memories were right, I guess.”
You hear Subin release a long breath before she curses, “Shit…”
You shrug, “I guess my miserable life before the accident continues, huh?” You chuckle bitterly, eyes losing focus on anything.
“At first you were.” Misuk whispers, “But lately you had gotten…I don’t know, maybe—”
“—Well, I’m actually probably more miserable than before. Because I have to rediscover everything and feel each little thing…one,” You start picking at your cuticles again, “By one.”
“y/n…” You can hear the pity in Subin’s voice.
“And this time, instead of feeling upset about my probably dead child, I can just feel guilty for not even remembering him. Mother of the year.” You rip back a piece of skin from the corner of your pinky, blood immediately pooling but you don’t care. You move to the next finger.
“y/n.” Misuk says your name in shock, “You don’t believe that for one second.”
You snap your head up, “Believe what?”
“That Haru is—”
“—I don’t even fucking know him.” You spit out. “And maybe it’s best that I never—”
“—You don’t mean that!” Subin cuts in, a soft disappointment in her voice. “I know this is hard and…” She stops talking when you narrow your eyes at her.
“You know how hard this is? Oh, do you?” Your lips turn up at the corner before you nod your head, “This happened to you before? You know what I’m going through?”
“Hey,” Misuk’s voice is scolding, “You know what Subin means.”
“Do I?” You scoff. “Let’s be honest guys,” You look between the two of them. “Do either of you even know me anymore? Do I even know you anymore? You said it yourself,” You look back down to your hands, “We barely speak anymore.”
“We barely speak because of you.” Misuk points out coldly, “You shut us out. And you’re trying to do it again! Like, wow here we go again.”
Your brow arches, almost looking amused. “Again?” You spit the word out. “Well, sorry Misuk, sorry that things fucking suck and I’m not here smiling for you. Again. I barely recall the first time this all happened and you’re mad I’m fucking reacting. Mad that I’m mad. I’m sad. I’m fucking heartbroken!” You cry out the last line. “I love you but maybe let’s not act like a bitch when neither of you know what the fuck I’m going through, hm?” You raise your brows at her with icy eyes.
Misuk’s brows furrow but you see something flash across her face. It’s not anger. You don’t even think she’s offended. Instead you see understanding. She slowly nods her head, glancing at Subin before she clears her throat. “Okay, I’m sorry.” She says quietly, “You’re right…you’re totally right and I’m sorry. I guess…” She pauses.
“We just miss you, y/n.” Subin continues for Misuk, “We’re afraid to lose you again. That’s all. But you’re right, you shouldn’t have to act like everything is okay when it’s not.”
Misuk nods, eyes searching for yours, “And it’s not.” She says softly, “I really am sorry.”
You continue to stare down at your lap, lips pressed into one another.
“If you’re able…why don’t you tell us what you do remember?” Misuk tries to get you to open up again instead of shutting down. You know this. You want to answer…it’s why you let them come over in the first place.
You nod, eyes still lowered. “Okay.”
Subin reaches over and gives your shoulder a squeeze, “Whatever feels manageable. Don’t push yourself too much.”
Finally lifting your eyes towards your friends, you decide to fill them in. “I’ve been remembering a few things.” You admit. “Not actual memories? I don’t know how to explain it. Not…you know, movie scenes in my head but I remember certain things because it’s like…I just know.  Does…does that make sense? No, it probably doesn’t, right?”
“Like you’re remembering facts rather than images?” Misuk asks and you immediately nod your head quickly.
“Yes!” You say with a bit of enthusiasm. “That’s exactly it. So, basically…just things I know about our—Jungkook and I’s—marriage.”
“Oh.” Subin’s eyes are eager to know more.
“Misuk was right. It was rocky.”
“I knew it.” Misuk curses, “You never really outright said it but…I kind of figured. You never were the type to admit something like that since you’re the type to solve things by yourself.”
“I guess I didn’t really solve anything.” You feel your body grow heavier. “I asked Jungkook if things were rough before and he admitted that it was. Since then, it’s like little facts are showing up in my brain out of nowhere…like his admission unlocked some part of my memories or something…”
“Were you two just fighting a lot?” Subin asks.
You try to think about it. It’s not like you remember a specific argument but you know the answer is yes. “Yeah.”
“But you think he was having an affair with…” Misuk glances at Subin, “What was her name again?”
“Nabi.” You say. “But our problems were starting before that, I think. I know we were fighting all the time. I just know. I also know he was keeping things from me. He was barely home anymore and I felt…” You chew on your lips, unsure of what exactly it was since you don’t know everything. But one word keeps popping up in your mind. “Unfulfilled.” You say, the word somehow resonating with you like you’ve said it before.
“Yeah.” Misuk agrees quietly, “You mentioned something like that in the past…way before Haru’s kidnapping.”
“Misuk,” You suddenly find her eyes, “Why did I lead you to believe Jungkook was wronging me somehow?”
“You mentioned someone else.” She tells you, “But you didn’t give me any detail. But you were so…sureabout something and I believed you. Your expression.” Misuk frowns, “I knew something serious must have had occurred because I had never seen you like that.”
You glance back down at your lap, your focus on your hands again. “I see.” Then you lift your eyes again, “I remember that at that time I was suspicious of Jungkook. Of the affair. I know I dug deeper and found things that I wish I never had…” You recall the memories that hit you at the market. “Eventually I confronted him and just like now, he was unable to give me an explanation. And I was right.”
“Fuck, I’m sorry.” Misuk huffs out, eyes going to the ceiling. “That’s terr—”
“—And he was with her. When Haru was taken. I don’t know how I know, but he was supposed to be picking Haru up from daycare. I don’t know why I wasn’t able to but I know that it was something I needed from him…something for him to do to make me feel like he was a part of this family. But he failed.” Your words grow quieter with each syllable. “And I know that for the first time in my life,” You stare at nothing, eyes growing watery. “That I hated someone. With my entire being.”
It's quiet. Neither of your friends having the courage to say anything to your words.
You try to clear your throat and blink back any tears in your eyes before looking at them again, “But still, so much doesn’t make sense and there’s so much still missing.” You feel your heart grow weaker as you chuckle humorlessly, “And Jungkook hasn’t tried to reach out to me even once…which just feels like more proof.”
“I can’t imagine Jungkook even looking at someone who isn’t you…” Subin whispers, “He…well, I guess we don’t ever really know what goes on. I find it hard to hate him but seeing what he’s done to—"
“—I know I truly hated him then.” You cut her off with a shaky voice. “And I think I hate him now, too. But,” You search both of your friends eyes with desperation so depressing, “If I hate him this much it’s because I also,” You choke, “Love him this much too, right?” You ask the question so innocently and delicately as your voice cracks.
 You let yourself feel your own question and for the first time since a week ago—you cry. You let tears fall and you let your body break. “Because—Because I do. I love him so much that its hurting me. I…I can’t even b-breathe because I love him. I can’t—can’t sleep because I love him.” You shoulders shake as you sob loudly. Almost like a child. “I can’t remember my own child be—because I love him.” You slam your eyes shut, mouth hung open as you choke on your sobs. “My brain c-can’t show my memories because I love him. He’s—he’s the only thing my b-brain wants to think about.”
At a loss for words, Misuk and Subin feel their hearts breaking in their chests. This is more devastating than the first time. They realize, you were right, this is more miserable.
~~~
It’s been three weeks since Jungkook has seen you. Since he’s seen you, his light. The only thing in this entire world that could possibly make him feel alive. The only thing in the entire universe that could make his heart beat again. You’re the only one keeping him from going insane or ending his own life. He had always held onto the hope that one day this will be behind you guys.
And then he can touch you again, hold you again, openly love you again.
But mostly, for you to love him again.
His apartment is how it always is, TV blaring with the news on. The blueish light illuminates his entire living room and lately it has been his only source of light. You, his true source, no longer rising in his sky.
It’s around four in the afternoon when Jungkook’s phone starts going off, the vibrating making his coffee table buzz. He rubs his eyes with a fist before setting his nearly empty beer bottle down to the table and reaching for the device.
Jimin.
Jungkook rolls his eyes before answering, “I told you to leave me alone.” He slurs into the phone.
“Are you fucking drunk again?” Jimin doesn’t hide his disapproval. “Going to pull this shit again, Jungkook?”
“Fuck off, Jimin.” Jungkook brings the phone away from his face and ends the call.
Not even ten seconds pass before his phone is buzzing again in his hands. He groans loudly as he answers it again, “What the fuck do you—”
“—Just fucking listen, you moron.” Jimin cuts in, “I’m already risking everything by being in contact with you. And now you’re back to your old ways.” He scoffs, “If you fuck this up, I swear I’ll come to your shit apartment and kick your ass myself.”
Jungkook drunkenly chuckles into the phone, “You don’t have to help—”
“—Help you?” Jimin scoffs again, “I’m not doing this for you and you know it.”
“Whatever,” Jungkook grumbles while reaching for his beer again and taking a swig, “What do you want?”
“Lee Jaesung.” Jimin says.
Immediately Jungkook leans forward on his couch, something more serious falling over his face before he asks, “What about him?”
“Well, he was the only thing getting us closer to this shit.”
“Yeah?” Jungkook sets the beer down again, “Does he have new information?”
“He’s dead.” Jimin informs with a bite to his tone, “Guy was found in his apartment. Apparent suicide.”
Jungkook grits his teeth, “Fucking bullshit.”
“I know.” Jimin sighs, “You’ve been MIA and I need you to get your shit together if we’re going to—”
“—Count me out.” Jungkook slurs into the phone, “I’m done.”
Jimin is quiet for a moment before he’s chuckling into the phone, “You’re really back to this, huh? You’re sad, Jungkook. I told you years ago you were going to ruin your marriage. Didn’t I?”
Jungkook grips the edge of the couch cushion, eyes growing darker as he watches the bright TV screen. “Shut up.” He seethes, “Don’t bring up—”
“—You ruined your entire life you fucking drunk.” Jimin spits at him, “Fix your shit then call me.”
Jungkook keeps the phone to his ear despite the fact that Jimin has hung up. It slides down his cheek and eventually falls to the floor as he continues to stare at the bright screen of his TV. He is here again. And it’s not like he can’t not believe that he’s back to this because it never feels like he ever wasn’t like this. This is just who he is now. It’s the him that he knows. And when you woke up knowing the him he used to know…it almost felt like he could be that person again.
Having to tell you about Haru again…heartbreaking.
But having to see you experience that same betrayal and heartache…pure utter torture.
Jungkook drunkenly reaches for the TV remote and shuts it off, the room going completely dark. His closed blinds and heavy drapes block out the sun that isn’t you. He is in darkness because in his life there is no light.
Because you aren’t here anymore.
~
“Yes, well, believe it or not…” You sigh into your phone, small smile on your lips. “I’m actually getting out of the house today.”
“To eat a real meal?” Misuk asks knowingly.
“Kind of?” You laugh. “I’m in the mood for coffee but like, not from my coffee pot.”
Misuk tsks, “Fine. But at least buy a cookie or something too.”
“Yeah, yeah.” You tell her, “I found a cute café not too far away. Not a full menu place with servers like the one Subin likes—not that she even wants to go there anymore—but this place is like a little hole in the wall. Good reviews too.”
“I wish I could ditch work and join you.” She whines, “But I’ll have to stick to break room coffee.”
“Sounds horrible.”
“Oh, it is.” She laughs, “But okay. I hope you enjoy the café.”
“Me too,” At this point you hope you enjoy anything.
But the world is still dark.
And you’re hoping a nice outing with a good caffeinated drink could offer a little shining light in this complete darkness that consumes you. Even if it’s temporary.
“I’ll talk to you later, Misuk.” You say before you’re both hanging up.
You look ahead, eyes on the building in front of you. You didn’t tell Misuk you’re actually already here but too afraid to get out of your car and walk inside. You aren’t sure why you’re afraid. Maybe it’s because it’s your first real outing since memories started coming to you. Maybe you’re afraid the more places and people you see, it will trigger more to unlock.
And you’re afraid of more truths that you wish would stay hidden would reveal themselves.
It’s hard but you finally manage to get out of your car and force your legs to take you inside. But the moment you step inside and you’re greeted with the smell of coffee and baked good, you immediately relax.
It’s not a busy place at all. It’s small maybe the size of your living room and kitchen combined. Just a long counter with cookies, cakes and breads that smell delicious and an artsy menu board hanging on the back wall with a long list of drinks. And along one of the walls and all the windows is small, round tables with chairs.
You take a breath before walking to the counter and a girl with bright eyes greets you with a heartwarming grin. When you tell her you’ve never been, she happily gestures to the menu and begins telling you all her favorite drinks. And she claims you must try their chocolate cookies.
“Hm,” You weigh all your options, feeling tempted by the lavender tea she mentioned. “Okay yeah, I’ll get that.”
“And a cookie too?” She smiles.
You can’t help but chuckle, it’s as if Misuk told this girl to ask you that. “Sure, a cookie too.”
“Okay!”
After you pay, the girl motions towards a wall with a bookshelf, “Feel free to browse. I’ll have you order up soon and I’ll call for you.”
“Thanks.” You smile.
You decide to take her up on it, eyes browsing this bookshelf while your fingers brush against the spines. There’s some books you recognize and a ton that you don’t. You can tell which books are popular and which aren’t—the dust giving it away.
After several minutes of looking over book titles, the girl calls you over since your drink and cookie are ready. You excitedly go to the counter, hands reaching for the items and your nose is being blessed. You can tell this cookie is about to change your world.
“Thanks!” You say before excitedly and quickly turning around to find a table when you literally run into someone. This needs to stop happening to you. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if—
“Ah, Hot! Hot!” An unexpected voice yelps, “Hooooooooly shit, that’s hot!”
“Oh my god, I am so sorry.” You stare at a broad chest, a button up shirt completely soaked as you begin to panic. “Are you—Are you okay?”
The man in front of you starts airing his shirt out, trying his best for the hot liquid to not burn his chest, you’re sure. “Ooooooh,” He whistles out, “That hurts.”
“Oh my god…I’m…I am so so—”
“—No worries,” He starts laughing, still airing the shirt. “It kind of feels like that first moment when you get under a hot shower.”
You stare at his chest, completely panicked…he’s not going to press charges, right? Is that a thing? You could have seriously burned him! “Are you okay? Seriously—” You finally rip your eyes from his shirt to get a look at him.
“Seriously,” He laughs more, “I’m okay.”
You gaze at him, his smile is spread across his face while he looks down at his shirt now.
“Good thing I keep extra shirts at work.” He says before glancing back up and locking eyes with you. “No harm here.”
You feel guilt sink it. “Oh my god, I hope I didn’t ruin your shirt…will it stain?”
“You’re worried about this shirt?” He laughs loudly while his eyes crinkle cutely. “Wow, my mom would be so happy that at least someone cares about this thing. It was a Christmas present…and I’m pretty sure it was actually meant for my brother.”
You can’t help but snort, “Oh.”
“Literally only wearing it because I’m hoping something will happen to it and I can finally have a reason to throw it away.” He smiles, “And finally,” He looks up at the ceiling and pumps the air with his fists, “I can get rid of it!”
You watch him, unsure if he’s serious or just trying to make you feel better. But either way…it does make you feel better.
“Is it still hot?” You find yourself asking, eyes back on his wet chest.
“Nah,” He waves you off with a goofy grin, “Now it’s sort of just sticking to me uncomfortably and it’s cold now.”
“Oh.” You suddenly feel bad again.
“Which is great because the sun is unforgiving today, don’t you think? So hot.” He begins fanning himself, grin still on his face before he glances down to the package in one of your hands. “Is that a chocolate chip cookie? Those are the best here!”
You look down, “Oh…oh yeah. Um, it is.”
“You should probably eat it, maybe you’ll finally smile. They’re that good.” He winks at you, “Or if you drowning in guilt over here, you could always let me have a piece too and we can call this whole,” He motions between you both, “thing even.”
You stare at him for a moment, completely taken aback by his energy. He’s still smiling and it feels infectious, like you want to smile too.
And you do.
Though it is small and timid. You do.
In all this overwhelming darkness that has wrapped its arms around you, suffocating you in an unwanted embrace…all you really need right now in your life is some sort of light getting shed so you can finally see something besides your own despair.
You just need some light.
And little do you know that a bright, bright light is coming into your life.
And that light has a name.
And he goes by Kim Seokjin.
“What made you love me?”
Juyeon’s sudden question made you stop mid-bite into your food. His tone makes you think he's playing around but when you look up at his face, he has a serious but curious expression displayed.
“So suddenly? Uhm…”
His eyebrows raise in curiosity as he awaits the answer. Mouth parted while he nods gesturing you to go on.
“You're you.”
“Huh?”
“I love you because you're Lee Juyeon”
The male pouts as a blush paints his cheeks, “I wanted to hear specifics. Like, like… you know!”
You chuckle at your lover's reaction and caress his hand on the table. “I'll give you specifics then, alright?”
“More than alright”
“Hmm let's see…”
No.1: “Lee Juyeon is a caring man.”
Date: Feb 14th, 2019.
Valentine's Day 2019. The day you weren't able to go on the date the two of you had planned for weeks because you had a fever.
The two of you have been calling each other all day, hearing the sound of his voice made you feel better each second.
During the whole call you heard rustling in the background but decided not to comment on it until you heard him walk out his house and enter his car.
“Juyeon..? Where are you going?”
“….Nowhere.. where are YOU going…?”
Once he returns the question back to you, the two of you say nothing. The voice of Juyeon’s gps tells you everything you need to know as you hear it say your street name.
“Juyo.. You shouldn't come over, I don't want to get you sick”
“Who said I'm coming over? I'm not coming over, just going somewhere..” He continues to act clueless the whole car ride, dodging questions and comments as he makes his way to your house.
Even as you watch his car pull into the driveway next to your mom's car, Juyeon still tries to act like he isn't at your house.
“Sweetheart, I don't even get what you're saying. I'm at home, is there another handsome, tall, kind, sweet, and did I say handsome man you're seeing?”
The phone hangs up as the doorbell is rung. Outside the window, you can see Juyeon on the steps to the door. Red roses hidden poorly behind his back.
“Oh! Didn't think I'd be seeing you here hon”
“This is my house.”
You sigh as Juyeon happily skips his way into your house, ignoring the sniffles of your nose and coughs escaping your mouth. “Juyeon you really shouldn’t be here. Even if it’s Valentine’s Day.” Opposing to your words, you shut the front door behind you.
“But if I wasn’t here, how could’ve I brought you these flowers?” He pulls out two bouquets of roses from behind his back, “One’s for your mom, because she's so sweet for having to deal with me here everyday”
Juyeon opens his arms with a big smile, “A small cold isn't going to stop me from showing my love for you” Your engulfed in his hold as he rests his head atop yours. “Sadly, I don't think anything will stop you Juyo.”
“Nope!” He pulls his head away just to come back and plant a kiss on your forehead. “Whether you're healthy or sick, I'll always be here beside you.”
No.2: "Lee Juyeon is a romantic man."
Date: Feb 14th, 2021.
Everybody knows what happened this year, no need to explain it. Juyeon was thanking the gods for the fact that the year prior, he came up with the idea for the two of you to move in together.
But there was one problem this Valentine's Day. He couldn't go out to get flowers this year. To him, it's the most important part of the gift. He didn't need to go out to get your gift because he got it a year before. But the flowers! What's February 14th without the surplus of flowers in the air?
A day before Valentine's Day, Juyeon did the last thing he thought he would be doing. Googling last-minute gift ideas for Valentine's Day.
It took an hour for him to find something to replace the missing flowers and it was perfect. Especially since they were easy to personalize. He's lucky they're easy to make too as he finished them while you were sleeping and hid them in his bedside drawer.
“Good morning, Juyo Honey~ Happy Valentine's Day!” You softly kiss his cheek, and he rustled awake at the warm feeling.
He blinks his eyes open and squints as he takes in his surroundings. Once his eyes land on you, they widen, and a soft smile makes its way onto his face.
Juyeon’s hands lay on your cheeks as he brings you closer to him for a soft kiss. “Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart. Sorry I didn't make you breakfast in bed this year, I stayed up making you something last night.” He yawns and does a big stretch.
“Hon, you don't have to apologize.. I'm happy just staying here with you for hours- Wait made? Don't tell me… You made another giant card filled with pictures and glitter??”
“No! Come on, sweetie, you know I try not to repeat gifts. It's something even better,” He turns to his bedside table and reaches into the bottom drawer to get the first gift for you.
A gasp leaves your mouth as you lay your eyes on a bundle of paper flowers made by the man next to you.
“Juyeon! What- I- When did you make these? And how long? Oh my” You sit up, and the bundle is placed on your lap.
“Made it last night after you fell asleep. Only took me about… three hours?”
“I fell asleep at ten… You stayed up till one to finish these?”
“Well yeah, I was missing only the flowers this year. I had to find a way to have them for the day.”
Your face drops at his words, “There’s more..?”
“We're baking a cake together, I got the ingredients delivered.” Juyeon pauses before glancing towards the closet door, a common spot for hiding gifts in the household. “And there's a giant card…”
“Oh no…”
“It's confetti, not glitter this time! So there's a difference!”
No.3: "Lee Juyeon only has eyes for you."
Date: Feb 14th, 2016.
”sent to lee juyeon”
”For: lee juyeon”
”can this go to juyeon?”
Your school was doing a cute Valentine's Day event, pay a dollar or two to send your crush or lover or friend a simple carnation rose. Seems cute on paper, doesn't it?
Yes... But all the work of delivering flowers on Valentine's Day is as stressful as staying in class for the whole day. Who knew flowers could start so much drama?
People coming to the busy student council room and yelling at you because their flower wasn't sent first, couples sending flowers to other people and confessions. Way too many confessions.
Someone at the center of a majority of these confessions is Lee Juyeon. Last year his friends, Younghoon and Hyunjae graduated so now it's like all the confessions piled onto him.
“Flower delivery!” You knock on the classroom door, and the teacher inside gasps at the amount of carnations you and your fellow council member were holding.
“Oh my! Is there one for every student? Why is there so much?”
“All for Juyeon.”
“Oh..”
“We'll be back here don't worry.”
Valentine's Day was never your favorite holiday, why show all your love for someone on one day when you can do it every day?
The door to the student council room slammed open before you could even touch it, another annoyed and entitled student bursts out. Your friends inside sigh at the outburst.
“Oh Y/n! There's something up with this one flower” Yunjin beckons you to the table with notes and letters. “Did you plan on confessing to Juyeon today? Because if so, you made a mistake on the form.”
“Confessing on Valentine's Day? I thought you knew me by now. Let me see this.” Before you can take a look at the note, it's snatched out of Yunjin's hand.
“Eric?!? What the??”
“Oh uhm… I'll go and deliver this flower, hold up.”
“But you're on writing duty! Your handwriting's the best-”
“There’s two piles done!”
Eric runs out the door with the note, grabbing a red carnation to complete the set.
“It's everyday with this kid.. Sorry Y/n but, do you think you can go and bring him back. Easy way to get a small break from delivering flowers”
Yunjin looks at you with a pleading look on her face, and you send a nod and a thumbs up her way as you head toward the door.
Luckily Eric didn't wander far and good thing his voice carries across the hallway as you were able to find him quickly. Oh! He's talking to Juyeon..
“Dude! You're lucky I got a hold of the note before they did-"
“Eric? You keep on running off. What's the excuse this time.”
“Uhhh….” Eric's like a deer caught by the headlights as he thinks about what to say, “This is my excuse” He pushes Juyeon towards you and runs back to the student council room.
“Hi..”
“Hi Juyeon, don't worry, all of your flowers were delivered. You don't have to go home with like three piles of flowers-”
“This is for you,” The boy in front of you holds out the red carnation. He looks away from you with blushing cheeks and shy eyes. “Happy Valentine's Day, Y/n.”
"What the fuck???"
After the initial shock fades away, you find yourself softly smiling at the surprising actions of Juyeon. Hands reach out towards the flower in his hands, “Happy Valentine's Day, Juyeon. Are you free after school?”
“What?!?” His head flinches to your direction and his eyes widen, “Me? I mean, I think so.”
“Juyeon, do you want to go out on a date with me?”
He's left speechless at your boldness, his face almost as red as the flower in your hand.
“Of course!”
No.4: "Lee Juyeon always knows what you need."
Date: Feb 14th, 2022.
“Are you sure you can drive yourself back home?”
“Yes, hon, I'm sure. And I'm already halfway there!”
“Okay okay, just making sure..”
You were currently on your way home from work. Yes, you were working on Valentine's Day, unfortunate, right? Plans had to be rescheduled due to the sudden schedule changes your boss made without warning.
A bouquet of roses rested in the passenger seat next to you. Waiting to be gifted to your lover, “Juyo, When I get home, do you think you can-” Through the phone, a loud crash is heard, followed by a faint ‘oh no!’, “Juyeon.. Are you okay?”
“Sweetheart.. Why are the suitcases on the highest point of the closet..?”
“Because we never go any…where….”
“Oops…” Juyeon hangs up the phone right as you pull up to the house. Your keys rattle in your hand as you unlock the door, roses in the other hand.
Juyeon is nonchalantly sitting on the couch like nothing happened, “Oh hey! How was work?” He gets up to embrace you and plant a kiss on your forehead.
“Hon you can't just ignore what you hinted at just now.”
“Hinted?? What did i hint at? Ha.. Oh, wait! What's that over there??” Juyeon points to a random object behind you, and foolishly, you turn. The bouquet is snatched out of your hand, and Juyeon bolts into the kitchen.
“Juyeon!-”
Laying across the kitchen table were rose petals. They formed a heart around an envelope and your passports. Inside the envelope was confetti and a printed out paper conforming the plane tickets of Juyeon and you to Italy.
“Don't worry, I contacted your boss for the days off. He's actually weirdly nice, asked me if I wanted a job.”
“You.. booked us a flight to Italy…”
“Yeah, sweetheart you've been working so hard these days. You were literally just on shift not even an hour ago, and it's Valentine's Day. My love needs a break, I know there's a bunch of stress bubbling inside that pretty head of yours.”
Juyeon pulls you closer to him, his hand stroking your head, “You've been doing so well, sweetie. I'm here whenever you need me.”
You bring your arms around his waist as you bury your head onto his body. “I don't know what I'd do without you, Juyo.. Every year, you always manage to show me up on Valentine's Day, though.”
“I think it's because I'm better, haha!”
“I'm throwing my luggage at you later.”
No.5: "Lee Juyeon loves you."
Date: Feb 14th, 2024.
“Why'd you ask me that question?”
Juyeon’s eyes start to waver across your face, his hands resting beside him as he leans back into his chair.
“No reason, it's just.. did you notice it yet? The flowers..”
Your eyes land on the flowers sitting on the side of your kitchen table. A mix of red and pink roses fill the vase. One flower sticks out from the rest, a red carnation.
A soft smile appears on your face, and fingers reach out to softly caress the flower. “The first flower you ever gave me.. How sweet” Your hand softly grabs a hold of the flower, pulling it out of the vase.
“No wait!-” Juyeon was cut off by the sound of something falling off the carnation's stem. His hands were quick to grab the object before you noticed what it was. “Uhm…”
“Juyeon… What fell from the stem?”
“What fell from what? Haha.. More like, what's that over there?!?”
“I'm not falling for that again.”
“Oh.”
Juyeon sighed and mumbled under his breath, “You know what, I was going to wait till after we finish eating, but why wait any longer.”
He stands up from his seat and makes his way around the table until he's right by you. The male grabs ahold of your hand as he takes a seat next to you. His lips softly make contact with your knuckles, and his eyes lock onto yours.
“Juyo..? What.. What is this..?”
“Something I've wanted for years, a romantic dinner in the house I share with the person I love the most.” Juyeon says with a soft smile, his thumb caressing your hand. “Can you believe it's already been eight years since I confessed to you?”
“Eight years already? That's so weird. It felt like only a few years ago. Maybe it's because when I'm with you, you always make me feel like a high school student with a crush.”
He chuckles at your words, “Valentine's Day has always been a special day for us, hasn't it? I can’t wait to spend more and more years with you.” Juyeon pushes himself off the chair and onto the ground on one knee.
“Your shoelaces are untied-”
“Juyeon I'm not wearing…shoes..”
Your words trail away from your mouth as Juyeon looks up at you and reveals the object he that hid from you, a ring. In his hands lay a sparkling and beautiful ring.
“What the fuck?? Juyeon?-”
“Ever since I met you in senior year, you've been the only person on my mind. My mornings start with you, my nights end with you, and my days are all about you.” His shaky hand comes back to your own, and he holds on tight.
“You are the light of my life, and I knew you were my one true love since you made that same reaction when I confessed to you. So… will you let me spend a lifetime with you by saying yes?”
By this point, both of your eyes are watery, but the love in each other's eyes is visible through the blury tears.
“Will you marry me?”
“Get out! Of course I will!!”
You tapped a gel pen against the tall wooden desk you were sat at, waiting for class to start. Your cheek rested in your palm propped up by your elbow and your eyes threatened to doze off at the monotony of the 7 pm Thursday chemistry class.
The small, shy boy who had been assigned as your partner for semester was the only  highlight of the horrendous class. He was quite entertaining, both because of how endearing his timid fumbling was and how easily you could fluster him. You knew he had a thing for you, but you never pursued anything, even though he was exactly your type. You simply didn’t think he could handle you, he seemed too inexperienced.
The slender boy finally rushed in just minutes before class was supposed to start. His paint-covered baby yellow Kanken backpack was busting with supplies, art brushes, sketchbooks, colored pencils in metal containers, even a small canvas or two. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to tell he was an art major – hell just looking at him told you he was an art major. The curly haired blonde wore a striped long sleeved shirt with the cuffs covering his hands.
“Hi y/n.” He said shyly, plopping his backpack on the ground.
“Hey Austin.” You smiled a little at the scene in front of you, you couldn’t help but find him absolutely adorable.
“So- uh-“ His voice carrying a nervous tremble and fidgeted slightly with his thumbs, “Um, I was wondering if I could show you something after class?”
You propped up a brow, “Oh? What is it that you have to show me?”
“Well- uh, I- um,” He fumbled, “I kinda need an opinion on something.” He ended quickly.
You eyed him but before you were able to question him further your professor began and he was a hardass about anyone interrupting class, he’d even lock the door if you were late.
Class ended around 9 pm and the impromptu plans with Austin had nearly escaped your mind, until his anxious voice informed you, “It’s uh, in the art lab, if you wanna follow me?”
“Sure.” You nodded lightly, curious as to what he’d possibly want your opinion on. You were a communications major and hadn’t ever taken an art class. You barely even knew where the art wing was.
He led you through hallways and courtyards, barely saying a word to you, just very determined to reach his destination. You followed him cautiously observing him, the way his fingers would play with the tail of the backpack strap, a hand in his pocket then out, tugging at the hem of his shirt. Whatever he was showing you was definitely making him nervous.
He walked you into an empty room, littered with half-finished canvases, drying clay pots, mannequins, prop fruits and the air was heavy with paint fumes.
“Wow, it’s really cool in here.” You commented gazing over the mesmerizing room.
He didn’t reply and just kept walking towards the back of the room where it seemed to be the pottery section. When he reached the second shelf of finished pottery projects, he stood in front of it. “So- um- I’m sorry in advance if this is weird.”
Your brows curved at his words, silently praying it wasn’t going to be something gross. He swiveled around, picked something up, held it for a second before turning around. Rosy flush filled his cheeks as he handed you a short but wide heart-shaped cylindrical container. It was a light lavender color, resembling the color of a candy heart.
You carefully took the cup-like sculpture, giving him a questioning look.
“I uh- um, look inside.” He said shyly, bringing sweater-covered hand to his mouth chewing on his thumbnail.
You peered inside the cup and in candy heart-font said, ‘Be mine?’
“I was w-wondering if you’d maybe, want to be, ya know, my v-valentine?” He stuttered out, “I know it’s kinda lame and you probably hate valentine’s day-“
“Yes.” You said simply with a gentle smile.
“It’s okay I underst- wait, yes?”
You chuckled, “Yeah, this is the cutest thing anyone’s ever given me.”
“Oh,” He blushed and went to bring his covered hand to block his face but stopped himself, bringing it down to fidget, “Um, it’s a pen holder.” He clarified.
“A pen holder?” You questioned with a little laugh.
“Yeah, well I noticed you use a lot of colored pens in class so… I thought you might need something to keep them on your desk.” He bit down on his lip to hide a smile.
A wide grin tugged at your lips, maybe this one had potential afterall. “Well, that’s quite thoughtful of you Austin.” You continued inspecting the inside of the cup, noticing some extra sketches inside, “What are those?” You tilted the pot to him, the sight intensifying the redness in his cheeks.
“O-Oh, um, they’re beakers…because you know we’re in chemistry class…” He trailed off, “I know it’s really lame I’m sorry I just thought-“
You giggled and placed a finger to his lips, “Sh, I think it’s cute.”
“You do?” He looked at you with the bluest, cutest puppy dog eyes you’d ever seen.
“Yeah,” Your lips curling into a beam. “Well, what are we doing for the date then Valentine?” Emphasizing the name thinking he’d probably like the reassurance.
“O-Oh well- I,” He fumbled to swing his full backpack off his one shoulder, unzipping the pouch and digging around until he found what he searched for. He held out two voucher type papers, “I thought maybe we could go to this pottery class? It’s like a w-wine and pottery type thing… I don’t k-know if you even drink b-but yeah, in case you did, I don’t know I thought you m-might like it.” His nerves clear in his increased stutter. The stuttering wasn’t new, he had one even when he was calm. But it got worse when he was nervous, like before a quiz or an experiment, and especially during presentations. You often had to take over explaining the slides for him since it got so bad. You didn’t mind though, science wasn’t his strong suit. Makes sense for a right-brain artsy individual.
“Sure, it sounds like fun.” You held the glazed clay close to your chest, knowing you it was in danger of getting dropped and you didn’t wanna risk breaking it. “I look forward to it.” You leaned over and pressed a tiny kiss to his cheek.
He bit down on his lip and nodded, “Cool.”
Tumblr media
Valentine’s Day came and you arrived to the pottery place that was hidden away in a quaint part of town you’d never been before. You waited outside, leaning against the wall. There was a bit of a buzz in your tummy, maybe you were more excited for this date than you thought. There was a gift hidden behind you to surprise him with.
Finally, you noticed the small boy making his way to you – curled up cuffed jeans, black converse, and a slightly nicer blue sweater with a white collar peeking out beneath it. “Hi y/n.” He smiled shyly, even shier than normal. You questioned whether he’d even been on a date before. He pulled his arms from behind his back, holding out a single rose and a large box of luxurious looking chocolates. “I-I didn’t know what kinda chocolates you liked s-so I got you a variety pack.”
The sight of him was so endearing, his long shaggy blonde hair, his nervously restrained smile and pink freckly cheeks, it sent a flutter in your chest. “That’s very sweet of you Austin.” A toothy grin laid claim across your face, “I got you something too.” Bringing your arm out from behind your back, offering a teddy bear wearing a sweater that resembled many that he wore.
His face lit up, “O-Oh my goodness!” He beamed. You took the presents he got you so that he could take the bear he so evidently wanted to scoop up. He immediately stole the bear and squeezed it, “Thank you so much! He’s so cute, I love him.”
You chuckled, “I’m glad you like him. I wasn’t sure you would.”
“Oh oh, I do I do I do!”
Once inside the glaring white art studio, you both were separated. At first this seemed odd as it was valentine’s day, you figured you’d be working together. But the instructor explained this was to give you the opportunity to make something unique for each other. So, you threw on the provided smock and were placed across the room from each other.
As you looked around the room you noticed the room was filled with couples significantly older than you both. People your age were probably out clubbing trying to get laid or having “anti-valentine’s day” parties. But when you searched across all the middle-aged pairs, you spotted your date – your 21 year old shy chemistry partner – laughing it up with the grandma-esque art instructor.
A smile tugged at your lips watching the interaction, the normally fairly quiet boy was the most comfortable and animated that you’d ever seen him. You were too far to hear what they were talking about but just from his focused mannerisms and confident demeanor, he was definitely consulting with the sweet old lady about whatever project he was planning. The familiarity between them made it clear that he was a regular there. She was so gentle with him, just like a grandma.
When he caught you watching him, you expected him to blush or hide but instead gave you a raised brow, ‘I caught ya’ look. You didn’t know why but you immediately felt a fuzzy feeling in your tummy mimicking embarrassment and pretended you weren’t actually looking at him. There was a slight uptick in your heartbeat when you realized he was walking towards you and you hadn’t even touched the lump of clay in front of you.
“How ya doin’?” He asked and you swore you could almost hear a tease in his tone. He caught you- clay handed.
You let out a nervous chuckle, “I uh- I don’t really know where to get started.”
“Well, I could help.” He beamed, his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and his arms covered in clay marks.
“Sure.” You nodded with a tightlipped smile. “I just, I can’t do art like- at all.”
He waved away the notion and rounded your seat, “Everyone’s an artist.” He stated before his hands finding your own and guiding them to the mass of clay. His touch sparked an electricity on your skin and made you hyperaware of every place your bodies intersected. His arms molded around you from behind placing them on the medium, “Okay so, step on the pedal a little.” He instructed and the confidence in his voice erupted goosebumps across your body.
The tabletop began to rotate when you barely tapped on the pedal, his hands gently pressing yours into the wet clay. “I um, I think I wanna make something small.” You said just low enough for him to hear.
“Okay sure.” He moved his thumbs into yours, shaving the edges off the clay to size it down. “You just gotta remember to keep it wet.” You didn’t even think he caught on, but blood was rushing to your cheeks.
He stepped away from you, wiping the gray excess off on his smock, “You think you got it?”
“Oh- Oh yeah, I got it. Thank you.” You gave him a little smile and he replied with a wide one before he shuffled away back to his project.
You followed his instructions and kept withering the lump down until it was a tiny mound. You scraped it off the plate shaped it into a small heart with a tiny loop at the top. The pad of your thumb curved a divot into the heart and painted it a dark brown. The clay was fast air drying so that you’d be able to take your creations home the same day.
For the finishing touch, you dug into your pocket to find a crystal you snuck in and carefully pressed it into the groove. Before the date you had visited your favorite crystal shop searching for a gem that reminded you of him. In the search you stumbled across a stone called Larimar, that did just that. It had varying shades of light blue with cracking white stripes throughout that made it look like the clear blue ocean waters you only ever see in postcards from exotic islands.
You didn’t realize the class was ending until you heard the clamor of people cleaning up, suddenly relieved that you had rushed through the beginning.
When you noticed him walking towards you, you promptly hid the pendant behind your back. He was doing the same, hiding his creation behind him. Before you could even argue at who was going first he brought his out.
Your eyes widened when you saw a sculpted bear about the size of a cell phone. It was almost identical to the stuffed bear you had given him earlier, only the sweater this one wore matched the blue striped one Austin was wearing. He blushed and offered it up to you, “I didn’t want you to go bear-less, I’m sure he kept you company before you gave him to me.”
The gesture softened you in ways you didn’t even know was possible. Nobody had ever made you feel that way, no one had ever been so thoughtful.
“Oh my gosh, thank you.” Letting out a tiny gasp when you took it with your freehand, bringing up to your eyeline to appreciate the detail. Every little hair was carved, every weave of the sweater pattern, even the teeny curves of its eyes all so precise and perfect. “How did you do this in such a short amount of time?”
He looked down and kicked his feet a little, “Well I, I been kinda working on it all week.” Mumbling down with his hand linked behind him, “Um,” He turned his shoulders a bit behind him to gesture to the older instructer, “Ethel was helping me with it. I wanted it to be perfect.” He shrugged.
Your brows curved together, “But I just gave you the bear today?”
He chuckled, “Yeah, that’s why I was so excited when you gave it to me – well besides that it was cute, and I love stuffies. But I was already working on a bear for you. I just added the sweater today though, because yours had one. It inspired me.” His teeth tugging his lip resisting a smile.
“Well, this just isn’t fair.” You huffed dramatically and his eyes instantly filled with worry that you didn’t like it. “I didn’t have a whole week, and all I could come up was this.” Bringing your hand out keeping the heart hidden in your hand before opening it up for him. “It’s not nearly as good – I, like I said me and art we just-“
He stole the pendant from your hand and looked at it in awe, “I love it.” He said softly, gently running his thumb over the stone. “Where did you get this crystal? It’s so pretty.”
“I well- I picked it out at a crystal shop. It made me think of you.” Bringing your shoulders to a shrug and your free hand to scratch your other arm. “It reminded me of your eyes, I guess.”
The corners of his lips couldn’t have gotten wider as he held the charm against his chest, “Ah y/n, this is so nice.” He pulled it out to look at it again then looking up at you with big bright blues, the same ones that resembled the stone. “Really, really nice. I love it.”
You chuckled, “Well, I’m glad you like it. I really love my bear.”
He pressed his lips together, “Really!”
“Yeah, you know, I was really gonna miss him.” You smiled sweetly at him.
A tiny excited squeak escaped him, “Oh I’m so happy you like him!”
You were lingering outside your cars making small talk trying to prolong your time together when you figured you might as well take the plunge. “Well, would you like to come over to my dorm?” You asked, not really expecting anything out of him but the night had gone so well you didn’t want it to end.
“I uh- yeah sure!” He tugged at his lip and nodded.
Tumblr media
You twisted the key to your home and pushed it open, revealing the messy single dorm. “Sorry for the mess, I uh- didn’t expect anyone over.”
He chuckled looking around, like he was genuinely curious at your living area, “It’s okay, my dorm is covered in canvases always so, I get it.” He walked around then you heard a small squeak from him.
“You okay?” You asked from across the room, thinking something was wrong but he looked at you with a giant grin, “You put my pen holder on your desk!” He gushed. “That’s nice. Really nice.” Bringing his sleeved hand to his mouth, biting down on his thumbnail.
“Oh, yeah of course. I love it.” You gave him a sweet smile, “Which reminds me,” walking over to where you placed your purse down, and pulling out the heavily wrapped gift. You precariously unwrapped the packing paper and placed the clay bear next to the pencil holder, “I had to put him out.” You beamed and leaned over to his grinning face, placing a quick peck on his cheek. It seemed as though he might explode, not knowing how to respond.
You began walking to the kitchenette, “You want something to drink?”
“W-water if you got it?”
“Yeah of course I have water you weirdo.” You teased, opening your mini fridge and taking out two water bottles. Walking over and handing him one, “You wanna watch a movie or something?”
“Sure!” He replied, accepting the water bottle and cracking the cap off, “What kinda movies do you like?” He inquired, bringing the bottle to his lips and taking a quick sip. It wasn’t until then that you noticed just how plump his lips were.
“I like scary movies!” Then realizing he didn’t seem like the type to like them, he was much too skittish. The immediate widened eyes confirmed that theory.
“Oh uh-“ He forced a smile, “I like scary movies, we can watch a scary movie if you want.”
You raised a brow at him, “You sure?”
He pressed his lips together and nodded, “Mhm!”
“Okay…” You analyzed him. Normally, if your relationship was deeper, you’d know to pick up on his obvious hesitation and choose another option. But, you thought this would be a good test. Part of your hesitancy of pursuing him first was the idea that he wouldn’t be able to keep up with you. You had a preference of dating subbier-type men and he read that way but you didn’t know much about him yet, you had no knowledge about his past experiences or interests, or if he even was a ‘sub’, or if he was just a shy inexperienced man.
So, this scary movie would be a test to see where he stood, how he’d react. You weren’t cruel though, you would pick a pretty calm slasher film and of course you’d turn it off he really didn’t enjoy it.
You plopped onto your grey suede couch and noticed he just stood there, like he was unsure of what he was supposed to do. You chuckled and patted the seat next to you, “Well are ya gonna come sit down silly?”
“Oh-Oh yeah of course!” He quickly shuffled over to you and gently sat beside you, further than you would’ve liked.
You flipped through the options on Netflix and chose one of the later, less good Halloween movies. You felt him tense up even in the opening scenes but as the movie progressed, you inched closer to him. There was a blanket slung over the back of the couch and draped it over the two of you. It was appropriately themed pink with hearts. You figured if he was afraid, he could use it to hide in.
The blanket plan worked, not only did it give him some comfort, but it also allowed him to discretely scoot closer to you. His hip now flush against yours as he curled the blanket close to his chest, his eyes glued to the screen horrified. It was kind of adorable his reactions were, gripping the blanket and jolting a bit during intense scenes.
In a particularly frightening jump scare scene, he covered his face with the blanket and jumped so far up he landed partially in your lap. Deep red filled his cheeks when you curled your arm around his waist pulling him completely into your lap. “You okay? We can turn it off if you want?”
He brought his sleeve up to cover his mouth, “Um…m-maybe we take a break?” He suggested even though you knew the answer was yes.
“Okay, that’s fine.” You replied calmly and paused the movie behind him. “Would you like to stay here for a bit?” Referencing his spot in your lap.
“Y-Yeah, is that okay?” He asked quietly.
“Yeah sure, of course.” Curling your hand around his waist and pulling him closer, “Would you like me to play some music? Is there something that is calming for you?”
“Uh- You can’t make fun of me.” He dug his teeth into his bottom lip.
“I would never.” You reassured.
“Okay, um, I like classical music? Like Beethoven?”
“What! Why would make fun of you for that?”
He shrugged, “I dunno, because it’s not, ya know popular now.”
You rolled your eyes playfully, “C’mon now.” Picking up your phone and connecting to your Alexa to play a classical mix playlist. You could physically feel the immediate relief the music brought him.
“So, classical huh?” You softly reached around him to bring the fallen blanket back around his shoulders.
“Thanks,” He gave you the tiniest smile and took the edges to fully cocoon him, “Yeah, I listen to it while I’m painting… it kinda-“ He shook his head, “Nevermind it’s really stupid.” Pulling the blanket tighter around him.
“No, no c’mon, you can tell me?” You pressed in a delicate tone.
“It’s just- When I listen to classical music when I paint, I guess it inspires me? It makes me feel like one of the greats ya know?” His baby blue eyes were brighter than you’d ever seen them before. His voice was clear and excited, not stuttery and shy like normal. “Like what was Van Gogh listening to when he painted ‘Starry Night’?” Once he picked up on his evident excitement he backtracked, waving away the words he’d just said, “Sorry- Sorry I know it’s lame.”
A wide smile tugged at your lips, “No, it’s not.” Gently finding his wrist over the blanket and gave him a tiny squeeze, “I think it’s really cool that you’re so connected to your art like that, I just, yeah. I really like hearing you talk about it.”
He pressed his lips together, wrapping one arm around himself and keeping the one you held still under your touch.
“You’re pretty cute you know that?” You tugged you lip between your teeth, almost excited to see his reaction.
As expected, he turned tomato red, “Oh- thank you.” He said shyly, “You’re really pretty.”
The words returned the flutter from earlier, you didn’t expect this date to go anywhere but you really weren’t prepared for the churning in your tummy from the tiny things he did.
“Thanks darlin’” You took a leap and grazed the back of your hand against his cheek. The slight nerves of thinking he would retract faded when he just blushed and nudged his face a bit against your touch. You followed the natural inclination to tangle your fingers into his blonde curls and scratched his head lightly. He only leaned into your touch more, closing his eyes and letting out a small happy noise.
“Hey, I forgot I got some valentine’s day candy if you want some?” You asked, pulling your hand from his hair.
He seemed disappointed at first, then quickly perked back up at the mention of candy. “Sure!”
“Okay,” You brought your tongue between your lips as you strained to stretch across the couch to the side table with Austin still in your lap. He only giggled at your difficulty but didn’t intend to move his comfortable position. Amidst your struggle, you were finally able to pick up the glass bowl that held a mix of holiday candy. “Here, take your pick.” You offered the bowl to him.
He used his finger to careful move the candy around, very seriously focused on finding the perfect choice. Finally, he plucked a small baggie of candy conversation hearts and gave you a little smile to indicate he’d made his choice.
You chuckled at the precision of his extraction then mimicked his actions, finding a red heart-shaped lollipop. While Austin was distracted by his delicate opening of the teeny clear envelope of his candy hearts, you were carefully freeing the red lolli from it’s plastic covering.
He popped a lavender heart into his mouth and looked up at you appearing content with the flavor, the edges of his mouth curled in a way that accentuated his cheekbones. The moment he saw you drawing the candy from your lips, his demeanor changed. His gaze stayed on the lolly each time you slid it out through your closed lips.
You noticed this and took it as an opportunity to see just how flustered you could make the shy boy. When you opened your mouth, you slowly glided the sugary confection down your tongue, then using the tip to swirl around it. He visibly gulped and pulled the blanket around him fully, shifting a bit in your lap.
You smirked knowing the power you held over him over something as small as a candy. Dragging the lolly down the length of your tongue again, you held it out to him, “Want a taste?”
His eyes widened and cheeks burning red realizing he’d been caught, “I-I um, I just, uh-“
You leaned forward slightly and tapped the candy on his bottom lip, “Open up for me?”
He stilled completely, looking at you wide eyed and hesitated before obeying. He hesitantly took the lolly in his mouth, wrapping his lips around the base. You kept hold of the stem and could feel his tongue move around it, the feeling alone was enough fill your core with butterflies. He pulled off the candy and looked at you as if asking for further direction.
“Good boy.” You said softly and kept eye contact with him as you took the heart back in your mouth, sucking all of his saliva off of it. He began to squirm again. Your fingers followed the edge of the blanket and attempted to tug it open, but he tightened his grip on it. “C’mon baby let me see you.”
He shook his head vehemently, “No-no.” His hand found yours though and guided it up his thigh beneath the blanket. “Only under- if-if you want.” He whispered.
“Okay.” You nodded and followed up his thigh to find a bulge covered by his jeans.
He writhed the moment you landed on the bulge he’d been hiding from you. You pulled him closer in your lap and began peppering kisses along his neck while palming him over his jeans, “Is this what you’re squirmin’ about?” Whispering just under his ear.
“Sh.” He whined, hips slowly rutting against your hand, “Needy.”
You let out a low chuckle at his choice of words, “I see that.”
A sharp gasp escaped him once you pulled his skin into your mouth beginning to form a dark bruise. “You’re so hard for me baby.” Quietly against the darkened mark. “You’re this hard over a piece of candy?”
“M-mhm.” He whimpered softly.
“Mmm.” You hummed against his neck, beginning to unzip his pants and slipping your hand over his boxers. “You wish that lolly was your cock?”
He let out a loud whine and rolled his hips against your hand even faster desperate for friction. “Please.”
“Please what darlin?” Your motion on his stiff member agonizingly slow.
He whimpered and you already felt precum seeping through his underwear. “C’mon use your words for me?”
He kept speechless but he was writhing under your touch and tiny quiet sobs fell from his lips.
“Hmm.” You dragged your hand up to the band of his boxers, slipping a finger beneath it, “Don’t you wanna be a good boy for me?” You whispered under his ear.
“Y-yes!” He squeaked immediately, “I um- please touch me.”
You smirked, “See? That wasn’t so hard.” Pulling the band over his hard member, it already twitching from your proximity. You began leaving sloppy kisses over his neck while dragging a finger up his length.
He whined, “Please.” Begging again and bucking a bit into your hand.
You chuckled against his neck, “You really are so needy huh?”
“Mhm.” He hummed, letting out a tiny moan when you began sucking marks into his skin.
“I’m gonna mark you up, so everyone in class can know how big of a slut you are.” You mumbled against his skin beginning to pump his cock slowly in your hand.
Whines started pouring from his lips, “Ah! No-no I don’t want them to know! I’ll be so embarrassed.”
“Hmm,” Working on an even darker hickey, “You know what’s even more embarrassing?” Your hand picking up speed on his member, driving him crazy in your lap. “That they’ll know who gave them to you, who you belong to.”
“B-Belong?” He asked you wide eyed and innocent.
“Mhm.” Hooking your index under his chin and pressing your lips into his, “Mine. You like the sound of that?”
His cheeks reddened more than you thought possible and you’d never seen anyone look so cute while getting jacked off. “Mhm. Yeah, I like that.” He nodded cutely.
“Good,” Placing another quick kiss on his lips, “Now be a good boy and spit for me.” You brought your hand up to his mouth. He obeyed and spit into your palm, the sight of him with drool dripping from his plump lip was enough to pool wetness into your panties. “Fuck you’re so pretty.”
“Sh.” He hushed, shifting in your lap so that each knee was around your hips then hiding in your neck. “You’re making me all… I dunno.” He nuzzled his nose into the curve of your shoulder.
Your heart fluttered at his reaction to your praise and only fueled your work on him. “Such a good boy.” Your hand having a better rhythm with the help of his spit. His hips were bucking into your hand wildly, letting sobs fill your ears.
He decided to copy you and start trailing kisses up your neck, cause you to suck in a breath not expecting the sensation that his lips burned into your skin. He swirled his tongue just under your ear, growing the pulsing in your clit. You needed his tongue on you.
He whined loudly, “I-I’m close.”
In preparation you brought your shirt up to just under your bust, to make sure he wouldn’t spill on it. “Okay, cum for me?” It earned you some even louder moans, but then remembered his reaction from earlier, “My pretty baby, won’t you be a good boy and give me your cum?”
His rutting in your fist became sloppy and erratic, his whines filling your living room completely. Then one final thrust did him over, shooting milky stripes across your stomach. His head lulled against your shoulder, his breathing rapid obviously spent by the endeavor.
You smiled down at him and kissed his cheek, “You were so good for me.” You whispered and he gave you a lazy smile. Your hand tangled in his hair giving his head a little scratch and as predicted, his eyes fluttered closed with a content tightlipped smile.
Once he came back down from his high, a light pink filled his cheeks when he noticed the mess he made. “I’m sorry I… did that on you.”
“It’s alright.” You said calmly, “But I want you to clean up your mess.”
His eyes widened, “I um- I can get some paper towels or-“
“No baby, I meant with your tongue.” You clarified with a mischievous sneer.
“Oh- um okay.” He nodded but before he could move off of you, you cupped his chin, “The mess on my tummy is not the only one you caused. I want you to clean that one up too.”
His breath hitched looking stunned but nodded obediently. He dismounted from you while you slid your shorts off and shifted to lay sideways on the couch facing him then spreading your legs in front of him. “Well what are ya waitin for darlin?”
He eyed the mess on your stomach seemingly hesitant but surprised you when he leaned down beginning to swipe up his own cum with his tongue. The feeling of his tongue just inches above your core set a rampant buzzing in your clit.
When he was done, he sat back on his legs and stared at your core in awe, like it was some gourmet meal. You noticed that he was hard again in his boxers. “Aw, are you hard again?”
He nodded, “Yes. I’m sorry.” Hanging his head in embarrassment.
“Come here.” You instructed with a curled index towards you. When he move over you at your command, you cupped his cheek. “You wanna tell me what made you hard again?”
He shook his head but kept his cheek glued to your hand. “Was it just from looking at my pussy?”
“A little, yeah.” He said tugging at his lip and keep his eyes diverted, indicating there was something else.
You perked a brow up trying to think of what it could be before a devious smirk spread across your lips, “Was it because I made you clean up your mess?”
Deep rouge returned to his cheeks, “U-uh… Embarrassed.” He muttered into your palm.
“Hmm. Does that happen a lot when you’re embarrassed?” By the way he nuzzled and hid his face in your palm and his cock noticeably twitch in his boxers answered your question.
“I’m sorry just- I can’t help it.” He mumbled.
“You don’t gotta be sorry baby.” You said softly, “Here’s the deal, if you make me cum, I might let you cum again.”
His eyes lit up, “You’d let me cum again?”
“Mhm, if you’re a good boy. But I have some rules.”
“Okay?”
“Rule #1, you can’t cum without my permission.” He nodded, “Rule #2, this time, if I let you cum, it has to be without your hands.”
His look mixed with fear and confusion, “Huh?”
“If you’re gonna cum again, you’re gonna have to do it while humping the couch. In your boxers.” You stated
“W-What?”
“You heard me. Now do you wanna cum or not?”
He nodded quickly, “Yes ma’am.” Then beginning to shift down but you caught his jaw with your hand, forcing him to meet your eyes.
“Are you okay with this? You like when I tell you what to do?” Realizing maybe you got carried away and wanted to check in to make sure you were on the same page.
He gave you an excited and reassuring smile, coming back up to meet your lips. “Mhm. Like it a lot.” Nudging your nose with his. You felt him about to pull away but something in you wanted just a bit more of it, bringing your hands up to his cheeks drawing him into a deeper kiss.
His kiss was gentle but not stiff, tenderly danced his lips against yours. You swiped his bottom lip for entrance, and he obliged opening for you. You tangled your fingers into his long blonde hair and wrapped your legs around him, pulling him closer. You strategically tightened your legs around him so that his covered tip would tease at your entrance causing a sharp gasp from him. “Fuck.” He moaned against your lips.
You giggled in satisfaction, holding his face in your hands, “If at any point you want to stop or you’re uncomfortable just say…” Trying to think of something to use as a safe word but he answered for you.
“Candy heart!” He perked up with a little giggle which made your heart soar at how cute he was, even when you were about to torture him. “That way I can show you one or point if… I can’t talk or something.” It made you wonder if that was some shy way of hinting at some other kink.
You smiled wide, “Okay, Candy Heart it is then.” Lifting up to kiss him again, “Now be a good boy and eat my pussy will you?”
His eyes widened a bit and quickly moved down between your legs, lying flat against the sofa. He spread your lips apart then leaned down to kitten lick at your swollen nub and it felt like heaven. “Fuck,” You breathed out, tangling your fingers into his shaggy hair, pushing him further into you. He let out a moan at your taste.
It didn’t take long for him to start rutting against the couch, which reminded you of another condition. “Oh yeah, there’s another rule.” You smirked when he looked up at you, fear in his eyes. “You’re not allowed to stop until I say so – that includes your humping.”
His eyes widened at your words, pulling away from you, “B-but, I-I’m gonna get close.”
“That’s not my problem. If you cum without permission, there’ll be a price to pay.” He hesitantly nodded.
His whines increased as he lapped up your juices trying his best to get you to finish, his ruts against the couch a bit too slow for your liking.
“Faster.” You demanded and he sped up on your clit. You firmly grasped his hair, “Not on me.”
He whimpered, pulling away from you, your juices slathered all over his mouth and chin. “But I-I’m close.” He sobbed.
“Not my problem.” Shoving his face back into your core needing his tongue back. His rutting increased slightly accompanied by small desperate cries.
“Faster.”
He whined loudly, “I can’t! I’ll cum!”
His absolute desperation was driving you towards your climax, you loved seeing him like that. “You cum, you’ll regret it. That’s a promise. Now faster.”
He fucked himself against the couch, whines and whimpers vibrating against your clit and it was driving you fucking crazy. “Such a pretty little slut.” Combing through his hair to see him better. His eyes scrunching closed obviously struggling to keep it together.
“Faster.”
“I can’t! I can’t! I’m gonna cum!”
“You’re gonna disobey me? Or you’re gonna be a good boy?”
He listened, fucking himself faster against the cushion. His entire body was trembling teetering on the edge of his precipice. You were right there too, just at the edge. The sight of him struggling turned you on in ways you never even know you could reach.
“Faster.” You breathed out, your chest heaving.
“I c-can’t!” He cried into your core.
“I didn’t fucking ask.”
He sped up, “Fuck! I’m gonna cum!”
“Hold it.” You warned.
“I’m gonna cum!”
“Hold it.” You growled through your teeth.
“I-I can’t i’m gonna- i’m gonna cum, I-I-“ Loud moans poured against you and his body tensed up, releasing once more into his boxers. But his tongue never stopped working on you.
The absolute pure desperation of him drove you into your own climax, your moans matching his, rolling your hips into his mouth. His incessant swirling of his tongue pushed you even further, just from how much the entire scene turned you on. Euphoria washed over you, sending tingles even down to your toes. But he still didn’t stop.
“What a good boy.” You groaned, keeping a tight fist in his hair with your thighs clamped around his head. “You don’t stop til I say so.” He was completely in your control, obviously making up for his mistake. His tongue felt so good on you, which answered your question from before – if he’d ever been on a date. There was no way this was the first time he’d ever done anything, his tongue was too fucking skilled to be an amateur. And the way he obeyed you? Listened to you? Begged? He was an expert.
He kept eating you, not too fast and not too slow, just right. Just enough to edge you towards another orgasm. “Fuck.” You practically growled out feeling the buzzing build in your clit again. He looked up at you with round, submissive blue eyes – another indicator that he was no novice. He had picked up on your weaknesses and he knew just how to use them on someone dominant like you. Those big puppy dog eyes and the small curve of his brows that communicated, ‘I’m sorry, I’m all yours to do what you want with, I want to make you feel good’. And it worked, the sight of him at your mercy did you in. The knot in your stomach unraveled and you felt your own cum release all over his face, but he didn’t stop, just like you said. “Fuck!” You cried, arching your back off the couch sharply. He kept devouring you and it was like your orgasm didn’t end, just prolonged. You cum kept flowing out of you like a fountain, more than you’d ever came before. Your chest heaved and when you knew you were finished, you gently patted his head. “You can stop now.” Breathing out weakly.
He pulled from your core with your cum all over his face, dripping off his chin. The sight of him, dripping in your cum and his underwear filled with his own made you ravenous. It reminded you of his disobedience.
You gathered all your strength to pull yourself up and onto all fours crawling over to him. “You didn’t listen to me.” You taunted.
He looked at you terrified, “I-I’m sorry I couldn’t help it!” Scooting away from you to the opposite side of the couch.
You backed him into the corner of the sofa, “I told you there’d be a price to pay.”
“I’m sorry I just-“ You swiftly slipped the soaked boxers off of him, crumbling them up in your hand.
“Open.” Gesturing at his mouth. You could tell he wanted to resist but was too scared. He nodded and opened for you. He whined when you shoved the most drenched part into his mouth.
You spit into your hand and found his cock again, it had softened a bit but quickly hardened again when you started pumping it in your hand. It was dark burgundy red and swollen from all the stimulation. Pained sobs came from behind the underwear lodged in his mouth. He shook his head profusely as your hand sped up. “Oh you wanna be a little slut and cum without permission? Well, if you wanna cum so fucking bad why don’t you cum again hm?”
Tears pooled in his eyes as he wriggled around in overstimulated agony. “Oh, what’s wrong? Isn’t this what you wanted? Isn’t that why you came all over me? And your underwear? And my couch?” You hissed through a smirk, getting off on his suffering.
He scrunched his eyes closed, tears being forced out, every muscle in his body contracting from the anguish. His fingers digging into the suede couch looking for anything to possibly ease the overstimulation. Sweat covered his forehead as he struggled beneath you.
“Aw look at you.” Your hand moving even faster on his cock, causing his eyes to widen, “Struggling so much. But even with this, I bet you’ll still cum like the little slut you are.” Taunting in a low voice, now hovering over his face. “Isn’t that right my pretty little one?”
His pained whines increased making the edges of your mouth curl into a leer, “Ah that’s right. Oh, you’re gonna cum aren’t you? You gonna cum like a little whore?”
He whined, still squirming wildly under you. You brushed a stray hair from his forehead, “C’mon baby, you’re so soo pretty like this. Be a good boy for me? Show me how much of a pretty little slut you are?”
All of a sudden, he bucked his hips harshly up into your hand, thick ribbons of cum erupting from his swollen tip. You palmed him til he rode out the high without over stimulating him again, gently pulling the underwear from his mouth. He looked at you through hooded lids, “I- You- We- Wow.” Was all he could muster, making you giggle.
You swiped the pad of your thumb across his cheek bone looking at him in awe, “You were so good.” Softly placing a kiss on his forehead.
“Yeah?” He squeaked only widening your smile.
“Mhm. And you’re so fucking pretty.” You tucked a tuft of hair behind his ear.
His cheeks peeked pink again, “Thanks… You’re really fucking hot.” He blurted out.
You busted out laughing not expecting that out of him, “Thanks babydoll.” Pressing a kiss to his cheek. “How about we get you cleaned up and then we can watch a not scary movie?”
“I’d like that lots.” He nodded excitedly, “Maybe we could watch 'Home'? I really like the little alien guy.” He giggled.
You chuckled and pressed your lips against his, “Sure baby, we can do that.”
someone new - lee chan
Tumblr media
song inspo: enchanted - taylor swift
warning(s): angst, tiny bit of fluff?
synopsis: love has always been hard for you but with chan it seemed easy, until it wasn’t.
heart to heart vday collab masterlist
Tumblr media
when you and chan met it seemed like the world had slowed down for you. it was enchanting, really. he was surrounded by his friends in a cramped night club when his eyes caught yours from across the room. your shy smile seemed to draw him in as he pushed through the crowd to introduce himself.
no one wanted to believe him when he said he met a girl that night and none of your friends could believe that you gave a loser like him your number. but there was something about the aloof smile he gave you after he almost tripped walking up to you that had you hooked. that’s why you found yourself out in the middle of the night a lot with the windows down blasting all your favorite songs while he drove you two around the city till the sun came out.
no one understood the connection the two of you had but they didn’t need to. the only thing anyone needed to know was that you were in love and you hoped chan was too.
it was safe to say it was hard to understand lee chan sometimes, even when you two were as close as your feet to the ground were. or maybe you two were as close as the moon and sun considering you never knew he had a crush. at least all his friends made it out to be a crush.
chan never spilled the beans on who it was and you hoped it was because he liked you and he was just terrified to ruin your guys’ friendship - which is something you two didn’t have in common.
one night you decided enough was enough, you were finally going to confess to him and what better way than to do it on valentines day - even if it was a little cliche. you had the whole night planned out, from the second you two woke up to right now. it was dinner time and you asked chan to meet you at a restaurant that you had spent weeks getting a reservation at.
you and chan had come separately because you had some last minute things you needed to take care of, such as the freshly polished silver chain you had tucked away in the pocket of your long coat. you remembered chan eyeing it awhile ago when you two had taken a trip to the mall to buy someone a gift and when you two had split ways you ran back to the shop to buy it - even if it costed you almost your whole car payment (chan was worth it after the years he had been putting up with you).
a couple more minutes were spent in your cars as you fixed your appearance a little, smoothing down fly hairs and straightening out your clothes. you wanted to look as good as possible, even though you know chan wouldn’t care if you had shown up in a hoodie and leggings.
it felt like an eternity as you walked into the restaurant and followed the waitress to the table where chan was already sitting, his normally messy hair slicked back as he talked quietly on the phone with someone. you waited patiently for him to be finished before you made yourself known.
“chan!” he almost jumps out of his seat as you laugh quietly at how startled he got.
“i thought i was going to have a heart attack.” he lets out a dramatic sigh as he smiles back at you, watching you take a seat across from him.
“you clean up good.” you whistle lowly at his appearance, he definitely looked a lot more dressed up than you.
“oh thanks.” he blushes lightly as he scratches his cheek - a nervous habit he picked up a while ago. “you look pretty.” he offers you a shy smile.
“thank you.” it's your turn for your face to start heating up as you pick up the menu to look at their drink selection. “do you know what you’re going to order yet?” chan hums quietly as he looks back down at his own menu.
“i was just thinking of having a house salad.” you look up at your best friend curiously.
“are you not hungry?” you watch him shrug a little before his phone dings quietly, his hands typing away at the screen as he responds to whatever message he got before setting his phone back down and apologizing.
“i’m trying to save my appetite.” he doesn’t dare look you in the eyes. a small pit begins to form in your stomach as you begin to think that maybe he didn’t want to be there with you.
“oh?” you tried to keep your voice steady as you went back to looking at your own menu. “if i didn’t know any better i would think that you had another date later.” the silence was a little too long for your liking as you looked back up at chan who was already staring at you wide eyed. “what?”
“how did you…” you felt your heart stop a little.
“you have another date later?” you swallow the lump in your throat.
“i do..” his voice is small before he looks back down at his menu, trying to distract the way your fallen face hurt him.
“with whoo?” you tried to sound excited for him.
“her name is lin, we have bio chem together..” his voice shook a little. “she had asked me if i wanted to join her for dinner later and i couldn’t say no..”
“is she the one you have a crush on?”
“what?” he looks back at you wide eyed like an owl.
“y’know, seungkwan can’t keep his mouth shut about you liking someone.” the laugh you let out sounded a little bitter before you sighed quietly. “you don’t have to sit here and eat with me if you have plans.”
“no i want to be here with you i ju-”
“you just want to hang out with lin more, right? i get it.” you offer him the best fake reassuring smile you could muster. “you finally got asked out by a girl for valentines day, you shouldn’t have to spend it with your best friend when you can spend it with her instead.”
“y/n..” his voice trailed off as he tried to think of what to say, which only made you sigh quietly.
“just go be with her now chan..” this time your smile was genuine, even if your lips shook as you held back your tears. “enjoy your valentine's day with someone who isn’t me for once.”
“but i..” his sentence got caught in his throat as he watched you look back down at your menu. “do you really want me to go?” he whispered. you couldn’t trust your voice anymore as you nod your head. a loud silence fell over the two of you as minutes passed by before chan finally stood up, quietly dismissing himself before he left the restaurant.
a single tear fell down your cheek as you tried to hold your sobs in, not wanting to break down in the middle of the restaurant. why did it have to turn out like this? today was supposed to be the perfect day, where you finally confessed to the love of your life.
“just… please don’t be in love with her.” you whispered to yourself as you whipped the tear off your face before grabbing your phone to text the one person you knew was free.
‘jeonghan.. do you want to come have dinner with me and then watch a movie after?’
‘i thought you were out with chan right now?’
‘didn’t go as planned.’
‘send me your location’
after sending him the name of the restaurant you put in your drink order along with something to drink for jeonghan when he got there. even if you weren’t able to spend valentine's day with the man that enchanted you from day one, at least you were able to spend it with someone who could lighten your mood - even just a little.
Hiii so for the Vday writing can I request a Steve x Reader with the fluff prompt 88? maybe steve is holding his daughter for the first time and he gets super emotional.
ohhhthis one is so cute 🥺
prompt: "you're a very good parent."
Tumblr media
you never knew the colors blue and pink looked so well together.
the blush pink of your baby's new blanket, swaddling her all warm and snug. the blue of the hospital gowns your husband wore. the baby pink of your daughter's little cap on her head. the blue of steve's eyes that you could see all the way from where you laid beside him on the hospital bed, his eyes were so wide with amazement.
his first priority of course had been you – after the nurses had the baby and you both were ensured that everything went well, his hands were automatically on you. one of his larger ones cupping yours, the other cradling your head as he leaned down to touch his forehead to yours. tears were in your eyes from the whole situation, and he wiped them gently, pressing kisses to your eyes, your forehead, your hands, the top of your head. whispers of "I'm so proud of you," and "you did such an amazing job," crossing from just him to you, where nobody else could hear. you smiled at the man, glad that you had no one other than him by your side.
but as you looked at him now, your whole world shifted on its axis. the nurses had cleaned both you and the baby up, you had already cradled her and given her all the love you could have before you looked at your husband and raised your eyebrows, a silent ask if he wanted to hold your baby, and his arms were already halfway to you before you could really look at him. of course he wanted to hold your baby – his baby – the baby that you both made together.
his eyes were wide with wonder, you could see his irises so clearly in the dimmed light, scanning over his baby’s face. you could see the gears in his brain turning, no doubt a flash forward of the next 18 years to come before he’d set her free into adulthood, but he had a blank look to his face at the same time, all thoughts paused as he just took her in. her tiny nose and ears, her eyes still shut, her tiny breaths as she snuggled into her blanket and into her father’s arms. she knew she was safe, and you knew that you and your daughter would always be safe with him by your sides.
her small cries interrupted your haze of emotion while you stared at the both of them.  immediately, his instinct kicked in and he began to rock her gently and shush her softly.
“shh, shh, shh…” he bounced her ever so softly in his arms to the rhythm of his voice. “it’s okay, honey, daddy’s right here. no need to cry, we’re right here.”
your heart in that moment was warmer than any other time in your life. looking at the man you love being so gentle, so caring, so full of love to his daughter in the same ways he had loved you all these years, it made your heart swell.
“you’re a very good parent,” you whispered to him, a small tear rolling down the side of your face as you tilted your head to look over at him a little better. he looked over at you with a small smile on his face, tears matching yours, and reached over to wipe your tear away with his right hand. “she’s lucky to have you as her dad.”
“no,” all Steve could do was shake his head gently, smiling back down at his daughter, watching her calm down once again, eyelashes fluttering shut. “I’m lucky to have her as my daughter.”
he considered himself to be the luckiest man in the world.
morning
kaminari denki x reader // bnha // vday snippet // fluff
Tumblr media
Kaminari Denki was a romantic at heart, and Valentine’s Day provided ample opportunity for him to shower you in gifts and affection. He had planned the day out perfectly. He would wake up before you to make heart-shaped waffles (thankfully, he’d found a box of frozen ones at the supermarket; you’d practically banned him from the kitchen after he tried to use his quirk to power the toaster and nearly started a house fire in the process). You’d shower him in kisses for bringing you breakfast in bed, telling him how he was the best and how much you loved him, and the two of you would spend the morning lazily watching romcoms, before heading to dinner at your favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant in town.
Or at least, that’s what would have happened, but Kaminari forgot he had a late-night patrol the day before. He promptly knocked out once he got home, sleeping past all of his alarms.
When he awoke blearily, shaking his head of the remnants of drowsiness, he panicked once he realized two things: one, you weren’t curled up by his side anymore, the spot next to him on the bed cold, and two—he glanced at the clock, eyes widening—how had he slept in until the afternoon? He groaned, falling backwards onto the sheets, throwing a pillow over his face. Damn, he had really missed his chance to wow you—
“Morning, sleeping beauty,” you teased from the doorway, and Kaminari jolted upright, apologies on his lips about sleeping in, but you shushed him. “I figured you’d be tired after patrol. I made you breakfast.”
He blinked. “Y-You did?” He said lamely. He was about to protest that he was supposed to make you breakfast, but was cut off by his stomach growling—loudly. He grinned sheepishly at your laugh, scratching the back of his head. You made your way over to the bed, placing a kiss on the top of his head before depositing the two plates of food on his lap. You crawled over him to get to your side.
Kaminari’s eyes widening once he took the sight in, handing you a plate. “Woah, you really went all out, huh?” He grinned. “All this, just for me?”
You rolled your eyes, a smile tugging at your mouth. “I mean, since your Super Secret Valentine’s Day Breakfast was foiled.” He spluttered, asking how you knew about them, and you laughed. “Denki… you’re terrible at hiding things you know that? Also, it’s mm, not hard to figure out when you wrote a reminder on the calendar in the kitchen.”
Kaminari blinked. Shit, he’d forgotten to erase that…
“Besides, you and I both know you’re a disaster in the kitchen.” You chuckled.
“Babe, they were frozen waffles! Heart-shaped ones too! Anyone could make them!”
“Mm, you do know we still need a new toaster though, right? And microwave. After you broke them.”
He gave you a puzzled look. “You mean we can’t defrost them over fire? Like on the stove?”
“Ummm, no—I mean…maybe? Just—just no, Denki,” you said, silently thanking whatever god there was out there that he overslept and wasn’t able to burn down the kitchen again. You still had flashbacks of him setting your toaster ablaze.
“Huh. Guess I messed up.” He sighed, staring gloomily at his plate. You grabbed a strawberry from it, poising it at his lips. He opened his mouth, swallowing it, before staring at you inquisitively.
“You know, if you’re going to look at my cooking all sad like that, I’m going to get the wrong idea.”
His eyes widened. “N-No, I love it!” He said, digging in heartily. You laughed, leaning back to watch him enjoy his food. You weren’t going to lie… seeing Denki like this, in his adorable lightning-strike pajamas, with his hair mussed… so lively and buoyant, even this early in the morning… it reminded you why you fell in love with him.
“Did you say something?” You blinked, snapping out of your thoughts. He cocked his head to the side. “You were mumbling.”
“Ah, it’s nothing.” You smiled.
“You know, (Y/N),” Kaminari said through a mouthful of food. He swallowed. “I know I say this a lot, but…” He glanced at you, pink on his cheeks. “I love you,” he said earnestly.
“I-I love you two, you dork.”
He smiled, taking another bite of food and moaning happily. “God, this tastes amazing, babe. What do I have to do to repay you?”
“Mm, I was thinking a day of chilling in bed and watching shows sounds good. And maybe…” You drew lines into the blanket, staring up at him coyly through your lashes. “A kiss or two?”
His mouth hung open, and you made a face. “Denki, not with food in your mouth!” He apologized, swallowing roughly and nearly choking. He scrabbled for the water on his table, downing it before turning to you, red-faced.
“A-A kiss? Yeah. S-Sure. No problem. I can… I can do that!”
“You’re acting like I’m asking to molest you,” you teased.
“N-No! It’s just…. You never ask this directly. I’m…” He coughed. “I’m shocked.”
You took a deep breath, your own cheeks flushed. “W-Well Denki, can I have a kiss then?”
“Of course! Anything for you,” he said quickly. And he meant it. He leaned in to press his lips against yours.
When he pulled away, you stared at him pensively. He fidgeted, nervous about the look you were sending him. “Y-Yeah?”
“Hm… how about a kiss for every appliance of ours you’ve broken. So that means two, maybe three?”
He grinned, rubbing the back of his head. “Jeez, that’s not fair… we’ll be here all day then.”
“Better start counting then,” you teased, pulling him towards you for another one.
February 13: Making Progress
Short note because I’m tired and need to get to sleep, and I’ve already done my writing for the day (still not share-able). I have accomplished quite a bit today. A whole day at work with little in the way of distractions, errands after work—dropped the ball a little bit when I finally got home and was so exhausted that I could only sit on my couch and watch Netflix documentaries, and I ate a sort of ‘whatever is around’ dinner, which is maybe not ideal—and then I rallied to actually do some writing post-shower. The Vday fic is coming along. It will absolutely be down to the wire, in that it’s due at some point in the next 24 hours and I still have one whole scene left to write, but I will get it done.
I’ve already written more in the past 3 days than I wrote in all of January. Not sure how I feel about that. Good for current me, bad for past me? I have some chance of evening out my average to 5k a month? That’s sort of my tentative goal for 2023: to end up with 60k by the end of December, which I think is absolutely doable if I just push myself even a little bit.
This particular fic is just pure fluff. It’s probably too long given its fluffiness. Its lack of plot or conflict of literally any sort. And it’s probably OOC but in my defense, these characters are almost never happy in the canon so it’s hard to tell what happiness would look like on them. Also I don’t care about any of this. I think the story is cute and it's accomplishing what it’s trying to accomplish. Tomorrow (somehow) I will send it out into the world and then other people can enjoy it, or not, and I’ll go back to trying to chip away at some of these WIPs, which, you know, I am still interested in finishing.
🤍 valentine's day with mikey 🤍
a/n: idk where scooby doo came from, forgive me lmaoo hc mikey tries so hard for love pls cherish him
content: it's all fluff m8
there was no way mikey forgot about valentine's day. you had been asking him for weeks what the two of you were going to do for your first valentine's day together. every time he'd simply said, "you'll see."
everyday since february 1st you'd been guessing, too. ice skating? mikey said he doesn't know how. dinner? too predictable, you deserve something better. romantic getaway? sorry, no.
there were hundreds of things you loved about mikey, maybe even thousands, but the way he kept secrets so fucking well was not one of them.
each time you brought up valentine's day he gave you a small, reassuring smile and moved on without giving anything away. not even a single clue. you practically vibrated with excitement every time you let your mind wander considering what he might have planned.
but when you walk into his house that night, you're surprised to find... nothing.
there are no big red heart balloons in the entryway, no rose petals on the tabletop, not even a happy valentine's day from your boyfriend when he greets you at the door with a kiss.
okay, so he forgot.
"so happy you're here, baby," he holds your face in his hands, squishing your cheeks slightly as he looks at you with adoration in his eyes. "go sit, i'll grab us snacks."
with that, he disappears into the kitchen. the night wasn't special at all. after all his teasing smiles and 'you'll see's, it felt just like any other night.
mikey comes back into the room balancing two bowls of chips, a sleeve of oreos, and two drinks. he arranges them on the table and flops down into the seat next to you. smiling at you briefly, he takes one of your hands and holds it in his lap while he turns on the tv.
"am i gonna sit here and watch you play video games?" your tone sharpens suddenly. mikey replies evenly, "no, i'm putting on a movie."
you feel a bit sick as he clicks through the movies on the tv. he lifts your hand to his lips and presses a kiss to your knuckles. "mikey," you mutter, not sure what you even want to say. selecting a title, he looks over at you, head cocked to one side, "yes, m'dear?"
"what are we doing?" you try not to frown but it proves too difficult to hold back.
his thumb strokes the back of your hand tenderly, "watching scooby doo."
"mikey."
"scooby doo 2: monsters unleashed."
he's looking at you like you should understand why he's chosen such an obscure movie. and one you'd already seen.
"why?" your brows furrow. "we've already watched that together."
"right."
realization crashes over you like a wave. the night wasn't supposed to feel like any ordinary night: it was supposed to feel familiar.
it had been almost a year since you and mikey had watched this movie together for the first time. you could hardly remember how it had even come up, but when mikey heard you hadn't seen scooby doo 2: monsters unleashed, it shocked him to his core. you'd laughed hysterically at his frantic reaction: we have to put it on now. i'm not fucking joking. stop laughing. you need to see this movie. you had immediately gone over to his house for the first time. he got you a drink, and looted his kitchen for snacks, finding chips and oreos.
as you finished the movie, mikey had laid his head in your lap and asked what you thought. "it was cute and silly," you had smirked down at him. "like you, when you found out i'd never seen it."
the look he gave you then was one of deep fondness. you had held his gaze as you ran a hand through his hair. "will you go out with me?" he had asked, voice smaller than you'd ever heard it. "i like you so much, i can't take it anymore."
the two of you considered that night to have been your first date.
"i guess it's not the best idea for valentine's day," mikey's hand cups the back of his neck as he suddenly feels embarrassed. "i thought it would be cute to recreate our first date. i guess it didn't–"
you cut him off with a kiss, climbing into his lap. his arms snake around your waist. you feel him smile against your mouth. "this is so sweet," you beam, pulling away. "the absolute sweetest. i love you." "i love you more," he says back.
you kiss him again but stop when you notice his eyes flick behind you for a split second.
"do you want to watch scooby doo, mikey?"
"i really do."
you throw your head back and laugh before snuggling into his arms.
