At least now I have some idea of how I want a final painting to go? Not sure if I will have the will to do an additional color study with compositional adjustments, but this still turned out better than I initially expected.
Autumnal equinox pallanoph coloration is more or less fantastical, but who knows?
Caran d’Ache colored pencils in a sketchbook that didn’t sign up for this torture.

I keep seeing art discourse on twitter about modern art and I’m just like all the arguments are in bad faith tbh. I like modern art but yk. I COULD definitely make some of those pieces. It’s much more about the messaging and what it evokes in the audience rather than the technical skill involved (sometimes) but they are still good and important art. and also a lot of art IS just rich people money laundering. I think some people have animosity to modern art because of that and that we live in a society that discourages creativity (for the poor). I think a lot less people would feel slighted when they look at modern art if we encouraged them to create. and if we didn’t live in such inequality. bc as much as I love some pieces I also think to myself “wow this guy got paid 3 million dollars for a painting I could have made. I wish I could have made it too”

Ok even if I’m a trans man, I feel some amount of comfort in knowing that my body looks exactly like those women depicted in renaissance sculptures and paintings. Like every time I feel ugly I’m like “well that one statue is of Aphrodite and I literally look so much like her. I’m not completely a lost cause I guess.”
and also in that era, being chubby was a sign of wealth and prosperity, so basically if I was alive in the 1400s I would have gotten so many bitches <3
