He knew you shouldn't be here - that this was wrong. 

He was your fathers best friend. But when he met you at your graduation party two years ago, he was enamored. You'd just finished your degree, getting ready to specialize at another university and after some conversation, he learned it would be the one in his city. 

He'd helped you move, helped you get settled in your apartment - which was only a ten minute drive from his house. He told you that if you ever needed anything, that he'd be there for you. 

He didn't necessarily mean it like this, but he'd gladly spend the rest of his days between your legs if it meant he didn't have to see you cry anymore. 

Sure, you muttered about how you two shouldn’t be doing this, asking what you were going to do if your father found out. Bucky assured you he wouldn't, what he was doing to you - ruining you - would be your little secret, and you let him keep going. 

You didn't pull away, you didn't tell him to stop or to leave. If the words were to leave your lips, he'd be heart broken, but he'd go. 

If you told him to, he’d walk to the ends of the earth. He’d find the edge and jump, if you so asked. 

But you didn’t. 

You let him take you out when he ran into you at the mall, you were clearly upset about something and he wanted to make you feel better. He told you to dress up and you put on the sexiest dress you had, the one that left nothing to the imagination, and let him pick you up to take you to the nicest restaurant he could find. 

Bucky listened to how you'd been sort of dating a guy from one of your classes, but turns out he was just another asshole who stood you up and cheated on you. He'd wiped your tears with his thumbs, his hands cupping your cheeks as gently as he could. 

He gave you so much time to pull away, to stop him. 

But when he leaned in, pressing his lips to yours as gently as he could, you kissed him back. 

Now, here you two were, in the back of his car, your back pressed up against the door with his head between your legs, his tongue in your core. Your hands tugged on his hair and your eyes were shut as you moaned. 

He pulled his tongue from your folds to hover just over your cunt. Reaching up, he gripped your chin and squeezed your jaw, getting you to open your eyes. 

"Keep your eyes on me," he ordered, waiting for a nod to tell him you heard him before he latched on to your clit, drawing quick tight circles over it while slipping two fingers into your warmth and curling them. 

He never let go of your jaw and you followed his order, never once taking your eyes off his - except when he brought you over the edge. Your head flew back, hitting the window as your eyes shut and you screamed.

*** JUNE 17TH, 2018 ***

“i bet, at this time in a few years, we’ll be painting the walls of our shared apartment.” my boyfriend’s whisper rings through my ears as i turn my head to look at him.

heat rises to my cheeks, Jack’s blue eyes gazing into mine.

“yeah?” i laugh, running a hand through his hair, still damp from the shower he took before coming over.

“mhm.” he hums in confirmation, his hand snaking up under the stolen shirt that adorns my body, gripping my waist and pulling me closer. “i’ll be playing hockey, and you’ll be a big pop star, my little songbird.”

i bury my face into his neck in attempt to hide the redness on the apples of my cheeks from the nickname.

“you gonna write songs about me?” he whispers, pressing a kiss against the side of my head.

“i already do.” i murmur, my lips brushing against his collarbone, causing him to shiver.

*** JULY 30TH, 2019 ***

“i don’t think i understand.” it feels like my head is underwater, my lungs burning for oxygen, but unable to receive it.

“we can still be friends, y/n. you can call me whenever.” Jack sits on my bed, gripping my hands in his hold. “the future is just, so far away and we don’t know what’ll happen.

“i don’t want my dreams to hold you back from achieving yours, y/n. you may not see it right now, but this just seems like the best option for now. and maybe, down the line, once we’re both at a stable place in our careers, if we’re both single, we can revisit us.”

my head is bobbing ‘yes’ but my heart is screaming ‘no!’

it’s like my brain understands where he’s coming from, that he’s being logical and that he’s doing this for the greater good of both of us; no matter what we’ve always thought, we’re still just kids, we were dreaming. but my heart isn’t getting that message. all my heart knows is that it’s being crushed into a thousand pieces and it feels pretty unsalvageable right now.

“are you okay?”

it’s my instinct to tell him ‘yes’. my instinct to not let him know how much he’s really hurting me. how much i want to scream that we’ll be fine. that i would give up my dream to be by his side while he accomplishes his. but i know that would just hurt him; because that isn’t what he wants.

he may be hurting me, but he’s doing it for all the right reasons. he doesn’t want me to push my dreams aside for his, because he wants to see me living them. he wants the best for me.

“yeah, i’m okay. i understand.”

*** PRESENT: REAL LIFE ***

my heart races as the notification comes through.

i wasn’t sure if he listened to my music, or if the song would get back to him. i just needed to get my feelings down on paper, and then it turned into a song, and then i liked it too much to not release it.

the night i wrote it, i had played a small show in New York, and i could’ve sworn i saw him in the back of the venue. of course, i knew it wasn’t, but it had rattled me; bringing all my feelings for him back to the forefront of my brain.

“call him.” my head snaps up to face my best friend, her eyes soft as she looks at me from the doorway.

“i-” Tate cuts me off with a shake of her head.

“don’t make excuses, y/n. call him.” she repeats, “you deserve to be happy, and from what you’ve told me, he makes you happy.”

she doesn’t stick around; instead bidding me goodbye and heading back to my guest room to give me some privacy.

i pace my bedroom, iphone clutched in my hand. his contact is pulled up, but i can’t seem to build up the nerve to call him. though, it seems i don’t have to, because my phone begins to ring instead, Jack’s photo displaying on the screen.

“hi.” i breathe out, pressing the phone to my ear.

“hi.” he repeats. “i heard your new song. i’m so proud of you, my little songbird.”

my face heats up, blood rushing to my cheeks. i haven’t heard that nickname in almost four years.

“thank you.” my words come out a whisper, still in disbelief that i’m talking to him again.

“did you mean it?” the question causes a panic to erupt in me, swarms of butterflies erupting in my nervous system.

“did i mean what, Jacky?” i need him to say it.

“what you wrote,” he clears his throat, “in the song. did you mean it all? do you still think of me? do you really wanna try again?”

laying sprawled out on my bed, i stare up at the ceiling as i speak.

“i wouldn’t have written it if it wasn’t true.”

“oh- okay. so, uh,” he stutters, but i can hear the smile on his lips, causing the same reaction upon my own face, “where are you right now?”

“um, my apartment?” my brows thread together in confusion, but he just chuckles.

“i mean like, are you living in LA? are you home in Michigan? what state?”

“oh.” i bite my lip, squeezing my eyes shut in embarrassment. “i live in New York, Jack.”

“really?” his voice is emotionally distant and seemingly hurt. “so close?”

“yeah.” i nod, although he can’t see me. “i’ve gone to a few of your games.”

“you did?”

“mhm.” i hum in confirmation. “i just- i didn’t wanna be the one to reach out and then have you think oddly of me or have you already be in a relationship or something. i’m sorry i didn’t tell you, i just didn’t wanna be seen as that clingy ex-girlfriend or anything.”

“that’s not what you are, y/n.” he sighs, “would you wanna meet up soon? catch up? i’d love to hear about your glamorous new pop star life.”

“i’d love to. although, i wouldn’t call myself a pop star, Jacky.”

“you are to me.” i blush at his words, glad he can’t see how much of a mess i am at the moment. “are you free on saturday? i have practice in the morning, but after that, maybe we could go to lunch?”

“yeah, i can do that.” i confirm.

“okay great, i’ll text you on friday to hash out details?”

“sounds great!” my cool hand rises to press against my heated face in attempt to cool myself down.

“great. i gotta go, Luke and i are going out with the guys. i’ll talk to you soon, yeah?”

“yeah. bye, Jack.” i wait for him to repeat a goodbye before hanging up, burying face in my pillow and letting out a muffled scream.

my knee bounces underneath the table of the New York City diner, my hands clasped together on the table.

Jack should be here any minute, and saying i’m nervous would be an understatement. my palms are clammy, my legs won’t stop shaking, and i’m eighty percent sure that i have no skin left on my bottom lip because i’ve chewed it all off.

the little bell above the door rings and my head snaps up to look, but it’s just a young couple with their toddler. i send a friendly smile to the tired looking mother before looking back down at my hands that won’t stop fidgeting.

i zone out, retreating back into my head and all the thoughts that have been plaguing me since we planned this meeting.

what if he doesn’t like me anymore?

what if he has a girlfriend and he’s just trying to be nice?

or worse, what if he’s just asked me here so he could tell me to leave him alone? to stop writing songs about him.

“hi.” i’m pulled out of my thoughts by Jack sliding into the booth across from me, a gentle smile on his face.

his hand snakes across the table to hold mine, and i can’t help but feel like a teenager again, back when we used to have dates like this all the time; where he would hold my hand over the table and we would laugh and joke around for hours.

“hey.” i smile back, giving his hand a small squeeze in return.

“how are you?” he questions. he brings his hand back in order to hold his menu, but his focus remains on me, not even glancing down at the menu yet.

“i’m good!” i nod. “how are you?”

“good, i’m glad. i’m good too.”

we’re interrupted by a waitress, taking a second to look over our menu’s before giving her our orders.

once she retreats, i squirm from the small talk, never having been any good at it. which Jack seems to remember.

“so, how’s the pop star life?” he smirks teasingly, and i giggle.

“not a pop star.” i remind him, shaking my head. “but it’s good. i like where i’m at right now in my career. i like having a strong fanbase but still being unknown enough that i’m not being hounded on or followed like, say, Taylor Swift.

“i’m able to just write my music and put it out, go on small tours, interact with my fans on a more personal level; it’s really nice. i don’t know if i would want it to be more than that.”

he nods in understanding, a wide grin on his face as he listens.

“i get it. and i’m really glad you’ve achieved what you wanted. i’ve always rooted for you.”

“what about you? mr. ninety-nine point season!” he blushes at my words, shaking his head and looking down at his hands, which rest on the tabletop. “how’s that?”

“it’s good! really good.” he looks back up at me, and i have to fight myself from getting lost in his eyes like i would when we were seventeen. “i love it. it’s hard, it’s a lot of work, but it’s amazing. and honestly, i’m pretty glad i’m not on a canadian team. i like that i can go out and still have a pretty normal life outside of hockey, ya know? not be stopped on the street a bunch.”

“yeah, i get it.” i tell him. “i’m so glad you’re happy though. you play great, as you always have.”

he releases a ‘thanks’ before a silence settles over us, neither of us sure what exactly to say next.

i begin to play with the paper wrapper from my straw, winding it around my finger before sliding it off and gently pulling it straight again.

“so, Cole sends me your songs.”

snap! the paper wrapper breaks in two as i look up at him.

“he does?”

“yeah. you know i don’t get on social media too much, so i don’t always know right away when you put one out, but Cole sends me all of them. just in case i miss one.” he explains.

my head bobs up and down as i try to display a level of cool, “oh.”

“that doesn’t bother you, does it?” he asks. “that i don’t always listen to them right away?”

“not at all! i didn’t really think you listened to them at all.” i confess, sinking lower into the booth. “not really your genre.”

he smiles gently, reaching forward to hold my hand tightly in his.

“y/n, you could write a children’s nursery rhyme, and i would still listen to it.”

my head tips back against the booth, joyous laughter spilling from my lips. my nose scrunches, resulting in a small snort, which cause him to laugh as well.

“you’re just saying that.” i choke out, and he shakes his head.

“no! i’m serious! i would!” Jack insists, right as the waitress arrives with our food. she sets our food in front of us, making sure we’re all set before she retreats.

a comfortable small talk takes over as we eat; discussing our friends and their accomplishments since graduation.

“you remember that time,” Jack starts through broken laughter, “that you hit Cole with your car because he said he didn’t think it would hurt?”

“yes! and i barely even tapped him, but the big baby whined that it hurt so bad, i may have crushed his NHL dreams!” my face hurts from smiling so big, but i can no longer fight it.

“and then he was fine and back to practice that afternoon! not even a bruise left on him!” he retorts.

“ever the dramatic, Cole is.” i sigh, sitting back in my seat from position slouched over the table.

“since we’re walking down memory lane, do you remember how i said that maybe down the line, we could revisit us?”

i’m sobered up now, my smile gone as i eye him. he’s playing with his bracelets, a sign of nerves from him, and i just now realize that he’s still wearing the string friendship bracelet i gave him at eighteen; just before his draft.

i swallow the lump that built in throat, nodding, “yeah.”

“you think maybe now would be a good time to do that?” he asks. “start slow; go on dates again, maybe you could come over sometime for movie night with Luke and i, come to a few more of my games, where i actually know you’re there this time. and then see where that could take us?”

butterflies swarm my stomach, my heart beating rapidly in my chest, and my teeth sink into my lower lip, biting back a smile.

“i’d love that, Jack.”

This will be a key month for you. Perhaps initially you won't feel much is going on externally but your internal world creates a majority of your external world and you'll be realizing that. So once you completely grasp this concept you'll also start feeling more in control of your life without having to actively do something to go your way which includes anything apart from self discipline and inspired action. I.e you don't have to force anything to go your way, it will ultimately drain you.

You'll be establishing stronger boundaries and learning to control your anger, resentment and unhealthy impulses.

There's a theme of karmic justice as well.

Opting for peace of your mind rather than reacting.

You can look forward to establishing something for yourself whether it be a routine or a business. You will also have more confidence in your abilities instead of letting imposter syndrome take over.

The mindset or whatever it is that you set foundation for this month will eventually lead to your long term goals or set the course of events for the months to come.

Learn to trust your intuition / hunches / gut instincts / higher self / guides a little more instead of going for escapist tendencies.

Use your mind to your advantage without letting other people in on it, by that I mean genuinely make moves in silence because your future self is rooting for you.

I see you breaking away from certain traditions or mindsets that have kept you in a bubble for so long that you don't feel as happy anymore.

Likely you'll receive a lot of signs or symbolisms in your dreams or in the form of auditory messages (songs, frequencies, a friend saying something to you, you hearing something out of the blue or the voice inside your head guiding you.)

You'll get a chance to revisit something you had abandoned out of fear of not being good enough or from the fear of failure or being judged in the past.

You'll be suddenly called to do something or have an opportunity drop for you out of sheer curiosity or simple because you catered to your inner child more instead of constantly judging yourself for not having structure or routine.

You'll realize the more fun you have the easier you manifest especially when it comes to money.

I also see quick movement, communication and traveling.

Something left a deep wound in you for so long but this month you will finally heal from it. I see that you've grown extremely protective of your heart and yourself, almost like you'd rather have people go through an entire obstacle course in order to break down your walls.

I do see you healing from trauma and pain.

Your soul is preparing itself to seek what it always wanted and although you're conflicted, you know this is the way.

Your unsteady foundations will be breaking down and things will almost abruptly clear out for you. Manifestions will be instant, words will be spells.

This month is intensely transformative but instead of telling you "oh it's so heavy" etc I want to tell you to look forward to it and have fun.

Connect with your emotions a lot more, express them, do what makes you smile, nurture yourself and those you care for. Allow yourself to bloom and yet be a mystery and muse to others.

You have one foot in this reality and other in several other realities, perhaps dreams will feel extremely vivid and you may feel drained. Some of you could be readers or healers too, please look after yourself and rest.

I see a secret admirer or perhaps more than one wanting to be near you. I just see you being admired in general as you continue to heal and do your own little things honestly.

I also see you more fixated towards your goals. Remember you don't have to hold on too tightly to anything (esp materialistic things) when you know they'll already come to you with ease eitherway.

I have this problem that finally showed up after many years, I'm a few chapters away from completing my book. After almost 5 years writing this through happy times and sad times, I'm finally done! Yet, I can't move on. Instead of being happy to finally complete my passion project, I feel myself grieving the eventuality. I spent years building my world, story, characters etc... and now I don't want it to end, I don't want to complete it. Suffering from success if you will.

Do you have any tips on this fear of completion? My book is set up as a stand-alone, so making a sequel wouldn't work.

Have you ever had this "completion grief" and if so, how did you move on from it?

Dealing with Creative Grief When Story is Done

It's normal to feel grief upon completion of a story, especially one that you've been working on a long time and/or has been emotionally demanding. Here are some things you can do to help work through this feeling:

1 - Be Proud of Your "Baby Bird" - Your baby bird has flown your now empty nest, but take a moment to recognize the beauty of this moment... this project you've worked so hard on is now complete and ready to fly away. You've done everything you can for it, so now it's time to let it spread its wings and live a life of its own. As much as it's sad, it's exciting, too. And it's a huge accomplishment!

2 - Find Closure with Celebration - Many creatives find celebration a helpful way to find closure when a project is finished. This can be something small, like ordering pizza or enjoying a glass of champagne, or it could be something bigger, like having a nice dinner out with friends, or even throwing a little party. Having any sort of event to mark the occasion can help it to feel more final, but in a way that is happy and comforting.

3 - Start a New Project - With one project finished and out in the world, you may find it helpful to start planning a new project, or at least start thinking about one. Throwing that leftover creative energy into something new helps with that sense of emptiness, distracts you from creative grief due to the finished project, and heals your heart with enthusiasm for a new world, new characters, and new plot.

4 - Schedule a Future Visit - Sometimes it helps to plan to revisit the completed project in some way at a future date. That could be reading it at some point, if you're able to read through finished projects and enjoy them. It could be creating a collection of mood boards for the story and characters and sharing them with your readers. It might be doing a reading of the first chapter on an Instagram live, or--hear me out on this--writing a companion story. Now, I don't mean writing a sequel or even a story that you'd share necessarily, but more something for yourself, kind of like fan-fiction of your own work, just as a way to get into your story and revisit the characters and world. And truth be told, if you plan to do this--say on the six-month anniversary of when your story was finished--it will give you a sense of the story living on that will help you get through your grief now, but by the time you get to that point, you probably won't need to do it anymore.

5 - Wait for It To Pass - Of course the hard thing about any kind of grief is there's not a whole lot you can do to make it go away. For the most part, you just have to acknowledge that it's there and give yourself the grace needed to get through it. Most of the time, it passes more quickly than you might expect, and you'll be onto something new in now time.

🇺🇲: I tried to redraw that classic Maribug pose (but with a bit of distance between both to show the design haha) with my LB design and a "preview" of my Marinette and Tikki design (I'll definitely change them in the future though). I was trying to go for a way simpler style than that but ended up failing lol- I'll try again in the future

I know I take WAY TOO LONG to post but (I'm lazy and) I've been kinda busy- but I'll try to post my Hawk moth redesign probably before the year ends lol

After I do the 3 main ones, I'm not sure if I should do their civilian designs first or do the other heroes- but I'm also not really sure if I'll do ALL the heroes (at least right now) since, if I ever do the AU I plan to, I don't know if I'll give all the characters a miraculous (and if I do, I also don't know if I'll keep them with their original ones since I'm changing the power system). So, if I don't do the civilians first, I'll probably do only the secondary holders (QB, Rena, Carapace, Mayura and Argos) because I'm sure I'll keep those

But I assure you I'll definitely not give up on my "redesign series" :D (even if I take IDK, one year to post the next one haha)

Although the boat saving our lives from being snuffed out by the apocalypse was a luxury that it seemed no one else could afford, it had its downsides…such as the constant close quarters with everyone on board, as well as the boredom. It feels like such a selfish thing to admit whilst knowing about the fates of those we knew and loved that we couldn’t save, but at the same time I didn’t ask to be thrown into this hellscape, surely I should be allowed a pass on my lack of gratitude.

One of those who were not able to survive long enough to see life on the boat was Liza, Chris’s mother- the boy would not let us forget his grief and her loss, with it being written across his face as if it was stuck in a permanent frown. Most of us if not everyone aboard tried to avoid him and his snaps and cold tone, however as one of the only other teenagers on the sea with him I felt it was my duty to at least try to connect with him, especially after he had saved my life during the city riots at the start after I had lost my own parents in the chaos and the dead.

Chris was sat looking up at the stars on the outer deck of the boat alone. The day had been a rough one, with Liza’s sea burial not going so smoothly, tensions were high between him and his father Travis.

“Hey stranger” I said warmly as I emerged from the inner boat wrapped in a blanket, making my way over to the troubled boy.

“Hey..” He replied solemnly glancing over to me, his eyes following me until I was sat cross legged next to him. I held a spare small blanket out to the boy who declined the gesture by pushing it gently back towards me. Rolling my eyes playfully, I sat up on my knees and wrapped it around his shoulders, making him blush and stiffen for a moment, only to relax once I had sat back down again. The silence between us was deafeningly awkward.

“Soo.. Whatcha doing out here?”

“The stars are so peaceful tonight..” He quietly replied as he gazed up into the moonlit sky.

“Yeah, that’s one good thing about life nowadays.. you can see all of the stars you wouldn’t be able to with all the big city lights back at home.” I smiled gently at him and he glanced down at me before going back to star gazing. He was in deep thought and holding back tears as he kept his head held high trying to stop them from spilling out, eventually failing as I watched one stray tear roll down his cheek.

“Chris, we don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to, but I am here for you and can be a shoulder to cry on if you need it…I really care about you…” After a few moments he lowered his head to look at me and his eyes were bloodshot and glossy. He stared into my eyes as if searching for something lost, and eventually raised the corners of his mouth into a weak smile to tell me,

“Thank you.”

After a few moments of silence and us smiling at each other he looks to the side out to the water, “I feel like… no one understands what I feel here… my dad doesn’t care that she is gone, he didn’t care about her he’s too busy with his new family… you are the only person that I think cared that she died.”

We sat in silence for a while, thinking about what he had said, before Chris broke it again.

“Sorry…That was pretty heavy…”

I let out a soft chuckle and reassured him, “Hey, I can handle anything you know… I’m superwoman but for like…listening to people I care about” attempting to lighten the mood a bit and nudging him on the shoulder, which seemed to work as I caught him smiling to himself and playfully nudging me back.

“Yeah yeah don’t get cocky…” He smirks at me and I mock offence, dramatically putting a hand on my chest and joking back to him, “Me? Cocky? I could never- How dare you even THINK that…” I giggled watching him roll his eyes at my dramatic outburst.

“You are so immature,” he starts, “Sometimes I wonder why we are friends…” He stares at me for a moment as if he were analysing my every movement, before his eyes land on the blanket wrapped around me like a burrito and he decides to quickly snatch it from me, laughing and saying “Maybe it’s because you’re so generous for giving me your blanket”

“HEY!!” I shout as I sit in shock for a split second before lunging at him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders in an attempt to get the blanket back around myself. We are both wriggling around at this point trying to reclaim the blanket, as we forgot that the couch had a limited space, so when he eventually tried to get me off of him we both rolled down the steel drop from the couch to the deck, landing with a thud onto my back and physically wincing at the sudden pains shooting through my back. I was more shocked however to feel Chris landing on top of me, and when I opened my eyes he was there leaning over me, his hands either side of my head. We both just stare into each other’s eyes for a few seconds too long, getting lost in his dark coffee coloured eyes; this then led to me scanning his face and admiring his undeniably handsome features and plump lips that he had begun to nibble into nervously. Feeling the blood start to rush to my face I decided to break the silence.

“Okay okay I didn’t realise that it was that serious to you…keep the blanket Manawa!” I giggled and poked his sides to shock him, which worked and his cheeks began to flush. He picked me up and I gasped, grasping onto his shirt incase he dropped me, but instead he put me onto the couch and sat next to me, opening up the blanket inviting me to sit wrapped up with him, which I accepted and crawled into his side, getting comfortable next to him as he settled the blanket over us both.

We sat awkwardly close to each other in silence for a few minutes, neither one of us wanting to scare the other away, but then Chris grabbed my hand underneath the blanket and without looking at me he said, “Thank you, Y/N… I needed this distraction from..everything…” he glances over at me “…you mean a lot to me…even if we have only just met, I feel like I have known you a lifetime, but it’s only been a month.”

I smile warmly at his words and glance at him before engulfing him into a tight hug, which he takes a few seconds to return.

“Chris, you mean a lot to me too. I would risk anything and everything for you, you are all I have left…” I feel the tears start to well up as i pull out of the hug and look him in the eyes, “…so you better not do anything stupid” I laugh and wipe my tears off of my face. He sits with an arm over my shoulders and laughs quietly about what I said.

“Maybe you aren’t ALWAYS immature and crazy… At least you aren’t boring.”

Next steps for the AU:

-I have a couple of analysis-type posts to make. I love talking about this fic lol so I have a lot to say still. Included in this will be a review of art symbolism, setting as a character, and some selected real-life cases and research I ran across. I may also talk a little about fire symbolism as well as my fun fire-related words I purposefully scattered around (if you noticed me describe feelings as a spark a lot, it was on purpose lol.) I also may talk about a couple things that didn't end up happening, or did happen but almost didn't.

-This weekend I am going to revisit the fic chapters 8-12 to see if I can add more art to them. I had initially wanted more art pieces throughout the fic but the art would sometimes delay finished chapters for weeks (i have to both draw and color it traditionally, photograph it in good light, and then digitally edit it) so I started worrying less about it. If I do I will post those pieces and retroactively add them in the chapter.

-Speaking of retroactive edits, some earlier chapters of the story on AO3 have some issues with em dashes appearing smaller than they should be. This is corrected in my original document but I never got around to correcting the published chapters (i am always mildly worried the formatting will break lol.) When I do this I will also add cocoabats' cover into the first chapter. I also plan to retroactively edit some of my Fire Finder Math in chapter 3 because I think I made Grian's tower taller than it needs to be/at the wrong elevation. This won't affect the chapter outcome at all I just Need that to be accurate for myself

-I have a great many web weaving materials that I have slowly collected over the months that I would like to mess with again. I have been saving them in a #f tag on my main blog, but I didn't make any except for one because I wanted the full context of the story to be published.

-Going to upload the Letters from the Lookout drabbles into the AO3 series. Hopefully in the future I may add more. Or, I may not. We'll see. I also have a Scar-centric story called "Alpenglow" in my outline. based on its structure it may have multiple chapters, but it will not have any sort of through-line plot. It's selected scenes from his 8 years career as a lookout. I want to write this, but I don't know if it will be or not. With the main fic done I will be releasing my brain to work on other projects/ideas that I didn't want to get distracted by earlier. That doesn't mean it won't happen, it just means that it may not happen on a fast timeline.

1. How are Kai and Lia related to each other?

Answer: Spoiler: You will get the answer in the next update, but I appreciate the theories you're building :)

2. Which is your favorite?

Answer: Let's do it this way: if we start with who is easier for me to write, then Dean and Cas - it's always easy for me to write them. When I take on scenes with them, I don’t even think about what will happen there - I know in advance what I need to talk about them and what I need to describe. I sometimes feel stupor in situations with Lia and Tuyong, but when I start writing scenes with them, this “stupor” instantly disappears. I have questions about Seonghwa. Sometimes it’s hard for me to write scenes with him, because he’s a very good character, he has his downsides and shortcomings, but despite this, I personally find it hard to write good characters.

3. Who would you date in real life?

Answer: Something between Brandon and Dean, but I won’t say what exactly they are, but if you make a mixture of these two, then I think it will be ideal.

4. In the update with Leah we see the line “My family won’t understand”, are Leah’s family members homophobic?

The relationship between Luna and Lia may face challenges and be difficult to understand for society, families, audiences, and agencies. This situation is even more delicate than with other idols. The most stable relationship is with Doo-yeong, and with others, the situation becomes increasingly complex.

5. Will there be an affair with Donghyun? And the ending with him on the path of a loner?

Statement: I mentioned earlier that there won't be any new romantic relationships. A possible affair could happen. There will definitely be romantic scenes, most likely between Donghyun and Ms. Park. I can't guarantee it, but I will make an effort. I can sense the chemistry between these couples. It's not possible with Aria because I can only imagine her with Woojin, please don't blame me :)

6. When will we know the whole truth about Miyeon and Seoyoon?

This is the starting point of the whole plot, indicating that we will likely uncover the truth by the end of the story. All the details will be gradually revealed.

7. "Will there be an opportunity in the future to bring someone together in GOE?"

Answer: I considered this question to bring two characters together, but it depends on which couple you would like to see. If you are referring to Ms. Park and Doo-yeong's manager, then no, I wouldn't. I acknowledge that there is some chemistry between them, but I wouldn't pair them up. There are specific reasons for this, which we will learn about later :)

8. Is it possible to learn more about Minhyuk?

Answer: We will gradually learn more about him as the story progresses. In the game "On Thin Ice," players remember how Leon revealed himself. At first, they thought he was an antagonist, but he turned out to be a hero. It seems like Minhyuk can play both the role of an antagonist and a savior or even both at the same time.

9. "Which story is most dear to you?"

Answer: I really love everything, honestly. When I come across creativity inspired by the story "Seduced by the Rhythm", it brings back a sense of nostalgia. I look at your art and wonder how I would write that novel now. There are moments that I want to revisit and present in a slightly different way, perhaps with the same elements. However, I still believe that "SBR" is the dearest to me, as it was my first story. Some people think that the story had less drama, but in reality, it was more upbeat and positive.

10. Will there be a good ending with Lia?

Answer: There will be both good and bad endings with love lines.

11. "Is the Garden of Eden based on the story 'The Burning Sun'?"

Answer: Some of it was taken from there, but only a small part.

12. "Will we see the parents of the love interest or not?"

Answer: In the story, we will meet someone's parents. I want to explore the theme of family more, but I feel limited by the number of lines I have. I had planned to delve deeper into the families of Seong-hwa, Cas, and Lia in season 2, but we will have to wait and see how it unfolds.

13."How dangerous and glassy is the Minhyuk branch?"

Answer: "This question contains a spoiler. This character will be ambiguous, with both positive and negative traits. Some people may not like it, some may be afraid of it, some will understand that it's better not to trust it, and some will do the opposite."

14. Which of the three female branches was easiest for you personally - Claire, Lia, or Liz?

Answer: It seems to me that Liz is involved, but here it is increasing. Claire's first experience in same-sex relationships. Then Joseph and Christian, then Liz and Lia.

"Lia appears to be more developed to me than past love interests. I'm putting in a lot of effort. There were some issues with LI's in RBS, which I later fixed in OTI. However, I received feedback from players that the storyline with Liz loses momentum a bit in seasons 2 and 3, and I'm trying to avoid that with Lia."

"15. Are you asking if there will be an affair with Yeon-ah?"

Regarding the main character, there are purely friendly relations. However, if you are considering Yeon-ah's interactions with other characters such as Lin, Dean, Cas, and Seong-hwa (if you don't have threads with them), this is something to consider.

16. "Is there chemistry between MC and Kai?"

I read your comments, but I don't see any romantic chemistry between them. It's just a friendly vibe, so unfortunately, it won’t develop into anything more.

17. Can we bring Kai and Yeon-ah together?

"It's clear to me that they would make an excellent tandem."

18. How many K-pop groups do you listen to, and do you have any favorites? Also, how did you come up with the idea of creating the story "Garden of Eden"?

I want to share that Aleksandra is my lead screenwriter. We discussed potential plot ideas, and she suggested K-pop as a theme. I was initially hesitant, but Aleksandra provided a detailed design document explaining the nuances of the genre. I decided to give it a try and started studying K-pop. As a result, I became a fan and started listening to Blackpink, Stray Kids, and Ateez. I'm currently obsessed with the song "Déja Vu," and we decided to feature this track in an official community post with Castiel.

19. "Could you provide more information about Aleksandra Remy's involvement with GOE?"

There's a detailed post on my channel where I discussed this. She provides feedback on the chapter, suggesting what can be added, corrected, and enhanced in interactions with favorite characters, what should be omitted, and where there's room for improvement.

20. Can any other idols or characters die?"

This question contains spoilers, but logically, two deaths from one agency is a clear warning. We need to consider the possibility of a recurrence.

21. "Tell me how you handle a creative crisis when you experience one."

"The challenge with creative crises is that they can strike unexpectedly. You may have just submitted a chapter and be ready to start the next one when you suddenly realize that you're unable to proceed. You might take a day or two off, but with deadlines approaching and readers expecting more, you have no choice but to push through and write. During these moments, I find inspiration from music, movies, or reading. Sometimes, drawing also helps alleviate some of the pressure."

22. "Are you the one who creates story achievements?"

"Yes, we create the story achievements ourselves."

23. Will there be more songs in the GOE?

"Yes, there will definitely be songs for GOE."

24. Which characters will have scenes in the next update?

25. Which heroine is closer to you?

To be honest, currently, I feel closest to Luna, with Michelle in second place.

26. After Eden, do you want to write a new story?

Answer: I want and hope that I will.

27. How can you complete an achievement if you have to lead a double branch that closes immediately?

You can unlock the achievement by choosing to improve with Lia, Seong-Hwa, and Castiel. If you're not interested in Lia but only in Castiel and Seonghwa, you'll need to get at least 8 improvements for each of them to unlock the achievement. It's easier to unlock the achievement with Lia, as it only requires 3 improvements.

28. "Will there be difficult moments with Luna's parents?"

I believe creating a comfortable atmosphere would be more appropriate. While they will remember Seoyoon and never forget her, constant reminders of Seoyoon might hinder MC's path to reconciliation.

29. Is it possible to hear a song with male vocals?

Answer: A controversial question, I can’t say for sure yet.

32. Why is Aria so rude to MC?

Aria is a straightforward person who speaks before she thinks. She needs to express her opinions and defend her position, even if her words might offend someone. Afterward, she reflects on her words and decides whether to apologize or not.

33. How would you describe Cas?

I always create characters that are a mixture of different traits. In my stories, I think it's important to have a good character, and a bad character, as well as someone who is cheerful and humorous like Dean, and an ambiguous character like Minhyuk. I follow this pattern in both OTI and GOE.

34. Share with us your growth, experience, and emotions from SBR to GOE.

Regarding the different story paths, I feel that I've expanded upon them. If you compare the story paths in SBR, OTI, and GOE, you'll notice that I strive to write them in a way that caters to everyone's preferences. The only issue is that not everyone gets enough of their favorite elements in the updates, but I'm doing my best to compensate for that. I'm interested in exploring something new in the storyline, possibly within the mystical or near-mystical genre.

35. Do you watch bloggers’ streams based on your story?

Answer: Yes, I am.

36. I would like to see a story from you in the zombie apocalypse genre.

Answer: I think this is not my genre.

37. When will there be intimate scenes?

I will not disclose the timing, but it will happen.

38."Do you have any ideas for a future story?"

"Yes, there is, but I don’t want to hint at it just yet."

39. Is it easy for you to write Doo-yeong?

"It's challenging, but when I focus and tune out distractions, scenes with him flow smoothly. This may be because he doesn't frequently appear in the plot since he's an actor involved in a slightly different activity. As a result, scenes with him are always special in terms of both romance and friendship."

40. "How did you decide on the names for the characters in GOE?"

Answer: The name Castiel wandered from one story to another. I understand that it is not very suitable for the K-pop setting, but still. Seonghwa was suggested by Aleksandra, I liked it, even though his name was originally different. But usually, I use Google and look up the meaning of the name and see who it's best suited for. I have more of a problem with surnames because in South Korea they are very repetitive, I want more variety in the story so that the players don’t get confused and think that someone is someone else’s relative, etc.

41. Which love interest do you think is most suitable for MC in GOE?

The most canonical choice is Minhyuk, specifically speaking about canon. However, I believe that any favorite would suit her absolutely well.

42. How tall is MC?

Answer: Approximately 170 cm

43. Did you plan to appoint Aria as the leader of the group if she couldn't handle it?

Aria is very impulsive, and Yeon-ah is very soft. The main character is not impulsive, although she can be at times, but she can control herself and knows how to defend her position and be more restrained. It also depends on whether you are improving your relationship with the group. If your relationship with the group is not strong, then you will doubt whether you are worthy of being a leader. Based on these thoughts, Jiyoon will mentally belittle herself and think that she is an unworthy leader and that she is not up to the task. By doing this, she will embarrass her group, which is why the girls will also begin to think that she is unworthy of being a leader and, without realizing it, will begin to belittle her with their attitude.

If your connection with the group is strong, Luna will do her best to handle the situation.

44. Is it important to develop relationships with a group?

In season 2, decisions will start to depend on the quality of the relationship. In the next update, you will be able to see how the storylines diverge and decide for yourself whether it's worth it or not. :)

45. Do you have any favorite scenes in GOE?

I know that I will have a new favorite scene, not in the June update, but in the next one. I'll share more when it comes out.

46. ​​Will there be a post about character prototypes?

I am contemplating whether or not to proceed because I have numerous prototypes, and there is no such thing as having only one prototype.

47. "Do we recognize the surnames of MC and her favorites?"

We already know the surname, and we will most likely find out the favorites, if not in the story, then I will publish a post later.

"From hatred to love."

49. "Will we get to see the heroes' childhood?"

Answer: I want to explore the characters' backstories, including what they experienced before they became trainees, their life experiences, and their motivations for entering the K-pop industry.

50. "How do you feel about criticism and what conclusions do you draw from it?"

Answer: I handle constructive criticism calmly as long as it doesn't cross boundaries. There is a clear distinction between criticism and baseless hate, and I strive to be open-minded.

51."Which character is more challenging to write scenes for?"

Answer: I've already mentioned that at the moment, it's Seonghwa, but he's really too good for both me and the main character. I want to depict it with dignity and will try to give it more attention in the next updates. At this point, he doesn't have much to do with the main plot.

52. How many tattoos do you have?

Answer: 8

53. How old is Minhyuk?

Answer: He's 30.

54. Is it possible to leave the agency after the contract ends?

Answer: Of course. This is your story.

55. How old is Ms. Park?

Answer: 35 years old.

Answer: Of course, but when this will happen is another question.

Answer: I try to read all the stories.

59. In the May update, Lia said the phrase “I hoped to be alone all my life.” Does this mean that Lia is only interested in girls, otherwise where does she have such a desire?

Answer: Yes, Lia is only interested in girls, which is why she implied that she would still be alone for most of her life.

60. Will we learn about Dean's past?

Answer: Gradually we learn about the past of all the characters, but not immediately.

61. Is there a possibility of introducing two female love interests in the next story?

Answer: I'm already thinking about it. At least make one complete female LI, and one incomplete.

62. Will we meet Castiel's father in future updates?

Answer: Most likely, we are destined to meet him, no matter how we want it or not.

63. Have the wishes and expectations of the audience ever influenced the course of the story? Did you adapt the script to the wishes of the audience?

Answer: Of course, I included the thread with Dean at the request of the fandom, but earlier I felt the chemistry between them, if I had not felt this, I would not have been able to introduce this love line.

64. Which GOE favourite was created first?

Answer: Based on the design document in which I described the story, plot and characters, then Seonghwa was described first, based on how I imagined the character, his character, how he would participate in the plot, then Castiel.

65. Will there be a trip to the Garden of Eden club in the upcoming update?

Answer: This is a spoiler, but I can say that from the next update we will delve more and more into the investigation.

67. Is there a possibility of a polyamorous relationship in the future?

Answer: Probably not in this story, but I would consider it for the next story.

What hunts the hunter?

I wanted to make this illustration for the loongest time. Originally it was going to only feature the common volg, but I revisited my old watercolor doodle(featured below) and decided to design more bulky version- closer to the og design. Sometime in the future I may make info illustrations of other creations of Anguine Empire. Part of Axolotl Afterparty worldbuilding setting. Catfolk silhouette for scale.🐱

Some more information blurbs: -Red Volgs are omnivorous pack hunters, with preference for meat. Their presence disturbs ecosystem of Catplanet's forests. They have few predators, however there is a chance that eventually the local species will adapt to hunting them. The borses are already aggressive against Volgs. -Volg will always attempt to attack Catfolk, that's the only thing they were created to do, there's no choice. -In absence of sense of sight, Volgs rely on extremely sharp sense of smell, as well as sensing vibrations and sounds. -In modern times, there's few labs on Catplanet, where Anguine and Catfolk scientists try to come up with ways to keep Volg population low and to eventually eradicate them from Catplanet.

Here goes nothing, as we used to say back when I was a kid. Chrissie Blaze, in her 2008 book Mercury Retrograde, has checklist “survival guides” for Mercury Rx in every sign. Here is the Capricorn one:

Revise your plans thoroughly to ensure the foundations are solid.

Hike to the top of your nearest hill or mountain but don’t forget the sunscreen, water bottle and Band-Aids.

Look around for a better job but don’t leave your current one.

Give a generous donation to your favorite charity.

What most of us are going to discover is that we got a little sloppy during Mercury in Sagittarius - especially once Mercury entered the pre-retrograde shadow - and the result of that sloppiness has been an inability to continue forward with our plans. Others of us will find that our failure to commit to anything has led to similar stalled results. And still others may find that their fear of “the other,” and their insistence that their culture is the Only Valid Culture, prevents them from making any constructive progress.

Perhaps some combination of all three, even.

We are still in the “Last Quarter” phase of the Mercury-Sun cycle, and I think I would liken it more to the Balsamic lunar phase: let go of the past, and envision the future. We’re working toward the Mercury-Sun inferior conjunction on December 22 (at 0°39’ Capricorn). Along the way:

Thursday, December 14 - Mercury Rx/Capricorn semi-sextile Ceres/Sagittarius, 8°17’. Dissatisfaction; an inkling of what went wrong. We can tell we’ve gone off-track.

Monday, December 18 - Mercury Rx/Capricorn trine Jupiter Rx/Taurus, 5°51’. Second trine of three. Think back to December 7: we’ll revisit an issue raised at that time, looking at it a little more deeply.

Tuesday, December 19 - Mercury Rx/Capricorn (4°42’) sesquisquare Uranus Rx/Taurus (19°42’). These sesquisquares show delayed results. Something we wanted is denied, but if we’re patient (and if we can address matters successfully) we may obtain it in the future. The problem is that trines are often too easy, and we tend to sleep right through them.

Wednesday, December 20 - Mercury Rx/Capricorn (3°42’) semi-square Venus/Scorpio (18°42’). The last aspect Mercury made before stationing retrograde was a sextile to Venus/Scorpio. What we thought was a done deal, suddenly doesn’t seem like a sure thing. Frustrations leading to a null result.

Thursday, December 21 - Mercury Rx/Capricorn sextile Saturn/Pisces, 2°22’. This is a wise old grandparent taking us by the hand and starting out a discourse with, “Child, this is the problem.” But again, this is an easy aspect, and we have to be very alert to benefit.

Cap-Ironman Rec Week - Wonderous Wednesday

Strap in for some AU’s everybody! My favourite part of this theme might be that every fanfic is technically someone’s alternate universe, and boy does this ship have some absolute knockouts. one foot in (and one foot back) by kehinki

This isn't the worst thing that's ever happened to Tony, but it's in the top five.

Notes: This feels like one of the first soulmate AU’s I ever read for this ship, and a really formative one. Love the world building, the character progression, and there are a couple scenes that have stayed incredibly clear in my memory over the years of going back to it over and over again. Bulletproof by foxxcub At age fifteen, Steve Rogers had been in love with Tony Stark. By age twenty, he’d (mostly) gotten over it. And then he promptly became Tony Stark's fuck buddy. Notes: It takes real talent to keep the characterisation on-point and the magic alive in a no superpowers AU, but the world and its people is so richly depicted in this fic that it just feels true to Steve and Tony. An old favourite, and one I have much joy revisiting.

Lord Tony Stark, the king's appointed consort, does his duty as well, even though he'd enjoy his duty more if it actually involved sleeping with the king. As it doesn't, he's just resigned. The war that made Steve king and cost him nearly everything may be over, but a meeting of old enemies might stir up some ghosts none of them are prepared for. Notes: Ooh, kings and sorcerers, what’s not to love? I love how well each character here ‘slots’ into their designated role, and how we get some lovely superhero style identity porn but set in this world instead. And of course, both Steve and Tony are note-perfect. Big recommend! Counterpart by sara_holmes coun•ter•part [koun-ter-pahrt] [noun] 1. a person or thing closely resembling another, especially in function. 2. a copy; duplicate. 3. one of two parts that fit, complete, or complement one another.Just because Hydra used the DNA of a Captain America from another dimension to create a lab-grown, six-year-old super-soldier, it doesn't mean that said six-year old super-soldier is biologically Steve's, right?(Where Steve wants to ban Clint from bringing things home from alternative dimensions, until he doesn't.) Note: I love this fic’s take on accidental kid acquisition - Steve goes through so many understandably mixed feelings here. Steve and Tony are an established pair who navigate the trials as well as the rewards of parenthood, featuring an excellent supporting cast, and it’s just a lovely read overall. Slipping Off The Page Into Your Hands by Sineala Soulmates have their first words to each other written on their wrists. This should make it easy. For Steve and Tony, it is anything but. Steve's problem is that the future he has awoken into is nothing he was ever expecting: he has a soulmate now. Who might be a robot. And if his soulmate is Iron Man, how can he be so attracted to Tony Stark? It should be impossible. Tony's problem is that he is Iron Man, his soulmate is a man whom he in no way deserves, and he is going to fight everything in his heart and do his best to make sure Steve never, ever finds out the whole truth. Notes: Soulmate AU plus identity porn, oh my oh my :D This is just a rollicking ride with all the feels, pining, dumb decisions and sweet catharsis you could ever hope for. Man I love AUs so much. This Is My Least Favourite You by Kiyaar In Steve's fantasies, he never travels to the future because Tony never violates him. Tony never violates him because there are no incursions. There are no incursions because there are no Avengers. There are no Avengers and so there can be no love and no pain and no heartbreak. You can’t miss what you’ve never had. Notes: Look, I love canon divergence fix-its. Thrive on them. This is not that - this is when the only thing you can do with the twisted corpse of canon is make it much, much worse and then revel in the pain. Great writing, A+ pain, no regrets. Issues by  so_shhy In which Steve has a crippling crush on Tony Stark, Tony is oblivious and obnoxious, and Bucky expresses his disapproval via passive-aggressive comics. Notes: An absolutely delightful modern/no abilities AU in which Steve and Bucky write some comics featuring a superhero team called the Avengers, and Steve can’t help himself from... ahem, being a little too loving in his artistic depictions of Iron Man. So entertaining, I cackled multiple times, and Bucky’s outsider POV is particularly great. Looking for Heaven by  foxxcub

Notes: This one’s another wonderful trip down nostalgia lane. Regency meets marriage of convenience, with all the trappings that premise would entail and a delight from start to finish. Not Such a Compromise by  Pookaseraph The death of her brother, Lt. James Barnes, has placed Miss Stephanie Rogers in the difficult position of needing to find a husband to see to it that her and her mother are taken care of. Miss Roger was not built for such a compromise, but perhaps Mr. Anthony Stark will not be such a compromise after all. Notes: Yes, it’s another Regency AU, what about it? :D Despite the trappings of gender and class, Stephanie remains so very Steve in how she moves through the world, and the premise enhances the miscommunication between the two, but in a way that is a joy to see resolved. Just a thoroughly enjoyable read. 99 problems (and the dice ain't one) by  kellifer_fic Tony's life is almost perfect. He lives in a converted warehouse full of friends (and one frenemy), has a job that leaves him plenty of time to think about other things and a regular Friday night campaign. If his best friend, Steve Rogers, hadn't moved away to New York and left him behind, then perfection would've been achieved. Tony can roll with the punches though and he's almost all the way over that little bump in the road (shut up Bruce, he totally is) when Steve moves back, looking taller and broader and more confident than ever and Tony's left with a converted warehouse full of friends (and one frenemy), a job that leaves him plenty of time to think about other things, a regular Friday night campaign and the uncomfortable realization that maybe he's in love with his best friend and has been since he was sixteen. Notes: I call this the sitcom AU if only because of the setup, but the general themes of Tony trying to cope with changes in his life and status quo are funny as well as really resonant to all those (us) who aren’t superheroes. And a fantastic ensemble to fill the world out <3 And that’s that. Shower all the authors with some love and well-deserved compliments!
