Two foxes competing to be your house spouse. You watch tv with one only to be picked up and set down on your bed by the other so you two can watch YouTube videos together.

I like to imagine one is a fluffy, white arctic fox and the other is a thinner, red fox. Both intent on keeping the human that saved their lives happy and healthy. Both intent on not letting the other stay for much longer.

Lots of mild back and forth shenanigans follow suit.

Here's a rough little snippet I shouldn't have written but did anyway!

The first thing Hob notices are the cables. Cables everywhere, tangled into a haphazard knot under the desk, and hanging in a ball over the too-plush carpet. 

"This is blasphemy," he says, sounding so forlorn that Dream's head tilts at him quizzically. Dream looks like Hob imagines a cat would after it's pushed a glass of water off the countertop: curious, but entirely confused about why he's being chastised. 

"Have you discovered the problem?"

Hob pinches the bridge of his nose, has to look away before his stomach does that traitorous fluttering thing it tends to whenever Dream stands too close, or speaks, or does anything at all. 

It's become a bit of a nightmare working with Dream, and the irony isn't lost on him. The problem isn't the work itself. Dream's calls are by far the easiest of the ones Hob takes. The problem is Dream. His earnestness. The fact that he's probably the most beautiful person Hob's ever seen. He's distracting, and he overpays, too. Which is nice and all, but Hob can't really stomach the idea of accepting half a month's rent because one of Dream's ridiculously long legs jostled the power cord on his monitor. 

"The problem is you've got legs like a gazelle," Hob tells him, "and the state of your desk is enough to drive a man to tears."

Dream's mouth twitches. So close to a smile, Hob feels a spark of pride. "Legs like a gazelle?" 

It's the same low rumble of a voice that had shocked Hob the first time he'd heard it, and Hob would blush at the way Dream's staring, dark eyebrows raised near to his hairline, if he weren't already so desensitized. 

Hob clears his throat instead, and tucks a stray bit of hair behind his ear. "I'm coming back tomorrow. You're due for a lesson in cable management."

seriously though I was probably like. 60-80% thinking we'd get at least one tweel for chapter 10. but I was NOT expecting it so soon! both of 'em! in August! a shame we're not getting a Coral Sea event after all...but I guess I can be resigned to that and ALSO excited for getting shiny sparkly glowing(!!!!) mertwins along with Azul fighting his inner demons and going right for the eyes! AHHHH I CAN'T WAIT

thinking about wayne and eddie going on an annual fishing trip (like thee Munson Men Annual Fishing Trip™️) just like a little weekend away. and the first one is coming up after eddie and steve starts dating. over breakfast eddie jokingly complains about having to go and tries to get out of it. but wayne is used to his dramatics so he just gives hmms when appropriate because eddie’s whole spiel never got him out of it before and he tells eddie that.

steve watches the whole exchange with amusement when wayne asks if he’s looking forward to it. and he’s like ??? because he assumed it was just a wayne and eddie thing. and wayne is like i just told eddie all munsons must go can’t get out of it kid.

steve gets flustered and is internally is like oh??? all munsons,,,

or like after the trip a neighbor asks wayne if they caught anything and he pulls out his wallet to show a picture they took on the trip. wayne passes it with ‘here’s a picture of my boys’ and to steve’s surprise it’s a picture of both him and eddie with their biggest catch.

and just idk wayne casually accepting steve into their family and throwing steve off guard with it.

I just thought of Izuku immediately shooting up in the hero rankings like a week after he becomes an active pro-hero again because everyone is so happy that he's back and Katsuki wants to be annoyed that Izuku ranked higher than him so quickly like he would've been, once upon a time, but he really can't be because this is what he worked eight years to see, and now he can finally compete with him again. So he sits in his apartment, TV on, watching Izuku try not to stutter his way through his first returning interview with fondness and pride, and thinks it's finally time to put some actual effort into climbing higher on the hero rankings.

(Not that being #1 is his priority anymore. He's just happy that he gets to fight alongside Izuku again, that they can compete with one another as equals, and that they can complete one another like two sides of the same coin. For the rest of their lives.)

Daryl’s kid asking him about his scars for the first time, with Daryl having to explain to the innocently curious three year old what happened in a way that they would understand.

And you helping him come up with terms so that he doesn’t outrightly have to say what had happened.

“A very bad man gave Daddy those boo-boos long ago.”

And Daryl having to hold back tears because after the explanation, his baby’s featherlight fingers touched his scars and they looked over to you and innocently asked you to kiss his scars because “Mama’s kisses make boo-boos better.”

“Don’t worry, Daddy. Mama make better.”

Thinking about Eddie opening the door to Steve for their first date.

His hair is combed back with water, his bangs parted to the side and curls slicked back away from his face, but the waves are still unruly at the back of his head. He’s wearing an old denim shirt of Wayne’s, buttons done up all the way and it’s tucked into his jeans. No handcuff belt and his sneakers look freshly cleaned. He’s clutching wildflowers in his fist, eyes wide and scared. He bounces on his toes as his mouth fights against his grin.

Steve can’t believe what he’s seeing. He’s never been so exited for a date before. He’s never had a date look so exited to see him. He spins his keys on his finger, once, twice; a nervous habit.

‘Yo-you look, uh, really nice.’ He stammers, and watches Eddie’s nervous smile bloom.
