Hey y'all! Does anyone know anything about replacing light bulbs on sewing machines? I have a Viking Selectronic 6570 and the light bulb just burned out It was my grandma's machine, and I did not even know it had a light for like a solid year of using it. Then it had to get a fairly major repair, and the shop replaced the light bulb, which was a surprise when I turned on the machine for the first time! That shop is unfortunately on the other side of the country from me, and the light is extremely useful when I'm doing super precise sewing

Isopuppy's got legs for DAYS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just need to get the top carapace on and write up the tutorial, and y'all can make your own Good Dog.
My baby spent most of the morning crawl-chasing me around, desperately pointing at the pupper to be allowed a hug (which she was finally granted just before nap time when I got the back seam closed, and she hugged it So Hard, then gummed those antennae real good). Toddler is demanding he be allowed to sleep with it tonight. So isopups are VERY snugglable, is what I'm saying.

this is my horrible bastard son. his name is Disease because he has all of them and he is the single most badly made wonky ass object alive and my pride of my life. He took me three days to hand sew and now all my limbs, fingers, back, neck and eyes all hurt but idc because he’s my pride and joy.
Baby’s first sewing project and I really should have followed a tutorial but we ball. I forgot to do his face and stuff him with weights BEFORE sewing him together, but at least it resulted in this incredible image:

I had the opportunity to attend rose city comicon this weekend! it was fun!
i got so many compliments on the crochet things I was wearing. I've been considering for a while that I might be able to make money selling crochet things at events like cons and ren faires/fantasy festivals. I'll have to spend a lot of time and money building an inventory and making more of a social media presence for myself and whatever.
but if I do manage to get to that point and I have a booth selling crochet, what items do you all think would be the most popular?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(image description: all the crochet items from the poll, in order. one photo of a dragon scale glove, one photo of a collection of parasols, four photos of different shawls with lacy patterns, two photos of scarves and a photo of a hooded scarf, and two photos of cocoon cardigans, which are very loose square shapes and have short baggy sleeves. end description)
if I have a sense of what people would be more likely to purchase, I can build a more effective inventory. keeping in mind, of course, none of it would be cheap and the parasols would probably be the most expensive thing here. but maybe by next year or the year after that I could have enough inventory to get a booth at some local event and sell some things.
If I figure out the most cost efficient way to make art prints, maybe I can even do some cool fantasy illustrations like a nice print of some speculative evolution or some of the art from my own worldbuilding posts like the centaur deities or something. I'm genuinely kind of excited and motivated now! it's been so hard to figure out how I can earn a living without sacrificing all the time I put into my personal passions, or how to earn money from my passions without sacrificing the joy I get from making things. but maybe I actually can do it, if I just find the right venues.
also if you'd like to help me build my yarn stash so I can craft a large inventory of things to sell, please consider donating to my ko-fi page or paying me for a commission! I am also willing to do crochet commissions, I just don't have a specific info page for it right now.

I have a theory that the only reason Sylus keeps tossing a coin is to keep challenging his relationship with Fate. We all know he’s defied it once already with what little we know about his past with MC as of the last update.
I feel like Sylus subconsciously finds comfort in that fact, especially now that he’s found MC again after searching through deep space. The whole coin schtick might just be him testing fate time and time again with each flip. Usually you assign one side of the coin to let you decide which way to go about in a situation, maybe even just a simple yes or no. It’s a funny little trait humans have to connect with a higher power to let them choose their fate for them.
In Sylus’ case, I feel like he does the exact opposite of what Fate tells him. If the coin lands on tails, signaling that maybe he shouldn’t do a thing, he does the opposite. If the coin lands on heads, telling him to say yes to a deal — he says no.
I really headcannon that Sylus does not care about Fate whatsoever, but a little part of him couldn’t help but test it still until his luck runs out. After all, what else is there to leave up to Fate when he’s already lived long enough to find MC again. Despite all odds, and despite what Fate told him.

my friend's two-year-old son cannot manage my name, and calls me Ken instead
(not sure where he got this- he calls at least one Julia "Drac," so it's not necessarily related to the person's actual name)
She's Just Ken I guess

ISAT plush idea.. Loop plush gave me ideas so I was like. Why not make one of my top favorite character in the game.
(Possible ISAT spoilers for the Then who was phone achievement/event)
Actually quite proud of how it turned out
Based it off Mirabelles statue and Makeship plushies because that felt easy

The messenger bag I made in 2019 finally started to wear to pieces after four years of faithful service. Time for a new one!
I made the original bag without a pattern, but this time I had something to work with. I took the old bag apart and made a pattern from the pieces.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It took me a while to find the right material. I wasn’t sure what it would look like, I just knew I’d know it when I saw it. I finally found this double-sided Japanese cloth in a shop in Portland.
Once I had the right cloth for the exterior, I found a fun pattern for the interior bag in a local shop. (I always use a lighter material for the interior so it's easier to find things).
Tumblr media
The first bag was a struggle—I had no idea what I was doing! I expected the second bag to be difficult as well, but the process went surprisingly smoothly. I got stuck a few times and had to take a day or two to figure out a solution, but the solutions always worked better than I expected!
For instance—in spite of carefully measuring each piece, the outer flap ended up being too small. I ended up constructing a border to extend the edges.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With heavy interfacing and waterproof lining, the walls were very thick and tricky to work with. Having a better sewing machine than last time helped!
Tumblr media
Lots of pockets and hooks on the inside—essential.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I found a leather camera strap I haven't used since college and added a couple of decorative wooden buttons a friend gave me and I'd been saving for the right moment. The blue webbing along the sides that support the leather strap are repurposed from the original bag. I like that a little bit of the old bag is worked into the new.
The whole process took... weeks—but I’m so happy with how it all came together!
