at one point he had to resort to the notes app to write what you're like but had realised he had subconsciously memorised all of it by heart. deleted it and still knows you like the back of his hand!!

weirdly knows how to pick the best candles.

the warm, nostalgic smelling ones. candles that are the perfect dash of nostalgia, that feel comforting and warm. i wonder if its in the brain or an instinct thing

for anniversaries or literally just whenever, he makes paper flower bouquets. they are so intricate and every little detail, colour and fold makes it so perfect. in-between classes or when he finishes work early, he'll be nonchalantly folding another smaller flower for the arrangement. he does it so effortlessly too 😭!!

sometimes likes to fiddle with your fingers especially if you wear rings. one of the only and very sweet moments of PDA!! gently rubs his fingertips over your knuckles and tracing all the lines. i need an akaashi keiji in my life

will send you the most beautiful, heart-wrenching and mesmerising poems at an insane hour. you'll wake up with a couple paragraphs about how important healing or taking one step at a time is, making sure you fall in love with yourself everyday too. (please do)

kozume kenma ; cherry wine - grentperez

facinated by painted nails. on holidays he might paint them black, or maybe get a little cat sticker on his index!! pick the colour he'll love it either way

cherishes your little trinkets so much 😞 polaroid of you two and stickers on the back of his phonecase, keeps some of the random stuff you give him in his pocket. you could find a rock you gave him like 3 months ago but he kept it because you said it reminded you of him??

perfectly able and capable to order things by himself, but you know he isn't the type of guy to actually seem to WANT to do it. he is too lazy to actually get up but not lazy enOUGH when it comes to you. he might hide behind you. "HE SAID NO PICKLES!!"

CRAZY beef with your plushies. or anything you hold dear honestly. he can and will get pouty. BEWARE!! you must give him a lil' kiss to earn his attention back. (loves the forehead ones)

sometimes he forgets or just doesn't want to eat. it will get to the extent where you have to spoon feed him,,please remind and encourage him to ! eating, sleeping... just can't do it without a little push.

cat parents but not exactly cat parents? 🤔 you found this stray cat once, and started visiting it everyday on the way to school. you cared for it, and when kenma picked that up he was also instantly fond of it too. now you both kinda feed it your leftover lunch when you visit the cat after school.. he's so precious with the little cat ueue.. take pictures before the moment fleets!

has the date you two met written on his controller... (he was so hesistant at first though LMAO)

shinsuke kita ; old love - yuji, putri dahlia

uses your initial for math variables. he'll use x or y sometimes, but his first option is ALWAYS your initial. you found this out on a study date once, math talk blablabla and he uses to what seems to you a 'random letter' NO. it is your initial!! 😞 when you ask he seems unfazed, but his ears are pretty red... idk guys i think he wants you

one of the people that make you stiffen up when they get physical. when he lays his head on your shoulder you instantly freeze up, trying not to move a BONE so you won't disturb him. it's like muscle memory to you LMAO.

really pretty, long lashes... if you've read part one, oikawa and tsuki are very similar :0!! loves when you graze his lashes with the back of your index finger

like akaashi, learnt how to make flowers but they're crochet 🥹 i think growing up his grandma had taught him how to crochet and all the little patterns. overtime, dedicated himself to making an arrangement every anniversary... they come with little heartfelt letters too!! (kita boyfie material COME HOME!!)

very routinal as well!! like kuroo (he is the full package) he never misses a morning or night to say good morning or good night. AND he places sticky notes around your desk or places he knows you'll be in reminding you to smile or something along those lines !!

what took the cake for me was when he left a little bag filled with goodies once he realised atsumu was sick 😣 definitely does the same for you... sends bag with a bowl of hot soup his grandma made at your front door

eita semi ; i wish you roses - kali uchis

weirdly immersed in the painting of nails as well. sometimes he'll ask you to paint his in black but he got dress-coded a week later 😓 SIKE gives NO shat and kept them on anyway. they are way too valuable to him to just erase. nails done in a simple colour he likes?? by his s/o?? wiped off?? very funny shiratorizawa

i think + the neighborhood, he likes tv girl, kendrick lamar, childish gambino but has a duality of laufey and beabadoobee's bedroom pop and fuzzy rock??

sick of people making arctic monkeys his personality 😞 musicians arise!! apart from the VBC, hes probably in a band too. small gigs here and there for school, and a few fun sessions with his friends just to play whatever. come to his gigs! (sometimes he'll magically play 10x better when you're around, he says)

share earphones with him PLEASE. on rainy bus rides or walks home, he'll play something you like hehe c:

takes you out to the mall closest to shiratorizawa to go pick up some fast food or a drink. it usually gets really crowded from all the surrounding schools so he keeps you close by the waist

and obviously the basic, will sit with you and teach you the basics of bass or electric guitar. i think he'd play a bit of percussion too (о´∀`о) sometimes he'll take you into his lap, but thats when he feels pretty clingy but very discreetly!!

please don't try to flirt with him he WON'T UNDERSTAND!!!! *gunshots*

if you say literally anything that isn't directly stating your point, he will not get it. using metaphors or just figurative language in general he is STRUGGLING. you need to say, "you're pretty." because things like "i fall in love with you every day" or "i'll find you in every universe" he will actually look at you BAFFLED. please help this man

thinks about what YOU would do. like when he is in doubt or feels like he's about to lash out, he will take a moment and literally ask himself what you'd do or say. even in tests or something completely unrelated to you he will literally ask himself what you would put in the answer box !!

face scrunch when he gets jealous ! he kinda has a lil' pout but can't bring himself to say anything. when you finally notice him he'll have this lil' (๑ˋ^ˊ ๑) face... please kiss his eyelid or the corner of lips cuz HE HAS TOO MANY PRETTY BOY PRIVILEGES!! his favourite type of kisses are the ones where you'll push his hair back and give him a forehead kiss. he'll take you in by the waist and keep you close, he likes to listen to your heart because you have his. when he feels clingy, he'll nuzzle his head into your shoulder. what a dork

will attempt to find you at his games pre and post timeskip. before the game he will try to make it not look frantic but one of his members eventually catch on 😞

camera roll is either 0.5's of the most jaw dropping, majestical sunsets and sunrises that he's experienced with you or literally anytime the sky is feeling a little different (if he's not with you at the time he WILL send them to you at either 5am or 7pm saying it reminded him of you) or the CRAZIEST 0.5's of you losing sanity or of you off guard. its wild blackmail material but he chooses not to LMAO. (because of the love in his heart, he says)

has a little photo album for you and anything you related!! he also takes the best candid photos of you and post them on close friends!! (´∀｀)

no. #1 victim of couple tiktok trends. pretends and looks like he doesn't like it, but doesn't want it to end. once you press post he will stare you down with his beautiful ahh olive hazel eyes (he wants more)

last one on the social med side, he mentions you in posts with your initials all the FLIPPIN' TIME!! his dedication is quite endearing

on days where everything becomes overstimulating, he will notice. will eye you for a while, but once he knows when it gets to a certain extent he will hand you an earphone.

༄ i’m sorry but i gotta ruin the fun, the “pisces men are trash”, “libra men are whorish”, “sagittarius men are the devil” takes are so tired. a lot of y’all just don’t like men. which is understandable! but that shit don’t be having anything to do with astrology, and that type of surface-level discourse is why people tend to not take astrology seriously in the first place

༄ lowkey piggybacking off of the last point, but i’ve had enough of y’all using y’alls exes, moms, ex-friends, 7th grade math teachers, the bitches who bullied you in high school, etc. as legitimate reasons to have predisposed hatred and bias against certain signs/placements. go book an appointment with your therapist and work it out with them. leave astrology out of it.

༄ aries, leo, sag placements come to the front, we gotta address the whole fire signs = confidence thing. fire signs are driven to get shit done, but that doesn't equate to innate confidence. if anything, fire signs have to evolve and work towards being confident in their work and appearance. i'm a leo descendant, and it's funny bc i've known so many people with prominent leo in their chart who could never relate to any of the superficial stereotypes about leo, especially not when they were growing up

༄ this is a point @seemycee actually brought up to me, but i will never understand why y’all bring up the correlation between placements/aspects and certain physical traits… and then use a celebrity (typically white or light-skinned) who has obviously gotten work done as an example…? at least use pictures of them pre-op before they had a face full of filler. y'all got 16-year-old girls on this app wondering why they don't look like ariana grande if they share the same placements as her, when in reality, ariana grande don't even look like ariana grande.

༄ we should go back to identifying as our rising signs instead of our sun signs. i’m not discrediting the importance of our sun signs or the role it plays in our charts, but i can definitely see why traditional astrologers prioritized the role our ascendant plays in our charts over the sun’s, especially considering the fact that it dictates the entirety of your chart in a sense. i’m also biased tho bc i’ve personally always related more to my rising than my sun for the most part

༄ this is more so something i’ve noticed with how astrology is perceived in popular culture and less in the astro community, but i wish people recognized the importance of the planets as much as they did the zodiac signs. and this isn’t to imply that the signs aren’t important at all bc they definitely are, but in terms of how astrology is generally perceived, i feel like the planets (and aspects as well) are often left out of the conversation when they can give you so much more context than the signs can in some, if not most cases

༄ i wish y'all addressed venus' association with creativity and artistic abilities as much as y'all acknowledge it's association with physical beauty, romance, and aesthetics. venus is also indicative of the values you hold and the things that you assign worth to, and i lowkey hate the way that those attributes tend to get swept under the rug most of the time

༄ speaking of venus, i feel like there should be more inclusive language used surrounding the archetypes of venus and mars (and astrology in general). not everyone resonates with "feminine" and "masculine" terminology, and i think it's always worth mentioning that this phrasing is interchangeable with terms like "light" and "dark", "yin" and "yang", etc. this is also important not just in terms of inclusivity, but also because some of y'all (whether consciously or subconsciously) use these gendered-archetypes to validate unhealthy ideologies/standards surrounding gender expression. a lot of you bitches be on here sounding just like them podcast bros and i don't even think y'all realize it

༄ i feel like the moon phase you’re born under holds a lot more significance than people tend to acknowledge at times, it should be brought up more often in conversations regarding the moon and it’s influence in a chart

༄ i don’t want to shit on the asteroid girlies bc i feel like y’all get dragged enough by the traditional astrologers, and i personally have no problem with anyone wanting to learn about asteroids. but i will say, modern/younger astrologers would benefit more from acknowledging the planets and asteroids through the context of astronomy, instead of going based off of “vibes” and “aesthetic archetypes”. i feel like acknowledging the fact that there are ~1.7 million asteroids and they’re all just specks of dust in comparison to the large, personal planets, actually helps to put things into perspective when understanding how their energy in your chart is actually playing out

༄ i’ve seen this point being made for the past couple of days on my timeline and i thought i’d note it here as well, fatalistic interpretations of certain aspects and placements is extremely dangerous and insensitive. i have no issue with acknowledging a “pattern” in terms of how certain aspects/placements in a chart can manifest, and i would even argue it’s disingenuous to disregard the negative ways that they might potentially show up in someone's life. but blatantly being like “you have xyz aspecting neptune, pluto in [insert house here], nessus square whatever-the-fuck, and so therefore you’re definitely going to experience addiction, mental illness, sexual abuse, death, etc.” is weird and irresponsible

hey, it's c! i know this was a long awaited post but, it's here now. in this post, i'll be giving you a guide on how to script your dr. this process can either be enjoyable or stressful because of not knowing where to start, but that's why i'm here! feel free to script your dr as you're reading this! let's dive in!

what is a script?

A script is a written version of all the details of you within your desired reality, scenarios you want to happen, the relationships you want to have, and the things that you own etc. I will say it once again, you don't need a script! but it is extremely helpful to organize all your thoughts about what you want for your desired reality.

what can you script?

You can script anything to your hearts desires! Don't take too much advantage of that information. I know it isn't any of my business about what you choose to script but don't be scripting anything inhumane. Come on now. Anyway, you can script things like unlimited money, (if you have a harry potter dr) a charm to make your period stop, or one of your pets into your dr. Stuff like that!

where to script?

You can use anything to script your desired reality! You can use a physical journal, the notes app in your phone, a google doc, google slides, canva, notion, etc. Basically, anywhere you can write or type. For those who want to keep your script a secret, I'd recommend a digital script rather than a physical one. You can get a journal app that requires a code to it so that no one gets in.

Then lastly, you can get the lifa app on the app store! It's like a pre-made script and all you have to do is add what you want. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who has a hard time scripting on their own or just wants to get done with the process of scripting. I think there is a code on the app as well!

how to script

Finally, the part you guys have been waiting for. Everyone start taking notes. I'm gonna start off with the basics of what you'll need for your script. I took some screenshots from my script that can help you guys out!

Reality or Shifting Information! this will include: your time ratio (1 hr in my CR = 1 week in my DR), the timeline ("I'm shifting to 4th year, 1994), safety (safeword, safe action), scenarios (something as simple as going to get ice cream with your comfort character), and or arrival (describe what happens when you wake up in your dr/your first day in your dr).

Personal Information! this will include: about me tab (name, age, birthdate, hobbies, hygiene etc.), appearance (how you want to look/claims), wardrobe (what you'll have in your closet), backstory/plot (write about your backstory and how you're apart of the plot/change the plot if you want).

Relationships! this will include: s/o, family, friends, and pet. You can basically just list how old they are, who they are to you, where and how you met them, etc.

Belongings or Assets! this will include: finances, your house and or dorm, vehicles, and miscellaneous items. Basically whatever you want to own, how it looks like, what it can do.

[OPTIONAL] Places! this will include: any main spots that you'll know you'll be at and you can script that you own the place, eventually WILL own the place, or live there etc.

Extra! this will include: if you want to separately talk about how you become a vampire, get powers etc, (if you go to school/work in that dr) a schedule tab, calendar (come up with events or holidays you want to celebrate), immunities (whatever you're immune to).

Kuroken AU where Kuroo looks through Kenma's tablet notes app for some passwords Kenma told him would be there. He finds what he needs but scrolling through the notes he finds something else. He finds a note, last updated three weeks ago and titled "Kuro" and nothing else.

It's a list and a pretty long one at that. It goes like this:

Favorite Soup: Miso because he's boring, but sometimes he prefers it with clam or fish balls because he likes his docosahexaenoic acid

Favorite Suit Fabric: Worsted wool, because he likes how comfortable it is, but many of his current ones are a polyester blend for less wrinkles. I prefer him in silk though

Favorite Tie: Standard sized with basic patterns like stripes or polka dots because he "needs to be professional but not too much that he loses personality." Buy him novelty ties sparingly or he'll be tempted to wear the tackiest ones everyday like a high school science teacher

Favorite color: Red and blue in equal amounts since that's what makes up half his clothes in our closet. I don't think he's noticed yet. Black is my favorite color on him, especially when it's form fitting

Favorite Dessert: Dorayaki, but he doesn't have much of a sweet tooth because he's an old man that likes salty foods more

Favorite Onigiri Filling: Umeboshi because it reminds him of his grandparents

Favorite Vending Machine Drink: Chilled green tea because it's not sweet for his old man taste buds

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Vanilla like his sex fantasies and claims it's a good base to add toppings, though he only ever adds sprinkles

Favorite Shampoo Scent: He likes green apple because he says it's a fresh scent, but we both know it's because I've been using green apple shampoo all my life and still do, and he's too lazy to buy his own shampoo now that he lives with me

Favorite Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener Brands: 'Attack' because that's what his dad uses and 'FaFa' because he finds the brand bear mascot cute

Favorite Alcoholic Beverage: Whiskey on the rocks and calls it his big boy drink. He also likes warm shochu in the winter

Favorite Sports Shoe Brand: ASICS, he likes to have a white pair to coordinate with his suits when he needs to be on the court on business. He keeps separate black ones for his sport activities so the business ones stay clean longer

Favorite Flower: Camellia, since he brings them to me all the time. I asked the gardener to plant some in the back garden, so he can have a supply closer to home

Favorite Type of Fish: Mackerel because it's affordable and high in nutrients

Coffee or Tea? He prefers hot teas without any sugar, but his coffee must be black if he drinks it, because he's boring and a tired salaryman. DO NOT give him espresso though, he can't handle it and also do not offer creamers or sugars because he claims it's for the youths

Things He Needs:

New socks, I saw some holes on his work socks the other day

New cologne, because he's running out and I like him smelling nice

More shaving cream and razors since he doesn't like how scratchy his skin feels, even though I like it

A new dress shirt since I accidentally spilled sauce on one of his favorite ones when I wore it and I couldn't clean the stain off

More hoodies so I can steal his old ones permanently

New volleyball equipment for the backyard so he can practice at home

New ties because all my tugging him down for kisses ruined the fabric of many of the ones he currently has

A new bento box for his lunch since he's still using the one from university

iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad because he needs to upgrade and get with the times

A copy of Pokemon Pearl so I can trade exclusives easier and also so I can beat his ass in battle

New slippers since the cats peed on his current ones while he was at work and I don't think he's caught on yet

A gaming chair so he can join me in streams and videos easier

Things He Likes (and I like):

Grocery store dates

When I win him stuffed animals at festivals

When I make him lunch for work

When I wear his shirts and nothing else

When I kiss him on the forehead before he heads off to work

Hugging him close at night when he's had a bad day

Holding my hand or having his arm over my shoulders when we're walking

When I leave the door unlocked when I'm in the shower

When I let him sleep on my lap while I play my games

Kuroo scrolled through the rest of Kenma's notes about him, it was full of things he liked and how he liked them and things he needed and why. And despite the teasing commentary in some, Kuroo couldn't help but feel loved.

They were all observations, things Kuroo hadn't even noticed about himself; and they were quiet, detailed and sometimes snarky, typical of Kenma. He reached the end of the very very long list to what must've been the newest update from three weeks ago.

It read: Ring Size - 67 mm in circumference, I'll need to ask what size that is for rings at the jewelers.

Kuroo wanted to kiss him. And he did when Kenma got home later that day from the errand he had to run that afternoon.

Kenma barely leaves the genkan before Kuroo has him in his arms, kissing him fervently "What's gotten into you?" Kenma asks, a little dazed and a couple inches off the floor for optimal kissing distance.

Kuroo lowers Kenma down, but doesn't let go "I'm just so in love with you."

Kenma looks up at him, admiration very evident, "I love you too."

It's a quiet night for them, Kuroo finds himself with his head on Kenma's lap as they watch the latest volleyball ball match of the season. Kuroo comments on a failed play and how it would've been better if they'd done it another way.

"Easily the worst play this game, right Kenma?" Silence. "Kenma?" Kuroo looks up at Kenma, expecting him to be on his phone, but instead he's looking down at him, eyes smiling, but a hint of nervousness, a hint of shyness not typical of Kenma.

At least not when it comes to Kuroo. Kuroo reaches up to caress Kenma's cheek, "Everything alright?"

Kenma brings his hand over Kuroo's, "I'm just so in love with you."

Kuroo snorts "That's my line"

"Can it be my line too?"

"You can have anything you want," Kuroo whispers as he turns his hand to hold Kenma's instead.

"Can I have your hand then?" Kenma says threading his fingers with Kuroo's.

"You're holding it?"

Kenma scrunches his nose "Wrong hand."

Kuroo raises his other one, "This one?"

Kenma rolls his eyes, digging through his hoodie pocket "Not the right hand either." He takes out a ring, a simple platinum band with small neat stones around it, "This hand."

Kuroo looks from the ring in Kenma's hand to his face and back to the ring. "Ring Size: 67 mm in circumference. I'll need to ask what size that is for rings at the jewelers" the last update on Kenma's list had said.

"Tetsurou, will you marry me?"

Kuroo answers by leaning up and kissing the love of his life.

Kenma responds quickly, dragging and rearranging Kuroo on top of him, game forgotten as they remained liplocked for the rest of the evening.

"So is that a yes?" Kenma asks coyly as he draws shapes on Kuroo's chest.

They might've done more than kiss on their couch if their pants on the carpet were any indication of that. Kuroo rubs his chin, pretending to think, "I think it's only fair to elope now that you've deflowered me"

Kenma scowls pinching Kuroo's nipple making him yelp in pain, "I change my mind. I don't want your hand in marriage."

"No take backs," Kuroo pinches Kenma's ass in revenge. "Besides I found the list that proves you love me" he teases

"What list?"

"The one on your tablet in your notes where you list all my favorite things"

"You found that??"

"Yeah, this morning when I was looking for those passwords you told me were there"

"Oh" Kenma says, face red trying to cover it with his hair, "Well, you have a list of me too"

Kuroo tucks Kenma's hair behind his ear so he can see his face again, "Yeah, I do" he looks at him with fond eyes, "I'm just so in love with you."

Kenma smiles, fondness and admiration evident as he looks at Kuroo, "I'm just so in love with you too," he says as he leans down to kiss Kuroo once more as tenderly as he feels for the love of his life.

They spend the rest of their night in each other's arms, ring long forgotten, until the next morning when they find it between the cushions.

Kuroo finally says Yes when Kenma asks again for his hand in marriage over breakfast, slipping the ring on his finger, 67 mm in circumference.

If Joker uses any social media platforms, it’s in an anonymous fashion.

Joker is on Twitch because he's secretly a gamer but he doesn't use a cam. He loves stalking your personal blog and he's always going down a rabbit hole on YouTube.

You won't find him anywhere that requires a legal profile. Anything that can be traced back to him and most importantly you is a no go. He won't risk you being used as blackmail or worse.

He'll check your Patreon from time to time if you're a digital artist or something of the sort but other than that, his phone is used primary for communication with you.

Joker would rather leave behind sticky notes or his signature playing cards than send a text. He scatters the apartment with little love notes; it’s so corny but sweet.

Now on the other hand if you need assistance whether it be for a skit, making a reel, etc., best believe Joker will hold your camera for you, he'll help you edit videos, he’ll even direct the content so its the best on the internet!

He'll be so supportive if you're a content creator. Scratch that. Joker is supportive in everything you do!

Granted he doesn't understands a lick of social media or its lingo, he will go above and beyond to make sure your content is phenomenal.

Need a nice shot of the Gotham Bridge or a background of somewhere cool? Its mysteriously empty for your use...

Need good lighting for a quick reel? Joker is setting off explosions in the background. Fire is really good natural lighting... far better than a ring light. 👀

That being said.. Joker grew up with good music like back when music meant something—not just mindless noise to add onto a video for likes.

He has an ear for jazz, crooner, classic R&B, and the occasional rock, heavy metal stuff if it has relatable lyrics (it channels his inner psycho don't judge him)

He cannot stand pop music or anything that's featured on the top 100's or played on repeat in a department store. He will stab someone over it. No questions asked.

If his Bunny is singing/dancing along to it he might make an exception because your voice is so soothing to him, it puts a different spin to the song. There's still a fifty fifty change he's tuning it out.

But he strongly believes all boy bands should be executed, no exceptions. That's where he draws the line.

Prompt: How the OM! Brothers shop for groceries and stuff ft. me!

Lucifer

This old man has memorised the layout of all his favourite stores. He makes a neat little list in a notebook. He will not type his list in the notes app of his DDD. And his list will be in the order of how he walks through the aisles.

Like, if the first few aisles of the store have foodstuff, those will be at the very top of the list. I add stuff to my list as and when I remember them, so if I ever make a list for him he will most definitely forget to buy something and then blame it on my lacking list-making skills (my mom does this).

No matter how many things we need to buy this man will NEVER take a cart. He will take 3 baskets if required, and give two of them to me. Also will not buy anything that is not on his list. Is ice cream on his list? No? Then I guess we're not getting it...

Man speedwalks through the store. Like there's no time to see which brand of chips I want, I take my eyes off him for one second and he's already at the checkout counter-

Gives everyone who takes their time deciding what to buy, yknow, like a normal person, a glare so intense you'd think they offended his entire lineage or something.

Might yell at me like once for being slow or something during our shopping trip, then make it up to me by buying me ice cream on the way home (Lucifer is an Asian parent confirmed)

Overall, I'd give him 7/10 because he does get the job done, but I will not be the first to volunteer to go with him.

Mammon

List? What list? Haha I'm gonna have to be the responsible adult here-

He never makes a list, because 'he remembers it all in his head anyway'. I'd make a list, then proceed to drag him everywhere, making him hold the stuff.

Complains a bit (a lot) about having to follow me around, but will shut up if I glare at him

Remembers what his brothers need, but always forgets stuff that he needs and when we get home he gives me his best puppy dog eyes and goes "Actually..."

With the amount of trouble this dork can get in I'm pretty sure we're banned from at least one store-

Doesn't care what I put in the cart as long as he can do the same.

We end up forgetting a few items and then having to go back to the store before Lucifer finds out. Then we get ourselves some smoothies as a reward :3

People would hate us because we're the kind of idiots to stand in an aisle taking up all the space while arguing very loudly about cereal brands-

5/10, we're both too easily distracted and absolute menaces when it comes to shopping.

My boy gets all his stuff from Akuzon so I dunno how I'd get him to come grocery shopping with me. If no one else is free that day, he might come with me. Though he'd try to convince me to order from Akuzon before placing a foot out the door-

Whose idea was it to let two socially-inept introverts shop without their assigned extrovert/ambivert? If there are no self-checkout counters we would play rock, paper, scissors to determine who makes small talk with the cashier.

We'll end up buying a lot of junk food and soda. Again I feel like I'd have to make the list and Levi would help with carrying the stuff but I'm sure he'd also add stuff that he wants.

Doesn't care much about like, the necessities? Like, it's ok with him if I wanna get fresh veggies or milk but he won't be one to suggest it if I don't.

Levi gets lost at one point because I'm bad at keeping track of people who come grocery shopping with me and I'm gonna get called to the front desk to get him.

On the way home I take him to the bookstore, get him some new manga and me new books for having survived that ordeal.

9/10, he's like a very well-behaved, anxious kid who occasionally tugs on your clothes and asks you if he can get his favourite bag of chips.

Satan

He won't like this, but he probably is like a toned-down version of Lucifer, except he makes the list in the notes app of his DDD.

Pretty flexible with what we can buy, he'd let me get what I want, within a limit though. Knows how to tell what is fresh and what isn't so I let him select the fruits and veggies

He also speedwalks, but holds my hand so I don't get lost <3

Meanwhile I'm trying to keep up without falling and apologizing to all the people I bump into. Ain't my fault I got little legs-

Hates it when people bump into him and don't apologize so my main job is making sure he doesn't blow up and get us thrown out of the store-

Definitely teases me when I can't reach something before being a gentleman and getting it for me

We end up going to a cat cafe before going home

10/10, I would enjoy it. Very much date vibes.

He would happily follow me on my grocery runs.

Very easily distracted, I'd need to hold onto him so I dont lose him.

Very good at reminding me what needs to be bought. Has his own list of things that are needed.

Spends a ton of time and takes utmost care in choosing the best of everything. He has a good eye when it comes to stuff like this.

Knows exactly what his brothers like or need and makes my life so much more easier.

Will let me buy everything and anything I want because he is amazing like that.

Flirts with the cashier during checkout and gets us a discount. I aspire to be like him one day-

On the way home we end up going to boutiques so he can do his own little shopping~

Beel is a sweetheart. I can see him always volunteering to go grocery shopping with me.

Another one I need to be cautious about, he might wander off if he finds something particularly appetizing. Will need to have something on hand to satiate his hunger.

He'd be content with following me around while carrying stuff. Occasionally pipes in when he sees something he heard his brothers wanted.

We will buy a ton of snacks. Now to keep him from opening any of those before we check out...

Probably wouldn't let me get everything I want, but will still be willing to let me get junk food as long as I promise to share them with him.

On the way home we go and have a meal at a restaurant, and then once we're home he helps me put everything away.

10/10, an absolute sweetheart as long as he has something to munch on while we work.

This sadistic little bastard enjoys abusing his baby of the family privilege. Annoys the fuck out of me while we're in the store because he knows I'll try my best not to lose my composure in a public place.

The kind of asshole to pick something up and put it somewhere it's not supposed to be. Ever found a bar of soap next to rows of cereals? It's his handiwork, and he's so smug about it I swear-

Gets lost on purpose, to the point where I contemplate leaving him in the store and going home on my own.

Has. To. Comment. On. Every. Single. Thing. I. Get. That is until I threaten to not get the detergent he likes, and suddenly he's a good boy helping me by holding everything

Could care less about what I buy as long as I buy enough for him, Beel and me to share, but like I said before, will comment on everything.

We come straight home and this man just leaves me in the kitchen alone?? He won't help me put away the groceries, he goes straight to his bed.

3/10, there is very little chance I won't try to strangle him on the way back home out of frustration.

Obey Me (OG) Newbie Guide

Author's Note

There are multiple guides for this game existing already. Most could be found in Obey Me sub-Reddit or by searching in Google. Since the game is already 4 years old, this game has finished the main storyline and already moved on to a new prequel game called Obey Me Nightbringer (NB). Obey Me (OG) is still up and running at the time of this writing, since they run the events in both OG and NB, so if you want to still play this game, then that's up to you. Keep in mind though that this game is grindy.

In this post, I'll make a concise guide that will help new players (hopefully) traverse in the game. As always, this guide isn't only from my own experience, because I'm going to include tips from different sources here. The links for the sources could be found at the bottom of this post. I've created this guide with the idea that this is my game notes just in case I forgot about this game.

When starting an account

You can't reroll account in this game thru normal means.

It's not recommended to reroll in this game since you'll get a free UR Asmodeus card in mail but, if you're like other players who want to reroll just to get a card of their favorite guy or you want to get ahead by having more UR cards early in the game, then here are the steps.

Play the tutorial by skipping dialogues until you get a 10-pull. The cards you'll get is fixed.

Keep skipping until you clear 1-6.

Click the home button and go to mail after being bombed with announcements. Claim all. (You'll get enough to do a 10-pull.)

Roll in Nightmare. Preferably in event banner.

If you don't like the results, create transfer code for this account. (Walkthrough on how to setup Transfer Password here.)

Close the app in this phone.

Have a second phone or an emulator (e.g. Bluestacks) with Obey Me app.

Open the Obey Me app in the second phone or emulator.

From the title screen, click Transfer Data > Enter Transfer Code > Input your Transfer Code and Transfer Password > Tap Transfer

Once done, the account is now transferred to the second phone/emulator. Close the app.

You could use the first phone to create another account again.

All about UR or UR+ cards

UR/UR+ cards are the endgame goal to collect in the game. The difference is that UR+ cards either have outfit for character or moving background, while UR cards don't. Both have similar power level.

UR/UR+ card is the highest rarity. SSR cards could work for early game, but would need to be replaced once you reach harder content in game.

There are two types of cards needed to create a team - demon cards and memory cards. Demon cards can be obtained from Chapter A, any event banners, or event reward ladder, while Memory cards from Chapter M, from event reward ladder, or from shard farming in hard mode in lesson 61+. Chapter A and Chapter M are considered standard banners in game.

NOTE: You can't have 2 demon cards of the same character in 1 team. You need to have varying characters for each attribute.

Different ways to obtain UR/UR+ cards:

free pull in Chapter A for demon cards

free pull in Chapter M for memory cards

[RECOMMENDED] pulling in event banners with devil points (DP) or demon vouchers (DV)

[NOT RECOMMENDED] pulling in Chapter A and Chapter M with DP or DV

buying UR card shards in Akuzon with raven (Akuzon > Exchange Raven > Piece of Card)

grinding past events in Lonely Devil for UR cards

UR memory card shard grinding in hard mode of Lesson 61+

UR memory card from limited-time event login rewards (happens during holidays or anniversaries)

UR demon card from 10-pull birthday banner

** It is advised to save up the DP and DV for the limited-time event banners.

** It is advised to save up DP or DV enough for a 10-pull before your birthday. The date you write as your birthday will have a special 10-pull banner that will guarantee a UR card.

NOTE: You need 80 card pieces and 60,000 grimm to form a single UR card.

Surprise Guest

Surprise Guest randomly comes out after you manually battle a stage. One of the 3 guys in the demon cards you used will appear. Getting their 3 interactions right make them gain intimacy points.

Their preferred touch interactions after battles can be found here. Better go look at the list yourself because the options are many.

You can also get gifts when you get a heart reaction for all 3 interactions. You could get 6 gifts per day. Gifts include:

2 AP x10

2 Grimm x1,000

2 Raven x1

There are several ways to obtain gift items for characters during Surprise Guest:

All about Devil Points (DP)

Devil Points are premium currency used in game and can be bought using real money.

From one-time DP sources [free]:

clearing the boss stages in each lesson, DP found in To Do > Total > Tasks

reaching certain point requirements in event reward ladder

clearing the missions in To Do > Total

clearing the missions in To Do > Demons

claiming event login rewards (happens during holidays and anniversaries)

From recurring DP sources:

completing To Do > Daily (18 DP)

claiming Day 8 and Day 14 rewards in Attendance card for non-VIP players (10 DP)

claiming Day 8 and Day 14 rewards in VIP Login Bonus for VIP players (30 DP)

TIP: To do the level up card x3 and upgrade devil tree x5 daily mission, do these using N, R, SR, and SSR cards you have. You could easily get these missions done with minimal grimm cost.

All about Demon Vouchers (DV)

Demon vouchers are used to pull in Chapter A and Chapter M in Nightmare. These can also be used in limited-time event banners.

Ways to obtain DV:

unlocking gift nodes in Devil's Tree in cards. (Click here to know the specific cards.)

buying DV in Akuzon > Exchange Raven > Nightmare, costs 45 raven

completing missions in To Do (Click here to know what specific missions rewards DV.)

claiming event login rewards (happens during holidays and anniversaries)

reaching certain point requirement in event reward ladders

buying the flash sales with DP

[PRIORITY] Level Up sale - costs 99 DP

Solomon's Summoning Sale - costs 150 DP

You Got This Set L - costs 500 DP

** Congratulations Set Flash Sale (Level Up sale) does not occur until the player has reached level 15. From that point, the sale will appear:

Every five levels from levels 15-40 (15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40)

Every three levels from levels 43-58 (43, 46, 49, 52, 55, 58)

After reaching level 58, the sale will be made available at every level increase.

All about Grimm

Grimm is used for upgrading card level, unlocking Devil's Tree nodes, and pulling in Chapter G. This is a scarce resource if you are a F2P so you need to allocate this carefully on the cards you only want to use and level up.

doing x3 or x5 of the latest battle stages you've cleared

claiming Day 2 and Day 10 rewards in Attendance card for non-VIP players (7,000 grimm)

AP is used to battle stages. Without it, you can't do anything in the game. Replenish rate is 1 AP = 5 min.

NOTE: It is strongly advised not to hoard APs by letting your AP bar capped. Better spend the APs to let the AP bar replenish itself.

All about :D Jobs

:D Jobs is where you can obtain grimms, Surprise Guest gifts, raven, keys, and daggers, and increase intimacy points for characters you send.

TIP: Always send the characters in :D Jobs.

All about Daggers

Daggers are used to uncap the max level of card. This is done in order to increase the power level of the card, to be used in harder lessons in main story.

For example, UR/UR+ card has max level of 100. You need 10 daggers of same sin attribute with the card, 100,000 grimm, 100 gems of main sin attribute, and 100 gems of secondary sin attribute of card in order to increase the max level of this card. Each uncapping of max level of card is increased by +10 levels.

Ways to obtain daggers:

reaching certain point requirement in event reward ladders

maxing out the Surprise Guest encounters for rewards in To Do (1500 max per character)

participating in Otaku Boot camp (Do they still run this in OM OG?)

All about Devil's Tree Items

Devil's Tree items are needed to unlock the nodes in Devil's Tree.

Ways to obtain the said items:

doing the Akuber orders (each day has corresponding sin attribute)

completing missions in To Do

reaching certain point requirement in event reward ladders

grinding the hard mode stage for RNG drop of items

All about Lonely Devil

Lonely Devil is a mode where you could rerun the past events in game. You could unlock a past event using LD tickets or by paying 10 DP.

Players who have missed their desired rewards from the event ladders rerun this event in order to continue what they have started. The total points acquired from previous run is saved and could be continued on your next run of same event. The event rerun lasts for 4 days. However, cheat cards don't work in here.

Lonely Devil is a great way to obtain UR memory cards in the game. Daggers could also be obtained here.

All about D-energy

D-energy is used to increase the chances you could have in capped battle stages. Battle stages that have x3 cap are event stages and hard mode stages. Using one D-energy gives 3 battles. If you run out of D-energy, 5 AP will be used to get 3 more battles.

buying the Congratulations set flash sale (Level Up sale)

reaching the certain point requirement in event reward ladders

All about Card Mechanic and Total Power

UR/UR+ cards have max level 100 and could be uncapped until you reach max level 200. SSR cards has max level 80 and could be uncapped until you reach max level 160.

Each card rarity has their own power level that is used in battle stages. This part will be further explained in a separate post (because I think I'm almost reaching the 30 max image cap in a post). I will link the post here later on.

If you don't want to grind the main story and just want to read the whole story, here's the link for the lesson summaries for lesson 1 to lesson 80.

Miscellaneous Info

You can drag your finger across the hearts that appear on screen during battle instead of tapping them individually. WAY more effective.

Choosing quick clear x3 or x5 on battles only gives EXP to player level, not including the card level, but you still get grimm and rewards.

Save glowsticks. Rainbow glowsticks are the more powerful buffs in battle.

You don't need to complete all daily missions in To Do. Just clear 7 missions in order to get the 18 DP daily.

You can leave your rewards sitting for as long as you want, and collect them whenever.

AP will carry over when you level up.

You can edit the game's graphics settings if you have lag. Just go up to the top right corner and hit the settings gear.

Work towards building a deck that covers all colors with a variety of characters, both demon cards and memory cards alike.

Try to keep your in-use cards (your deck, as opposed to your overall collection) evenly leveled.

Don't forget to level your memory cards. They are also important in total deck power.

Daily server resets at midnight JST or UTC+9. Convert into your local time to know when it will reset in your location.

Day 4: For the love of Note-taking

I am a person that loves to learn and take notes, but I tend to run into the problem of over-consuming. I’m a big idea type of person so I have many things I want to try but if I don't have a system most ideas are stuck in my head taking up space that can be used for creating.

I need a system that can be used in all parts of life that will help me capture my ideas and build on them. I reintroduced myself to the concept of a second brain. A second brain is essentially a methodology for saving and systematically reminding yourself of ideas, insights, and connections you’ve made through your experiences. It's used to free up your brain space and ensure you are creating valuable things from the information you consume.

It's a pretty simple concept that is achieved through a 4-step process:

Decided that I will use OneNote as my one-stop shop. I also started using a read-later app as a way to save articles for later and it has a tagging feature which is amazing!

When it comes to note-taking, the simpler and more flexible the organization method the better.

Pro-tip: Avoid making a perfect hierarchy of folders from the get-go

PARA Method: Everything in your life can fit into one of the below categories

Area: Long-term responsibilities

Projects: Short-term responsibilities

Resources: Topics or interests that will be useful in the future

Archives: Information that is inactive

I adopted the PARA method for my work OneNote, I have the tabs sectioned out for the different categories and I also have a section that I named inbox. The idea here is that everything has a place but try not to overthink it. The more flexibility you give yourself the better.

Pro-tip: Start with a clean slate. Move all existing files into an archive folder with today's date.

This is the main issue I had with the methodology, when I first tried to implement the PARA method I thought I had to use it on existing information. Needless to say, it was overwhelming and I ended up giving up. This time starting fresh took the weight of what to do will all the old information and allows my system to grow with me and helps reshape my method of thinking. It also helps that I didn't delete anything. If I need an old piece of information, its always there.

I know it sounds a bit redundant BUT this allows you to see the note in different ways and you always want to leave a note better than you found it.

Highlighting the most important parts

Add a link to reference later

Defining key terms in case you forget

Inserting placeholders when you leave off so you know where to pick up

You always want to enhance your notes and design them for your future self.

For me, note-taking is also an art form. It's how I express my interests and thoughts. I love that anything you want to learn is at your fingertips and I love sharing what I find in hopes that it helps someone else.

I also find informational blogging therapeutic. If I have a problem, goal, or task I usually make a post about it which helps me to not only think through my thoughts but also as a way to showcase what I learned. I feel like I found my voice and note-taking helps me not only learn and stay organized but also keeps me sane most days.

I'm excited to perfect my craft and the best part is that there is no finished product, you’re always improving!

Apps that might help you if your a system ! Or just plain fun !!

Simply Plural

This may not be a shocker, but this app has so many features and it was made for systems!! It has a chat room so alters can chat to eachother and a front history tracker as well!! It can store all of your alters and you can even connect to other system friends on there!! Though it's not offline, so beware of that

Twinote

Twinote is a fake Twitter, and I adore it. It has no friend connection so if you want friends on there, you can't have them. But this app is amazing, it's almost like the old Twitter !! You can make so many accounts on there and just let alters post what they feel at the moment, and this doesn't need wifi nor internet!! It may show an ad or 2 sometimes but it's almost barely so it's amazing!! You can also text different Alters!!

Gratitude

Gratitude is this journal type app, it has challenges and stuff so it keeps you motivated!! This app has certain topics to choose and it focuses mostly on positive so your alters have a low chance of being triggered, while also this app let's not have to choose a topic!! It's very cool and amazing, though if you delete it, you can't get it back unless you pay, but it's still amazing!!

Moodee

Moodee is a really soft app and has such a cute mascot!! But it also tracks your mood and gives you suggestions on what to do if your sad based on what your sad about!! What I find amazing is that these suggestions can also be by people who use the app and feel as though they help, so you aren't getting bot answers for it!! Some things are blocked for paying but the basics I just told you are all free !!

My true Value

My true value is a soft thing where it will help you heal from trauma, though I have such a major complaint, after level one you have to unlock everything with money, so I personally don't use it much but even the first level is amazing and such a good thing!! It has breathing breaks and let's you say "I don't know" or "I can't remember" for its textbox questions!!

Character.Ai

Why is it on this list? Well the reason is that it helps our fictives feel as though they are talking to source mates, and it helps some of our alters heal from trauma!! It also has a psychiatrist bot and therapist bot that are both so so amazing!! And you can make your own private bots so you can customize them to what you remember!! You can also unlist bots so you could give the link to your friend who might want to talk to them!!

Blacknote

Blacknote is this app that let's you take notes while also locking them with a passcode!! So you can vent in there or something else that you don't want other alters to see so you lock it!! It's a very cool app and it's offline and only has like 1 ad at the very top!!

Pinterest can help you find faceclaims for alters and also find aesthetics!! Pinterest can also help with finding source claims !! So I recommend it because of that !!

Ibis Paint X

Remember pinterest? Yea you might not always find a faceclaim, so you can alter certain fanarts thay are close in Ibis Paint!! Though there is a lot of ads and it also includes pay, but it's still very good!!

Photonote

Fake Twitter? What's next!? Fake Instagram!? Yes actually!! This is from the same people who made the fake Twitter too!! It's very simple and you can message other alters on there!! It's very free and cool so I recommend it!!

I was a Teenaged Mothman part 4 of ???? One day, one day this will be a fic.

Prompt me up!: Open

126. “we’re quite literally fugitives of the state.” - “so no pizza?”

Stiles was laying on his bed with the packet of paper in front of him. He flipped another page open and began circling words in bright red ink and adding little notations on the edge of the paper. He glanced up at the clock, sighing even deeper as he tapped the pen against his lips. It was nearly midnight and he still hadn't heard anything from Lydia on if she was coming home tonight. His roommate had found a new 'fresh face' at the bar and was trying them out before seeing if they were worthy of the great Lydia Martin ride. He had been thinking about just texting her, but the last time that happened the partner she was with had suggested a threesome.

Stiles loves Lydia to death, but no. He was far more interested in someone else right now anyways.

"We’re quite literally fugitives of the state," Steven Dex said on the TV, Stiles' eyes moving to the screen. He had put on one of the Mothman movies (specifically I Was a Teenaged Mothman Too) and couldn't help but smile as Derek Hale's character came on screen.

"So no pizza?" Erik Weizer asked, Stiles mouthing the line along with the actor.

Stiles tossed the Dissertation from one of their potential candidates to the side and grabbed his phone. While he might not be able to text Lydia, there was someone else he could try. He wasn't sure if the man would even answer, they had only just began texting in some strange turn of events.

SS: Why did Erik Weizer always want Pizza? Did the writers just say hey, that's your one trait? Like pizza and get slammed into walls by Steven?

Stiles went back to watching the scene where Steven and Erik were tracking down where the Alpha moth had gone. It was one of the most quoted Sterik scenes in the franchise and had actually been the part where Stiles himself had started shipping them. He had actually been a little jealous of Jared Ormly who played Erik. To be that close to Derek Hale at ALL times? Yeah, that was the dream.

He heard his phone go off, checking to see if it was Lydia. Stiles jumped up in surprise, seeing Derek had texted him back. He rolled over his bed clutching his phone and kicking his feet in the most awkward and foolish way he possibly could before reading through the texts.

DH: Jared actually said a lot of those lines off the cuff. Most of our lines were improv between the two of us. DH: What movie are you watching?

Stiles grinned, typing back as fast as his fingers could go.

SS: I was a Teenaged Mothman too.

DH: Gross, that's the one where they used Jello instead of fake blood.

SS: I couldn't eat my dad's Jello salad for a year without thinking about it. He stopped making it because I laughed too hard every time he brought it out. I kept thinking about that stupid line.

DH: "His weakness is the light, quick shine it on his blood?"

SS: That's the one. Do you remember every movie's script?

The phone started to ring, Stiles sitting up and holding it out in front of him with an almost confused look. "Oh my god, who the hell calls in the year 2023?!" The name read "Derek Hale FOR REAL" and Stiles cleared his throat as he answered the phone.

"H-hey, what's up?"

"What was the last line?" Derek's voice was soft, almost like he was trying to keep quiet while talking to Stiles.

"Uh, Erik just said 'I hope you know what you're doing.'" Stiles looked up to the movie, watching as the scene shifted to a close up of Derek's character contemplating.

"I don't think any of us know what we're doing." Derek was saying the line in almost perfect sync with the TV, Stiles hearing the young 19 year old and the now 30 something murmuring in his ear. "We're teenagers, Erik. We shouldn't have to deal with this. But we will. And come morning, there will only be one Mothman left. It's him or me, and right now, I'm going to do my damndest to make sure it's me."

Stiles whistled low, letting out a chuckle. "Bravo. You're truly a thespian. Such a riveting line."

"I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but thank you." Derek chuckled. God it was like bells ringing on a clear day and stars falling from the sky. Stiles was a fucking mess when it came to Derek Hale. "It's not the first time you've said that."

"I'll tell you you're a good actor every day. Not many people stick through a series like this and come back from the grave with a new boyfriend."

"I made them write that in to my contract. If Steven Dex is resurrected, he has to end up with Erik." Derek's phone rustled a little and he sighed. "Just like I made them remove my social media restrictions so I could answer you."

Stiles swallowed hard, clearing his throat as he licked his lips. "You.., did what?"

There was silence on the other end for a moment, then Derek sighed. "I couldn't respond to you because my original contract I signed when I was 15 said I couldn't respond to private DMs on social media. Laura thought it was a good idea since underage and in Hollywood, but I really was glad you found me again. I didn't think you would remember."

Again. Found him AGAIN? Stiles wracked his brain, trying to remember when in his whole life he had met Derek Hale. Wait. He met Derek Hale?? Derek Hale knew who he was the whole time???

"Uh, yeah! Of course. I was wondering why you weren't responding but. Glad we could talk now."

"I have to go, we have a press conference tomorrow. Hope you finish your paper."

"Yep! Have a good night, thanks for the call!" Stiles hung up the phone and stared at it, looking over the screen. "When the fuck did I meet Derek Hale?"

lost in translation (ch 10)

a (non-exhaustive) list of differences or cultural references i noted down for the translation of chapter 10 while watching the chn and eng versions side-by-side. previously i did the same thing for chapter 9.

disclaimer: i am not fluent in chinese, so keep in mind that there will be mistakes. feel free to let me know if you have questions, concerns, or comments.

overall: not too much stood out to me. after looking back on my comments on ch 9, i guess there was less awkwardness in this chapter's translation since i didn't really make a notice things like clunky grammar or sentences. i feel like most of these examples are more like fun facts or nitpicking rather than things i really feel like i need to correct.

rhinoceros horn

心有灵犀一点通, or just 心有灵犀, is a well-known idiom that uses the rhinoceros horn as a metaphor. the idiom definition from the pleco dictionary app:

(idiom) hearts which beat in unison are linked; hearts linked as one, just as the proverbial rhinoceros communicates emotion telepathically through his single horn (idiom); fig. two hearts beat as one

so it can be used to describe people who are connected or very in sync. and here's the description of the rhino horn, also from a pleco definition:

magic horn (i.e. rhinoceros horn with its threadlike white core, mentioned in old texts as having a high sensibility)—heartbeat in unison 身无彩凤双飞翼, 心有灵犀一点通。(李商隐《无题》) Shēn wú cǎi fèng shuāngfēi yì, xīn yǒu língxī yīdiǎn tōng. For bodies no fluttering side by side of splendid phoenix wings, | Between hearts the one minute thread from root to tip of the magic horn. (The second line is often quoted as meaning a meeting of minds.)

the white threadlike core connecting each end of the horn is why it's used as a metaphor for connection; considering this imagery, having the horn hold the wick of a candle also makes perfect sense.

i know the story focused on the role of the rhinoceros horn in 异苑 "Bizarre Gardens", but i'm not familiar with the work so i won't try to add beyond the game's explanation :') i'm just noting the reference that i was aware of

no issues with the translation, but there's a bit of wordplay in the chinese version. translated more literally, it would be something like "and once the round was over, the pawn [棋子] simply became something to be discarded [弃子】." the bolded words are near-homophones, both pronounced "qizi" with just a difference in tone.

10-3

the number four is seen as unlucky in chinese culture (and other east asian cultures) since its pronunciation sounds like the word for "death". by extension, the number 14 is also unlucky, which is why prankster started the "ghost" appearances on the 14th floor of the building.

general note on translation; a lot of times in the narration, short descriptors are lost in the process of chn -> eng, probably since the full translation would make the sentence a bit unwieldy. usually it's not super important or the the meaning that it carries is made redundant through other context. for example, in 10-3, when they're discussing the culprit of the mischief in the office:

this contains the phrase "artem, who [the culprit] hates". this could be considered redundant through context (because why else would someone be targeting artem in this way?) but in eng, they don't specify this as it does in the original text.

another example in 10-5 when they confront the fortuneteller:

there were a few adverbs dropped from the translation in this section. i picked this one since it had the most change; in chn, she casually glances over it, but in eng, she "inspects" it which sounds much more thorough.

10-13

陆景和一改刚才冷峻严肃的模样，直接不顾形象地斜坐在会议室的长桌上。 Marius changes from his cold demeanor from earlier, and he sits down at the long table in the conference room with no regard for his image.

i... feel like the meaning got flipped to its opposite meaning and it's so puzzling that i'm still wondering if i'm just interpreting it wrong?? hence my typing out the chn text too, so other people can check it as well. i even tried a few different machine translations but this is still my conclusion. anyway, if my analyses so far are correct, this would be the second time that marius's personality becomes a bit harsher after the eng translation (it happened before in ch 9).

If it weren't for the fact that the copy [of the report] was still there and that it was something I had only mentioned to Artem, I would have thought that he had long since known what I was planning to do next.

also a sentence flipped to basically the opposite meaning, to the point that i doubt myself, but i think this time it's because the sentence is a bit long with a lot of confusing negatives

10-26

When visiting Brigid Gries:

You: Yeah, gege's right! Don't worry, you'll be fine! // [Brigid's writing:] "Thank you, shushu and jiejie" // Without stopping to tease that "shushu", you and Artem exchange a glance.

this is another situation with ways of addressing people in chinese; please check my comments on the scene in chapter 9-14 if you want an explanation of the terms.

rip rosa. you tried xD but looks like artem can't escape the shushu/uncle allegations 😔 and Brigid even called rosa "older sister" right in front of them both... ice cold.

also this time, jerome is just himself shushu

now switching scenes to vyn:

on second thought this might be too trivial, but whatever, we're already here and i have the screenshot and i'm a vyn blog. basically in chinese, vyn "looks up at Matthew Richter with a smile that's not quite a smile." that's pretty much the most literal definition of the phrase, and since it's vyn we can probably already assume that the smile wouldn't be a simple happy one, but yeah. now the last one!

I have decided that I want to become a hero. No, that's not right. It's not that I want to…

HI!!! I realized i never really introduced myself here, though i probably should.

My name's Miru/Tobi and i am a 16 year old digital artist and animator. My pronouns are She/Him and I'm agender little guy.

I finally edited my post-finale, notes-app thoughts so that they're somewhat intelligible and I'm leaving them here in one rambling lump.

- ROSIE!! I would give this man all the screentime ever. The depiction of his mission and crash was executed so well! Nate did a stellar job with that and later at the concentration camp.

- Take the "true" out of the "we were the masters of the air" part! I hate it. Who put that in there? It sounds corny, and weird, and like they achieved some sort of divinely dictated status and it really pisses me off. The vibe is manifest destiny, American imperialism-type shiz and I hate it. Just "we were the masters of the air" with a different emphasis in Anthony's Crosby voice would have been great. Miss me with that "true" bullshit. Yes, this miniscule moment is what I will fight over.

- Ngl, I thought there was some sort of design/editing oopsie when a tumblr post last week zoomed in on the opening credits where it shows a collection of dudes standing beside a plane and one of the ones wearing a life vest had Rafe Law's face. But now I'm so happy that in the show Lemmons got to take flight and participate in such a cheerful mission.

- The roles and screen time for the Tuskegee men: It should have been better for sure but it was at least tasteful?? as weird as that sounds. In my (white) opinion, their initial introduction offered a very limited look at the unit as a whole but still felt a lot more intimate than for other characters we have seen more often. In episode 9, Macon, Jefferson, & Daniels didn't say much but they felt so integral to the scenes they were in and had quiet moments (like the nods when they arrived at the new camp or being right in the thick of the scramble during the liberation) that felt all the more powerful because of the lack of dialogue.

What I would have really liked is for their storylines to run through every episode as more of a parallel to those of the 100th, with equal attention dedicated to them/their missions, but at least they weren't simply tossed into the show in a way that felt careless or grudgingly forced.

- I'm not sure I like Solomon as the one lifting the guard during the march. Yes, the circumstances really did lead to some of them helping each other like that, even as wild as prisoners toting the guns might seem, but having it be a Jewish POW in the show felt very morally pedantic, like some sort of Sunday-school lesson on being the bigger person. I can only speak as a non-Jew, but it felt odd! Instead of being an effective way to underline the complexity of the relationships between prisoners & captors or Germans & Americans it felt like it was trying too hard to also connect to the Holocaust elements of the episode. I feel like the result was clumsy and strange in a way that I don't think it would have been if it had been a character other than Solomon taking those actions.

- And while I'm on the subject of the guards/prisoners angle...

That one guard yelling and bragging about how to handle the prisoners was awkwardly done. I can't remember it exactly, but if the show wanted to highlight that "not all Germans and not all the prison staff were Nazis but some definitely were and those ones were real bastards!" then they should have had the other guard looking conflicted or upset by it or something. There should have been some kind of nuance distinguishable to the audience. Most of the faces were just so blank it felt like one guy was giving the scene his all while everyone else spaced for that take.

- They managed to convey the "old men and kids" thing pretty well without hitting us over the head or putting it in the voiceover. There's a more effective way for it to have been done, I just know it, but I have no actual suggestions and therefore must be gracious. I'm just happy they tried to show a tiny bit of how staggeringly drained and unrecognizable the entire German nation was by the end of the war. MotA's ✨bombing morality discourse✨ often felt unsettled throughout the show, but I think the attempt at illustrating that the first country the Nazis invaded/attacked was their own ended up being more successful.

- I'm not sure exactly what they were doing with the moment where Buck and the horse stare into each other's souls but I love how it gives us the opportunity to have cracky, 'Cleven is a horse boy' jokes 🐎.

(Ok, but seriously, what was with the horse? Were they trying to increase tension wondering if it would reveal them? Was it to show how dire things had become in Germany compared to when earlier they had such technological might? Was it supposed to be one of the emaciated horses they often passed while on the march? Is it for white horse symbolic reasons? Just for the aesthetic? WHY?!?).

- I could have easily spent 40 minutes just watching the POWs trying to pack up for the march and I still wouldn't have had enough. I'm absolutely wild for the details and background stuff in Stalag III and I can't wait for all the gifsets and whatnot to be able to take a closer look at things ❤️

- They gave Crosby his locked supply shed moment!! I was really hoping for that, or when he intellectually destroys the 390th's navigator, to be included and it is so satisfying to see. I love having something else to focus on besides his voiceover and early episode struggles (both of which I do enjoy) or the weird af way they did the him+Sandra thing (which I quite despise). Add it to his Nietze quote and anxiety concerning their roles in the war and I feel like we got a decent characterization of him again.

- I guess I can accept not enough budget for a 10th episode but there wasn't even enough for Meatball in the finale? Man, I'd sure like to go back in time and crowdfund that shit.

- When Sammy yelled "they won!!" as the kiddos were playing after everyone leaves Thorpe Abbotts I got super annoyed.

The hero worship would be very real of course, but Hanks & Spielberg can't convince me that a British kid who has been living a huge chunk of his life in a country at war would not make that a "we won!". Not only was England a part of the victorious side but Sammy was basically a part of the Thorpe Abbotts/100thBG family and therefore would likely feel like a part of any of their successes too. It's kind of petty but, again, it felt a little too "USA! USA!! USA!!!" for my tastes.

- From the moment his casting was announced I expected Callum Turner to put his entire being into this role and he certainly has. They nabbed a 6'4 dude built like an old growth pine to play a man who was something like 5'6 and 120lbs soaking wet, but I could definitely see the vision. His dedication has been so clear in other episodes as well but there was just something about Episode 9 that went above and beyond. Maybe because there are scenes where Egan is alone more often (or at least separated somewhat from the others), just like when he first bailed, but Callum's facial work and body language was impeccable.
