I was wondering what your headcanon was for when Kakashi and Gai get together?

I’m torn between there never together until after the war

And

They were kinda together before Kakashi’s ANBU days but Kakashi couldn’t fully be in it and Kakashi pushed Gai away and they break up and then eventually get back together much later

Also it definitely seemed like leading up to the war Kakashi was letting Gai in more (we see this in 219 and 241 of Shipuden) what do you think let up to that?

I kinda feel like dying maybe brought light to some of Kakashi’s feelings for Gai.

Btw sorry if this has been asked before. I recently started following you and am obsessed with your Kakagai HCs. I could ask you a million questions

I am in the camp of ‘They don’t get together until after the war’. I do love to explore the ‘what if’ about them getting together long before that of course, but with all the things Kakashi struggles with and how much he pushes others away i don’t think the two of them would ever become official until after the war.

When Kakashi has had some closure on Obito and Rin’s death

When he’s also thought of a continued existence without Gai by his side and realized how much more that would hurt

And most importantly when he’s finally ready to open up completely and let Gai in. Before the war, as you said, we saw Kakashi opening up a little bit more and saw just how deeply he trusted Gai, but he was still careful about keeping gai at arms length while still also having him by his side

After the war it’s as if that arms length guard dropped

In the last movie Gai was standing at Kakashi’s side when the world might end, and the theme of that movie was ‘who would you spend your last day on earth with’ and they answered that for Kakashi and Gai without having to say anything. They showed us who their person was, and it was each other. I still think that was the cutest damn thing.

There’s also the fact Kakashi is able to relax not just because of closure, but because he’s no longer needed as the one who goes on all of the toughest missions for tsunade. Their students have stepped up and Kakashi is finally allowed to take a step back which i think helps him a lot in regards to a relationship because he’s no li no longer going out on back to back missions that he might never return from.

He’s not worried so much about him or gai leaving and never coming back.

So i really think Kakashi and Gai would properly get together after the war. When the dust has settled, they’ve mourned their loses and they’ve found their new pace in the world

i thought of it a while back bcuz they seem like a great pair n i was now like getting back into it

but yea, i was thinkin of hobie pavitr n margo meetin lucas and instantly fallin for him bcuz of his charm it’s literal bonus points if it’s afro latino lucas (i love him sm, could you tell?)

but like rio would absolutely love lucas because he has manners (*cough* *cough* doesn’t call miles’ parents by their first names *cough* *cough*) and he loves helping in the kitchen

i can see him and rio going on little dates as mother and son in law because lord knows rio is gonna force miles to keep lucas like how could he not? i feel like lucas n jeff would be a little iffy at first (with his experience w cops) but i feel like they would look at it and play basketball together.

aarons still alive in my head so him meeting lucas would be a trip like they say hi and everything the next you know he’s callin lucas his future nephew, miles’ just happy his family loves his boyfriend

OH MY GOD I FORGOT cookouts r the bomb once they get together, miles meeting the sinclairs omg erica would be suspicious at first bcuz of jason (she knew lucas was bi before he did) but then she warms up to him and asks him about his art and how long he’s plannin on staying in the family bcuz you gon stay forever. sue is the same way, she fell in love with miles and how he treats lucas and she’s callin him her son in law and constantly asking when miles’ coming over so she can have him taste her cooking, let’s just say, them boys never going hungry… 😅 miles and charles wouldn’t be so sure of each other, but they would eventually warm up, i feel charles had some homo feelings himself back in the day but repressed them and never acted on them, miles n him bond over that and the rest is historyz

OMG lucas and billie (if shes ever introduced) he would treat her like his own sister, he already got a sister but him and billie would be so attached to each other like miles and lucas always have her and whenever lucas comes over the first thing is asks is where’s billie (miles is slightly hurt by this but lucas fixes it w kisses) like as soon as they get billie, it’s over. they pretending like she’s their own daughter and playing family together ahhhhhhh

you can tell i love them so much, i need to make headcanons i need to make more content THEYVE TAKEN OVER MY BRAIN ‼️‼️ 😭😭

and since i had some time, i thought i'd draw all my moons and some yummy festival sweets (all prepared by chef Moon of course!)

Moonie's from my chibi AU, "Rain or Shine". a rambunctious little guy who loves playing with his Sunny

Moondrop's from my hairdresser AU, "New 'Do, Same You". a Moon in a glamrock-style casing, who's pretty chill but insecure

Mooncake's from my restaurant AU, "Have You Eaten?" a hopeless romantic chef who loves cooking yummy foods!

13's from my dystopian AU. he's a sheltered, naive little Moon bot who is curious to learn about the world outside the palace

Miel is from my idol AU. she's an ex-Moon bot, turned nanny bot, turned rapper of an idol duo (she sings too tho!)

and the menu:

tsukimi dango are plain Japanese dumplings made of rice flour and glutinous rice flour, resembling the full moon

mooncakes are Chinese treat with various skins and fillings, but traditionally they are a pastry filled with lotus seed paste and a salted duck egg yolk to resemble the full moon

songpyeon are a Korean rice cake with various types of fillings—red beans, dates, sesame seeds, honey, and more!
