though it was late, the lights of your bedroom filled the house. you sat in bed, reading a book that you’d randomly grabbed off of the shelf in the room. your eyes lazily moved over the pages, using the words as a way to pass the time rather than for your own interest.

you turned your head to look at the clock, it was 1:54 a.m. while it wasn’t unusual for jackson to return home late, it wasn’t usually this late. you sighed; eyes returning to the book that was held in your hands.

jackson had never told you the details of what he did for work. you were too innocent— too naive. he found that charming, though; he found your innocence adorable. he was too far gone, too attached to you— completely enveloped by your innocence. he didn’t want to break that.

your eyes had started to close as you slowly dozed off. your eyes snapped open when you heard the front door open downstairs, closing quickly. you heard his footsteps ascend the stairs and watched as he made his way into the bedroom.

“jackson-”

your words were cut off when you saw his face. it was covered in dark bruises, small cuts lining his cheek and dried blood around his nose. the area under one of his eyes was dark and bruised, and a small cut sat on his bottom lip.

“jackson?! what happened to you?”

you rushed to stand up to him, eyes scanning his face for more injury. he shrugged.

“caught a guy trying to break into my car is all, wrong place at the wrong time, i guess.”

“he got you pretty good, jackson.”

you ran your fingers over his bruised cheek.

“nothing i can’t handle, sweetheart.”

what appeared to be a smile formed on his lips. jackson reached a hand up to brush his thumb against your cheek. you were adorable when you were worried.

“let me help you get cleaned up. stay here.”

you walked off to the bathroom attached to the bedroom. sitting on the edge of the bed, jackson untied his shoes and kicked them off. he took off his blazer, laying it on the bed. he unbuttoned his shirt, then his pants, dragging them off.

you returned a few minutes later, a damp washcloth in one hand and a box of bandages in the other. jackson was on the edge of the bed, left in his undershirt and boxers.

“just sit still.”

“be gentle, please.”

jackson smiled, his words dripping with the imitation of worry.

you raised the washcloth to the small cuts you saw on his face. he winced slightly when the warmth of the washcloth touched the sensitive, bruised skin. after a few minutes, you pulled the washcloth away.

“looks better already.”

you smiled and applied small bandages to his cuts, careful to not hurt him.

“lay down, i’ll be back in a minute.”

you picked up the washcloth and box of bandages and returned them to the bathroom. you walked back out, climbing into bed next to jackson.

when he turned to wrap his arms around you, you stopped him.

“oh? what’s this?”

jackson looked at you, his blue eyes searching through the innocence in yours.

“gonna hold you tonight, rippner. i think you deserve it.”

jackson was usually the one in control, but sometimes he enjoyed when you took over for him. he accepted your embrace when you wrapped yourself around him.

“just be careful from now on, please.”

jackson smiled when he heard your mumbled words come from where your head laid against his chest. the pain in his face was numbed by your warmth, and in these moments, he swore he wanted to tell you everything.

I have also been thinking very hard about that yandere researcher reader (who works at a rehab) × mer azul thought you posted!! you don't see much yandere reader going around so it's a fresh idea. I imagine reader would need to constantly keep azul drugged while he's in their home (which must be massive to house azul??) since he's so much stronger and bigger than them. maybe eventually the constant "love" and care reader gives him and the mentally addled state azul is in would even wear him down to reciprocate. I have to say I'm quite weak to Stockholm syndrome love interests so this thought has me on my knees 👉👈

Aaa yes!! I'm also weak for Stockholm syndrome love interests! And writing it with Azul is just so good. Reader would definitely have to keep him drugged because of how strong and big he is, and if he's completely in control he could easily destroy the enclosure he's kept in as well as the surroundings. And all it would take is one tentacle to curl around the reader and squeeze particularly hard. I like to think Azul struggles to keep his grip strength in check, especially when he's more emotional, so that's another reason the reader will keep him sedated.

Azul has no one else to rely on in this situation. No one to talk to or see, other than the reader. Eventually he'll have to choose between you or loneliness, and since you're the lesser of two evils... Azul will tell himself that this situation isn't bad. It could be worse. Very worse. But it's not and you obviously care for him immensely. Perhaps it won't be so terrible if he accepts this new lifestyle, as stifling and unhealthy as it may be.

No matter what you do to him, Azul can't bring himself to seriously hurt you. After all, you were the one who snipped him free of those dreadful fishing lines, all while mumbling so sweetly. - Doesn’t mind it at all in fact he loves the fact that you would seek out his touch in a moment of need

- Will hug you back any time you need them and i mean they will properly snuggle the two of you together

- Will mumble comforting stuff in your ear and hum softly to try and comfort you even more

- It surprised him when you did it and so he probably jumped about 10ft in the air but when he returned to the ground he apologised and accepted the hug

- Touch starved baby probably does the same thing to you since he likes affection and hasn’t had it in a long time

- Hugs for comfort are like a daily occurrence since you both love them so much and they make you both feel loved and happy

Sometimes he finds himself almost forgetting. Finds himself fully in the mindset of an excitable elementary schooler. He’ll do thinks with a certain level of immaturity--a level of about a 1st grader. He’ll run and play games outside that he wouldn’t have played even when he was small the first time. Even let out a playful laugh as he falls or jumps off a swing.

The reminders that his situations is abnormal--that he needs to return to his proper age and identity were more jarring than any of his natural reactions and thoughts.

The reminders were in the way Ayumi would sometimes pause in her excitement about a game or a story as she realized how close she was to him. The pink that would brush her cheeks. How her smile would momentarily break only to recover--or rather, revive, all the stronger.

In how a stark contrast of color(black or red, mainly black), the mention of a fancy alcoholic beverage(gin being the worst), or even a second too long of a lingering glance would set Haibara entirely on edge. How she’d tuck behind him or hold her elbows as if trying to warm herself up.

It was in the deep, raspy, overly familiar callings of his name. His old name. A family name he was proud to carry, “Kudou”. Always said in such a think Osakan accent. In how Hattori would scratch the back of his head as he halfheartedly apologized or be repeatedly surprised that he still hadn’t been found out or told anyone else.

In how an agent would enter and leave his old home on a regular basis. Read from his family’s collections. How the house was more Subaru’s than his own now. The manor of the silver bullets.  In Agasa’s silly quizzes that were increasingly common the longer he was smaller. His size may have shrunk, but their difficulty hadn’t changed--as in they were over the top easy to a point where they were more buggy than fun. 

In his very own face. When Kaitou Kid was feeling annoying, familiar, or helpful enough to borrow it.

But, predominantly, it was apparent in Ran’s tears. The ones she’d hide behind her hands at night. The trust, patience, anger... The was she’d still perk up at the mention of him--the older him. How she’d get embarrassed or lost in thought. His own memories of being pulled in by his tie for a kiss on his cheek. How despite how close they were, that he couldn’t fluster her back. Couldn’t even hold her.

It was at these times--in these reminders... that he’d feel shame for getting caught up in his own childish illusion. Humiliated by a wave of implacable regret(loneliness).

● you absolutely love baking- theres only one problem, your pretty short and you can’t reach for ingredients on high shelves which is kind of an issue.

● you’d have to ask Eren (him and his 6ft ass 😭✋) to grab it for you 

● he would tease you so much omfg- 

● “awee are you to short to reach it?” “hey >:[ please just get (whatever ingredient)” “okay okay-” 

● if you did actually try to reach stuff on the shelf you’d use your tippy toes and he would come up behind you and grab it for you

● “is this what your looking for?” “yes thank you!” *kith* 

● sometimes if the item was flour it would sprinkle some on your shirt and his shirt- 

● “ah- shit sorry y/n!” 

● would try to help you bake 

● it would turn into a full on flour fight 

● if he didn’t help you bake he would just watch you as you were baking and look at you with heart eyes basically 

● man if you asked him to try whatever you were baking he would be so excited

scenario ♡

One time you were baking cinnamon buns for your friends, specifically Sasha. You knew how much she loved your baking so you wanted to make her some. 

As you were mixing the batter together your boyfriend Eren came downstairs, he was wearing a red hoodie, black sweatpants and his hair was half a man bun. 

“Hey baby, what’re you making?” He asked coming up behind you to kiss you.

“Cinnamon rolls for Sash.” You claimed kissing him back.

“Oooh can I watch you?” He asked hugging your waist.

“Of course!” You smiled.

He went to sit down and watched you, his eyes looked like love hearts (😍 this emoji basically). You were now kneading the dough, you rolled it out and all you needed was cinnamon and some brown sugar. 

Slight problem though, it was on the top shelf, do you know why? No, god forbid whoever put those on the top shelf. 

You tried getting it yourself, but you were  visibly struggling. You were on your tippy toes trying to reach. It was no use, Eren saw this and came up behind you and grabbed the two things you needed so effortlessly. 

“Is this what you needed baby?” He said giving it to you.

“Yeah! Thank you bub!” You pecked him on the lips. 

Finally you put those two ingredients in the dough and rolled it up, cut it and put it on the baking sheet. You opened the oven and felt the hot air on your face and put the cinnamon buns inside. 

After what felt like forever you put out the cinnamon buns out of the oven and onto the counter. Your house smelled like cinnamon, a comforting smell specially on a cold winter day. He looked excited, with a small sparkle in his eyes. 

“Geez, these smell so good!” He exclaimed. 

“Thank you babie!” You walked up to him to give him a proper kiss on the lips.

You left them to cool down, so you and Eren went to the couch to cuddle and watch a Disney movie. 

You both fell asleep, you gave the cinnamon buns to Sasha, Armin, Mikasa, etc. Let’s say they were all happy when they received them.

but uh

to answer your question, i can indeed give you some stuffs abt my ocs (though i won't go too much into detail bc i will eventually finish up my fanseason. then all shall be reveALED)

ofc my main gals are Yuuki and Mei Mitsukaru -- the "'karu sisters"

Yuuki is a sorceress in her early 20's who's the leader of a serpentine tribe of mages called the "haven rattlers." She's tender, charismatic, and a bit clingy. At some point she worked for Master Chen and trained in dark magic under Clouse. Her specialty magic is crystaline, and nowadays she tries to avoid dark magic at all costs. She is deeply smitten with Morro. (And vice versa!) ((covenwind / windchimeshipping)) She also has an owl familiar named Owlfonzo !!

Mei is Yuuki's little sister. She's a 10yr old sorceress and the new self-proclaimed queen of the Ghost Warriors. After extremely unfortunate chain of events, she was banished to the Cursed Realm, being separated from her sister and parents for about a decade (hence the age gap between the sisters). She's impulsive, sarcastic, and carefree spirit. She wields her grandmother's staff and is able to use it as a battleaxe using magic. Her specialty magic is nature, though she uses a dark variant. She absolutely despises Morro and would gladly throw him off a cliff.

The Haven Rattlers tend to just be bg charas, but there are a couple side charas that come into play. Veera and Crystal.

Veera is a young haven constrictai who is Yuuki's personal student in magic. She's about 10yrs old, and is about as calm and collected as ten yr olds come. Veera and Mei are eventually a thing. (dumb lesbian kiddo love) ((blossomshipping))

Crystal is an albino hypnobrai, and is Yuuki's advisor. When Yuuki isn't around, Crystal usually makes sure the island runs smoothly. Her specialty is water magic.

The Haven Dragon (AKA Sir Wigglybutt) is guardian of the former home of the HRs -- Old Haven. Though I mostly consider him Mei's weird flappy dog.

And then outside of the HRs and Karu family, we have Taiga and Madoka. I'll keep them a secret for now ;3c

Aaaand finally we have the next gens - Kieran and Tempest. I don't consider them fully "canon" but it is a concept I like to think about from time to time.

Tempest is Yuuki and Morro's daughter. She practices wind magic and is in her early 20's. She was next in line to be leader of the HRs but stepped down to join the next gen of ninja. She's a bit of the "older sister" of the group, and is a calm, snarky, and genuinely very loving person.

And finally we have Kieran - Yuuki and Morro's adopted serpentine son. He's a haven hypnobrai/venomari mix who consistently chips his right fang by some Mighty Act Of FSM. He's a college student, and is younger sibling to Tempest. He's extremely odd and eccentric, but he loves to make new friends. He will absolutely bring you hot cocoa on a cold day. He's a history nerd and also studies magic (though I haven't decided on a dominant magic type for him.)

i have a ton of modern au (when they start living in the human world?) headcanons that outnumber the regular ones so here’s the whole package

- obviously they share the same house

- somehow took all three of them to figure out how to use the microwave AND the dishwasher

- ray learns how to drive first, then emma, then norman (same order for getting a license)

- emma and norman in ray’s car, bickering about something:

- ray: i swear to god i will do the hokey pokey and turn this car AROUND

- (ray is probably driving them to the movies)

- emma has a husky (yugo), a labrador (lucas), and a pomeranian (musika) !!!

- ray has a black cat! her name is butterfly!

- norman wanted an owl but he happened to find an injured baby osprey one day and now he’s its father

- (little did they know that the osprey is going to take up the most space when it’s fully grown)

- emma falls in love with aquariums; it was love at first sight, and her favorite part is the huge tanks with whales and stingrays in them

- breaking news: ray discovers emo music and now he can’t live without headphones

- ray also learns how to play the guitar; norman picks up playing the piano and emma starts playing the drums soon after

- they all sing well??? (especially ray ofc)

- their first visit to a haunted house was underwhelming for a good number of reasons

- one: jump scares didn’t work on them

- two: emma’s reflex caused her to hit one of the actors on accident

- three: there was a secret camera for the reaction of a huge jump scare and the photo that came out was just the three of them sneering at the “mediocre” scare

- emma is the most active on social media; she runs the pets’ instagram account!!!

- aside from the baby osprey, norman feeds the birds in the neighborhood bc he loves them with all his heart

- ray is mildly angry at norman bc the birds he’s feeding S C R E E C H at 6:30am sharp

- ray sleeps like a cat (shallow sleep most of the time, deep sleep and dreams only in short bursts)

- norman is a pretty sound sleeper (no noise, wakes up when called with no trouble)

- emma is a D I S A S T E R sleeper (loud snores, unconscious position changes every half hour, will not wake up unless it’s Time) (this only applies to human world emma)

- emma’s favorite season is summer; norman’s is spring; ray’s is winter
