ok so as someone still relatively new to TWST (and someone just taking the events as they come to EN instead of keeping up with the JP side) and as a Jack Howl simp

I am of the (CORRECT) opinion that he should absolutely get an Applepom look because... fwuffy. and hat with ear holes. and he'd be SO insistent that he's used to the cold and doesn't need it but he will take it once it's insisted on because he's polite and won't refuse Gramma Felmier

Also I think a fun twist on the "someone's sled breaks and their plushie tears so they have to come up with another idea" bit from the other event is that Jack goes wolf mode to pull the sled (because as said in his starsending wish he pulls sleds back at home on breaks to try and get faster as a wolf!)

I'm biased though because I need more Jacc in my life

Felix returns to town to confront his parents but ends up becoming the enemy when he sees they haven't changed view wise. Things come to a head when Felix blows up the lab killing the family and making Neil watch. This book also introduces Father Time a mutant with the ability to rewind and temporarily stop time. He confronts Felix and takes him on as his apprentice after Neil beats the crap outta him in a feral rage and he realizes the horror of what he did. The expedition consists of engineers, builders and scientists of all kinds. Nowadays there is some division: obviously the scientists are there to focus on science stuff, not to spend their precious time doing heavy lifting — they've got the rest of the gang to do the job. However the first couple of years were wildly busy, since literally everything had to be mapped out, established and made on the spot, before any kind of deeper scientific studies could take place. Livable bases, landing pads, water and oxygen generators, power generators, radio towers, basic roads... You name it. So yes, at that time it was exactly how you've described it! + everyone is responsible for expanding, upgrading and fixing their own stations and labs to this day. But they've got a very wide range of specialists available, so there's rarely a problem that couldn't be fixed with a radio call or a helping hand.

There are also two admins at play: social [Grian] and tech [Xisuma]. Their job is making sure everything works, be it vital systems or interactions within and outside of Minecrea. If there's any kind of problem, it's their responsibility to find a way to solve it and keep the wheels turning. It was all on Xisuma at first, but it quickly became apparent this was way too big of a task for a single man to handle, so when Grian (who had previously had an experience of leading the Europa-Jupiter II expedition for a bit) came along, they've split it.

And, of course, every scientist has their own field of research, as well as every builder or engineer has their own specific work plan. I plan on touching on it in character info posts individually, but here are some examples:

Cleo is a biologist who specializes on extraterrestrial zoology and does research & taxidermy on wildlife

Zed is a planetologist and studies basically anything he can lay his hands on

Cub is an astrophysicist observing HC-1304 (gas giant which Minecrea orbits) and its moons

Felassan - some random reactions: [one, two, three]. I was sooo excited and shook to see Felassan in the game!! I yelped/hooted out loud like a clown (...) and then it was kind of overwhelming (in a good way). and then it took me quite some time to process or gather my thoughts about it. I was sure that there would at least be some references to him in codexes/notes etc or allusions made in passing dialogue like Cole and Solas’ lines about him in Trespasser. then when the marketing mentioned that we would see flashbacks from Solas’ past in the Crossroads, I was like aaa omg, wouldn’t that be the perfect time to actually show Felassan??, as a Fade memory or flashback or spirit echo or something. so I was hoping like🕯️🕯️ but still wasn't prepared to see him as a voiced in-game model, or for the amount of content relating to him (all those codexes and notes etc) that there was.

Slaughter of the Pillars - the Pillars of the Earth are the Titans. (“Hail Mythal, adjudicator and savior! She has struck down the pillars of the earth and rendered their demesne unto the People! Praise her name forever!”) That undead boss embodies one of Solas’ greatest regrets, what he and Mythal did to the Titans during the war with them - sundering every Titan from their spirit, severing them from their dreams, which resulted in the Blight as the dreams were driven mad. it also in a sense broke the dwarves in two and caused the fall of the fate of the dwarven people. Beyond the mural-memory that pertains to this in DA:TV, there are depictions of this time in the ancient past in the DA:TV artbook: [one, two]. Annotations there describe Solas rendering the Titans tranquil and capturing their souls; dwarves as a consequence then losing their connection to magic and fleeing into the now-Tranquil earth; and the Evanuris then building Elvhenan using the power of the captured Titan souls.
