answer all the questions in that ask thing, or go through it and just answer all the ones u rlly rlly want to
Sorry this took so long, but you asked for all of them and Iam very emotional.
1.  What episode of Steven Universe got you hooked on the show?
I started watching shortly after Jailbreak came out so I’m not sure if I can pinpoint exactly where I got hooked, but I think it was around Coach Steven of Mirror Gem/Ocean Gem when it really got me. Although, I will say when Sworn to the Sword came out, that’s really when I knew this was it for me.
2. Are you the type to watch episodes as they air, or do you just get your fill of Steven Universe online?
I tried to live watch episode premieres as much as I could, or watch them the day they were posted online by CN. I really tried to make an event out of them, and I’m glad I did.
3. What’s your favorite quote out of the entire show?
It’s really hard to pick just one. Maybe “You have to be honest about how bad it feels, so that you can move on.” - Connie in Mindful Education. Really feeling that one right now.
4.In what ways has Steven Universe inspired you?
I really feel like it has inspired me to live. I havestruggled with depression and anxiety since a young age, so it can be hard todo that. Steven Universe gave me something to look forward to, made the world abetter place. When I was hurting it provided me with comfort and happiness. Thereisn’t another show out there that’s like it for me.
5. Has Steven Universe actually taught you lessons?
Yes, oh god yes. It has helped me to be more honest withmyself and with others. I don’t think I would’ve come out to my family if itweren’t for this show. Over the years, it has really helped me to learn to letgo of shame, and guilt, and self-hatred I had carried around for so long. I wouldn’tbe the person I am today without this show.
6. Favorite character design and why?
I really liked Garnet’s wedding outfit, mixing both the gownand tux. I’m a big Garnet/Rupphire stan and it was just great to see them embracethe queerness of the whole situation, and that it was love, something to becelebrated.
7. Has the show ever gotten an intense emotional reactionout of you? (ex - crying, fear, anger)
I’m crying right now about it, does that answer yourquestion?
8. Do you associate any songs with any characters in StevenUniverse?
I associate Can’t Hold Me by Emily King with Stevonnie becauseit was used in that episode, and I love Stevonnie.
9. Gush about your all-time favorite episode real quick.Just go on a long, rambling tangent about how much you love it. Do it. We’relistening.
For the series proper, it’s Reunited. I love that episode somuch and it makes me cry every time I watch it. Growing up I fell into the ‘notlike other girls’ phase because I was not interested in love and romance likeall my friends seemed to be, and I had no desire to go on dates with guys. Irealize now that I rejected these things because they didn’t fit me. I didn’t wantto be with a guy, and never saw myself in any of the traditional media. Ireally am a bit of a hopeless romantic though. Now that I am more confident inmyself, and understand my feelings better, I’ve really gotten to enjoy thispart of myself.
Ruby and Sapphire are the first couple I really got to experiencethis with, seeing them being cute and together and in love, and the wedding isthe accumulation of all of that. Getting to see these two women in love witheach other celebrate that love as the beautiful thing it truly is means theworld to me. After years of watching this show and growing with it, this episodewas the moment were I finally let go of all my self-hatred for being queer. I justknew in my soul that every hateful thing I had heard or been told about beingqueer was wrong, and that this was the truth, love was the truth. It wasn’tsomething instantaneous, it was something I had been working towards for years, but this episode marked the turning point for me.
10. Gush about your all-time favorite SU character realquick. Just go on a long, rambling tangent about how much you love them. Do it.We’re listening.
I already gushed about Ruby/Sapphire/Garnet a little, solets do Pearl. I just love how even after all she’s been through, she is stillsuch an independent spirit. I know her whole past with Pink/Rose wascomplicated but she still isn’t here to let anyone tell her what to do. She’ssmart, and creative, and resourceful, and goofy and she knows these things butshe also has a lot of self-doubt and seeks validation from others. I relate. But she worked through those things and is in a better state now. Even thoughshe still hurts and is still dealing with the trauma, she is so much better.
I also really relate to how she feels about loving someoneand them not feeling the same way/it not working out. As much as I love Rubyand Sapphire’s relationship, I also think I need Pearl. She defined herself forso long by her relationship but she is her own amazing person. Growing up, Isaw many messages about not letting a relationship with a boy define you. Butwhat about a relationship with a girl? I think there can be so much pressure toprove that you’re really gay by always being in that kind of relationship. ThatI’m not truly queer because of my lack of experiences with women. But that isn’ttrue. Being queer is a part of who I am and that doesn’t change just because Iam or am not in a relationship. My feelings can still be an important part ofme without having to define me by my relationship status, just like Pearl.
11. What fusions do you want to see in the show, and whowould you like them to be voiced by?
I would probably most like to see a fusion of Steven andLapis. Her only experience with fusion was her toxic relationship with Jasper. So I would really like her to have a positive experience with fusion, based ofthe friendship and love she and Steven have for each other. I have no idea whowould voice them though.
12. Which episode do you think has the best aesthetics?
I mean Steven’s fusion dance in Change Your Mind isabsolutely gorgeous. James Baxter ain’t a legend for nothing, and I’m gladRebecca held on to that favor from him. Just everything, Connie’s little walkback, the way White Diamonds eyes open, its all wonderful.
13. List any headcanons you have about any characters.
Pearl is in a happy polyamorous relationship with Bismuth,Volleyball, and Amethyst.
14. Favorite arc out of the show? Why?
The Wedding Arc for reasons I’ve already talked about above, but also Diamond Days because it was everything the whole series was buildingtowards. Just the whole message about how systems hurt people who are deemed ‘different’but that there is hope for a better future with compassion and love, and notbeing afraid to share your feelings is something I really needed.
15. Have you ever made any jokes based on the show? Whichones were the funniest?
So many. One of my most popular was this post from way backwhen in early 2016.
Want a joke for the final? Maybe the real treasure insideRose’s chest was the friends we made along the way.
16. Most misleading episode summary of all time?
I know people freaked out about Rocknaldo because cartoonnetwork promoted it by advertising the appearance of a new gem. I mean, youcould argue technically it was true because Ronaldo made a gemsona, but that isdefinitely not what people took it to mean. I wasn’t really buying it though, cause the title was Rocknaldo. People hate on that episode and I think it’sbecause of the false advertising. It’s really funny though and has one of thebest jokes. “Rock people. They’re putting fluoride in the water supply- Whatthe-They hate men?!”
17. Has Steven Universe inspired any creative ideas ofyours?
I rewrote sleeping beauty but with lesbians because of thisshow. Does that count?
18. If you are a fanartist, which SU character is theeasiest for you to draw?
Not a fanartist, but Amethyst is the easiest for me to drawbecause she’s basically just circles.
19. If you are a fanartist, which SU character is thehardest for you to draw?
Maybe White Diamond, because she’s so detailed. Also, I strugglewith Pearl’s nose lol.
20. If you are a fanfic writer, which SU character is theeasiest for you to write?
Not really a fanfic writer, but Ruby and Sapphire maybebecause I’m gushy like that.
21. If you are a fanfic writer, which SU character is thehardest for you to write?
Jasper. I have a complicated relationship with her, but Iloved her in Future.
22. Have ever practiced voice acting using SU characters? Ifso, which character can you do the most successful impression of?
I don’t practice voice acting, but I do mimic lines from theshow. I think I sound most like White Diamond, hoo boy.
23. Have you ever sang along to SU songs? Which one is theeasiest for you to sing along to?
All the time, in the car, in the shower, around my house. Myfavorite is Here Comes a Thought, because it just helps me so much with myanxiety. The Tale of Steven and Let Us Adore You are definitely in the sweetspot of my vocal range though.
24. Have you ever imagined any of the human characters asgems?
Not really, I’ve more so imagined the gems as humans.
25. Are you big on AUs? Have you created anyyourself?
I like human gem AUs and college AUs.

STEVEN UNIVERSE: THE MOVIE - Personal Commentary
I wrote this to send to a friend, but I decided I might as well post it on here. I did a large portion of this while I was watching the movie, but I did go back and improve on some parts after I was finished, so forgive the inconsistent tenses. I apologise for the length as well, which is a result of me getting completely carried away and analysing a lot of the movie (I bet my English teachers are cheering). Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy my personal thoughts on the Steven Universe movie. (Also, spoilers if you haven’t already watched it.)
- The opening....wow. Not only is it pretty but it's just so dramatic. It reminds me quite a bit of old fashioned Disney musicals (I’m guessing that was their intention). Even the layout of the credits are giving me that vibe. But especially the music. Very fairytale-esque.
- 16 year old Steven, yeah booiii! Now he’s only a few years younger than me. I do like his older voice and design. Bet Zach Callison is relieved that he doesn't have to pitch his voice up high anymore. And I personally really love the pan flag colour scheme of his new outfit. I wonder if they’ll keep it for the season(s) following the movie.
- Aww, the Diamonds are learning. Sort of. They’re maybe just a tad clingy, but that's still improvement. I really love how Steven Universe never makes the 'villians' completely evil, only misguided, and that everyone is capable of changing their ways. Such a great message. (Edit: Ooohh, I unintentionally called what I'd say is the moral of the movie. Noice.)
- Naaww, Steven and Connie are so cute. Steven's happy little grin after the kiss was just adorable.
- Oooh, I like the 'Here We Are in the Future' (Edit: 'Happily Ever After') song. It just shows how much they've all grown over the course of the series. And it’s a great way to recap the journeys of each of the original Crystal Gems to the audience.
- "PEW PEW" Yeesss. I love their handshake. And oh my god, he really is so tall compared to Amethyst now.
- Oh my god, they're reenacting the running sequence from the opening. Love me a parallel. Just shows how far they’ve all come.
-Okay, why do the 'bad' guys in musicals always get such cool songs? Spinel's song was so catchy. Now I'm super curious about her relation to Pink Diamond. Oh cool! A scythe. That's awesome.....AH! Okay, nevermind. Nooo.
- 'Losing your powers' angst. I love it (yes, I know, I'm terrible).
- Greg: "Holy shhhhhheee really got everybody" Me: 😏 I see what you did there.
- Steven: "I have no idea what's going on." Greg: "Well now you know how I feel most of the time." Greg is so relatable sometimes. Kindly stop being my spirit animal, sir.
- AHHH! They've all been reset. Craaappp! And I was just going on about growth and everything! But I'm excited to see what happens because I love angst, god damn it. It always helps to make the happy ending all the more satisfying. (And...admittedly, the amnesia narrative device has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I’ve always enjoyed how it allows you to so clearly see how a character has evolved over time and how much their experiences have defined their identity.)
- "Something is clearly wrong," Pearl sings happily and bug-eyed. Excellent and relatable. That's how I react to most things in life, honestly.
- "I could have lost all of my character development." Ha! Never subtle, are you Peridot? But also nooooo, not Peridot. Don't you dare touch her. She's grown so much and I love her dearly (and also Lapis' top notch dark humour. Perfect.)
- Sad song reprise is sad. I totally understand what Steven is feeling too. Things you’ve gotten so used to (hell, maybe even become dependent on for your emotional welbeing) can disappear so quickly that it can be quite a whiplash to have it gone, so it's completely normal to struggle to accept it, and to yearn for what you had not so long ago.
- Bismuth saying “We are the Crystal Gems” has watered my crops and cleared my skin. And I love her singing voice; the roughness in some parts suits her character so well.
- Rupphire Rupphire RUPPHIRE GAAAARRRNNNEEETTT, yiissss! Wow the fusion animation is really awesome. It's like a behind-the-scenes on how it works from their perspective. But I love how the two of them fusing together doesn't fix Garnet's memories or make her exactly how she was before losing them. Garnet isn't just an experience; she's also a product of her experiences.
- Lil' trumpet salute! Naww, Pearl, that's adorable.
- ....is Onion....immortal? He still looks exactly the same. 😟 I'm unnerved by that child and whatever power he had.
- Oooh, tap dancing. I love tap dancing! Even if Steven is wearing sandals while doing it. Oh boy, I love the friendship between Amethyst and Steven. It's always been one of my favourite things in the show. It's kind of like the sibling interaction I've always wished to have myself: supportive and wholesome. And I also love how their fusion shows that platonic and familial love is just as powerful as romantic love. Oh, YAY Amethyst is back! Like I said, friendship is a powerful thing.
- Oh my god, Steven and Greg are going to fuse. Ahhhh! Oh wow, it's basically Elvis with a six pack! Hehehe, so weird. But not bad either. And, oh wow, what a great song! Individuality is my kink.
- The ANGST is making me feel emotions. Steven looks so ragged, and the high pitched whining in his ears definitely added to that. And having felt that terrible myself a few times, I know how much it frigging sucks. And just like him I brushed other people's concerns off, so I'd be a hypocrite to tell him to take care of himself. (But I am a hypocrite. Take care of yourself, Steven!)
- Yep, here's the tragic backstory to make me sad about Spinel. Hit me where it hurts why don't you. Gosh, Pink Diamond really did some messed up things when she was younger (but thankfully she evolved from that and changed to become Steven). Leaving someone behind without giving them closure or even a reason would mess someone up for sure. You'd feel completely worthless. And unfortunately, being noticed for any reason—good or bad—is generally a way to cope with that feeling. Spinel is doing what she can to deal with what Pink did to her, and that unfortunately involves lashing out and hurting others.
- The 'True Kinda Love' song! Knew it'd turn up at one point. Knowing the context makes it so much better too. And hell yeah, Garnet is back!
- Blood? On this Christian Server? It's more likely than you think.
- “This is the story of my life.” Ahh! Steven's just a kid, and he's gone through so much. But, I gotta say, he is absolute proof that having a rough childhood and being a flawed person in the past (*cough* Pink Diamond *cough*) doesn't condemn you to being a wicked person forever. Anyone, regardless of their circumstances and experiences, can be a good person. Your early years don't define your identity or what will become of your future.
- Spinel: “When you change, you change for the better. When I change, I change for the worse. I used to be just not good, just not good enough for Pink. Now I'm not good at all!” Damn. That's powerful. Trauma can be such a difficult thing to overcome, and some people lose their way in their attempt to leave it behind. Sometimes, though, growing doesn't mean changing yourself and erasing the past; sometimes it means accepting the parts of your past that made you who you are now. Showing the importance of past experiences through the Crystal Gem's recovery of their identities is such a smart way of showing this concept to the audience. Such a great analogy. Now, let's hope Spinel can accept that though she has been changed as a result of her trauma, that doesn't make her ‘bad’ or unworthy of love (because that’s just not true!)
- “There's no such thing as happily ever after”. Sad but true. And also turning the whole Disney vibe the movie began with in on its head. Very smart.
- Steven: “I'll always have more work to do”. Then, Spinel: “I've got work to do. Friendship isn't going to be easy for me. I'm gonna have to work at it”. Exactly. That's how it is. ‘Happily ever after’ is a stagnant concept, and staying the same person for the rest of your life isn't healthy. And deciding to work towards improving yourself can sometimes be the hardest step to take when it comes to overcoming trauma. But change can be good; you should always keep working on improving yourself, no matter how comfortable you are with who you are and where you're at. Evolution is a part of living.
- Ooooh, White Diamond got sassy. She even has the hand gestures down. She’s making up for all the years she spent T-posing.Good for her.
- Oh my gosh, the focus on the Diamond's hands! Instead of destroying, their holding a hand out in a gesture of friendship. Seriously, that's frigging growth. That's such a cool parallel too. Rebecca Sugar and her crew are just brilliant.
- I'm so glad the Diamonds got someone to love and help them through their grief, and Spinel got someone to love her unconditionally, regardless of the flaws she thinks she has. They all got someone to help them heal. That’s wonderful.
- “I can make a change.” 👏Yes👏you👏can! That's your superpower.
Damn, that was so wonderful! I've always loved the message of personal growth, and the movie did it so well. In my opinion, Steven Universe has always been great at analogies to explain real life things (ie. Malachite being a metaphor for toxic relationships) so I really like how they used to amnesia narrative device to show not only how much someone can change and grow over time, but also to show it's our experiences, good and bad, that shape us as a person. Lots of people have traumatic experiences in their life that can inadvertantly shape a lot of their personality, and it can be hard to leave that behind, especially if so much of your identity is dependent on those experiences. Sometimes they can lead us to becoming ‘bad’ people, but they can also help make us good people too. Just look at Steven! He was able to accept his past traumas and use them so as to help others heal their own.
Trauma isn't something you can erase without erasing a large part of your identity. It can be tough to live with, nonetheless. Sometimes, like Spinel, you just need a helping hand in accepting the scars life has given you; to help you grow beyond it and maybe even eventually be able to help others who are going/have gone through similar experiences.
And there's no shame in trying to be better and failing over and over again. At least you are trying. Because trying to be good against all odds, against the whole world doing its best to destroy you, shows just how strong you really are.
-----------
Sorry for getting flowery (and maybe just a tad projective). As you can see I just really like the moral of the movie, as well as pretty much every other aspect. I'm sure there's a lot of little intricacies I missed, but this is what I took from my first viewing of it. And these are just my opinions; you might have got a whole different vibe from the movie. You are completely welcome to add you own thoughts and improve upon mine (because I am by no means an expert).
So, to summarise my own thoughts on the movie, I’m just going to say: Personal growth for the win!

So, you hear lot about the Cool Kids as analogs of the Crystal Gems. I have many theories now about Dewey and Jamie being analogs for Ruby and Sapphire (and becoming a ship as a result) since Reunited aired, snapping and crackling in my brain like the small twigs of an eastern European pine forest. Here are six points I've been thinking about for an unhealthy amount of time:
Point 1: Color palettes
Bill's color palette is kind of hard to ignore - it's about as close as you could get to making one of the human characters bright ruby red - pretty much a coral color. Jamie’s default mailman outfit is blue, kind of like Sapphire - simple enough.
Tumblr media
You'd think Bill’s suit is just grey, but that's a weird color theory thing going on - it's actually shades of purple! Ruby has a little dark purple in her outfit - Garnet has even more. Also, Bill and Jamie also have one bit of blue and red each - Jamie with his chucks and Bill with his tie.
Their appearance in the rupphire wedding is a rubber mallet to the skull as color palettes are concerned:
Tumblr media
Bill has ditched the tie, so he has a bit of blue around his shirt collar. Jamie’s belt is dark red. That’s two instances now of hinting at each other’s colors somewhere in their outfits!
This is also the only time I think we see Jamie in a blue shirt that isn’t his work uniform - why blue? Dude wears blue all the time at his day job and his one dressy shirt happens to be blue, too? This feels SO INTENTIONAL.
Point 2: Watery stuff and firey stuff
Jamie ends up in or around water a lot!
In Love Letters alone there’s a ton of stuff - being a total moon calf out in the rain; throwing the mail he was supposed to deliver into the ocean. Then there’s Garnet’s line that first gets Jamie sweet on her in the first place: “I’m a really good swimmer.” Swimming! Water!
He throws a bucket of water on Steven in Historical Friction
He ends up *in the ocean* with the others in I Am My Mom.
You might make a parallel with him and Lapis here because it’s water instead of ice, but water in some form is a common theme with the gems of Blue Diamond's court, so to me it points to a Sapphire thing. Water here = ice. I’d even predict something happening in a future episode with Jamie being cold or dealing with ice - we’ll see!
There’s also the whole theme of Blue Diamond's gems being more emotionally-focused, too. An analogous human would wear his heart on his sleeve a bit - falling in love at the drop of a hat, being overly dramatic and so on.
Warmth or fire tends to be a running theme for Bill, some of the most obvious things:
Melting ice cream in Joking Victim *and* Political Power.
The fireworks show he arranged.
Steven’s bit in Political Power about how, "Mayor Dewey was hiding things from you ... because he loves you," and then you see a shot of a nice fire in the fireplace.
His skin color is basically a perpetual sunburn.
In Political Power, Bill has the line, “you can't control what happens in the world but you can control how people feel about it - that's the real weight I carry - making the good people of Beach City feel better...” Now, he isn’t very successful at keeping people calm ultimately, but he tries, and even references Ocean Town being destroyed because of people rioting/panicking! Water = emotions Fire = composure.
There's weird bits of crossover here, too: Bill gets sprayed in his first appearance, and Jamie accidentally sets his quill on fire while writing his letter to Garnet. They don't do well using each other's elements, do they!
There is only one big counterexample to this I can find, yet even THAT is telling. To be fair, Bill is very much The Boss in Historical Friction and even a bit of a jerk, but then you see this bit at the end?
Tumblr media
Jamie gets a fire in his eyes when he gets the position as director of the community theater. Who really started that fire, though? Who gave Jamie all that power? Bill did.
Point 3: Bill has a type
Bill has a crush on Pearl! And hats off to Pewey shippers - ship what you want and live your best life! But I'm afraid I have to bring this ship up from the depths just to sink it, because for my purposes it's a red herring:
Out of the main three Crystal Gems, who does Jamie portray best? Pearl!
Bill is into slender types with big noses, basically. There’s some fun headcanoning to be done about WHY Bill is so ridiculously transparent with Pearl and this hasn't been the case around Jamie. Perhaps he's over-compensating for a crush on Jamie? Perhaps he never thought of Jamie like that before and that will lead to a bit of development for them both? Now that Bill isn't mayor anymore, maybe he feels he can be a little more open about himself. Who knows?
Point 4: SU Tap Together
This post on the SU Tap Together game. tl;dr - they give Dewey and Jamie VERY SIMILAR abilities to Ruby and Sapphire as starters. I doubt it's coincidental.
Point 5: Buck’s dad
Pretty much the whole fandom agrees that Buck is an analog for Garnet. In some way, Garnet is the product of Ruby and Sapphire. Would it not make sense that Buck would have two dads to parallel Garnet's two 'moms'?
I am calling it now - Buck is going to get a second dad - a dad that can ultimately help foster his interest in art in a healthy, supportive way that his other dad hasn't been able to do up to now; a dad who is a creator and artist in his own way - as an actor! Jamie's gonna become Buck's second dad!
Point 6: It's time!
This is more meta, but we have several canon/near-canon fem ships. Would this show really have SO many sapphic and het ships and then have little-to-no men together? It just feels like next logical step to ALL THE inclusiveness that makes this show what it is! Dewmie is endgame! Soylent Green is people!
That's pretty much it. I’m kicking myself because way back, with all the hints at Garnet being a fusion so early, we all might have missed one of the most obvious ones - that the analogs for the gems that made her up as a fusion were there from the beginning and no one noticed!
So, that's it. Grab a brochure and a stale cookie on your way out. Thanks for reading!

A theory on Peridot’s relationships *Potential Spoilers ahead, and ship warning*
SU things are usually what I don’t post, but here’s another Peridot theory.
**DISCLAIMER** I’m not trying to attack people for their ships and I’ll respect people’s opinion’s, but here’s my prediction on which Peridot pairing will be the most likely to be canon. I know some points of this has probably been brought up elseware, so credit to those people.
I think that the Lapidot ship will be the more platonic love ship in the series, and the Amedot ship will be the romantic ship. Don’t get me wrong, my preferred pairing is Lapidot, but by how the narrative is going right now, here are the hints that I think that the canon romantic pairing will be Amedot:
-Peridot and Amethyst will create the "perma-fusion"  of Prailosite, which is essentially a green-amethyst that has been heat treated. It matches perfectly with Peridot's whole "Peridotite" speech in Gem Drill. (I wasn't able to find much info on Prailosite, other than it's a gem of courage; which Peridot and Amethyst show off exceptionally well.)
-Unlike Lapis and her fusion with Peridot, Prailosite's fusion will be more stable and add up individually to make a whole gem but with it's powers doubled of that of a regular gem (credit to fantheoriesandfoodporn for pointing this out). Amethyst is an over-cooked runt who views herself as weak and all she can do is shapeshift, and Peridot is a gem who lacks the standard shapeshifting ability and the only thing that she has going for is her big brain.
-All possible hints/foreshadowing/proof;
-Most of the meepmorps have something 'off' about them (somebody from Reddit brought this part of the theory up, but I forgot who they were so credit to them) In Beta, what especially caught my eye was the broken tape recorder, and Peridot's ramblings about it. If Lapis and Peridot truly loved each other in the barn, then the meepmorps would of been more about the positives about their relationship, not the negatives.
-Percy and Pierre: The Crewniverse could be trying to trick us with this one, as the foreshadowing seems more blatent at first. I think that this further hints at Lapis' and Peridot's relationship being more to it than it first appears, with Percy actually being Lapis and Paulette being Peridot (I forgot who on Reddit brought this up but credit to whoever pointed this out.) Basically, Peridot wants to secretly fuse with Lapis, because Peridot wants to be more powerful due to how Homeworld views fusion as power. Lapis however, is why the relationship is not-so-good because "she is afraid she would be trapped again" like with Percy (remember, the roles are switched here) being trapped in the TV meepmorp, Lapis being trapped in the mirror, and being trapped with Jasper underneath the ocean as Malachite.
-The 'secret'- like how this relationship parallels Larsadie and (more of) Rupphire, this relationship also relavates back to Pearl and Rose Quartz'/Pink Diamonds' relationship. Like how we learn that Garnet is a fusion between Ruby and Sapphire and that Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond, there could be a secret to this one too, and the secret could be that Lapis and Peridot were trying to hide any abuse or negativeity in their relationship.
-The New Crystal Gems- in this episode, Lapis wants to be Garnet (the fusion) along with Peridot. Both seem like a stable fusion at first, but then things quickly spiral out of control. Even Lapis says "there is no Amethyst, only Garnet!" which could be the swap again, with Lapis being Peridot and Peridot being Lapis. Lapis could be saying this to Peridot subtlely in order to convince or mirror her in a way that fusing with her is not going to be the best idea. Even there is a fight that takes place afterward, where they both fight over who should be the "Garnet".
-Maybe Peridot secretly wants to be in what she thinks would be "the perfect" fusion with Lapis, but Lapis doesn't trust her after what she went through. Later, Peridot and Steven learn that 'you can't force people to love each other and that love takes time" and that "no fusion is perfect, but that is what makes them unique." This eventually leads to Peridot being in a romatic relationship with Amethyst (note: Amethyst being in a romantic relationship was also hevaily hinted by Amethyst's VA wanting Amethyst to be in a romantic relationship by the end of the show)
-Amethyst's friendly and trusting relationship torwards Peridot (and Peridot's friendly and trusting relationship torwards Amethyst) and the one brief scene where Amethyst and Peridot both look at each other, often times this is used in anime to signify or foreshadow that the two lookers on the screen will be in a romantic relationship.  Even though more recent episodes don't seem to show Amethyst's and Peridot's relationship growing any further, I feel that the Crewniverse will save these moments sometime after when Peridot learns her lesson.
-Barn Mates and Reunited: In the promo art for Barn Mates, we can see a chemical equation that says Barn^2 > Mates^3; and in Reunited, Lapis drops the barn on Blue Diamond. This could represent the Barn (Peridot and Lapis) causing nothing but anger and sorrow for the both of them, since they were both poofed by their former Diamonds, while Mates (this is a bit of a stretch, I know) could represent the shorty squad (a.k.a. Steven, Peridot, and Amethyst) and since the barn itself was destroyed in the aftermath, this could be another reverse trick scenario like with Camp Pinning Hearts, where the 'Mates' represent the real trust and chemistry (not exactly romantic love at first). In fact, the promo art even subtly hints at this moral by Peridot attempting to get Lapis to watch her chemistry (or love her) but Lapis herself turns away, and looks like she doesn't want to watch her (or like Peridot).
-The Cookie Cat rap: going back to the Rose Quartz/Pearl parallel, we all know that the Cookie Cat rap in episode 1 contained tons of foreshadowing. Here's how the rap could represent the Lapis/Peridot relationship:
"He's a refugee from an interstellar war"- Representing the "diamond war" that Lapis is going through with Peridot. As a result of this, Lapis escapes to the moon (like how PD rebels against the other Diamonds)
"He left his family behind"- This is represented by the fact that Lapis breaks up with Peridot and Pumpkin (the family) and results in her going to the moon, because she doesn't want to deal with Peridot anymore. (even though one could argue that she comes back in Reunited)
"What?! You didn't tell me that you were evil!"- This and the Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond parallel I feel is going to reveal the new conflict and secret, Lapis and Peridot's true nature of their relationship.
Peridot's reactions to the other fusions: This one's more of a stretch, but when Peridot typically reacts to fusion (all of the fusions that we've seen her with are Amethyst fusions) she looks scared, uncomfortable, almost like she doesn't want her fusion with Lapis to end up looking like that.
Finally, Peridot's reaction to Lapis in Reunited: "Lapis...? You're really here!" Peridot's face almost looked uncomfortable when she said it. Lapis just responds with a smug face and says "Hey..." it almost guarantees that their relationship is going to be 'fixed' eventually by talking to one another.
Common counterarguments:
-Fusing Peridot and Amethyst (Amethyst is a main crystal gem) by the end of the show permentently wouldn't seem like a thing that the Crewniverse would do.
*Considering that there can be twists in the show (like Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond) and episodes can come up out of the blue that aren’t really revelatory to the main plot (like Lars of the Stars), anything can still happen.
-Garnet's future vision and Garnet being "proud" of Peridot would only make a bit of sense with this scenario, due to Garnet telling Peridot how to do fusion.
*Well, maybe Garnet wants to teach Peridot the true beauty of fusion, the way she was taught it the difficult way by learning herself and her experience, and not the way that Homeworld viewed it.
-Peridot and Lapis weren't gems made for fighting, therefore the Homeworld view on fusion wouldn't make sense here.
*Remember that Homeworld still sees cross-fusion gems as 'defective' so even if the gems weren't fighting it's still safe to assume that they would still be against the Lapis and Peridot fusion too (remember that Lapis has a super-strong ability to control water, despite not being a fighter)
-Making Peridot/Lapis break up forever in the show just seems like wasted character development.
*This can still make Peridot (and Steven) develop as characters by realizing that true love doesn't just happen overnight. This will also make Peridot feel a little more comfortable torwards Amethyst and eventually trust Garnet by letting her be Peridot's teacher. And plus, Lapis' and Peridot's relationship could still end up being platonic love, due to Lapis' protective nature of Peridot (protecting her from the Rubies and securing things in the barn) and Peridot making Lapis feel comfortable (like holding Lapis' arm when she sees Amethyst shapeshifting as Jasper).
-Peridot and Garnet seem both out of character for this kind of scenario to work.
* Well we could get some character development with Peridot in later episodes and maybe Garnet just wanted Peridot to make sure if she was ready.
Disclaimer: It still doesn't mean that a Lapis/Peridot fusion and a Lapis/Peridot romantic relationship isn't happening, though. Both Peridot and Lapis try to make each other comfortable in a way and both of them still agree together on doing the Meepmorps together. Also, at the end of the New Crystal Gems, the 'conflict' between the two is solved and the new car wash sign is Turquoise and their fight clears up, so there’s that.
So that’s it. There’s my theory on who Peridot is going to eventually be in a true romantic relationship with. Remember, this is just speculation so some of this may not be completely true.
